Breaking news:Dimitrio is a boy and has a back bone! Lo que la vida me Robo #81 3/5/14

Hi everyone, I want to start of by thanking you all for your kind thoughts, the last few weeks have not been great, I lost a childhood friend, work is driving me crazy (working super long hours) and yesterday we got bad news regarding my sister, as some of you may know she suffers from lupus and it looks like her illness has caused damage to her kidneys-and all the other treatments have not worked for her, so not good news, which is why you are getting a quick recap from me today-she gave me this news last night as I was watching Robo, so I'm not in snarky mood today, at any rate I hope my quick recap helps. Again, thank you all for everything, I've never met a better group of people on the internet, you guys are all super special :)

  • Josefina takes Graciela's advice and stands up to Tomas, she wants control of her money and dares him to take her credit cards, money and property, this was a bad idea because he kicks her out of the house and she ends up in Graciela's living room crying her little eyes out while Graciela throws insults her way, but what's this? Dimitrio stands up for her, oh my who knew he could grow a back bone? He tells his mother to STFU and stop with the insults, and informs her that his wife is going to be living there with him, although Graciela is not a happy camper. Later in the episode Dimitrio goes to talk to Tomas who tells him his intention is to return to Josefina all of her cash-as long as she agrees to leave with him to Mexico city and never come back to town, Dimitrio is a sad panda and almost looks like he could cry at the prospect of his wife going bye-bye. That same day, after he has an argument with Graciela, Dimitrio has the absolutely great idea of leaving with Josefina, he tells her to pack because they is leaving! Josefina talks him out of it (nooooooooo) and in the end they stay put, ooooh and did I forget to tell you folks that Graciela made Josefina clear the table like she was a maid? B*tch.
  • Alex is still in jail but lucky for him Jose Luis is a good guy and believes him when he says he had nothing to do with the drugs they found, they also discuss Arechiga and clear the air about all the lies he told Alex about Montse and Jose Luis. Alex manages to get a waiver and is set free, although he is pressured by Robledo to confess, he refuses saying that he will never confess to something he did not do, Arechiga however keeps saying that Alex was in on the scheme, and when Alex tells Robledo to check up on Pedro he is told that Pedro is an upstanding man who is helping with the investigation *smack forehead*
  • Once Alex is home he takes some time to bond with his baby and wife, later he leaves to get the results of the DNA tests and here's where we get out big "LOL" moment of the night, the tests show that Alejandro has a sibling, a FEMALE sibling, which kinda means that Dimitrio is not the long lost Almonte baby unless there's something he's not telling us.....Alex is a mad at having been taken for a fool, AGAIN by Graciela and Dimitrio, although Dimi does claim to be innocent and lays all the blame on Graciela.
  • Macairo knows a lot! We find out tonight that he was given the task of getting rid of the dead baby, but it turns out the baby was not dead! Mrs. Arechiga (I forget her first name) tells him that the baby girl is somewhere very close to them, could it be Maria, or one of the Arechiga girls? Maybe Angelica?
  • Dimitrio tells Graciela that their plan was a bust and that she is on her own, she can't count on him anymore (yay! It sounds like he means it!), he also tells her that he threw her under the bus and that everyone thinks it was her idea to try and dupe Alex, they argue some more and Graciela is beside herself at the thought of not being able to milk Alex for more cheese (aka:money)
  • Angelica is told by Jose Luis that her dad is a criminal, she does not take the news well.
  • Pedro wants the Almonte baby found.
  • And finally, Alex has a cousin whose name is Fabiola and she looks like trouble!
That's all I have for you, please feel free to fill in any gaps!

Eli:

I am so sorry to hear about your sister. I am sending you lots of thoughts and prayers, especially for your sister. I am sending you healing vibrations.

Wow, this is a spectacular recap! The only thing missing really is that Don Benny never had any other relatives and they are surprised he had a neice. Also Ale was worried that Monse might be the lost bebe, I think, but Monse said she'd do a DNA to prove she was Lauro's and not Don Benny's.

