Lo Que La Vida Me Robo #133: 5/16/14: Truth or Consequences With a Gun To Boot!

Ahoy Amguis! Gather round the Patio as I dish the latest news from Aguazul. You won't believe what happened! We had an avocado showdown, er, well one side let's say, a gun, a letter and some testastarone hi jinks. So sit back, enjoy your beverage of choice and sit back as I tell you this beaut of a tale. This is a new earworm for Ale, who seems to be having this song running through his head right about now:Lonesome Loser . Shall we begin?

We start with Fablush holding that gun on Graceless. Fablush is yelping about Monse having to wear the same gown twice to her wedding. No moving unless Fablush tells Graceless to move, what is this Simon Says???? Oh, and no one is missing Graceless, they could care less.

Meanwhile JL opines to Monse he's seen that dress before, but Monse assures him all the wedding dresses are much the same.

What have we got here? Well, it the Avocado Showdown, well it's a bit one sided cause we know that er, um, only one of these men has them. It's EZ and Peddy of course, and Peddy is a bit miffed, shall we say, that he was not informed that JL is the new Police Chief of Aguazul! What sort of tomfoolery is this? Well, EZ being the Mayor can appoint who he pleases. Not good enough for Peddy, cause he pulls the Governor card, seems the Governor trumps the Mayor. Well, EZ is sticking with choice cause 1) He can make any decision he feels like and 2) He can keep JL close and 3) JL has to follow EZ's orders, so there, nanny, nanny, boo, boo! EZ does realize that Peddy was responsible for putting him in the Mayor's position, but never, ever question EZ's decisions, so there!

I have a bit of news for you here, it's an exclusive piece of chisme. Admiral Robledo has come to the wedding solo it seems. He speaks with Tia Carly briefly and informs her, that his wife is signing divorce papers, they have been having some problems for some time and he is now single. He remarks that EZ is very lucky to have Carly as his wife. Hmmmmmm...........

Monse talks to her Tia Carly and tells her that JL recognized the dress and Monse is in a dither. Tia tells her to just enjoy her wedding.

Ale and Vic, in dark glasses and baseball caps, have made it to the wedding reception, hiding behind a tree, and for those of you that want to know what Ale is wearing, it's a blue shirt, Y'all! Ale is all kinds of pithed when he recognizes the dress that Monse is in. Ale is still pithed that Monse married that infeliz of a JL. Vic has to remind him that 7 years have gone by, not the week that Ale seems to think has gone by. Ale wants to go talk to Monse, but Vic holds him back, and reminds him if anyone sees Ale it will be straight to the prison. Ale wants to write Monse a letter and he wants Vic to find Fina so she can give it to Monse. Vic thinks it is very dangerous. Ale wants to do what JL tried to do all those years ago, and if Monse won't go, at least he wants to see his Mama Rosy and his son Lauro and have them go.

The wedding reception is in full swing, I'm sorry I don't know the band's name, but they are wonderful! Monse explains to JL about the dress and what happened with the other one. She says it's their wedding and Ale is dead. JL apologizes and says really this dress has been a part of their past together. Besos. Monse says she is sorry and JL wonders if she will abandon him in this same dress, like deja vu. Nopis, they love each other and Besos!

Now it's back to Fablush, the gun and Graceless. Fablush is wondering why she never knew about Graceless. Fablush accuses Graceless of stealing the orginal will. The phone rings and Graceless says she's got to get that it's probably one of her kids. Fablush lets her answer the phone, but Graceless is to make some type of excuse. It's the Tia on the phone, and she's none to happy with Graceless for not showing up. Graceless begs off with a headache and Tia hangs up on her. Graceless tells Fablush everyone is asking after Graceless. Fablush doesn't wanna hear it.

Nadia has a bit of a chat with her daughter Vicky. She explains that they have to play this little game of Peddy's, go along with what he says. Vicky doesn't like it cause Vic is her Daddy, not Peddy. Nadia tells Vicky to play the game of pretend so that Peddy is convinced that Vicky truely beleives that Peddy is her Daddy. Vicky promises to obey Amelia too. Nadia is taken aback that Peddy has a wife again, but she tells Vicky that she plays this game, be Nadia's eyes and ears, and Nadia will find a way to get them out of there and back to Vic.

Ale is sitting down and writing Monse a letter. He explains he has been in a coma, lo these seven years, and that he just recently woke up from same. His life was destroyed when he saw her marrying JL. So he will wait for her in the place they first met and if she doesn't show he will know what her answer is. Vic thinks this is a very dangerous thing to do. Monse has moved on with her life. Vic will make sure Fina gets this letter so she can take it to Monse.

Everyone dances at the wedding.

Refoolio and Esme are chatting and here's another ear worm for you to listen to: Reminiscing, about their own surprise wedding. How nervous and scared she was, he reminds Esme he loved her then and still loves her now. Esme opines that their wedding wasn't decided by them but someone else. Refoolio says that she is the love of his life, but she opines that he never accepted her as she was and now she is preggers and alone half the time. He'd rather be married to someone like say Monica, right, right? She asks Refoolio if he is interested in Monica. He tells her no, and has her look at Dimi and Monica on the dance floor and they are just having eyes on themselves and no one else. Esme feels like a fool now as she finds out that Dimi and Monica are novios!

It's that sexy beast of a JL, sorry got carried away there, dancing with Monse and let's just say that Dances with Sunglasses, remember him, has nothing on JL. Fina watches and moves to the beat and sees Dimi with Monica. JL is lip syncing as he is dancing with Monse and Besos.

As Fina stands alone, Addled brings her some champagne. Addled asks her if she is okay, seeing Dimi with Monica. It's all good. She tells him she'll be back and goes.

Vic is hiding behind a tree when he finds Fina and gives her that note from Ale to give to Monse. Vic tells her to not let anyone see this letter and to give it to Monse, she says she will. Meantime, Monse gets an ear whisper, and tells JL it has to do with the cake or something and goes off.

Graceless and Fablush continue with the it's mine, no it's mine convo, but with a gun. Fablush thinks Graceless is pithed cause Fablush got all that lovely money and Graceless didn't get a peso of it. Graceless reminds Fablush she sacrificed so much for that putz of a Benny and that she feels entitled to that lana. Graceless advances toward Fablush and says she feels that Fablush won't shoot her, but Fablush and her ever present flask, tells Graceless not to move, there are other ways of killing without firing this gun.

Monse reads a letter and it's Que Shock!

Refu talks to JL. JL has been looking for Monse and is getting the heebie jeebies or deju vu. JL also talks to Tia Carly who will look for her.

