De Que Te Quiero Te Quiero #48 and #49 5/13/14

De que algunos entienden mal, entienden mal

Mainly the main events sort of in order and mightily condensed.

Diana calls Britgitte (Brat) and asks if she's done the dirty deed. Brat asks Diana if she knew Diego was a rapist. Diana is Qué???? Brat nags about the 3 mil pesos ($232...hmmm. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.) Diana tells her she'll make the transfer, but Brat tells her she doesn't have a bank account. Diana tells her to get one.

The Doctor has finished his tests and informs Diego, Alina and Diana that her eating disorder is yet again rearing its ugly head. Diana needs to eat. She will have to stay in the hospital. Diana is not pleased with this news. Neither is Alina. She's ready to bail. This is too much for mommy. Alonso gets filled in, too. He'll runs some psychological tests. While Alonso is there he gets a call from Irene. They plan to meet in the hospital cafeteria.

Carmen calls Luz. She needs her cooking wisdom. There's a new fonda opening around the corner! Later the family brainstorms ways to beat the competition (Mireya is her name...which they finally mention near the end of the two hours): Special offers, new recipes, marimba players (?)

Diana's baby is in danger. She risks losing it if she doesn't eat.

Brat wonders what Diego could have possibly said for Natalia (Nat) to forgive him. She thinks Alberto must know and calls him. They plan to meet.

Padre sees Tiburicio and remembers him from the day before AND Tuxpan. He connects some mental dots and figures the man must have wanted to talk to him because of the time he visited Diana. Padre heads for Casa Caceres and asks to see Tiburicio. Tiburicio says he had wanted to talk to Padre because he had kind of gotten lax in his faith and had been having dreams in which he was told to get right with God. They make talk and figure out they're both from Yucatan. Padre from Tuxpan, Tiburicio from San Miguel. Tiburicio asks if the rumor is true that 20 years before a baby was left at the Tuxpan parrish. Padre confirms the story and even shows Tiburicio a picture of the now grown child. Tiburicio chokes when he realizes it's the same girl that was at Irene's office when he dropped off a laptop. After the Padre leaves, Tiburicio agonizes over what to do. Vicente (Grumps) has him pretty worried with the threats, but what sort of cosmic fate is it that the daughter is working with her own mother?

At Burger Rex, Mara apologizes for the night before. Paolo notices her arm is hurting and asks about it. About this time the cranky boss comes in and thinks Paolo is bothering her. She makes up a lame story about how she gets hurt and the boss tells her to see a doctor.

Irene and Alonso meet. She evades his kiss. She asks why he was bathing at Karina's and tells him about the conversation she and Diego had about Alonso's strange behavior. Alonso swears he didn't bathe at Karina's. He just went for coffee. Irene tells him that Diego said something about Alonso feeling like he had failed someone. Alonso tells her he loves her and tells her he felt he failed her for having coffee with another woman. Elena interrupts the conversation and she tells Irene how Tad is doing. Irene tells Alonso about Tad's condition. Alonso acts like an ass. Does't Tad have anyone else? He leaves in a jealous huff and Irene thinks he's acting like a boy. Later, Alonso berates himself for almost telling Irene about the kiss. He also thinks Tad is just manipulating Irene emotionally and he's not that sick.

Irene tells Tad they are moving back to Caprico. Tad tells her he can count on her.

Brat is with Alberto and asks how Diego and Nat can be together after what happened in Tuxpan. Alberto has some lines and Brat thinks he's either playing dumb or really doesn't know anything.

Diego visits Rodrigo. He talks to him about Diana's eating problems and the danger to the baby. He really wishes his brother was with him right now.

Two slutty girls show up at Carmen's fonda. Viewerville and even the blind see them for what they are: spies from the Jaiba Loca. Abdul just sees boobies. He spends the rest of the episode telling them anything they want to know. Shut up, Abdul!!!!

Grumps kvetches about Diana not eating and putting the baby at risk. Diego should be at home, by her side.

Diana refuses to eat. She won't eat until they let her go home. She calls Diego a rapist.

Grumps visits Rodrigo and tells him about his idiot brother who won't leave Natalia. Rodrigo has flashbacks and wrongfully concludes that Natalia is HIS woman and that Diego has betrayed him. Oy.