Also Ale outed Pedro as wanting his lands and thinks he had something to do with his being in the hoosegow. Ale is so going to rat him out. I think Joaquin will too, once his wife and girls are gone. He asked El Capitan to ensure they left Aguazul.

This story is getting better and better, with these lost long cousins, not so dead babies. Hmmmm.......

And Yay Dimmy for finally standing up to his Mama. A pox on Tomas for being such an idiota, let Fina live her own life for pity's sake, and Graceless needs to have the anvil now.

Thanks again so much Eli for this recap and I hope things look up soon.

Dear Eli! I am so sorry to hear about your sister and your other difficulties. The last thing that you should be thinking about is a recap, so I send a special thank you for going above and beyond the call of duty and providing this recap. I am sending out prayers and good vibrations for you and yours. ))))))). Please know that your Caraycaray friends appreciate you and your wonderful, funny recaps. You are always such a fun, positive part of this community. Hang on in there , Baby. Things will get better. Chin up. ;)

Thanks for recapping, Eli! Great work, and funny in spite of your not feeling in a fun and snarky mood.

So sorry about your sister and your friend. I hope you can find some comfort.

Fantastic epi for Dimi. He's still not totally on the up and up; he didn't admit to Ale that he knew about his mother's shenanigans, but he was great defying Graceless and defending Fina. I love this new unity between Dim and Fina. Disappointed that Fina talked him out of leaving that house, though. Borrowing a tent and camping out on Ale and Montse's lawn would be better than living with Graceless!

So does Graceless actually think that her baby died? Or did she ask Amelia and Macario to get rid of it and just assumed they did the job? Who were they fooling by burying the bag of rocks? I, too, wondered if Ange was the baby, but wouldn't Graceless notice if Amelia had a new daughter out of nowhere? Plus, Ange and Ginnie do look very much alike. I'm still thinking it could be Maria.

What an amazing lab Aguazul has, that can analyze DNA from cut hair. Hilarious that Graceless was caught in her lie by not knowing that DNA shows sex as well as family ties.

I suppose that telenovelas play fast and loose with technology when it appears . Either there are no cellphones, computers, etc. Or the technology can do the impossible. tighten your beanies , find a good , strong rope to suspend your disbelief, and fasten your seat belts. Here come the relatives.

P.s. Kudos to the person who described Gracie's mother of the bride's dress as queen of Spain on the top and teenybopper on the bottom. perfecto. Where are the fashion police when you need them ?

P.s. I caught Pasion today. That was a fun novela. Great costumes. Sebastian Rulli was a blacksmith with long, stringy hair and a limp who did not get the girl.

Eli: My heartfelt condolences on the loss of your friend. May they rest in peace. And to you and your dear sister, I am sending huge hugs. You will both be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.

As Susanlynn noted, doing this witty and insightful recap was truly going above and beyond. Thank you for doing this in spite of everything. You are amazing.

"Dimitrio stands up for her, oh my who knew he could grow a back bone?" and "He tells his mother to STFU and stop with the insults..." were among my favorites. I have to say I agree with Madelaine and pleased our very own version of Peter Pan (who never wanted to grow up), is finally taking some thoughtful steps toward redemption.

So, Macario was asked to dispose of the baby? Oh dear... I thought his scene with Graciela was well done by both actors. He held his own, not an easy accomplishment when acting against Ms. Castro, I am sure!

I am confused also though as to whether or not Graciela did think the baby died so there are many mysteries yet to be solved.

JL is now back in my good graces. He does want justice served. Now if he would give his wife the true love and devotion she deserves all will be right with the world.

Interesting to see how the new character evolves. Oh, also Francesco Gattorno (from AV) was shown in the previews. No spoiler but I'm sure he is up to no good. And I can't wait!

Wish Dim and Fina could just leave. I want to smack Tomas silly and tell him to leave his sister alone and let her live her life as she sees fit. She is the brightest one in the bunch.

