Lo Que La Vida Me Robo 127 - 5/8/2014 - Laurito Wants To Be The Red Headed Step-Child

Carlota and Montserrat Discuss Laurito’s Daddy Issues

•    Montserrat and Tia Carlotta speak of how Montse has tried to give Laurito a “picture” of his real father, Alejandro. Montse smiles as she remembers Ale changing Lauro’s diapers and holding him, way back in the day. This was, of course, after Ale rejected to kid as the bastard son of Jose Luis Alvarez, but it seems Montse only wants to remember the good times with her MIA husband.
•    Ever since Laurito started school Montserrat has put a picture of Alejandro in Lauro's backpack so his father could be with him all the time. I suspect this is so that if Alejandro makes a miraculous return Laurito will recognize him instantly.
•    Montserrat wants Lauro to always love Alejandro, particularly after Little Lauro becomes Jose Luis’ redheaded stepchild.
•    Carlotta proffers her usual brand of astute Pollyanna analysis. She thinks Lauro and his not-really-dead-dad Ale will always have a special bond.
•    Carlota says that a photo cannot make up for the hands-on love that Little Lauro needs. Montse cannot deny that to the child.

Jose Luis And Basurto Agree To Make a Convicted Felon The New Chief of Police

•    José-Luis concludes his deal with EZ Basurto. JL will be appointed the new Chief of Police in Aguazul. I wonder if he will have to wear that same kind of tacky laminated name badge around his neck that EZ sported when he was on the job? It could wrinkle his stylish new Italian suit. Huh.

•    These two men who are about to be in-laws and colleagues do not appear to trust one another. This could make for some, ahem, awkward formal meals with the extended Mendoza-Basurto-Alvarez family.
•    EZ makes clears that JL, as Chief of Police, will be working under Mayor EZ’s orders.
•    JL gives a grim grin when he sarcastically agrees that, of course, EZ’s orders are always be under the law.
•    The men shake hands as they trade manly powerful and challenging glances.

Montserrat Admits To Carlota That She Did Something Really Stupid

•    Montserrat muses that she cannot believe that Alejandro didn’t just hide from vengeful Pedro for a few days, and reunite with his family before he got on that ill-fated plane ride. That way they would all be fake-dead.
•    Montserrat tells her Tia that she went to the beach, put her wedding ring and engagement rings in a bottle and threw them out into sea. This was a gesture she made to say goodbye to Alejandro.
•    Now she tells Carlota wants the rings back. Fat chance of that says Carlota.
•    And your recapper says, “WELL YEAH, Montse!” Everyone on the Patio figures that when nouveau riche Alejandro bought Montserrat as his bride, he would have had investment quality stones set in that wedding set. Plus have you seen the price of platinum these days? Those jewels might just cover Lauro’s costs for a semester or two at a decent University.

Cute Little Barrio in Buenos Aires, Argentina

•    Nadia and Victor are in agony over Victoria’s kidnapping. So are we, dear readers, and I will not dwell on this offensive plotline.
•    Victor feels bad for telling Ale yesterday to be patient about reuniting with his child.
•    The three plane wreck survivors need fake documents to get them on a fast plane back to Aguazul, and since they have no money, Ale decides to ask Josefina for the cash. He does not think that Josefina would betray them.
•    They both wonder that Josefina hasn’t called yet. Why? Nadia has her number.
•    Ale supposes it could take Josefina a while to find Rosario and Lauro. They could be anywhere after all of these years. Josefina doesn’t even know yet that Ale has awakened from his coma and is now bionic boy.
•    Victor heads out to procure fake docs for the three travelers. That cute neighborhood in Buenos Aires surely must have a conveniently located Forgers-R-US.

Monica and Dimitrio Make Out At Work

•    Monica and Dimitrio engage in a little forbidden flirtation at work. They kiss and Refugio barges in on them.
•    Monica tells Refu that she and Dimmy are starting a relationship. As their friend, she asks for his discretion.
•    Refu salutes but reminds them to respect the office. Dimitrio immediately senses that Refugio is jealous of him and that things may not be going so great at home with Esmeralda.