Diana is still calling Diego a rapist when Alonso shows up to do his "tests" (which turn out to be pretty lame: Rorshach tests and "draw me a picture." I really don't blame her for her sarcastic answers.) Diana agrees to the tests thinking she will get out of the hospital sooner. Diego and Alonso step out to talk. Diego tells him about Diana's "rapist" accusation. Alonso thinks it may be related to her eating disorder. Qué? I don't know, I think he said something about imbalance or hormones. Whatever.

Nat and Diego meet up at Caprico. They kiss openly in the hallway. Not cool or smart. Nat asks about Diana. Diego tells her about Diana calling him a rapist. Nat flashes back. She wonders if he could have tried to rape Diana and doesn't remember it. Oy. Part Deux.

Karina calls Alonso's office and speaks to the secretary. She wants to surprise him and asks if the secretary will let her in his office.

After her "tests" Diana asks Alonso if she's crazy. He'll need to look at his notes and make a more complete report.

Rodrigo wonders why Nat (his supposed woman) never came to see him.

Nat in her thinking place (the bathroom) wondering who the bleep she is involved with.

Diana calls Brat for more details about the rape. Brat says she really doesn't know much. A friend of Nat defended her and left "Diego" half dead. Diana connects the dots and realizes Nat didn't/doesn't know Diego has a twin and it was Rod who tried to rape her. Diana asks the nurse to take her to see Rodrigo.

Irene, Brat and Nat discuss that they need to hire more seamstresses and need a bigger space. Diego comes to check on things and Nat refuses his hugs. Brat notices. Diego and Irene go to talk to Grumps about the new hires and space. Irene asks about Nat's cold shoulder. Diego assumes Nat is getting a little tired of all his problems. They see Grumps. He approves the hires (3 seamstresses) and the new space (they will install AC in a wharehouse nearby.) After they leave, Grumps grouses. He hopes this won't cost him a ton of money.

Diana visits Rod. She tells him they are both in the hospital because of Diego and Natalia. She wants his help in separating them. He opens his eyes and tells her he will help. He wants revenge. Diana flips and no one believes her when she says he opened his eyes and talked. They end up having to sedate Diana.

Alonso reports to Diego that Diana didn't take the tests seriously. She's spoiled, impulsive and bitchy....but not pathological.

Chato calls Carmen. He's clearly at the other woman's house. Carmen puts him on speaker. Lupita asks about Town X, but Carmen said he's in Town Y. Clearly he told them two different towns. Andres has a thought bubble I didn't catch, but I assume it was along the lines of "What is up with Chato?" Wherever Chato is, someone on the side walk calls out and he's almost busted.

Nurse sees Rodrigo sweating again and says she needs to tell the Doctor or maybe Diego.

Paolo tells Mara that her injury does't look like it's the result of the accident she described. They go somewhere to talk. Though we don't hear all of the conversation, it's clear she tells him what really happened. Her mom hates men because her dad abandoned them. Paolo tells her it's not Mara's fault and it's no reason for her mom to abuse her like she is. Is there no other family member she could tell? She should report it. He will even go with her. Mara is afraid to say anything. They hug.

Back in her room, Diana tells herself she's not crazy. She saw Rodrigo and heard him. He's been fooling them all.

Alonso stops by Rod's room. The nurse says she's seen him sweating, but Alonso thinks that's normal and nothing to get excited about. After Alonso leaves the nurse begs Rod to make an effort and show some sign of life so the family doesn't pull the plug. He wakes up and grabs her and covers her mouth to keep her from screaming.

Tadeo's tomor is responding to the meds and hasn't grown. The doctor thinks radiation therapy is the best course of action. Irene asks Tadeo not to give up. He agrees to the radiation therapy. He will do it for her.

Rod tells the nurse he can only trust her and asks her to help him. He wants he to keep his secret about being awake. He lays a kiss on her to shut her up.

Tadeo asks Irene to manage his money. Irene will think about it.

Rodrigo tells the nurse about his brother stealing his girlfriend and putting him in a coma. He has to get stronger. He begs the nurse not to say anything.

Karina puts a bunch of balloons and hearts in Alonso's office because apparently she's still in middle school. Alonso does not like his surprise.

Diego comes to the fonda where Natalia and Brat are having lunch. Natalia is still cool and Carmen notices. She asks Natalia about it. Natalia brushes it off. She can't tell her mother she is doubting Diego.

Rodrigo says his family has money and could be very generous. She agrees to help because she thinks so highly of him. She goes off to get him food.

Avances

  • Diego has an engagement ring.
  • Secrets explode.

Oh boy the two hour episodes are killers to recap!

