Elena, whom I shall call hereafter La Bruja goes after Mondriana about the photo which she recognizes was taken in México City. Mondriana answers very humbly and mildly that it was not her intention to lie. La Bruja: Who are you really? What are you hiding?
In her room at the boarding house Valeria is shaking all over and freaking out while Diego tries to calm her.
La Bruja continues to grill Mondriana. Mondi says that she went to México to visit a friend, saw announcements of Mónica’s concert, and wanted to see her. When La Bruja, narrow eyed, says she didn’t see her there, Mondriana says she waited outside and Mónica gave her a ride to her friend’s house on the way to the airport in her limousine. [Okay, Mondriana keeps putting up with this insulting behavior and doesn’t smell a rat?] The only thing she does is thank La Bruja for being so careful with her daughters.
Diego speaks very gently to Valeria. He says it’s better not to be alone during a crisis. She asks if he’s ever felt that kind of fear. He tells her he’s afraid of loneliness, of being deported, and of not being able to find the love of his life. She asks how he controls that fear, and he tells her by talking it over with someone. He suggests that, if she confides her fears to him, she’ll feel better.
Gerardo watches La Bruja leave and then knocks on Mondriana’s door. He’s come with the excuse of having her speak at this big homage to Mónica they’re planning. He tells her the kiss was marvelous, but he doesn’t want her to feel uncomfortable around him. Looks like he’s planning on the slow seduction.
Rodrigo gives his son Ricardo some books that he says helped him when he was in despair. They deal with people who lost nearly everything and struggled. He humbly says that books are the only inheritance he has for his sons. I think he actually got through.
Elena approaches Camila to push Ernesto. She pretends to be sorry about Ricardo and even says she’s fine with that relationship. Smooth use of reverse psychology, as Camila immediately says that Ricardo needs to apologize to Elena.
Gabriel is trying to find Jennifer. He pays some guy. We then see the Rottweiler cornering Jennifer, asking her where she got the bribe money when she didn’t work. He tells her he hopes she didn’t get it from that guy he saw her with. She says Ricardo is just an idiot. Rotty plants a mocking kiss on her cheek.
Diego has gotten closer to Valeria and she isn’t freaking out. She tells him she’s seeing a doctor for the panic attacks, and then blurts out that she was raped. This is why she can’t stand to be around men. Diego sincerely expresses how sorry he is for what happened, and he offers to help in any way he can. She asks why he cares, and he says we can’t turn our backs on such an injustice. He also says it hurts him to see her suffer. She reaches over and touches his hand. Maite comes in at that moment and, when Diego leaves, Valeria tells her how kind he was. Maite cracks that anyone would recover their health in the presence of such a bomboncito. Valeria says that Diego did her a lot of good; it’s the best she’s felt since the bordello.
Mondriana tries to approach Camila about what happened with Ricardo, saying that Emi told her about it. Cami cuts her off, cold as ice.
Gabriel asks his father about Los Perros y El Chalado. Rodrigo says they rule the neighborhood. The Little Prince chimes in that the people in the neighborhood ought to join together and denounce them. Rod tells him they’re extremely violent. As long as you don’t mess with their women or their business, they’ll leave you alone.
La Bruja bitches to Gerardo about the whole homage event. He has to keep reminding her that he has to keep looking like a grieving widow. She then brings up the issue of Mondriana and her lying about the photo. Something to do with her living in San Francisco and didn’t say she’d been to México. [What a tempest in a teapot!] La Bruja says she doesn’t trust her and she wants her out. Gerardo asks why she has this need to fire people. She asks why he cares if the governess stays or goes. He replies, logically, that Emiliana is happy with her. She snarls that she’s made up her mind and she’s going. He asks if she’s jealous. He works on her some. At first she’s suspicious, accusing him of treating her like one of the “marks” he seduces, but she finally backs off.
Gabriel asks El Chalado why he warned him off Jennifer. The reply is that she was The Rottweiler’s girlfriend. When Gabriel says the key word is “was”, the answer is that it’s about honor. What’s his is always his.
At Casa Serrano everyone is in a tizzy getting this party together. I think some people they hired flaked out or something because Marta calls Ricardo and begs him to come.
Emiliana really wants Mondriana to come to the party. She produces a black dress that Mónica wore at the last concert she gave at home—the one where she fainted at the piano. The young girl playing Emiliana is adorable. Later we see Mondriana descending some stairs, fully made up and looking fabulous. Gerardo gapes a bit and La Bruja glares. Ernesto: ¡Qué mujerón!.
La Bruja goes right after Mondriana about wearing the dress, but Emiliana comes right up behind her and says she lent it to Mondriana.
Gabriel has managed to find Jennifer after bribing another street vendor. She explains to him the rules about the gangs controlling the neighborhood and that they won’t permit some guy from another area to date someone.
Whoops! Back at Casa Serrano, Judge Pervo has arrived with his wife. Mondriana rushes off, scared he’ll recognize her.
At the boarding house, Lupe tells Maite and Valeria Diego’s story after Maite does some wheedling. She tells them that his girlfriend was kidnapped and prostituted. Significant looks from the girls.
Judge Pervo puts his arm around Camila, and Mondriana goes nuts. She again grabs up a knife and runs toward him while Selma tries to stop her.
I was running late today so I will be putting the recap for Monday up on Tuesday morning. Oi, Oi, Oi, what an episode.
I'm looking forward to your recap. I have to say that Santiago had a nice talk with Lucinda the other day but today he gave off weird vibes, at least to me.
Part I
Carmina has fired Nina, so Nina begs to keep her job. Carmina yells and screams at Nina about betraying her, she treated her like a sister, a daughter, and her fantasy of a Mama. Nina does tell her that her Mama really is dead, but Carmina will not be moved and fires her anyways. Carmina starts throwing Nina's things around, they are in Nina's room and Nina gets on her knees and begs and pleads. They move out toward the kitchen and Janaina is still working. She is the only other person in the house besides Nina and Carmina. She hears all this and is upset. Carmina accuses Nina of being a liar, Nina says she was keeping an eye on Rita, so to make a long story short, Nina gets to stay for now, but she'll be keeping her eyes on Nina. After Car goes, Janaina can't believe that she let Car do that to her, get a job at a restaurant, Nina is better than this, but Nina loves the familia and Jan does tell her Jorgito is in the same condition.
At the hospital the whole family is there, except for Carmina, even Max has shown up. Tifon is surprised to see him and wants Max to go. Ivana isn't happy and goes with Max. Max tells Ivana this is the reason he left, no respect. Ivana tells Max it's just anxiety over Jorgito's condition. Max is upset cause what about Agatha? She's overweight and no one cares about her, but when Jorgito says jump the family asks how high?
Diogenes, Dolores and Suelen are together and Roni has locked himself in his bedroom and won't come out. Dolores blames herself, Diogenes blames Dolores too for doing the porn, and Suelen, the voice of reason, who knew, tells them Roni needs time.
Jorgito kind of wakes up again, and someone asks who Rita is. Ivana goes on about how Carmina hates Rita, but Jorgito would die for Rita, and Tifon wonders who she is.
Nina is thinking of Jorgito, when they were together, and him telling her he didn't understand what this grief was with Carmina.
Carmina comes the hospital and kicks Agatha off Jorgito's bed and talks to Jorgito, no response. She kicks everyone out of the room, they all go but Tifon. Tifon can't believe she just did that, and he tells her Jorgito said Rita's name, more bad news for Carmina so she argues with Tifon and tells him, say it with me now, it's all Rita's fault and Nina is Rita's accomplice. Tifon wants to know if Nina admitted to this. Car tells Tifon she wants to fire Nina. Tifon isn't having it and tells Car he wants to come to his own conclusions about Nina. When she was supposedly meeting her Mama she was meeting with Rita. Tifon wants to give Nina a chance. Car says it's only food and books, and Car reminds him she's in charge of the house and can fire her, and Tifon says give the girl a chance.
Nina goes to see Mama Lucinda and tells her what happened to Jorgito. Mama Lucinda does say it's Nina's fault. On Nina's quest for revenge, look what's happened to Mama Lucinda, Betania, Baldo and now Jorgito, collateral damage. They both pray to the Virgincita. It's the next morning and Nina is gathering the kids for breakfast, and Nina sees a bunch of new toys and a little girl tells Nina a friend of Mama Lucinda has gotten them nice things, that would be Tifon. Mama Lucinda wants Nina to stop the venganza obsession and Nina wants money for Max. Mama Lucinda tells her the money isn't there, and she's not telling her where it is. She says the money is far from there and she's going to visit Jorgito.
Part II
Suelen comes into the bedroom and talks to Roni. She tells him it's great to have a Mom, she lost hers when she was twelve. Look at the bright side, he has a great job with a great team, and on top of that he is marrying Suelen! She's a great companion he agrees and Suelen tries to do the deed with him, now he flips her over and I swear it looks like he wanted to, but tells her in her dreams and tickles her!
The Doc comes and tells Tifon and Carmina that Jorgito's tests came back great and no serious injuries. Mama Lucinda comes to the hospital and Carmina is pithed. She asks Tifon about Jorgito and he tells her, she'd like to visit with him alone. Tifon tells her it's okay but Carmina of course not. Mama L gets her time with Jorgito. She strokes his face, tells him he's young and he'll be fine. Meanwhile, Car spews to Tifon that this is all Mama L's fault too. Tifon finally tells Car that Jorgito is of age, if he wants to see Rita, why not? But, but Rita is a drug addict, could get Jorgito to do them, and she's the devil, Tifon doesn't believe it.
Max is on his yacht when the guy comes for payment. Max gives him a spiel of how he has invested some money for a quick return and he'll have the payment, no worries. The guy will come back. Nina is taking the trash out when Max comes by and wants his money, he needs 400 mil by tomorrow. She tells him okay and to leave. He goes.
Nilo is at home and Nina brings him liquor and gets him drunk. She wants some info on Mama Lucinda's past, like a friend. Nilo tells her about Santiago and the doll hospital. Nina calls around and finds out where it is, gets her old doll and goes there. She meets Santiago, gives him the doll. He says he has no kids, his wife is dead and he introduces himself and she tells him her name is Marina. While he is working on her doll and scopes the place out, gets his keys and makes an impression of his key on a bar of soap, she goes back down and gets her doll and thanks him and goes. She gets a key made from the impression in the soap.
Mama Lucinda is still with Jorgito when Carmina comes in and blames Mama Lucinda for being there and every bad thing that happened to Carmina was because of Mama Lucinda and Rita. Mama L tells her to shut it, she's loca and needs a doc and goes.
Carlitos calls Alexia and tells her what happened, Alexia thinks he's just there to see Veronica, but he tells her he's faithful and there for Debora. Noemia comes with Tomas and Alexia hears them, Carlitos says he is on his way home. Carlitos tells Debora is she need anything to call him, Noemia and Veronica tease him and Debora wants to know why they are torturing him.
Tifon comes home and talks to Nina. He also gives her an update on Jorgito and says Carmina isn't well. He knows about Car trying to fire her and Tifon wants her to stay. Just try to get along with Carmina. He even gives her time off.
Car talks to Jorgito. Tifon comes in and tells her to go home. Jorgito wakes up and recognizes them and asks where Mama Lucinda went. They get the Doc and he thinks this is great that Jorgito recognized them. Tifon tells Car to go home and she does, all the while saying that Jorgito is her life. Tifon talks to Jorgito and tells him he's young and so much of life ahead.
Family is at home eating when Car comes home. She gives them news of Jorgito, they are glad. Car is going to bed and the family is raving about the food, so good. Car still wants to get rid of Nina, and the family doesn't agree with her. Aduato thinks it would be a shame to just throw her out on the street.
Part III
Santiago is done for the night and leaves. Nina comes and uses the key, and searches for her money. She finds it and packs it into her backpack and even leaves Santiago a note. She brings the money home, slits her mattress and hides it there.
Suelen opens the Roperia. Darson can't believe it. Suelen says she's worked there a long time and she has a deal for Darson. She puts him in a dressing room. He comes out in tight pants, a bathing suit top and heels! He gets a microphone and every one laughs and he does a pitch for the Roperia.
Santiago comes to work and finds the note Nina left for him. So that was the famous Nina he says.
Nina goes and Carmina talks to Ivana who is doing yoga. Ivana misses Max and wants to know why he wouldn't accept her conditons. Carmina tells Ivana that Max needs her support and protection, do that and he'll come back. Carmina goes and calls Max, tells him to prepare they have much to celebrate and he's delicious!
Nina goes to the cabin and sees that crawl space/vent and climbs up there and checks it out. Max is on the phone and Nina hears him order champagne. She wants to know why he's celebrating, and who with, acting like she's jealous. She tells him about Car trying to fire her and she's brought the money which she throws up in the air. He rubs his face in the money. It's 300 mil she's brought him. He's all happy and says he dreams of her body and her kisses and slimes on her again. She says she has to go, doesn't want Car to fire her. She blows him kisses and goes. Car calls and he could care less. He doesn't get why Nina is still working for Carmina.