You have all our sympathy and support Eli. Please take care.

Diana

A lot on your shoulders and in your heart and mind so thanks for doing what you do here, Eli. Easy to forget sometimes, for me at least, that much of the attraction of a good novela is fueled by a need to escape real life's dramas and traumas. Tudo de bom pra voce e seus queridos e muito obrigada por tudo.

There is so much amazingly good news and technology out there these days on the kidney front -- in all kinds of ways -- I know this from my husband's experience with a variety of very serious conditions involving that organ. Keep us posted, please, if it suits you.

The loss of an old dear friend is something that haunts. Um abraco.

Dimi turning into a man is thrilling and my new reason to watch and hang in there. I've gone from Ale love in excess to new Dimi passion, especially when his hair is out of his eyes, he's throwing it down with the Lady Alexander doll known as Gracie --complete with automatic stabbing finger(BEBE!)--and is able to speak his sad sad heart to his gorgeous wife -- I am living for the day that woman deals with her hair, starts dressing at least 2000 style, and throws her shoulders back! Every time I Fina onscreen I come up closer to see what if anything the make-up department is doing in the way of even minor adjustments! Lo Que La Vida Me Robo for Josefina was the latest issue of Harper's Bazaar!

I'm starting to think that the Pedro repressed gay business is a red herring simply because Nadia has started talking about it so much. Must be something else. Whatever it is, I'm starting to nod out on that front. Along with the Esme-Refugio jazz. On the gay front, maybe the writers are doing a public service by subversively underscoring how assumptions, prejudice, and ignorance cause harm. I don't know enough about Mexican attitudes to know. I do think that one of the soap's strengths is a very subtle undermining -- love that.

And Monse and Ale are starting to lose me too. I feel for JL all of a sudden in a way I hadn't before. The two lovebirds are really throwing it in his face at every possible opportunity in a way I find tacky and cruel, and Angie's saintly act is also not doing him any favors at this point. I fear for him. The actor looks great in a uniform.

Had to laugh at the very very super rapido intro of the prima, sobrinha de Dom Benjamin. These writers are smart and know that the audience will put up with endless product placement when it comes to the luxury pick-up truck but NOBODY wants to dwell on the possibility of Ale and Monse being half-siblings -- Total buzz and novela kill!

I also enjoyed the juxtaposition of Graceless, who grew up poor, snarling at Macario, "Why would I remember a grubby peon like you?", and then Amelia, who was always upper-class, smiling and saying "Of course I remember you, Macario." All that money Graceless schemed and married for never bought her any class. Ella está enseñando el cobre.

Dear Eli:

I'm so sorry you have had to deal with so much sadness. It's good to see you back here. Sometimes it helps to distract yourself with something like this blog and the antics of our imaginary friends (though it's not easy to force yourself to do it, I know).

I'm glad you gave it a try -- for you and for us. Nicely done. You have definitely not lost your touch.

Take care.

Eli, I am extremely sorry to hear about your sister. A sister can be a special relationship and I'm sure your support will mean a huge deal to her. You do seem to have had more than your share of troubles lately, so my thoughts and prayers are with you. Thank you for recapping, even in the midst of your full plate. Thank you for doing that for us! OK, I'm off to read your recap. Gracias!!

I forgot to send my condolences for losing your childhood friend. That is incredibly painful. A big virtual hug to you.

Eli:

I am so sorry to hear of your loss and of your sister's illness. It sounds like a very difficult patch in your life. Please know I send you my kindest wishes for a favorable resolution to all of these difficulties.

Thanks for putting up the recap when you are under such pressure. I love the title.

Julia: I join you in wondering why anyone would bury a bag of rocks unless it was to fool Padre Anselmo. This plotline is going to take some 'splainin'.

EJ

Maybe Macairo and Amalia feared for the safety of the baby and had to fake its death?

To save the baby from being snatched by its father, if he found out it was alive? Did Ben know that Gracie was pregnant?

