Por siempre mi amor #14 12/20/13: I'm On A Boat (Ft Sonia the Pain)

"¡Caigamos en la oración!" count: 6
Lo Refrito
  • Andrea frets and prays for the safety of her children.
  • Dante frets calls Gonzo looking for the combination to the safe.
  • Isa frets and cries about "the kiss." Gaby pep talks.
  • Fernando frets and curses Isa.
  • Arturo frets and talks to Eugenia
Lo Nuevo
En la vecindad de Andrea
Andrea walks Esteban to the bus stop and warns him about talking to strangers. She instructs him to not leave school until Agata arrives. Her spaz fit does not go unnoticed by the ever astute Esteban.

El Reclusorio
F-no praises Gonzo for his work threatening Andrea and tells him to keep it up. Gonzo whines that following her around is costing him money. He tells F-no that Dante has found the safe and needs the combination. F-no wonders how he found it, so Gonzo mentions Gema. F-no smiles like a sleaze and notes that Gema is más facil que la tabla de cero (a cinch--with all credit to Kathy. ) Gonzalo agrees with that assessment. F-no goes on to say Gema is más bueno que el pan (which according to WordReference means she's kindness itself or the salt of the earth. Somehow I don't think F-no means it that way.)  F-no is not going to give Gonza the combination and wants to know where Isa could be. Gonzo assumes she's on vacation. F-no figures she's already changed the combination so there's not point in giving Gonzo and Dante the combination. Gonzo figures Dante will just take advantage of his "stay" at Isa's. How do you like them apples, F-no?

Puerto Azul and Its Nautical Environs
Note: Scenes are combined for continuity
Bruno and Nicolas meet up with Isa and Gaby. Nicolas would like Isa and Gaby to work with him, Bruno and Arturo as the interior decorators for his new project. The girls are interested in the job and to inspire them even more, Nicolas suggests a spin around the area in his yacht. Isa and Gaby are on board with the idea (I couldn't resist, sorry.) Arturo will meet them in a bit since he's picking up So-not from the hospital. Isa looked a little disappointed to me.

While they get ready, Gaby teases Isa a little. If Isa isn't comfortable working so close to Arturo, Gaby is willing to cancel with Nicolas. Isa says she's fine. Work is work. Gaby knows her friend very well and correctly guesses that this job (*cough*and Arturo*cough*) interests Isa more than others. Isa confesses that she is very interested in Arturo and wants to know about every aspect of his life....but she means it more in a background check kind of way because she's not going to fall victim again like she did with El Innombrable (He Who Shall Not be Named) as they are now calling him. Gaby is excited because she thinks Isa is opening her self up to the idea of love again.

When Arturo returns with So-not, they run into Nicolas. So-not wants to go on the boat trip despite Arturo's protestations that it's a business meeting. Ever the gentleman, Nicolas invites the She demon along. (I guess I should note that the doctor at the hospital made a big deal about So-not staying out of the sun...just like a soul-sucking vampire...hmmm.)

Gaby doesn't take the news about the unexpected passenger very gracefully and I learn a new word for beach (and I don't mean sand and sea--lagartona.) Isa is a bit more gracious. Bruno isn't so happy about it either. Sonia's pretty pithed about Gaby and Isa being "the business."

During the trip Arturo and Isa talk and canoodle. Sonia stalks and fumes. Arturo wants to talk about last night. Isa figures it's a good idea since they will be working together, but Arturo clarifies that it's not just the business aspect. He doesn't want to ruin what's happening between them. He wants to know what happened to Isa and she explains that her heart was broken and she was left hecha de trizas (tattered.) She was swindled and she doesn't know if she'll ever be able to trust again. Arturo tells Isa that he didn't think he would be able to love again, but he was feeling things for her. Isa doesn't want to get hurt again. She was a fool. Arturo encourages her to cry and get it all out. She should let go of all the bad feelings that are keeping her from living. Arturo wants her to trust him because he's never going to hurt her.