Carmina and family at dinner. The family talks about Jorgito and how Carmina wants to get rid of Nina. Tifon says Nina stays, the family agrees and Carmina is out voted again, they do this in front of Nina. Carmina has to go to a meeting at that organization for the kids, Tifon wants to go, but Car says it isn't necessary. The family eats, Nina has a tummy ache, more time off.
Car meets Max at the cabin and Nina has followed with her camera. Car and Max go at it and Nina takes video. Will she get enough this time? What will happen next? Oi, Oi, Oi.
Thanks so much, Mads.
I saw this last 2-hr episode, but missed the ones before it. I'm glad I missed Jorgito having yet another emotional breakdown and tantrum after catching Nina and Max. Time for him to man up.
Sue- I didn't get any creepy vibes from Santiago. But I do find it interesting that like Lucinda, he loves kids. She finds, collects and fixes broken kids. He fixes broken dolls and toys for kids.
That look on Max's face when Nina slipped away from his advances yet again in the cabin was hard and scary. I definitely see a rape attempt happening at some point.
Carmina convinced Ivana to invest money in the new business Max wants to start. That's why she and Max were celebrating. I want Nina to start exposing Carmina's and Max's crimes, particularly the money laundering and skimming they've done off of Tifon and his family.
I thought the hospital scene with Max was interesting. I noted a tiny glimmer of fatherly concern when he reached out to touch Jorgito. But then that turned to jealousy and resentment when Tifon marked his territory as Jorgito's papa and kicked Max out. Max lashing out ans criticizing Tifon for his fathering skills which have turned Jorgito into an emotional brat, and Agatha into a chubster, was really all about him resenting that Tifon is father to HIS kids, Max has no say and no one knows the truth.
In a titanic, gripping episode, the lives of many of our characters are changed forever.
Jacinto creeps up to sleeping Alma, knife in hand. He doesn’t want to kill her, but orders are orders. She opens her eyes. Hello, Jacinto. He says he’s sorry for what he has to do. Oh, you’re not going to kill me, she says calmly. He tries to make himself do it anyway, but at the last minute, Antonio bursts in and stops him. Tony wants to kill Jacinto, but Alma says no, let’s just send him back to Arnulfo and have him TELL Arnie that he DID kill me. Tony’s not sure, so far has Jacinto tied up.
Facundo is carrying out some more orders from Arnulfo. Seems that Arnie was pissed that none of the hookers from Tomasa’s brothel could sooth his worries, and were all repulsed by his face. So he blames Tomasa, and has Facundo set fire to her place, burning it down. She complains, Arnie doesn’t care. La Nacha tells Arnie to make Facundo his right hand man, and he does, in a blood-brother type ceremony. Cool!
La Nacha is not happy with Tony, though, calling him to tell him that someone is honing in on her marijuana trade by smuggling pot across the border in surfboards. Tony didn’t know about this, but agrees to stop it. WE know that it’s Johnny the surfer dude, on orders from Xiang. Xiang finds out Johnny shorted him one key (kilo), and warns him not to try that again (Johnny wanted to smoke it himself). So they set up another surfboard-er crossing. To Xiang’s consternation, Alacran rides up (on Antonio’s orders), pulls his gun, commandeers Johnny’s truck, and turns it right around. Whoops!
Allison has a tearful goodbye with Aaron, and she and Emi, Jr. go to San Francisco. Meanwhile, Emilio, Camelia and Mireya try to figure out what to do with the suitcase of weed. Camelia has an idea, let’s put it in the tires of the car! They do, and Emilio and Cami go to cross the border. The plan is to sell it to the contacts in the US, and then come back and get Mireya. Then they could go to LA (Mireya’s thinking Hollywood!) Emilio and Cami get in the car, Cami drives up to the checkpoint, using her sexiness to get past any border guards. But the border guard is our old friend Bill! He lets them through, but then recognizes Emilio (he thinks it’s Aaron, whom he thinks slept with his now dead wife Kimberly). After getting through, Emilio unwisely leans back out of the car and yells mockingly, say hello to Kimberly! They speed off.
But Bill’s not done. The car pulls into a deserted auto graveyard, and Cami and Emilio are happy, until Bill’s squad car screams up. He quickly pulls his gun, takes Emilio’s, and tells “Aaron” he’s going to pay. First he’s going to shoot Emilio, then he decides to kill Cami, taking away his rival’s woman, just as what was done to him. But Cami kicks him in the privates, Emilio grabs the gun away, and he and Bill stare each other down. From behind comes a shot. Cami grabbed the other gun out of the car, and has Killed Bill in cold blood! She did what she had to do. Two more cop cars come up, Emilio and Cami look at each other, and they start firing, killing all the cops! They speed away.
They meet up with Emilio’s connection, sell the weed, and they’re rich! Camelia is overjoyed, everything is going right. But Emilio keeps secretly looking at a baseball card he’s been holding in his pocket. It’s Bob Ferguson (a not too great player). Emilio had promised Emi, Jr. he’d trade it, and bring back Camilo Pasqual. He keeps thinking of his son (and his wife, the “owner of his life”), out there in San Francisco. He turns to Cami, I’ve got to leave. We had a good ride. You can keep the car. Why? It’s my past. Wait a minute, replies a tearful Camelia. For once in your damned life, tell me the truth! Okay, fine, I have a wife and a son. And I’m going to San Francisco.
Cami’s in shock. But still...........She walks over to Emilio, and plants a HUGE kiss on him, telling him, I love you will all my heart.
Back in Mexico, Lu has been trying to listen to Alma’s cassette tapes, to find out the future. Once Antonio caught her. But now little Alma is asleep. Lu is watching from the next room. Alma appears to be dreaming fitfully. She wakes up, and half awake, grabs the microphone, presses record, saying I’m surrounded, I’m going to be killed!
Lu finally has an insight into the future, since Alma’s predictions always come true. (But could little Alma be faking???) We’ll see.
thanks so much Hombre!
I've still no captions, but you've answered most of my questions.
I don't think Emilio knew the rest-of-the-story with Kimberly, not something Aaron would talk about, and I guess Uncle Bill always thought it was only Aaron.
surfer dude is funny, talking about a commission, and another time when Xiang calls him, he's stoned, it cracks me up to see the hardened Xiang's plans go awry.
ah, a tid bit at the end, after the kiss,
Emilio takes his cut and walks away,
Camelia raises the gun, stops him, tears in her eyes and cocks it,
pointing it straight at Emilio...
.......................................
the song, (the legend)...
[this translates pretty well in google]
Salieron de San Isidro,
procedentes de Tijuana,
traian las llantas del carro
repletas de hierba mala,
eran Emilio Varela,
y Camelia, la Tejana
Pasaron por San Clemente
los paró la emigración,
les pidió sus documentos,
les dijo: ¿De donde son?
Ella era de San Antonio,
un hembra de corazón.
Una hembra si quiere un hombre,
por él puede dar la vida,
pero hay que tener cuidado
si esa hembra se siente herida,
la traición y el contrabando...
son cosas incompartidas.
A Los Angeles llegaron,
a Hollywood se pasaron,
en un callejón oscuro
las cuatro llantas cambiaron,
ahi entregaron la hierba...
y ahi también les pagaron
Emilio dice a Camelia:
Hoy te das por despedida,
con la parte que te toca
tu puedes rehacer tu vida,
yo me voy pa` San Francisco,
con la dueña de mi vida
Sonaron siete balazos...
(there are only 5 more lines but could be a spoiler)
Thanks, Deb, how could I forget Camelia is pointing that gun? :)
Thanks also for the song, which does seem to portray this very episode, and yes, hold those last lines for now!
Part I
Nina takes her video and is done and trips going out the vent/crawl space and almost gets caught. Carmina and Max hear they run outside and Carmina thinks she heard a moto. Max not so much. They go back inside and do the deed. They did find a jacket or part of one. Carmina tells Max that she thinks Nina is an accomplice of Rita and wants to get rid of her, but Tifon won't let her. Its all about venganza against Carmina. Carmina can't wait till everything is theirs and goes. Max sniffs that jacket and figures out Nina was there.
Ivana wants Max back. Tifon is tired of hearing it and goes for a drink. He and Leleco play pool. Leleco thinks that Carmina isn't as faithful as she says. He thinks Tifon ought to run off with Nina. Tifon not so much.
Nina goes to the hospital to see Jorgito and snuggles with him on the bed, tells him she loves him, everything will be over soon, and Debora sees, and kicks Nina out. Enough already she says. Jorigto here cause of her. Nina goes. Jorgito opens his eyes and says mi amore you are here with me always. I don't think he meant Debora either. He did recognize Debora.
Jorgito is now fully conscious and Tifon and Carmina there. He wants to know why he is in the hospital. Seems Jorgito got an edema on that rock, it didn't hemorrhage and is going on its own. Family is happy he can go home. Carmina goes out to talk to Debora and says she knew Nina was talking to Rita. Debora doesn't tell her anything. Tifon calls Muricy to have Nina make a special dinner for Jorgito's homecoming.
Mama Lucinda and Santiago have a chat. He tells her that Nina came by for her money. Mama Lucinda says that money was Tifon's and not Nina's. He also showed her the note that Nina left. Santiago thinks this is Nina's path and not to stop her from it. Mama Lucinda goes back to Tiradero.
Nilo takes the trash out, ZeZe spies on Nina and he's there for money. Nina tells him to go and she'll see him later. ZeZe reports back to Carmina.
Dolores is at the Roperia and asks Suelen how Roni is. Suelen says give him time, she abandoned Roni when he was little. Dolores agrees it is so, and says Roni needs someone like Suelen. Diogenes comes and gives Dolores crap for being there, and is amazed Suelen got all these people to shop there. He wonders if he needs an exorcist to get rid of Dolores, she goes.
Car comes home, tells the good news and ZeZe reports what she saw. Nina gave Nilo money. Car goes upstairs and is pithed and thinks what do Nilo and Nina have to do with each other? She thinks back to Baldo, Betania and Nilo.
Carlitos runs into Noemia at an exhibiton, next thing ya know they are doing it in the uterus exhibit. So Carlitos is NOT faithful. Afterwards, Noemia goes to Veronica's and watches the Godfather Part II with her.
Carmina picks up Lucio for another job. This time it's searching Betania and Baldo's place for evidence. Carmina finds Betania's passport and finds out she isn't Rita. Betania and Baldo come home and it's beat down time again. Carmina wants answers, Betania won't say and Baldo tells her to quit protecting the other! Betania gets free, opens the window and shouts for the cops. Lucio drags Carmina out of there. Carmina drives away and is pithed that Betania isn't Rita.
It figures that Diego would have more success reaching Valeria than a therapist did.
According to online dictionaries, Rottweiler is the name of the breed of dog in both English and Spanish so I guess it isn't that strange that the gang leader is named Rottweiler. I think it sounds silly, not menacing, in Spanish.
There's not really that much to comment on in this capitulo - not that much happened.
OK, I've thought his from day one and just have to ask. Does anyone else think that Ricardo looks like Harold from Harold and Kumar, etc.?
Part II
Nina goes to see Mama Lucy and tells her that she saw Jorgito and it will be a new life for them. Mama Lucy wants to know if she quit her job? Nopis but finally has proof against Carmina. Nina shows Mama Lucy the camera and the proof. Mama L wants her to find another way. Don't do this cause will hurt that family, and Jorgito may never forgive her. Nina is determined and won't be swayed.
Nilo is home and gets a visit from Carmina and Lucio. Carmina beats him up pretty good and searches the place and finds Rita's childhood pic and one of Nina and Rita's doll. Carmina vows that Rita will pay. She puts two and two together and figures out Nina is in fact Rita. Carmina chokes Nilo and wants to know if it's true. Nilo laughs in her face and tells her Mama L sent Rita far away and now this is Dios' punishment on Carmina. Lucio ends up hitting Nilo.
Tifon brings Jorgito home and the family fawns on him. Tifon asks after Nina and Carmina. They are both out. Leleco comes with Tessalia and there is the usual argument with Muricy and Leleco. Nina serves them a meal and Agatha asks if he remembers Nina, sure she is the chef. Best chef the family says and there is a long look with Nina and Jorgito.
Lucinda goes to see Santiago and is very worried. She tells him about proof Nina has against Carmina. Santiago says let it be, but Lucinda for some reason feels the need to protect Carmina from things, cause it's all Lucinda's fault what happened to Carmina and Santiago says not to blame herself it wasn't her fault. We still don't know what that is.
Janaina and Nina are in the kitchen when Carmina comes in. Nina is busy making a special something for Jorgito. Tifon asked Nina to go on vacay with the family, they are taking Jorgito. Carmina tells her to make this dinner like it was her last. There is a stare down.
Family is at dinner and Carmina tries to hug Jorgito who shrugs her off. Carmina says Jorgito was mad at her and that's why he went to the mountains. Ivana asks if Max can go on vacay with them, but nopis. Carmina isn't going, she's staying. They ask Nina what she wants to do? Stay or go? She'll stay with Carmina.