Josefina In The Mendoza Garden

•    Josefina, who is waiting for Carlota in the garden, starts to make a call on her mobile phone but is interrupted by kind Manuela bringing her coffee. The two trade compliments about how neither woman has aged a day since the time jump. Manuela asks Jose where she has been all this time.
•    Josefa says that she traveled the world and helped lots of people. She asks Manuela if she knows where she can find Laurito and Rosario. Manuela says yes, that Lauro is living with his grandma Rosario and she has their details in her address book in the kitchen.
•    As Josefa and Manuela go inside the Mendoza-Basurto abode, Graciela happens upon Josefina’s ringing cellphone. She left it on the garden table when she went inside.
•    Nadia is calling and when Graciela answers in her distinct raspy basso voice Nadia hangs up, not knowing what to say.
•    Graciela steals Josefa’s cellphone as Josefa gracefully passes her by. Gracie refuses to admit that Josefina looks beautiful in her bright red chiffon silk over crepe trouser suit.

Back In Argentina

•    Nadia and Ale try to call Josefa again, and again, they get no answer. Ale thinks Josefa has turned off her phone. Nadia is panicked that Doña Graciela recognized her voice. Ale and Nadia bond over how worried they are about their children and Alejandro holds her as she sobs.

Graciela Stews In Her Own Juices

•    Graciela tries to work out how Nadia could be alive. Could Alejandro, too, be alive after all these years? Graciela is determined to find out just what is going on.

Refugio Comes Home In A Writ Of Fealous Jage

•    JL is visiting the Solares home when Refu comes home in a very bad mood. He and Esme fuss and fight but JL tells them to stop their bickering because he came today with good news. He and Montserrat are getting married—soon. A short moment of happiness in enjoyed by all.
•    After Jose Luis leaves Refu and Esme bicker again. She doesn’t think he wants to be with her and she feels very alone.
•    Refu announces that he is a fool and asks Esme to give him another chance. She agrees and he embraces her.

Mendoza-Basurto Mansion

•    Best friends Rosario and Carlota talk about how hard it is for Rosario that Montserrat has agreed t marry JL. Both agree, however, that Little Lauro is very happy at this development.
•    Rosario tells her best friend that she cannot come to terms with the death of her son. There is a hole in her heart that nothing can fill. Plus she cannot shake the feeling that he is still alive!
•    Montserrat tells her mother-in-law that she loves her to the end of the universe and back. A very sweet moment.

Jose Luis Speaks With Admiral Robles

•    JL tells Robles that he made EZ Basurto an offer he couldn’t refuse—JL will now be appointed Chief of Police of Aguazul.
•    Robles agrees that although EZ and Pedro Medina may be accomplices, it is very dangerous for JL to implement this tactic to take Medina DOWN. JL says it’s the only way.
•    Montserrat overhears this and asks if JL can go back to the Navy. JL says no; he was convicted of a very serious crime. Montserrat thinks they could straighten things our if JL and she admitted the truth—JL confessed to the crime to get Ale out of jail.
•    JL just wants to protect Laurito. Ale has been accused of lots of bad behavior including murdering his own father. JL does not think it is too late to clear Alejandro’s name. He has asked EZ Basurto to name him chief of police. He will get to the bottom of this. He wants Lauro to be able to feel very proud of his Dad.

Nadia Suffers and Prays for Little Victoria

•    But at the Medina home, Pedro asks the child Victoria if she understands all that he just told her.
•    She insists he is not her father. He explains that he IS her father and that she will not see her mother Nadia again if she does not obey him. Nadia will have to leave everything to come back to them and he, Pedro will have to get rid of a woman who has taken very good care of him while she and her mommy Nadia were away from Pedro.
•    Pedro you are an eunuch bastard dirtbag to toy with a child thus.
•    Amalia, sister you should watch your back.

Josefina The Spy

•    Josefa has the address given to her by Manuela and she sneaks around the outside garden trying to peer inside.
•    She sees Lauro playing on his swing with Montserrat before dinner.
•    Montserrat is alive!
•    Another offensive wart-and-mole removal commercial is shown. Maybe the writers will give Pedro Medina a bad case of unsightly warts and moles in order to catch some ad dollars from the product placement. ‘Verrugas’. Now there is a word I use in my everyday Spanish conversations. These thoughts cheer me enormously.
•    I can imagine a pleasant conversation as I am out walking my imaginary dog. I see a Spanish speaking dog lover walking their beloved canine companion and I comment in perfect colloquial Spanish, “HI. Your dog is so handsome. May I pet him? Does he have any wants or moles?”
•    Back to Josefa, she also sees Jose Luis come along and play with Lauro.
•    But Graciela catches her in Josefa at her spying activity.