At the beach, Ale, in his tight blue shirt, is sitting there, when he turns around and gets that huge smile on his face. Who does he see? Is it the love of his life? Nah, it's Fina and she's got that letter in her hand. Fina asks him if he is crazy, well not that exactly, but Monse is rebuilding her life after all these years and she is not giving her this letter. Ale doesn't agree and is pithed and thinks she should have given Monse this letter and he can't believe Fina doesn't agree with him. He wants his Moms and his son too. Fina understands but she tries to explain to him if there is a redo of what happened at Monse and Ale's wedding and Ale confronts JL, there will be a tragedy and that shouldn't happen.

We take a dancing break again.

Esme sees Laurito and takes his little sweet from him, she's preggers she says. Refu sees and gives it back to Laurito. Shame on Esme, taking candy from a bebe! He wants to dance with Esme, but she is waiting for Monse to get back.

It seems everyone has been searching for Monse, Carly, Rosy and even EZ, no one can find her. JL is very worried by this time, they just don't understand, he is about to say something and stops himself. Carly thinks she may have gone home to take that cursed, er, wedding dress off. There is news that Monse had the chofer take her somewhere. She left a bit ago.

Fablush is still gun toting and Graceless looks like a cat on a hot tin roof. Fablush sent that note to Monse and she's now there. What's remarkable is that as soon as Monse comes into the room, Graceless puts her behind her. Monse wants Fablush to put that gun down, she's had quite enough of her. Fablush tells Graceless to tell the truth or she'll shoot. Fablush wants Graceless to tell the truth about what she did to Ale with Peddy. How she testified and got Ale into all kinds of trouble. Que Shock from Monse!

JL and Laurito are having a chat. JL wants to know if Laurito let Monse in on their little secret, nopis. He promises he never said a word. He tells JL that Esme was stealing the sweets from him. Laurito is also worried about where his Mama is, she's coming back soon. They go off to find Laurito some sweets.

Monse can't believe she is about to find out more of Graceless dirty little secrets. Fablush is determined that Graceless speak the truth or Fablush will shoot Monse. Graceless said she did it for Monse's own good. Monse wants to know like yesterday. She tells Monse what she told the Judge about how she talked to Benny before he died and implied to the Judge that maybe Benny's death was hastened along, so to speak. Fablush tells Monse her own Mama accused Ale of murder basically and that the plane of doom Ale went on, was due to Graceless' lie and that Ale died because of the lies Graceless told, in other words, Graceless is responsible for Ale's death. Monse is destroyed!

Avances:

Graceless and Monse, more confession time.

Ale wants to talk to Monse.

JL and Monse have a chat.

Good Morning Y'all:

Please enjoy the recap and if I missed anything please let me know ; )

I think you got it all. "with her ever-present flask" was my favorite phrase.

Her comment about other ways to kill beyond a bullet confirms my suspicion that the gun isn't loaded. As much of a bitch as she is I don't think she's a killer.

Since Josefina's been away for so long she has no idea how Monserrat would feel about all this. She personally seems to have moved on (or thinks she has) but she doesn't realize that Monse hasn't done so in her heart.

The whole theme of being trapped was expressed in the bird cages hung at the wedding reception site:

-- Gracie trapped at gunpoint by Fabiola
-- Nadia and Victoria trapped by Pedro
-- Monserrat trapped by JL
-- Alejandro trapped by Gracie's perjury into being a fugitive
-- Victor trapped by association

As for Admiral Robleto, he escaped the trap of a disintegrating marriage. Anyone else think he and Carlota will end up together in the finale?

Pedro is talking more and more like he's constipated. I guess it's not easy taking testosterone supplements and having no outlet for the results.

Thanks, Madelaine, for a very entertaining and excellent recap! What a way to start the day with a "nanny nanny boo boo"!

Esme taking sweets from Laurito? Really? So tired of Esme and Refugio.

Loved that EZ refused to be intimidated by Pedro. I too wonder about what is going to happen here now that the viewer has been made aware that Robledo is single and likes Carlota. Are EZ's days numbered?

So we have micromanager Josefina thwarting Ale's efforts to communicate to Montse that he is alive AGAIN. She is almost as bad of a meddler as Graciela. Would have been nice if Montse had had the truth before she got married to JL. Maybe Josefina does deserve that goofy killer Adolfito.

Talking about Graciela, she is finally having a bad day here. What? It is going to be three episodes on the other side of Fabiola's gun? Isn't Fabiola's arm tired already? But I do like her mission of making sure that Montse knows the truth about her mother and her role in Ale's conviction which lead to his "death." Montse should thank Fabiola at this point for threatening to shoot her just to have been finally told the truth by someone.

Well, this story is always entertaining even though it is just as frustrating in many aspects!

Jarifaj

Urban, good comment about the constipation. Another good laugh.

Jarifa

Wow Ms. MADS...you were up late writing this snappy recap and including earworms to boot. I'll listen to those later. I have a couple of menfolk who like to sleep late and they are NOT going to want to hear music playing this early in the morning!

Missed the first few minutes of this and I see, from your recap, that they're important. EZ stood up to Pedro and Captain Robledo is single! Crucial. The juxtaposition makes it pretty clear EZ will die and Carlota and Robledo will live happily ever after. (no spoiler, just a prediction)

I'm a Josefina fan but NOT last night. Wow. First time I yelled at the tv screen. Meddling is right. Don't like what the writers are doing to either Josefina or Esmeralda right now. The latter is simply insufferable.

Highlight of last night. The band! Good music, good singing, INCREDIBLE FOOT WORK...wow, I loved watching them as much as I loved listening to them.

Thanks so much MADS. You do so many recaps a week, and yet each one sparkles with enthusiasm, humor, juicy language and wonderful music. You're a "fenomena" in the best sense of the world. Gracias.

And UA--nice analysis of the symbolism of the birdcages scattered throughout the reception area. I'd give you an A+ on your term paper for that one!

Loved the episode.I hate Josefina so much now for meddling, unfortunatly she is right,Ale encountering JL would be a disaster, especially since Ale almost killed JL at one point of the time. I felt like screaming though, she is stupid and correct at the same time, consider me mindblown.

Im glad Robledo is single, now he can fight for Carlotas love and to save her from her current despicable husband with an angelic face! EZ is one of my fav characters now too,the way how he stood up to Pedo was majestic,he turned Pedo into the loser of the night! I hope they got some Ball Cakes ready for the No-Ball loser!

Bleh i bet Graciella would even be rejected by the Death Eaters, witch! If Graciela was accepted to Hogwarts, the entire Magical Dimension would be a Death Eater in no time! And Pedo would scare all the Dementors away:)

Madelaine: Loved your description of "the Avocado showdown", wasn't that delicious? Probably the best part of the evening for many of us on the patio!

Loved, "I have a bit of news for you here, it's an exclusive piece of chisme..."
I totally missed this juicy gossip, girl!

