It looks like they have replaced the male reincarnation with a female one.
I guess saying that I like a more realistic novela is oxymoronic, which applies more to Televisa.
 

AVENIDA BRASIL Seg.-feira

I didn't watch all of the two capitulos but here is what I got.

Nina and Carmina plot to get "Rita" out of their lives. Nina has a plan she wants to put into motion. She goes to see Bettina and asks her to please be "Rita" one more time. She promises Bettina this will be the last. Bettina agrees.

So this is Nina's plan. Ask "Rita" for forgiveness for what "Rita" thinks that Carmina did to her. "Rita" is a drug addict, and has dumped Jorgito so what's to lose?

Carmina and Nina go to meet "Rita" in a bad neighborhood and "Rita" looks all strung out on drugs. Bettina is a great actress. So Carmina goes into her speil of how she did "Rita" wrong, she's so sorry for what happened with Genesio, her version of course, and she even cries and calls "Rita" sweetheart. Carmina wants to give "Rita" money to dry out from the drugs and start anew. How about that sweetheart? "Rita" finally accepts and Carmina gives her 48 million reals and "Rita" is going to dry out and go to Argentina, I think. Carmina even sees "Rita" to the bus. After the bus pulls out, Carmina is soooo glad to be rid of "Rita" finally! She also asked Tifon for the money and explained why she needed it and how good it made her feel to help some poor creature. He loves this about her, willing to help the poor, and destitute, if only he knew how she has been ripping him off all these years.

Carlitos and Alexia broke up. Carlitos was still being with her, but Veronica had him clean out some cabinets and he found something that made him think, so he went to Alexia and broke it off. Also Noemia thinks that Alexia and Du Du are back together. He's been spending so much time with Veronica, little do they know.

Diogenes gets a letter or Suelen does and it's from some Artiste that Diogenes knows. Could it be Ronquito's Mama perhaps. Dio tells Silas the woman is coming for a visit and she is tres loca! I don't think Ronquito knows this might be his Mama. Dio doesn't want to get involved with her again. Too much happened the last time, but he does go to the station to pick her up and she promises to be on her best behavior. That's all I saw.
 

REINA LUNES

I haven't read the old recap. I'm just going to put up what I saw.

Willy has come to make a deal with Teresa and the Ambassador backs him up. She doesn't know Epifanio like they know him. He has always wanted to kill her, and they show flashbacks as Willy talks to her. He was the one that ordered the hit in Spain, not Batman like she thought. The order came from Epifanio. Epifanio also ordered her cousin, the wife and kids killed too, not Batman. Teresa doesn't believe them. Batman carried out Epifanio's orders. Willy also tells Teresa that Epifanio ordered El Guero killed, Batman just carried that out. The informant that told Epifanio about El Guero working with the DEA was paid 80 million bucks for that info. Teresa still isn't believing it. She still has a lot of respect for Epifanio, he is her Padrino. Willy tells her here is the deal. Work with the DEA, give evidence against Epifanio, cause now he is running for President of Mexico and will turn it into a Narco Country, does she want that? And yes, she would have to go to Mexico to testify. She won't budge. They give her a week to decide. She gets immunity from any crime she has committed including in Spain. There will be/or this is an agreement with the pertinent countries.

Meantime, Flores is cackling to Martin that they now have everything they need to bust Teresa and the paperwork is on the judges' desk.

Teo is having a hissy fit about being discovered. He wants to get out of Spain. He can't until he takes care of Paty's funeral.

After Willy and the Ambassador go, Teresa has a bit of a fainting spell, she hasn't eaten or really slept and Conejo surmises she is preggers again. Conejo is so nice and gives Teresa advice. All the others are worried that Teresa is gonna turn tail and leave them holding the bag. But Conejo trusts Teresa and tells her I think to think of the bebe, no more smoking or tequila, take care of herself, she'll even get Teresa some vitamins and that she may not have acknowledged Conejo as a friend but she's a great boss. Pote even looked kinda misty eyed. To get some therapy Teresa goes to the dock and fiddles with an engine, as she used to do with Santiago. This gives her some therapy. I missed most of Paty's funeral. I know the Paps were there though.

Willy comes back and Flores wants to know what he was doing at TN. Was it Teo being a nervous Nelly again? Willy tells him the plans for Teresa to give evidence against Epifanio so he doesn't become the next President of Mexico, can't be having a Narco Country. She'd be getting immunity for everything including the charges in Spain. Flores is fit to be tied, and we find out how he really felt about Paty. He actually really liked her and is pithed that Teresa would be getting away with it. No siree Bob, he isn't having it! He throws Willy out of his office.

Back in Mexico, Ratas, or as Epifanio calls him, Raimero, he is his right hand man. Epifanio tells Ratas that he is to get rid of all his former associates who could link him to any drug activity or murderous ones also. This includes Batman I think and also Teresa. Epifanio will try to get Teresa to come to Mexico. Ratas has a meet with Batman and orders him to kill all those peeps and also Teresa when she comes to Mexico. Good luck with that!

Oh, Willy really did care about El Guero, so much in fact, he felt like he was his brother. He knew El Guero was very in love with Teresa so on the day he died, Willy was the one that called Teresa and told her to Corre, he saved her life. Next Lunes is the grande finale of REINA. I can't wait to see where else this fabulously written TN is going.
 

MundoFox/Infames:

Last week MundoFox started showing “Infames”, starring Luis Roberto Guzmán (JL in Robó) and Ximena Herrera (Ximena in El Señor de los Cielos), and a lot of other actors familiar on both Televisa/Univision and Telmundo. It’s a very dark tn about political corruption in Mexico, and is a revenge tn. The character played by Ximena H. is framed and jailed for the murder of her fiancé as part of some larger political conspiracy. She escapes from prison, is presumed dead, and comes back a few years later with a new identity to infiltrate the corrupt government. Unlike other tns about new identities to enact revenge, her character has MAJOR plastic surgery, and the before surgery actress (Thanya López) is different than the after surgery actress (Ximena H.).

Part I

Oi, Oi, Oi, what an episode. I got some things wrong yesterday that will be corrected today. I saw most of the two capitulos.

Carmina informs Jorgito that "Rita", the drug addict has moved back to her country and is gone. Jorgito can't believe the drug part, but then he wonders to himself if Nina is really gone.

Of course she isn't, she's working. Jorgito wants to know her future plans for his family. I don't think she really tells him.

Carlos has not given up Alexia like I thought yesterday. He is plotting and planning with Paloma to stop Alexia's wedding to Rui. We find out Rui is allergic to shrimp. Paloma notes this and tells Carlitos.

Jorgito is sleeping and having a dream. In it he remembers his Mama singing to him and his Papa at a table reading the paper. He wakes up in a sweat and explains to Debora about the dream. He wants to go back to the same place he got mugged cause he just knows that is the house where he was born. She reluctantly agrees to go with him.

The next day they go to the place Jorgito was mugged. The house is empty now, there is no one living there and the house is a mess. They discover a suitcase full of old letters addressed to many different men and women, not much help. Jorgito sits down and stares at the newel post on the stairs, and remembers his Mama and Papa again, and they had a visitor, another lady comes by to visit with his Mama. He is determined to find out who this woman is/was so he can find out about his past.

Jorgito and Debora scout the neighborhood asking all kinds of people about who lived in that house and if there was a good friend, a woman, that would go visit. No one seems to remember them. I missed the part where Jorgito got a name, a woman named Neide. She knew Jorgito's Mama and someone gives him address. He goes there.

That Artiste that Diogenes went to meet yesterday is in fact, Roni's Mama. Diogenes for the life of him, can't understand why she came back now. She says that Roni needs a Mama. Diogenes not so much.

Max hits on Nina again, ugh! She blows him off.