I guess I should say her father, now that we know the baby was a girl.

Eli, it saddens me to hear of your loss of a dear friend and the challenges with your sister's health. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for hope and comfort.

With all this demanding your attention, the recap was especially appreciated. Many of us were cheering as Dim defended his wife and dissed his dearest mama. Strange that all her efforts at style and class have fallen so short of the mark.

Fascinating to learn that the long-gone baby is not only alive, but is a girl. And another relative (niece) bursts from the backdrop and onto the stage. My, my, things are busy in AguaAzul.

Eli...we are all wishing we could wrap our arms around you right now. You have had so many losses lately. Losing a mom leaves an ache in the heart forever. Breakups with boyfriends, another blow. The loss of a dear friend..another ache, a further blow. And now your sister's news. You must want to just pull the covers over your head and check out of Real Life for a while.

Know that you will always find loving sympathy here. And when Maria de Andrade speaks so tenderly to you in Portuguese, she speaks for all of us. But somehow, that language just conveys a special, gentle affection which I love. May all her words bless you and comfort you.

I once had to recap an episode after coming home from the funeral of a dear friend. But it helped, actually, to be "obliged" to think about something else for a moment. I hope work can do that for you, even though it is driving you crazy.

On the doings of our fictional characters, my favorite moment was when Josefina, our wilting little Love Beggar, told Dimetrio FIRMLY that he would have to get a job and "cuanto antes"! Wow. The startled, befuddled look on his face was every bit as delicious as his equally befuddled sadness hearing that brother Tomás wanted to drag her off to Mexico City. And I'm not a bit upset by big brother's harsh action because it's going to put Dimetrio on the fast track to maturity. And that's what our darling Josefina needs and wants...a real man, not a spoiled baby.

And though Graciela's treatment of her regarding clearing the table was harsh, rude, and humiliating--Lord have mercy, we all clear the table, cook the meals, do the laundry and clean the house!...in addition to our jobs (and let's not forget yardwork and shoveling driveways) so my heart did not break for Josefina having to lift a finger. And she's learning to deal quite adroitly with humiliation. She's a tough survivor of emotional abuse and definitely my favorite.

Eli- How incredibly gracious and generous you are to provide us with a recap, while so many painful things are happening in your life.

You have my deepest condolences for your loss, and my most sincere well wishes for you and your sister. Lupus is a struggle in my family as well.

As for the struggles of our characters, like the rest of you, I continue to be happy with the slow evolution of Dim. Might have to start calling him something else.

My two tops candidates for the undead girl child are the new cousin and Maria. The other young women are too young.

I didn't feel at all bad about Josefina having to clear the table-I think everyone should help out-but I did not like how rudely Graceless ordered her to do it. I liked Fina telling Dim he needed to get a job ASAP, but I think she should, too. It would do both of them some good to learn to support themselves. A bit of independence and success would be great for Fina's self-esteem. And also, the more money they earn, the faster they can get out of that viper's nest.

Eli - I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear friend. I hope it helps to know how much we all are feeling for you.

My prayers are with you and your sister going forward. You are a jewel.

Dim must've felt so ridiculous in front of the guys when it turned out to be a girl's DNA. I thought the test would also show the age of the hair root (like decades versus days), but I guess not.

I thought sure Dim was going to slap Gracie silly when he got home. Graciela, you'd better read more than fashion magazines if your evil doing is to keep up with these techno times.

When Ale worried to Monse that “she” might be the Benjamin kid, I thought someone must’ve given him a horse tranquilizer cause he was so calm. If I thought my husband and father of my child could turn out to be my half-brother, my scream would be heard from miles away. Nice that Monse has enough confidence that her mom wouldn’t push her into incest.

There was mention here of the start of a Scooby team. Looks like JL and Ale are on board. But Captain Robledo didn’t take any action after Arechiga said he would tell all only after his family was safely out of the country. But at least Robledo did phone his sister Prudence, the smart one in his family, to find out she’s long suspected Arechiga was dirty.

our wilting little Love Beggar, told Dimitrio FIRMLY that he would have to get a job and "cuanto antes"!