Isa tells Arturo all about Andrea and the children. She confides that she was robbed to. She had given the Slimeball access to all her finances. Arturo is incensed. The bastard should pay for what he did. Oh if he only the the jerk in front of him he'd kill him! Isa thanks him. She's never felt so protected and cared for (What's Gaby, chopped liver?) She thanks him again for listening. He gives her a sweet kiss on the forehead. So-not is not pleased.

Arturo talks about his life with Eugenia. She was his everything. He gave up social status, family and his inheritance to be with her. He has the joy of Aranza too. Isa is happy for him. So many people aren't so lucky. So-not looks on and is convinced that there's some monkey business going in. Surely these two knew each other in more than a "work" way and they are lovers.

So-not tells Gaby and Isa that Art was a womanizer and that her cousin was just in it for the money and good life. Of course Isa believes her and starts giving Art the cold shoulder. He could barely pay attention to Nicolas' travel information about the area (I didn't really care about it either.) There's some blabbity blah about locations, shopping, furniture and hippiosos (hippy types.) Arturo corners Isa and asks what's wrong. Isa  tells him all about what Sonia said. He swears it's lies! He doesn't want any misunderstanding between them. Isa doesn't believe him. He explains Sonia shouldn't even be there. Maybe Sonia thought there could have been something between himself and her, but when she realized it wasn't going to happen, she told Isa some lie. Isa doesn't believe him. Art leaves in a huff. I'll take you, Arturo!!

In the City
Note: Bullets are my specialty (That's code for "I'm a lazy recaper.")
  • Andrea talks to Tere about the recent threats. Completely unaware that Tere may be the next threat. Watch your back, Andrea!
  • Over breakfast Aranza relives the horror of the Night of the Overcooked Codornices with Tita. Tita reminds Aranza that the proper thing to do is call her Abulito and thank him for his hospitality. Ozzie is tickled to hear from her and asks when he can see her again. At Tita's prodding, Aranza suggests a movie later in the day.
  • Ozzie arrives with flowers and chocolates to pick up the ladies for their "date". Tita is dressed to the nines. Ozzie wants to see a boring documentary about astronomy. Tita and Aranza convince him to see an animated movie about a couple of fish.
  • Dante gets Gema drunk and tries to get the combination to the safe. Gema doesn't know it and passes out. He ransacks the closet looking for it.
Avances
  • War for Arturo is declared!!

Thank you, Sara for a quick and witty recap.
Spatz fit, soul sucking vampire, She demon- I love it. I can't stop laughing.
Did anyone notice Sucia stalking?
I enjoyed the bullets and didn't consider it lazy. It was to the point.
The exchange between Gaby, Isa and Sucia was interesting. Gaby has Sucia's number and So-not knows it. This is going to be interesting. I'm glad that Art went after So-not to expose her lie.
Tita and Osvaldo are a cute couple. She is definitely good medicine for him. The flowers and the chocolate were a nice touch.

I agree about Gaby. I think we are in for some great fights between Gaby and Sonia.

Thanks for the kind words.

Terrific recap Sara! Did anyone else catch a something Fernando said about Gema? It seemed like he was implying that he got a "bite of the hot tamale" himself at some point. Am I wrong? I am so disappointed in Gema. It seems that she's doing the same thing Isabel did, falling for some creep who offers nothing but sweet talk backed up with cruelty and threats. You'd think being an eyewitness to what Isabel has been through, Gema would have more smarts than this.

I got that impression, too! I sort of let it go because I didn't want to think Gema would be so low as to sleep with her boss' husband. I'll go back and watch my recording some time today and disect it a little more.

Make that "dissect."

Thanks for your recap Sara.

I'm glad to see that Art at least addressed the lies So-not told. Now he just has to start to realize the other lies she has told.

And Isa not believing is true to character; she's been hurt and not going down that road again.

TJ - yes, Gaby will be a match for So-not. I just hope that doesn't put her life in peril.

Kathy - good catch but does that mean Gema slept w/him before he started going w/Isa? I hope so.

Great recap, Sara. I always enjoy your concise style (and I don't see it as laziness).

