Feo is free! Let the evil games begin. The actor did look like he had a ton of fun in the scene with the fire. Never saw Velo, was there a similar jail break?

Clarifications: Everyone was celebrating Father's Day. Esteban had dinner with his dad and family, and Ara with her dad and grandpa before their date. Dafne's dad preferred to spend the day with his 2nd wife and little son, and her mom preferred to spend it with her new husband. That's why Ara and Art said she could spend the day with them, and that she's always welcome. It was quite sad, really.

Mari said it was the prefect, the head of the orphanage, who had been abusing her all those years, and pointed out that Cuca and Padre never believed her. Cuca felt guilty for a few seconds, then became scandalized that Mari and Borlas have 5 kids, which Padre told her was impossible.

Tita isn't trying to avoid Ally. She's trying to hide her motorcycle group activities from her and Bruno. She used the excuse of going to the vet to sneak out and ride and meet her group.

I feel bad for Ally, she wants to belong and has been thrown into a situation that is uncomfortable, the words inquiring mind comes up when I see her. Bendito.
No, you are not the only one to notice gMeanie's glare at Mau. I don't trust her as far as I can throw her. 10 years later and she is still faking with the cane. Come on, although by the hairdo makes her look 10 years younger.

The Father's Day celebration at the jail was hard to believe. Are things really that lax? So it's not just me, it seem like Feo is looking at the camera and smiling at us. The Devil indeed.
The Tita and Ally visit, talk about an elephant in the room.
Your description of the Ara- Este kiss before the movies- hilarious but true. What a good and honorable guy Este is.
I am not surprised at Feo's jail break and yes he yelled out right in front of the jail that he's free. Why not? No one is manning the cameras. The whole jailbreak is exactly as I would have envisioned except Feo could have just walked out, he didn't need to be in drag. Who would have noticed?? I guess that it will take another 10 years until forensics step in and pieces together what really happened. Onward.

I laughed at your description of Este extracting himself from the temptation of going further with Ara. He looked so sweet when he smiled and tried to convince her to go to the movies instead.

Nice to see Andy and Mau and the family. Even with Meanie trying to be a downer, there is a lot of love and laughter in that house. I notice that Gema became their maid after all. And Meanie hasn't stopped her habit a pushing her family to marry for money, instead of love.

It seems that Ara and Este have been novios since they were 9, but they only formalized it six months ago. Clearly, Este is going about this the very old fashioned way, where moving to the novio stage means a clear intent to marry some day. That's probably why it took so many years until they officially became novios. It's not taken so seriously by most these days.
 

Great work on a great episode.

Aranza should get a good spanking for the disrespect shown for her father and grandfather on Father's Day, considering that she is lucky enough to have them. Most of the others don't have fathers in any real sense of the word.

Points to Esteban for his caution. However that might be the gateway to the evil being planned by Sonia.

Gilberto deserves better than her for a daughter. I know he's her stepfather but I'm betting she was very young when he and her mother married, as she never mentions her biological father.

Jailbreak-loved the outfits and makeup donned by the 3 stooges but strike one for the get away. With all the attention to detail so far in this TN they could have done a better job.

Ally- you had every right to chide Bruno about not mentioning Gabi. Perhaps a swift kick to his manhood?

Daphne- I almost felt sorry for you-not

Cucu- 5 kids in 3 years. Come on

Mari- good call about Dante but watch your back and you gotta know from living on the street for 3 years your product may have a questionable past

Enjoyed "Dungeon-err, Stony Lonesome-err, Jail (yeah that's right)", "I like how Ally however seems to understand why she isn't really welcome)", " Este then looks tempted but resists her coils" and my favorite "Feo pulls off her wig and screams ESTOY LIBRE because he is only like RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE JAIL STILL! (Beanie moment) Mastermind in deed."

Vivi, thanks for also adding some additional insights - I did not recognize Gema, appreciate your pointing that out.

When Gil met Daniel at the airport, it seemed as though Gil stopped Daniel from hugging him, sticking out his arm for a handshake instead. Thought that was odd and seemed out of character.

I felt for both Dafne and Mari. Both had very unhappy childhoods but both seemed to handle it differently as Mari seems infused with kindess but Dafne seems rather hardened, keeping a protective wall about her. I'm glad Mari told Cuca that she never believed her, yet did not do so in an angry manner. As far as Dafne, her guard was down last night and just she seemed lonely and vulnerable.

Surprisingly, I felt for Ally as well. She desperately wants to be included but the situation is making it nearly impossible. Also, Gaby, I really like you, but you should have put the picture of you and Bruno away a long time ago. I think Ally was upset and understandably so - she handled the situation (by saying nothing) far more graciously than I would have. While hard on Gaby, this is a difficult situation for her too. I think there is still something unsettling about Ally, but fair is fair.

