Por Siempre Mi Amor #98 US 4/21/2014 Dafne is Critical, Bruno's Marriage is in the ICU and Fab Just Needs to Pull the Plug

Leftovers:
Ally and Bruno work on preparations for Uriel's party.
Art and Aranza tell Lucha that they are going to the hospital to see about Dafne.
Sonia returns to the apartment full of sweet talk, Fabricio demands to know why she never told him about her pregnancy.
Monday's Dish:
Andrea and Mauricio arrive at the hospital. When they see the blood on Esteban's shirt they start to panic. He assures them that he's alright, the blood is Dafne's. Someone tried to rob the cafe and she was shot. He doesn't know what her condition is because the doctors haven't told him anything.
Sonia is sure it was Tita who told Fab the truth. He screams, "What does it matter who told me? How much more are you hiding about your past? I'm your husband and you lied to me again!" Sonia claims her past is too painful, that she just wants to forget it. Fab demands to know what happened. She sobs, "I was raped." Fabricio's eyes say it all. He doesn't believe her.
At the hospital Arturo calls Dr. Evil to come and "help" with Dafne. Aranza tells Esteban that she couldn't reach Dafne's parents, but she left several messages.
Fabricio asks again, "Is this the truth?" Sonia starts spinning her web of lies. "Could I lie about something so terrible?" Fab is unsure, "I don't know. You've told so many lies." Sonia is sorry for not being honest, but every time she talks about the rape, it's like going through it again. She's not over it, she'll never be over it! Fab still has his doubts. He asks, "Who are you Sonia?"
Zenaida and her Tio - Frankly Univision, I just don't give a damn. FF-->
Dan hits the books, Ilena asks if he'd like to go to lunch. He's got to study. She leans over and plants a big kiss right on his lips. He pulls himself away then scratches his nose. Ileana sits straight up. She knows he's not into her. "I thought with time you'd see me in a different way. But clearly you don't."
Fabricio tells Sonia he loves her, but he needs space and time to think about things. Sonia is stunned. "You're leaving me?" She pleads with him to stay. Is it just me or does Sonia look like this is really affecting her? Could Sonia actually have a heart? Who knew?
Dan says he needs more time. Ileana says it's not a question of time but of chemistry. They were better off as friends. She kisses his cheek and walks out.
Okay, I have to vent. Why is it in this novela that if a woman acts like an entitled little bitch (Ara), an obsessed stalker (Marcela), an opportunist (Dafne), an idiot (Mari), or an unscrupulous scheming whore (Sonia) she gets a guy? And not just an ordinary guy, a nice guy. But the honest, hard-working, intelligent women who are decent and of good moral character (Ileana, Gabi) get nothing? Nada. Zip. Zilch. What the heck kind of a message is that? The only two good women who have a man in their lives are Andrea and Agatha and they are minor characters.
Gil and Agatha talk and canoodle when Ileana walks past quickly. Agatha calls to her and she tearfully says she broke things off with Dan. "It's pointless. He's never going to fall for me." She rushes off in tears.
Ally asks Tita if she should invite Fabricio and Sonia to Uriel's party. Tita thinks it's too late and besides, she's got stuff to do. She hurries off. (WTH?)
Art thinks Dr. Evil will know something about Dafne's condition. Aranza chirps that Marcela will tell us what's going on because she's nice! Esteban blames himself for Dafne's condition. He doesn't understand why she put herself in front of him. Andrea thinks Dafne was trying to protect him. Aranza looks worried that Esteban may actually have feelings for Dafne. Because it's all about you isn't it, Aranza?
Gabi is still worried that she hasn't heard from Isabel. Edgar arrives with news that Isabel's hospital bill was paid with cash. The doctors say Isabel wanted to leave and her friend was there to take her. Since she left of her own accord there has been no kidnapping and the police can't investigate it anymore. Gabi is sure that Isabel left because Javier threatened her. The doorbell rings. It's Bruno! And Uriel!
Marcela says that Dafne is in surgery. The bullet is in her spine close to the nerves and it will be a long and delicate operation. Dafne could end up an invalid, or she could die. But the good news is that Dafne is young and in good hands. (Only because Dr. Evil is not part of the surgical team.)
Bruno tells Uriel to do his homework, Gabi goes to get him a snack. Uriel admires Gabi and tells Bruno, "Your friend is very nice." Bruno sighs, "She's a great, great woman."
Ally, Zenaida and Baltazar get things ready for the party. Ally says Uriel wants to play soccer with everyone! Baltazar doesn't seem happy about this.
Isabel searches the bedroom and finally finds her purse. She's surprised that her wallet contains no ID or credit cards, but at least she has some money.
At the hospital coffee shop Esteban says he feels like he's in a nightmare with all the bad things that have been happening. Aranza tells him to look on the bright side. Well let's see... Angel was kidnapped but was rescued... Este was accused of theft but didn't wind up in prison... on the other hand Grandma Meanie died... but at least she's not gambling anymore! Yes Esteban, your world has gone to Hell in a handbasket, but look on the bright side. You've got... Aranza! shudder.