Tifon now is starting to show his feelings for Nina. They have a bit of a convo, he talks about his crazy family, the crazy house always full of noise and commotions and thanks her for all the many meals she has made, and then gives her a gift. It's a nice beaded dress. She refuses it of course. She can't take this from him. He's kind of upset she won't take it, when Carmina comes in. Nina explains the dress by saying that Tifon bought it for Agatha, and Carmina says it's way to big and long for her, but hey it would look great on Nina. Accept it Carmina says and Nina does.

Jorgito goes to see Mama Lucinda about his past. She still won't tell him anything, but he does tell her, he has a lead. A woman named Neide. Mama Lucinda does tell Jorgito his name at birth it is Christian.

Veronica and Noemia are still witching about "their", unknown to them, hubby having an affair with Alexia, when Tomas overhears. He is about to tell them "their" husband is one and the same but stops himself just in time, by saying that their "husband" is a jerk.

Nina is with Nilo and she wants a chat with him. What does he know about Jorgito's past? Nilo is actually a nice guy now in a way. He looks Nina in the eye and starts to tell her all about Jorgito's real past.


 

AVENIDA BRASIL Terca-feira

Nilo tells Nina that Carmina is in fact Jorgito's bio Mom. He tells her the whole story about how Carmina was a model and dancer, I think, and she met Max, who was trouble from the get go. Max swindled some tourists and ended up in jail. Carmina had Jorgito and when he was four years old she dropped him off at the Tiradero. So we now know for sure that Carmina and Max are Jorgito's bio parents. Nina is just floored. But Carmina moved on with Genesio, got that money, moved on to Tifon and went back and got Jorgito, and Lucinda knew from the very beginning and never told Nina. Nina is really upset. Nilo says that Mama Lucinda lies. Nina also tells Nilo that Jorgito hates Carmina. What will this do to him?

Suelen is in the hospital and all the guys she knows visit her and I think she is moving back in with Diogenes and the guys.

Veronica and Neomia's new plan is to go to Alexia's wedding and humiliate her in front of everyone.

Aduate and Muricy reconcile and are all happy, happy, joy, joy. He is loving being spoiled.

Max is worried about something and Carmina tries to calm him. I didn't get what it was.

Jorgito goes back to that neighborhood and waits on Neide. He sees a woman going into the address and she says she is/knows Neide. He goes upstairs with her and come to find out her name is Kiki, she's a friend of Neide. The real Neide talks to Jorgito. She likes what she sees. He tells her he lived in this neighborhood a long time ago and she knew his Mama and would come visit her. He wants to know about his past. He was adopted later by a family that had money. She wants 5 mil and then she'll talk. He wants to know if she is the real deal. She brings him an old picture to look at of Jorgito and his Mama. Jorgito was maybe 2 or 3 years old. He'll come up with the money cause he wants to know all. Neide is pleased with herself. Easy money.

Carmina wants to do the deed with Tifon but it seems he's not in the mood.

Jorgito goes back and tells Debora about needing 5 mil and he'll get his answers. She isn't sure about that. She thinks the woman will not tell the truth. Jorgito says he'll have to ask Tifon for the money, cause he doesn't have it.

Mama Lucinda has come to Carmina's to talk to her. Carmina is shocked that Lucinda would dare come to her home. Seems she's okay with Nilo coming but not Lucinda. She absolutely hates Lucinda. Lucinda tells her that Jorgito is very close to the truth. Carmina thinks this is a bid for blackmail, but Lucinda just wanted to warn her. He's asking about Neide she tells Carmina. Carmina tells Lucinda that was over twenty years ago and Neide is probably long gone and by the way get out, don't come back. Lucinda is trying to warn her but Carmina won't listen. As Lucinda is outside the gate, Nina sees her and wonders what they talked about, Carmina and Lucinda that is.

Later, Nina talks to Carmina and Carmina tells Nina that Jorgito is looking into his past and Lucinda came to talk to her about that. Nina doesn't look to good and excuses herself and goes into to her room to cry.

So where does this leave Nina now, with her thirst for venganza and justice? The last person she wants to hurt is Jorgito. What is she gonna do?

A couple of things you missed. Dio has told his son that his mother is dead, drowned in a shipwreck. Now she has shown up again, with a new name, Dolores, and claims to be some kind of religious convert. Dio's not buying any of this. Apparently, she was very promiscuous when she was married to Dio. Dolores wants to reconnecct with her son.

Adauto climbed a tree on the grounds of Tifon's house and kept calling for Muricy. He refused to eat and eventually passed out and fell out of the tree. This is part of the circus-like atmosphere that Tifon is fed up with.

Suelen needs to find another place to live. When she is at Silas' bar, she faints and is taken to the football team's doctor, I believe. He tells her that she fainted from not eating but Suelen locks the door of the examining room and has sex with him. Then the doctor comes out and announces to all the guys that Suelen is pregnant. Obviously, she must have a place to stay during her pregnancy. Dio announces that she can stay at his house. This will cause problems. I'm assuming that Suelen is not really pregnant. She is just manipulating people into getting free room and board.

Bettina's performance with Carmina deserved an Academy Award. I believe that she told Carmina that she was going back to Minas, referring to Minas Gerais, a state in Brazil.

Thanks so much for your kind words and thanks so much for the added info. Dolores does seem a bit off. If I were Dio I wouldn't trust her either. Besides, Roni is just about a grown man, what does he need a Mama for now? I think she's probably broke and needs a place to stay.

I too think Suelen is faking the pregnancy and looking for free room and board. It's funny how all the guys waited around to get her diagnosis. I think they all really care about her.

Thanks for the info on Adauto. I missed that.

It is very chaotic at Tifon's. Everyone is always talking over each other, people in and out all the time. I know he loves to read. It is distracting sometimes to have a lot of noise while you are reading. He needs to go to his little office for some alone time. It would clear his head some, but then again, he'd be interrupted every five minutes ; )
 

REINA Martes

Flores tells Teo he has to go to Madrid to sign paperwork for the case against Teresa. He goes to do that, but he will have to testify in court. He's willing to do that as long as he keeps that money and his properties. He signs.

Teresa is working that motor and is about done. Pote wants to get her something to eat, since she hasn't had anything. She is craving tacos and enchiladas, I think. Pote misses them too. He wonders if she'll ever go back to Mexico. He can't, but with her connections she can.

Flores is all set to arrest Teresa as soon as the order comes. He's just waiting for that. Willy overhears Flores yammering about that and calls his boss, who says something we don't hear. Willy follows Flores.

Seems Teo is wanting to flee the country. He has packed his bag and is at the airport when one of Flores guys calls him and tells him what's up. Flores stops him from going.

Teresa scatters Paty's ashes over a sea cliff into the sea. Pote and Conejo are with her. She breaks down and cries and thinks of their times together. Pote even has a cd player that is playing the song from Teresa's birthday celebration in the prison.

Oleg wants a chat with Teresa. They meet and he shows her the proof that Teo is the traitor. She says it even before Oleg gives her the photos. She also tells Oleg she is having Teo's bebe. She doesn't know what she will do. There is a discussion of a huge amount of hashish being moved. It will generate a lot of lana. Only Teresa and Oleg know this. I think Oleg gave her some strategy. Combine the territory, circle the wagons and then defend.

Later, Teresa is at TN and Conejo gives her some vitamins and tells her to eat. Here comes Teo straight from trying to run out of the country. She already knows he is the traitor. He wants a kiss, she talks a bit of bidness, there is nothing new going on with the bidness, and she mentions that lana again, the one she owes Sanchez Godoy. He looks like he'll be sick. They kiss half heartedly. Then she says since Paty is dead she wants Teo to be a partner in the bidness. He sure looks happy, hmmmmmm......