Pedro Gives Victoria the Low Down

•    Pedro tells the child Victoria that it is time to go to bed. Tomorrow she must meet Amalia and she must be on her best behavior. However, Amalia should not get too attached to Amalia, because as soon a Mommy Nadia returns, Amalia will have to go.
•    Victoria asks again for her Daddy and Pedro gets angry kicks the bed and tells Victoria not to start that nonsense again. He is her real father. He has missed Nadia and Victoria very much.
•    Pedro tells her that her Mommy will, indeed, come for her soon, gives the child a sleeping pill, tucks her in and locks her door from the outside. The child prays to her guardian angels to have her [parents come rescue her.
•    Beast!

Graciela Wants A Word With Josefa

•    Josefa is stunned to realize that although Montserrat was shot she is still alive.
•    Graciela tells Josefa that Nadia called her this morning and told her that Josefina was coming to Aguazul to look for Rosario.
•    Gracie won’t let her talk to Montserrat until they have a conversation.

Laurito Wants His New Dad Right Now

•    Lauro wants JL to take him to school in the morning and JL promises that after he and Montserrat are married he will take Lauro to school anytime he asks.
•    Laurito wants his Mom to marry Jose Luis tomorrow, in a church ceremony!
•    As Rosario grants her reluctant approval for the union, Montserrat and JL agree to marry in one month.

Pedro Tells Amalia About Victoria

•    Pedro tells Amalia that he found out that Nadia and his daughter are alive. The child’s name is Victoria. Amalia reminds Pedro that when Nadia fled Aguazul seven years ago, Pedro did not know if the baby was even his!
•    Pedro insists that the child is his. (Legally this is almost certainly true). This of course, begs the question of just what kind of deal Pedro and Amalia have in their marriage? If Pedro has no parts, and Amalia believes him when he says that the child could be biologically his, then Amalia has never seen her husband naked.
•    Perhaps Pedro convinced Amalia that he had some sperm frozen before the accident? Call me confused, amigos.
•    Pedro shows Amalia the sleeping Victoria and Amalia reflexively covers the child with another blanket.

Back in Buenos Aires

•    Nadia has been given a sedative and Victor and Ale wrangle over the cost of the false passports they need to return to Mexico. Ale wants to leave now but he price triples if they want the passports in less than a week. They need to contact Josefina for financial help and cannot reach her.
•    Victor remembers that Nadia has not yet been paid for the concert yet, and he will get the payment first thing tomorrow so that he can get the passports ASAP.

Josefina Chats With Graciela

•    Josefina has taken her former Mother-in-law back to her new mansion. She had her lawyers buy it after Tomas died. She was born in Aguazul, her parents are buried there, and it has been her home.
•    Josefina asks Graciela what she told Nadia on the phone. Gracie opens her mouth to speak so we automatically know that she lies when she says that Nadia told her to contact Josefa.
•    Josefa doesn’t believe and wants to call her but, surprise, surprise, she cannot locate her cellular. Nadia’s number was in the phone and she did not have it written down anywhere!
•    Graciela, who actually has the cell phone in her purse, tells Josefina another lie—when Nadia called her, she gave her number to Graciela. She is sure that she has it written down at home somewhere.
•    Josefina says she was shocked to see Montse alive. Graciela and Jose Luis Alvarez saved Montserrat’s life.
•    Is Josefina is in Aguazul on some business of Alejandro’s? Is Alejandro alive?
•    Josefina has no poker face and Graciela reads her hand like a dealer in a Vegas Casino. She grocks that, Yes, Alejandro Almonte is alive.

A Very Good Evening to All of You:

I am happy to be back to recapping after having Eli kindly sub for me last week.

On a personal note Mr. June and I are having a 'conscious uncoupling' with about half of our possessions, or as I prefer to call them, 'nouns'. No, no! We are not getting a divorce, we are divorcing our oh-so-many-weighty possessions!