Thank you for your sparkling recap and your hard work!

ITA-loved the music at the wedding, Mr. eMarie and I were tappin' our feet...

UA: that what was I thought, how can Fina or anyone else know how Monse will feel about Ale being alive, AND IN WHAT UNIVERSE is right for Fina or anyone else to assume she has moved on and no longer wants Ale?

Demetrio and Judy B, I don't blame Fina for this egregious violation of Monse’s rights, I blame the TN writers. GRRR! The Fina character as we have known her would not do this-she wouldn't have even opened that letter, she is too polite and has a pretty good sense of personal boundaries!

This is another birdcage-putting Monse in a box and assuming what she wants!

Sorry, done ranting about this.

So if Fina didn't give Monse the letter what letter was Monse reading??

I missed little parts of the episode, we have a kitty as a guest while my amiga is on vacation and this particular feline seems to feel that playing ‘fetch the object’ is much more important than watching this capítula.
Didn't know cats played "fetch". Actually better than a dog, she put the object right in my hand.

I suspect that Slitherin expelled her at some point.

Josefina is right because the timing is all wrong. The right thing to happen at this point would be for Monse, JL, and Alejandro to meet with the priest and the magistrate. The latter two would advise taking a time out to make decisions, but it still puts Alejandro at risk of arrest.

Gracie's confession that she perjured herself in the judge's office may or may not have an effect on Alejandro's legal status. Alejandro needs a good lawyer at this point who would demand a DNA test in his own presence and who could get a different judge from the one in Pedro's pocket.

Madelaine, stellar musical selections. The title was perfect and the recap divine. "the Avocado Showdown, well it's a bit one sided cause we know that er, um, only one of these men has them" and "It's that sexy beast of a JL" were among my favorites.

Like Jarifa and Judy, I was disenchanted by Fina. While I can understand her hesitation, it is not up to her to make crucial, life alterating decisions for others! Demetrios, I still feel confident Fina will redeem herself. Not sure how at this point.

And the Esme/Refugio scenes were simply painful. I kept trying to focus on anything but their discussion, like why his hair is so red now. The same with JL and Laurito's talk where JL is shamefully involving Laurito in his deception.

Men behaving badly. Women behaving badly. Sigh.

UA,I enjoyed your theme of being trapped.

While sorry that Admiral Robledo’s marriage has failed, I am fervently hoping this will leave him free for Carlota when her world crumbles…this woman deserves a happy ending and while I don’t feel that necessitates her being with a man, this particular man would be perfect.

What's remarkable is that as soon as Monse comes into the room, Graceless puts her behind her. Yes. This is the second time that the fact Graciela does have a beating heart is revealed. The first time was when Monse was shot, this – the second. If only for a second, real maternal instincts were evident.

Madelaine, thank you for your excellent recap. As always!

Diana

Josefina is acting out of ignorance of the actual -- and very awkward -- situation. I'm cutting her some slack because she has been out of touch with Monse all this time.

Of course as soon as Monse finds out Josefina withheld this from her she will be mad at her all over again. And when she finds out that Gracie was the initial cause of the silence, well...

And if Carlota ends up with the Admiral that will be another knife in Gracie's back.

UA, I missed a lot of Fina's rationale of what she did because my feline house guest seemed to feel she was much more important than the TN.

Was Monse reading the letter just Ale's imagination? What was she reading?

Brilliant Mads, just brilliant! And the earworms, oh, I really chuckled at the Lonesome Loser.

We all seemed to have the WTH? moment with Fina last night. I sort of get what she said that at this moment it wasn't the time and place. I think the writers were trying to use her again as the voice of reason, but looks like the irony may be that it all will implode anyway thanks to Graceless.

Can't say I was not liking the fact that Fabs put the screws to Graceless and now Monse, who knew well the depths her mother could go to, learns she really hit the scum line all in the usual "I did it for your own good". More like looking in the mirror and say that...it was all for her own good. I guess that dress is cursed after all.

I so enjoyed the music last night and boy can some of those folks cut a rug. In the first scene, watching Refugio and Amelia on the left side was a real treat. Those two were wonderful. The whole Dim/Marina dancing alone CONSTANTLY was a bit of overkill, but I guess writers/directors wanted it convenient thru various scenes to have them the focus for others. Sorry, though, I actually didn't enjoy JL's dancing skills, maybe it was because Monse was stiff in that dress and he looked like he was dancing around her...weird. And as someone who spent years long ago fitting high-end men's suits, wardrobe needed a few more fittings for him. Suit hung wrong and it bugged me. Stupid things that can ruin your concentration.

Another rant--JL putting Laurito into a position of continuing to lie to his Mom and making sure of it. Just no no no. If anything makes me dislike someone, manipulating a child puts you at the top of my list.

Stop with the Esme "poor me can't stop eating" portrayal. Just no again and it took up far too much air time! They are killing this character and making it now look like it's all her and NOT Refugio.

Yep, EZ is a dead man, but Tia will rebound with the Cap-I-tan after all.

Daisynjay

I thought Admirals are rich people so Gracie might get a kick out of it but of course if Robledo gets closer to Carlota,he might put a knife to the whole incriminating situation. What Gracie did was falsified testimony and only because of that the other dogs(Pedo,Sandho and Fab) got all they wanted while Gracie ended up empty. Makes me thing if Pedo will have to terminate Gracie himself to keep her mouth shout. If Gracie uses DNA to prove the will is false, they all will get quite messed up.

I don't know what an Admiral's pay is but I think they're likely to come from money, as Lauro did back in the day.

If Gracie survives to see that happen she will go into a Shakespearean rage.

Thanks, Mads! Nicely done -- cheerful and tuneful as always!

Urban, hats off to you for picking out the CAGED theme. It didn't even occur to me until you pointed it out.

Emarie, As anon 10:02 said, Montserrat was reading a letter from Fabiola. We didn't get the text exactly, but it was evidently some kind of threat: GET YOUR TUSHY HERE NOW OR ELSE! The writers toyed with us: first we thought it was Alejandro's letter, then we thought it might have been in Ale's imagination. It was only when Montse arrived at the Mendoza house that we knew because Fabiola said something like "I see you got my note."

I hated what Josefina said to Ale (it was completely out of character for her, I thought), although she may indeed have averted a tragedy. It would have been suicidal for Alejandro to show himself at that moment.

Daisynjay, I wasn't impressed with JL's dancing skills either. Now Dim is another story...

The previews suggest that JL takes off his mask on Monday. Uh oh.