Mexico:

Ratas tells Batman he is Epifanio's bio son. And there is a job, take out Teresa Mendonza. Epifanio wants all his past peeps dead, including her. This is the plan, they will lure Teresa to Mexico as a favor to Epifanio, since he is running for Prez. He is her Padrino after all. Batman isn't enthused, but he isn't surprised. Later, Ratas tells his Papa Epi he'll handle that hit on Teresa himself. Epi likes it. Batman meanwhile is downing tequila and thinks back about Epifanio and now realizes that's why he never killed Ratas, cause he was his son. Batman goes to see Epifanio but the guards won't let him in. Ratas comes out and tells him that the Candidate doesn't wish to see him. End of Epi!

Just a note on monday's episode, what a complete farce between the Carmina & Betania/Rita scenes, everybody acting with different intentions then what they appear. It is funny though how the real Rita is making Carmina jump through all these hoops.

Tifon is really crushing on Nina! I'm surprised that Carmina didn't find the whole dress story strange. I've come to really like Tifon, and it just sucks that he falls for all of Carmina's lies & deceptions.

What Nilo said was that Carmina says she used to be a dancer/model, but she actually worked the streets, telling Nina she can conclude as to what that was. & it was Carmina doing jail time for swindling some tourists.

Now that Nina knows, I too wonder how this'll affect her whole vengeance plan. & why does Mama Luncinda help Carmina so much????

Madelaine, as to your questions on last weeks feed(which you've probably already figured out): In the flashbacks it looks like Carmina. It seems that Carmina had Jorgito, then for some reason left him with Mama Luncinda when he was 3/4 years old. Then later went back for him & pretended she was just adopting an orphan. And it was mama Luncinda that told him the prostitute story, for whatever reason protecting Carmina.

Yep, there's definitely a lot of backstory yet to discover.

Madelaine, now that I've read your fine recap, I'm going to look at this episode again cause there's detail that I missed.

Deb, as always, the links make my enjoyment that much richer.

Willy is certainly a caring DEA guy, but his agents (Veronica, El Guero, others) wind up getting killed. He should've taken Veronica out sooner and no doubt El Guero too. I have more confidence that Teresa, with Oleg, can protect herself than with Willy. But anyhoo, she ought to leave the narco business so I guess she will say “yes.”

No idea what will happen, but surely Epifanio doesn't plan to make himself vulnerable through Ratas for long. ITA with the theory that Epi's figuring Batman will have Ratas meet with an unfortunate accident.

Part I

Oi, Oi, Oi, again! We learn more about Carmina, Lucinda and Jorgito's pasts.

Jean, you and I were wrong and Sue 455 was right. Suelen has slept around. She might indeed by preggers. She tells Leandro the bebe is his, she calls someone and we find out she has called Iran. She meets him and denies the bebe is his. She says it could be Diogenes or Leandro's but not his. He takes this to mean it is his. Uffff. He tells Mona Lisa and she has an absolute cow!

Alexia is about to be married in a day. She goes for her wedding dress fitting and Paloma is constantly texting Carlitos about their whereabouts. He shows up at the gown fitting and Alexia wants him out. He insists on marrying her, she tells him two wives are enough already, she doesn't want to be the third.

Jorgito talks to Carmina and Tifon about needing money to pay this woman to tell him who his Mama really is. Carmina of course has a major cow and thinks he'll be ripped off. This Neide will just soak him for money and never tell him a thing. He insists. Tifon will go with Jorgito and the money.

Nina confronts Lucinda at Tiradero. Why is she always helping Carmina? Now that Nina knows that Carmina is Jorgito's bio Moms it changes things, and why didn't Lucinda tell her? What does Lucinda know about Carmina's past? Lucinda really doesn't want to answer. Nina think she is protecting Carmina and her past. Lucinda says Carmina was one of the kids at Tiradero. She suffered a lot in her life. Nina even asks Lucinda if she is the bio Moms of Carmina. Lucinda denies, but hangs her head so as not to look at Nina. Nina doesn't believe a word Lucinda tells her and goes.

Carmina, meantime, has gone to Neide. Neide isn't happy to see her. She can't stand Carmina, cause Carmina took Max away from her back in the day, and it's Carmina's fault Max went to jail. We find out Carmina was a ho too, after Max went to jail. She abandoned her own son at Tiradero. How could she do that! Neide slaps her a good one. Carmina hits her with money. She says what Jorgito will give her is nothing. She'll give her much more to keep her mouth shut. Neide isn't having it and throws her out. Carmina tells her to think about it, she could have rich things like Carmina. Later, Carmina talks to Max and he goes to visit Neida. Only it's in Kiki's room, as in client and he paid twice the usual fee. Neida goes in there, finds it's Max and they argue, but he does the deed with her and all is forgiven. She won't say a word.

Jorgito and Tifon go to see Neida. And she gives him the song and dance about his Moms being a ho, she got sick and died. Her name was Dinorah Maria de los Santos. She gives Jorgito a picture of her to keep. Very emotional. Neide doesn't know who his Papa is cause Dinorah was a ho, and so who knows who it was. Jorgito is insistant in his memories it's the same guy. Neide knows nothing about this. Tifon and Jorgito pay her and go.

Diogenes and Sonia/Dolores have a chat. He doesn't want her around. He did tell Roni that his Moms was an actress and died at sea. She just wants to be in Roni's life. Leandro and Roni see them together and think they have a thing for each other. Later, in Diogene's office Dolores strips and says sex isn't her thing anymore. She could strip naked and wouldn't feel a thing. Trouble is Diogenes is feeling something and hasta pronto they do the deed.
 

AVENIDA BRASIL Quarto-feira

Part II

Leleco is an idiot. He wants Tessalia not to talk to any men. He's even jealous of her half brother. He has some plan of hiring a chofer named Darson to chofer her around. I think he wants to be acting jealous again or something. The guy that was staying with Tessalia and her half brother is married, his wife showed up, caused a ruckus and now he's out of there.

Muricy and Adauto. He gets a job in the market, she wants to keep him, in other words support him.

It's the night before the wedding of Alexia and Ruy. He's having drinks at the Hotel Palacio with his friends, Alexia is home with Paloma having lost her friends. Paloma overhears the name of the hotel and texts Carlos. Carlos crashes the drinks party, turns it into a bachelor party, complete with strippers and belly dancers. When Alexia finds out Paloma texted him she throws her cell phone in water and it's ruined. Alexia goes to the hotel and finds Ruy, who is very funny when toasted, passed out with a stripper on is shoulder. She gets rid of the stripper, it is early in the morning and of course Carlos is there. She kicks him out and tries to wake up Ruy who is passed out.

Max talks to Carmina and says he went to see Neide and she won't say a thing. Carmina figures out he slept with Neide and she is disgusted. Also the picture that Jorgito has is of a woman named Vandette, and not Carmina.

Very emotional scene when Tifon and Jorgito come back from seeing Neide. He tells Carmina his Mama is dead, and no one knows who his Papa is. She says now he knows forget about the past, he is the present, he has a great family and he will have children with Debora. He cries and hugs Carmina and she just has one wish, call her Madre which he does a couple times. Nina hears all this and cries, goes to her room and smashes glasses against the wall. She knows that Carmina is his bio Moms but still feels she is a monster for all that she's done. Nina doesn't want to hurt Jorgito.

Jorgito and Debora are home again and getting ready for bed, it's been a long day. After they fall asleep, Jorgito has another dream about his Mama. He still can't see her face, and he wakes up. It's the hair he says. What hair Debora wants to know? In his dream it is blonde, but the picture has a woman with red hair. She thinks he's confused and his memory is blurred.

Next day Jorgito wants to find out where his Mama is buried. He calls several cemeteries with the info he was given and finds one where his Moms is buried. He goes there and gets directions to the plot and he and Debora go look for it. Debora finds it and Jorgito says we are finally here, this is where she is. He takes a moment and then wipes the picture on the grave stone so he can get a look. Of course, it isn't the same woman in the picture he has. He now knows he's been lied to. End of capitulo.