I enter a three day silence retreat in the morning so I will not be able to enjoy our usual commenting repartee tomorrow. Please know that your comments are always deeply appreciated. I am sure things will be more balanced in a few weeks and I will back to chatting with everyone regularly.

Thank to all for your kind messages of support during my time of moving.

Hasta la vista,

Elna June

DangJosefina is estupida!she might be more graceful but she still does costly mistakes..Why the heck did she talk to Gracie, you know the person you just dont wanna talk to in this situation and was your suegra from Demonio? She could have atleast made up some good lie. And to add to the insult ,she forgets her freaking phone ??

Okay so Pedo is also a child abuser, more of his great crimes to add to the list! I shudder at the thought of SS selling candies with the scorpion pendant on,kids say NO to Pedo and Drugs! Maybe he can make a fortune selling sperm coctails!

Great, Elna June. I hope that everything goes smoothly with divesting yourself of stuff. It's never an easy thing.

Of course we know that Gracie's realization that Alejandro is alive is not a good thing and will draw out this situation even longer. She doesn't yet know that Alejandro is awake and appears to be well, so I'm hoping that when she finally finds out she breaks whatever promise Gracie is going to force her into. Or that Josefina confronts her. She could also decide to approach Dimitrio with this, but I'm not sure she will in view of her issues with him.

Obviously Pedro is looking to force Nadia to return to Mexico but I wonder what his plans are for Amelia. What he is doing right now is not only cruel to the child and to Nadia it's cruel to Amelia, who probably still feels the void left by Angelica's death. Rosario's line about there being no specific word to describe a mother who has lost a child also applies to her.

As to the sexless marriage, I wonder whether Amelia lost her sex drive due to her discovery of Joaquin's secret life (resulting in depression) and also because she is likely to be menopausal. Some women are also willing to trade sex -- or lack of it -- for status and money. She didn't need money, so the status of being the First Lady of their state was probably the motivator.

Thank you for the recap,EJ, I will finish reading later when I can savor it!
The up side of moving is you can use it to get rid of clutter, it can be freeing.
Thank you, Julia for yesterday's recap and Gloria for the day before, short on time this week, but I read them and enjoyed them!

I think we knew Josefina would not be Stealth Josefina, she is too honest to be a good liar.

Thanks so much Elna June. How wise to be able to divest yourself of the wretched excess we all manage to accumulate over the years. The Simple Life awaits. I do remember that I was just as happy, decades ago, with some books, a desk, a bed, a record player and an electric skillet. Why did I feel the need to accumulate so much else?

The men shake hands as they trade manly powerful and challenging glances.

Ah, those manly, powerful glances. A staple of these telenovelas. And saves a few minutes of dialogue too.

And your recapper says "WELL YEAH, Montse!" Absolutely the dumbest and most unbelievable part of this story.

And loved your characterization of Alejandro as "bionic boy". Indeed.

Haven't seen this yet, but will look forward to watching it later. And I envy you your three-day retreat. A wise choice in the midst of all this moving upheaval.

Elna June: A lyyrical, finely tuned masterpiece.

"Montserrat wants Lauro to always love Alejandro, particularly after Little Lauro becomes Jose Luis’ redheaded stepchild" and " Carlotta proffers her usual brand of astute Pollyanna analysis" were among my favorites.

"Refu announces that he is a fool". Yes, he certainly is. I will not devote another minute to his jealousy over another woman when he has the marvelous Esme. Hoping he really intends to do what he says. Esme deserves so much better.

"Nadia and Victor are in agony over Victoria’s kidnapping. So are we, dear readers, and I will not dwell on this offensive plotline". Thank you EJ. We share your pain at this unholy development.

I am far from disenchanted with JL: “JL does not think it is too late to clear Alejandro’s name… He wants Lauro to be able to feel very proud of his Dad”. An admirable sentiment from a fine man. My heart sinks however as I know once again the fates are converging and that between Ale’s return and his new position, I sadly suspect things cannot end well for him.

And “Pedro will have to get rid of a woman who has taken very good care of him”. I shivered reading these words. Amelia does not deserve such a cruel fate after what she has endured and Virginia cannot be left alone in the world. She lost her beloved sister and father and losing her mother would be unbearable. Even the marvelous Pru would likely not be able to help her overcome yet such another tragic loss.

