Que Pobres tan ricos #15 01/24 (updated with more funny details) MA meets his rival; A prank attempt by Frida catches the wrong victim; MA makes daring move to protect Grandma; and the guest list at the fonda continues to expand.
MA reading the cover shot article inside the magazine ouside… reads one phrase about Mini having known all along she was meant to be with A-hole and that she always 'knew' she should not marry MA because she woul dnot be happy... ‘how can that be, I made her happy every time she came in my apartment in London !! Time and time and time and time again!!!’ then he reads about A-hole admitting that even with his reputation as a giggolo (and the secretaries kept after him!) his heart always belonged to Ms Fontaner… then says ‘She gave her heart to me every time she came by my door in my apartment in London!! I was the love of her life! I I I I!!!

AS replies that poor folks are poor on their own will. Carm asks 'then you WANT to be poor now and that is why you are here?? AS changes subject and asks them for some skim milk and croissants, but Chuy (calls her mi senora bella) says we only have bread buns (campechanas) and 'leche bronca' (I guess heavy milk)… Chuy and Carm leave. AS: And we have to deal with the crap of the popolacho… (Leo sits on bed, then AS sits and the bed begins to jump around) aahh!! This bed feels like the Titanic!

Alejo/Isela… they are eating out. Lobsters. A-hole makes small talk about lobsters as aphrodysiac food. Then he asks how are the wedding preps going? MI: it will be an event for the ages (talked about for many years) Isela puts her two cents worth about the honeymoon location.. does not like Egypt. better Paris, the city of the lovers and ‘where babies come from!!', Alejo likes the joke. Mini not so much. Later, Alejo and Mini talk about possibilities of honeymoon venue, a cruise down the Nile river? Isela invites herself. They will be in the cabin while she shops till she drops. Mini reminds her that honeymoons are for 2, not 3. Alejo agrees. He tries to give Isela a consolation by telling her they will travel together later. Isela mad at Mini, grunts: Don’t worry, I will stay and breathe in the city smoke. (Go ahead, metiche!)
Perla has already told JoseTizoc about MA hiding from the law. Jose wants to go grab him and turn him in already. But Perla tells him that MA is willing to sign the deed to Lupe for letting him hide there. But she doesn't want to take that deal. Jose will help her convince Lupe.They will twist Lupes hand to make a deal with them.