I forgot to mention that in Monday's or Tuesday's episode, Suelen was staying with Lucio. She overhears him lie to his mother to get some money. She immediately packs up and leaves, saying that you don't cheat your mother. So Suelen is an interesting character.

I'm calling this an "onion novela" because we are discovering the secrets the way you peel an onion a layer at a time.

I hope that eventually Veronica, Noemia and Alexia all band together to get even with Carlitos. That is going to be some wedding if he is there because Veronica and Noemia will also be there.

jlk: I thought that Carmina actually was a model because I remember when Muricy went to visit her before she married Tifón, she mentioned having seen one of her ads. What I want to know is how she ended up with Genesio–golddigging?

Still trying to figure out what Suelen is up to. Multiple fathers? Carlos has multiple wives...

Leleco's comic relief is not funny to me. His attitudes towards woman are archaic and I have a good mind to FF through his future scenes with Tessalia.

Ever notice how when Carmina has a small purse she carries it on her lower arm? She's begging to be mugged.

I liked Tifón's new clothes. Much better than those gym clothes he always wears. He really needs to get some kind of job even though he doesn't financially need to work. Lots of former athletes in this country go into coaching or move into management or scouting. Just a couple possibilities. Then he wouldn't be around his crazy family all the time. Ooo...maybe he could help Adauto at the produce market.

Another winter storm tomorrow and I'll again be home watching in real time.

Sue, I didn't watch the first few episodes so maybe I didn't catch everything of the conversation with Nilo. But that what's Nina wondered too, how did her father end up involved with Carmina? My guess is the same as yours, she saw the opportunity to take advantage of an older widower. And this is definitely an onion novela, so much fun to watch it unravel!

Jean, I agree that Suelen is an interesting character. Her storylines aren't my favorite & her morals can be sketchy, but I'm curious to hear about her backstory.

Carmina is soooo brazen & such a manipulator! I liked when Jorgito compared her to Neide, he can at least see somewhat past her facade. But now that he feels gratitude for Carmina "adopting" him, I wonder if he'll give her more leeway. I also wonder why Carmina loves Jorgito as much as she does, but not Agatha? Is it because she's possibly Genesio's? I couldn't tell how much of that cry fest yesterday was real & what was show for Carmina. She's definitely a slippery one.

Lol, yes Diogenes himself closed those blinds cause he didn't want the boyz to know she was in there with him, but they already think there is something going on with them. I so agree about this TN being like an onion. I like the fact it really is bogged down by slow plot points. They find just the right pacing and move forward.

You were so right about Suelen sleeping around too. I too wonder about the multiple fathers thingy. I think she actually really cares/loves Leandro the most. The others are like one night stands to her, I think.

You might remember Sue, but what did Genesio do for a living? I either missed that or wasn't paying attention. Did he work with Carlitos? In finance maybe?

Thanks for the answers to my questions, they are much appreciated. I too didn't like that Jorgito feels so connected so to speak to Carmina. She is a master manipulator isn't she? Look what she's accomplished so far in twenty years! I rather think that the emotion she was feeling when Jorgito called her Mama was real, the rest, not so much. She has a lot to lose if the truth came out. Can you imagine? Tifon isn't feeling the love for her like he used to. It will be interesting to see how the writers go forward with this story.

I too want to know more about Suelen and what is up with her. We know some guy is after her for money. She doesn't seem to have any family that we know about. She has a moral code in a way. I wonder if she lost her Mama at a young age and has been at sixes and sevens ever since? She does get what she wants the majority of the time.
 

REINA Miercoles

Things are wrapping up that's for sure.

Willy meets another agent that has come to help him with Teresa. He comes to his hotel room. DEA agent Z is given Teresa's file and Willy says he'll meet her soon.

Operation Hood Wink Teo is in full force. He is given the info by Teresa herself, that there is a 15 ton shipment of Columbian coca due into port soon, and she gives Teo the name of the ship Angelito Luz. Teo runs and tells Flores all about that. Teo wants to leave he's very afraid that Teresa knows all. Flores says that now he will have all the proof he needs on Teresa. Flores tells him in another week, Teo will be living in the Caribbean enjoying the money he stole from Teresa.

Alberto and the rest of the office have a code word for when Flores boards the ship I think, it's The family is being baptized , or the family is going to a baptism I think. Everyone wants to know where Teo is. Never mind him. She tells them the real shipment of hashish is on target for Russia.

Teresa talks to Oleg. She tells him the hashish shipment is on target. She isn't sure what she is going to do, but she will keep the bebe. Oleg admires her for being tough, but sentimental. He takes her hand, squeezes it and then kisses it. He asks about Teo, what is she going to do? She'll take care of it she tells Oleg.

Teresa calls Willy and tells him he's crazy and hangs up. As in not only no, but hell no she won't, rat that is.

Alberto uses the code word as Flores is on the dock or aboard the ship, not sure.

Flores thinks that now he has everything he needs to send Teresa to a Spanish prison for a long, long time. She is not escaping his justice, and he'll be damned if she leaves Spain. He hasn't boarded the ship yet.

Teo is on the phone with his Mama about the girls. Pote is right behind him. He gets the info that they are okay. He sees Pote and is almost peeing his pants. Pote wants Teo to come with him. Teo doesn't wanna, but Pote shows him the Colt, and he goes. They go to Teresa's yacht. She asks Teo about his Mama and the girls. Teo is sweating bullets. She lets him know she knows everything, the stolen money, we get flashbacks of her talking to Oleg, and the rat that he is. He tries to deny, she knows him better than he thinks. He begs for his life, what about his girls, think of his two children, she corrects him and says you mean three children! As she walks off he is screaming your pregnant? She goes outside and has flashbacks of the whole Teo relationship and then there is a gunshot.

Mexico:

Batman gets to see Epifanio because Mercy comes out and demands he be able to see Epifanio, he is like family. Ratas has no choice but to let him in. Epifanio is not pleased to see him at all. He's got his political buddies with him in the other room. He tells him the only time he is allowed to see Epifanio these days is by appointment/invitation only. Batman can't be seen by Epifanio's political buddies. Batman is not pleased. Epifanio goes and Ratas comes in and laughs in Batman's face. He tells Batman to leave the back way. Batman goes. Ratas seems to be Epifanio's right hand man.

Later, Epifanio is with Ratas and he gets a call from a police friend of his. He finds out that the Americans are out to get him. He is sweating bullets. He doesn't want to lose his chance of being President of Mexico.

This is moving so fast. Things are being tied up, it will be non stop action till the finale on Monday!

Madelaine, thanks so much for your recaps, I read your, Niecie, and others comments every day, but as this is the second time through for me, I don't have that much to say, especially with the Teo part, as when you know the outcome, you just wait for his one-on-one with Pote.

to add a little bit, Teo had two bodyguards supplied by Flores, that Pote mentioned couldn't even guard themselves, and later were reported to Flores that they were dead.

I really got to admire the actor that played Batman (Alejandro Calva), he has so few lines but wow, does he ever say things with that face he has, (btw, I think the book explains that he got his name because he marked his 'product' with bat wings)

also, I'm glad you guys are using the links to read the old comments, some really interesting things were said then, and I also use the links, and by posting them each week it makes it a snap to find the new ones.

Part I


I missed a lot today, but here is what I saw.

Jorgito knows he's been lied to when he sees that woman's picture on the gravestone and he wants some answers.

He goes to Tifon and Carmina is also there. He tells them he's been lied to that that grave isn't his Mama's. Carmina wants him to forget the past and move on with his future, but he isn't having it. He wants the answers and the truth.