I'm not surprised that Fina has been masterfully manipulated by Graciela. I mean, who hasn't?? I had hoped she would put two and two together and realize Gracie had her phone but alas. Her not having Nadia's number is but another ember on this stoking fire.

As you noted Emarie: "I think we knew Josefina would not be Stealth Josefina, she is too honest to be a good liar". Yes, one of the reasons we love the character so much.

Elna June, wishing you peace on your retreat. Thank you so much for doing this with so much going on. The best of luck in your 'conscious uncoupling' of your posessions.

Diana

Elna June, thanks for the wonderful recap. "And your recapper says 'WELL YEAH, Montse!' " was my favorite line that said it all.

I had a real hard time with Graciela just happening to find Josefina's phone when Nadia just happened to be calling as well as Josefina being tracked as if by a bloodhound by Graciela to the gate next to the swing set. Then Josefina not waiting to get Nadia's supposed phone number from Graciela the next day but just believing her and spilling the beans. Did she not remember her previous experiences with Graciela? Also who leaves their cellphone unattended? Who would have something as important as a contact number only on a phone and not memorized or copied in another place? I am not real happy with the new Josefina because she is acting more and more like the old bumbling Josefina. I hope she doesn't end up with "Adolfito" as she used to call him, but she night deserve him at this point.

As for Pedro, the only surprise from him was that he wants Nadia back to torment and that Amelia will have to go at that point.

If the writers could just get beyond so many stupid coincidences, this could be more enjoyable!

Jarifa

EJ, such a wonderful recap to remind us all how much we miss you!! I remember my last "conscious uncoupling" when moving from a three story house to a two bedroom apartment ( spacious, but still). Enjoy your retreat, take it easy and I'm sending positive vibes that all runs smooth the next few weeks.

Not one of my favorite episodes last night. Turned off the horrid scenes with Pedo and Victoria. I just couldn't...and may he rot in the deepest pits of hell for what he is doing to that child. The absolute worst kind of villain, and coward.

Fina, in seven years, our dear girl never learned to work on that ability to make a poker face. But the whole cell phone thing...how do these people not remember they don't have it or where they put it in these shows? Plot device.

OK - wedding is pushed out for 30 days, which mean Ale has 30 days to make his pretty self known to Monse. How many episodes do we have left? Maybe we are working up to the wedding as the Ultimates and last week?

Daisynjay

Daisynay, for Pedo not even hell is good enough:) I just hope his anvil will be majestic, every chapter we get to see more and more of Pedos evilness. He is capable of anything. I hope they are unique with his anvil,Araon(Destilando Amor)got executed on an island,Damian( Manana Es Para Siempre) got beaten up to death. In La Otra his character got shot to death by a safe.I wonder what will they do with Pedo since its his most evil role yet

I agree Demetrios. Is it wrong of me to say I can't wait to see what justice is done to that sorry excuse for a human being? Too bad this isn't the year 1013 because a cauldron of boiling oil might be clever. Writers better out do themselves.

I need to hug a kitty or puppy and become a good person again.

Daisynjay

Dear Elna June,

I was so happy to read your recap this morning! I agree with Daisynjay that it reminded me of how much I have missed your own signature combination of style, wit, and wisdom. I wish you the best as you go the process of moving to your new place. And what a great thing to do to have a period of silence, too in the midst of all the stress.

Loved the recap! It was all wonderful, but your description/reaction to the scene with Pedro and Victoria was my favorite moment:

• Pedro you are an eunuch bastard dirtbag to toy with a child thus.
• Amalia, sister you should watch your back.

Does Pedro really think Amalia is just going to walk away without complaint?

Re Pedro's anvil, I have my fantasy, too, and always thought that it must involve PUBLIC SHAME in addition to PHYSICAL SUFFERING.

I've mentioned this before, but I think it needs to be revealed at some large political or social event filled with dignitaries and celebrities that he is missing his avocados. This is what I think he fears most. If this were real life, Nadia would have used this information much sooner against him, but since it's not we have to wait for the moment.

Thanks, again, Elna June, and best to you and everyone!

Thanks for yet another very clever recap, Elna June. I hope things are settled nicely for you before too long. It sounds to me like you and Mr. June are coping very well and with good humor. What wine goes well with moving? Once again... good luck.