The writers were clever last night with the two letters, one from Ale to Monse via Fina and the other from Fabiola to Monse via -- who knows. It was a surprise to see Fina instead of Monse showing up at the beach and even greater surprise to see Monse showing up at the gun fest with Graciela and Fabiola. But I am still unclear as to the motive behind Fab's forcing Graciela to confess about how she helped 'destroy' Ale. That surely is not her prime agenda. It has got to be in some way related to her desire to jinks the marriage of Monse and JL since Fab wants him for herself. Tune in on Monday for the third episode of 'Woman with a Gun'!

José Luis waged a military campaign:

1. He conquered/neutralized Graciela by approaching her where she lives: he fed her greed.
2. He carefully courted and seduced Laurito, a child hungry for a real live father.
3. He won over Montse by his attentions to Laurito and his acceptance of her terms -- that she cared for him but not the way she had years ago; that Alejandro would always be a presence in their lives.
4. He silenced Rosario's misgivings (not totally, but enough to keep her from getting in his way) by 2 and 3.

Now that he has won the, er, Booby Prize, let's see how his behavior shapes up. I'm thinking the real JL isn't going to be very pretty. We may find ourselves thinking that Angélica had it right all along -- JL and Fabiola really are made for each other.

We never saw Josefina and Monse interacting at the wedding which must have been the clue that the note she got was from someone else. But it looked like the same stationery.

While this could be the desire to jinx the wedding (which it already was) I think her prime motive was to hurt Gracie. She doesn't know the details of Gracie's toxic relationship to her children so she thought she was hurting it by forcing this disclosure to Monserrat. Little does she know that she actually did Monserrat a big favor; that will only make her mad later when if she realizes that this will come as no big surprise to Monserrat.

NovelaMaven, very astute analysis, and he is a military man so this is the way he would do it.
I would add he is diligently trying to recover what was stolen from him.
Thanks for clarifying what happened with the note.
Looks like a bumpy ride ahead!

Angelica obviously never got to know Fabiola well at all.

Fabiola is too greedy for anyone, including Sandro. She also is a mess and has no self-discipline. No military man could live with that unless he's an abusive control freak who gets off on bossing people around and physically abusing them when they disobey. She is also too emotionally damaged to be in any relationship with a man.

JL appears not to have a family, but he doesn't seem to have these issues. He has at least benefitted from having and being a loyal friend. He is hungry for a family of his own, hence his willingness to be a father to Laurito. However, he is also desperate to insure that Monserrat won't walk away from him because he knows that she won't forget Alejandro.

He is delusional if he believes that rescuing little Victoria and Nadia would silence them and Victor. Not that it matters now that Josefina knows as well.

Omg imagine JL and Fabiola marrying, that would be a disaster on epic scales, well atleast Fab would have something Sweaty to Vine about! Fab wants to destroy Graciela because she provoked her when Grace wanted a part of the Big Cake. ,and she desires the Holy Sweatness

Madelaine - Terrific, zippy recap. Good to the last drop!

Enjoyed all the comments. I still think the real JL is a good man, and because of this he'll implode under the weight of the dirty trick he's playing. Interesting that even when he's grilling Laurito about whether he spilled the beans, JL is still very gentle with the boy.

At first I was mad enough to pistol-whip the sweet and lovely Fina. But remembering how Ale and JL were idiot enough to shoot at each other before, in real life it would be very dangerous to give that letter to Monse in the middle of the wedding reception. But what is Fina's plan? Ale has the right, the duty in fact, to reveal himself to his family.

Daisynjay, I noticed JL's jacket dipping up in the back too. Surely wardrobe could've fixed this easily. The first time Ale married Monse, his suit was awkwardly tight. Maybe a bad tailor job signals a bad marriage.

Love the music. Will have to watch this episode again.

I still don't get the Fabiola note to Montse part.

When did she write it?

How did she make sure Montse found it and read it?

In that note did she also ask Montse to bring a refill for that likely empty flask?

FWIW...The band did not do anything for me. And those outfits! Shoot. For the longest time I thought I was watching a wedding reception from one of the Hangover movies. Plus, no one was dancing for the longest time ewxcept the bride and groom and Dimmy and Monica. What a boring reception.

Good Afternoon Y'all:

I am popping in for a bit and took a look at Y'all's comments. Insightful as usual.

Urban:

Thanks so very much for the symbolism, I didn't catch it either. It makes so much sense.

Jarifa:

Yes, they are dragging out this gun toting Fablush bit aren't they. I thought during this epi that it would accidently discharge into Graceless' foot ya know in those gaudy heels she wears, no such luck!

JudyB:

Thank you muchly! I find if I stay up a bit later, I can write better, less distractions. My puppies curl up on my feet, under the computer desk and snooze as I write. As a matter of fact, I listen to Big Band Music when I write, it sets the atmosphere so to speak.

Demetrios:

I am still on the fence about EZ.Is he evil, is he good? We will have to see.

Emarie:

That avocado showdown was delicious wasn't it? Peddy looked like he had a pole shoved up where the sun don't shine the whole time he talked to EZ, I actually chuckled as much as EZ was ; )

Urban:

I too am giving Fina a pass here. She's only really heard Graceless' version and also what she was told by Vic and Nadia before she left Argentina. Poor girl has no idea what the real deal really is so to speak.

Diana:

I'm with you with the Admiral and Carly. They would make the perfect couple and as organized as Carly is, she'd make the perfect officer's wife.

Emarie:

We don't actually know what Monse was reading and this is why I didn't elaborate. I think we may find out soon what she was reading. She left the reception when one of the waiter's told her something we didn't hear. Then next we see her reading the letter, we'll have to see.

Anon 10:02:

I removed your comment because it contained a spoiler. I'm sorry, but we only comment on what we see, we can guess if we like, but we don't allow spoilers here.

DaisynJay:

I just knew someone would love that "Lonesome Loser" earworm. It's the ultimate on how Ale feels right now. It would have been perfect for JL at one point too. I didn't notice JL's suit so much was concentrating on the hip action, lo siento ; )

Demetrios and Urban:

Admirals are far from rich people. In the States a Navy Admiral only makes 220,000.00 a year. That's including benefits. They do have good bennies though. They are usually allotted a home that looks like a antebellum home and they entertain too. They must entertain, foreign dignitaries, ambassadors, sometimes even the President of the United States.

Anon 11:45:

I think Fablush wanted to hurt both Graceless and Monse at the same time. Seems she thrives on creating hate and discontent wherever she goes. She feels threatened by Graceless because Graceless wants all her lana, and she feels threatened by Monse because she has JL the man she desperately wanted.

NovelaMaven:

Thanks so much! I don't quite agree with what you said about JL and the military campaign. I think of it quite differently.

1) JL is paying Graceless to stay out of his way. He doesn't want any involvement from her in any way, although she is sticking her nose in anyway.