I don't think F-No has had a "taste" of Gema. I think he's just observed how flirty and flighty she is (we saw how flirtatious she is with the building guards). Plus, she’s young, and I think her devoted telenovela watching is supposed to indicate that she's a hopeless romantic. Of course, I know none of us tn devotees here on Caray Caray would EVER be so dumb. :)

It was nice to see Isa and Art share their stories with each other. Isa said she felt more comfortable just letting it all out with him, because she was ashamed to let her friends like Gabi still see her still crying over that jerk, especially since Gabi and her other friends warned her about F-No from the beginning. So I don't think it was a knock on Gabi to say she's never felt so protected. She knows Gabi's right there next to her in the trenches, fighting side by side and will have her back. But it's quite a different thing to have someone wrap their arms around you, with no judgments, and feel that they would shield you from all harm. She felt that way with Art, instinctively.

I've very glad Art went right to Isa and asked what the heck was up with her changed attitude. And I'm glad she came out and told him what Sucia said. At least this can be nipped in the bud quickly, and won't get dragged out. And now with Isa and Gabi working on the hotel with Art and Bruno, there's plenty of time for the foursome to get to know each other. Yay!

I went back and watched the scene again and fixed the recap. I try to not use CCs but for the reclusorio conversation I did. I was reading and didn't notice the timing was off so I credited the "she's easy" line to Gonzo. I guess it could be ambiguous. We know exactly how easy she was, but F-no may really have been thinking she as a naive little thing and he could see how easy it is to fool her.

Vivi-I understand what you are saying about Isa's saying she never felt so protected. I just think she was a little blind when it came to Fernando. I've always had the impression that Gaby had him figured out from day one (which is probably another reason why he insisted they sneak away to be married.) Gaby has been grousing about F-no for years and Isa would not listen. Now Gaby has Sonia's number and Isa is trying to give her the benefit of the doubt AND believing her (something Gaby didn't immediately fall for since she straight up asked She-demon why her cousin put up with the supposedly womanizing Arturo.)

Oh, I loved this saying: "más facil que la tabla de cero"-- that's a new saying for me, and I'll have to try to remember it. :)

I was so happy for Ozzie when Aranza called. That was so nice of Tita to facilitate that, and a lesson in good manners for Aranza. And Tita really did look fantastic in the cream crochet dress. I hope Aranza benefits from feeling the love of her grandparents. Tita's reaction when Ara suggested that she marry her abuelo Ozzie was funny. I think the lady does protest too much.

Hmm...an animated movie about a couple of fish. Could it be Finding Nemo? That came out 10 years ago in 2003. That might be a clue as to how much time will pass in the eventual time jump.

I'm trying to remember all the math. The first episode was Arturo and Eugenia's tenth wedding anniversary. Did he say his "life" began in 1996, the year they were married? Or was that the year Aranza was born. I've always assumed at least a 10 year time jump (thought I don't know why I've assumed that.) And if it's ten years, will Art and Isa be married or will they have an über long courtship?

A 10 year jump would put the kids in their late teens/early 20s, which is what the adult actors who are playing them look like. So that's what I'm assuming. I'm not yet sure how they'll put things on hold for that long, but I'm sure the writers will find a way.

Thanks Sara. Lifesaving recap for me, and ever so grateful. Both boys are home for the holidays which means I lose the battle for the TV. I'll be watching this through the cookie-baking today...definitely want to see those daggers flying between Gaby and Sonia. That may be our must see TV on this TN.

In reading events, I too wonder now where our main couple will be after he time jump? Will Isa have turned her back on trying with Art and we see them meet up and try again? Can't believe that in TN lore they would be married and writers would skip all that for viewerville with the main couple. But SuchAPain still seems in the picture if the opening is to be believed. Hopefully Art has her number too during that time, as he should right now, and she is just help-bent on revenge versus still trying to trap him.

Daisynjay

Love your style, Sara C.! Thanks so much. :))

Sonia is a nuisance and is in it for the long haul. I really don't like characters like her. She is one dimensional and too predictable.

I know the writers like these kinds of characters, so I know we are stuck, but a person can complain, right?! LOL!