Well, of course the scenes between little Vicky and Pedro were very painful and disturbing, but I always view such scenes between the evil adult and the innocent child as awe inspiring. Just imagine the amount of trust and warmth there must be between the two of them to successful portray such a horrid scene. I managed to get though that last night by imagining the big hug that Sergio Sendel and Ana Paula Martínez shared as soon as the director shouted "Cut!"

Carlos

Julia, I like that. He's not only missing the avocados, he's also lacking the tamale. You can compensate for the first but not the second.

I'm imagining a confrontation between Nadia and Amelia about this.

Thank you for a wonderful recap of a truly dreadful episode!

So now I understand Pedro's plan is to get Nadia back and what? kill off Amelia or claim their marriage was invalid? Sick beast. And in the avances Victor is stabbed so I guess Pedro is trying to kill him off!

And now Graciela is close to knowing the whole truth! Again another awful development.

The story line needs to improve quickly because this is awful.

The storyline wont improve, this telenovelas "specialty" is being dark and twisted. The dark atmosphere wont lift up until FIN.. And this novela is nothing if you compare it to Camelia De Texicana, you have a main character( Camelia) killing people, even her first galan. How isnt that dark? Or if you look at El Senor De Cielos.

Camelia La Texana*
El Senor de los Cielos*
Sorry for random typos,i wish we could edit our comments here:(

Will Graciela kill Josefina? We know she is capable of murder.

Please dont,i hope that doesnt happen! Josefina plays a major part in the Dim storyline. And the ratings could flop dramatically.Atleast the villians and Josefina make this novela enjoyable to watch for me,otherwise i would be quitting watching long ago, they are the only things that keeps me from quiting Ezequel " God of Mierda" ,Fab the grifter,Sandho The Salser,Pedo the hidden bastardo of Dolfy( He had one ball,Pedo has none, sounds familiar?,he also has a moustache!!) ,Gracie the "Shameless One",Malaria the Skank and Juvie "the Cancereous One".

They are who make the show what it is,dark but very exciting.

Thanks so much , EJ, for this excellent retelling of a disturbing episode. I had to turn the TV off when Ped was terrorizing poor Victoria. I worried about the little actress and the effect this scary scene could have on her. I cannot watch children being abused or frightened.

As for your move, EJ, you are in my thoughts and I continue to send good vibrations your way for finding the perfect new nest and a smooth transition ))))))). You gave me a smile when I read that you were "uncoupling, from your "nouns." Hub and I built this house two years after we got married, and the mere thought of all the nouns that we have accumulated gives me a headache. Best wishes. I have never been on a retreat, silent or otherwise...unless you count Sunday afternoons when hub plays golf and I am alone in the house.

Pedro's anvil should obviously be marrying Minerva from QPTR and having her and Isela constantly commenting on his huevos.

Carlos: I think I saw Maria shooting a gun in the avances. Who she is trying to kill now, who knows, but I thought you would be happy! :)

Anonymous 11:48: excellent idea.

Jarifa

Here is the TN lineup for Univision for 2014-2015. Silvia Navarro's starts later this year.

“La Gata” – This telenovela follows the story of Esmeralda, a young woman who lives in the poor neighborhood of La Barranca, a place where many, like her, live in abject poverty without the protection and love of a family; a place where she is exploited by the person raising her and has little to look forward to in life. But there is hope. Esmeralda becomes friends with a young man from a good family and, with time, they fall in love – a love that has to remain hidden from the young man’s family, a love that is threatened to be destroyed by lies and deception. This telenovela features Maite Perroni and Daniel Arenas, and is produced by Nathalie Lartilleux. (Monday – Friday, Primetime, Televisa) – June 2014