Silliness with Leleco. Seems he hired Darson not only has the chofer, but Tessalia's bodyguard, and his real job is to see if Tessalia is really true to Leleco. Stupid! So Leleco pretends to hurt his back, Tessa and Leleco had plans to go dancing, so he foists Darson on Tessa and tells them to go.

There is dancing at Silas' club I think, and Suelen is there. She knows Darson too. Suelen is dancing with Iran and swearing that bebe is his. She even tells Mona Lisa that she will be a Granny, Mona Lisa is, perish the thought, and asks if she can call Mona Lisa Madre, Ha! Mona Lisa calls her hija, Ha!

Earlier Suelen swore to Leandro that the bebe is his and they do the deed.

Jorgito is really pithed. He remembers some more about Neide and that she called herself "Madrina" when he was little. He decides to go back and see her.

Jorgito plays soccer, but his heart isn't in it. His coach tells him to leave his personal problems at home and to concentrate on his game.

Jorgito picks up Kiki on the street. He doesn't want her "services" but info. He wants more info on who his Mama is. Kiki does tell Jorgito there was a woman that came to see Neide before Tifon and Jorgito showed up and she paid Neide off. Jorgito gives her lots of money and tells her to keep her eyes and ears open for this woman and to let him know if she shows up again.

Kiki goes home and Carmina comes to visit Neide. Neide is taking a lot of Kiki's money, I think that's why she is happy with the money that Jorgito gave her. Kiki calls Jorgito and says the woman is here now, come back if you want to know who she is.

Carmina and Neide go for a drink. She warns Neide never to tell Jorgito the truth and she'll make sure that Neide gets lots of money. She never wants Jorgito to know the truth.

Carmina drops off Neide at home and Jorgito sees. But he waits for Carmina to leave before confronting Neide. He goes up to her place and wants to know how she knows Carmina. Neide is fast on her feet, and tells Jorgito that Carmina wants the same info as Jorgito. Just to know the same info on Jorgito's Mama as he does. He tells her he remembers calling her "Madrina" when he was a kid. She thinks his mind is playing tricks on him and she mentions a "Simba" which I think is the dog they had when he was little, the little Yorkie. He thinks she is lying and goes.

Carmina has a meet with Max where they call each other the standard bad names. She is pithed cause he happened to give Jorgito a name that didn't fit the picture at the cemetery with the one that Jorgito has. Max blows that off, she's stupid, yadda, yadda.

I too like Tifon's new look. It's really nice. Max meets with Tifon and can't believe he puts up with Carmina. Tifon has a lot of compassion and understands where Carmina is coming from. Max thinks he's an idiot, to himself that is, and calls him a poor cuckholded guy.
 

AVENIDA BRASIL Quinta-feira

Part II

Nilo is causing problems at the hotel by smoking in the lobby. It's a smoke free building and Nina tells the concierge she will handle Nilo. They go back upstairs and have a conversation. She asks about Neide. I missed the rest of that convo.

Veronica and Neomia's plan is put into motion. They are on a boat in front of the venue for Alexia and Ruy's wedding. They will get their revenge. So it's the wedding day and Ruy is all itchy. Since I missed some parts, I believe someone slipped him a shrimp and he's having a reaction. Meanwhile, on the boat Veronica and Neomia have bull horns and are broadcasting all about Alexia and how she cheated with their husbands. Ruy can barely talk, Alexia says she doesn't know them and this is some kind of joke, but I think it is Veronica who says she went to University with Alexia. Anyhoo, Alexia urges the Padre to hurry the ceremony, but it's too late, Ruy collapses and the ceremony stops. Alexia vows revenge on the two of them. Paloma looks sad but happy too.

Jorgito goes to Carmina's and he has the picture in hand. It's Carmina for sure, but there is another picture at Tifon's that is almost a duplicate and Jorgito turns it over and sees Carmina and Simba on the back.

Nina is telling Debora to stay close to Jorgito and get him to calm down. She tells Debora that something significant is happening with Jorgito and to stay close to him.

Jorgito has gone off to Tifon's office and has another flashback of when he was little, crying on the floor, and his Mama coming and trying to soothe him. He finally sees her face and he now knows that Carmina is truly his Mama. He runs out of there before Debora can stop him. Debora demands that Nina tell her the truth, she knows Nina knows and now Debora wants to know everything. Nina just cries.

Alexia, still in her wedding gown, is there when the boat docks. She hopes they are happy with ruining her life. They are so happy they got to have their revenge on Alexia, but Alexia has news for them. She has a bit of revenge and is gonna give it to them now. She says how they are always thinking that she was the amante of Veronica's hubby and Noemia's hubby, when it's funny, she is laughing and tells them that their husbands are one and the same person! HA! They have nothing to say and are just shocked!

Jorgito goes to Mama Lucinda, grabs her roughly and tells her that Carmina is his true Mama. Why did she never tell him? End of Capitulos!

I always go to the old links, sometimes read ahead, but I read the book, so the only surprise is if it is different from the bk. In addition I appreciate the current recaps. Juarez didn't die in the bk.

Teo seemed less of a wimp about his impending demise in the bk although I thought he took it pretty well. I don't think Teresa told him about hijo # 3 in the bk.
Ratas has such a large part in the novela & wasn't even in the bk.

I am so impressed with so many of these actors & the only ones I had seen before were Güero & Santiago.
Teresa, Patty, Pote, Oleg are just wonderful.

Really going to miss this terrific TN. How many times have you said that?

The prelude to Rui and Alexia's wedding:

Alexia finds Rui in a hotel room and knows exactly what happened. She blames Carlitos who sneaks out. When they are leaving the building, she sees Carlitos getting in his car to leave. She runs to a police officer and tells him that a drunk man just left in a dark minivan and she's afraid that he'll get into an accident and hurt innocent people. The police stop Carlitos and make him take a breathalyzer test. He is over the legal limit and is placed under arrest.

At the wedding site Alexia warns Paloma that if she contacts Carlitos again she will leave her there on the island. After she walks away, Paloma immediately tries to call him on her cell. This is the third time and he is not answering. She needs to know how to get the shrimp into Rui.

Paloma figures it out for herself. Later she walks over to the tray of canapes and slips a shrimp into one of them. She brings it to Rui and tells him she doesn't want him to get married on an empty stomach. He thanks her and asks her what is in it and she tells him salmon. He eats it with disastrous results.

I don't really like the character of Suelen but she is right: she is pregnant, not sick so she should be able to do normal activities until it becomes uncomfortable to do so.

Wow Carmina! You get rid of one problem named Rita and another falls into your lap. And you want to run for office?

I loved Rui's flashbacks to the wild bachelor party. I loved when he was scratching like crazy during the ceremony and his face got all red and puffy. His mother knowing what would happen and telling him to cancel the ceremony.

I am glad that Alexia, Veronica and Noemia all know about Carlito/Dudu because I could never keep straight who knew what.

I went back and checked and I didn't see a scene where Jorgito remembered the puppy in a flashback but they kept interrupting the broadcast here with reports on our ghastly weather so maybe I missed it. But when Jorgito goes back to see Neide after he catches her with Carmina, he asks what the dog's name was and Neide finally says, Simba. Then when Jorgito goes to the house, he sees the photo of Carmina with a puppy and "Carmina and Simba" is conveniently written on the back of it.

Leleco is really a jerk. He not only hires Darkson to watch Thessalia, he wants him to seduce her. Unfortunately, probably, Darkson has now fallen for Thessalia so things might get more interesting.

Thanks for the recap Madelaine & you pretty much got the gist of the episode.

Yes! Jorgito finally knows who his mom is! I think he missed his calling to be an interrogations officer. They way he wouldn't let up on Neide until she finally confessed the name of the dog shows he has skill.

