Please enjoy this recap. I only got about half of everything and i'ts mostly from memory. I didn't take notes this time ; )
 

Thank you thank you thank you! I totally lost track of time last night and could swear that when I turned to Uni it was 10 and it was 11!!! so all I could watch was a part of the previews, which btw, look HOT HOT!!! so thank you for the recap!!
i wish i could have seen all the funny stuff with AS, Leo, Carm and loan shark... Nepo falling in pool and MA jumping in with shirt and tie, how could I have missed THAT!!!
but looks like i will get good MA and Lupe stuff tonight to recap...

Highlights for me:

AS and Leonardo at their classist best/worst and Carmelita finally telling them adios. Loved how she told Frida she was a good person and not like her "scorpion" relatives.

Poor Diego being "accosted " by Perla and the sunscreen.

Nobody wanting to give Nepo CPR except for MA. Everyone kept pretending to be distacted by something other than Nepo unconscious on the ground.

DaVinci 's outfit matching AS's dress again.

Salomon and AS and the martinis. He sure knows the way to her heart/stuff: alcohol and the return of her fur coat.

Minerva and Isela now knowing the combination is the date of don Aureliano's death (we know the happiest day of Alejo's life).

Doña Mati having a fine old time with the guys at the fonda.

MA in the pool with his shirt AND tie. At least he didn't get sunburned like poor Perla.

Lowlight:

Leonardo being stupid/careless and causing a fire. I hope the domino playing guys can help him put it out because it looks like Leonardo is going to be useless in this emergency.

Well it promises to be a "hot" night in Chalma and at the fonda. Should be good.

Thanks for the recap.

Nepo is annoyed that MA tells Emi all about his swimming prowess because he wants to show off and show him how to swim. He says the first thing he'll show him is that dive bomb (Lupe asks if it shouldn't be floating) and of course he goes and has the accident.
He's not annoyed about MA chatting up Lupe since he thinks MA is gay. He gets more "confirmation" of this when MA gets a call from Saul (who has been dropped by his client due to expenses) and Nepo teases that "oh it's your ‘friend' again". MA is confused by what Nepo means when he sort of teases him about the relationship.

I am (pleasantly) surprised by the promo for tomorrow. I did not think we were getting a love scene between them and certainly not yet!

I look forward to MA and Frida getting past their class issues. Yes they are nicer than AS and Leo, but they can't quite let go. Frida still balks at doing work and learning to be self-sufficient and MA still acts mildly horrified at Chalma and remembers the exclusive places where he went swimming in his days.

The naco talk is about beer, as Sharkey suggests them.

AS lists a bunch of things (which are ridiculous that they would have, like the Faberge eggs in the past) and wants I think $50,000. Sharkey offers her $30000. She says that's a ripoff because these relics are worthy of being in the British museum.
They did this deal where she's in essence pawning stuff and he says he won't charge her interest while she takes her time paying her back. He gave her back her mink coat, by the way, as a token of good faith!


 

Also poor Perla, she's just not model material, but that doesn't mean she's ugly, either! She feels bad because she says that even guys who turn to look at her, the moment they see Lupita, they ignore her. It's kind of funny because they gave ZV a fairly conservative swimsuit given her character, as I'm used to seeing her in bikinis in other novelas.

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by how much I like MA and Lupita and their chemistry. I was initially put off by why Zuria was paired with two men who are so much older than her, and why you don't see the reverse in novelas unless it's an actual plot point like Mirada de Mujer.
 

Thanks, Mads. Yet another episode that I didn't get to actually watch, but I'm so glad I have great recaps so I can keep up. Thanks to everyone on the team.

I do hope I can find the time to watch it, though. Its sounds like a cute one.

I really hope nothing happens to the fonda. Since I didn't watch it I don't know how serious the fire is/was. The Menchacas aren't going to come home to ruins, are they? :-(

Perla looked great in her swimsuit... Nepo, ummm, not so much.

I thought it was cute that the client told Saul that their relationship wouldn't have worked out anyway since Saul was an Aguila fan and he backed the Chivas (soccer teams).

Good for Carmelita.

Da Vinci was so cute in his matching outfit. He seemed genuinely concerned that AS wasn't happy with the breakfast Carmela served her.

Mads- Great recap. I was only watching this with one eye last night, but I could still tell it was a cute episode.

Did we ever get a reason for why MA didn't take off his long sleeve shirt and tie and get more comfortable? I'm starting to think he has an emotional problem tied to his clothing. :)

Zuria in that granny bathing suit was funny, especially since she ran around in Mar de Amor with less than that on as her everyday wear. However, her character in Refugio was very conservative in the way she dressed, but she came from a conservative family and small town. I liked that they never changed that about her character. It's a bit unusual that a big city girl like Lupita would be SO conservative though. Maybe she has an emotional issue with clothes too. :)
 

I think with Lupita, besides the fact that I think they mean to age her a little, they want it present that she's a mom, and feels a certain burden of responsibility. This is not a carefree 20-something, which when I see Zuria I can't help but think of her as one.
Lupita is a responsible woman who is trying to get her family ahead and has no time for frivolities (which includes attracting male attention) or for men who demand too much of her time and attention. She also is closed off emotionally because of Alejo's awful treatment.
 

Thank you!! Can you believe I FELL ASLEEP right around when Sharky showed up?? Then I was dozing on and off for a few minutes and eventually woke up enough to tape the rest of the show to watch this morning. So I did miss the start of the etiquette lesson, and Nepo falling into the pool (and unfortunately not getting amnesia as a result).