JudyB, ITA it was hilarious when Dim looked like the thought never occurred to him.

JL is now back in my good graces.

Diana, I'm with you there. I hope he and Angie can move upward now. It would be a shame to waste their chemistry.

Amazing Eli. First, sending my sincerest thoughts and prayers to your sister, and my sympathies at the pass of your friend, who I'm sure was equally a dear member of your "family" in your heart. Balancing that heartache and long hours at work, and then you still find the time to offer us this great recap, we are honored to have you even give us a thought. All our love and lots of hugs <<<<>>>> coming your way.

"Dimitrio stands up for her, oh my who knew he could grow a back bone?" Oh what I joy to behold last night. We got our little Dimbulb become a shining beacon and give it to his mumsy twice in one episode. I am with Maria--right now watching his transformation is becoming my favorite part of this TN. and if he and Fina team up truly to right a lot of wrongs, oh my, I'm hyperventilating at that thought. I love how Graceless tried to turn on the waterworks, and then immediately they turned off when he walked away.

So are we back to Maria maybe being the lost kiddo? Mac needs to speak up!! He's such a sweetie, hope he doesn't make me regret liking him by hiding secrets too long.

Daisynjay

Graciela's baby story is very strange but now I'm thinking that she attempted
to suffocate the baby and then gave the body (thinking the baby was dead) to Amelia
to dispose of, Amelia then sought Macario's help and that's how they both know
about the baby.
Amelia mentioning that the child is nearby makes me wonder if we met her yet. I think
the long lost cousin might be a good candidate as she shows up right when we discover
that the baby was a girl. She seems to be the right age...

Eli, I don't watch and just read the beginning of your recap. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Eli, "Maybe Macairo and Amalia feared for the safety of the baby and had to fake its death?" I was thinking the same thing! Maybe Gracie asked them to "get rid of" the baby, thinking they would, gulp, kill it? Instead, and worried for its safety, they simply pretended to bury it, making sure she was safely raised by someone else.

Oh I just love how the Fina/Dim story is progressing!

This was a terrific recap, proving that recaps don't always need snark to make them perfect. Eli, I hope doing the recap give you a bit of escape. It can be cathartic to do something that you are good at as a way to give your mind a rest from troubled thoughts. I sincerely hope it worked that way for you. Thanks again for being so generous with your time.

Susanlynn -- "... fasten your seatbelts. Here come the relatives."

Too funny.

Judy B -- YOU are the ever gracious and tender one -- in any language. And thanks for "she is learning to deal with humiliation, quite adroitly" in regard to Josefina. I get the feeling that this is one of the strengths that Dimitrio is both contributing to and feeding on. I can only hope we get a nice bedroom scene between these two at some point. Not banking on it. I'm a fickle woman and have now decided to be in love with Osvaldo Benevides. And Veronica.

It must have been an inside set and production joke that Graciela was the daughter of a "costureira!" -- (oh horrors! the daughter of a dress maker!) when her clothing is something for the ages -- Caroll Burnett show craziness for sure. The costume design folks must have had a riot with her.

Julia -- Off to look up "Ella esta ensenando el cobre," which seems like the kind of phrase I ought to be able to decipher but there's so much beauty and so much learn to learn between the Spanish and Portuguese.

JudyB and company- again, thank you all for your kind words, the last few years have not been the best but I've been lucky in finding really good friends- I include all of you in that statement, the loss of my mom was hard and it's still something that I struggle with, the loss of the boyfriend does not bother me any more, due to that breakup I was able to move on and find someone that's uber awesome, and the loss of my friend has been hard on many of us, at 30 his death was totally unexpected. My sister has had lupus for 7 years now (she's 21) and through the years it has caused damage to her kidneys but I'm hopeful that things will get better or at least that they wont get worse.