Lupe does not like them putting the pressure on her to keep the secret about her 'darn cousings from 'los United'' Frida just wanted to prevent Nepo from asking more questions about them (E.T.C., E.T.C.... she did spell out the abbreviation in spanish letter names LOL!). Lupe does not agree. That is a lie! Frida claims MA is not guilty, it was HEr idea, and it is a tiny tiny lie. Lupe says lies have no size, and sooner or later they come back to bite you (she surely has a problem with telling lies). MA says that phrase is very ‘nice’, did you make it up or read it in a book?' but it does not get you very far. So what should we do? go tell The Escandiondas guy the truth so he can question us some more? Really, not cool at all. MA goes to hug her (Leo is already laying on floor) and steps on Leo. MA says he loves it when she behaves like a princess. Frida says there's one good thing oiut of all this, it is the first time I have you so close for more than a few days. Frida knocks hard on Perla’s room. Accuses Perla of causing the burn incident intentionally. Perla recommends her to take cold showers, otherwise you might burn your eyelashes and without lashes you would become dumb. Perla leaves, Frida grabs some crème jar..and has a smirk of some prank she plans on playing on Perla.
Outside, MA is shivering from the cold night… he takes the fur jacket off from over Leo and Leo takes it back.
Frida is in some cabinet, grabs some white school glue and shoves it in a bag, comes out of the room saying ‘you will see, Ivette, you will pay for it’ but does not notice Jose Tizoc is there, she gets startled, then they begin to argue… about them eating. Jose says now you all are taking more than just the three meals. She reminds him the food is already paid for with the things MA gave Salomon and the things they borrowed for the party. He says that is pay for the breakfast, lunch and dinner, but not the snack foods they take during the day. So he will write down what she takes now and all the 'snacks' they take. But you seem to be fond of 'tixmix' food, are you going to eat some mole and pipian? She claims she is vegan. He says she just says it but it is just posing. Perla says you sure feel like a clone of Justin Bieber dancing around. Tone it down, 'loser'. Why don’t you try something else, like raising chickens/roosters? He tells her she 'poses' a rebel but is no more than a 'nina fresa sangrona' (snobbish rich girl/princess) She claims she has 'firm revolutionary convictions!' (these two argue so much I would bet they end up together in the end).
At the market Nepo is questioning Wendy and asks her to find out everything she can about MA and Frida. She will do it ‘for him’. Nepo is having a bad vibe about MA. Does not want a man like that near his Lupita.
In bathroom, Perla rushes Jose to finish up and get out of the bathroom. As she walks by him, she touches his back and comments that his skin is a bit dry… She gives him the jar of crème that Frida did something to… (oopsie, this can’t end up good… for Frida OR for JoseTizoc!)
At the orange building, A-hole arrives at office. Vilma is glad he came to work and is not mad for what happened with the Council. He is happy the wedding plans are moving along. (she looks down and voices happy to hear, but does not look it) He has to try and stay as president and get rid of that clan of old hags(the council). When he becomes the owner of the company he will figure out a way to get rid of them. She tells him there will be a board meeting. Seems the company finances are not going so well. A little problem surfaced. There are numbers in red (losses). Later, at board meeting, the financial blunder is again blamed on MA… A-hole backs up that theory. The guys ask A-hole to use the opportunity to show that he can pull the corporation out of the bad moment. He firmly accepts the challenge ‘I will make grandpa proud. I will prevent the corporation from going down. I will show you who is A-hole RP.’
Don Chuy and Lupe downstairs… they think JoseTizoc is taking long to get ready, Don Chuy jokes about Tizoc taking time to wax himself and all, what do they call that nowadays... he is a ‘retrosexual’ guy. Wendy arrives. She starts questioning Lupe about her ‘cousins’, saying this house is looking like a train station in rush hour (en hora pico ['peak of the rush' lol!]). Wendy starts babbling calling the saints and immediately begins charging toward MA (more like coming on to him, calling him 'cuero crunchy' that she will eat)… ‘you must be the famous cousin Mike’ right, papa-zul?’ MA is visibly taken aback/scared, shares glances with Lupe (she seems to enjoy his 'in a bind' moment) and then says ‘glad to meet you’… she shakes his hand, and pulls on it just as strong as Nepo (LOL!), he steps back as soon as he can and he bumps into something behind him. MA and Lupe continue to exchange glances (so sweet!!). Later, MA is sitting down, Wendy is all over him from behind, massagging his shoulders. She is surely coming on to him and he is about to pee his pants. She questions how old he was when he moved to 'al gabacho' (the US). He was not a kid. Perla comes down… has to follow on the story of the ‘cousins’. Perla won’t leave even though Perla tries to get her to. Wendy wants MA to go visit her at her beauty parlor. (MA puts his hands together and bows in a middle eastern way, moving his arms with hands together up and down, Lupe enjoys the moment). MA continues 'taking' with Lupe via exchanged glances.

Vilma tries to cheer him up… we could say you will find an associate investor, or sell one of the magazines, or you could move overseas or you can re-invest some of the money you took back to the company. He refuses to give any of HIS money!, reminds some of that money is invested elsewhere 'under your name, let me remind you! [Hmmm!!!]'. She suggests then they (he take her along) run away and hide out in the world where noone knows them... He undermines her efforts saying ‘I always have to fix the problems, right? Call Adolfo Giron!’
Lupe mocks (lots of ji ji ji jo jo jo) MA's interaction with Wendy, and questions how MA will tell her dad the story of the 'relatives from gringolandia' and that he is hiding here 'cause you are a delincuent!'. He asks 'if I had really commited that fraud, wouldn't I have escaped overseas by now??' She wants them all to fix the mess. If my dad finds out that the police are after you, he will kill you… or at least put a quebradora on you (a wrestling hold).. He asks her what that is. She is ready to show him (hits her chest, we hear the ring bells) and makes some moves for wrestling prep… Saul comes in, wonderinf if he interrupted something, tells MA he has the results of grandma Mati's (the pills content??), MA uses him as a shield and excuse to escape the 'quebradora'.