Fatima

Splendid Sara. Enjoyed every word immensely. "How do you like them apples, F-no?", " just like a soul-sucking vampire...hmmm talk and canoodle", "Sonia stalks and fumes" and "What's Gaby, chopped liver?" were among my favorites. You covered everything so well.

Xintperuvian and Sara, I'm dismayed at the idea Gema would sleep with F-no (whenever it might have occurred). Revolting.

Sara, your insight on F-no and Gaby seeing him for who and what he was from the start was very helpful and put it in good perspective.

Karen, if it's revealed you are a liar, doesn't it make sense to wonder if one lie is told there is usually another right behind? We want Art to question everything about Sonia. But, although he is starting to realize her tangled web of deceit, he would probably never think that she is a murderer. Yet. Sigh.

Vivi and daisy, I'm also curious as to how they are going to do the time jump. It seems too far in the future for the story to have ceased to progress.

Thanks again Sara!

Diana

Thanks, Sara.

Andrea warned her son about talking to strangers. Too bad someone never gave Gemma that same lecture. I could hardly watch that scene of those two drinking Isa's fine hooch and squirming all over Isa's apartment. How disloyal and stupid of Gemma. luckily, I do not have a maid who can open my door to strangers when I am out.

So-no goes straight from her hospital bd to making trouble and scheming. Bleeccchhh

Thanks to everyone for the complements!

I understand your pain, Daisynjay! There are some evenings when Hubs hogs the TV and it really frustrates me. (I'm kind of addicted to TNs I'm afraid.)

Fatima-Of course you can complain! CI has set the precedent. LOL. I'm ok with Sonia. For some reason I can deal with BSC,one-dimensional and SnidelyWhiplash-esque villains much better than true-to-life ones (OMG Cynthia and Vanessa mean girlness drove me up the wall so bad I had to stop watching.)

Daisy- I fear we may have to wait until the ultimas semanas before Sonia is revealed as a psycho killer, but I'm wondering how they are going to manage to keep her in the story so long. She helped F-no rob Isa, she lies like a rug and for now Aranza isn't completely sold on her...yet we know she'll still be around 10ish years from now.

I really can't wait until we get the jump. I'm loving this part of the story, but I loves me some Pablo Lyle.

Susanlynn--Oh I love your "Bleeccchhh." It's starting to feel like Carlos' "Next!" I was willing to cut Gemma some slack a couple of days ago, but the minute she took Dante to Isa's bed I was done. Bleeccchhh.

oy vey. ComplIments.

I keep trying to remember if we ever had a scene with F-no and Gema while he was married to Isa. I have a vague memory of him making some kind of move on her but that could have been any other TN. He really has raised sleaziness to new highs.

Gaby is sharp and is onto So-not just like Daphne. And I agree she had been ragging on Isa about F-no probably from the beginning.

I did laugh at the mere idea that Ozzy thought a 9 year old would like to see a documentary.

I too wonder how they are going to make the time jump and make it plausible. I can only guess that So-not will find a way to break up Art and Isa and will snag him for herself. Time will blur as the 9 year olds go off to school bringing them to their late teens before Art and Isa reconnect. I think the actors playing the grown up teens look more like twenty somethings which I find jarring. To be honest I wish they would skip a big time jump and play out the story in real time. Those child actors are excellent as well as adorable.

Thanks. Just caught up.

Sonia is definitely a soul-sucking vampire. The problem is that she will talk her way out of Arturo's accusation and cause ten more years of grief plus however much time after the jump.

I see catfights in this story's future. Gaby could definitely whip Sonia's arse and pull those extensions out in no time flat.

Decie- Thelma Madrigal (grown up Aranza) looked high schoolish in PVAA...but she had braces (or some such.) I can't see Pablo Lyle as a late teen at all. I hope he and Thelma have some chemistry. I'm just coming off of Cachito where he and Sofia Castro (adult Dafne) were an item and I really thought they had great chemistry.

UA-I hope we do get some cat fights. Martha Julia strikes me as being able to do a cat fight very well.