2) JL never had the chance to interact with Laurito until now. JL is his Godfather and I think, even if Monse had just wanted friendship, he still would have been involved with Laurito's upbringing. As far as the secret Laurito and JL are sharing, I look at that another way. Remember JL's little chat with Amelia? He vowed to protect Vicky from Peddy and now he is protecting Laurito, cause if Peddy were ever to get wind of Ale being ALIVE it wouldn't be good. Of course JL doesn't want Monse to find out the possibility that Ale could be alive, and in that he is really pushing the envelope. But then again, JL only knows that Ale is in a coma, he has no idea that Ale is awake and walking around.

3) About Rosy now. I really think he wants to dispel the bad image she has of him. He does include her all the time, he isn't shunting her off someplace. He wants to show her, he is worthy, so to speak.

Neice in MD:

I am glad you enjoyed the music too, it reminded me of Betty and Dances with Sunglasses, dancing on AV. Sigh! I still liked JL's hips though ; )

Oxnard:

We really don't know what Monse was reading. We were never told. We will have to wait and see exactly what she was reading. I'm sure there will be an explanation at some point.

The sad truth about Josefina is that while she was Gracie's victim she hasn't realized the extent of Monserrat's victimization.

EZ is evil ,he is just not Epic-Nuts like No -Nuts. He is a chameleon waiting to strike. He is my favorite villian character so far:) .As for female villians,Graciela always takes the cake for me,i just love her manipulative, bitchy, bullying self! When she told Carly shes got a headache under pressure and Carly said " Ay Graciela,tu no tienes el perdon de Dios!" i laughed hard.

I also adore Gracie nicknaming Fabiola " La Patetica" :)

It wasn't a spoiler. Fabiola said last night that Montserrat got her letter.

Anon 1:41

My apologizes truly. I must have missed it in Fablush's rant.

Here's what Fabiola and Montserrat said last night (about 5 minutes before the end of the episode):

F: I see you got my message, Montserrat.
(Veo que recibiste mi recado)
M: What do you want?
F: I was waiting for you because your mommy has something very important to tell you.
M: For God's sake, put the gun down -- don't do anything stupid. I did everything you asked me to do in that letter and here I am. I left the party without anyone noticing.
(Ya hice todo lo que me pediste en esta carta y estoy aquí, me salí de la fiesta sin que nadie se diera cuenta.)
F: If I asked you to come, it was because your mommy has something to tell you that you need to know.

Oxnard Huero, they probably edited out the part where Fabiola asked for a refill. Typical Univisión, right? :)

NovelaMaven:

Thank you so very much for the convo, I did miss it! You are a peach, thanks so much : )

De nada, Mads. The scene went by quickly, so it was easy to miss it.

Thanks Madelaine, this recap is stellar. So well done and I really appreciate and enjoy your clear clean crisp narrative style. Well done.

However, I side with Daisynjay and NovelaMaven over JL's dancing skill. He and Montse reminded me of a self-satisfied Bantam rooster stiffly strutting his stuff for an unenthusiastic disinterested hen.

This jealous and petty sniveling complaint about that dress did nothing to improve how I regard him:

"Don't you see, Montserrat, even on our wedding day Alejandro is here?"

And his manipulation of little Laurito is at least ill-advised.

Diana, thanks for pointing out that flash of motherly instinct Gabriela displayed by shielding Montse with her own body. However, I doubt that Montse will take note of it in view of that incredible revelation.

I saw some sweet small steps toward reconciliation between Esmeralda and Refugio, but I foresee a medical crisis looming with Esme's uncontrolled gorging. Has there been any mention of prenatal care?

I'm not a big fan of Macario, but perhaps he might have been the better choice to entrust with delivering that letter.

Doesn't Fabiola have incredibly white teeth for someone who sips red wine all day?

Carlos

Maybe Fab consumes Mint Paste to save everyone from her horrible breath ,that would explain the white teeth, how can Mr.Sandy even do the deeds with her? I pray for the sake of his Nose, may Sauron bless him

Okay, so here are my thoughts on this whole crazy thing: Sanho this week said that Fabiola's drinking problem was going to be their downfall, and she has proven him right. In an attempt to hurt Montse and get back at Graciela she has revealed a huge secret and I'm sure she thinks nothing will come of it because she has no clue that Alejandro is still alive and that revealing this information to Montse will lead the way for him to clear his name and possibly get back his fortune from her. This will come back to bite Fabiola in the butt and she's going to live to regret her drunken tantrum.

Novela Maven

Thanks a lot for the translation of that encounter between Fabiola and Montse.

I missed that part completely or I might have been channel surfing. (I tend to do that at end of the episodes cuz there are so many commercials and breves piled on.)

But I do not get why Montse did not notify her groom about the threat. He is the jefe de la policia after all.

I'm dying to know what JL is saying to Mons in the previews. It does not look good.

Gracie stood in front of Monse to protect her investment. That's all Monse has ever been to her and on the unconscious (but close to the surface level) she knows it.

Fabiola doesn't think far enough ahead. She doesn't yet realize the consequences of what she's just done. If she had the tiniest clue that Alejandro is alive and well she might have thought twice about this.

BTW, does she know that the real will is missing in action or does she still think Pedro has it?

Nanette, JL says, more or less:

"You're my wife and like it or not, you're going to live up to our marriage vows -- and you're going to be faithful until one of us dies!"

Voiceover: "But that remains to be seen..."

Talk about a blast from the past. That would mean that JL is now even more insecure than Alejandro was back in the day.

NM, what an interesting analysis of JL's thinking. He had over 7 years to think through his life and goals, and his obsession in winning back Monse. It would be logical as a man who has been trained in the military, and it looks in covert operations, to plan even the steps of his life plan in the same manner. Working in covert, you are trained to focus on the objective, look for obstacles and handle quickly and by whatever means necessary and do what you need to meet you objective. (Sort of sounds like EZ???)

Not to say that I think JL is one of the evil minions now, but I do think he came out a changed man and one who was bitter and with a chip on his shoulder. The fact the he willingly DID take Angie's inheritance and one of the first ways he uses it is to buy off Graceless was to me the start of his slippery slope. He is walking that fine line of trying to believe he is the same man he used to be, and then reacting and being stupid in behavior that is not honest but allows him to win his objective. I think in his mine, he feels he is justified in his actions and it was all because he loved Monse so much.
I'm not sure she is going to see it that same way.

It's like we are seeing a mirror on the stupid arrangement and secret keeping Monse went through with Ale. They worked and talked through that, but I don't think after what Monse hears from her mother that if she finds out that JL ALSO connived with her mother that she is going to be able to remotely accept his explanation.

Monday will be interesting. JL's face in that preview was pretty upset. I can't believe Gracie would sacrifice her meal ticket and squeal on JL. And if she didn't read the letter from Ale, will she give him the chance to explain where he has been all this time. Yikes, the possibilities. But all I can think of is little Laurito if HE sees Ale...oh my.