I missed some of the conversation between Nilo & Nina, but I don't think it revealed much. Nilo just told her Neide was a friend of Carmina & Max from back in the day. Nina once again said how hurt Jorgito is going to be when he finds out the truth, & Nilo asked her if she still is in love with him. She says that Jorgito is the love of her life. Nilo advises her to find someone else, because that boy will just cause heartache. It was interesting to see another side of Nilo, he actually was having a serious conversation with Nina without trying to get money out of her.

And thank you Sue for the prelude to the wedding. Veronica & Noemia should direct some of that bitterness to the man who cheated on them. I thought that it was fitting that it was Alexia who told them about their husband. In my mind, I'm imagining a future scene that includes some beauty pageant comedy between the wives to see who ends up with Dudu/Carlitos.

Carmina VS Monalisa. I'm glad that Monalisa can hold her own against Carmina, but they definitely looked like an episode of Jerry Springer.

Lelco plan sure is dumb!

Can't wait for the fireworks tomorrow...

Thanks so much for the scenes I didn't see. So Paloma was the one with the shrimp. And Carlitos got arrested for DUI. That's good, he needs some time in jail. You are so right about Carmina's problem. She thought by getting rid of Rita everything would go back to the way it was before. WRONG! Jorgito will never give up until he knows all. I think she knows this and that's why she went to Neide to try and get her to shut it. I am waiting for the day that Carmina and Max are caught making out/doing the nasty by Tifon. What will she do then????

No worries about the characters. It took me awhile to get them straight. There are so very many and new ones being added all the time. Thank goodness for Sue 455's list. I copied it and also add names of new characters. This way I keep them all straight. They have shown the dog in Jorgito's flashbacks before. It is the cutest little Yorkie. I did see that fruit scene at the market with Tessa and Darson, I just forgot to add it. Darson sure has it bad for her now, doesn't he? I like them together way better than Tessa and Leleco. He's a jerk.

Oh, I did see parts of the Mona Lisa/Carmina shouting and tossing things. They so hate each other. I didn't realize that Carmina wants to run for office. She should be afraid, very afraid. Her past is so twisted, and if it comes out, she would be finished. She'd have to move to the back of beyond.

Thanks so much. I never thought I would like this one as much as I do. It has been non stop action since it started. I never thought a TN could be this good, for being this short, but it is! Amazing. The actors are all fantastic. And the characters, like Epifanio and Oleg are many layered. Teresa is the best character though. Willy has also been a surprise for me. I never expected him to have a hidden agenda, so to speak. I like this one so much, I am getting the DVD when it's over.
 

REINA Jueves

Spain

Pote comes out of the main saloon on the yacht and tells Teresa the deed is done. She tells him that Teo was the bebe daddy, but this is a war, and it keeps getting bigger everyday. We hear the sound of a launch, and it's time for Teresa to go.

Flores is fit to be tied. Teo has disappeared and not only that, but his police bodyguards are dead. Teresa, he is sure, is to blame and she will never leave Spain. He is also pithed cause that ship search came up empty. No coca. She will pay for those dead police bodyguards. She is going directly to jail, but he has to find her first.

Flores and his men search Alberto and he says that Teresa is his boss, not his wife. Next, it's on to Conejo, and they really mess up her place, even throwing her unmentionables around. She is very upset and tells them so. Next, it's on to Dr. Ramos, when they start to toss his place he tells them they aren't going to do that. Teresa is nowhere to be found.

Teresa comes to Oleg's surprise, surprise! He tells her to get some rest, she will need it for herself and the bebe. She tells him she is going back to Mexico. She also tells him she won't ever betray him. She needs to face things there. Oleg is understanding.

Flores goes to Willy's thinking he has Teresa. Nopis, no Teresa. Flores informs Willy that she has disappeared and she isn't leaving the country. Agent Z and Willy are worried about where she could be, but they have a plan. Later, Willy tells Agent Z they need a satellite feed. They go to do that and the FBI comes through for them. They have searched for Yasikov property and have found one no one knows about. Willy is going there. Too bad he doesn't know that Flores is following him.

Teresa is in a bedroom in Oleg's bunker, as she calls it, and has memories of what Willy said to her about Batman not knowing that El Guero was DEA but that Epifanio knew and had El Guero taken out.

Next morning Teresa is up with the sun and thinking about the time of day, when it's gray, between night and day, and it could be the day she dies. She has many thoughts about El Guero. Later, she calls Willy. Accepto.

Oleg meets with Teresa in the morning, and is sad she is leaving. When she leaves Spain, she will never see him again. She understands, and their bidness ties will be over. She is glad she has had such a great mentor and man in her life. Oleg has a surprise for her. He introduces her to his two most valued treasures, his wife Julia and his son Feodor, who knew! Teresa is very happy to meet them. Feodor is so cute! They will be going to London on vacay, but Julia says that Teresa is very important to Oleg. It was a very touching scene. They go, and now Oleg and Teresa are left alone. He tells her he loves Julia and Feodor, but is madly, insanely in love with Teresa. He says she is beautiful, intelligent and brave, the most amazing woman he has ever met. She feels love for him too. They hug, kisses on the cheek. This was so sad! She has got to do what she has got to do. He understands and will miss her muchly, and she feels the same. Conejo has also come to see Teresa at Oleg's. She tells her she's leaving and to listen to her carefully. We don't get to hear what was said.

 

REINA Jueves Cont.

Here comes Willy, she accepted his offer of testifying against Epifanio but she has a condition. She doesn't want to go to Mexico City, just Cualican to testify. Willy assures her this will be done. But the flight will originate in Spain, fly to Miami and then on to Cualican. After she testifies, she will be in witness protection and can live where she wants, Europe, the U.S., The Caribbean where ever she wants. Here comes Flores and his men. Dimi warns Oleg about this and Oleg interrupts Willy and Teresa and tells them. Oleg wants Teresa to go and wait for Dimi somewhere, and Willy goes out the front door and I think he tells Flores she isn't there. Flores of course is searching Oleg's home. He's respectful to Oleg too. Amazing! So Flores' men go to look for her.

Meanwhile, Teresa is on the corre again, out the back and down some steep stairs with woods on either side in high heeled boots no less. This is where we leave her at this time.

 

Epifanio tells Ratas that he knew El Guero was DEA and that's why he had him whacked. There is a scene where Ratas puts up a new picture of Epifanio on a wall, his candidate's picture, and Ratas strikes a pose like his Daddy. Epifanio gets a call from some Colonel and he tells him that he wants the plane number, flight info on Teresa when she lands and he will be sure to promote this guy when Epifanio becomes Prez. Ratas has details, he wants Teresa shot in the head as soon as she gets off that plane.

Batman is taking his boys to school, what a great Dad he is. He notices there is an SUV that looks suspicious and calls his boys back and puts them in his SUV and takes off. He calls Ratas, but he isn't answering his phone. He's too busy putting up that picture. Batman curses Epifanio. Epifanio tells Ratas that Batman would never betray him.
 

REINA Jueves Cont.

Epifanio finds out that Teresa will be the one testifying against him. This is why he wants her whacked as soon as she lands. No testimony, no loss of Presidency is what he thinks. He says to himself, she may be La Reina del Sur, but he is going to be Prez of Mexico with a 100 million Mexicans behind him and now that's Power! It isn't personal!

Will Teresa elude Flores? Will she make it to Mexico? Will they find Teo's body? I can't wait to see what goes on from here!

Part I

Oi, Oi, Oi, let's begin! Jorgito has confronted Lucinda about Carmina. Is she my bio Mom he asks Lucinda, she hems and haws and finally admits that yes, Carmina is his bio Mom. Now Jorgito hates her along with Carmina, they are dead to him. He runs out of there with Lucinda screaming after him, but he keeps going. He goes atop a pile of garbage looks over, now I don't know if this is another flashback or what he imagines happened, but Carmina and Jorgito (he is little) in the car at Tiradero, Carmina takes a case from the car, brings Jorgito to Lucinda tells her, here he is and goes. Meanwhile, Alexia is still trying to convince Veronica and Noemia they are married to the same man. They think it isn't true. Alexia tells them they must have photos of Carlitos/Dudu laying around go look at them, and have a nice life, she goes. The two still can't believe it, they compare heights, looks, etc. They decide to compare pics.