Carlitos and infidelity part II he does it with Veronica. Don't tell Noemia. Veronica would rather be an amante than a wife. Noemia comes by and secretly makes another meeting with Noemia, so much for a straight and true Carlitos.
The family goes on vacay and Nina, Janaina, ZeZe and Carmina wave bye to them. The first thing Carmina does is give Janaina time off. Carmina has plans you see. She goes to Nina's room and while she is ironing Carmina remarks the room could use some work. Nina likes the simplicity. Carmina will spend these days alone with Nina and she goes as Nina hums.
Carmina calls Max who isn't answering. He pays that yacht guy the rest of the money and takes the yacht out.
Part III
Carmina goes to the cabin and spews her crap about Nina being Rita. Max is having a hard time believing it. Carmina keeps hitting herself in the face saying she's an idiot. I think Carmina has gone to crazy town. Max wants to know if she has talked to Nina about this, nopis. She has a little surprise for Nina. Carmina is wondering if maybe Nina has gotten some proof against them, she has been in that house for awhile now, and Max looks scared. So Max is gonna help Carmina out in this plan against this cobra Nina/Rita. They will be rid of her once and for all.
Nina is in the kitchen and ZeZe is there. Nina goes to her room, gets her camera and takes the film to a developer to get developed.
Mama L is with the kids and Nilo comes all beaten up and gets the kids to go and he tells Mama L what happened. Did he warn Nina at least Mama L asks. Nopis. Mama Lucinda is beside herself.
Carmina comes home and ZeZe tells her Nina went out. So Carmina has ZeZe check Nina's room for her cell phone and to bring it to her. ZeZe does and there is an incoming call, it is Mama Lucinda calling to warn Nina. Carmina tells her she knows that Nina is really Rita. Mama L warns her she'll call the cops. That's okay Carmina says, there is enough on Mama Lucinda too where the cops will put her away. Mama Lucinda wants to talk to Nina, no can do. Carmina hangs up on her and dumps the phone in a glass of water. Carmina says tomorrow is the day.
Next day, Carmina is in bed, not having slept and Nina comes in with breakfast. Carmina really doesn't want anything, but when Nina's back is turned puts some drug in a glass of juice and has Nina try it. She tells Nina she is such a talented chef did she get this training at Tiradero. Nina is surprised by this and Carmina calls her Rita and tells her welcome to hell! What happens to Nina now? Oi, oi, oi!
Romy
Oi, oi, oi, indeed! Nina's in deep doo doo now. How will she get out of this?
The convo between Lucinda and Sebas was interesting. She feels guilty about Carmina. And whatever it is she did, makes her not feel worthy of Sebastian's love. Plus, we know something in her past could land her in jail if it gets out. Lots of secrets there. I hope we find out what that's about soon.

I agree with Vivi about Santiago. Mama Lucinda takes care of kids and Santiago heals their toys. I just wonder what this thing is that Lucinda blames herself for in reference to Carmina. I wonder if maybe there was a rape as Carmina said and Mama Lucinda couldn't stop it? Just a theory.
Vivi:
You are so spot on about Max and also Santiago. I get the same vibe as you about Santiago. I too wonder what the heck is gonna happen to Nina now. She sure is in the soup and how will she manage to get out. I am really worried for her. This time I think she will have a hard time. At least Mama Lucinda knows what is going on as does Nilo and they may be her only hope.
Anon 2:44:
Yes, please join us.
Romy:
I look forward to this TN everyday to see what else Carmina can dish out and Nina can put a stop to. I just wish Nina had shown some proof already. Now she is stuck with no way out, unless someone helps her.
Now my own thoughts. I am really curious to see what this secret is that Lucinda is keeping about Carmina and Santiago keeps saying it wasn't her fault. Also it seems Jorgito has amnesia short term, as in he can't remember what happened to him and why he was in the mountains and I wonder if he was playing with Nina by saying she is the chef, or if he really doesn't remember her? I wish Nina had gone with the family.
I can't wait to see Wed's episode! Carmina can't have Nina arrested for false identity because her name was legally changed to Nina Hernandez when she was adopted. She pointed this out to Max. And speaking of, what will happen when she finds out that he knew Nina was Rita and didn't tell her?
I hope Santiago is a good guy. Though one thing I like about this novela that there is no black and white as far as characters go. Even Tifón has his flaws. More later when I get home from work. Oi, Oi, Oi!
so much for our young innocent girl, dreaming of being a dental assistant,
(what would Dr. Frager say?)
here is the last verse of the song,
Sonaron siete balazos,
Camelia a Emilio mataba,
la policìa sòlo hallò
una pistola tirada,
del dinero y de Camelia...
Nunca mas se supo nada
(this was playing in the background as Camelia drove away from the scene)
and so ends the song/story/legend,
where do we go from here?
(btw, one article I read said this is a 60 episode series)
I wonder if they chose the name, Rita, for the main character because it could be pronounced with such venom by Carmina? I can't imagine Carmina saying the name of any other female character in the novela with that amount of hate.
Thanks, Deb. A 60 episode series is just fine by me.
For all those who didn't like Camelia to hook up with Emilio, your prayers were answered, she won't have to. She KILLS him, with 7 bullets! I'm a little confused as to all the guns, later, we saw her reloading a 6 shooter, but oh well.
Alma tells Antonio she has to die to appease Arnulfo, and Jacinto is sent back to tell Arnie he succeeded in killing her. But then Alma DOES die. And no marks on the body, no clues. Arnie wants proof, tells Facundo to bring back something, like a FINGER. Gulp.
Speaking of dying, Alacran has surfer Johnny tied up, where did he get the drugs for the surfboards. Johnny gives Xiang's name and address, Alacran shoots Johnny dead.
Three down. Who's next?
La Nacha and Arnulfo give Facundo a complete list of all the drug routes, and all the drug dealers in their whole operation! Now that he's a blood brother, he has to know this. He's thinking to himself, if only he can get away and get the info to Carson!
Carson finds Emilio's body, has to notify the family. He arrives at Aaron's house, thinks Aaron is Emilio, the twin thing is explained. Hiding in the background are Alacran, holding a gun on Xiang. Alacran also thought Aaron was Emilio, but Aaron leaves with Carson. He later calls Allison, who is destroyed, of course. Her mother in San Francisco, where they're living, has no emotions. She knew it'd happen, just a matter of time.
Antonio tells Lu that Xiang double crossed him with the mota thing, Alacran may be bringing him home in a box.
Camelia rides into the LA hills, ditches the car, burns her bloody blouse, walks back to a diner, meets a guy named Chava, distrust him and staggers off, puts her hat (actually Emilio's on his police body sketch), returns with her money, Chava gives her a new blouse, she's off again, still in a fog (but with the satchel of cash and a loaded gun)!
thanks SO much Hombre!
I feel like I'm on the sidelines on this one, and you really filled me in on a couple of things.
yes, all the guns, I think Camelia and Emilio each had a revolver, so that semi-automatic pistol might have been uncle Bills, but after she shot Emilio with it, she threw that to the ground (and as the song says, "la policìa sòlo hallò, una pistola tirada") and then picked up Emilio's shiny 6 gun.
so Alma dies, or does she, it seems she had a plan, and it seems Antonio hustled everyone off, and that ever present shadow Lu, is getting scarier every day.
funny how someone threw something in Alma's grave, and Antonio shouted that Alma was not a bruja but a saint, and of course we have a priest standing there, (who didn't seem to care either way)
I'm gonna miss the surfer dude.
wow, so Arulfo handed Facundo "everything", routes, contacts, crooked police, could this be a trap, is Moi really going to betray la Nacha?
I keep waiting to see some of that cigar smoke leak out of Arulfo's cheek bandage.
the end, (maybe because I don't watch the previews) Camelia, who has been reliving all of Emilio's inspired, hopes and dreams and then his betrayal, returns to that dinner (where else can she go) and meets with her "new" cousin, but the cops arrive, so she ducks out the back door, drawing her gun, and in her daze sees Emilio, smiling like he always does, and as she goes to him,
Womp!,
she gets run over by a car,
that keeps on going, as the cousin runs to her side.
Benigno can't seem to keep the hookers away from his office steps, but what was that scene in the morgue, over that dead girl, where he sets down his beer and the doctor picks it up as they talk, and starts drinking it?
btw, here is an interesting quote from an article I read on our story,
"It's a story that deals with what has been going on in the United States and what's been going on in Mexico since the '70s, when alliances were created among the narco-traffickers," Hayser said. "It speaks historically about the migration of Mexicans to the United States, how these routes were created in the first place in order to transport humans into the United States and then were used to transport drugs."

Mondriana is prevented from stabbing Judge Pervo by Gerardo, who also sees red about his familiarity with Camila. He threatens Pervo if he approaches the girls.
The body of the lawyer that La Bruja wounded and forced Gerardo to finish off has been found, and it's all over the news in LA. Gerardo is freaked.
Mondriana gives the dije to Esteban so some university can examine it [really?].
Gerardo sinks pretty low peeping at Mondriana through the window of her casita while she conveniently has her robe untied and sexy underwear showing. [For a refugee from a burned down bordello, she surely has nice clothes, especially the undies.]
Ricardo is working the homenaje party (so very weird) preparing and serving canapés when he spies Camila being comforted by Ernesto. He punches him out and gets thrown out for it. Elena, in her nastiest tone, warns Marta that she herself will be in the street if her sons ever appear again.
The upside of this is Marta visiting Gabriel and finally, finally siding with her children instead of being the doormat of the Serrano family.
Oh for crying out loud! When Lupe tells Maite and Valeria Diego's whole story about searching for his lost love, they decide he's working for Evil Carlos. They hear him on the phone talking to Don Mario's lawyer and run, terrified, up the stairs in the classic TN ploy of only hearing the worst part of a phone call.
They call Mondriana to warn her and, if I remember correctly, meet her in the only bar in LA: La Malquerida (I do love this bar name.) Diego rushes in and sees Mondriana. Tonight should be good!
Deb
I was thinking the same thing. I don't think Alma is dead. I think it was her plan, along with her dad's to fake her death. At least I hope so! Never a dull moment on this novel.

Part I
Oi, Oi, Oi! This was a pivotal episode. So we left Carmina having drugged Rita and now it's a shouting match. Carmina tells her she knows she is really Rita, she purposely sought a job in the house to get her venganza on Carmina and to seduce her son. (What part doesn't Carmina get about Jorgito and Rita having been in love since they were kids? Forgein concept I guess.) Carmina also insults Genesio and Rita's Mama. Nina is fit to be tied and admits that she is Rita. Carmina took everything from her, that Carmina is a witch and less than human. Nina is feeling the effects of the drug now and calls Carmina a ramera before she passes out. Carmina yells for Lucio, he ties Rita up, covers her with a blanket and puts her in the trunk of Carmina's car. Unbeknownst to them Janaina sees, but not what is being carried, and ZeZe also comes out and missed it too. Car and Lucio drive off.
Mama Lucinda, Betania and Nilo are all together worrying about Nina, all but Nilo. He doesn't think Carmina will do anything to Nina. Mama Lucinda vows to help Nina and goes.
In what looks like a grave is where Nina wakes up and has dirt thrown in her face. Carmina is up above and says she should have left when she had the chance and now she has to pay the consequences. Carmina tells Lucio to shoot Nina. Carmina orders him to fire and at the last minute stops him. She tells Nina she is feeling generous and won't kill her this time. She wants Nina to beg her pardon. Nina yells perdon, but Carmina wants a begging so Nina does it. Carmina tells her not to look for Tifon, get far away from Jorgito and neva come back. Before Carmina leaves she pees on Nina, ugh!!!!! oh, and she wished her good luck. Nina is left in that hole all tied up. When Carmina and Lucio get to the car he looks a bit bothered and Carmina calls him on it.
The family is on vacay and Tifon comes in and asks if anyone has heard from Carmina? Nopis and Nina either.
Max comes to the Tiradero looking for Nina. Max asks Nilo if he knew that Nina was Rita.
Nina is still in the hole tied up and she works on untying herself.
Mama Lucinda has made it to Carmina's and gets in front of her car. She wants Nina. Mama Lucinda goes in the house and demands her little Nina. Well she's dead says Carmina. Poor Mama Lucinda, and then Carmina says she is alive. Carmina wants Mama Lucinda to make sure Nina leaves the country or she'll kill Nina for realz next time. She wants to go to Nina, but Carmina says she's far from there and Lucio escorts her out, and Carmina yells at her to never come back.
Nina is crying and has untied her self and is crawling out of the hole. She starts to walk but is having a hard time her legs are like rubber. She passes out again. She wakes on the stairs and it's pouring rain. She gets up and walks again. Nina is on a country road, and a truck sees her wobbling down the road and the driver stops, he's an older gentleman and puts her in his truck. Nina ends up at the Photo Mat and those pictures are perfect! She smiles.
Roni, Suelen, Diogenes are at the Roperia and Diogenes is happy with the sale. Dolores is there too and wants to talk to Roni. Think of Dolores as the friend she was to him before he found out she was his Mama. Roni wants her to go.