Eli, my sympathies are with you. You've got so much on your plate right now. Losing a childhood friend is very difficult on top of everything else you have going on.

And this recap needed no snark; you got all the ducks in a row.

My gut is telling me that this bitch and FG's character are grifters but that it will be a while before we learn the real deal. Did you see how she sized up the townhouse?

As for why Macario and Amelia did what they did, I can only imagine that Benjamin might have killed the baby because it wasn't a boy or used the threat of killing it to do something to Graceless and her precious reputation.

Which will be a pile of ashes at the end of this tale.

Eli, I'm so sorry about the death of your friend as well as for the illness and complications from which your sister is suffering. As you have already seen, we here have a great affection for you and want to offer our support for you in this time of suffering and grief. My prayers are with you and your sister.

Carlos

Eli: Thank you for this recap. Warm thoughts go out to you.

Score one for Alejandro. It didn't take 54 episodes for him to just happen to mention that Pedro Medina is involved in this fracas. Also, Capt. Robledo should be able to put two and two together after being told by Joaquin that he would have more to say once his wife and children are out of the country. Gee, there must be a missing link by the name of Pedro.

I have to hand it to Josefina. She seems able to suffer all sorts of indignities that would make a weaker soul go up in flames. She just hangs in there, and yes, her telling Dimi that he should get a job was hilarious.

We are still being lead astray as to the identity of the missing Almonte child. As someone noted above, Benji supposedly had no relatives. So did Fabiola materialize out of the scent of money? Then there is Maria.

Eli, prayers for your sister that some cure or easement of her condition can be found! Prayers as well for the family of your friend and to you. Such a loss is never easy. Thank you so much for the summary!

Go Dimmie! Ride the redemption train! That ole silly Gracie pouting and throwing a tantrum! Haven't read comments but know it's been noted how Dimmie responded to her histrionics: You ought to be in a novella! Ha!

Was that you, Novela Maven, that said JL's character is flopping back and forth? Well, time for him to flop over to good guy: Okay. I'll get off your case JL, just don't sweat, whine or try to come on to Montse!

Don't have a lot to say, rather see what all you novela sleuths think. I know I don't like the new chick: she does look like trouble. Anxious to see how many of you think this is Gracie and Bennie's spawn. If so, she's hit pay dirt.

Lila

Eli, my condolences on the loss of your friend. I am also sorry to hear about the health complications of your sister. Sending good thoughts your way for happier times for you and yours. Thank you for taking time to do a recap in the midst of it all.

Wow, Graciela was really outed last night with the results of the DNA test.

Dimitrio is finally ready to cut ties with mommie dearest but is he ready to get a job in order to do it?

According to Amelia the missing child of Benjamin is "very near."
Who is there besides Maria and newly arrived Fabiola who fits the bill if it is not Montse?

How dare Graciela belittle Josefina by ordering her to clear the table. That was a pure power play. Too bad Josefina didn't have the guts to not do it and tell her off. I am hoping that Josefina gets to that point sometime before the end of the novela.

Jarifa

Jarifa

I agree, Jarifa. Graceless has no business doing that. She's going to suffer big time at the end.

Eli, my deepest sympathy in your time if loss. Please know that you and your loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers...

Thank you for posting a recap despite everything you are going through. It is greatly and graciously appreciated.

I am loving Dimi and Fina more and more with every passing episode. So estatic to witness Dimi stand up to his mother, and to defend Fina. I am just sorry that they didn't leave the house.

Thank goodness JL didn't listen to Refoolio. I thimk that the Navy might have problems pressing charges against Ale, but I don't know if Pedro will be able to do so since it was a Navy sting and investigation. But knowing the way Pedro works, he will find a way to make Ale & JL's lives a living hell.

Looks like BM is back in the running fir being Gracie's baby. I don't think it's the new girl in town. Amelia said she was close by when Mac asked about the babys whereabouts, and the new gal said she was coming from Miami. Of course the new girl could be lying.