So, did I dream this while I was falling asleep, or did it really happen: I thought I heard Mini tell Isela that she didn't give MA everything she found. That she had held some things back to tempt him with next time. But now she's regretting it because she really wants to put the screws to Ahole.

My favorite part was Mati telling Sharky that he and AS were cut from the same cloth. Also AS telling Sharky that she rarely drinks, and then only at Christmas. LOL. (He offered her only 30,000 pesos as Mads said - not dollars.)

The thing the lady accused Saul of last week was charging higher fees from married women than from single ones, implying that he was taking sexual favors from single women to cut their fees.

Funny, Perla was so focused on putting lotion on Diego that she forgot to put it on herself.

Cathyx - I had to laugh when I saw MA at the pool in his shirt and tie, knowing you were waiting to see him shirtless. At least you got to see him in shorts!

And what is it with RPs and matches? Last time an RP lit a match, she blew up the boiler.
 

What Minerva was worried about was that she threatened Alejo about having proof of his dirty deeds, but really she doesn't know how conclusive what she gave MA was, so she needs to know and get more.

And yes, AS thought he was offering her Euros, and he clarified that it was pesos. This after he only offered a mere 30000.
 

Also one thing I just thought of that would be funny is Minerva and Lupita getting to talk about Alejo's poor performance in the sack. Now that we know from Mine that he's so lousy I wouldn't mind hearing it from Lupita. Especially now that it's about to happen between her and MA!

I think Mini and Isela were a hoot this epi cause Ahole still hasn't figured out that that bebe monitor is in his office, even Vilma hasn't discovered it : ) I like the getting back at Ahole. What a jerk that guy is! He is so egomaniacal I must say. I hope Mini is able to walk away with more than she came to the marriage with, but not with MA, jus' sayin'.

I did like Lupe's bathing suit cause she is a young mother and has responsibilities Anon 1:56 and Vivi pointed out. She is conservative.

Sara and Karen:

I don't think the Fonda will burn down, but Carmelita is sure gonna be pithed when she discovers what they have done. I think Chilly and the gang will save that kitchen.

Carlos:

Oh, yes the soccer teams. It seems that whenever JC is in a TN the Chivas team is mentioned. I think that is his favorite team, even though this was with Saul and another client. They brought this up also in Por Ella Soy Eva.

I think you will have a fab episode this evening, judging by the avances : )

So right about Perla, that girl is not feo at all. It's sad she feels that way about her sister. I think Perla will find her guy before the end of this TN and maybe some fame too.

About his shirt and tie, I think he just didn't want to change, cause there was nowhere to change when they got there, I think. Maybe he didn't want to get sunburned, who knows with him, lol. He is a strange character in some ways, but lovable nonetheless.

Thanks so much and hey just like Julie you guys think alike. Leo is dim shall we say in many practical ways just as Frida is. I'm glad there wasn't an explosion! The pot caught fire and the top of the stove I think. If Leo knew what he was doing he could have it out in no time, but I think those guys in the Fonda will come to the rescue.
 

On a personal note, when I lived in Sicily, we had gas stoves there, and the gas was called, bombola, as in bomb. It was a canister that sat inside the stove and if left on without being lit, really created a bomb. You had to turn the canister on and then light the stove after turning one burner on low. The gas was not odorless either, they put some sulpher smelling stuff in it to let you know it was on, if you hadn't secured it. I got used to using it pretty quick. What Leo did was especially dangerous, cause it sounded like all the burners were on, on high at that, and he had that pot right on the stove without being lit, of course grease and stuff would catch fire like that.
 

In Leo's defense I must say that this is likely the first time that he even tries to lit a stove - no excuse for causing a fire - but at least he was trying to help. AS had him and Frida running around like her servants. They were actually both very good waitressing so I wonder if we might see one of them do that for a job (if they ever get one).

Also I thought Diego was really sweet to Perla in the way he told her that he wasn't interested. I did feel a little bad for her though but I'm sure she'll keep on pursuing.
 

Also, loved Friday and Leo talking "Naco" and then pretending to be nauseated when Sharkey kissed AS's hand (twice!)

I have the feeling Nepo wasn't totally unconscious when he fell. He woke up very quickly when he realized MA was going to give him CPR. LOL
 

I think Jaime Camil has some tattoos. Maybe the producers thought that was out of character for MA and went for the shirt and tie while swimming gag.
 

They've let Gabriel Soto play a rich businessman, with all his tattoos on display whenever he takes his shirt off. Either JC has a thing about this (he does have OCD), hasn't been to the gym lately, or the character of MA is supposed to be quirky like that.

my vote is for 'the character of MA is supposed to be quirky like that.' or he still has something against taking shirt of at 'naco' pools... lol!
 

MA has had a hangup about clothing ever since this TN started. The tie is probably a symbol of the dignity that he's afraid he'll lose by living among all these poor people.

Apparently, though, he's not afraid to go tie-less around Lupita. :)
 

...upon further reflection, maybe it's especially around Nepo that he really feels the need to wear a tie.
 

JC has his daughter's name elena tattooed over his heart. We will have to see how they deal with it tonight. Don't they have tattoo make-up around?

My sister still gets freaked out by the stove so I can't fault Leo for such a terrible first time with it.

I think JC didn't get shirtless in Por Ella Soy Eva and Los Exitosos Pérez either. I remember as post-sex scene from LEP where he had the sheets over his chest so you almost only see his shoulders and I thought it was weird.
