Por Siempre Ni Amor #72 US 3/17/2014 Chihuahua Fight!!!
I post this recap with a caveat: For some reason my TV is having problems picking up Univision. It started last Thursday, but cleared up over the weekend. We don't have cable or a dish; every channel we get is over-the-airwaves. Well Monday night it happened again. No signal. None. Totally black screen. Sooo - I have no idea what was broadcast Monday night, whether it was a single episode or a cut and paste double episode. This recap is a single online episode (#96 in Mexico) so it may contain scenes that were cut and may not contain scenes from the second episode if it was a double. I didn't catch all the dialogue so please fill in what I missed in the comments. Some scenes have been combined.
What I assume is Leftovers:
Aranza yells at Art and Isa that she's not a child - even though she acts like one. It's her life and if they don't like it well that's their problem, too bad. She storms out. Art tries to follow but Isa stops him. (Me: Art don't waste any more of your time. Kick her out and cut her off until she grows up and can be civil. You're always talking "consequences", well let her enjoy some. A few days on the street would do this beotch a world of good.)
What may or may not be the Main Dish:
Cuca comes looking for Dan at the tenement. Agatha points her toward his apartment and when she turns, there he is. He's not happy to see Cuca. She wants to go somewhere and talk calmly so they go inside. He doesn't understand why neither she nor the Padre told him about Mari being Sonia's daughter. Cuca says that it wasn't up to them, that they thought Sonia would tell him the truth. Having Sonia as a mother has been horrible for Mari. (Well there's an understatement...) She's never been accepted. He's glad Mari is living at Tita's. Cuca thinks Dan should be there too. No, he says. It hurts too much. He warns Cuca not to say anything to Mari about being Sonia's daughter.
Cuca reaches to take his hand and Dan jerks it away. He tells her he needs to get to work. Through her tears Cuca says that she's no longer working for Gilberto. She puts a note on the table. This is where she's working now. She tries to hug Dan but he backs away and motions her toward the door. Clearly he isn't forgiving her for hiding the truth about Sonia and Mari. She sobs, "Adios hijo" and takes another step toward Dan. He motions her out again. She opens the door and turns back hopefully. He says nothing. Cuca whispers, "Adios" then quietly closes the door behind her. We see the note on the table. Dan sits down slowly and sobs. (This scene made me cry. Dan will probably never see Cuca alive again.)
Aranza calls Javier as she's walking in the park. She gets frustrated when she can't reach him. Turns out Aranza can't get hold of Javier because he's on the phone making a date with Gabi. She hangs up and smiles excitedly. It seems her plan is working!
Aranza is recognized by the fortune teller who read her cards when she first started seeing Javier. She offers to read Ara's palm. There will be a face-to-face between boyfriend and an older men about her love life. Ara asks who the older man is, could it be my papa?
Tita asks Bruno about Gabi. I think she's trying to find out if he knows Gabi is pregnant. I notice Tita's jacket matches the chairs behind her perfectly.
Isa and Gabi talk about Bruno and her pregnancy. Then Gabi excitedly asks, "Guess who called me? Javier Castillo de la Fuente!" Isa can't believe the guy who is supposedly "in love" with Aranza has made a date with Gabi. While Gabi is excited by the prospect of exposing Javier for the rat bastard he is, Isa isn't so sure it's a good idea. Arturo hired a PI to look into things. Gabi isn't deterred. She thinks this is a good way to open Aranza's eyes about Javier.
Aranza finally gets Javier on the phone and tells him it was Arturo who hired the PI.
Ileana is working at the church when Mari comes in. They both miss the Padre. Mari asks if Ileana knows where Dan is. Ileana says Dan is rooming with Borlas.
Ally and the kid who won the raffle talk about his adoption. He's worried about the others. Ally says Tita and Bruno are working on the orphanage and it will be ready soon. All the other kids will get to go there. Later they go through a list of Biblical angels names and he picks out "Uriel".
Arturo and Javier duke it out. |
Javier shows up unannounced at Arturo's. He demands to know why Art hired a PI. A very angry Arturo demands to know what Javier's game is with his daughter. Javier claims it's "marriage." He wants to marry her, have a home and children. Arturo yells that they know nothing about Javier's past or his history. Javier says his future is with Aranza and all that matters is that he loves her. "Your PI didn't discover that I was a killer or a womanizer." (That's only because the PI was inept and corrupt.) Arturo is forced to admit that he hasn't heard anything bad about Javier. I don't know why but this scene just reminded me of two Chihuahuas fighting. Both snapping, growling and circling, but never making any contact with each other. All bark and no bite.