Liking Esteban more and more but I still feel the same way about Ara that I did Nikki in AV - selfish and spoiled and immature in general. I hold out hope that Ara, now an adult, will begin to make her own decisions and disregard Sonia's poison.

Feo is free. What a disaster this is sure to be.

Thank you for the recap. I read the recaps because they are far better than the story. Art is way past his prime as an exciting romantic lead. Bruno is too much a crybaby and mama's boy. Gaby sent him packing in no uncertain terms and then proceeded to display pictures of him and her at home and in the office and on top of that, expected him to carry a torch forever. All that with no contact in 10 years and now his wife is regarded with a great deal of disdain by both Gaby and Tita. Aranza and Sonia's conniving is tiresome and this TN needs some help in holding my interest but the recaps are good.
 

I too thought it silly Gabi still had a photo of she and Bruno displayed.

Certain Bruno had one of Gabi but it was pinned to a dart board.

I'm struggling with what Sonia brings to the table for Aranza especially since she has already started attacking her relationship with Esteban. Maybe it is just how to be a manipulative weasel like she did to get her car back.

I'm hoping the action picks up with Fernando back in the saddle but can't square how an escapee will be able to walk around. I hope it does not get silly. Sonia sitting there in her car at the prison and them piling in was like it was her day to carpool and the kids glad it was Friday.
 

Sonia isn't benefitting Aranza, only herself.

She played on Aranza's perfectly normal fear upon her mother's death and blew it up into a toxic hatred for Isabel. I don't think she thought it through very well because she probably thought Isabel would bolt rather than hang in there.

Hence the paint on the wedding dress, which reminded me of Lucia di Lammermoor.

Sonia is using Aranza as a tool to destroy Arturo and/or Isabel. With Feonando out of the slammer they will probably cook up a scheme to kidnap or kill the baby that will be born in about another dozen episodes.
 

So Sonia wanted Art for the picket fence, family and the dough and killed her cousin for it. Once Eugina is dead she works Arturo and Aranza but the Art thing wasn't going to happen (Aranza had issue and so did Art)so she blames it on Isabel (However Art still wouldn't have her even if Isabel gets hit by a truck). So the best she can do is torment Isabel using Aranza but her real endgame is what? I know she is in league with Fernando but that is revenge only and no money in it.
 

Didn't watch last night because I checked out La Impostora and talk about off to a fast start! I don't know when Christian Bach killed her first victim in La Patron but only 30 minutes in on this she scored her first.

Anyway this story is getting repetitive and nothing much ever seems to really happen. OK Feo getting out of jail is one thing but the relationships are all ho hum.

I'm not surprised at Gil holding his son off at arms length, He is a military man and raised his son to be one and so the more "manly" behavior. Daniel on the other had is a softie and didn't really want to go to military school so I see conflict ahead on that score.

Ally/Tita feel for Ally who consistently shows far better manners and behavior than Tita who is old enough to know better and who was always quick to lecture Arabrat about her bad behavior. Obviously it is a case of do as I say not as I do. And why keep her biker club activities such a secret — it would be a great bonding opportunity with Ally. Oops that's right she doesn't want to bond with the poor girl. For shame.

Isa and Art + the most boring portagonists EVER. I've got no problem with the leads being more mature than the usual but must they be so tepid. I'm thinking this story is going downhill rapidly especially when focused on them.

As for Esteban he is the sweet boy we met in the beginning but he is too good for Arabrat and any of her friends and is alas boring.
 

I watched LI too last night and a lot went down. Actually the first victim was her granddaughters dog.

How in the hell will Art and Isabel compete with the likes of that so this one better get cracking.

Esteban unfortunately the innocent bowling pin (victim - as was Eugina)minding their own business and a drunk driver runs them over. Beginning to think that is the only reason he has a part. Gotta have somebody to smack around.
 

Thanks for this recap Corazon and thanks for filling in for me last week. Haven't seen LI yet but I remember that in LP Christian Bach killed her second husband in the first scene of that novela. Ms Bach movesvfast in her villany in tns.

This TN is boring-Art and Isa are so not compelling-but I'll still watch.

I forgot that in LP basically because I missed the first episode. In this one the dog and another character gone 30 minutes in. However in this one the hero moved fast too and kissed the girl in about 40 minutes. Gee and the dead wife came back at the end. Lots of action unlike this increasing snooze fest. I've spent so much time i'll probably pop in and out of it and read the snark.

I have come to dislike so many of these people it is annoying to watch them.