Part II
The family is at the beach and Ivana is depressed as is Jorgito. The family goes on a hike, except Tifon and Jorgito. The family hike and Leleco and Muricy tag behind, eat berries, do the deed and then decide to forget about what just happened as the family comes back for them.
Jorgito is on the hammock and remembers his first meeting with Nina and the first time they made love. Tifon sits with him and asks him why he went to the mountains. Was he running from a girl? Jorgito says his past with this girl is complicated and confusing. They are going to cook out.
Max is still at Tiradero waiting for Mama L. Mama L can't believe Max is there too and tells them that Nina was fired and then disappeared. Mama L wants Max and Nilo to go. Max gets a call and it's Carmina. They urge him to answer. She wants a meet at the cabin in an hour. They want Max to get Car to tell them what she did with Nina. Mama L throws Nilo out and Betania tries to calm Mama L. Later they pray for Nina.
Janaina and ZeZe talk about how strange Car is being, and where is Nina? She is gone and all her stuff is still there, her books, her clothes, what is going on? Lucio comes in the kitchen and Jan wants to know what he is doing there? Car calls Jan in for a chat. She has hired Lucio and Tifon doesn't have the say, Car doesn, it's her house. Nina doesn't exist anymore y punto. Jan goes. Car gets a call from Tifon in which she slimes on him on the phone of course. He asks after Nina and she says she's great. Tifon wants a good dinner from Nina when they get back.
Car goes to the cabin and has brought a gift. She has finally gotten rid of that Rita, and has brought French champagne. Rita was recycled into Nina and now she's gone. Max thinks Car killed Nina. No she didn't kill Nina but now she is gone foreva and Car is free, they drink champagne.
Nina is in a bath at Begonia's and shivering. Begonia is afraid she'll get sick, but Nina tells her it's her rage that is making her shake. Nina now has proof against Carmina and can't wait to see her face. Nina's revenge continues. Nina is going to Carmina's castle to prepare a dinner she'll never forget. Carmina will be all alone in her castle. Nina will make Car dance to her tune. She goes.
Carmina is laughing about what she did to Nina. Max is looking worried and Car asks if he is worried about that little chef? Max is worried about Lucio, he knows too much. Max also tells Car that Nina isn't a nobody, she has money and family in Argentina. He also gets on Car for never giving him money like she promised. Car asks if he thinks that Nina is more attractive than Car who thinks she is better looking than Nina! The toast and drink. Max is still worried about Nina and Carm tells him no worries forget about her. Car has a surprise for Max, and he'll be excited.
Mama L and Betania still worried about Nina. Betania thinks that maybe Car killed Nina. Betania will cook for the kids. Nilo comes by for news of Nina. He claims he is a worried Papa as Mama L is a worried Mama. Nilo also thinks that Car could have killed Nina. Mama L is all too aware of that.
Thanks Novelera for the extra recap.
Advice to all peeping toms: Make sure your cell phone is set to vibrate!
So Maite and Valeria are going to meet Mondriana in the one bar where Diego might turn up. Maite has seen him there before.
Could you get any dumber than Ricardo punching Ernesto out and making scene with Camelia at the
party?
Maybe Selma kitted Mondriana out with a lot of fancy underwear (and clothes).
I thought the pervy judge said that he was going out of town for a few weeks. Maybe he changed his mind after Elena and Gerado set him up with the prostitute.
Part III
Nina talks to Jan and convinces her to let her into the mansion, later. Jan is hesitant, cause Lucio is also there but agrees to help her.
Mona Lisa is cleaning Jorgito and Iran's place, ya know guys don't clean is what Mona Lisa says. Debora drops by with the name of a head doc for Jorgito and invites Iran and Mona Lisa to her birthday party.
Nilo is at the hotel eating when Max drops by. Nilo is suspicious about why Max is wanting to find out about Rita? Is he in love with her maybe? Both Car and Max's fates could be in Nina's hands. Max doesn't like that. Car calls Max and has a surprise for him. After getting off the phone Nilo says he is still at the beck and call of La Patrona like her dog. Max doesn't like this. Max tells Nilo well since Nina is now gone, no more hotel, good food back to the Tiradero for Nilo!
Nina goes to the Tiradero finally and Mama L is over joyed to see her. She tells Mama L that Carmina put her into a freshly dug grave at the cemetery. Mama L is horrified. That bruja is perverse, but no matter, Nina wants her justice and will have it. Now she has Car in her hands and Car will wish she had killed Nina. Nina wants Mama L to be calm. Mama L wants her to stop the venganza think of Jorgito. Leave the justice to Dios. Nina says the reign of Queen Car is over.
Car leaves the house and Nina is there. She wants Jan to let her in but Lucio is there. Nina will climb the fence but Jan lets her in. Jan distracts Lucio by saying the cops called and are looking for him about Nina I think. He goes. Nina comes in and smiles.
Car and Max are at a club, dancing, drinking and sliming on each other.
Car comes home yelling for Lucio, who isn't there. No one is. Nina comes with a flashlight and says she's prepared a dinner, have a seat chillax, and it's one she will never forget. She tells Car they are alone in the house, no one is there. Nina turns on the lights and Carmina sees her and Max en flagrante all over the walls. Carmina is stunned and panic striken and Nina asks if she likes them! Oi, Oi, Oi! What is gonna happen now!!!!!
thanks so much novelera!
I shouldn't laugh but it cracked me up when Valeria, upon hearing the name Adriana, fell off the couch, on to her butt on the floor, she (Alexandra Pomales, El fantasma de Elena /La casa de al lado) did that so well.
hmm, did the pervo judge upon hearing of Monica's lawyers death, start putting 2 and 2 together, as he seems to be going from an easy blackmail to a key player, and I think he an Elena will get along just fine, as she tosses him the girls, maybe it's not-so-much about the money as it is about having the upper hand.
Monica really hasn't done her homework very well on who this Adriana person is, and I'm thinking she will just try to brush off this Diego guy too, after all she is on a mission to protect her girls. But did they also reveal that Carlos is out?
Madelaine- as I've said earlier, I'm not able to watch this one, but I see parts and know most of the characters, but your summaries and comments are a must read for me every day, (you do this SO well) thank you so, so, very much!
I just posted a quick one about what I remembered, so thanks, Deb, for remembering Judge Pervo putting 2 and 2 together when he heard that Mónica's lawyer was murdered.
And, yes, Don Mario's lawyer told Diego two things: Don Mario did die of his wounds, and, without Diego there to testify against him, Carlos would be released for lack of evidence. And he'd probably pull out all the stops trying to find Diego and finish him off.
Romy
Nanette, they're usually extremely cagey about saying how many episodes there are. If it's a big hit, they lard on more stuff. If it's a bomb, they try to get it over with quickly.
Maybe someone else knows. I googled it and could find nothing
Novelera, thank you for this week's recaps. My job has kept me so busy, I hardly had any time to watch.
I did manage to catch up last night, now I only have one show left to see.
Gerardo is turning out to be quite the stalker! How long will it be before Mondriana sees his true face?
Also, if I see her one more time admire her body in the mirror ...!!! Those scenes give me the strangest vibe, she looks so fascinated by this young body and so horny thinking about Gerardo all the time, I half expect her to start taking care of business, you know...
NOW, that would be a great stalking experience for Gerardo!
Madelaine, thank you for all the recaps! I'm way behind on this one, I plan to do a marathon of sorts today.
Finally things are moving along, apparently.
Wow that Carmina is one complicated character! She's not totally evil (though she's close) because we do see her love for Jorgito and, in her own warped way, Max. She did it again yesterday, referring to Jorgito in front of Max as "my son" not "our son."
We know nothing of Carmina's childhood except that she was raised in the tiradero and that, according to her, Mama Lucinda is responsible for everything bad that has happened to her. Not a spoiler just a guess: was Carmina abused by someone and Lucinda did nothing to stop it?
If Nina hadn't been able to untie herself who knows what would have happened. Yet she wants to continue tormenting her tormentor. Oi! Got to go to work.
Wow! This is one sick dance of one-upmanship between Nina and Carmina. Nina is starting to turn into Carmina. Watching her as she manipulated Jaina into letting her into the house was just like watching Carmina manipulate someone. It was so false and insincere, and a bit evil.
Sue- I'm also thinking something like sexual abuse in Carmina's childhood, but we'll see.
Jean:
I too wonder if the writers used the name Rita for all the rolling r's that Carmina uses. She almost spits that name doesn't she?
Deb:
Thanks so much for your kind words. I really learned how to condense with this one, but get the most important parts in.
HatianMama:
Nina did not plan this out very well did she? I wish she had. There would have been subtler ways to have outed Carmina. She's young though, and acts impulsively, not worrying about the collateral damage she is causing. Especially to her best friend, Betania and Jorgito the love of her life. She isn't seeing the potential damage to Tifon and Agatha either.
Adriana Noel:
Yes, please catch up. This one has so many twists and turns. I wonder what they will come up with next!
Sue 455:
I too wonder if it was some type of abuse in Carmina's childhood that Lucinda either didn't stop, or didn't know about until it was too late. I have noticed that Carmina is more physical in her evil than other evil women in TNs I have seen. I agree she loves Jorgito, but sometimes I think it's because Jorgito is solely hers, as in property in a way. She "made" him therefore he is hers. And no one messes with what Carmina owns, so to speak.
Vivi:
That's one thing I'm not liking about Nina, she is starting to channel Carmina. I wanted Nina to take the high road, but after everything that Carmina and Max have done to her I can just imagine the horror of that when she was little, and now with what Carmina has just done! Nina is full of rage and wants an end result that is quick, but Nina isn't realizing the collateral damage or how Carmina is older and has been at this game a lot longer. I also can't see how Nina can continue to work there. Now let's see how these pictures work on Carmina!
Now on to my own thoughts. Is Max possibly in love with Nina? I'm wondering. He sure was anxious to find Nina. Of course he never goes far enough as in demanding to know. After Car told him she didn't kill her, that was enough for him. It surprised me that he went to the Tiradero to find out info.
Is there still money in that mattress? I wonder cause I don't think that Nina gave Max everything she had. I thought that maybe that's why she was so desperate to get back into the house, besides trying to get back at Carmina. This will be interesting to see if this picture bidness will put a dent into Carmina.
Thanks, Madeleine, for keeping us going with your great recaps. I usually watch the first hour of the novela when I am home for lunch and I try not to peek at the rest of the recap when I go back to work but sometimes I can't resist.
I love watching this novela with its interesting complicated characters and I love reading your recaps.
I think Max does feel something for Nina besides lust and greed. He was definitely subdued when Carmina was boasting about what she did to Nina. I don't think he is capable of really disinterested love but he is not as cruel as Carmina (who is?).
Now I can't get Carmina's ring-tone song out of my head.
I think Nina likes the game as much as Carmina does. If Nina wrote Tifon a straight forward letter and gave it to him (yes, with the pictures of Carmina and Max), don’t you think he would take it seriously? If she gave Tifon a letter like this, it would all be over for Carmina:
“Dear Sr. Tifon- First I want to apologize for the false way I entered your home, but I did it to right a great wrong done to me and my beloved father by Carmina and Max. I am really Rita, although you know me as Nina, the cook. When I was little, Carmina married my father, stole his money with the help of her lover Max, and then ordered her lover Max to dump me in el tiradero after my father died. I believe that they instigated my father’s death, and I do not blame you for being unfortunate enough to be driving when I father ran out to the road, upset from learning the truth about Carmina. I came to your home to unmask Carmina and Max, but I quickly learned to love you all too-- especially Jorgito who turned out to be my first love from el Tiradero, and Agatha, who I believed to be my sister. Both Agatha and Jogito are in fact the children of Carmina’s long-term lover and accomplice, Max. Not only have they lied and manipulated their way into your home and family, but they have continued their affair all these years, as you can see in these pictures. They have also been stealing money from you and your family. I do not want the same thing to happen to you as happened to my father. Nor do I want to see you all hurt. But I must tell you the truth so that you and I can continue our lives, free of Carmina and Max. If you confront Mama Lucinda with any of these truths, she will be unable to deny it, and these pictures do not lie. Protect yourself and your family! Get them, including Agatha and Jorgito, away from Carmina and Max as soon as possible.”
Another extremely entertaining episode, especially at the end.
Camelia wakes up, having been hit by a car, in a bed in the church. She's woozy, sees some paintings of hell.
Tomasa, the hookers' madam, tries to get her brothel re-established. First she tries Arnulfo, but he just wants HER. So she goes to Benigno, the new mayor, and after she gives him some "samples" (he actually has a little performance problem), he does agree to be her partner, and she can re-open her house.
Alacran ties up Xiang and takes him back to Don Antonio. Tony says Xiang is a traitor, and despite Lu's pleas, he's going to execute Xiang, to send a message to all his employees. A firing squad is set up, and at the last minute, Lu jumps in front of Xiang.
Despite their lack of money, Allison, Emi and Aaron all go to LA for the body of Emilio. The kid finds out the truth, and takes it more grown up than his Mom thought he would. They still aren't sure how they'll get the body back to Tijuana and pay for a burial (Ali's Mom says just throw him in a common grave!). And the paper work here in LA is going to take another 2 weeks. Carson tells Allison they suspect Camelia killed Emilio, and Allison vows revenge. Carson wants her to trust the law to do it.