Debora is still confronting Nina about what she knows and where could Jorgito be? Nina tells her he probably went to see Lucinda and they both go there.

They see Lucinda and she says now Jorgito knows the truth. Debora can't believe Lucinda didn't tell Jorgito the truth long ago. How could she keep this from him. Carmina is a monster. Debora says Lucinda is dead to her. Nina stays behind and Lucinda asks if she's happy now. Nina is just happy that Jorgito finally knows the truth.

Jorgito goes to a bar and drinks, he later stumbles out of the bar.

Debora and Nina are going back to Carmina's. Nina tells her she can drop her at a bus stop, she'll take a bus. Debora thinks Carmina is a monster, how could she do that to her own son? Nina knew this already right? Nina says she found out, too not long ago. Debora asks what Carmina has to do with Nina? Part of Nina's past she says, it is a long story and very bad. Debora doesn't ask her anymore.

Veronica and Noemia go to Veronica's I think and compare photos. Sure enough the same man. They are shocked and then the name calling starts, then they stop that, and realize they are in the same boat. So they bond over this, can you believe it? They decide to get revenge on Carlitos. Noemia cuts up all of DuDu's things. She even stabs his shoes. Veronica takes all his sports memorabilia and trashes it and stabs all the balls with scissors and breaks the trophies. They also found out that Carlitos is in jail and will go visit him. First Veronica goes in and talks to him, then Noemia comes too, and he knows the jig is up! He tries to explain, they are so done with him. He will sit in jail. It was funny cause he was trying to tell Veronica he loved her so very much, when he thought she was the only visitor. He knows his goose is cooked, he calls his lawyer and finally gets out of jail. Where will he go?

Carmina comes home and finds out Jorgito left in a rage. She is upset, goes upstairs and phones Neide, and yells at her for giving Jorgito the name of that woman. Neide tells her it wasn't her that came up with the name it was Max. Go talk to him.

Later, Tifon and Carmina go to Club Divine for a celebration of the Futball Club where Carmina announces she is running for City Counsel, she is a fine, upstanding moral woman, and here comes Jorgito yelling what morals. She is a ramera!
 

AVENIDA BRASIL Sexta-feira

Part II

Carmina is losing it. Jorgito has already lost it, calling her all kinds of bad names, saying she is his bio Moms, Tifon thinks he's gone round the bend. Suelen has a good laugh, she calls Carmina "Ramera del el barrio". Mona Lisa is loving this. She just knew that this is who Carmina was all along. Tifon tries to stop Jorgito from this yelling, and Carmina threatens to hit him one. The party has stopped of course. Diogenes tries to get it going again. Tifon and Leleco take Jorgito into the office to try and talk to him. Jorgito is adamant about this info. Tifon doesn't believe it. He really thinks that Jorgito has gone round the bend. Jorgito is so pithed he leaves. Carmina faints and Leleco and Tifon take her home.

After getting out of jail, Carlitos goes to Noemia's and she encourages him to take a shower, she gets his packed suitcase of cut up clothes, takes his wallet and takes all the cash and credit cards and dumps his cell phone in a pitcher of water. He comes out of the shower, she tells him to leave and never come back. She pushes him out the door with the suitcase. He opens it, sees the shredded clothes and has a cow. He tries to get back in the building guy won't let him in. He finds a taxi and goes to Veronica's. She lets him in, shows him all the destroyed memorabilia and throws him out too. He can't pay the taxi, takes off and finally after the taxi driver sees the shredded clothes and suitcase he tells Carlitos its okay and goes off. Where will Carlitos go next?
 

AVENIDA BRASIL Sexta-feira Cont

After getting home with Carmina, she goes to her room, Tifon and Leleco go to his office for a chat. Leleco asks Tifon, could this be the truth? After all wasn't it strange that she went there one day and just picked him out? She had no family, no parents, no siblings and no past. Tifon doesn't think that is all that strange. Leleco thinks maybe she was preggers before she met Genesio and that maybe she dropped the boy off cause she couldn't deal, had the bebe (Agatha) with Tifon and decided she wanted her son back. Tifon still isn't buying it. Muricy comes in and Leleco goes. Muricy tries to get it out of him, but he isn't saying anything.

Carmina is holed up in her room, Nina comes and wants to know if she needs anything. Carmina talks to her a bit. Carmina is now afraid that Jorgito will hate her forever. Nina says it isn't true, he'll come to his senses. She says Carmina is a good person, where is her faith? Carmina thinks this is like when the devil tempted Christ in the desert. Hmmmm... Nina gives Carmina a hug and smiles behind her back.

Debora finds Jorgito in a bar, brings him home, and tells him Carmina is a monster. She feeds him and takes care of him. He tells her if it wasn't for her, he'd be truly lost. I think he is worried about losing his family. He still loves Tifon.

Tifon wanted some tea which Nina brings. He wants to know where Jorgito went. To Mama Lucinda. He wants to go there, Nina tries to talk him out of it, but he has decided.

Nina goes to Mama Lucinda and tells her to tell Tifon the truth when he comes. Lucinda has had enough. Nina says she doesn't know much about Lucinda's past and she still can't understand why she is tied to Carmina. Lucinda won't tell her, she turns it around and tells her she must be satisfied to see Carmina so miserable. Nina says she isn't done yet. Just tell Tifon the truth.

Max comes to see Carmina and tells her what's so bad about telling Tifon the truth. So what she had a baby and dropped him off. Carmina is so not with this at all. She thinks Tifon will kick her out of the house and there go all the bennies. Max doesn't think so. He says that Tifon will forgive her sort of like Mary Magdalene was forgiven. She wants him to shut up, in her head.

Tifon has come to see Lucinda. He wants the truth. She was having a lie down and isn't looking well. She tells him to come back another day, and goes back to lie down. Time passes, she gets up and Tifon is still there. He wants the truth and he isn't leaving till he gets it. Lucinda finally tells him it's the truth. Shock and awe from Tifon. End of Capitulos.

There is no show on Monday, it is President's Day and they are showing Vincente Fernandez movies. Avenida Brasil returns Tuesday at it's regular time.

Thanks, Madelaine, for the super recap. Wow, what an episode. The incredible drama of Jorgito finding out the truth and confronting Carmina with the incredible farce of Carlitos having his life trashed by his two wives. The guy who bailed Carlitos out is Jimmy, who works for him.

I have to say that is so nice to see a woman on a novela who hasn't had a boob job. Debora Falabella (Nina) is almost flatchested and Adriana Esteves (Carmina) has a normal-sized breasts for her build.
 

REINA Viernes

Flores searches Oleg's home and finds out Teresa isn't here. Before Willy left, he told Flores he needs to stop the obsession with Teresa. Flores doesn't listen.

Later, Conejo is telling Dr. Ramos and Alberto that Teresa has left and left them everything. They can't believe it. Here comes Flores with paperwork to seize all of Teresa's assets. Conejo even gives him a list. The guys are kind of down in the mouth, but Conejo tells them, no worries, Teresa planned all this and she left them 20 million Euros in plain sight in her mansion The Seven Drops. They couldn't be happier.