The only interaction they showed with F-No and Gema was him treating her (very rudely) as a maid and her jumping to obey. I don't think they've been involved otherwise, it's just that she's naive and stupid and with his experience seducing lonely women, he's got her pegged as some sweet young thing who will fall for anything the "bad boy" tells her to do in order to have him stick around. These three guys (Fernando, Gonzalo and Dante) are all sleazebags cut from the same cloth.

Some time ago there was a "reality show" on VH1 hosted by Maria Conchita Alonso to identify new actors with novela potential. It was mostly in English, but somewhat fun.

The opening episode paired the contestants off for fights. The best one was between a blond and a brunette who were playing the trophy bride and maid (respectively) of the master of the house. The catfight started on the deck and ended in the pool. That was the best one in the show.

And yes, I can see Marta Julia being the winner.

She's in Las Vias del Amor which is now on in the mornings on Unimas. She looks great in it... as also do Jorge Salinas, Gabriel Soto, Daniela Romo, and Enrique Rocha.

You know, I do not find the actor playing F-No to be attractive at all. If anything, he always looks a little crazed or off base to me. Am I missing something? Is it just the way that wardrobe has this guy dressed? I do not find him in the least bit attractive and wonder how the beautiful Susana Gonzalez' character would have even given this joker a second thought.

I'm complaining, but Sara C. said I could! LOL!

Fatima

Fatima...I agree with you completely. I find it very hard to believe that the beautiful Susanna would fall for F-no. He reminds me of one of those guys who is a legend in his own mind...but nobody else's.

Well, in real life we see plenty of beautiful women with men who are challeneged in this dapartment. What won her over was the flattery, pampering, romancing, and the constant attention from F-No. Everything he did seemed to be focued on her and her needs.

Had he been a jerky abuser to her, then we'd have to wonder why the heck she stayed with this guy.

Another thought about the So-not/Arturo dynamic: The avances show So-not slapping Isa, so I'm really wondering how So-not is going to manage to stick around to poison Aranza. UNLESS, we fast forward 10 years and So-not AND Isa have been out of the picture. In my imagining Arturo kicks So-not to the curb, but loses Isa anyway because Isa just doesn't want to deal with the dramas. 10 years later Isa and Arturo cross paths again. This is complete conjecture and I should note I am ALWAYS wrong.

UA-You continue to tease me with updates about Unimas programming. I wish my husband was willing to get DirectTV.

Maybe OT: some comments from Mexico are that this TN is "aburridisma". I'm not finding it boring at all. Thoughts?

PS: Well said, Vivi. Fernando is a sleazebucket, but I think he says all the right things to Isa.

fSara

I don't find it boring either and if it is doing badly in Mexico I fear that there will be some unpleasant surprises for us. I saw an updated cast list and that worried me as well. Apparently the comparison with the truly awful CI (to us) is what is driving this. For some reason CI did very well and this one isn't wracking up those number and it seems the producer is being pushed to make it comparable to CI. Should the story start to fall apart I regret to say it but I'll be gone? La Impostora is soon to start on Telemundo and i'll be heading that way. I really like Christian Bach and her little boy Sebastian.

F-no is so unattractive, not just his character but that kind of mad look in his eyes. He gives me the creeps. All I can think is that his obsessive attention to Isa won her over. She seems very confident in her business life but less so in her personal one.

That CI did as well as it did just blows my mind. It bothers me that the 4:15 time slot (in Mexico...I think that's the slot) used to be a modest rating slot. Then Refugio came along and got great numbers. I think Corona de Lagrimas did ok as well. Then CI is HUGE. To expect the same kind of numbers from ANY show is not fair in my humble and not very knowledgeable opinion.

I am torn between asking about where the updated cast list was and just ignoring it. I really work hard to avoid any kind of spoiler/cast news. I won't rant about the MPV bumpers here. (grumblegrumble) I hope you stick around though :-)

Anon6:07 from yesterday-thanks for the info about F and Cinch. Your comment about Gonzo, F-no and Dante is spot on. The Three Sleaze-migos.

I am looking forward to La Impostora as well, but since I don't have Telemundo I will have to watch online...and a day late.

How on earth could CI have been so popular? Is there any information on that?