Isa comes home and Lucha tells her that Arturo and Javier are in the study. Isa wades into the Chihuahua fight. Javier says he's just clarifying his intentions with Aranza, then he leaves. Isa asks what's wrong. Art tells her that Javier found out about the PI and that it was Aranza that told him. Javier made it very clear his intention is to marry Aranza. Isa is taken aback, "Aranza's too young." They both are very upset but as usual, do nothing.
Aranza hears from Lucha that Javier was at the house talking to Arturo. She calls him to find out what happened. He says he was making his intentions known. He wants to marry her. Now it's Ara's turn to be shocked, "Marry?" It's his dream to marry her in a church, to see her in a white dress. "Don't you want to spend your life with me?" Now thoroughly rattled, Aranza says, "Yes, but not now." She has to finish her education, get a job, focus on her career. Javier coaxes, wheedles and whines - please, please, pleeeease with sugar on top. Aranza doesn't budge. I guess that stubborn streak is a good thing in this situation. Javier gets mad. He'll talk to her tomorrow. He hangs up and screams, "Maldita ser!"
Ileana and Mari go to the tenement. Mari goes in but Ileana stays at the entrance. She can't believe Daniel is living in a place like this.
Isa talks to Aranza about Javier. They don't know anything about him and he says he wants to marry her. Ara says his dad is dead and his old boss thinks he's okay. Isa says Javier's ex-boss is dead. Aranza seems surprised. She tells Isa not to worry. She assures Isa that she's in no hurry to get married. Isa hugs her, "You've become a woman, but you'll always be my little girl."
Dan opens the door and Mari runs in a hugs him. He tells her he's staying with Borlas because he can't live with his dad and he has no money. He wants her to go back to Tita's because it's getting late. Mari thanks him for defending their love and tries to kiss him but he turns his head and she gets his cheek instead.
Maricela and Dr. Zamora discuss Isabel's test results. Isa and Art are talking about Aranza when Maricela calls. She wants Isabel to come in tomorrow so they can discuss the results. Arturo asks if everything is okay and says he'll go with Isabel if she'd like. Arturo looks worried.
On the way out of the tenement Mari runs into Borlas. He tries to avoid her but can't. She thanks him for taking Dan in. As they talk he gets more and more nervous. He finally works up the nerve to tell her the truth - that he's the one who made the anonymous call about the kids. Mari is angry and shoves him. He begs for forgiveness. She'll forgive him on one condition: And I'm sorry guys, but I didn't catch what that condition was. I think it was something about Dan.
Ileana and Ara discuss Javier's "marriage" idea.
Arturo gives Dafne some money for her trip. She hugs him.
Gabi and Javier are in a dimly lit restaurant. She thanks him for inviting her, he says he can't resist a beautiful woman. She can't resist "interesting" men. He puts the moves on Gabi, she flirts back. He orders champagne. Gabi mentions that Javier's girlfriend is very young..
"What you need is a woman." They toast, she strokes his hand then his cheek. He stares at her like a cat watching a mouse. You can almost see his tail twitching. Yikes.

Your recap was absolutely sensational. Witty and well written. Your rendition of the Cuca/Dan scene was beautifully done.
So many gems but my favorites were "Aranza yells at Art and Isa that she's not a child - even though she acts like one...A few days on the street would do this beotch a world of good", "snapping, growling and circling, but never making any contact with each other. All bark and no bite" and "He stares at her like a cat watching a mouse. You can almost see his tail twitching. Yikes."
Everything seems so twisted and convoluted right now. As you noted thankfully Ara's resolve is the only thing saving her from utter disaster by marring Feo. What a ghastly, grisly thought.
Also concerned about Gaby - as Feo knows what she is doing, what heinous plan does he have in mind for her? Shudder.
One other thing was Este, Daphe and Este's brother (Angel?) being stalked. Does Feo want Este dead? This is a dreadful situation.
"Maricela and Dr. Zamora discuss Isabel's test results"...As we've been saying, there is something unsettling about her. That said though, did Dr. Zamora say anything to confirm Maricela's diagnosis? I thought I heard "tumor" but did not understand anything else that was said. I believe Isa told Maricela not to tell Art what ever it was (yet another mistake).
