Caray, Caray!

Hi all, my class was cancelled tonight so I recapped instead of a discussion.
What really bothers me in this episode is the constant lying and how Gil sees only what Daniel has done wrong,(which is nothing at this time) but has a daughter who is a sociopath. He definitely won't win the Father of the Year award.
 

Tablet jefa you're totally right, Gil is the worst father on this novela, let's hope he'll loosen up a bit though it wouldn't surprise me if Sonia offs him towards the end. It was nice to see Art and Isa going strong in this ep. Dafne's really escalating in her awfulness, yikes!

TJ thanks for your recap. Were you describing Gil the jerk as a rabid dog? If so, bravo ;)

Cassandra G., yes Gil continues to be an idiot in addition to a bad father. As TJ noted, he becomes tiresome with his constant berating of Dan while his "angel" Sonia is a crazed assassina.

Mari's current situation is a perfect example for me why the whole "don't be a snitch" is foolish. When Borlelas was still her buddy you might understand her attitude but she knows he's doing bad things now. Even if she knew what we (the audience) know, based on his most recent behavior he would turn on her. Unfortunately, the writers have Mari in the weepy martyr phase so she'll be making bad decisions for the near future.

I need for Feo to stumble and see the consequences. Ara's pride will keep her from seeing him as Satan but his mask needs to slip a bit so she can see a glimpse of his vileness.

That double date was so funny. I haven't seen that kind of competitive kissing since teen spin the bottle parties. Este and Javier checking out each other's moves was a riot.

It is hard to watch Javier and Sono. Bleeccchhh. I cannot wait for the anvils to fall on both of them.

Borland is such a cutie....a young Ed Yanez lookalike. I am sorry that he cannot be redeemed. He is not evil...just gullible and stupid.

When is someone (Tita! the mouth! perhaps?) going to reveal that Mari is Sono's daughter ?
 

Thanks for the marvelous recap! Does it seem to you that Uni has stopped chopping and editing the shows? The last couple have felt like complete episodes. (Forgive me if this topic has already been addressed on the blog.)
 

Tablet jefa, I'm sorry your class was cancelled but sincere thanks for giving us this masterpiece. There were so many excellent lines but "Mau won’t stop her from letting the doorknob hit her where the good Lord split her" was priceless as "while both men mark hug their women". Excellent!

I agre with you and all the commenters that Gil does indeed deserve worst father status. He really needs to let go of his unrealistic expectations for Dan and see his son for the kind, talented individual he truly is. He should be sharpening his gaze at his daughter the "crazed assassina" as Karen noted. Cassandra, I fear for his (and frankly for Ara's) safety as far as Sonia is concerned. She will strike relentlessly at all in her way...

Susanlynn, I had high hopes for Borlas initially. Perhaps he might redeem himself by coming forward so Mari can be freed? I say this unconvinced but it may not be out of the realm of possibility.

Movie date night was a horrorshow. Forgive me for reiterating that Javier is just plain grotesque. The most unappealing character I can envision. It makes me cringe to see he and Ara kiss. Ewww.

Linda, some of the commenters have noted that it appears Uni has been showing episodes in their entirety, at least for the past few days.

Tablet, watching Osvi going after Gil was SWEET .

Gil is the WORST father ever, Art is in 2nd place. I'll not be surprised if he gets whacked because Sonia is the female version of Augusto Pinochet.

Daphne's wannabe Kardashian lifestyle is going to end sooner or later.

I'm going out on a limb: Dan and Ilena will be a couple by the end of this TN due to Gil's UPPITY-ISM.

How long before Meanie tells Dante, Gonzo, etc., where Andrea's younger son lives? She's mad because Andrea kicked her out of the house.

Wow! Don Gil is going to end up bitter and alone, if Sonia doesn’t kill him for her inheritance first. If he disowns Dan, that would mean more money for her. She’d find a way to end up with Gil’s, the de la Riva, and the Raisin’s fortunes! Loved Osi mixing it up with Gil. For a while, I thought both of them would be thrown in prison too. LOL!

If Feo had any shame, he’d be embarrassed by having to one-up a youngster in a make-out session, and his own son at that! But the man has no shame. He’s not looking so suave and exciting to Ara anymore either. How’s he going to step up his game if he wants to control Ara’s mind, heart, and fortune?

 

MinnieMean is so stupid. Despite her nasty personality, she was welcomed into her daughter and son-in law's home and taken care of all these years. What a way to bite the hand that feeds you. She is an ungrateful wretch, but you know that by the end of this novela, her family will have forgiven her and taken her back. She is so undeserving of the good fortune she has had in life.
 

I still cannot believe that none of these people recognize Favier. That evil grin alone should be enough to give his identity away, In the end, his narcissism and delusions that he is smarter than everyone will bite him in the bum. I wonder what especially heinous anvil is hovering over him and his partner in crime Sono? Neither will survive, but I am hoping that they both go out in an epic way after spending their whole lives playing with other people's lives and fortunes, ......despicable them. I want to see them hoisted on their own petards.

Seemed to me Fernando was a little worried that Sonia's game is working better and a more direct route to the cash. Worrisome too she may actually have feelings for Fab (or at least the possibility of a legitimate life) and doesn't need Fernando. In fact last night was the first time I saw Sonia mildly rebuff Fernando's advances when usually it is the reverse.

It is nice that Por Siempre's list of commentators is growing even though Univision has made a bone headed decision to banish this fine novela to Siberia starting Monday. I have written several complaints to Univision about this move to a AM timeslot. Funny thing---Their comment section tells us to leave a comment and it will be answered right away. Well none of my comments have been answered. I guess that they
don't like criticism.

Tofie- I thought the same thing about Feo and Sucia's interaction last night. With Fab, Sonia has a mature, attractive, sweet, and RICH man, who loves and cherishes her. What does she need Feo for, anymore? Feo is worried that his grip is slipping on his women.

Borlas is stupid with a mean streak, the beat down proves it. Problem for him is you can't fix stupid and likely an inconvenience to Gonzo and Dante requiring a permanent remedy.

I still think the jailing (though legit) of both Tita and Dan is a way to get Mari to sing.

Vivi - Sonia still has some clean up to do and sure more folks will succumb. Her tightrope is with Fernando. She has tactfully neutralized the Tita outburst and should just ignore ABrat and keep focus on Fab and Isabel.

Fernando on the other hand has over played and obviously lost his touch with the ladies.

Now if The Duck were smart and could resist rubbing Esteban in ABrats face she would just let it lie because ABrat is more jealous of her than torn up about Esteban. ABrat would just skip back to where she belongs in Fernando's arms.
 

Another blistering email on it's way to Univision about the time change. I will be able to see it but I know that others won't. This just isn't right. I remember some time back I was watching a novela rerun that being rerun un the weekends in an early AM time slot. I had really gotten involved in the story and my guess
was that the novela was about half way finished---then one day I turned it on but it wasn't there
any more. The station [not Univision} was running car sales instead. WHAT??? Do all the stations do this? It's madding.

Susanlynn- it baffles my mind that Feo/Javier has not been recognized. Hopefully once the private investigator has been hired he will go deeper into jail cell fire. His mannerisms, build and voice are the same.
 

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome and the answer to my question. I used to post on Telenovela-World, but there's no activity at all on their PSMA foro. Thank goodness for this group!

I'm going to make quick predictions on the final pairings of the younger characters:

Mari & Dan (since they're not related)
Aranza & Esteban
Ileana & Christian

That leaves el Borlas for Dafne, but I think she's more likely to end up with Greñitas!