Camelia is very sore, but I don't think she has any permanent injuries. She lies and tells the Padre her name is Jasmine. Chava is nice to her. Carson visits the Padre, says they're looking for Camelia, gives him a poster with a $1,000 reward. The Padre recognizes "Jasmine", but denies having seen her.
After Carson leaves, with Cami asleep, Padre looks in her bag and sees the money. He takes it and hides it in a statute of the Virgin Mary, substituting books. Cami wakes up, tormented by her dreams. Padre convinces her to confess, which she sort of does. He tells her she'll only have peace if she turns herself in.
She tells Chava she will. He's opposed. He still has her gun, but he goes with her to the police station. But in the station, she sees Allison! (there because of the body). Allison also glimpses her, as does Carson. Cami looks in her satchel, sees the books, and is angered. She runs out, grabs Chava, gets the gun from him, and escapes the cops. She thinks he stole her money, but he convinces her he didn't.
She enters the church, points her gun at the Padre, yelling give me back my money! He lies, says he doesn't have it, but glances nervously at Mary's statue. Cami's no dummy, smashes the statue, and the money falls out onto the floor. She grabs it up, chastizes the Padre for HIS sins, tells him if he tells the cops anything, he's a dead man, and tells us all, not to underestimate Camelia, La Texana!!
Let's see if I can remember what happened yesterday.
Mondriana faints when she is confronted by Diego in the bar. Later, Diego seems to convince Valeria that he is not working for Carlos Ricalde. Maite and Valeria meet Mondriana at Selma's place and they either bring Diego or he follows them.
News of the murder of Monica's lawyer gets around. We find out that Gerardo kept the lawyer's wallet and stuff. Doubtless, this will end up incrmininating someone.
Marta tells Gabriel that she believes him about what happened with Elena.
Ricardo insists on telling Camila personally about the lawyer's death.
Then Ricardo goes to see the pervy judge to tell him that the lawyer's murder happening right after Monica's death is too much of a coincidence. Natch, the judge blows off his suspicions.
Ricardo sees Elena come to visit the judge. The judge tells Elena that the lawyer had another copy of the will that had to be filed in some office. He also tells her that he can sign an order that will get all of the lawyer's files brought to him.
The judge demands 30 percent of her and Gerardo's inheritance from Monica or he will sabotage her and Gerardo's plan to get Monica's fortune. He also warrns her against trying to kill him. If that happens, her plan will be revealed. Elena replies that she has to discuss this with Gerardo.
[Needless to say, none of what the judge said corresponds to American law. There is no official repository of wills for people before they die, a judge might sign a search warrant but US judges don’t do their own investigations. The prosecutor’s office would naturally have access to all of a murder victim’s files and papers.]
We hear the sad story of Jennifer’s life. She and Gabriel get closer.
That’s about all that I can remember.
I love your letter, Vivi. It would probably do the trick since Tifon left Carmina when he only found out that she had lied about being Jorgito's biological mother. It's hard to imagine that Carmina could weasel out of a letter like that.
I could say that Nina has to learn that there are consequences to seeking vengeance but she has already had ample opportunity to learn that.
But really, I guess we just need to have more of the novela. I'm ok with that. ;-)
thanks SO much Hombre,
loved it when Camelia finally took down that painting of hell, and turned it around.
now that Emilio is (really) dead, (7 bullets, a crime of passion), I'm thinking little emilio (who is not impressed with how his mom hanging out with Aaron, who's not the guy his brother was) is going to step up, he doesn't have the charm of his father, and I'm wondering if he will ever meet Alma, if she is still around.
and does Camelia still have the baseball card?
it's like this whole show was setting up that moment when Camelia gives herself up, when in the police station she sees Alison and emilio, and that her money is gone, wow, what a moment.
I keep thinking the money really belongs to Mireya, but other than that, being american, does Camelia have any reason to go back.
I can't remember where I heard/read it, but did someone say, Camelia was not a bad woman, just a woman treated badly.
thanks so much Jean!
it's interesting how they have managed to keep Diego and Monica apart, but what a very difficult thing it must be for Monica to explain to Diego that she is not Adriana, and will he ever get that.
loved the way Maite was always jumping between them, of course Maite and Valeria think she's nuts, but love her anyway.
Geraldo is an interesting character in that he could be the evil guy that 'saves the day', not so unlike his character in "La Patrona" where he was the good guy that never got around to it.
Part I
Oi, Oi, Oi, the revenge has begun. We left Nina and Car with the pics on the wall. Car is so not having it! Nina says Car will do as she says cause well, she's got tons of copies of these pics and has a way of getting them to Tifon. Nina screams at Car that she called Genesio, stupid, an alcoholic and hit him on the head, this is payback for him. Nina feels she will be a great Patrona for Car. Car asks what Nina really wants, money, what???? Nina says she looks stressed have an aperitif. You can tell Car wants to kill Nina.
Mama L calls Nina, no answer. Max has come by to see Mama L and there is more revelations. He wants to talk about Nina/Rita. He wants to know what has happened to her. He isn't leaving until he gets some good news. Mama L tells him Nina is fine and to forget about her. He wants to know everything about Nina that Mama L knows.
Jorgito is still in his funk. Still thinking about his past with Rita. He is very confused. Tifon tells him to trust him and he loves him.
Nina brings a dry martini to Car, and she drops it on the ground. Nina makes another in front of her and tells her no worries, it isn't poisoned with rat poison. She asks Car how many lives has she ruined besides her Papa, Agatha, who she treats with contempt, Jorgito, Nina and poor clueless Tifon? So it's on the the dinner that Car is going to serve. See Car is the new servant and Nina is La Patrona. Car is pithed and tells Nina she is in her home, her table, and puts a knife to Nina's throat. Nina reminds her how those pics will show up, and can she just imagine the reaction of Tifon and Muricy? So Car ends up serving as Nina humiliates her. She wants the kitchen spotless, as Carmina did to her. Oh, and she tells Car to call her Senora.
Mama L serves Max some food and they have a chat. They talk about his past at Tiradero. He had a dog evidently when he was a kid. Mama L remembers Max very well and what a scared little kid he was. He says he didn't know how to live with out being afraid and Mama L says he was a nice boy. He admits he is in love with Nina/Rita and wants to start a new life. Mama L tells him Nina is not for him. Nilo comes asking after Rita. He eats too.
Lucio is with his Mama worried sick the cops will be there any minute for him. Jan admits the lie she told him. Wants him to stay away from that house, especially after the Max incident, and Lucio thinks that maybe Nina has Car. Jan warns him not to leave the house.
Nina treats Car exactly as she treated Nina. Wash your hands, clean the kitchen till it sparkles, Nina now makes the rules and Car must obey. Get cracking.
Nina rings the serving bell like crazy and Car has to serve her. Car also has to stand like Nina did when serving until dismissed. Car kind of tosses the tray on the table and Nina tells her she better have some patience or those pics will go up in the town square. She dresses Car down for her sloppy looking clothes and she eats as Car looks like she will pull her own hair out.
Nilo, Max and Mama L are having a chat thinking about the past. Nilo already knows that Max is in love with Nina/Rita. Max and Nilo get into it and Mama L makes Nilo leave. Nilo sneaks into Max's back seat. Mama L and Max continue to chat. Mama L thinks Max isn't a bad sort, just get away from Car and start a new life. Max asks how you can be happy without being afraid? Confront your demons she says. Max goes and tells Mama L goodbye.
Thanks Novelera. I was trying to decide whether to stick with this one or move on to Lado a Lado on MundoFox. I don't want to stick if it's going to be 190 eps like Lo Que Vida Me Robo (which I'm barely watching now).
I find the story a bit slow. I like Maria Elena. I think she's doing a fab job as Monica, but I prefer her as Adriana. I like Emelia and really like Selma and Rodrigo, but that's about it. Maybe I just need to take a TN break for awhile. Definitely going to watch Silvia Navarro's new one when it starts--hopefully this year.
Nanette
Part II
The humiliation continues. Nina is now drinking wine and making Car clean the floor where there is stuff spilled all over. Car's cell goes off. Nina has taken Car's phone. Tells Car since she took Nina's, Nina has taken hers. It's Tifon. She tells Car to act cheerful and as if nothing is wrong. Tifon was worried when Car didn't answer the phone and how are things with her and Nina. Couldn't be better. The family sure misses Nina and her cooking, cause Muricy's cooking sucks, besos, click! Now Nina takes the phone back and tells Car that employees can't answer the phone on the clock. Car says Jan and ZeZe will be coming back soon. Nina tells her to get cracking then and pours wine all over the floor. Car cleans and cries.
Max gets back to the cabin and Nilo has snuck in. Max sees him and Nilo says that mansion is so nice and this place is crapola. Now Max will be Rita's gigolo. Max throws him out.
Car is still cleaning when Max calls. Nina makes Car put the phone on speaker, and listens in. Car says she's tired and that's why she didn't answer the phone. She'll talk to him tomorrow, click! Max now thinks something is up.
Muricy and Leleco in the kitchen at the beach and soon they are starting to get that ole feeling, when they go to the pantry to do the deed and Tifon catches them kissing. He just knew it! He tells them to get a room, nah, but to tell their lovas they are an item. They go off.
Nina is on the sofa, acting just like Car when Max comes in and sees Nina and Car is on her knees cleaning and wants to know what the hell is going on?
Nina says now here is Car's lova. Car is really thinking that Max has come to her rescue, WRONG!!!! He's shocked by what he sees and Nina shows him the photos, what is this blackmail? Nina says he has a choice, either continue with her or go with Car. Tifon and Ivana will find out who you really are. Nina informs him what she knows. Max wants Nina to leave Car alone, and he thinks Nina has gone to crazy town. Nina wants wine and as Car goes off to get it, Nina tells Max she will visit him at the cabin manana to explain. She toasts with Max and she tells him thanks for the visit and he goes. Now it's time for beddy bye and Nina is taking Car's bed and Car can have Nina's.
Jorgito and Tifon have another chat and Tifon tells him about his grandparents and the pantry. They get a good laugh and Jorgito calls Debora at her party. She is glad he called to wish her happy b-day, and tells her his memory is coming back. She's glad he called and click. Tifon thinks Debora is a good friend to Jorgito. At the party Mona Lisa and Iran are eating and Mona Lisa thinks the party is sooo dull compared to Divino, she even tells Veronica this as Iran is trying to shush her.
Nina takes Car to her room, remarks on the smallness of it, but Car never cared how small, or closet like the place was, it's only for a servant after all. She even takes Car to the bathroom and tells her the water is never hot enough, the mattress is lumpy and Car is staying there. Nina even tossed the mattress. Nina locks Car in the bedroom and remarks that Car did this to Rita when she was a kid and Genesio wasn't home.
Thanks so much, Jean, for the "extra edition".
OK, something bothers me. Mondriana keeps acting like she never heard of Adriana Aguilar. She has seen the photo that was in the safe, taken of she and Mónica in the limousine. She knows that's the face she sees in the mirror every day. I also bet Carlos called her Adriana while she was in the San Diego bordello. So why the blank stare when Diego says Adriana?
I know he's 100% scumbag, but I LOVE it when Figueroa outsmarts Elena and we see her furious, thwarted face. Last night he also said that he has "people" who could fake evidence that Elena's video of him abusing the prostitute was manipulated, thus removing their weapon against him.
That was one huge Subway product placement last night, when Gabriel had his "date" with Jennifer. Up to and including her proclaiming how delicious her salad was.
I'm not so interested in the romances of Marta's boys. I can hardly stand Camila, and she and Ricardo deserve each other. The other boy, Gabriel, has a more winning personality. But Jennifer and her handkerchief headband and barrio attitude just bores me.
Part III
The next morning Nina decked in Car's sleepwear wakes Car up and wants breakfast in bed. Car goes in the kitchen and fouls all the food, spits in the coffee, and ruins the eggs. She brings up the breakfast, just as Nina used to do and Nina is all like Car was with the mask. Nina doesn't touch anything, cause she saw what Car did as she was preparing it and tosses it on the floor. Car has to clean that. Next it's on to the closet. Where Nina pulls clothes out and finds a nice Parisian shirt with ruffle sleeves. She makes Car cut them off. Tifon bought this blouse for Car in Paris. Car also has to put her robe on Nina. Nina is treating her as she treated Nina with barely veiled contempt. Nina now dresses in Car's clothes, has Car put her shoes on Nina. Nina next asks about Car's Mama what happened to her? She died. Well what kind of Mama was she that she dropped Car off in the Tiradero. This is a sore spot for Car who tells La Senora (she has to keep calling Nina this) she won't talk about her and actually really cries. Tifon calls again, Car gets to answer and must be cheerful, but Tifon is hearing some anxiety in Car's voice and says he and the family are coming home soon. Nina instructs Car to listen. Clean the bedspread, Car has to scrub the toilet too. After all that, is when Car puts the shoes on Nina. Even though they have vulgar Car on them, she still likes them. She makes Car hand over her purse to her and she is going out. Tells Car don't even try to escape, not happening.