Andrea asks why Marcela is involved with Dafne's care since gunshot wounds aren't her specialty. (We all know her specialty is operating under the table.) Art says he asked her to help as a "friend of the family". Andrea pointedly corrects him, "She's a friend of yours." Art fumes and instead of responding with something logical like, "this may not be Marcela's specialty but I respect her opinion" instead says, "My Dad likes her too, and besides she works here" as if that were some kind of recommendation better than the Good Housekeeping Seal. Andrea makes it clear that after what Marcela said about Isabel, she and Mauricio don't think Marcela is a good person, let alone a good doctor. Speak of the Devil and she appears. Marcela walks up and Andrea and Mauricio make their excuses and leave. Art lamely says, "They are friends of Isabel so they don't like you. But I trust you." Art, you trust anything that coils itself around you. Remember Sssssonia? (My hubby wants to know why Art doesn't have the word "loser" tattooed on his forehead.)
Andrea and Maurcio talk privately. Andrea hopes that the truth about Marcela will come out. "She's not who Arturo thinks she is." Mauricio agrees but cautions, "until the truth comes out we better keep our opinions to ourselves so we don't have trouble with Arturo."
Gil checks in on Dan. "Ileana told me you broke up. Is it about Marianela?" Dan denies it, "I told you before that relationship isn't possible." Gil looks worried. "Well, if you need to talk, just let me know. I'm here for you."
Bruno came to apologize. What he said about Isabel was stupid. Gabi is still worried because she hasn't heard a word from Isabel. Gabi's afraid that Javier has done something to Isabel and the police won't investigate because Isabel left the hospital voluntarily. Gabi cries and Bruno hugs her. Uriel watches from the table.
Isabel asks Feo what happened to her ID and credit cards? He tells her that they were stolen right after the accident so he cancelled them. Isabel wants to replace them right away. Feo pushes Isabel to move to the country. She won't go until she gets her doctor's okay. Isabel asks, "Do you know my doctor's name?" Feo claims Isabel never told him and he never went with her to any of her appointments. Isabel asks him to make an appointment for her with a specialist. He thought bubbles, "I need to convince you to leave as soon as possible and make sure nobody looks for you."
As Isabel reads a book, Feo sends something from his tablet. Gabi gets an e-mail from "Isabel". She reads it to Bruno, "Dear Gabi, I had an accident. I'm okay, but I can't come back. My life as I knew it is over. I'll come back after Arturo calms down. I need time to clear my head. Please don't try to find me. I'll call you sometime soon, then I'll go on with the rest of my life as you should go on with yours. Take care of your baby. Love, Isabel." Gabi cries, "I don't understand. I don't understand."
Gil blames himself for Dan breaking up with Mari. "He learned all the stupid prejudices that I had." Together they decide to try to get Mari and Dan to reconcile their relationship. Angel comes out of the house and asks Agatha if he can go see his "superheroes", Dan and Borlas.
Bruno has to take Uriel back home for his party. He comforts Gabi by telling her that now she knows it was Isabel herself that decided to go away. Gabi still can't believe that Isabel ran away like a coward instead of facing her problems. Bruno and Uriel leave and Gabi dials her cell phone.
Angel asks Dan if he has a girlfriend. "Well I did, but she broke up with me." Borlas comes up and Angel notices the tension between them. "Aren't you friends anymore?" Borlas laughs, "No, he crossed the line with first girlfriend. And now he's lost the other one." Borlas is a jackass.
Feo reads the reply Gabi has sent to "Isabel". Gabi doesn't agree with what Isabel is doing. She shouldn't run away. She's never done that before. Isabel should stay and fight to clear her name. But if running away like a coward is what Isabel wants, it's her decision and Gabi will respect it. Isabel asks, "Did you get good news?" Feo smiles, "Yes. Very good."
Sonia arrives at Tita's and promptly blames her for Sonia's blow-up with Fabricio. Tita says it's Sonia's fault for not coming clean when she had the chance. Sonia just couldn't bring herself to tell him the truth and now he's left the house. Sonia wants Tita to talk to Fabricio, but Tita refuses to get involved.
Fabricio calls Ozvi and tells him that he's moved out for a few days. Fab doesn't know if he believes Sonia's story and he needs time alone to think. He's staying at a hotel. (Hey Fab, doesn't your Aunt Lydia have that vacant apartment you could stay in? I know there's a good CD you might be interested in still laying on the floor there.)
Bruno comes home with Uriel who promptly tells Ally that they visited Gabi and Dad had to hug her because she wouldn't stop crying. Ally sends Uriel off to get ready for his party and then bitches Bruno out. His responsibility is to this family and this child. I agree with her, but her lisp is annoying me to no end, especially when she yells.
Lucha and Gabino bring Isabel's clothes to Gabi's apartment. She tells them about Isabel's e-mail. They sympathize with Isabel because of all the nasty things Aranza and Arturo accused Isabel of doing. Gabi can't understand why Isabel just left without thinking about their company. She still can't believe Isabel just ran off.
Uriel's party - games, songs, soccer, cake, but hanging the piñata from the second floor balcony seems a bit unfair. Maybe Baltazar is planning to keep all that candy for himself.
Back at the hospital the doctor tells everyone that Dafne is finally out of surgery and in the recovery room. They were able to get the bullet out without damaging the nerves. Dr. Evil offers her help to Andrea who politely refuses it. (I guess Andrea wants Dafne to survive.) Dafne's dad finally shows up demanding to know what happened to his daughter. Art glares at him.
Advances:
Borlas and Dan duke it out.
Esteban wants to break up with Dafne when she recovers.
Dafne panics because she can't feel her legs.
Isabel takes a taxi from Fernando's Fun House and sees Art and Marcela together.