Jose Tizoc runs into Frida… She asks him what happened to him, asks him to look in a mirror, the crème he put on his face has caused a bunch of blisters all over his face… Leo arrives and is treated as a maid by Tizoc.
MA and Saul in Saul's car outside the home where Grandma is… seems MA wants to take her out without being seen. Saul goes to talk to the nurse to try distract her while MA makes his way around the patio to his grandma’s room. The nurse tells Saul the grandma is not well, but she can only give the details to A-hole. Saul insists, but she won’t bulge… she walks away so Saul has to follow her. MA has made it to Grandma’s room. Wakes her up. She actually is sane in head, asks him when he arrived from London. MA tries to convince her they have to leave. 'I can only promise that wherever we go you will be better off.' She asks him to promise he won’t take her to his A-hole’s. MA promises they will never be apart again (boy, that is a strong promise, MA). As they are about to leave, the nurse knocks on door asking why she (Grandma) locked the door. MA concerned. Saul arrives at the door with her… she has the keys, he tries to help. By the time the nurse manages to open the door, MA and Grandma have hidden behind another door… Saul notices where and stands covering the door. He hints MA that he is taking the nurse away and this is their chance. He demands she take him to her superiors right away. They leave. MA and grandma take off, using a wheelchair. She is enjoying the adventure very much, tells him she remembers he was very 'travieso' when he was a kid. Careful with the curves!What a way to slam the brakes. You are a true nascar driver… Out in patio, Nurse is on hand radio ordering everyone to look for Grandma. Saul warns her that MA will find out about this incident and Saul will register a demand against the clinic if Grandma does not appear. Sincereley yours, Lic Saul Ballesteros (saying it very business-like, as if reading a memo) Meanwhile MA has hidden grandma in a small dumpster on wheels. They run into a maintenance worker but MA manages some accent and the guy goes away. MA checks that Grandma is still ok even though the guy threw a bag of sheets on top of her. She is enjoying the adventure with 'Angelito'.
Don Chuy is serving AS and Leo some scrambled eggs. It is delicious!! He even puts tolucan sausage in them, but don't tell anyone, its a secret. AS says the eggs are overcooked… Chuy says no I did not put that in them, just sausage. AS says the ham looks a bit pale, could it be rotten?. Leo also criticizes the food, don't care for the beans. Chuy thinks they (Leo and AS) are very funny in their eating habits. Want some steak with juarache or without? Leo asks what a juarache is... AS says give me that and DaVinci will eat it. Maybe he will eat it, maybe not. I want some apple or grapes. Make sure you wash and disinfect them well. Don Chuy yells to kitchen 'these clouns don't want to swallow (eat) anything!!'
Frida comes down (finally has fixed her hair a bit), has some fun with Jose Tizoc ‘you still have something over here’(pointing to his face), he does not appreciate the joke and leaves in a huff… Frida sits down to eat with Leo and AS. AS nags at her for socializing (with Jose).. Frida asks her to tone it down a bit (bajale dos rayitas).
In Saul's car Grandma asks MA and Saul to take her home, your grandpa must be waiting for me. (she seems to be hopping in and out of reality/current time, still under the influence). MA explains they will go not home, but to a property that belonged to Grandpa. (Saul not so convinced its such a good idea that MA keeps bringing people there. Your cousin will not stay calm. He will look for her and if he finds her you'll be in even bigger trouble)
At Fonda, Wendy can’t wait for Perla to bring her up to speed on the ‘cousins’ story. But Perla has to leave (finally she has that good sense, at least for now). In kitchen, Carmelita and Lupita are conversing. Carmelita laughs at the ‘cousins’ story that Perla came up with. Lupita warns Carmelita and Perla that Don Chuy must not find out. Carmela asks Lupe why are you so scared your dad will find out? Lupe afraid Don Chuy will kill MA if he finds out. Carmela questions sure he will, but why so much interest in MA’s wellbeing? Don Chuy arrives and wants to know what the joke is. He turns to Perla, asks her why she is not working already.