Nina goes to see Max. He asks her about those pics and why is she dressed like Car. Nina is finally free of Car she says. She wants Max to trust her. He wants her to stop whatever she is doing. She gives him 10 mil. He can't believe it and wants to know where this money is coming from, her inheritance. She says no never mind about that, when has Car ever given you the kind of money I do. She wants Max to trust in her strategy. Max asks her not to use violence on Car. Max gets a call from the mansion. He doesn't answer.
Santiago has come to Tiradero to visit Mama L but she's out. Nilo however is confronting him. They can't stand each other. Nilo blames Santiago for something that happened in the past, they dont' discuss it. Nilo calls Santiago a "playboy". Nilo tells him Mama L went to Divino and it's something about Car. Nilo tries to get physical with Santiago, but the kids come to protect him and Santiago protects them by telling them to come into Mama L's abode.
Suelen and Roni are getting ready for the visit from the Padre. They discuss Dolores and Suelen tells him like it or not that is your Mama. They also discuss the wedding. She wants the white wedding, the flowers, etc. She has always dreamed of this type of wedding. He can't believe it, he isn't wanting that, but, but, she believes in death do us part, He doesn't. The Padre comes and she tells Roni to tell that to the Padre to his face.
Car is serving juice to Nina poolside and it's dreck cause Car probably did something to it. Nina spits it out and there comes Mama L, yelling through the fence at Nina. What will happen next!!!!!! Oi, Oi, Oi!!!!!
One more thing. If I were Camila, I would run as fast as I could from Ernesto. The guy is so unbelievably phony and over the top with the way he behaves toward her. I can't stand that toothy grin emerging from the stubble on his face. I know, novelera, Tranquiqui.
Jean:
Max is one interesting character isn't he? In the beginning I really thought that Max was as bad as Carmina, but he really isn't. It seems he goes along with Carmina's schemes until she hurts someone. Carmina's ring tone is catchy isn't it?
Vivi:
I loved the letter! If only Nina/Rita had done that. It explains everything and I think Tifon would have cut her a break. As it stands now, I don't know how he would react. You were right about this sick one-upmanship between the two of them. I so don't want Nina to end up being like Carmina.
HatianMama:
More shock and awe????? Wow! Thanks for the heads up and I can't wait to find out what they are!
Now to my own thoughts. Ayi, yi, yi, Thursdays' epi was very dark. I didn't like that Nina has become Carmina, but I can see why she did it. She wants to drive home to Carmina how she has treated everyone in the house, and especially Nina. I really feel that she shouldn't have dressed and acted like Carmina to drive the point home. This just provokes Carmina even more.
I was very surprised that Max didn't help Carmina. Carmina, I think, was even more shocked than I was. Her right hand man, her lova, just going out the door. I actually think that Max does love Rita/Nina and never wanted her to be anything like Carmina. Since I missed a week and a half of this TN in the beginning, who hit Genesio in the head, before he was accidently hit by Tifon?
Suelen really believes in marriage, who knew??? That nice closeness of her and Roni when they talked about it was so sweet. I really think he is into her, and I liked how she told him to tell that to the Padre, about not believing in until death do us part.
So Carlitos couldn't be faithful. He tried so hard for Alexia, and I am disappointed in him for doing what he did with Noemia and Veronica. Those penalties that Alexia imposed don't apply unless/until she marries Carlitos.
Diego has followed Maite and Valeria to Selma’s apartment. Mondriana agrees to speak with him alone. He tells her what happened to her, her brother and him in Mexico and then makes an impassioned plea for their love. Mondriana tells him that she is not the woman that she was and asks him to forget her. Mondriana asks Diego to leave. They are both crying. He swears that he won’t give up. He will go to hell and back to get back what they had together. Finally, he leaves. Maite and Valeria come back in the room. Mondriana confirms that Diego is not working for Carlos Ricalde. She can’t explain what is going on and leaves.
Ricardo watches Elena leave the office building where the pervy judge has his office. Elena goes to Gerardo’s office but he isn’t there. He’s sneakin’ ‘round the bushes looking in Mondriana’s windows again hoping for another underwear modeling session. Lorena sees him.
Camila is with Ernesto. He gets a call from Elena asking where Gerardo is and saying that they have to meet. Before he leaves, Ernesto convinces Camila to go out to dinner with him.
Maite and Valeria try to figure what is going on with Mondriana but naturally they can’t make any sense of it. Valeria points out that when a person loses their memory, they don’t change their personality. Valeria is sure that Diego is a good guy so they can stay at Doña Lupe’s place.
Lorena asks Gerardo why he was hanging around the guest house looking through the windows. Gerardo claims that he was just making sure that Emiliana was doing ok. Then he gets a call from Ernesto and leaves.
Ricardo goes to the Serrano hacienda and talks to his mother. He tells her about his suspicions of the judge and the whole will business. She tells him that she now believes Gabriel’s version of what happened with Elena. Marta is not sure that she wants to keep on working at a house with someone like Elena. Ricardo wants to see Camila but fortunately Marta talks him out of it since he undoubtedly would have acted like an idiot and made things worse.
Mondriana is walking down a street crying and remembering Adriana talking about Diego in the 5 minutes they spent together (she was a fast talker). Diego is on a deserted [in LA? How does he get around?] beach crying and remembering how Adriana accepted his marriage proposal and vowed her love, etc.
Mondriana almost faints in front of a piano store. The proprietor asks her to come inside and have a drink of water. She does and ends up playing the piano with such passion that the proprietor of the store says it reminds him of how Mónica Serrano played. Mondriana almost replies that she is Mónica Serrano but ends up saying that she tries to play like MS did.
Gerardo, Elena and Ernesto meet to try and figure out what to do about the pervy judge’s ultimatum. Gerardo says that they have to agree to his demand to get time and then kill him in some as yet to be specified way that won’t result in the judge fingering them as the killer of the lawyer. [An obvious way to do that would be to plant the lawyer’s wallet, etc. on someone else and get that person accused of the murder. They’d better not do it to Ricardo because if we have to see the Little Prince go to prison and deal with all the stuff that innocents have to go through in prison, I may bail on this novella.]
Selma and Esteban (whose shirt looks like it only needs a triangular communicator to fit in at a Trekkie convention) are back home. Mondriana shows up and she is very upset. She says that not only has she stolen a woman’s life she has destroyed a man’s life, too.
Mondriana has been MIA all day. Emiliana is bored. She finds Camila writing in her diary. [Camila needs something to do – she should go back to school in the US or work in the winery or do good works or something.]
Camila goes to see Marta and tells her that she misses Ricardo.
Gerardo comes home and finds Emiliana all upset because Mondriana hasn’t been around all day.
Lorena tells Elena that she thinks Gerardo is interested in Mondriana.
Mondriana tells Selma and Esteban that she understands how Diego feels. She feels the same way about Gerardo. She isn’t going to stay in this body anymore.
Well, now we know why Nina didn't send the letter Vivi wrote to Carmina. She wants to give back to Carmina a little of what she and the other servants have suffered. No one deserves that more than Carmina but I didn't get much pleasure watching Carmina be humiliated.
It will be interesting to see what Nina does when the family comes back from the beach house.
It was so cute when Adauto and Tessalia were complaining about Leleco and Muricy snoring and not liking spicy food, etc. Maybe those two can get together if, as seems obvious, Muricy and Leleco reunite.
Excellent recap, Jean! I thought David Chocarro hit it out of the park with his impassioned description of his and Adriana's relationship and his eternal love for her. I guess I can sort of see Mondriana's difficulty, although it was frustrating to see her NOT tell him she's really Mónica Serrano. If she tells anyone about the body transfer besides Selma and Esteban, she looks completely crazy.
I was glad Maite and Valeria were shown overhearing what Diego had to say. It could be the actress, but I thought it was really odd the way Maite went from drooling over Diego to extremely over-caffeinated railing about his being a murderer.
I hope we'll be spared Elena finding out Mondriana was AWOL all day. I guess Vanessa Villela is doing a good job, but I HATE those scenes where she castigates poor Mondriana, who just wimps out over and over. I want her to start standing up for herself, and soon!
ITA about Camila. She spends all her time in a world class sulk and does absolutely nothing. She flaunts her vineyard knowledge for Ernesto, but doesn't DO anything.
Tonight should be interesting. Mondriana says she's going to leave the body. I think she thinks she can will herself to really die so Adriana returns to the body. I suspect either she won't be able to do so or she'll finally get a clue about the danger to her children.
Sue in Miami
Part I
We left Nina in the pool yesterday with Mama Lucinda at the gate. Nina lets her into the house. Car isn't liking it. Mama L sees the lay of the land and what is going on and isn't a bit pleased. She doesn't like that Nina is like Carmina now, and what would Tifon and familia think? Nina says not the same as Car she hasn't killed anyone. Mama L wants them to sit down and talk this out, Nina and Car that is, Nina isn't having it.
Tifon and Ivana chat and he tells her about catching their parents in the pantry and swears her to secrecy.
Meanwhile Muricy and Aduato are in their room and Muricy isn't in the mood, I wonder why???? Anyhoo, it too close quarters she says and he starts baying like a dog. Tessa and Leleco and it's the same thing and they hate the baying dog sound.
Nilo has also come to the mansion and thinks it's a hoot that Car is the servant. Car is serving Nina and Mama L is lecturing Nina on how she has now become a monster and has turned violent. Nilo sits down and makes Car serve him. Half of it gets thrown in his face. Now there is an argument amongst Nilo and Mama L and Car and Nina puts a stop to it. Mama L goes, Nilo too and Nina reminds Car that they are alone. Nina goes up to bed and Car calls her La Senora Madame!
Mama L and Nilo have a chat on the street. Nilo likes how Nina has done this and Mama L is less than pleased. Mama L wants Nilo to leave her alone, he tells her Santiago is at Tiradero waiting for her.
Nina goes and wakes up Car. She tells Car to serve breakfast. Car does but Nina finds a hair. Time to take care of that. While Car protests and cries Nina cuts and dyes her hair. It is now red. Nina makes her look in the mirror and Car is horrified and Nina says she looks much better! Car asks if Nina wants to kill her? No, not that but torture is better so she suffers. Car has had enough and wants to rest. Nina tells her okay but not for long. Nina still has a hunk of her blonde hair. Max calls and asks Nina how long this game is going to go on. She needs Max to help her out by telling Car he is in jail.
Santiago and Mama L talk and she tells him what she saw in the mansion and he tells her to let Nina be. Nina needs this closure but Mama L believes this will turn into a tragedy.
Nina is talking to Car and asks her how much time she gave them off. They will be back soon. Nina is going out to meet Max and no touching the pics and no escaping. Nina doesn't really go but watches Car who calls Max and he says he is at the jail with a lawyer, he got in some minor trouble with a guy. Car thinks that Max is also a target of Nina's. Click. Nina admits she has a cop friend that set that up. Now it's onto more of Car torture. She must now wear Nina's uniform, and Nina wants her to feel as the servants do, about how Car uses Tifon's money for all the little things like expensive shoes, while her staff is paid crap. Car says she is exhausted and needs rest. Just how Nina felt. Nina gives her hell about leaving her at Tiradero. Nina finally lets Car rest in her servant room and locks the door. Car screams not to leave her in there, she's claustrophobic.
Part II
Max has come by and wants to see Car. She's sleeping Nina says in the servant's quarters. Max is shocked, Nina fixes him a drink, they toast to his new partnership with Nina, she wants him to trust in her.
ZeZe is at the gate, next day and Nina talks to her and tells her to go home. ZeZe has a key and comes in and sees Car cleaning, the new haircut and color is shocked and gets some bad mojo. Car assures her things are fine, nothing unusual, ZeZe thinks she will lose her job, but nopis, not happening. She'll still work there, no worries, go home. Car plays it off as Nina getting more responsibility. ZeZe tells Car if she needs her to call and she goes home. Car thinks that ZeZe is loyal to her. Nina tells her no, just needs her job.
ZeZe goes to see Jan and tells her what she saw. Jan thinks Car may have gone round the bend and Lucio listens. Jan tells ZeZe to just let it be. ZeZe wants to call Tifon but Jan tells her no. Relax and go home. ZeZe does. Jan yells at Lucio she's going out, Lucio does to, straight to Car's he also has a key. Lucio goes in the door sees what is happening and grabs Nina and shakes her, Car is laughing it up until Jan shows up and tells Lucio to go and unhand Nina. Lucio goes and now it's deal time. Car is turning over a new leaf, according to Nina, she will treat her people better and Jan even gets more money, less grueling hours and time off on Sundays. Wow! Jan liking that. Jan and Nina also have a talk alone and Jan is worried. Nina assures Jan that Car is repenting and Nina is helping her out and that's why she's there. They have a hug, they are friends and Jan goes.
Nilo brings champagne to Mama L's. He's all happy, he has a good place to live and Nina is so great. Mama L warns him that now that her secret is out she has no more need for Nilo. Nilo says Nina is bad like them. Mama L says Nina was formed by what happened to her. Well Nilo thinks that's his problem too. Nilo is mad at Mama L for talking to Santiago, she makes him go.
