Caray, Caray!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all staying warm. We have had very nice weather here in the Northwest for the last couple of weeks, but alas, the rain has come back.

This episode was not the same as the one I watched online that was broadcast in Mexico. Some scenes were cut out and others were added at the end. Usually I watch the episode I'm recapping at least three times but because of the changes I only saw some scenes once. Hopefully I got everything right. If not, please feel free to correct in the comments.

This was kind of a downer episode, so snark is in short supply. But I did think that this is the episode where we officially enter the "TN Beanie" phase. So choose your style:

Leftovers:
At home after the costumed fiesta, Aranza gets a text from "Javier". She squeals with delight.

Entrée du Jour:
Aranza texts Javier back. He reads the message out loud then laughs about getting his romantic swag from a book of "Best Love Quotations". Sonia isn't impressed, but Feo says Aranza's no expert on love so she'll never know his romantic lines come from a book. Just look who she's dating, my son! He laughs some more. Besides, he knows how to win women's hearts, especially hearts belonging to dunces like Aranza.

Arturo brings Isabel breakfast in bed. He feeds her, they talk about fruit.

Ileana has come to apologize to Aranza which I don't understand since Ileana wasn't the one kissing a creep at the fiesta. Aranza wants to know why Ileana told Esteban about the party. She denies telling him. Well then, how did he find out? The real tattletale, Dafne, comes in sobbing over her situation at home. Her parents don't know why they had her. They only got married because her mother got pregnant. They never wanted her.

Our ever resourceful Meanie has taken it upon herself to find Esteban a tutoring job. She tells him that he can make good money. Esteban wants to talk to his teachers to find out how much to charge for tutoring. He thanks Meanie for finding him a pupil and heads off to school. After Esteban leaves, Meanie folds the tablecloth back to reveal a card game. Her Grandson's new job will be a good source of gambling money. She needs to practice.

Bruno and Ally are taking in the sights of Mexico City. They run into Nick and Gabi who are doing the same thing! Gabi motions toward the Museum of Fine Arts that Bruno was just showing Ally. Maybe they should all go see it? The four of them continue on their tour together.

Arturo has overheard Dafne's story about her sad home life. He tells Isabel he can't understand how parents can be so cruel. Isabel knows too well that some parents don't care at all about their kids; take Fernando for instance. Arturo reminds her that Feo is out of her life forever so she shouldn't think about him. Isabel nods in agreement then asks Arturo to take her shopping for baby things.

Ileana needs to go meet her mother. After her good-byes Aranza can no longer contain herself. Breathlessly she tells Dafne the news, she's met a man, "Javier", who "knocked her socks off." They squeal excitedly. Dafne wants to meet Javier. Call him right now and set it up! Aranza isn't sure about calling him, after all she already has Esteban. Then Dafne gets a brilliant idea! Aranza should go to a fortune teller, someone who can read cards or tea leaves or mouse entrails and tell her the future! That can only help, right?

At Sonia's, Methuselah brings Feo his new passport and license. Feo wants to experience his new identity right now. He leaves with Methuselah.

Nick suggests the little tour group stop and have lunch. Ally and Gabi want to go to a nearby restaurant that is supposed to be wonderful. Bruno says no; suddenly he's not feeling well.

Mari and the kids are having a slow sales day. As Daniel approaches them he hears the kids say they're hungry because breakfast was hours ago. Can they go for tacos? He offers to buy them lunch. At first Mari says no, but after the kids beg her to let Daniel take them, she relents.

After lunch the kids hurry to set up their wares. Mari wants to know why Dan is pursuing her. He confesses that he likes her. She's very pretty. Hasn't anyone ever told her that? "No. I think you're just toying with me. And I'm not interested in having a boyfriend." But thanks anyway.

Feo is enjoying his new identity and the freedom that comes with it. He spots Isabel, in a wheelchair, and Arturo coming out of a store. She drops her keys. Before Arturo can retrieve them for her Feo dashes over and picks them up. He hands them to Isabel. She stares. He smiles big. Arturo thanks him and Feo walks off. Isabel does not recognize Feo but still she senses something. She is uneasy and doesn't want to shop anymore, she wants to go right home.

The tarot reader lays down cards, "You have one young man and one not-so-young man in your life." Aranza really wants to know what her future is with Javier. After flipping more cards the tarot reader tells her, "The only way you'll know is to give it a chance." And she paid (Arturo's!) good money for this!

After the card reading Dafne confesses to Aranza that she is the one who told Esteban about Aranza going to the party. She urges Aranza to give Javier a chance. Because we all know that will leave Esteban for her.

Feo is amazed that Isabel didn't recognize him. Sonia says getting close to Isabel was a stupid thing to do. Yes, it was risky, but Feo thrives on danger, he likes the adrenaline rush. He was surprised to see that Isabel is pregnant. Sonia tells him the baby is due in three months. He shouldn't worry about Isabel, instead he should be concentrating on seducing Aranza. Feo laughs, "If I marry Aranza, Isabel would be my segunda madre."

