Que Pobres tan Ricos #54 Mar 21, 2014... Leo gets a job... The romance continues... and A-hole's rage boils over, he makes threats against Mini and MA's life
Hi Folks.
I will have to appologize. My DVDR choked on me and deleted all the programmed series to record. I got home from my event in time to watch the last 40 mins so i could do that part of the recap. If anyone can summarize the first 40 mins, you can post it as a comment and I will add it in, or email it to me and I can add it in in the morning.
Leo has agreed to teach Diego, gets money in advance. Leo expects Diego to have at least minimum appreciation for art... Never interrupt the teacher.
Diego seems a bit uncomfortable... Leo says you need to observe the expressions of the human being... Mati is bored yawning.
Leo tells Diego you have to recognize your 'inclinations'(desires/expectations) ... Diego looks again confused... when he begins to try to voice his 'inclinations' Leo interrupts him..
When Leo 'finishes' the first class session, Diego feels like hugging him but then taps Leo on arm... Leo shows his first 'salary' as art teacher to Mati so proudly. Mati says you brag so much and totally miss the important things in life.
A-hole calls Vilma, she has been investigating Tato. She tells him if your wife is cheating on you with this Tato, she must be blind. This inflates A-hole's ego very well. She gets another call, she puts A-hole on hold, which he does not like one iota and lets her know.
The other call was the 'lab' to give her the report on who has been messing up with A-hole's laptop. A-hole summons her to get that report to him asap.
Isela and Mini are shopping for baby stuff. Isela is pointing to everything in the store, while Mini is shopping via phone for the hidden far away lovenest she will take MA to.
Isela tells Mini she will get the baby monitors, tells Mini wish she had a pair of those, so she would not have to watch Mini so closely.
The store clerk is losing patience with Isela, Isela says let me think! ... she even asks the store clerk to get her a giant kite that is hanging off the roof.
MA is looking for the polo stick around the room. Leo keeps whining about the room, would die if we don't make this prettier. Mati says it is pretty. MA tells Leo since you are such an artist, why don't you take care of decor? Leo says will attempt to create a miracle.
Mati tells MA that his grandpa did see him play. MA did not know Aure ever watched him play. he is moved.
Vilma arrives at A-hole's and lets him know that yes, someone had been copying the files on his laptop. A-hole is very VERY anxious about the subject. Vilma says fortunately they did not access the encrypted files.
A-hole thinks Mini is trying to get more money from him. Perhaps to spend with her lover (or lovers). what if she is cheating on him again with her ex, MA.
A-hole reminds Vilma that when Mini was dating MA, she was cheating on him with A-hole. So she could be turning it around.
Ahole gets a gun, Vilma gets really nervous, says 'guys are loaded by the devil, put it down!'... this gun has the largest silencer i have ever seen! looks like a bazooka.
A-hole swears he will kill whoever Mini is cheating with, then when the baby is born he will kill Mini. HE swears he will find out the truth and will not allow Mini to mock him. Will kill them both.
MA calls Saul, wants to talk about the house papers again, no time to explain over phone, (MA again has the offensive attitude toward Saul)
Frida and AS very 'discreeeetely' arrive to the college financial offices to have AS sign for Frida's application for the scholarship.
AS asks the lady 'we have to be super discreete... and lets get this done quick. where do I sign? ' the woman says applying for a scholarship is no felony. AS says yes it is.

Emi happy with the stick. MA takes the time to teach him some moves with the stick.
MA tells him maybe some day he will be a great player. they talk about a famous player.
Emi wishes that someday MA will play again and Emi can watch him.
MA is about to ask Emi about the drawings but changes his mind.
MA comes down and tells Lupe he has to go see Saul. They share sweet smiles. MA leaves. Carmelita tells Lupe she enjoys watching their vibe...
She tells Lupe don't know how long it will take for everyone else to catch up but the two of you look so cute together.
Lupe tells her she does not know what MA feels for her. Carmelita says beloney girl, anyone only needs to see your faces when you two look at each other.
What they need is to find a way to announce their romance officially.
Previews: Mini is obsessed, tells MA will take you where noone will find us. Lupe seems to get another jealousy rage talking to Carmelita... maybe another misunderstanding.

Also Sharkey shows up in AS' Chincilla coat at the Fonda, and she is pithed off and tries to take it off of him, while Don Chuy holds her back and reminds her that MA sold it to Sharkey to pay for the rehab of the Penthouse. But AS is very pithed and calls Sharkey all kinds of names and accuses him of stealing it. She keeps telling Don Chuy to let her go, and Carmelita also tells him to let her go. It was very funny. In the end, Sharkey leaves, while AS chases him and Carmelita laughs.
AS cracked me up with her disguise at the scholarship office. I was hoping Vilma didn't see them and she didn't. Good deal.
Poor Diego. He is wearing his heart on his sleeve, that's for sure. Will Leo ever notice? Speaking of which, if that was Leo's artwork that MA found instead of those papers, Leo really doesn't have the talent. Poor Diego.
I don't like the fact that MA is going after those papers again. I hope this is to help the Menchaca and not himself. I hope he has learned something through working at the market and finding out what pobre really means.

Also, Frida had a hard time persuading AS to go to the school with her. AS didn't want to ride the microbus. Tizoc had just borrowed Diego's car and offered to drive Frida and AS to the school.
AS was scornful at first, until Tizoc said she could pretend he was her driver and it would be like the past. She said he did look like a driver and agreed to go, mangling his name in some (probably) insulting way.