Frida is in some cabinet, grabs some white school glue and shoves it in a bag, comes out of the room saying ‘you will see, Ivette, you will pay for it’ but does not notice Jose Tizoc is there, she gets startled, then they begin to argue… about them eating. Jose says now you all are taking more than just the three meals. She reminds him the food is already paid for with the things MA gave Salomon and the things they borrowed for the party. He says that is pay for the breakfast, lunch and dinner, but not the snack foods they take during the day. So he will write down what she takes now and all the 'snacks' they take. But you seem to be fond of 'tixmix' food, are you going to eat some mole and pipian? She claims she is vegan. He says she just says it but it is just posing. Perla says you sure feel like a clone of Justin Bieber dancing around. Tone it down, 'loser'. Why don’t you try something else, like raising chickens/roosters? He tells her she 'poses' a rebel but is no more than a 'nina fresa sangrona' (snobbish rich girl/princess) She claims she has 'firm revolutionary convictions!' (these two argue so much I would bet they end up together in the end).
At the market Nepo is questioning Wendy and asks her to find out everything she can about MA and Frida. She will do it ‘for him’. Nepo is having a bad vibe about MA. Does not want a man like that near his Lupita.
In bathroom, Perla rushes Jose to finish up and get out of the bathroom. As she walks by him, she touches his back and comments that his skin is a bit dry… She gives him the jar of crème that Frida did something to… (oopsie, this can’t end up good… for Frida OR for JoseTizoc!)
At the orange building, A-hole arrives at office. Vilma is glad he came to work and is not mad for what happened with the Council. He is happy the wedding plans are moving along. (she looks down and voices happy to hear, but does not look it) He has to try and stay as president and get rid of that clan of old hags(the council). When he becomes the owner of the company he will figure out a way to get rid of them. She tells him there will be a board meeting. Seems the company finances are not going so well. A little problem surfaced. There are numbers in red (losses). Later, at board meeting, the financial blunder is again blamed on MA… A-hole backs up that theory. The guys ask A-hole to use the opportunity to show that he can pull the corporation out of the bad moment. He firmly accepts the challenge ‘I will make grandpa proud. I will prevent the corporation from going down. I will show you who is A-hole RP.’
Don Chuy and Lupe downstairs… they think JoseTizoc is taking long to get ready, Don Chuy jokes about Tizoc taking time to wax himself and all, what do they call that nowadays... he is a ‘retrosexual’ guy. Wendy arrives. She starts questioning Lupe about her ‘cousins’, saying this house is looking like a train station in rush hour (en hora pico ['peak of the rush' lol!]). Lupe continues to call for Tizoc and tells Wendy they are an aunt, three cousins and a dog (LOL!). MA comes out. Wendy starts babbling calling the saints and immediately begins charging toward MA (more like coming on to him, calling him 'cuero crunchy' that she will eat)… ‘you must be the famous cousin Mike’ right, papa-zul?’ MA is visibly taken aback/scared, shares glances with Lupe (she seems to enjoy his 'in a bind' moment) and then says ‘glad to meet you’… she shakes his hand, and pulls on it just as strong as Nepo (LOL!), he steps back as soon as he can and he bumps into something behind him. MA and Lupe continue to exchange glances (so sweet!!). Later, MA is sitting down, Wendy is all over him from behind, massagging his shoulders. She is surely coming on to him and he is about to pee his pants. She questions how old he was when he moved to 'al gabacho' (the US). He was not a kid. Perla comes down… has to follow on the story of the ‘cousins’. Perla won’t leave even though Perla tries to get her to. Wendy wants MA to go visit her at her beauty parlor. (MA puts his hands together and bows in a middle eastern way, moving his arms with hands together up and down, Lupe enjoys the moment). MA continues 'taking' with Lupe via exchanged glances.