At least two cast members from MPV are joining the cast of this series along with the actress who played Vainessa's loca madre in LQNPA.

Sara C, I'm looking forward to La impostora-Christian Bach is amazing; loved her in La Patrona.

You don't have to wait for Telemundo to upload it on their site, which can be spotty. Telemundo is pretty good about allowing people to upload their tns as long as they do it parts. Two or more people did this with La Patrona and TM didn't threaten them. In fact, it seemed to me that all the people watching it on YT made the show more popular-LP broke records in Mexico and Latin America and based on watching it on YT everyone wanted it in their country. The YT community for that TN was very rabid and the key to why LP won all the main premios at the Telemundo Premios.

I can see why people in Mexico would thing PSMA is boring because it is a bit more realistic, but I like the slow plot development. CI was truly awful and a waste. The actor who plays Gabino in Siempre is the replacement priest to Mariano on MPV.

UA, 5 Ft Latina said the products did a bait and wait on the viewers of CI-after the isla Dora a phase the Mexican viewers were complaining on social media but the producers reassured them that they'd give the viewers what they wanted and that they should hold on and wait. She also said the ratings dipped a bit the last few eps, so there's that.

What were they complaining about? I really don't get it.

Not that the story was even believable in the beginning, but it just.... [Emily Litella voice] never mind.

J desde NYC- Thanks for the info. I've never made it through an entire Telemundo show. I was watching DyO and Santa Diabla, but when school started I had to let some shows go since I was watching CI and Cachito at the time as well. Had I known about CI I would have dumped it and continued with DyO or Santa Diabla (but I get the impression they kind turned into a circo, too.)

I just watched a few promos for La Impostora and I want to see it even more knowing Manuel Landeta is in it! I've never seen Christian Bach in anything.

When I first read "Gabino" was the new priest I almost choked because I was thinking "Gabino" from AdP...then I reread. Whew.

UA-I'm interested to see who the new cast members will be. There are a lot of faces in the opening credits we have yet to see. I swear Chio from LQNPA is there with Bruno and Gaby.

I remember reading about the bait and switch on the CI thread, but I still don't understand it because there are sill a ton of episodes after the Isla Dorada phase. The Mexican audience must be very patient to have stuck with it so long. Maybe I am remembering it with a rosy glow of being the first show I recapped, but even TdA didn't feel as boring as CI has for the last two months.

Oh and UA-I'm tickled that loca mama will be on this. I like the actress.

This is the worst novela I didn't bail on. Corona de Lagrimas was the previous one I completely bailed out of. I wish Victoria Ruffo could do something other than cry.

Are you not liking this one, UA?

I sometimes had Corona de Lagrimas on as background noise and in addition to Ruffo's tears I never felt like any of the storylines were compelling or even interesting.

Thank you Sara for a great easy to read recap.

I don't have much to add, so many great comments already. I do agree
that So-not is going to have a hard time with Gaby on her case. I
do think that So-not will probably to keep them apart for a while. Remember So-not is a She-Devil and she's just getting warmed up.

I agree with you guys about Ozzie
ant Tita together. I hope we see more of them.

Fatima---F-no does have a CRAZED look. What a creep.

Question---In the intro every night we see F-no standing with a young lady. Isa and Art do not look happy. Could that lady be a grown up Aranza? I hope not.
the gringo

Gringo- Yes. The young lady is grown up Aranza. Obviously, there will be some twists in this story.

Gringo you've mentioned what's for me the most intriguing shot in the opening credits. I don't know if it's reflecting anything in the story or not but it looks like F-no will be a participant in turning Aranza against Isa. Yet another thing that keeps me watching.

Lo siento, Sara; I posted this to the wrong program. I am watching this one. I'm just hoping it doesn't change into something unrecognizable.

I can't get in to this TN. The galan is a mutt. His hair is too long, he has no lips, and his forehead is obnoxious. There is nothing attractive about him.