Back to work...hasta pronto!

Eli--just a quick note to let you know I'm thinking of you and the difficulties in your life right now. Thank you for taking the time to fill us in. Also, as mentioned, distraction is a catharsis, but take the time to mourn for your friend and spend quality time with your sister. It'll be healthy for all concerned. Sending positive vibes your way.

Why do we need an interloper...oh, that's right, they extended the episodes so we need a new complication. This dudess looks like she could very well try to do a job on Ale and not just money. So, Ale, you have your work cut out for you.

Interesting about the rocks being buried instead of the child--just like Roselena in Un Refugio.

In this case, Graceless didn't want any trace of that child left anywhere. After the "death" she wanted no reminders--like it never happened. That's why it was so odd that she kept a lock of the baby's hair--but of course, we needed that for the story to take the wonderfully satisfying turn of the Patio Tables on Graciela. Yay! I bet Ale forgives her, though.

Susanlynn -- "... fasten your seat belts. Here come the relatives."

Too funny. Es verdad! And tacky hats and Miami in the house. And no matter what she wears, continuing disrespect of Rosario!

I'm a fickle woman and have now decided to be in love with Osvaldo Benavides.

Julia -- Off to look up "Ella esta ensenando el cobre," which seems like the kind of phrase I ought to be able to decipher but there's so much beauty and so much learn to between the Spanish and Portuguese.

Eli -- I am so very sorry to hear that your friend was someone so young. It's never easy but so much harder when the curtain comes down so quickly. That's a terrible terrible blow that would leave me shattered and questioning in ways that have no answer.

I lost a friend, an old boyfriend, mmarried with children, a writer, to suicide some years ago and it haunts me. The last person in the world I would ever have been concerned about on that front. A devout Catholic on top of everything else and the only person who ever threw me a birthday party and a surprise party at that. I wake up in the middle of the night and think about it and wish I could bring him back from the edge. We never know, really, too much about anyone. One of the most energetic and positive people I ever met.

I'm not a great big believer but there are things and things that hit and hit and sometimes the only response it would seem is to both keep on lunging at the problem and to surrender.

The death of one's mother I won't even address. I lost mine at 13. I am now 58 -- have never gotten over it. And now I promise to sign off and be quiet. Take care of yourself.

"Ella está enseñando el cobre" - she's showing her true colors (i.e. the copper underlying the exterior finish).

Thanks Eli. So sorry to hear of your loss and your sister's health. Thanks so much for your recap! And also to UA and NovelaMaven for your wonderful recs.

DH and I quit watching mainly because we really don't want to watch the gangsters Pedro and EZ in action and the women abuse. That's how things started Monday so we turned it right off. Sounds like we missed some great scenes with Osvaldo B. - too bad.

I'm so delighted about the DNA surprise - girl! LOL!

Of course I'm still following by recap.

Josefina seems kind of zen to me. Sometimes it is good to just flow along and not let the turkeys get you down. No need to get your bloomers in a twist over people like Gracie. Flow and go. Keep calm and carry on , Josefina. Not getting a reaction will drive Gracie crazy. However, stay clear of that infamous finger shove of hers.

Well, I think that it is fairly certain that Alejandro's sister is María. I'm so looking forward to UA addressing her as Lady María.

The bad news is that Pedro will find out and try to enlist her into his nefarious plans. I sure hope that she does not go over to the darkside.

Carlos

Maria...I can relate to the quote: "Life is an accumulation of love and loss." Anyone who has been on earth for awhile has a mental list of people he or she has loved and lost. I, like you, am haunted by some of those folks .

Carlos, a monkey dressed in silk is still a monkey.

I do agree that she is the more likely candidate for being Alejandro's half-sister. From a personality perspective she is definitely an apple that hasn't fallen far from the tree. This would be the Karmageddon Graceless deserves.