A-hole arrives at his apt enraged, followed by Vilma. You said they would not figure out the withdrawals! Vilma says it was inevitable, but the good thing is that the fraud is still being blamed on your cousin. A-hole not so relieved. 'What good will it do to me to be prez of a company that is ruined??!! Its like using a lawn mower on the highway! [LOL!!] like turning on a lamp without a lightbulb!' Vilma tries to cheer him up… we could say you will find an associate investor, or sell one of the magazines, or you could move overseas or you can re-invest some of the money you took back to the company. He refuses to give any of HIS money!, reminds some of that money is invested elsewhere 'under your name, let me remind you! [Hmmm!!!]'. She suggests then they (he take her along) run away and hide out in the world where noone knows them... He undermines her efforts saying ‘I always have to fix the problems, right? Call Adolfo Giron!’
Lupe mocks (lots of ji ji ji jo jo jo) MA's interaction with Wendy, and questions how MA will tell her dad the story of the 'relatives from gringolandia' and that he is hiding here 'cause you are a delincuent!'. He asks 'if I had really commited that fraud, wouldn't I have escaped overseas by now??' She wants them all to fix the mess. If my dad finds out that the police are after you, he will kill you… or at least put a quebradora on you (a wrestling hold).. He asks her what that is. She is ready to show him (hits her chest, we hear the ring bells) and makes some moves for wrestling prep… Saul comes in, wonderinf if he interrupted something, tells MA he has the results of grandma Mati's (the pills content??), MA uses him as a shield and excuse to escape the 'quebradora'.
Jose Tizoc is using the crème/glue, puts quite a bit right on his face…. One.. two…
MA and Saul are looking at the results, Grandma was right! this treatment is making her worse, not better!! Saul asks 'who could be doing this to her? (in the best tradition of the cluelessness of his character of LFMB). MA rants at him.. are you really asking that? A-hole!! who else?? Saul says that is a very serious accusation. Maybe it is just medical negligence on the geriatric clinic (nursing home?). MA has to do something, can’t let A-hole kill her slowly. As they run out, Lupe asks if he has a problem. MA just says have to go take care of a serious issue of his grandma's.
Jose Tizoc runs into Frida… She asks him what happened to him, asks him to look in a mirror, the crème he put on his face has caused a bunch of blisters all over his face… Leo arrives and is treated as a maid by Tizoc.
MA and Saul in Saul's car outside the home where Grandma is… seems MA wants to take her out without being seen. Saul goes to talk to the nurse to try distract her while MA makes his way around the patio to his grandma’s room. The nurse tells Saul the grandma is not well, but she can only give the details to A-hole. Saul insists, but she won’t bulge… she walks away so Saul has to follow her. MA has made it to Grandma’s room. Wakes her up. She actually is sane in head, asks him when he arrived from London. MA tries to convince her they have to leave. 