We need a little light and levity here. The darkness has descended and shows no sign of abating.
Xint, this was fabulous. Thank you!
Diana
I only surfed into this show during commercial breaks while trying to watch both the Voice and Dancing with the Stars. I am very uncomfortable watching Gaby trying to snare Favier. No one realizes how dangerous he is. Yikes.
Poor Isa she has suffered so much I throughout this whole novela. It is agonizing to watch and worry for her.
If Aranza had done that to me, I would have slapped her very hard, so she'll end up picking herself off the floor.
Isabel still STUPID for trusting Maricela, who still wants Art after all these years.
Nice seeing Ally with one of the kids. Sweet 😊.
Feo hiring Gonzo and his cohorts to kidnap Esteban's brother. It's not going to end well.
Diana- yes our comments crossed on Saturday, I had such a hectic weekend, that I couldn't respond, but you know what they say about great minds? ;-)
And CD and Tablet Jefa, I didn't realize they were going to kidnapp Angelito. This is really getting depressing. Not to mention all the suffering Isa has gone through as you mentioned Susanlynn.
Where are the clowns? Send in the clowns! Please.
Diana
ABrat - how dare anyone not be at your beck and call
Art - when you're mad and breathe through your nose it's distracting, perhaps some nasal strips
Mari - get the cheek. a cold maybe
Bruno - pathetic
Gabi - no match
Fernando - Irresistible
Isabel - whatever did you do in a past life
Uriel - I Got A Name, I Got A Name
Ileana - don't get those hopes up
Angel - wolves at the gate
The online episode and the tv episode must be different. I watched every minute of the program last night and there was no Dan and Cuca, that was shown in Friday's episode. Wow, what you see online and what is on tv
don't match. This must have to do with Uni's editing.
Isa is so trusting---her husbands ex is her doctor!!? It's nice to be trusting but isn't that a little to trusting?
I don't understand the new name. When you get adopted you get a new name? I guess that you could start anew but I have never heard of that.
Is you is or is you ain't as the words to an old song used to say.
Is Mari Sonia's daughter or not. Mary only got a cheek last night, I'll bet she is starting to wonder
what's wrong.
If FeVer wants Gaby's baby, he is going to have to wait a while. She
is not that far along. However I do think that she is in danger as Feo knows what she is up to. I wonder if Feo is so arrogant that he thinks that he can play with two at one time [maybe three, add
Sonia] and not get caught? This guy is going to slip up eventually
I was very uncomfortable with Gonzo and his thugs last night.
Tofie---you got it right, Wolves
at the gate.
I didn't see any previews last night so I don't know what to expect tonight however as usual I will be counting the hours to 8PM
the gringo
So now Javier's into kidnapping? I wondered when he was finally going to make his move and do something to hurt Andrea. An anvil isn't good enough for this guy. He needs a chain saw.
I realize too, all this is intended to blow up and likely Bruno will be a better PI and find out who Gabi is seeing, go blab his baby mouth and she come out the stinker to ABrat.
I might put Gaby's baby on there too while I'm at it.
Something tells me Maricela might be Mari's mother. She's hiding secrets .
Has anyone noticed that she and Aranza both have the same hair color ?
I missed the show last night, so I am grateful for anything you can provide us. The scene between Cuca and Dan seems so sad, but you know Cuca's been on my crap list for a long time for keeping this quiet. It could have been cleared up one way or another a long time ago, before Mari and Dan were so invested in each other.
Feo is going to have Angel kidnapped?! What?! Does his evil know no end?
Gringo- I supposed if a kid had a real name already like Juan, Diego or Maria, then, no, they wouldn't need a new name upon adoption (other than a new last name). But these kids don't have proper real first names. They all have nicknames, like Borlas (tassels). Marianela is the only one of them with a real first name.
Well, should the wolves make off with Angel it better be before The Duck gets hers or we gonna have one frustrated girl ready for a killer rampage.
Wonder when Sonia and Fab will return. I miss Sonia
Gaby is really playing with fire here. Not just her own safety but what she's doing isn't going to help Isabel and Art's case against Feo.
For those looking for a quality period/costume drama telenovela, tonight at 8pm, the Emmy winning Brazilian tn, Lado a Lado starts on MundoFox. Here's a synopsis and trailer: http://www.latintimes.com/lado-lado-synopsis-who-who-mundofox-new-primetime-brazilian-telenovela-photos-and-trailer-160253