Noemia and Veronica are visiting when Noemia gets a text, it's from Carlitos of course, but Ver doesn't know that. Not until Noemia is leaving. She tells Ver that she is meeting Maria Pia at Club Nautica. Ver knows better and follows and sees Noemia and Carlitos kissing all over. She calls Alexia for a meet.
Suelen is humming the wedding march and carrying a trophy like the bridal bouquet. Roni can't believe she is so into it. He thinks she's nuts, no just extremely happy, and now she is going to Mona Lisa's salon to have her hair done.
Silas wants Olenka to come to the wedding with him. She's unsure cause of Mona Lisa. He convinces her to go.
Mona Lisa does Suelen's hair and is happy that she will now be Dolores' problem.
Car and Nina in the kitchen and she is showing, but making Car do the actual cooking, the secret ingredient to her risotto, which is white wine and Gran Padano cheese. Car actually makes it well and Nina makes her have a taste, it's wonderful. Well it's all for Nina cause Car is gonna eat what the servants usually get. It's salchica. It looked like sausage and spaghetti mixed with other stuff. Nina is driving the point home that she treats the servants to this all the time when the servants could eat a lot better than this. Car tries to eat it but is not enjoying it. Nina eats the risotto and tells Car she did a great job.
Romy
Part III
Veronica goes and tells Alexia what she saw. Leaving out the fact that she also has cheated with Carlitos. Alexia is upset and thanks Veronica for telling her and she can rely on Veronica.
Family is eating and it's chaos. Jorgito says something nice about the grandparents everyone likes.
Nina is watching TV and Car tells her about Roni's wedding, she needs to go, Tifon will ask about it. Nina tells her no way in hell. Car will be busy cleaning. Nina goes upstairs and Car slugs some wine and wants this to be over.
Carlitos brings flowers to Veronica who tosses them back at him and tells him what she saw and who she told. He tries to play it off but Veronica isn't buying it. Ver warns him he'll lose all three women. He decides to stay at Ver's, but in the servant's quarters, not in her bed Ver tells him.
Family in sala at the beach house. They are all going out, but not Muricy, she isn't up for it and Leleco also begs off. Guess what they do???? Anyone???? Yeah, twice they do the deed. Why don't these two just get back together already????
Car is still cleaning and Nina wants a good job. Nina now wants her to draw her a bath, and goes upstairs. Car draws her a bubble bath and Nina gets in and also adds bath salts as she did in Argentina. Car scrubs her shoulders and massages them and then holds Nina's head under water. Nina stops moving and Car is about to go when Nina gets up and calls her a killer. Car locks Nina in the bathroom and takes off. Nina is frantic. She takes the bench in there and knocks the door down. Car is out in the street and gets in a taxi and tells the guy she wants to go to Cabo Frio. He won't take her. She calls from payphone, no answer. She starts walking.
It's the wedding of Roni and Suelen, and everyone is there, even Leandro that has put aside his feelings to attend. Mona Lisa sees Silas and Olenka together and isn't happy. All of a sudden Car comes in looking really horrid in the same clothes she's been in since that night at the club. Everyone points and looks at her. Her different hair her condition, and she goes for Diogenes. She begs him to help her. Diogenes thinks she's gone round the bend. Oi, Oi, Oi, what is gonna happen on Monday??????
At least no one died in last night's episode, for a change! In fact, someone "came back to life". Facundo digs up Alma's grave, so he can bring evidence back to Arnulfo. But after hours of digging, the coffin is empty! And standing right there is little Alma. She tells him about another grave (I think one of the hookers who died), and Facundo gets a finger from that girl, delivers it to Arnie, who makes it into a little amulet, to protect him from harm!
Allison and Aaron want to get Emilio's body back to Tijuana for burial, but it's so expensive, and so much paperwork, they decide to snatch it. They succeed until Carson sees them closing the van door. He'll let them go, but tells them the cops are not all bad, and maybe they'll help him in the future.
Benigno gets the new brothel all fitted out, but Arnulfo won't let Tomasa run it - he wants her with him at his ranch. So who's going to run the brothel?
Camelia goes with Chava to a field where she can work picking vegetables. She meets a girl named Pati who has lowered herself to sex with the abusive overseer Bernardo (who used to be a friend of Chava and working to help people, but has gotten corrupted by power). Camelia at first refuses Bernardo's "medical exam", later agrees, but gets his pants off, blindfolds him, kicks him, throws him outside, humiliating him. There could be payback for this. Cami also buries her money beside a tree.
Antonio spares Xiang's life at the last minute, and now Lu has dropped her former coldness, is trying to win him back. She knows not to push him too far. He's going to go along with the surfboard smuggling, but he'll let La Nacha know about it, not go behind her back.
Aaron and Emilio had promised each other if either one died, the survivor would sort of take his place, so Aaron wants to do this with Allison, but she doesn't.
The fun continues!
wow, I was so lost in all of those conversations last night,
thank you so much Hombre!
(but it looks like the captions may be back)
so, and I'm guessing on this, but on the way home did Alison stop at the place where long ago crossing the border, Emilio had collapsed and she saved his life, maybe the same place where he later brought her, and with some champagne, charmed her pants off (this guy is so slick, and she wasn't even wearing pants) and maybe where little emilio was conceived?
I also forgot to say that Carson pressured the Padre, who did reveal where Chava can be found (and by extension, Camelia).
And when Benigno and the others see Alma's empty grave, they think it's a miracle! But of course Antonio knows the truth and must be hiding the girl?
Sue- ITA. I understand Nina wanting Carmina to have a big dose of her own bitter medicine. But she must know that Carmina is truly evil and not above murder, and she's giving her plenty of motive and opportunity to do it!
Sue in Miami:
Carmina did hold a knife to Nina's neck, until Nina reminded her about the pics finding their way to Tifon another way. She put the knife down.
Vivi:
I agree completely that Carmina is capable of murder, she tried this on Friday's epi. I won't say anymore just in case you haven't watched it. I too understand why Nina is doing what she is, but I think she went a bit overboard. Carmina isn't going to change, no matter what Nina tries to teach her.
Jean:
I too like the idea of Tessa and Aduato. He can actually cook too. The family actually likes stuff he makes. I agree with you too about Vivi's letter and why it wasn't sent.
Romy:
I will call you Romy for sure and you can call me Mads. It is easier than Madelaine : ) I am so curious to see how these characters intertwine. I already see the Mama L, Santiago, Nilo connection, I really think Santiago and Nilo were rivals for Mama L's affection. Nilo raised Max who was a scared little boy. Carmina was raised by Mama L, but something tragic happened there. These characters are so interesting to me, with all their faults and some have really good intentions. I love the comedy bits with Carlitos, and Suelen. I too use no captions. I just listen and jot down what I hear. I miss some stuff too, but the commenters especially Sue 455 help me out there.
Now to my own thoughts. I don't think Nina went about this in the right way. You can tell by Carmina's actions, Nina's little "lesson" didn't work. For Carmina its her way or the highway and I knew she would pull something to run free. But that being said, Nina may be crazy like a fox. In other words maybe she wanted to make it seem as if Carmina had gone round the bend, as in loca! She sure looked loca when ZeZe and Jan came by. Lucio has Nina's number and didn't buy it. The look on Diogenes face when Carmina showed up at the wedding said it all. He thinks she is loca too, I think. I too wonder what is gonna happen when Tifon and the familia come back from vacay and who they will believe, Nina or Carmina? Oi, Oi, Oi!
Line o'the day
Nina has just uttered a famous quote to Carmina who doesn't recognize it:
"Well you took Tifón's money and what did you do with it? You bought shoes! Didn't bother to educate yourself. You bought shoes...and really ugly shoes at that!"
More later about how I also feel that Nina has gone overboard with the revenge. It was kind of humorous at first but it has become cringeworthy.
Romy
funeral for Emilio,
Alison publicly vows to avenge Emilio's death, as Aaron moves her off and comforts her, but the mood becomes even quieter when el Alacran shows up, and of course he has to open the coffin to make sure it's Emilio, (we could have used this guy in Santa Diabla)
the farm,
Camelia's humiliation of the foreman (Bernardo) isn't paying any dividends, Patti, who seems to love Chava, is kicked out of her little house and must now live in the barracks. then no one can eat until Camelia does and her food is on the ground, she walks away, (but later returns with take out for everyone from a local fast food place), then Camelia's harvest is dumped on the ground, but she notices the foreman is skimming and later outs him to the Jefe, and now that her work here is done, she plans to move on, to Chava's disappointment.
Arulfo's
with no cell phones, Moi is forced to use the farm phone along with everyone else, but being the big guy, he orders everyone out of hearing range before he takes the call from Carson, he tells of acquiring all of the info on the drug routes (but I guess this has to be actually delivered) and upon hearing of Camelia wants to rush off to find her (keeping his promise to her mother) but Carson gets him back into focus, on what he is doing now.
Alison's
el Alacran shows up looking for Camelia, Alison wants to find her too and joins in, and Aaron has his "this is not a good idea" look.
Aaron and emilio jr. go through Emilio's stuff, and Aaron starts reminiscing about the old days, starting in Tijuana, 1960. I didn't really get all of this but it came down to Emilio's plan to rob the safe where his dad worked (was it the post office) anyway Aaron backs out, so he goes alone, only to find that his dad is on duty that day, he leaves with nothing, but his dad who recognized him behind his mask, hangs himself in shame, (and why is Aaron telling little emilio this)
el Alacran and Alison barge in on Mireya's motel room, Mireya isn't being very cooperative so Alison has a sit down chat with her as Alacran goes to make a call to Antonio, it gets physical as Alison has her in a choke hold, but the returned Alacran knocks Alison down and holds her at gunpoint as he takes Mireya home, bosses orders, stopping along the way for a bathroom break in the bushes, Alacran turns his head to give Mireya some privacy, as she sneaks off, (this girl has some spunk) and gets away. Alacran is foiled once again.
Antonio, coldly leaving an ice cold Lu out of the business, has gone to los Osunas ranch to smooth things with La Nacha, bringing her a cut of the profits, who along with her gunman brings her righthand man Moi, who gets to stay for the business, (they all seem to have planes with landing strips and does she introduce the idea of moving Colombian cocaine) later at the dinner celebration La Nacha toasts her good friend Arulfo (to a deadly quiet room) but then adds 'perro tisico' (need some help with that) that picks things back up, until Moi casually asks about Camelia... and all eyes are on him!
Thanks, Deb, excellent summary! I think perro tisico is a old, weathered dog, referring to Arnulfo's face.
Yes, Emilio and Aaron's Dad worked at the post office, and Emilio had told Aaron it was like a prison, he would never want to be like that, low pay, cooped up (and he wasn't).
I'm a little worried about Mireya. When she went to take a pee, Alacran was talking about life sometimes hits you like a sledgehammer. He had a wife and a kid, one day he came home, and there was blood everywhere. The wife was dead, and he never saw the kid again (or maybe the other way around). Anyway, he realizes Mireya is gone, but she ran off, and maybe right over a steep cliff! We'll see Monday.
Nina has Carmina over a barrel with those pictures but she can't leave well enough alone. At first it was kind of funny to see Carmina try to cook and clean. But Nina lost me when she cut and dyed Carmina's hair. (I wonder if Monalisa will fix it. Probably not. She'll have to wear a wig.)
This is revenge for Carmina's treatment of Genesio, stealing his money which was Rita's birthright and leaving Rita at the dump. When did it become a labor battle? True, Carmina isn't the nicest boss ever, but once Nina won Carmina's confidence, she treated her pretty well. Now she's complaining about the lumpy mattress and the shower that goes all over the floor and the spaghetti she has to eat like the other servants? The long hours? Heck Nina wasn't there a good portion of the time because she was off with Jorgito or at the dump with Lucinda or trying to get the best of Nilo. And there was the mess that put Betania and Valdo's lives in danger.
We have commented how dangerous this game of Nina's is. She could have disappeared and sent the pictures to Tifón anonymously or with a letter a la the one Vivi composed for us. She could have hidden with Begonia in Rio or nearby until the fallout passed. But that wasn't enough for our Nina. She had to watch Carmina be humiliated. And she almost paid with her life when Carmina snapped and tried to drown her in the tub.
We have now found out that Carmina used to lock Rita in her room when Genesio wasn't there. What else did she do to her? It really sounds as though Carmina is a victim of abuse: emotional, physical, and I believe sexual. Why does she blame Lucinda for everything bad that happened to her? Why does Nilo blame Santiago for everything bad that has happened to him? Why is Max afraid? Lucinda mentioned how he was a scared child. Was he abused too? Many questions and I can't wait to see the answers. OI!
Sue- Ditto. I have all the same questions you have. In fact, the back stories of Carmina, Max, Lucinda, Nilo, and Sebastian are more interesting to me than Nina's revenge right now. And certainly more interesting than that crybaby, Jorgito.