'I can only promise that wherever we go you will be better off.' She asks him to promise he won’t take her to his A-hole’s. MA promises they will never be apart again (boy, that is a strong promise, MA). As they are about to leave, the nurse knocks on door asking why she (Grandma) locked the door. MA concerned. Saul arrives at the door with her… she has the keys, he tries to help. By the time the nurse manages to open the door, MA and Grandma have hidden behind another door… Saul notices where and stands covering the door. He hints MA that he is taking the nurse away and this is their chance. He demands she take him to her superiors right away. They leave. MA and grandma take off, using a wheelchair. She is enjoying the adventure very much, tells him she remembers he was very 'travieso' when he was a kid. Careful with the curves!What a way to slam the brakes. You are a true nascar driver… Out in patio, Nurse is on hand radio ordering everyone to look for Grandma. Saul warns her that MA will find out about this incident and Saul will register a demand against the clinic if Grandma does not appear. Sincereley yours, Lic Saul Ballesteros (saying it very business-like, as if reading a memo) Meanwhile MA has hidden grandma in a small dumpster on wheels. They run into a maintenance worker but MA manages some accent and the guy goes away. MA checks that Grandma is still ok even though the guy threw a bag of sheets on top of her. She is enjoying the adventure with 'Angelito'.
Don Chuy is serving AS and Leo some scrambled eggs. It is delicious!! He even puts tolucan sausage in them, but don't tell anyone, its a secret. AS says the eggs are overcooked… Chuy says no I did not put that in them, just sausage. AS says the ham looks a bit pale, could it be rotten?. Leo also criticizes the food, don't care for the beans. Chuy thinks they (Leo and AS) are very funny in their eating habits. Want some steak with juarache or without? Leo asks what a juarache is... AS says give me that and DaVinci will eat it. Maybe he will eat it, maybe not. I want some apple or grapes. Make sure you wash and disinfect them well. Don Chuy yells to kitchen 'these clouns don't want to swallow (eat) anything!!'
Frida comes down (finally has fixed her hair a bit), has some fun with Jose Tizoc ‘you still have something over here’(pointing to his face), he does not appreciate the joke and leaves in a huff… Frida sits down to eat with Leo and AS. AS nags at her for socializing (with Jose).. Frida asks her to tone it down a bit (bajale dos rayitas).
In Saul's car Grandma asks MA and Saul to take her home, your grandpa must be waiting for me. (she seems to be hopping in and out of reality/current time, still under the influence). MA explains they will go not home, but to a property that belonged to Grandpa. (Saul not so convinced its such a good idea that MA keeps bringing people there. Your cousin will not stay calm. He will look for her and if he finds her you'll be in even bigger trouble)
At Fonda, Wendy can’t wait for Perla to bring her up to speed on the ‘cousins’ story. But Perla has to leave (finally she has that good sense, at least for now). In kitchen, Carmelita and Lupita are conversing. Carmelita laughs at the ‘cousins’ story that Perla came up with. Lupita warns Carmelita and Perla that Don Chuy must not find out. Carmela asks Lupe why are you so scared your dad will find out? Lupe afraid Don Chuy will kill MA if he finds out. Carmela questions sure he will, but why so much interest in MA’s wellbeing? Don Chuy arrives and wants to know what the joke is. He turns to Perla, asks her why she is not working already.
MA immediately arrives and is giving an intro presentation (babble about them all being family here) to then drop the bomb… ‘have a favor to ask of you all’… Jose Tizoc won’t let him even say… MA brings out Grandma.. Frida and AS startled, even Davinci, who is wearing a beautiful polka dot outfit, is staring at Grandma (how cute!). Don Chuy not happy that MA brought more ‘mouths to feed’, this is not a hotel!

