Caray, Caray!

And yet again we have been subjected to Uni's scissors. This episode was a combination of episodes 126 and 127 from Mexico. I watched the first episode online, but did not watch the second, so this recap will contain deleted scenes from the first episode. Deleted scenes are in italics... again.

Leftovers:
Arturo picks up Isabel's phone and reads the text. Where? When? He asks her, "Who sent this text? What does it mean?"

New stuff:
Isabel lies that the text is from her client in Monterrey who is very, well, direct. She assures Arturo he has nothing to be jealous of since the client is old, chubby and has a wart on his nose. And yes, that description fits Javier. She hugs and kisses and whispers sweet nothings to Arturo. He forgets the text and they head upstairs. Meanwhile at the penthouse Javier gets no answer and gets mad. Ha. Ha. The joke's on you old chubby warty nose!


Next day:
Isabel tells Gabi about the text and how she lied to Arturo about a client. Right on cue Isabel gets another text from Javier. They agree that Isabel should meet him at Gabi's apartment. Isabel texts Javier the address. He texts back that he'll be there at 7 pm. Isabel and Gabi quickly finish up at Casa Arte so they can head to Gabi's and set the trap.

On the phone Sonia's listening to Gil tell her about Daniel's new independence. She isn't impressed, after all it was Fabricio who gave Dan a job. She rolls her eyes and keeps interrupting Gil's story. He asks when Sonia's coming to visit. Well, it's like this... she's married now and she's busy and she'll visit one of these days... someday... real soon... Buh-bye. She quickly hangs up. Gil smiles ruefully. He didn't even get a chance to tell her that Cuca has returned to the house!

Javier calls Dante who assures him that he's keeping an eye on Isabel.

At Iakani (or Dr. $talker'$ Architecture Firm with unnamed partner) Tita worries about the final inspection on the orphanage. I guess she's heard that this firm's buildings go boom. Art and Bruno tell her not to worry.

Gil thinks marriage has been good for Sonia. Cuca thinks Sonia married for money. I guess Cuca isn't as dense as we all thought. Gil chides her, but Cuca reminds Gil that he agreed she could speak truthfully from now on.

Sonia and Fabricio hire Arturo to build them a nice big house where they can raise a family. Art thanks them for their confidence in him. Sonia squees at the thought of her very own de la Riva Mansion.

Cuca asks Gil about Agatha. Does he like her? Gil feels grateful to Agatha for helping Dan. Cuca says it's clear that the social class thing is a problem for Agatha and Gil, just like it was for Dan and Mari.

Agatha has some news for Andrea. She's met a nice man. Andrea excitedly urges her to spill all the details.

The inspector is at the orphanage. Everyone follows him as he does his rounds. I notice that Ally's skirt matches the exterior paint exactly. When Ally stands next to the wall her skirt blends in and just her top half appears. I guess nobody at Televisa noticed this. The building passes inspection.

Agatha says, "His name is Gilberto Cervantes. He's Daniel's papa." Andrea has heard Gil is very serious and very strict. Agatha admits she gets nervous just talking about him, look - her palms are sweaty.

The orphanage will open as soon as the inspector issues the certificate. He asks for the name of the orphanage. Tita says, "Casa Hogar de Padre Adalberto" because the Padre did so much for the kids on the streets. Tita cries at his memory.

Agatha frets that she's not good enough for Gil, after all, he didn't like Mari. Andrea doesn't think Agatha has anything to worry about. Agatha is smart and beautiful.

Ileana sets the table for three. Dan asks who's coming, then answers the door. It's Gil. Well this is awkward.

Isabel tells Arturo she has to go meet her client. Gabi is going with her. Isa's pretty sure she's going to be late for dinner. She'll call later.

Dan isn't happy to see his dad. Ileana thought it was a good idea for them to talk. Gil says he isn't here to judge or criticize, he just wants to talk. He sits down and then realizes that Ileana is still standing. He gets up and offer her his chair. Dan sits down reluctantly.

