Por siempre mi amor #7 12/10/13: Beware of Aunts Bearing Gifts

Quick Recap for Tuesday"s episode by J Desde NYC

Sucia (Sonia) is gonna move in with Art Dad and Aranza; Dafne is not a total hater.  She says, in a caring way this time, that I did believe-good on that actress-that stepmothers can be witches like in storybooks and she knows from experience. Her father remarried and her stepmother is horrible.

Aranza is not taking her mother's death well.  In the garden with Lucha and Gabino, she remembers gardening with her mother and is overcome with grief. She runs from the garden to the bathroom and starts bawling incessantly crying out for her mother and says she wants to die since she has no one. Lucha tries to console her through the bathroom door which Aranza won't open.  Arturo gets Aranza to open the door by reminding her that he loves her and that she's the only one he has left in the world...(This was really heartbreaking and I hope Sucia's anvil for killing this child's mother will be strong. Aranza could have legitimately killed herself in her grief and sent Arturo over the edge.)

Feo and Gonzo are plotting how to get back on the gravy train that is Isabel.  Feo is convinced that Isa still loves him and he can get her back, as well as la tonta de Andrea; Gonzo suggests a flower a day to get Isa back. Feo is extra motivated to get Isa back because he has to move in with Gonzo and Gonzo's place isn't classy or neat enough for him.

Tita and Art's Dad Osvaldo hate-love each other--as in they hate that they're catching feelings for each other. They are cute though--we get a cute scene of Tita and Osvaldo arguing over bikers that come by--Tita says they're fun with spirit while Osvaldo says they're bums. Tita tells Osvaldo he's an uptight snob who bores her and she leaves. The important thing we find out from Tita before this argument is why Eugenia was taking anti-coagulants.  She had fibrilacion auricular-artial fibrilation--and according to a Google search and Tita it's a heart problem where the heart beats too fast. Eugenia was taking the anti-coagulants to avoid what happened to her, the stroke which lead to brain death.

Minerva (Abuela Meanie) spews a large cup on haterade on Andrea as Andrea and Agatha try to prepare Andrea to go to her new job and new life at Casa Arte.  La mona viste en seda, mona se queda-A monkey dressed in silk is still a monkey.  Basically, Meanie is saying her daughter won't fit in with Isabel's crowd and won't suceed because she's a loser. What a great mother...not! Later, after Andrea quits her job at the hospital (they don't pay her though since she didn't give them 30 days notice!) and gets Esteban’s records from his old school, Agatha encourages her to go work with Isa and put Esteban in that school Isa signed him up for because even though she's scared and doesn't think she deserves it, she's a great girl who deserves the good coming to her.  Agatha is a great neighbor!

Isa and Andrea go to the police station to report Feo for bigamy.  Assault and abandonment charges are added when Andrea describes the assault Feo was attempting before he got the sartenazo (hit upside the head with a frying pan; it is so cool there is a Spanish word for this!) and when Andrea shows proof that she was married to him first and had children by him.  (I'm surprised Feo's name was on both Esteban's and Angelito's birth certificates; but that's probably why Andrea believed in Feo for so long-he'd claimed both the children.) There's an arrest warrant put out for Feo. Later on at Casa Arte Isa's lawyer tells her he's also going to add the theft charges to Feo's crimes since they have proof he stole from Isa; they need to put all the charges together to ensure he doesn't get away.

Sucia moves in and promises her support for Aranza and Art and I cringe. Sucia goes to a toy store with a friend to get a big gift for Aranza with the express purpose to disturb Aranza so much that she'll leave the house.  Meanwhile Aranza has to be picked up at school; the school psychologist says she's crying unconsolably and Arturo needs to bring her home. Dafne comes in the school psychologist's office to tell the psych that Art is there to get Aranza. The psych goes to meet Art while Dafne and Aranza talk.  Dafne, still in caring mode, tells Aranza that the things she has said about step-mothers isn't to disturb her but warn her about her aunt and other women who're after her Dad.  Her aunt is gonna try to buy her off with presents to show Art that "she loves you" but it's a lie.  And the bigger the present, Dafne warns, the worse the potential step-mother is (Dafne sure has Sonia's number).

Sucia comes home with a ginormous light pink teddy bear--I mean it's huge!--and Aranza, instantly recalling what Dafne said, freaks out!  "I don't want this present," Aranza says, obviously frightened. Aranza tells Sucia she doesn't want the present since it takes up her entire bed. She wants Sucia to get out of her house away from her and her father.  Sucia upbraids Aranza for talking to her rudely and grabs her and shakes her a bit telling her to shut up.  The little dog Aranza has does nothing to help her...surely that dog is not as astute as Tito in MPV...He would have taken a hunk out of Sucia for grabbing Aranza. Anyway, Sucia continues to shake Aranza and Aranza kicks Sucia in the shin and tells her to get out of her house.  Sucia screams out that Aranza hurt her and Lucha and Gabina come in to see what's going on.  Aranza is a mess crying and begging Lucha that Sucia goes away while Sucia cries possum about how hurt she is.

Thank you J Desde NYC for doing double duty and writing a brief recap for Tuesday's episode.
Corazon Salvaje is okay and I will post his recap a little later on today.
Wednesday's recap will be posted a little as well.
A lot of reading today, but thank you Viewerville for your patience. :-)

J-
Daphne has changed her mean girl words to words of wisdom. What a little prophet. She sees what many of the adults don't see. She hit the nail on the head with the ginormous teddy bear. What a dust collector. Sucia is the ultimate mean girl.
The Tita and Osvaldo interaction is cute to say the least. They have each there's numbers.
I am saddened by the suffering of little Aranza. I guess it's too much for her to receive some grief counseling. I don't care for the suffering of children and this poor little thing has suffered enough and it seems as if there is more to come especially with Sucia showing her claws. Ay yi yi!!

J Desde NYC - this was great. Yes, thank you for doing double duty.

"Arturo gets Aranza to open the door by reminding her that he loves her and that she's the only one he has left in the world...(This was really heartbreaking" - ITA! "Feo and Gonzo are plotting how to get back on the gravy train that is Isabel: was my favorite line.

Feo and Gonzo are amazing. How did two such good for nothing unappealing men go so far? Guess there is a lot to be said for lying, flattering and cheating.

Tablet jefa, "Sucia is the ultimate mean girl". So true!

Diana

J- I've left my comments on your other recap, but I wanted to thank you for also giving us this bonus recap.

J:

Thanks so much for doing two recaps. Really like your style. I left a comment on your other recap : )