At least Dan didn't try to continue to unsuccessfuly conjure up feelings for Ileana he simply does not have. They both deserve better.

Did I hear correctly? Did Sonia tell yet another lie about the baby? I thought I heard her say that she lost the baby/she didn't carry to term? I wasn't paying close attention, though.

Sara, you are correct, Sonia changed her story yet again. She told Tita it was a boy and carried it to term and Fab got the miscarriage story

I am also predicting that Isabel's memory will start coming back. "Losing the baby" and seeing Arturo together should do that, particularly in view of how few episodes are left.

xlnt-- I meant to say I actually felt a little pity for Sonia, too. After Rab left I kept waiting for her tears to instantly dry and for her to start evil though bubbles, but she didn't!
Diana, Outside Esteban's reaction and his rough up of ABrat, I thought him a sensible boy, and while he and The Duck don't work and I cringe at the sight of ABrat, hoped for a plot twist at the end so he wouldn't end up curled at her feet. Wrong. The Duck did something ABrat incapable of; put someone else before themselves. Oh, ABrat might let some old lady in front of her in line for a hot dog but life or death situation, never happen.
Sonia, unfortunately, is beyond redemption (have yet to hear her say she is sorry for killing and thieving) but watching her as she realizes her wrong choices in life were unnecessary and she the cause of her own misfortune and loss just before she gets the axe is a little saddening.
Art, what a condensing, pompous, judgmental, hypocrite and hated him for a long time. He sat back as ABrat rained hate on Isabel and he stuck his head in the sand. He ignored her sacrifice to him and that little twit. He believes what is convenient and supports what he wants and to hell with you. Yes, Isabel was dumb to try again a ploy to trick Javier but the latest attempt would tell anyone with half a brain she tried but failed again and not cheating. How convenient for him to have his ex up close giving his ego strokes and he purrs like a fat cat. He forgot quickly his wife gave him money (which he still has) out of her business only to throw her out in the street with just the clothes on her back, sign an edict never to utter her name and conspire with his ex to make sure she doesn't get a red cent of his non existent fortune.