Sara C, you can go on YT now and catch up on SD. I stopped watching SD after the prota and Humberto got married but SD has A LOT of twists-not my thing but the caraymates watching it love it faults and all. You can watch all if La Patrona on YT to check out Christian bach's most recent villana turn. La patrona is what CI should have been if the Mejias were serious. Great cast, good, measured sensible writing and EXPERT EDITING , and a good moral message about the nature of revenge, mothers and sons, etc. Look for Fan de Novelas. She has uploaded most of the telemundo tns for the last year.

Sara:

Thanks so much for this splendid recap! I have always wished I could recap like you in the bullet style. It tells you everything!

I too can't believe that Isa fell for So-not's crap! I want Isa to be a bit more like Gaby. Now that trip was ruined for Isa.

I too agree about Osvaldo and Tita, she really went all out to look nice, I did like the gifts he gave to the girls, very sweet.

Can't stand F-No. I so want him to go to solitary or something, where he has no more access to threaten people. I really hope the cops keep tabs on Gonzo, he is out on parole, and I hope he goes to jail for quite some time. I really hope the cops find out that he is the one threatening Andrea.

UA I know what you mean about turning into something unrecognizable. CI is a perfect example. If I had not been keeping up with recaps I wouldn't have had a clue. There were so many new faces (and there was no time jump involved.)

J desde NYC thanks for the info. When I was in Costa Rica in June my "mama Tica" mentioned that she really liked LP. I'm not sure Aracely is my cup of tea though. I went and watched more Impostora promos and read the sinopsis and character blurbs. Now I really want to see it. I put a reminder on my phone. Que Pobres starts Jan 6 and Impostora the 14. I don't know how I'm going to keep up with 4 shows!

Anon10:21- Guy is older I admit. I'm not drawn to him for his physical looks (though I do find him attractive.) I'm drawn to his character. He's vulnerable and tender and he is kind. I'm hoping there's some toughness too. He will need it for the She devil.

Mads- your recaps are the bomb. My bullets are pure impatience. Sometimes I'm just ready to be done. I'm afraid the recapping of many a scene has suffered because of my bullets. I guess I should note to anyone watching that you can always ask for clarification.

And I think solitary is just what F-no needs. I cannot believe that Gonzo has so much access to him and law enforcement is not taking note.

Sara

LP was fabulous. I'm not an Araceley fan either back to her early days. Her voice annoys the bejeezus out of me however I am a huge fan of Jorge Luis Pila and when they brought in Diego Soldano to match off against Christian Bach all I can say is wow! The two of them being more mature were incredibly sexy together. A lot of us were frequently fanning ourselves. It really is great that now we can find a way to watch TN's through other media. In the old days it would have been too bad on you Charlie.

I can't stand Aracely Arambula. I haven't seen her in anything since CS 09, which she was inadequate for, but her early stuff with her "I'm sexy because I'm really a little girl" thing gets on my last nerve. I have only been enduring her in the rerun of Las Vias del Amor because of the rest of the cast.

Trust me, I never knew much about Aracely before watching her in Abrazame muy fuerte which was replaying on uni, I think, a few weeks before LP premiered on telemundo. But she was excellent in LP. I think the producers told her to deepen her voice in the role because her voice and the character 's voice she played, Gabriela Suarez/Veronica Dantes, were completely different. When I heard her actual voice I was surprised. I do think her becoming a Mom and the drama she had with Luis Miguel really grew her up because she was perfect as a mother trying to reclaim her son and clear her identity in LP.

She really didn't play up her sex appeal at all, even when she was in some form-fitting things. You can tell she liked and inhabited the character. Plus, the rest of the cast, Gabriel Garcia Vivanco, Erika de la Rosa, Alexandra de la Mora, and of course Jorge Luis Pila and Christian Bach, were excellent. The TN is a play on 'The Count Of Monte Cristo'. Give it a chance. It's a really good TN.

I agree with J desde NYC. After seeing Aracely (and hearing her) in Corazon Salvaje, and in bits of her old tns that were on during the day, and was surprised by how well she was able to deepen her voice and lose her sex kitten mannerisms for her role in La Patrona. She really lived the role. She was not the strongest actress among the stellar cast, but she held her own, and I think it was probably her best work yet.

Me rindo! Me rindo! Je je. I promise to watch the first capitulo. :)