I totally hated the Tita Gaby high school behavior. Reminds me on some of the behavior I find despicable in my own sex. Both of them need to get over themselves. Gaby threw Bruno away and not gently and now she wants him back. Tita had it fixed in her mind that Bruno and Gaby should be together and now that they aren't she's sure to try and make Ally so miserable she'll be gone. It interests me that while Bruno apparently didn't have much contact with the Mexico folks he obviously spoke of them enough that Ally knew who they all were. He didn't mention Gaby but I don't know many men who would tell their new woman about one who broke their heart. He certainly had no way of knowing that Gaby was still carrying a torch and that everyone would side with her. I'm willing to be he thought she had moved on and her involvement with his family was strictly through her business and friendship ties with Isa.

I can't imagine how awful it would be to be in a new country alone and having to deal with such hostility. Ally may or may not be a snob but she has infinitely better manner than Tita and Co.
 

I think the award for most boring couple ever goes to Jesus and Alma in PEAM. But Art and Isa are right up there.

Fernando's escape defies logic. The guards herd all those people out and the visitors go right out onto the street? Really? Don't most prisons have fences around them? It was almost like Feo and his cohorts were walking out of the teacher's lounge after school. And waving your wig and screaming "freedom!" before the car ever leaves the curb? Good grief.

One thing I wasn't sure of, was there more than one new prisoner's body left behind? Feo escaped with 2 others so I assume there was a body for each left behind.
 

Kathy- That's a good question. I thought I saw two wrapped up bodies in the cell-- one on the upper bunk (the guy who’s supposed to be Feo in the red blanket), and one on the lower bunk in a gray blanket. It would be stupid of the other two escapees to not get their own stand-ins. Otherwise, the police will eventually start a manhunt for them. But those two guys didn't look so sharp anyway.

If all you guys are bailing on this, then there won’t be much incentive to stay. :( I do really like Esteban (Pablo Lyle), and I’m not as sure as the rest of you that he’ll just let himself be used and abused. He’s a sweetheart, but nothing about him screams pushover to me. He seems to be a determined and strong-minded young man.

I am losing interest in this novela, but maybe Feo will mix things up now that he has made his clever, remarkable prison escape. (Que ?????) Feo makes a very unattractive woman, but then again he also makes an unattractive man.
 

ViviDC, I'm not bailing (if I hung in there for the stupid CI parade I can do this) and think outside the great escape last night everything has been well done. Still lots of story to tell and characters to develop.

I too think Esteban will not be a pushover though he is a gentleman, respectful and mature.

I watched LI on Verizon Vios so can do both
 

Well even Isabel wears the wrong shade of lipstick occasionally and Gabi had a bad do so I give Femando a pass but will need a makeover

This is not the fastest moving TN, but I like it and plan to stick around. It doesn't feel like CI (yet?)

I think the original had 195 episodes and the fin in Mexico is planned for May 4 (if sources quoting SG can be believed) so I think we are talking 140ish episodes--less than CI, AdP and TdA...all of which really ended up feeling like torture to me.

I can't remember if I've said it before, but I feel like this is not a typical TN. It's more about human interaction and not necessarily secrets, venganza and action, action, action. All the characters are flawed and I want to see how it all plays out.

And a stupid reason I like it: pretty good costuming. :-)
 

Sara, ITA about the costuming in this. It's great. Isa is like the prettiest pregnant woman ever! I think this one feels a bit too realistic. There are no heroes, other than Este, Mau and Andy so far, and they are all so flawed. I can't stand Art for one and the plot moves so slowly.

I only like the auxiliary characters and I can barely understand grown up Aranza. I don't think Este will be a push-over either, but Ara so does not deserve him.
 

J-How did you know pregnant Isa was EXACTLY what I was thinking when I wrote that? I'm also LOVING Tita's luke.

I've always had trouble with Thelma Madrigal, even when I was watching with English subtitles (PVAA.) I'm hoping it gets easier the more I hear her (she didn't get as much time in the chopped up PVAA DVD.)
 

PS: It's a little like MPV. I don't give much of a hoot about the main couple in this one either, but I like the auxiliary characters (Well, I like Isa.)
 

Good points about the realism and know or have known real people that made similar life decisions except Fernando who is over the top and clownish in a bad clown way. I also notice lots of detail in the sets and costuming, and despite those I don't like, the acting is really good and I believe them. Again Fernando does ham for the camera and lets us know, he knows, we are watching.
 

The mistakes Isa and Art have made are very true to life. They both still have a lot of suffering and learning to do, and I hope the best for them when it's all over.


 

I'm sticking with this, but most likely bailing on QPTR. I'm a couple episodes behind right now.

The new supernatural one on Telemundo looks interesting, though.