Yes Sara they are long and you did a great job. While things might be frustrating, by and large the plot is moving forward.

Rod's read on how he got in the hospital is so insane it would be funny if he wasn't a rapacious potentially murderous thug. I dread him going and attacking Nat again since no one will tell her about Diego's twin and the only one who knows is Diana.

Alonso is an idiot and deserves to have crazy Karina stalking him after kissing her. He knew she liked him and yet wanted revenge on the love of his life.

Did anyone else think Chato could be the bum that messed over Mara's mom? It's clear he has another family he's hiding from Carmen.

Two hours and no El. Not good writers, not good.

Carmen Becerra is in the house. Anyone remember Sara from QE? She is playing Mireya "La Jaiba Loca" Zamudio here LOL. She was also Adriana in Zacatillo which you guys would have fun with (Chef Hawt/Elias from PEAM was the alpha male star and our beloved ShutUpDoris/Minnie from QPTR was the protagonist as well.)

"Rod's read on how he got in the hospital is so insane it would be funny if he wasn't a rapacious potentially murderous thug."

BINGO! And now that Diana knows about Rod, things are going to get ugly. I sort of hope it breaks the alliance she has with Brat. For Carmen's sake I am hoping Brat is redeemable.

Corazon: Thanks for the info on Carme Becerra. I've heard great things about QE and I really need to see it. Uni reran Zacatillo in the midnight slot soon after Amorcito Corazon and I told myself I was going to watch it because it's also a Lucero Suarez production, but I never got around to it. That makes two shows I need to see.

Zacatillo had a great cast

-Paty Navidad
-Laura Zapata
-Arath de la Torre
-Mariana Karr
-Agustin Arana
-Flaco Ibanez (as Profundo Isimo LOL)
-Jose Carlos Femat (Andres in this one and one who is overall Sex on Legs as a male stripper)

My all-time favorite part was when Mariana Karr (her character's name is Rosa and she was Carmen Becerra's mother) hurdled an ice cream truck towards Miriam (Laura's character)

I love Mariana Karr! I will have to get the Dvd and watch it this summer. I'm kicking myself for not watching it when Uni showed it at midnight.

"Two slutty girls show up at Carmen's fonda. Viewerville and even the blind see them for what they are: spies from the Jaiba Loca. Abdul just sees boobies. He spends the rest of the episode telling them anything they want to know. Shut up, Abdul!!!!"

Ah, Sara, you know how to tell it like it is! Love that pithy description of more skullduggery afoot in this.

Also Alonso's (or yours) description of Diana..."spoiled, impulsive and bitchy but not pathological".

Maybe not. But Rodrigo definitely is! Yikes.

Karen, I too thought Chato might be responsible for setting off that horrendous mother (we have to give her some credit for the pathology since Carmen isn't that way).

And WHINE WHINE...yes, no Eleazar. And he's the reason I'm watching this (in addition to the witty, irreverent recappers)

Thanks m'dear. I remember miserable two-hour recaps for Dinero and IT WAS NOT FUN. But reading this was delightful. Thanks.

I've grown on this habit where I realize which novella is on at that hour but don't turn in until the last few episodes. That's how I realized how good Mar de Amor was (the wedding at the end was gorgeous and Ninel Conde going crazy was a hoot)

I saw Zacatillo which got me by the theme song (I've noticed that usually Lucero Suarez shows get either daytimed or afternooned AND double-houred!)

I automatically LOVED Ni Contigo Ni Sin Ti for a number of reasons
-I love MaPat novelas
-Eduardo Santamarina is easy on the eyes (uyy especially in Juan Querendon)
-I loved Laura Carmine's led protagonist character Nicole (she was a smart cookie in that one and when she won best revelation in the premios, it redeemed the choice of Sandra Echavarria as best femme lead. Plus, gurl had a sweet spot for the novella Amor Real which was shown in it briefly.)

Now Amorcito Corazon is being shown and from when it was first on and the little girl had a magic wand, I KNEW I had to see it but never got to. (Laura's award also redeemed the awful choice of not nominating Elizabeth Alvarez's character for major protagonica)

Now UFCS is going to end and I wonder what will replace it.

Thanks Sara! Didn't get to see this epi, but boy, the writers sure are gearing up to make Rod the big baddie. Yipes!

Not happy that Alonso is being so jealous and childish, especially now that he knows Tad is sick. I have hope that he'll snap out of it really soon.

