Lo Que La Vida Me Robo # 123: 5/2/14: Memories and Premonitions!

Ahoy, Mi Amiguis! I have been under the weather since last weekend and am now recovering. If I miss anything or need a correction please let me know. We still have the same distubrance in the force, namely Peddy of course, but there is a sliver of hope on the horizon and well, you'll see what I mean. I am starting with the usual earworm for you to enjoy as you read this recap. This one is dedicated to Monse and JL. Try To Love Again

Shall we begin? I am briefly going over that last scene where Monse feels Ale is gone now for the last seven years and Rosy isn't accepting it, pobrecita! After all the poor woman's finace, the love of her life was brutally murdered by Don Benny, she went to the prison for 30 years for a that crime which she didn't commit and had just come to know her son, she has lost so much. Monse understands this grief and hands her the cell phone for her to look at the last words of her son Ale, Monse says she will talk to her manana and gives her a kiss and hug goodnight. Rosy watches the video and cries and kisses that cell phone.

Dimi and Monica have spent the night together, and he actually looks happy having done this, but maybe a mite guilty? Monica stirs and smiles. What does Dimi do? He covers her and goes! It's not nice to do this Dimi, jus' sayin'! Monica wakes to find Dimi gone. She gets up and finds a piece of chocolate the Ferrara Roche wrapped in gold type, her car keys and a note. What does the note say? Far as I could tell he told her he was sorry he had to go, he did bring her car for her, it's outside so she can get back to her place and he'll see her Lunes at work. Hmmmmmm.....

In Buenos Aires, Fina has spent the night on Nadia and Vic's couch and is awoken by little Vicky (Victoria). Fina tells Vicky she is her Tia. Well she had no idea she had a Tia, just a Tio that has been asleep in the hospital for a long, long, time. Vicky, smart little girl, tells her Tia Fina all about the money problems her Mama and Daddy are having to pay Tio Ale's hospital bill. Vicky also gives her Tia a hug.

The nurse is in Ale's room and is giving him a kinda, sorta wipe down, but only on his face, more's the pity! We miss his hunkalicious self! She is either telling him about her life, ay, yi, yi, or it's a telenovela, or her life it seems is a telenovela, when Fina comes for a visit.

I am combining these next scenes so as not to interrupt the thread. Let's call this section, after this earworm, Memories.  Monse has gone to the beach at Aguazul to kind of reminisce about her meetings with both Ale and JL. With her naked eye she saw her meeting with JL, promising undying love until it all went to hell in a hand basket. She also remembers meeting Ale for the first time on this same beach, mistaking him for JL from behind. She also remembers JL on her wedding day to Ale and finding out what had happened to him and why she was marrying another man, she was obligated to, she told JL. She admitted loving JL more than anything in the world. She remembers JL in uniform, the LT one and she told JL that Ale was very jealous, and she begs for forgiveness. She admitted she loves JL. Monse remembers JL telling her he was marrying Angie, that he cared for Angie muchly, but only loved Monse. Monse remembers telling JL that she fell in love with Ale more and more each day, after the marriage. Monse also remembers the duel in the sand and Ale shooting JL and how she had run to JL screaming at Ale. At this point JL comes up behind Monse and hugs her from behind for realz!

In Buenes Aires, Fina tells Nadia and Vic that she is taking responsiblity for Ale's hospital bill and all the rest of it. Meanwhile, in his room, Ale is moving his fingers.

Now in this part, I don't know if I got every thing, but here goes. They are sharing their memories in real time. Monse remembers how she has memories of both Ale and JL on this beach and the sea too of course. It's Ale's grave so to speak. She met Ale on this beach for the first time. She made plans with JL and their future together. He learned she married another on this beach and Monse remembers how JL told her he was marrying Angie, may she rest in peace. It's funny how life took them down different paths. Now he asks Monse for forgiveness for a lie he told, ya know the one, about only wanting to be friends, he wants more than that, more than friends with benefits even! She wants JL to be happy, after everything he went through, but you see his happiness depends on Monse. Being face to face with JL has brought back so many memories and she's still upset that Ale is now gone, passed into the great beyond.

Meanwhile, in Buenos Aires, Ale in his hospital room, is moving his fingers, then his whole hand, and then he raises his arm and makes a fist and kind of lifts it in the air and then it drops back onto the bed. No one was watching, so no one knows.