Daisyjay

Sorry for the many typos...using my son's new tablet and it keeps changing everything I write. I need my laptop back!!

Daisynjay

Madelaine, another funny and fabulous recap. Thanks for using your ability for our pleasure.
Lots of good comments and analysis from the community/patio as well.

Nice of Robledo to share the news that he's single again. I thought that statement set up his future with Carlota and gave us a hint that Basurto must die! Wondering if EZ may be sacrificed to save another character. We'll have to see how it works out.

I was surprised at Finita's manipulation of Ale and Montse. She explained it reasonably, but still... I do prefer her chignon over the Princess Leia braid buns.

Although Fabiola was her usual annoying and drunken self, she was clever in forcing Gracie to reveal her complicity in Ale's flight to Montse. Her scheme may backfire, but it opens another path for the plot. I have to give the writers credit. They keep branching off in unexpected ways (a necessity for the expanded number of episodes).

Esme and Refugio were just annoying. I thought the singing and dancing were at least as much fun to watch as your average wedding reception.

I thought Dimitrio was the sight to see on the dance floor. I loved the way he moved his hips.

Thanks, Novela.

Anonymous 1:40 AM...Yes, Dimitrio was amazing. I hadn't thought of him as a dancer but he was hip-action personified on the dance floor. Muy caliente!

I can't imagine it would be easy to salsa in a dress better designed for the waltz. I know AB dances well.

Dimitrio and Monica could be right for each other in the end; they did dance well together.

If Pedro knocks off Amelia, is there anyone left who knows about Graciela being Fabiola's mom? Only Macario then?

Macario would be the last one. However, that doesn't make the secret dead if it's true.

A DNA test could easily disclose:

-- Maternal alleils match between Monserrat, Dimitrio, and Fabiola, leading back to Gracie
-- Paternal alleils match between Alejandro and Fabiola leading to Benjamin

Fabiola could also be the daughter of Benjamin but not of Gracie if there was a baby switch at the convent before Gracie attempted to kill what she thought was her own child.

However, the ugly confrontation that is now taking place between her and Fabiola is pointing toward Fabiola being her daughter. Neither of them will like that revelation.

Thanks, Mads, for another fabulous recap of the action in Bluewater. Things are getting murkier and murkier.

Fabulous is starting to look consistently BSC , and she is burning all her bridges including her livein golfo.

I was sitting here on the patio reading the newspaper when I saw an article that seems to explain JL's behavior lately. The title is " Coffee, Naps Can Perk up Your Scruples." According to this article, people who are sleepdeprived are more likely to cave in to unethical behavior. Sp..there you have it. The actor paying JLA loves to dance. When I first started watching telenovelas a few years ago, I surfed into Alborada in which JL played a very evil villain. After that tn ended, the cast appeared on the popular Cristina talk show. JL and Daniela Roma were eager to show off their dancing moves. even Lucero sang and danced a bit, but Fernando Colunga refused to dance despite Daniela's efforts to make him. Angelique is a good dancer. If you go on YouTube , you can see her dancing on a show on Sundays called Bailando for the wedding of your dreams.

Susana Gnzales also danced on that show. Remember her dancing with Dances with Sunglasses (Sandrho) on AV. They had some moves.

By the way, I believe a new dancing show is starting on Sunday night on Uni, I thought that I saw some if our novela actors on the promos.

I think that Mony's lackadaisical dancing was supposed to reflect her not being completely thrilled about this wedding/marriage. Like, I am dancing but I'm not ...whee...DANCING !!!!

On Te Quiero, a group of young couples are out at a club dancing and one of the girls (a brat) comments that a man's dancing skills are a reflection of his other ..skilz...1..2..cha..cha...cha.

I think Fab and Gracie are family, they are either setting up Fab for redemption or just her complete downfall.I think its the latter because if she wanted a family she would not do that much damage to Ale nor to his family.Me complaining about not having a family while at the same time getting a cousin out of nowhere who can be a family but i would hurt him anyway just cause i can would be very very hypocritical of me.

The fact that she was looking to get the entire fortune no matter what it took told me she didn't give a tinker's curse about "family." That is also possible evidence that she isn't related to Alejandro and therefore either

-- a changeling or
-- a grifter.

Or a more sself-aware version of Gracie.

Yeah i find her "mission" to find her origins completely hypocritical, look at yourself honey first, how will her supposed family accept a grifter who is also a drunktard? Not to mention that she is obsessed with ruining JL and Monses marriage.. Her parents would only be welcoming her with dirty hands and a spit.

UA,

For quite some time you have remained steadfast in your suggestion that instead of being Graciela's and Benny's daughter, that Fabiola was somehow swapped with the real daughter. Now I love this idea since the obvious swappee is María and nothing would please me more than have María in the running as a legitimate (well, actually illegitimate in another sense of the word) claimant to the Almonte estate. What is it that is making you cling to this assertion? Is it simply a hunch? A wish? Or is it based on something that you've seen and know? Do you envision a scenario of how and why this would have occurred? As I've said, the idea intrigues and delights me.

Carlos

Though the only thing that does not please me that if Fab /Maria is Gracies and Benjamins lost daughter,Gracie would have the opportunity to legally fight for the fortune..

Though i would enjoy the suffering of Gracie and Fab/Maria when they figure out everything,i would love to see the look on their faces:))
" Transforms to Pedro Medina with a smirk on my space,i fooled you all,i got all the battle plans you fools tried to hide from me,have a cigarette boo!" Plays Rolling Stones -Satisfaction in the background

No im just kidding xD

Daisynyjay...welcome to the fabulous sometimes frustrating world of tablets. I love mine because you can take it almost anywhere while at the same time hating it because it tends to change what I type. Especially annoying is the way it tries to form real words out of the random letters I must type to prove that I am not a robot. Enjoy.

Susalynn you can always go to Settings-General-Keyboard and then you will have options to turn off Autocorrect and Autocapitalize

I am calling it Monse will sneak around with Ale once he reveals himself so what will JL do once he knows? Kidnap redux?

Carlos:

Funny, there was a mention of medical care in the beginning but nothing since. She actually looks like she is having twins. OH, M, Cheese as Eli would say. I think maybe once Esme has that baby/s she may not be so touchy so to speak : )

Eli:

Its so great to see you here on a weekend and I agree with everything you said. You are right about Fablush, that old Navy saying is so spot on for her "Loose lips sink ships" oh, and the wine consumption too : )

DaisynJay:

I liked your analysis too same as NM's but I too don't think that JL is going down a dark road. He is still trying to get the goods on Peddy, and he's going about it the right way. He wants something solid he can hang Peddy with. I still believe that he is so insistent on this secret keeping with Laurito to shield him from Peddy, same as little Vicky. It would really be horrible if one of these sweet little kids let slip if they saw Ale walking around. But as far as JL knows he knows that Ale is in a coma, but does he know that Peddy knows the same? I agree with you and NM about his keeping Ale being alive from Monse for selfish reasons.