Dante calls Javier and tells him that the address Isabel texted is Gabi's apartment. Javier tells Dante to follow his instructions carefully.

Arturo talks to Marcela on the phone (I guess he has to check in with her now that she's the senior partner.) He invites her to dinner to review the contract. Marcela wants Art to tell Isabel she's coming. She wouldn't want Isabel to think she just shows up... Art blabs that Isabel is meeting with a client and will be late.

After dinner Ileana and Dan make coffee. There's a knock at the door and Gil opens it and there's Agatha. She smiles and he stares delightedly.

Isabel and Gabi hide cameras in the apartment. Gabi leaves. If Isabel needs anything, she'll be at the neighbor's. Night falls.

Marcela shows up at Casa Arte. When does this broad find time to practice medicine? Oh, that's right. She doesn't. She specializes in fake diagnosis and phony cures. Mauricio and Andrea tell her that Isabel and Gabi are with a client. Marcela thought bubbles her call with Arturo and wonders why did Isabel lie to Arturo?

Over coffee, Gil tells stories and everyone laughs. Ileana tells Gil that Dan is doing well in school. Everyone is enjoying themselves until Gil mentions military school.

At Gabi's, Isabel realizes it's getting late and Javier still hasn't shown up.

Gil talks about his wife's death. Ilena suddenly realizes her phone battery is dead and she needs to make a call. She and Agatha leave. Gil continues his story. He didn't know how to take care of a little kid.

Tita and Ally tell Mari and Uriel that the orphanage is finished and the other kids will soon be living there. They have missed their friends and want to visit every day. Bruno comes in and Uriel thanks him for his work on the orphanage. He told everyone at school that he's got the best dad in the world! Bruno is touched. Uriel is going to play soccer and wants to learn to be the goal keeper. Bruno knows all about soccer. He gets so excited at the prospect of coaching the team that Uriel looks scared.

Dan confesses that he never felt good enough to get Gil's love or respect. All he ever wanted was to hear Gil say "very good, son." Gil feels that his own son hates and rejects him. He never realized that Dan didn't want to be like him.

Aranza talks to Javier on the phone and invites him to a concert. He has too much work tonight, but he'll make it up to her. He hangs up and gloats about Isabel being unable to resist him. Yuk.

Dan and Gil talk about Dan's mom dying.  

Marcela shows up at Arturo's. Dafne asks Marcela to help her get a job at the hospital. Casa Arte is in financially difficult straits and she knows Isabel and Gabi are only keeping her on because Dafne is "family". Arturo comes in, greets Marcela and asks if Isabel has come home.

Gil knows that all parents make mistakes, but he's made more than most. But he loves Dan and he'll always be there for him. Dan can always count on him. Always. He opens his arms but Dan backs away. Gil turns and leaves. Dan starts to cry.

At Agatha's, Ileana says that Dan is very angry with Gil. There is a knock at the door. Gil has come to talk to Agatha. As he enters, Ileana heads back to Dan's. "I can't get through to my son. It's all my fault." Ileana finds Dan sitting alone in the dark. She begs him to give his dad another chance.

Arturo calls Isabel to tell her Marcela has arrived. Isabel won't be home for a while, so go ahead and start dinner without her. She calls Gabi to ask what she thinks and just then the doorbell rings. Isabel hisses, "He's at the door!" She hangs up quickly, puts on her jacket, checks the recorder and opens the door to Javier. He smiles, "I'm sorry I'm late."

Javier asks, "Aren't you going to offer me something?" Isabel goes to get some wine and turns on the camera feed on the computer. Javier spots the cameras immediately. He scoffs, "Cute. But I'm always a step ahead of you." Isabel texts Art that Gabi is sick and she's taking her home. Art of course, reads the text to Marcela who suddenly seems very concerned about Gabi's health. In fact, she brought some folic acid that she needs to take to Gabi right this minute. Arturo asks about the contract but Marcela says the contract can wait but Gabi's health can't. She practically runs out the door.