UA, heh heh... but then that's the wonderful thing about peerage... just depends on who one's parents are... and María got a double dose of noble genes. I love that she's Graciela's daughter as well as both Alejandro's and Monserrat's sister.

Carlos

"I sure hope that she does not go over to the dark side",...HA, Carlos...too late....I think that ship has already sailed...she's been there for awhile.

If Maria does turn out to be Gracie's offspring, the apple has not fallen too far from that garishly dressed tree.

...And what a family reunion that will be. OMG

Eli, thank you for doing the recap under such duress. Hugs and prayers are being sent to you.

Tomas is an ass, but he's saved Fina's ass from being thrown into the calle up to now. If he hadn't kept her from hurting herself, she'd be dead broke long ago. He's probably sick and tired of having to 'take care' of her and doesn't know how to do it anyway. (It's not like he wants her money.)He should let her go now and she may have to learn the hard way. Up to now cash is most important to Dim, but it seems to be changing. I'm hoping that Carlota can help Tomas with his rough edges.
Marea Primavera

Susanlynn, She's just been misbehaving in the shadow cast by Alejandro... Pedro offers a truly dark place.

I'm hoping that she elects to become a loving loyal sister instead.

Carlos

Hope Maria doesn't go over to the dark side?!

Bwahaahaha! She is the dark side.

Marea Primavera

Eli,

I'm sending positive energy your way. You are a loyal friend to think of us during this tough time and giving us this great recap. You seem like a strong woman and I'm sure you are a huge support to your sister. How lucky she is to have you and, I'm sure, vice versa.

I thought of all my friends on the patio last night when Dim said to graceless after her emotional rant: " you could act in novrlas."(did I get that right?). Hahahaha!

Thanks again, Eli!

There is nothing noble about Graceless. She is the daughter of a seamstress.

All the money in the world couldn't buy her class.

Eli, this is the first time today I have been able to come visit our wonderful site. You have gone above and beyond in writing for us, but I am so glad you did because it brought you to this wonderful place of warm and kind people. I hope we have enveloped you with loving, kind, and warm words.

I am truly thankful to have found this wonderful community. Please know that what we say to you, we say from the heart.

Fatima

Oh my, I most certainly agree with Marea! Maria is The Darkside

JudyB, what would we do without you, my friend? What a beautiful thing you said to Eli.

Maria de Andrade, I love when you write in Portuguese! I can almost decipher each time what you are writing!

Fatima

Dear Eli, Many thanks for the wonderful recap and so sorry to hear about your sister and friend. Sorry I'm late in commenting today but just wanted you to know I was thinking of you. Best, Julia R.

Eli I am so sorry to hear about your loss and your sister. This has been a difficult season for you and you are in my prayers. Thanks so much for distracting yourself with this recap; it was great particularly in light of all that has happened to you.

I'm still shocked Dim stood up to his mom. And, as someone else noted, think the new relative is a fake. Having Maria related to both Ale and Montse is so perfect b/c its like a bad tn family wreath trope.

I have to put my money on Maria being Gracelia's daughter, too. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I think Carlos' early infactuation with Maria was based on the sweet, trusting teen that we saw at the beginning. But in retrospect she wasn't a teen at all but was thirtish, since she was Ale's playmate. And he was probably born early in Benjamin's miserable life. The big give-away is that Ale and Maria never consumated their sleep-over, thus not bringing up an umcomfortable issue for us to ponder.

Many prayers to you Eli,its sad to lose a close friend and then your sister even having lupus. Its such a cruel world.

I liked how Dim stood up for Fina,he actually does care for her enough to stand up to his tyrant mother. And Shameless even had the cynism to treat Fina like the maid of the house, she needs to be smacked by the lingering frying pan ,i hope Rosario or Carlota do the honour!

Now Pedro wants the baby found ,this will mean trouble. Robledo is acting stupid,if Loreto was a corrupt chief of the police then there is something seriusly wrong with the police and needs to be investigated ,i mean if the chief is corrupt, why isnt the master chief corrupt too?