La Paloma:

I too agree with you with another way for the plot to go. I have to say, even though they have been extending this, the writers have not disappointed, except for the Padre that is. He's been gone seven years now and not a peep.

SusanLynn:

I have to agree with you about the murky. I like it though, cause just when you think you have it figured out, they go in a completely different direction! They have surprised us more than once, these writers. I like that, keep 'em guessing.

Nanette:

Good to see you here!

I don't think JL is making Laurito lie to protect him from Medina. It's to protect his ownership of Montse. If he was that worried he would've said don't tell ANYONE, not just don't tell your mother because it will make her sad. And I don't like Ale for her either but at least he did prove how much he loves her and trusted her by giving her a choice to stay or go. JL claims to be the one who really loves her - he could at least let her decide for herself.

Anon 3:13:

Good Point! But maybe JL will down the road. Ale didn't do that either, right away I mean. He waited a bit before he gave her a choice.

Hey Mads,

Thanks so much for another fabulous recap! I didn't have a chance to watch Friday's episode, but I felt like I learned everything I needed from your thorough and very entertaining recap. Your description of J-L busting some moves got me intrigued, though, and I may have to check out the episode just to see that.

Hope you and everyone are having a great weekend. It's been beautiful in Boston.
Best to all,
Julia R.

I was wondering also if Fab would also be a switched baby and turn out not to be Gracie's child and therefore likely not Ben's either. Never underestimate how convoluted these relationships can be!
It's puzzling that Fab still thinks the inheritance is hers, although she knows a lot of it was based on Gracie's testimony that she knows was purchased by Pedro ?

Fabiola doesn't care whether Alejandro is Benjamin's natural son or not. She's a greedy bitch and she wants the money. She buried the drug dealer's cash not to protect Alejandro but to go back and take it later.

Carlos, a while back I pointed out that Maria could be Gracie's but she could still be Benjamin's child with a different mother. There are a variety of ways this could be, none of which would please Gracie or Maria. Because if she is Alejandro's half sister that will send her flying over the edge.

Either is possible. He has said at least a half dozen times that she felt like a sister to him and novela writers never say that for no reason.

Great recap and discussion. I'm so disappointed in JL. He was such a good guy and now it looks like he has indulged in his obsession to a point where he cannot turn back. In my mind there is no way he has any good intentions in telling Laurito to lie about Victoria's reveal. He just wants to trap Montse-- and the advance seems to back me up. So much for "just caring about her happiness!" I wonder if there is any way that she will continue to say she doesn't want to sleep with him. I don't imagine the writers doing a complete repeat of Ale-- with the marital rape I mean. Then couldn't she have the marriage annulled? We shall see....
Btw I hate the way they set up advances that happen a week later or so.
And I can't see how the writers could make Fabi NOT Graci's bebe, BUT Carlos and UA have a point. Usually the writers don't stick things in like "I love her like a sister" multiple times for nada.
Lastly, I still think (wish/hope) that the padre will return.
Night!
Becky

UA-I forgot about that, but right, we still have that possibility that Maria is related somehow to Ale, especially since he never had intercourse with her in spite of sharing a bed, etc. They made a real point out of it and Ale's fraternal feeling for Maria.

It's true Fab is greedy and would have stolen Ale's inheritance anyway, but she seems to actually believe now that Ale cheated her. She is earnestly filled with righteous indignation when she argues about this. It's odd when you consider the fact that she knows Gracie was paid to testify.

I think Goebbels was the one who said it but when you tell a lie often enough people will believe it as truth.

Madelaine,
Extremely late to the party, but I still wanted to thank you for your awesomely written recap.

JL has never been my favorite, but I give him credit for going to prison for 7 years. But sometimes I have to wonder who got the better deal. JL in prison, or Ale in a coma, but also in a sort of "prison". I do think that JL loved Montse, but now it's turned into an obsession. Just knowing that Ale is alive is driving JL up the wall. He's going to completely loose it when he finds out that Ale is out of the coma. His obsession is going to cloud his judgment, and he will probably do some really stupid things. No spoiler here, just I guess. Ale has told Montse that it was her choice to make between him and JL twice. The first time was when he signed the divorce papers. The second was in the letter he wrote to her on Friday, but that she didn't receive. If I remember correctly, the letter that Ale wrote to Montse said something like if she chose JL, he would have to accept it. From the previews it looks like JL is not willing to let Montse go once it is revealed that Ale is alive. He wanted the religious ceremony because he knew it would be harder for Montse to get out of the marriage. I think JL is good with Laurito, but I hate that he is making him keep something from his mother. That is WRONG! Enough about JL.

I could not believe Fina! WTH! She did it again. I know she was looking at the big picture, but it still sucked seeing that look of disappointment on Ale's face when he saw Fina, not Montse, coming toward him on the beach. Shame on you Fina!

I thought Dimi was quite the dancer. Way better than Monica. 1...2..cha...cha...cha!

I think Gracie's confession to Montse deserves a slap or two, flowed by a finger punch and a "te falta Jesus"!

I am really liking Ale's tight t-shirts. But I still miss the blue, button down shirts that were only buttoned half way up. Those were my favorite.

Back to reading the weekend discussion...hasta pronto!

Good Morning Y'all.

Romy:

I really hope the writers are going there again! I don't want to see another kidnap.

Julia R.:

You have to see those hips move ; ) After all the flooding rain we had on Thursday, this weekend was so nice.

Becky:

I too hope we find out what happened to the Padre. Maybe with Ale back on the scene there will be an answer to the question, not a spoiler, just a guess.

Aunty Ann:

You are never too late to comment. I always enjoy reading your take on things. Whenever I compare Monse and Ale and JL I think of a line from a song called "Love is Like Oxygen" The whole intro describes this triangle perfectly:

Love is like oxygen
You get too much ,you get too high
Not enough and you're gonna die
Love makes you high

It works in both JL and Ale's cases. I am looking forward to seeing what the writers are going to do with JL.

Now to some more of my thoughts on JL.

I know I defend him ad nauseum. I think, in his years in prison, he was thinking of how he would prove that Peddy had done all of these crimes. He never lost his focus there. Yes, I'm sure he thought a lot about Monse too. If it were the reverse and Ale had been in JL's shoes, and had the life that JL had, he would have been thinking about Monse too. I say both men are obsessed with Monse, but the difference here is that Monse truly loves Ale. I get that. I just don't want these writers to make JL into a man without honor. He really has done the right thing a lot of the time. I want him to be the one to bring Peddy down and I want him to finally have some type of happiness. I want him to continue to fight the good fight.