Isabel brings the wine and the lights in the apartment go out. She looks out the window and notices that Gabi's building is the only one without electricity. Javier gets close. Really, really close. He says it's more romantic this way.

At the tenement Gil and Dan embrace. Agatha and Ileana look on with smiles.

Isa moves away, "Is that the way to seduce me?" Javier thinks Isabel doesn't know "true love", in fact he thinks that her relationship with Arturo is just a result of all the bad things she went through with her ex. Isabel asks how he knows about her past. Aranza told him. The power comes back on. Downstairs Gabi and the neighbor discover that all the switches in the electrical room had been shut off. Kids playing a prank, they guess. Javier takes his leave. Marcela pulls up in front of Gabi's building and sees Javier leaving.

Isabel remembers a similar interlude with Feo. She scolds herself, "Stop comparing them!" I say go with it Isabel! It's scary, but you'll learn something. Isabel calls Gabi and says she'll tell her what happened tomorrow. But Javier scares her. Gabi reminds her to check the cameras and the recording. Marcela sees Isabel leaving and thinks, "Javier? Now Isabel? There are just too many coincidences."

At home Arturo asks Isabel how the client meeting went. "Bad. He's wasting my time." She just wants to take a bath (to remove the slime) and go to bed. Arturo asks if she saw Marcela who went to see Gabi. "No, I must have left before she got there."

Javier thanks Dante for his good work. The lights went off at just the right time. Javier tells Dante that he always felt passion and desire for Isabel, but now she's more self-confident which makes him want her more. Dante cautions him against falling in love with Isabel. "I never loved her. This is just payback. I'll get her to leave her husband."
"And Aranza..."
"Aranza will be my wife and Isabel will be my lover." I would say there's no conceit in Javier's family because he's got it all.

The next day Isabel tells Gabi that there is no video because the lights were out and no recording. Javier got too close. Javier reminds her of Fernando. It was horrible! Isabel admits if he would have tried anything else she would have run off.

Fab can't afford the large parcel of land that Sonia wants. He's sorry, but he's not a millionaire. If he bought the land they'd have to wait years to get enough money to put a house on it. He suggests they think a bit smaller. Sonia might have a way to get the money. She can ask Gil! Fab refuses to consider it. And he can't use the profits from the company because even though his aunt is in jail she still owns the company. He kisses her and leaves for work. Sonia fumes. If Feo hadn't screwed up, she'd have the money for a big house.

Isabel asks if Marcela showed up at Gabi's apartment after Isabel left. Gabi says no.

Aranza and Esteban talk about school. They're both glad they're able to get along like they did before. Esteban kisses Ara's cheek as he leaves. Sonia has been in the background watching the whole thing.

Marcela is waiting for Isabel's new "test results". Isabel asks if she went to Gabi's. Yes, Marcela says, she did, but she didn't go in because she saw both Javier and you leaving. She asks Isabel, "What's going on?"

Javier tells Dante that he's cautious. He's going to take Isabel someplace and have his way with her. Ewww. My skin is crawling at the thought.

Marcela says Isabel can trust her. Yeah, the same way you can trust any ordinary viper. Isabel takes a deep breath. "I know that Javier doesn't love Aranza, he's just after her money. He wants a new challenge and that challenge is me."

Sonia kisses Aranza's cheek and sits down next to her. She wants to know what's going on between her and Esteban. "You can't fool me. I can tell by the look in your eyes that you still have feelings for Esteban."

Isabel has no proof of what she's telling Marcela about Javier. Marcela says, "Javier knows you and Gabi tried before, so he knows that Gabi is involved again." Marcela suggests that Isabel change her strategy. The nurse comes in with Isabel's new test results. Isabel's phone rings and as she turns away to take the call Marcela opens her briefcase. She hides the new test results inside and takes out another similar envelope. Isabel finishes her call and Marcela opens the envelope. "I have bad news. Saving your daughter may be the last thing you ever do. The cancer has spread all over your body."