Teresa gets out of Spain with Willy on a DEA plane. Just before she left, Pote says he is going with her, he will not leave her. She worries about that death warrant for him, but he's going that's it. Willy and Teresa talk on the plane ride to Mexico. Willy tells her that El Guero was not just a DEA agent, but his best friend. Teresa says they are all responsible, I think, for setting her on her path. She is having trouble with Epifanio. He was El Guero and her Padrino, he helped her escape Mexico. And now this. They land to all kinds of security. Pote wants his gun back, Willy took it during the flight. The Colonel assures them his men will guard her 24/7. She reminds him this isn't Spain, it's Cualican, you need a gun. Willy gives the gun to Pote and the guy gives Teresa his gun.

We left Batman yesterday being followed by an SUV and Batman trying to call Epifanio. So Batman shields his boys, the other SUV stops, Batman grabs his gun and shoots them dead and runs over them. Later he goes home and tells his wife that Epifanio has it in for him. They decide to leave but there are things to be done first.

Epifanio goes to the President, but he won't see him. Epifanio knows that the President must know what is going on.

Ratas, meantime, is giving weapons and a picture of Teresa to some guys and tells them this is the target. Shoot to kill. There will be tons of security from the gringos for this chick. Later, after Teresa lands he calls them, tells them that the target is on the ground, shoot them in the head, the guy in the white hat too. Epifanio calls him and tells him to call it off. He wants to meet her face to face. Epifanio calls Teresa and wants a meet manana.

Security, Willy, Pote and Teresa come to a house she will be living in until she testifies, which won't be for two days. She can't leave. Teresa nixes that and says she wants a car manana to do something. The Colonel denies her.

Ratas is at Batman's former club and snorting coke and hanging with the girls. He goes to the bathroom and Batman is there with a gun, he is gonna kill Ratas but hears Ratas talking to Epifanio about Teresa being in town. Batman decides not to kill Ratas right this minute. He lets Ratas leave and then says Teresa's name. End of capitulo. The finale is this Monday night, don't miss it!

Thanks for the name of the guy that bailed Carlitos out of jail. I thought the jail scene was so very funny. It's like he is making the round of his wives. I hope, if he tries to get with Alexia, she too kicks him to the curb. Did he never really think they would find out about each other some day? I liked Tomas' reaction the best, it was like QUE????? And Noemia did mention she was glad it was a no go with Debora and Tomas. That would have been really bad, if they had hooked up.

I too thought both Thursdays and Fridays episodes were very powerful. Jorgito's reaction, Mama Lucinda, Carmina, and Nina's reactions were really something. Mama Lucinda looked like she'd been stabbed in the heart when Jorgito told her she was dead to him. It was truly gripping. Tifon is surprising me too. He actually wants to know. I wonder if it is for himself or for Jorgito.

Now Jorgito knows who his bio Mama is, will he look for his bio Papa? He does remember him in his flashbacks, but not his face. It is blocked by the newspaper.

I wonder what Nina is going to do now? I think she never could have imagined that Carmina was Jorgito's bio Mama. That really surprised her and didn't please her either, I think. As revenge against Carmina sure, but Jorgito's pain really got to her. She never wanted Jorgito to feel the pain she has felt all these years.

Now Nilo! What more is he hiding? I like that he has become a more interesting character, and he doesn't seem to want to go back to Tiradero. I would really like to see more of his back story and Mama Lucinda's too. Did they have a life before Tiradero? How did they end up there? Mama Lucinda has such a capacity for children. And what the que is tying Mama Lucinda to Carmina? Points to ponder!

I noticed there are no comments on the Fri show. I wonder if others had the same problem that I did. My RSS feed just disappeared. When I tried to reload it, it didn't show this one. I begged for the link from Santa Diabla & Impostura, finally tofie at Impostura sent me the link.

Madelaine, you are quite a versatile writer between the mini-recaps here and your full recaps on LQLVMR. Glad you pointed out that Pote's hit on the bodyguards was done offscreen, cause I thought I missed it.

Deb, I have watched some episodes twice, before reading the recaps and after when I've read explanations of the Mexicanisms.

On Teo's death, at first I thought why not just shoot him on the street leaving a restaurant or a girlfriend, instead of bringing him on her yacht? But then I realized this intimate setting was more humane for the father of her kid. And in a way she was showing respect for their past relationship by being present before Pote took care of business. I wonder what she plans to say about the father to her child.

I surprised myself rooting for Batman, and I think I would've done so even if his two boys hadn't been in the car. Batman has been nothing but loyal. Epi should've gone ballistic on Ratas for this attempt cause as Epi said Batman is old school and wouldn't have betrayed him. Surely, Epi should realize now though that Batman's loyalty is dead. But power seems to have gone to Epi's head.

Love all scenes between Oleg and Teresa and Pote and Teresa. So cute when Oleg revealed his secret family to her. Funny that his secret hideway is suddenly not so secret, with Willy, then Flores, and then Conejo dropping by.

Loved Pote showing up on the plane. I knew he would be there to have her back. Great moment when Teresa refused to move on the tarmac unless they both got their guns back that instant.

I have noticed, on the Caray Caray front page the side bar type is very small. That happened once before and people's comments were eaten. I don't know what the problem is with the Blog. It could be undergoing maintenance or something.

I was surprised by Batman too. I never liked his character because we were always under the impression that he ordered that hit on El Guero, when in fact it was Epifanio. I didn't like that scene with his boys in the car, with the shooting and running over those guys, but, he did everything he could to save his boys and get them home safely. He is a great Papa, and more of a stand up guy than I thought. I have ended up having a bit of respect for him.

Epifanio now, he is very multi layered. I still think he has some respect for Teresa, even though he now wants to kill her. She has made inroads in Columbia and cut off some of his bidness. I think that's why he wanted her out of the way when Pote, Gatas and Ratas went to Spain to bump her off the first time. Now he knows she is the one turning on him and costing him this Presidency. I really want to know why he wants a face to face now? I can't wait to see that.
 

Many, many thanks to all especially to Madeleine. I'm sorry I've had to miss so much it's been difficult getting invested in the characters, but I'm dying to see how it all turns out tonight. I may have to get the DVD and start all over again at the beginning. For all of you who commented about the DEA agent's Spanish pronunciation, I refer you to another famous mis-pronouncer of Spanish, our former Mayor of NYC, Mike Bloomberg.

Oh, that video gave me a good laugh this morning! Willy's accent is bad, but I think the "Ambassador" actually sounds like a non Spanish speaker.

OT kind of. I liked the actor who played Esteve (Mario Ivan Martinez) he was a Shakespearean Actor in England. Also Michelle Vieth, I always thought her Spanish was off, come to find out she was born in the States, she played Vivian on La Madrastra, and then Mauricio Martinez who was Mike Cisneros on Mujer del Vendeval. That guy could speak some English. I loved his Spanglish on that show.

Did you notice that even Teresa (Kate del Castillo) English sounds very accented on this show, but when giving interviews it isn't.


 

Reina General: Wow, Michelle Vieth, I remember her from Fieras (I think). As for Teresa, I was surprised how American she sounded. Wasn't expecting that. Her English did not sound like "barrio" English though. I think context does a great deal, some people are chameleons when it comes to accent. They pick up what's around them and it influences their pronunciation. It's kind of a gift to have an ear like that.

Finally I've got a chance to comment. I knew the Olympics would eat into my time. Just finished watching the Ice Dance competition. And I'm following men's and women's hockey too.

Anyway, I'm wondering if someone forced Carmina to leave Jorgito at the tiradero. If she didn't care about him then why would she go back to get him when she married Tifón? So this becomes a new mystery to peel away. And what the heck does Mama Lucinda have to do with it? When she went to get Jorgito Carmina told her, "If I fall, we both fall."

Carlitos was pretty funny walking around Rio in his shredded clothes. I still want the three of them to gang up on him and teach him a lesson.

Jean: I totally agree with you about the boobs! I've read some comments that there aren't enough "good-looking" actors on this show. I say "Who cares?" For me, a great story and great acting are enough. Eye candy, if present, is a bonus.