Isela (with her selection of pregnancy bellies) was all worried that Minerva's obsession with her lust for MA was going to ruin it all and what would become of her (Isela)? Minerva assures her she is using MA not the other way around.
Another scene was Alejo with Vilma with him saying that the use of models and sensuality were going increase their sales. Vilma starts to get all snaky on him unzipping a slit on her skirt, letting her hair down and even touching his thigh to no avail as usual.
The visit to the pawn shop does not go down as AS wanted. Don Salomon says she needs to pay him back for the items with interest. It is a business that he runs not a charity.When she goes to write him a check, he tells her he only accepts cash because too many checks bounce. She should go to the bank, cash her check there and bring him the cash. Porca miseria!
Minerva has started to wear one of the pregnancy bumps and hates it. Alejo arrives unexpectedly and tells her and Isela that tomorrow he has to go on a quick business trip. He'll stay if Minerva is really going to miss him. She is very quick to assure him she'll be okay and she understands that he has to take care of business. Isela just wants to eat and keeps ringing a bell.
Minerva and Isela are going out for for awhile and Alejo insists that Beto drive them. He will be driving them everywhere from now on. Minerva tries to dissuade him by saying that her mom and her won't be able to about "womenly things" with him there and that Beto has "verbal incontinence." Alejo won't take no for an answer so Isela says its a good idea and off they go. Alejo tells Beto to take them wherever they want to go but not to let them out of his sight. He then says he is really ready. Now Minerva can't check out the romantic meeting place she was hoping to. Isela says she was dragging them to the edge with her actions. All Isela cares about is that she gets to go shopping.
Jose Tizoc asks to borrow Diego's car. He'll let him visit with Perla. Diego is okay with car but uncomfortable when Jose Tizoc calls for Perla.
Even as they are ready to leave to go to the school, AS is complaining about going. Better that someone spit in her face than be humiliated asking for a scholarship. Then there is the distance and having to take a microbus. Jose Tizoc apoears with the car.
Doña Mati has advice for Leonardo: find ajob so you can support your family rather than look after her. Diego arrives to see Leonardo.
My favorite part was AS telling Frida that baby birds have to fly out of the nest by themselves when Frida tells her she really needs her to go to the school. Then AS responds with her "Porca Miseria" and asking for "pieta" "mercy" with her eyes heavenward.
The artistic inclination part was very interesting.

OMG these people are so oblivious. How does no one notice anything about Diego? They all think he's into Perla or maybe Frida when he has never given the slightest indication that this is the case. Plus no one ever notices how miserable he is! I hope Leo at least comes up with something interesting to make their "classes" worthwhile. I have zero confidence in his ability to teach any art skills, but maybe they can at least go to some museums together and look at art and Diego will be happy for awhile.
Completely dumbfounded as to how AS has both Chuy and Sharkey drooling in her wake.
I like the penthouse now (if I don't think about the structural issues). It looks like a cozy minimalist studio. Tres chic. Curious what Leo is going to do to make it "beautiful".
Somehow I suspect Minerva, or should I say Minervita, is going to have no trouble at all escaping Beto's not-all-that-watchful eye.

I love the running gag of Isela calling for Yuki. It is just so obnoxious that it's funny.
I know it has been talked about before but i just can't believe Vilma puts up with the way Ahole treats her.

Wonder why MA stopped and didn't ask Emi how he came by Leo's "works of art".
I thought the way Don Chuy was following behind AS in the house a little strange. I couldn't decide if he was supposed to be "sweet" on her or if he was trying to annoy her.
I'm surprised we haven't seen a scene yet of AS, Frida, MA, Leo and DaVinci (not) crammed onto that mattress at night. I'm pretty sure I'd prefer the floor.

I think Minerva is just hoping to get back with MA and his money before the time comes to produce a baby. She doesn't seem to be putting any thought into the supposed child. Isela should be thinking about that, though. Stealing a baby seems way too risky (though clearly someone thinking of a scheme like this is not exactly risk-averse to begin with). Nonetheless, I think Isela and Minerva do have a few tiny moral impulses, so they'd probably rather lessen their hassle by arranging a private "adoption" from a mother who doesn't want to keep her baby.
But it can't be just any baby! It needs to be born at the right time and it needs to plausibly look like the offspring of Ahole and Minerva! Isela probably thinks there's a place online where she can just order one up with Minerva's credit card. Or maybe a boutique where you pick one out and customize it with your desired features.

Maybe Mini can just get a Cabbage Patch doll. Ahole might not notice the difference. He'll think the baby's being really quiet because he loves his daddy so much. Or he'll assume that Isela's nonstop chatter is drowning out the baby's cries.
Ooh! American Girl sells those baby dolls where you can choose the skin and hair color and features! They could order one of those!
I have heard about places where you can order dolls that are supposed to look JUST LIKE real babies. It seems a teensy creepy to me, but I think they use them sometimes for filming where the baby doesn't need to look awake or anything because they are less hassle than using a real baby. Plus I think there are some people...I'm no shrink and don't want to say they have mental health issues...but they get them and pretend they are real babies.
Ahole would DEFINITELY not notice it was fake if they got one of those.
Ahole would DEFINITELY not notice it was fake if they got one of those.
Of course, the zombies on the board of directors would want to see the baby and they would know it was fake...and then Ahole could be all "OMG! Someone kidnapped the baby and swapped in this fake one!" and Mine could just play like she had lost her mind because her baby was kidnapped and like she thought the fake baby was real. And then everyone would feel terrible for her and go out of their way to be nice to her!

I think Perla needs some professional ambition, hard work, and success more than she needs a novio right now. If she's serious about becoming a model, she needs to make more effort than one casting call at the most snotty and racist editorial in town. If she isn't going to make it as a model, she needs to figure out something else.
Perla has spent enough time vagueing, which is not the same thing at all as vogueing (which Leo will be happy to demonstrate).