“La Malquerida” (The Bad Mistress) – This is the story of Acacia, a young girl whose father is killed in a terrible accident. The loss of her father is further complicated when her mother, Maria, discovers their “hacienda” (family estate) is in debt. Esteban, a handsome and capable employee, asks Maria to accept his help in saving the estate. Esteban and Maria’s working relationship becomes one of mutual love. All seems well, except for one thing: Acacia cannot accept her mother’s new love, and as she develops into a beautiful young woman, Esteban discovers he carries a secret passion for her, as well. This love-triangle features Victoria Ruffo, Ariadne Diaz, Cristian Meier, and is produced by Jose Alberto Castro. (Monday – Friday, Primetime, Televisa)
“Hasta el Fin del Mundo” (Until the End of Time) – This is the intricate tale of Sofia, the oldest of three sisters, who takes the helm of her family’s chocolate factory after her father’s death. Engaged to a man who is ambitious and using her as a stepping stone, she feels an immediate and mutual attraction to Salvador, a race-car driver who, due to some unfortunate circumstances, is working as her chauffeur. Sofia and Salvador never tire of demonstrating that despite the hurdles, love is possible. The telenovela stars Marjorie De Sousa, international singing sensation Pedro Fernandez, Julian Gil and Claudia Alvarez, and is produced by Nicandro Diaz. (Monday – Friday, Primetime, Televisa)

“Mi Corazón es Tuyo” (My Heart is Yours) – Life’s journey hasn’t been easy for Ana who works as an exotic dancer in a club and has just lost the home she struggled to own. She knows she has to start over. Through a clerical error at an employment agency, Ana finds herself applying for the job of “nanny” to a wealthy widower, Fernando, with seven difficult children. Somehow, without credentials or a cultured background, Ana manages to charm the children and help in the recovery process from the loss of their mother. Meanwhile, Fernando pursues a woman with a suitable pedigree, but it becomes increasingly obvious that he is smitten with Ana and she is smitten with him. Featuring Silvia Navarro, Jorge Salinas, Mayrín Villanueva, and is produced by Juan Osorio. (Monday – Friday, Primetime, Televisa)

If you want to read about the rest of their programming here is the article. Sorry I don’t know how to post as a link:

Nanette

Thanks Nanette! After the debacle that was Corazon Indomable, I think I'll be skipping La Gata. Though I do love Daniel Arenas' hair!!

Thanks Nanette!! I am so in with the Silvia TN. Even the premise sounds interesting...I can so see her with all those kiddies. And Jorge as the galan? I'm good.

But Ruffo and Diaz fighting for the same guy? Ah,....pass.

Have to see on the other two.

I just want Karyme Lozano's and Cristian de la Fuente's novela.
Ariadne Diaz had such a good role in La Mujer Del Vendaval (which was mostly a good novela). I'd hate to see her get another weak role. I like CM, but oy, VR.

Christian Meier is going to have a lot of deja vu over that since he was the galan in Dona Barbara.

I'm in for Jorge and Silvia any day.

Carvivlie,

I saw that same thing ("... Maria shooting a gun in the avances.")

But she seemed rather shaky holding that gun in that brief glimpse we were given. María had been portrayed earlier as a trained pistolera so I was a bit confused but nevertheless glad to see her back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this time she is pointing it at someone more deserving of being shot at... say Pedro, or Zeke, or even Adolfo. Perhaps Gracie? Nah, that'd be asking for too much.

Carlos

EJ: thanks so much for the funny recap. It’s even more special because you did it in the midst of your moving turmoil.

This is an ep I’m not going to watch. Ugh! Cringe worthy.

If Little V ends up being anything like our Val from PEAM, Pedro doesn’t stand a chance.

Believe it or not, looking forward to Maria's return.

So excited about SN's new TN. But hope it doesn't start until after DQTQTQ, or I'll be watching three TN's at once! So bummed they're going to show two hours of DQ when Por Siempre is over. I love theTN--it's my fave--but it's just too much.

Carlos: I guess Adolfo makes the most sense since he is the only one looking for her.

Nanette: I loved the relationship Val had with Rogelio but Pedro is not Roger and I could see Pedro abusing Vic whereas Roger saved Val from her cray, cray mother.

Elna June – Your witty recap is much fun. Can't say the same for last night’s episode. Wishing you all the best on your move. Your silence retreat sounds wonderful. My fave lols: that handshake of manly powerfulness between JL and EZ and Monse’s I did something really stupid.

¡Ay, caramba, Josefina! If I knew you’d be this helpless before Graciela, I wouldn’t have wished for your return. Don’t you remember that your ex-MIL is the biggest and baddest of bullies? If you don’t have the good sense to tell Monse her husband is still alive, I’m on Team Monica.

So, Amelia doesn’t know about Pedro’s toolbox. At least Amelia will treat Victoria well and wake up to the fact that she married a monster.