Nadia and Vic thank Fina profusely for all she is doing for Ale. Fina swears she will be discreet, but she is also going back to scope out the situation in Aguazul! This makes Nadia and Vic panic! The way Fina sees it she wants to check on Rosy and Laurito, since they are assuming that Monse is dead, lo these many years. They remind Fina that Ale is a fugitive and it is very important no one knows Ale still lives. Fina assures them she is only going for Rosy and Laurito's sake, she wants to see how they have been living all these years, cause Fablush took all Ale's lana. Vic and Nadia are very worried that that Peddy will find a connection. Fina says no worries, she will convince Rosy and Laurito to go on vacay with her to Argentina so Rosy can see that Ale is still alive.

Monse and JL talk about the plane crash. Monse says that Ale is still in her heart as Angie is in JL's they will be there foreva. Monse wonders if Ale and Angie are waiting up there for them in heaven? Monse tells JL about that meeting with her Papa, when she was in surgery, and she put it down to a wonderful dream. JL speaks from his heart as he asks Monse if she could eva love him again? They are both alone now, he reminds her and they hold hands, there was a beso, very soft there too.

Dimi it seems has some collateral duty, as in watching his nephew Laurito, when the sulfur smell comes into the room and saps all the happy of it, harshing everyone's mellow! Who is it you ask? Graceless of course! Laurito runs to her, calls her Abuela, and she pushes him so he won't hug her and yells, that's right, yells at him not to call her Abuela. The cute tyke is very sad. Where is the anvil for this she creature, I ask you???? Anyhoo, Graceless is on a mission to defame JL. She's worried that Monse is hooking back up with this mariner! Now someone asked last week if this unit of Capitana Monica is Naval. Yes, by gum it certainly is. The word Marina in Spanish is equivalent to mariner, which equals sailor which equals Navy. Jus' sayin'. Gracie is using reverse psychology of course, making it seem as if she can't stand JL. And of course Graceless is bebeing Dimi to death. There are rumors that Monse paid a visit to JL and that is so not happening. Dimi tells Graceless to leave Monse in peace. Speaking of Monse she comes in and tells her to bugger off, well, not that, but she does say she saw that video and Ale's explanation, Dimi reminds Graceless she won't see a dime of JL's lana, if they only knew! Graceless mentions that she had coffee with Violetta, remember her, Sebastian's Mama? Seems Sebastian been thinking of Monse, evidentally he is single again, after a divorce it seems. Graceless thumps her own temples and tells Monse to think of the future. Monse tells Graceless she won't allow her to manipulate her again, wishful thinking, and that if Monse feels like accepting JL she will, so there! Dimi and Monse leave the room as Graceless yells that they need Jesus!

JL is back at home at his crib with the pictures of he and Angie on the sideboard when there is a ringy dingy. It's Rosy come to call and she's pithed! She doesn't want JL near Monse at all y punto. There is no love between them she says. JL begs to differ. Rosy tells JL that Laurito is the only grandson she's got, or will eva have and JL is not taking Laurito from her! Seems Rosy has premonitions and she's had them every time she sees JL. She had a bad feeling about him when she met him and she still feels the same way, it's in his eyes there is danger there. JL thinks this spidey sense, so to speak of hers is well, not on target. He saved the life of her son Ale, not once but three times! She has been having a sense that Ale is only asleep and will wake up. Rosy does understand about JL's injustice cause she spent 30 years in the prison. JL wants to know what kept her going all those years? Her son, that's what! JL tells her he gave up Monse so she could be happy with Ale and he thought about her happiness and that is what got him through. He reminds her that Monse's happiness depends on Rosy.

Nadia tucks little Vicky into bed.

Meantime, in Aguazul our loving former Godfather from AV, in this TN called Carlos Torres, gives Peddy a call. This is the same guy that took that cell phone pic of Nadia playing the piano, and I bet the guy isn't good. He's a friend of Peddy's after all! He's called it seems cause he went to a concert recently and the pianist reminded him of Peddy's first wife, ya know Nadia, may she rest in peace! Peddy assures Carlos that Nadia is dead. Carlos tells him that pianist's name is Oriana, no not Caligaris, but Oriana Solar and he sends that pic he took to Peddy, more's the pity! Peddy tells Carlos to find out all the info he can on this Oriana Solar and then he stares at that pic of Nadia!

AVANCES:

Ale opens his eyes, or does he?

JL asks Monse to marry him? So soon? Tune in Este Lunes to find out more! MUST SEE TV!

Good Morning Y'all!

I want to thank all the recappers this past week. Your recaps kept me up to date, as I didn't watch the show that much. Please enjoy the recap ; )

Good work, Madelaine; you didn't miss a thing in this.

I knew Josefina would come to the financial rescue for Alejandro's care, but despite how many times I've seen this in any entertainment I still can't believe that anyone can wake up from a coma after seven years to a state of normality (which is only likely in drama).

Dimitrio still likes to play with fire. I don't get that. He finally got his act together and here he's fooling around with his boss! That's every kind of foolish.