Love how much fun the family has when Carmina isn't around. Leleco and Muricy are a trip. Glad they are having fun, but they are going to hurt their young, loyal lovers.
Nilo has now alluded to Sebastian being part of the problems in the past. I really want to know what the heck happened.
Well it was a busy week for all especially Camellia. Got a little confused with Camellia's dreams and recollections after the killed Emilio. I did lilke how she handles the lacernous Cura. Then she seems to becomes a one woman immigrant/farm workers rights fighter which I thought brought up some interesting social issues that are ongoing, perhaps more acutely problematic in the 1970's. Where does she go now and a feel like Mireya is probably hiding in plain site and wonder if she will take off in the truck while Alacran is looking for her. I am so glad there are a coupple of others commenting on this novela, it is intruiging.
bmc
thanks for posting bmc,
yes, that 1/2 acre farm Camelia worked on was interesting, (Chava's name is close to Cesar Chavez), and it looks like Camila has inspired him.
(hmm, urban dictionary says that Chava is the Mexican nickname that goes with the real name Salvador)
haha, with Mireya driving off in el Alacran's truck, I can see that.
Hombre, thanks for retelling Alacran's story, those conversations out-of-the-blue to no one in particular always throw me.
I was worried earlier when Facundo showed up at Arulfo's with Alma's finger, and then Benigno showed up, having seen the empty grave, but he didn't say anything, and I guess his new brothel is just going to run itself.
"Camelia" sounds like it could be a real-life story, but it is completely fiction based on the hit classic song "Contrabando y Traición" by the legendary "Los Tigres Del Norte."
(written in 1971)
"The song became such a success that a movie was produced in 1977"
"the film version did so well at the box office that it spawned sequels like "Mataron A Camelia La Texana," "Emilio Varela Vs. Camelia La Texana" and "El Hijo De Camelia La Texana.""
"a woman by the name of Agustina Ramirez claims that Camelia was inspired by her life experiences."
(but her times are later than the song)

btw, "Camelia, la texana", the book (same author as our novela) is set to be released April 1, 2014 (what, april fool's day) on Amazon.

La Promesa, a current day novela dealing in women slave trafficking, where not even the bad guys smile, but of interest is Christian Tappan, the chump in "el Clon", later Willy in "La Reina del Sur", later the cousin to "Pablo Escobar", and now an emotionally disturbed alcoholic detective, he gets better (or more disturbing) with every novela.
current novelas in production are,
"El Señor de los Cielos", season 2
"Reina de Corazones", starring Paola Núñez, Eugenio Siller, Catherine Siachoque, and Juan Soler
maybe novelas in the works,
"Los Miserables" starring Aracely Arámbula, and maybe Elizabeth Gutiérrez, ( no sé, no sé )
"Mujer de Acero" starring Sandra Echeverría, (in a format similar to "Camelia").
"Los Dueños del Paraíso"
and for the future day novelas maybe,
"Dulce Amargo"

Sorry for the delay, I haven't been able to find the episode online until this morning. It was a good one, though, I hope you enjoy the recap.
PART 1
Mondriana wants to return the body she is using to her rightful owner, Adriana. Selma isn’t happy with the idea, she doesn’t want to lose her friend. Besides, what about her daughters?
Mondriana is sure that Gerardo and Elena will take great care of them. Esteban isn’t sure that she can just give back the body just because she wants to. Mondriana thinks about using the dije again, since it kind of worked the first time she touched it. Selma isn’t sure that Adriana’s soul is still around, maybe what happened with her was something coming from her subconscious. Esteban adds that he couldn’t gather too much information about the dije at the university, the object has a sort of an electro magnetic field of low intensity (or something… all the paranormal talk kind of escapes me) but he needs to study it some more. Selma thinks that maybe it’s not the dije that bonds the two women, but some sort of connection or energy. Also, can Mondriana leave her daughters alone again just because Diego, a stranger, is in pain?
Mondriana doesn’t think this is a fair question, she’s only trying to do the right thing; she feels like she stole Adriana’s life and future and she needs to give those back. She will, however, say a proper goodbye to her family first, leave all her affairs in order.
Diego is talking with Valeria about how confused he feels about Adriana’s sudden change. She might have lost her memory, as she says, but he still loves her and is willing to wait for her as long as it takes, because he’s sure that she will come back to him. Valeria is surprised because of the name change and the new identity that Adriana has taken, but she loves her very much, regardless. If only someone would love her as much as Diego loves Adriana… she feels like she is forever ruined for love after what the judge has done to her.
Lorena is informing Elena about catching Gerardo spy on Mondriana; she thinks the guy likes the new governess and Elena should be careful not to get hurt. Elena makes it seem like she has no worries whatsoever, because she trusts Gerardo and their commitment. What commitment, Lorena inquires, but Elena asks her to mind her own business and stop butting in, because she really doesn’t know her at all if she thinks a man could ever cheat on her; no wonder, if she abandoned her (As much as I despise Elena, each time she has a confrontation with Lorena, I’m on her side).
Then Elena kicks Lorena out of her room, but you can see how furious and suspicious her mother’s words have left her.
Emi is so worried that Mondriana isn’t back home yet, that Gerardo decides to call Selma, to see if she knows something. Selma tells him that Mondriana had phone problems and is stuck in traffic, but she’s fine and she’ll be home soon.
Emi is relieved, Gerardo notices how much she likes Mondriana and they start talking about the wonder that is the new governess. Elena overhears the entire talk and when she is alone with Gerardo, she warns him that he needs to be faithful to her, or else, she will kill Mondriana. Just like that.
Gerardo says that he’s only trying to keep up with their charade, stay close to Emi; of course he doesn’t care about the governess, how could he when he has Elena? He tries to laugh off her jealousy, but it’s obvious that he’s worried, because when Emi first told him that Mondriana is missing, his first thought was that Elena might have done something to her.
PART 2
Camila and Marta talk about her love for Ricardo and how stubborn he is. Marta points out their different social status and asks Camila to look around, acknowledge the life that she’s used to, a life that she could never have with Ricardo. Instead of saying that she doesn’t care about money, Camila says that she’s very much aware of this, but the heart wants what the heart wants.
The next morning Emi wakes up with Mondriana by her side. Emi is upset because she was left alone the other day, so, to make it up to her, Mondriana promises to make al her wishes come true. They decide to go have a picnic near the family cabana.
Elena and Gerardo are with Judge Pervy, agreeing to his requests (30% of the fortune if he says the will is valid). As we remember, they are only trying to win some time, they plan to kill the judge after they get their hands on the money, but I don’t think this plan of theirs will be successful. They have some conditions, though, but never mind those, because the judge doesn’t think they are in the position to be picky. They better worry about the police discovering that they killed the lawyer; already, Ricardo is sniffing the truth.
Later on Elena and Gerardo talk about the fact that Ricardo might turn into a problem. Gerardo thinks Ric can’t do much, now that he’s no longer with Camila, but Elena is smarter than that, she thinks there are no small enemies.
When she is alone, she calls Ernesto, I think he has a plan in mind for Ricardo.
Ricardo is on the phone with Marta. She hopes he and his dad get along. Mondriana hears part of the conversation and later Marta confides in her that she is mostly worried for Ricardo, because he couldn’t continue his studies.
So Mondriana goes to the office, takes her check book from one of the drawers, goes to the secret room and writes a check for Ricardo’s studies.
Later in the day, when she and Emi go to visit Gabriel at the book store, she leaves the check for Rodrigo to find under the cash register.
But before that, she and Emi go to the cabana (which is THE perfect hook up place; Camila is really an idiot, that’s where she and Ricardo should have had their “picnic”, not on the grass, near the lake, where everyone could see them).
Anyway, Emi and Pacho are playing and Mondriana looks at them, teary eyed. She knows she has to say goodbye to Emi and the girl notices she is not well. Mondriana hides her sadness and Emi gives her the news that she finally had her first period. She knew all that she had to do because her mom left her instructions in case it happened while she was on tour.
Mondriana is very happy and motherly, the scene is so sweet it actually made me tear up a bit, too.
Emi could handle this, but she’s sad that her mom didn’t leave her instruction for the rest of her life, like her first kiss, getting married, having a baby… Seriously, I was crying when I watched this and the episode continues with these bitter sweet moments.
Diego visits the girls in their room to tell them that he needs a job, so if they hear something, please let him know. Valeria is happy that he decided to stay and he says that yes, he won’t leave until Adriana is back with him. Valeria gets sad all of a sudden, I think she is falling for Diego, or at least she thinks that she is, because he has been so nice to her and she is very fragile right now.
PART 3
When Mondriana and Emi get back from visiting Rodrigo at the book store, Camila is upset because M took her sister in that dangerous neighborhood (ugh) without telling anyone or asking anyone to accompany them. Mondriana apologizes and tries to get close to Camila by asking her to have a cup of coffee together – she and Emi are so close, maybe Camila could become a friend, too. Camila coldly refuses the invitation, she’s busy (doing what???), maybe another time they can do it. Mondriana accepts, but she is very sad, because this was supposed to be her “good bye” with her eldest daughter.
Rodrigo is dusting the desk when he finds the check. He is very excited, asks Gabe to go search for Ricardo and meet him at the bar to celebrate. Once there, he chats with Diego a bit – Diego is upset because of Adriana.
Then Ricardo and Gabe show up and Rodrigo gives him the good news: Monica left him a check for Ric’s studies, the check somehow got lost, but here it is now!
Do you think that Ricardo is happy about it? Think again!!! He is royally p!ssed instead, because his father lost the check and this cost him a year of school (UGH! UGH! UGH!)
Mondriana continues her farewell tour, by writing a letter to Emi: there are no life instructions that she can leave her, just a promise that no matter what happens, she will always watch over her, no matter from where.
Then she sees Lorena in the garden and they strike up a conversation about how Lorena and Monica used to love gardening when they were kids. Mondriana thanks Lorena for taking such good care of the girls and then explains that Monica once told her how much she trusts Lorena and how she wants her to be in charge of her daughters if anything happened to her.
Lorena is very touched by this, she has been missing her sister greatly, but she didn’t have anyone to share her grief with. She hugs Mondriana and the scene is very nice and sweet.
Mondriana is saying goodbye to the house, too; she’s looking at the furniture, caressing the pictures in the office… Then she starts remembering making love with Gerardo; she is in some sort of a trance and Gerardo catches her like that. She is startled by his interruption and she leaves running. She goes to the guest house and starts pining after him like she usually does. Me thinks that she needs to say good bye to him, too, but with something more than a hug and a letter… get it?
Gerardo wants to go after Mondriana, but Elena calls him and asks him to come to Erensto’s house, because he’s not there and they can take advantage and have some fun (whatever she asked Ernesto to do, we didn’t see). Gerardo isn’t too happy with the summons, but he goes to his car.
Just as he is about to start the engine and leave, Mondriana gets into the car and asks him to drive off, take her someplace far away from the house.
HAHAHA! Mondriana WILL say good bye to Gerardo like I suggested her just a few paragraphs ago. Way to go, girl, have one last bite of your cheating husband’s charms.
After all, as far as you know, you will never see him again.
Thanks for the super recap, Adriana.
Mondriana's scenes with Emiliana were very touching. You can really imagine her struggle to decide whether to stay with her children or give Adriana back her body. Wait until she finds out that she was murdered and she lost the opportunity to spend years with her children due to Elena's greed and jealousy.
The cabaña is the perfect hook-up place. What a dope Camila is.
And Ricardo, what a jerk!
I agree that Valeria is falling for Diego. Big mistake as she has to know after hearing Diego's declaration of undying love for Adriana.
Romy:
Thanks for my guesses being off. I can't wait to see how things really are : ) I wouldn't look at Nina in a good light if I were Tifon and familia. She'd have a lot of 'splain' to do that's for sure. I just bet Carmina always seems to have a back up plan doesn't she?
Sue 455:
Thanks so very much for the phrase and that so fits Carmina doesnt' it? I also liked you thoughts about the pasts of these characters. Out of all the kids at Tiradero it seems Max was the most effected. He's still scared. I'm not saying Carmina and Nina weren't but Max shows it more.
Vivi:
I too like the family dynamic, it's chaos but they are so much fun. The reason Leleco and Muricy split up was Muricy and her jealousy. She started that whole ball rolling and I agree, they need to tell their faithful young lovas.
Thanks so much for the very thorough recap, Adriana. I enjoyed reading it.
Yep, the Little Prince really hurt his father this time. But whaaaaat? Only a month has passed. He couldn't catch up the missed work? Or enroll for the following semester? But I'm sure he's going to stay around to obsess about Camila. Not sure what Elena has planned for him, but it's probably not good. And...imagine her reaction when, and if, that tuition check clears since she tore up the first one! Since she's been Mónica's "business manager" she'd doubtless know about that.
The scenes with Mondriana saying good by to Emi were so very sad. And I liked the one with she and Lorena as well. Lorena hasn't gotten the least bit of sympathy for the loss of her sister from anyone.
ITA about Valeria starting to have feelings for Diego. I thought it was going to be Maite, but Vale is the really vulnerable one who will be hurt by Diego's never-dying love for Adriana.