The actress playing Victoria had rough scenes in MPV too, where her father was bipolar and sometimes violent. Like Carlos, I imagine the actors are full of cheer after the director yells “cut!” My guess is during shooting the actress imagines she’s in a Grimm’s Fairy Tale. Hansel and Gretel had it rough too.

Carvivlie: "I loved the relationship Val had with Rogelio but Pedro is not Roger and I could see Pedro abusing Vic whereas Roger saved Val from her cray, cray mother."--very true. If this wasn't such a dark TN, then an empowered Little V sticking it to Pedro would be great to watch. I'm just wishful thinking because I don't like seeing children terrorized.

The actress potrayng Victoria is very professionall,i as a kid would not last in these violent psychological draining scenes even if its just " acting" .Acting is hard pressure and it also affects you as a person, especially if its just one kid against an actor who potrays a very violent, abusive role.

Intrigued by the description of the Silvia Navarro telenovela. Evidently it's the Sound of Music transposed to Latino Land. Already "The hills are alive with the sound of music..." is playing in my head. Well, there are worse songs.

Your title is cute. Ok, so since Jose Luis and Alex are changing places, will Jose Luis become the crazy over the top husband? They both will now understand the other man's point of view.

Cynderella

Cynderella..hi there...I have missed you. And...yes...they are playing "Mony, Mony, who's got the Mony, and Ale is IT.

Judyb...I had the same thought ...,The Sound of Musica." If anyone can pull off being a hot nanny, it's Sylvia.

Totally, Susanlynn. I'd sign up to watch Sylvia narrate the alphabet. She'd find a way to make it fascinating and dramatic.

Re: SN's new TN. I just scanned the article. Did it mention Spain? I could have sworn I read/heard somewhere that it's based on a Spanish novela.

I see I'm not the only one with a girl crush on SN.

Heck no...there are legions of us here.

I heard she and Jorge Salinas had great chemistry in their movie together. Even if they hadn't acted together before, I would be stoked to see her with JS.

Well, looks like I MIGHT watch one of the upcoming novelas:

LA GATA - No way (the combination of Arenas and Lartilleux is scary, and M Perroni is just "meh" to me)

MALQUERIDA - Forget it (nothing can redeem the fact that Victoria Ruffo is in it - I cringe to think there may be flashbacks where we will see her in pigtails - don't know why, but that's all I think about when I hear Ruffo's name! I have been traumatized for life re la Ruffo)

HASTA EL FIN - Don't like De Sousa; can't stand Pedro Fernandez - he is NOT galan material IMO, so Thanks, but no thanks

MI CORAZON - This is the only possibility and the fact that it is an Osorio product would immediately put it in the negative column, but I will watch anything with Silvia Navarro and Jorge Salinas. I'll just FF through any parts with Osorio's kid, should he decide to use him.

Professional Lurker
(Just had to put in my two cents on this)

OT: How cool is it that on aRobo recap my robot words are "patres" (fathers?) and "aweenie" LOL

Elna June, I'll get back to the recap later, but wanted to wish you well with your move and all your activities.
When I read you were in the middle of packing, I thought "good, they found a place." It takes a lot of time and energy to sort/reduce one's collected possessions. We should all do it from time to time.

EJ, great recap, so much delicious snark. I especially liked the comments about the wort commercial.

I'm a little late catching up today, but I just wanted to let you know, Elna June, that your wit and humor, cheered me up after watching such a dark episode.

I just felt a sense of frustration, at seeing Pedro get away with kidnapping this child. Having her parents powerless to do anything, and then Gracie stealing Fina's phone and finding out the truth. It was just too much to take in.

A lot of my favorite lines have been quoted so I won't repeat today, but I just wanted to say thanks for a fun recap and good luck with your move.

I wont skip La Malquerida and Hasta El Fin De Mundo because i love Julian Gil,Majrolie De La Sousa and Guilerrmo Garcia Cantu! As for La Gata i might skip it,i dont like Daniel Arenas and the whole "i live in garbageland theme seems boring.Yes ,the story mostly takes place on trashlands ,from what i read from some articles! And also from what i read on wikipedia,Alberto Estrella and Sabine Mouisierr also star in La Malquerida!