Esteban and Ileana meet for coffee. She has her notes from tutoring They talk and she says she's glad to have a friend she can trust. They hug each other. Aranza and Dafne have walked into the coffee shop and see the hug. Dafne is certain that Ileana is trying to steal Esteban. Aranza starts to walk over and decides against it. She turns to go. Outside Dafne wants to know why Aranza didn't confront them. "Because I kissed someone at the party. I can't accuse him of cheating on me when I cheated on him." Dafne still wants to meet Javier and as if on cue Aranza's cell phone rings. Javier couldn't wait to talk to Aranza. Can they get together for lunch tomorrow? Aranza can't make lunch, but she can meet him later in the afternoon. She hangs up, confused about the situation. "It's simple," Dafne says, "Who do you want more, Esteban or Javier?"

Back at home, Isabel tells Gabi about her nightmare and about the guy who approached her outside the store. His eyes and voice reminded her of Fernando. Gabi chides her, "You're imagining things. Fernando is dead."
"You're right. I'll try to control my imagination." Isabel has a contraction. Lucha and Gabi get worried and want to call the doctor. "No, it's over. I'm okay." Isabel doesn't want to worry Arturo and asks Gabi and Lucha to keep this between them. Arturo comes in to tell Isabel that he has to go talk to Bruno about some work matters. Gabi mentions that Bruno wasn't feeling well and hopes he's better now.

Ally needs something to do. Zenaida suggests a fitness club. Ally thinks she'd like to help Tita with her charity work. Zenaida discourages her. "Why would you want to listen to old people talk about their health problems?" Seriously, this storyline is pointless. I don't know why Tita is hiding her work with the biker group. They're feeding street kids for crying out loud. It's not like they're dealing drugs or selling weapons.

Bruno tells Arturo he can't stand seeing Gabi with Nick and Ally knows it. Maybe Bruno's made a big mistake coming back to Mexico. Arturo wants an honest answer to his question, "Why did you marry Ally?" Bruno gives the lame excuse that he didn't think about Gabi while he was in Spain, he was moving on with his life, blah, blah, blah. But when he saw Gabi... "I feel affection for Ally, but I love Gabi."
The ever insightful Arturo opines, "You have a big problem."
Bruno feels like he's in a dead-end tunnel and he doesn't know what to do.

In Feo's tiny "maid's quarters" Sonia's phone rings. It's a very angry Rodolfo. He demands to know where Sonia is and why she isn't here to greet/comfort/cater to him. She lies and tells him she's checking on the laundry and she'll be right there. Sonia is mystified as to why Rodolfo has shown up on the weekend. They both agree this was a very close call. If they had been downstairs Rodolfo would have caught them for sure. Feo muses that maybe this close call is really an opportunity. He tells Sonia that he has another plan and she skedaddles back to Sugar Daddy.

Aranza brings a tray with dinner to Isabel. She's sorry she didn't know Isabel had been hospitalized. Aranza is all smiles until she hears that the baby will be named Miguel. She wanted him named Eugenio after her mother. Isabel tries to explain why she and Arturo chose the name Miguel but Aranza's having none of it. When she learns that Arturo is hiring a driver for Isabel she storms out. The Drama Queen's exit doesn't seem to bother Isabel all that much. Except for the few rough spots she's happy about the change in Aranza's attitude. What change in Aranza's attitude? I never noticed.

Tita and Osvi have returned from their weekend. Osvi promises he'll rock Tita's world on their next trip. Bruno overhears them planning their "honeymoon" and gets all weirded out. He doesn't even want to think that Tita might still have a fire in her furnace.

Aranza argues with Esteban on the phone. She wants to know why he didn't call and he wants to know why she didn't call. Aranza yells that she saw him with Ileana at the coffee shop. She hangs up. Later,  Esteban tells Christian that things have changed with Aranza since they became novios and not for the better. Still he wants to save their relationship.

Rodolfo wants Sonia to comfort him. Eww. Eww. Eww. I need mind bleach.

Dante hands Borlas a big wad of cash and thanks him for all the help on the "job". "Stick with me and you'll earn lots more." After Dante leaves Mari comes out of the bedroom and spots the cash on the table. She picks it up and asks, "Who did you kill?" Borlas denies he did anything wrong, but Mari says she saw all the TVs, electronics and expensive things he and Dante were unloading and putting in the storage room.  Mari asks, "Where did you get all that stuff?" Borlas isn't telling.

Feo tells Wilson the doorman that he's going to do the "test" and find out how trustworthy Wilson is. He goes outside and calls someone on his phone. We see Rodolfo leaving the garage in his car. He's looking at his phone as he is driving out. Feo waits on the curb until just before Rodolfo's car passes. He steps off the curb into the car's path. Rodolfo hits him. Feo flys off the hood and lies still on the street.