My favorite moment tonight was how Grandma loved the 'escape adventure' ... and i am really liking the chemistry between Lupe and MA... sometimes speechless. just glances seem to say what they need to say. love it... it is not a passional chemistry, more like a sweet one... very cute/sweet.

DaVinci was there, although his outfit wasn't a perfect match for Ana Sofi's. Loved MA trying to steal the fur jacket from Leo. His fear of Wendy was hilarious and justified. She was really coming on to him.
Grannie Mati was fun, buying into the escape. Surely she'll be able to charm Don Chuy and keep her brood under control (I hope).

Marta, you are wonderful! I can't wait to catch up with these episodes this weekend. I have really appreciated the recaps since this began. I so agree with you about Lupe and MAs chemistry. They say so much with just a glance and I always prefer the sweet/cute chemistry over the smoldering sexy chemistry. It makes me feel like the couple is REALLY a couple through thick and thin...not just *ahem* horny.
Does anyone here watch MPV? Leo showed up there last night in the role of a newscaster. It was almost weird to see him as the serious journalist. He's doing the "mirrey" role here to perfection.

I love that little dog and I'm not a dog person. Chihuahuas particularly annoy me with their yapping ankle biting ways but this little guy is a charmer. I wonder if he actually belongs to Sylvia. He seems comfortable with her and his wardrobe. Loved the polka dots last night.
Agree about the chemistry between Lupe and MA and think that is a good thing for a comedy preferable to the hot and heavy which might interrupt the natural flow and pace of something that is supposed to be light weight.
I think Frieda had some cream or conditioner to tame her mane. Love the by play between her and Jose and Perla. The three of them are acting like siblings, bickering and trying to one up each other. I think that is something that Frieda never had with her brothers who are noticeably older than she is.
Th RP's really are a screwed up group. Couldn't believe that Frieda and Leo called their grandmother by her first name. I would have been struck dead in my family for that lack of respect and obviously AS had big problems with her MIL.

I've been frustrated from the start because nobody told AS to put a sock in it. I think, with the arrival of Mati, that day has come. AS will no longer be able to run rampant with her caprichios.

And, "gabacho" was used at least twice this episode…. I was a little confused with the translation in Word Reference. But you set me straight. So, I looked further in the Urban Dictionary. Gracias!

Thanks, Marta. I watched this, but the thing about some of the missing money being in Vilma's name totally went over my head. That was an amazingly stupid choice on Ahole's part. Then again, he's so self-absorbed I'm not sure if he even realizes that she's in love with him.
This is the first episode that I didn't completely love... I was bored with the youngsters' pranks. And I hated the "cousins" lie because... er... AS and Leo aren't coping well, but MA isn't, either. He's more realistic about the lack of money and seriousness of the situation, but he hasn't adapted. I think he could unpack some stuff and do some rearranging and turn that shed into a cozy little cottage if he just accepted that he isn't going to get out of there today or tomorrow. They must have some blankets somewhere in the two trucks of stuff they packed! And don't they have anything to sell that people would actually buy? Fancy electronics or usable furniture? Of course the neighborhoodies don't want to pay a fortune for useless tchotchkes.

I am with you Mads and Julia, MA needs to put his feet on Earth, take a good look around and to his situation, then make the best of it by finding a way to help Lupe and her family while he is there. Not much else to do, is there? Saul can be seen in public, but if he is trying to 'fake' being in Italy, he needs to stay hidden anyways.

Madelaine - anyone else would pull themselves up by their bootstraps by now. But this family? They have no experience and until now, whining was the only coping strategy they ever needed. It will be a while before they figure out that whining doesn't work as well when you're poor.

I assume Grandma Mati is going to get first dibs on bed space out of the RPs (although AS probably would be willing to let an elderly lady sleep on the floor and keep the bed to herself, but the others won't allow that; maybe the two of them will share) so maybe we will start to see some effort toward pulling it together once Frida is ousted from the bed. She seems a little more willing to make it work and adapt.
I didn't understand what it was she did to the jar of cream. It made JT have white blobs on his face, but it seemed like they just washed right off. What was the point of that?

Julia - when I was a kid we would put Elmer's school glue on our fingers, let the blobs dry into "blisters," and then stick pins through them. Minutes of fun! Afterwards we would peel off the "blisters."
So that's all that happened. Frida put the glue in the skin cream jar to mess with Perla, but Perla passed it on to JT, who put it on his face. It would have peeled off pretty easily and maybe even unclogged his pores (I don't really know).
The point? That children will play, I suppose. Yeah, I wasn't impressed either. Let's see if the pranks escalate.

When I was a kid, we would spread glue on our hands in a really thin layer and let it dry so you couldn't see it, and then peel our "skin" off. Ah, kids.
Did you see Community last week? They had a school-wide game of The Floor Is Lava. I loved that they used that game in their show. It's simultaneously something that is nostalgic for a lot of people, and also fresh in that you don't normally see those things incorporated in television shows.

Oh, how neat! We used to play similar games to avoid puddles (they're pits of quicksand) and like that. We probably thought we were the first to ever come up with the idea.
I'll admit, it really WAS sort of cute (even if I did find it tiresome) that this was Frida's idea of a suitable prank after practically getting her head blown off. Frida is waaaaay out of her league.

Julia, LOL on adding Leo as a one-note (or one-key) pianist to Tizoc's group, although i doubt anyone in the group would appreciate or have enough patience for Leo's shenanigans when he starts criticizing everything and everyone.