As far as who is Graceless child, I like how the writers like to throw in red herrings. Could it be this one, or could it be that one? Was there a switch? I can't wait for the reveal of that one.

I've been watching this carefully. The writers have all sorts of clues here and have deliberately created a situation that could go a multitude of different ways. We have so many characters without immediate blood relatives that we have long suspected that any of the following could be Benjamin's offspring:

Maria (who never spoke of her mother)
Fabiola (baby allegedly given to Anastasia and her husband)
Refugio (because he's blond with blue eyes)

We know that JL had parents and that they were poor, so he's not under consideration.

We also have a missing padre and no dead body.

The one area where the writers have really dropped the ball is Nadia's parents.

I came across this old blues song that fits Fabiola to a T. Sing it to her Sandro.

Lyrics and link to the recording below.

Cherry Red Wine
By Luther Allison

“Watching you babe
Watching you all the time

Watching you baby
Just watching you all the time

Watching you destroy yourself woman
All you do is sit around drinking wine

You worry me babe
I'm sitting here wondering what in the world can I do

Worry me babe
I'm sitting wondering what in the world can I do

We've got so much to live for darling
But I just can't sit here doing nothing and watching that wine destroy you

I'm talking you to the doctor darling
Maybe the doctor knows what's going on in your head

Yeah I'm taking you to the doctor darling
Maybe he knows what's going on in your head

You're gonna keep on drinking that bad wine baby
Even the grass that grows on your grave will be cherry red”

Ale tongue-kissed Maria back in the day when he was ticked at Monse and drunk, and no doubt Maria spooned with him, groped him, etc. in failed seduction attempts when she was with Ale during their whirlwind trip to, uh, Texas. So I'm still going to gag if Maria turns out to be Ale's sister.

Took another look at the dancing. I give all three couples a thumbs-up. Refugio, JL, and Dim can lead me on the dance floor anytime. Agree about Monse's voluminous gown holding her back. The first dance I thought Monse was really into it. But by the next dance scene, JL's attitude has put a damper on her.

Thanks Oxnard. Luther Allison is one of my favorite blues singers.
This one fits Fabiola to a "t".

Tonight's article will post on time, as soon as the east coast broadcast ends. I will likely be out with my cult movie Meetup but will be home early enough to log in.

Neice in MD:

Same thoughts I had about Ale and BM, I just can't imagine her being Ale's half sister. Too much of the yuck factor for me!

Oxnard:

Thanks so very much for the link to Luther Allison, what a great blues man he was. Yes, that song is perfect for Fablush and I can see Sandho watching her all the time ; )

Here’s my two cents about Gracie and Fab.

I believe that Gracie was genuinely upset when Mons got shot. I also believe that her maternal instincts kicked in and she instinctively stepped in front of Mons to protect her. Don’t think this makes me her fan, she’s still an evil witch, but I believe she does have some maternal feelings for Mons. However, I would put her at 1% maternal to 99% not so much. Is Gracie redeemable? Don’t think so. She’s done too much damage. Plus, that whole killing Ben thing is against her.

As for Fab. I also believe that she really wants to be part of a family. She lost her parents. She had no one, except maybe occasional visits from Amelia and family, and then suddenly she’s written out of Ben’s will. Part of her is afraid of losing that family again so she sabotages it for herself. Classic. Her taking the money from Ale was partly a revenge thing for being abandoned, I think. She is a grifter and a drunk and thoroughly despicable--at least right now--but I think her wanting a family and love is at a higher percentage than Gracie’s “maternal love percentage” (see above). At this point in the story, she’s definitely redeemable. Will the Almonte’s completely forgive her, I don’t know, but I don’t believe she deserves any heavy anvils.

Nanette:

Very good analysis for Graceless and Fablush.

It does seem, what drives Fablush's anger and her desperation is finding out who her birth parents were and to be a part of a family. I think when Fablush was younger she probably acted out some, and no one probably cared about her one way or the other. She is reaching for someone to hold on to, someone to care about her. She is also looking for the love of a good man. She desperately wants what Ale and Monse had. She is a grafter, but I think she actually thought she was Benny's blood neice, the one and only living relative of Benny. She had no idea that Ale existed and thought from the beginning he must be a fake. I think if she had approached Ale in a different way, they had done a real DNA test, and she was related, he would have shared what he had. he was willing to do that with Dimi.

WOW, 84 comments for this weekend so far! Although I'm pretty behind on the commenting, its very interesting and eye opening to read everyone's perspectives on what is going on in present day Aguazul.

What a fun recap you posted Madelaine, even having to suffer another episode of Fab's gun pointing! I didn't see that one coming. Loved "o moving unless Fablush tells Graceless to move, what is this Simon Says???? Oh, and no one is missing Graceless, they could care less. " and the imagery for the "the Avocado Showdown" was entertaining. I noticed a few grey hairs now on the back of Pedro's head, I think by the time EZ is through playing him, he's sure to have a lot more.

Aunty Ann, I'm leaning with your opinion on JL's love for Montse has now become an obsession. I think besides thinking of how to bring Pedro down after his jail stint, the only other thing on his mind, knowing that Ale was dead, was getting out of jail and marrying Montse.Looks like the roles have been flipped.

I do feel like Ale has grown from the angry possessive man he used to be. Of course seeing Montse coming out of the church with JL stunned and angered him, but he controlled himself and in the letter he wrote to her, once again gave her the choice of being with him or JL. That is real love. I hope JL realizes that too because based on the previews it looks like he is about to become the her jailer this time around.

Count me in with those who think Maria being Ale's sister is just too gross! I think it should be Fabs, and hopefully she can gain her siblings' trust and be redeemed.

As for Dim and Fina, I was rooting for them 100% at the beginning. Seeing him dancing with Monica, made me aware of the possibility for these two. Dim did not lift his eyes from hers the whole time to glance at Fina, like she was doing with him. Still on the Dim/Fina wagon, but not sure now where they are headed.

Maricruz

I just hope that when Fabs learns her terrible true origins she "tosses" Gracie out of her life, becomes less possesive ,goes to a alchoholic treatment and then returns and marries JL just like Angie envisioned.

However Fab participated in will falsifiement so she might have to endure several months/years in prison for her acts

I completely agree about Alejandro's generosity. But from the moment Fabiola walked into his home we knew she was serious bad news.

Unless she's actually an impostor Benjamin failed her, as did the school he put her in. I wish we knew more about why he completely disinherited her and why he didn't want her informed of his death. We aren't likely ever to know those answers because the one person who knew is dead.
