De que me paga, me paga.
Recapper note: Hot diggety, we've got some SMART people in this one. I almost wonder if Ms. Suarez needs a review of the TN "rules."
Skipping the refrito and right to the nuevo.
Karina calls Natalia a robamaridos. Grumps interrupts the catfest and yells at Karina for how she answers the phone and tells her to keep him up to speed on company happenings.
Alonso agrees to the trap. Albogado sets up a camera with the laptop, but they find that having the laptop open and facing Diana will be obvious. Albogado offers to my a hidden camera (which will turn out to be a super obivious camera, but whatever.)
Diego notices the missing 20 mil pesos and immediately calls the bank. They tell him about the internet transfer to Oliverio.
Carmen shares a picture with Lupita. It's a seven month pregnant Carmen on the day Lupita's dad stood her up at the altar. Lupita says she may not have a dad, but she's got the best mom.
Karina tells Diana that Natalia and Diego have reconciled. Karina wants to tell Nat that Diana is pregnant, but Diana tells her to stand down. Diana monologues.
Lupita is going to fabricate a little on her essay. She'll use El as the inspiration for her dad.
Diego tells Diana he knows about about Sexter. She freaks but then realizes he's talking about the 20 mil pesos. Whew! That was close.
Diego wants Grumps to take things easy and not get stressed. Leave the business to him.
Sexter only agrees to meet Diana if she pays him.
Diego wants to diversify Caprico. He wants to get into ready to wear fashion and he wants Irene to be in on it from the ground up. (Yeah, that makes sense, cars to fashion.) Irene mentions that her mother always wanted to do something like that. She will consider the offer, but really needs to think about it.
Irene talks to Alonso about it. He encourages her to do it. He really thinks she can do it.
Diana brings the pregnancy test to Natalia at the office...and Nat just LAUGHS IT OFF!!! Yes! *fist pump* Nat doesn't believe the test and even if she is pregnant, it's probably not Diego's. (Wow this is refreshing!) In private, Natalia still has some doubts. I'm glad she was tough in front of Diana, though.
Irene still wants to know who Alonso likes (I missed A LOT of this conversation.)
Lupita reads her essay about her family for the class. He dad is awesome. He likes karate and makes the best hot cakes in the world. The teachers asks what he does for a living. When she and the class hear he's a policeman, they want him to come visit and talk to the class. Ruh roh! Lupita is busted!
Karina is pithed about her pittance. She confronts Grumps and he fires her. Then she acts all surprised she got fired. She calls Diana and asks for a loan. Diana is in the process of driving with Sexter to the therapy session. Diana almost gets into a wreck. Sexter makes a comment about how Diana can't drive and talk at the same time (will this be important in the future? I think so.)
Albogado sets up the obvious camera.
Natalia throws away the pregnancy test, but misses the trash can (which she doesn't notice.) The cleaning lady comes along and puts it with some files on Natalia's desk.
Irene comes to visit Caprico and explains the new venture to Natalia. Natalia is glad Irene is taking the offer and that they will see each other more often. Natalia tells Irene that Brigitte is studying fashion design. Did Natalia say she was a good seamstress (fill in please.) Irene thinks maybe Brigitte could work with her (? Again, didn't catch it.)
Karina comes home to bills and the rent.
Andres used his savings to buy a cab. What the hell were he and the older man talking about?
Diana and Sexter arrive at Alonso's office.
Diego is thrilled Irene will be working at Caprico. Natalia brings the pile of folders with the hidden pregnancy test to his office.
Diana and Sexter play like family. Albogado calls Al on his cell and tells him to make up an excuse to leave the office. Al obliges. While he is out, Diana comments that Sexter does gay so well she's staring to have doubts. Sexter is offended. They start talking dirty and gettin' it on. The Two Als have their proof!!
Diego finds the pregnancy test in the files.