Karen, you got my vote for a Esteban & Ileana sitting in a tree, SMOOTCHING, love, marriage and baby carriage. Husband in passing pointed at her just last night and said what about her and that Esteban kid if that duck one dies
Thanks , Kathy, for the cutie cute chickie peep picture. Does anyone else remember when kids received REAL love peeps for Easter ? Then, as the peeps grew , parents had to figure out what to do with them. The recap was great,,,funny , insightful, and clever.
I also enjoyed everyone's comments. I must say that I am enjoying this show more than Robo right now. I am anxious to see what happens next and how the writers resolve all the issues that are up in the air right now.
When is the finale ? There are so many story lines to sort out. We have to find out if Sono's baby is alive and who he or she is. Now that Dan and Ileana have split up and Gil has accepted Mari , it appears that Borlas might be Sono's child, and Dan and Mari will end up together. I think that Gil's kindness toward Mari
was intended to clear the way for Dan and Mari to be together when it is revealed that she is not Sono's daughter . Will Sono make a confession before she dies? She seems to truly love Fab, or perhaps she just loves the lifestyle of an honest rich man's wife compared to her previous life as Diablo's BFF with benefits.
I would love the Bonbon to end up with Ileana. The girl deserves a good prize for putting up with Ara, Daffy, and Este all these years...listening to them whine and complain and blather on blah blah blah..poor me. She also was a shoulder for Dan to cry on. Maybe the other guy ...Chris?...will come back and realize what a catch she is...sane and sound.
I know that Isa will forgive Art,but she deserves someone so much better. I would like to see her end up with Fab . She deserves a good guy like Mau. Mau and Andrea have such a solid marriage because they love and support each other no matter what happens. As James Thurber said, "Love is what you have been through together." Art is so unworthy of the love and devotion that Isa has always shown both him and spoiled, petulant Ara. The best ending would have Isa riding off into the sunset on a motorcycle with one of those good hearted bikers leaving Art and Ara in the dust. Sayanora...I am done with the both of you.
I want to see Art end up with crazy , twitchy bitchy witch doctor. It would be poetic justice .
I also enjoyed everyone's comments. I must say that I am enjoying this show more than Robo right now. I am anxious to see what happens next and how the writers resolve all the issues that are up in the air right now.

Even though Dafne was an opportunist she still took a bullet for Esteban. I think she really does love him and it sickens me to think he'll dump her for Aranza. I'm with everyone else wishing he'd end up with Ileana.

This is one TN where I really don't want to see the main couple reconcile. Arturo deserves to end up alone and Marcela in jail. I don't want to see Gabi and Bruno together either. He needs to grow up and she deserves better. Still hoping for that "Island Life" for Gabi and Isabel.

Ok, Now Dafne. It has been said both in the novela and out of the novela that Dafne was or may have been trying to protect Esteban. I don't buy that for a minute. Most women would cling to their men [protectors] that is unless they were either a Karate or a Kung Fu expert, which Dafne was not. And even if she was, neither Karate or Kung Fu can defeat a bullet. No, Dafne was not protecting Este,
she was scared plain and simple. It was just her bad luck or the BonBon's good luck, whichever way you look at it---either bad timing for her or good timing for Este that Dafne jumped into his arms a second or two before the shot was fired. Will she still try to hold on to him by lying about her condition in the hospital? Yes probably. The BonBon is all that she has and will do whatever she can to keep him. I can't blame her for that.
I remember in the beginning of the novela Dafne was called the mean girl but how has "good girl" Aranza turned out I ask?

gringo, it has occurred to me The Duck didn't intend to stop a speeding bullet (I want to believe it) but the girl was right there not under a table. Had ABrat been there either she would use Esteban as a human shield (The Duck didn't) or be bitching right now there was grass stains on her pants. What got to me as she lay bleeding was telling him she loved him and from him crickets. Had ABrat been the one in his arms she would be asking how much he loved her and the bullet may have missed him but daddys gonna kill him.
I don't think The Duck a saint but never thought her bad to the bone, just a lonely little bully desperately wanting someone to love her. One thing that I forgot. I may be way out in left field but I've been thinking that the Witch Doctor might loose her medical license for false diagnosis and treatments. I would be willing to bet that Isabel will file a lawsuit against her for malpractice. She would easily win that one.

One more time---It has been said that Este said or did nothing after Dafne had been shot. Two things. #1 I think that Este was in shock at that moment. No he didn't yell don't die I love you but he did start yelling for an ambulance, remember?

I believe Sonia is really in love with Fabricio and the writers are setting it up as part of her Karmageddon (maybe I'm giving them too much credit?) - when he finds out the whole truth about her and his uncle - he'll be so totally disgusted with her that he'll turn his back on her when she's arrested for killing Eugenia and joining Ug-mo in all his dastardly deeds. If she's really in love with him her suffering will never end! Well, one can hope, right?