Looking forward to seeing "Sara" from Querida Enemiga when I finally watch. She also played a small role as a bad girl in Amorcito and got a tough lesson from the real crazy villainess to back off "her" man.

Oh I remember that character! Wow. I didn't even recognize her here.

Judy, Carmen has a great disposition for a woman not made good choices with men. The new wrinkle w/Chato and his other life just makes his character hideous.

Corazon thanks for the info on CB and other LS tns. AC is on at 1 am and I highly recommend it as most of us here really enjoyed it!

Sara, I do so appreciate your spending 2 hrs of your time to watch + time to recap this. I'm glad it's a good novela at least.

I'm looking forward to Juan Diego's portrayal of Rodrigo to see his acting abilities. No better role than a villain.

I've not seen JDC as a villain and honestly I wasn't impressed during the beginning of this, but everyone has said he was good as a villain in Amor Bravio so I am withholding judgement for a little longer.

Sara, thought this was savvy and sensational. I can only imagine how trying recapping a two hour show must be.

"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", "Shut up, Abdul!!!!", "Diego visits Rodrigo. He talks to him about Diana's eating problems and the danger to the baby. He really wishes his brother was with him right now" were my favorites. The incredulity of Diego wanting Rod around aside of course. Sigh.

Love Paolo. Poor, poor Mara. Those bruises looked all too real. Karen, I hope Chato wasn't the one who hurt Mother!

Oh Karen, your "Rod's read on how he got in the hospital is so insane it would be funny if he wasn't a rapacious potentially murderous thug" said it all! As if his twisted thought process wasn't hideous enough, he now thinks Diego stole the love of his life. I am so not looking forward to his "resurrection". And the fact Diana and Brig are in possession of the convoluted facts of the "attack" make things even more disturbing.

Of course, it's absurd to think Nat still doesn't know of Rod's existence.

Like Judy, was missing El whose presence always seems to make things better.

CS, I did not recognize Carmen Becerra! I remember QE very well with Chef Hawt and the luscious Gabe Soto as the unfaithful doctor.

Sara, I also hope Brig will be redeemed for her mother's sake as you noted.

Thanks again for the excellent recap.

Diana

It's incredible that we are almost 50 episodes in and Nat doesn't know about Rod. Right on, Diana. If they are so in love how can they not share basic info? I've said before that I can't believe he hasn't talked to the love of his life about the agony of having to decide to take a loved one off life support.

Juan Diego played a slimy asshole with greasy hair in Amor Bravio. He knocked up the innocent young daughter of the villain, refused to take responsibility for the baby/baby momma until threatened/bribed by the villain. The young daughter exposed him in front of the town & went into hiding and he left town in shame, with nothing more than a fancy watch & a liquor bottle.

You can tell the difference between Diego & Rodrigo because Diego has fluffy hair and Rodrigo has greasy hair.

The Caceres don't know Rodrigo is evil or an attempted rapist. Diego doesn't know what happened between Rod and Natalia so why would he not want his twin around? He just thinks his twin is a prankster. The only Caceres who knows Rod is off is Diana and who's going to believe her?

It seems that Diego SHOULD have a picture of Rodrigo in his office, but maybe it was too painful for him to look at.

At the same time, Natalia should be telling Diego about how "he" tried to rape her.

Both of them are keeping things from each other.

I am seeing a pending twin cliche. Rod will probably leave the hospital as Diego, ¡Por favor, noooo!

Then again, I just thought of something: Diego just might have a picture of Rodrigo in his office, but unless it was a picture of him and Rodrigo together, Natalia would just think it's a picture of him. LOL

Karina is really dumb, for real. Even if Alonso were into her, plastering his office with lovey dovey post it notes is unacceptable behavior past the age of 10.

I was walking home and the terms "Social Butterfly and Wallflowers" came into my mind. It makes me wanna write a novela about twins but it is to break the norm. Yes one of the twins is a social butterfly and popular but she never really wanted any of that. She wanted a calm, quiet life. The wallflower twin obviously has a quiet life but she longs for someone to talk with (she loves her family but wants to find love as per novela and keep her circle small still.) One day, they decide to switch and to avoid plotholes, they both have the same level of intelligence so switching places in school and taking tests or doing homework for each other isn't voided or immoral.

I wonder what exactly to name the girls however. I know the title will be, "De Mariposas Sociales y Flores de Pared."

Gracias, Sara! Excellent recap of a jam-packed episode! Abdul and the boobies--I was shouting at the screen for him to shut up, too :D