Gracias, Sara! They really crammed a LOT in there tonight!
I don't quite get the foray into fashion. From what I gather they design and/or manufacture car interiors. Which has "fabric" in common with clothing, so they'll have industry contacts and buying power, but if I learned anything from watching Betty La Fea it's that success in fashion is a LOT more than just lowering the cost of materials.
What Natalia told Irene was that she also dabbles in fashion design, but just for fun, however her sister Brigitte is studying it in school. Irene said if they get the fashion arm of Caprico up and running, maybe she can give Brigitte a job. Well...Brigitte can't be any more useless than Karina, right?
And hooray for finally firing her, Grumps! Did I just say something positive about Grumps? I think I need to lie down!

Thanks so much for your recap Sara. Friendly reminder, you are too hard on yourself, recaps aren't verbatim. You covered all the important points as well as directing our attention to Diana's reckless driving as a potential future plot point.
Alonso and Irene - she kept asking who he likes and he kept getting more nervous. She notices his nervousness and teases him some more. At one point he says maybe he should tell her, then stops and says he's confused.
It was so great that Nat laughed in Diana's face [yes fist bump] and the two Al's actually saw Diana and Sexter in action (so even if the recording didn't work Diego has two witnesses). I'm wondering how the pregnancy thing will work out? Plot wise if Diana is revealed as being the horrible person she is, what will kept Nat and Diego apart now?
Karina has been dumb but who's really stupid enough to go off on his/her boss and expect to kept his/her job? That's too dumb to live territory for sure. And Kat regarding saying something positive about Grumps, even broken clocks are right twice a day; we know he probably won't have a lot more of these moments.
Hopefully the Brat will be too lazy to work so poor Nat won't have to expose her to Irene.

IRT future plot points- I believe that Kat once mentioned that there are almost no throw away scenes/lines in this show.

Like that Diana and the Sexter are being careless. Well, usually they wouldn't need to but we have some savvy characters here who actually know what they are doing in terms of surveillance.

Sara- The recap was great! I'm looking forward to watching Nat burst Diana's bubble about the pregnancy. Go, Nat! And go Als! Also glad to read that Grumps finally fired Karina. She's lucky that she lasted this long.
Well, does Irene know she's adopted? Because if the truth about Natalia being her daughter comes out, Natalia & Diego might not want to go there on account of being cousins.
Karina's problem is she thinks she's on the same level as Diego, Diana, Alonso, Alberto & Grumps and she is not. Grumps thinks of her as being on the same level as Lala or the Country Caretakers.
Diana must've been stuck on stupid to think Natalia wouldn't point out the fact the baby was probably Sexter's.
Lupita better hope Eleazar can go to Show N Tell with her class.

I don't see much point for Diana in the story UNLESS Grumps tries to pressure Diego to stay with Diana and raise the baby so there won't be a scandal attached to the Caceres family name.

Do we know anything about Karina except that she is just a friend of Diana? She might shape up if she would only get away from Di's influence.
Anon207- Yes, Irene knows she's adopted. I recall reading in a recap that Grumps threw in Irene's face that he regrets letting his wife convince him to adopt her. Nice.
Well, I wonder if Diego knows she's adopted b/c I could Nat & Diego would think they're blood cousins and stay away.
They've been mentioning Rodrigo with frequency so maybe Rodrigo will come back and he & Diana will team up to split Diego & Natalia up.

Considering how loud Irene and Grumps were getting in some of those arguments and that it seemed like the common theme, it would be odd if Diego doesn't know. But, then again...this is a telenovela, so having him somehow be oblivious or never being around to hear any of those fights is also possible.
Irene probably left town shortly after giving birth to Baby Girl Caceres. It seems like she had been away for a while.
At what point did Grumps get custody of the twins? Because the twins might have been living with their parents when everything with Irene was going down.
And then with the twins being away at college, they wouldn't really know exactly what was going down between Grumps & Irene back at home.

Thanks for the great recaps! Does anyone know what was going on between the shrimp and Carlos in the jail cell? It looked like there was some weird editing in there. We have a California State politician who was recently arrested for an international gun selling scam and the organized crime figure who was arrested with him goes by "The Shrimp". Every time I see this in the paper it makes me think of our De Q shrimp.
Thanks Sara for the recap. And Kat for Monday's. I'm really liking this TN. I wasn't in the mood for it last night, and still enjoyed the ep.