Graceless' anvil will be a real custom job after the way she treated Laurito last night. It's obviously reflective of how useless she finds him.

Madelaine, what a treat enjoying one of your great recaps with my coffee this a.m.! Thanks!

So, we didn't even have to wait for Josefina to misstep in Aguazul for Pedro to become aware of Nadia's existence. The guy with the camera just happened to be Pedro's friend. What were the chances? Very high in telenovelalandia evidently.

My favorite scene was that between Rosario and JL now that she knows the truth about Ale's relationship with him. Her premonitions about him were curious and I liked how he told her they had similar souls based on their incarcerations and profound losses.

What can we say about Graciela and her treatment of Laurito? Not much. Guess we should have expected it. She wants him to call her "Grace"? ???

Questions:

How can Ale return if he still has criminal charges pending?

Will he find Montse and JL married when he does return?

How long will it take before Pedro makes Nadia's life hellish in Buenos Aires?

Who knows? but it will be fun!

Jarifa

Marvelous musical selections as always Madelaine!

I'm sorry you have been ill but relieved you are feeling better. Thank you for doing this despite being under the weather.

I thought the title was perfect and your summary full of insightful observations and all important details. Excellent recap.

"With her naked eye she saw her meeting with JL, promising undying love until it all went to hell in a hand basket" and "then the sulfur smell comes into the room and saps all the happy of it, harshing everyone's mellow" were my favorites.

I know full well that we are being led into a world of fantasy, with a lure and implied promise that JL and Monse will have their happy ending together.

But my heart isn't listening to what my head is reiterating. I have always had a soft spot for JL and "JL speaks from his heart as he asks Monse if she could eva love him again? They are both alone now, he reminds her and they hold hands, there was a beso, very soft there too" gave me a short lived shiver of hope.

I hope Ale returns quickly to minimize what will surely be the last stroke for JL. I fear (no spoiler) if he loses Monse again, that will be the end of him. In every way.

Fina's kindness and heart have always shone radiantly and did so here with Nadia and Victor. Not that it matters, but with Tomas' death, I imagine she is a very, very wealthy woman. I never understood why Graciela who has always greedily grasped at any opportunity to add to her coffers treated Fina with such distain, despite her wealth. I hope she rues that decision with great regret (along with all of her other foul deeds).

I was trying to think what I would say about Nadia. But I didn't need to. Jarifa, you said it to perfection: "So, we didn't even have to wait for Josefina to misstep in Aguazul for Pedro to become aware of Nadia's existence".

Rosario has suffered. But, she does have Monse and her beloved Laurito. While she will never embrace JL, she should recognize he gave up years of his life so that her son could be with his family. He has sacrificed for love as she has.

UA, maybe Dim hasn't lost all of his bad traits including a streak of recklessness. I believe he feels a strong sexual attraction for Monica but am unconvinced this will turn into anything else (on his part) And you are so right, fooling around with her is "every kind of foolish".

Thank you Madelaine. Another stellar summary.

Diana

Hola MADS, Amiguita...so sorry you have been under the weather. Must be awful if you have missed seeing the shows. Hope it's not this hacking cough that is going around here, making for lots of sleepless nights.

Thanks for starting my Saturday off right with some more great earworms. Try and Love Again will now play happily in my head for the rest of the day. Cool.

So Dim and the Captain were spoon sleeping till dawn. Pretty cozy. At least he didn't get up and leave right after the "criterion behavior". And he left a note. He gets points for that.

Well, we knew Graciela didn't like children, but we certainly had further confirmation last night. Sadly, I know several grandmothers like that.

The only part of last night I really enjoyed was seeing sweet Josefina again. Her elaborate hairdo miraculously survived a night on the couch. I would have greeted the morning looking like Phyllis Diller. Can't wait for her to return to Agua Azul to upset carefree Dimitrio's apple cart. But very worried about the safety of Victor, Nadia and their daughter. More angst! Yikes.

Prayers and loving thoughts that you're soon feeling better, MADS.

And Elna June, may your house sell quickly at a good price, and you find the patio retirement home of your dreams. No stairs and a glorious view!

Busy day today ( my nephew's First Communion/party) but had to start the day with my Mads recap. Perfection!! Thanks so much, and so glad you're feeling better. Sending spring sunshine and good vibes you are back to your ornery/healthy self soon.

Bless her heart, Fina is always there for those she loves and she came through again. Knew there would be reason for her to head back and what a surprise she has in store. You just KNOW she will run into Dim, but I'm thinking this won't be True Love yet perking it's head up. If anything, I can see some resentment from Dim that she never contacted him and she trying to not get pulled back...just yet. (and you just know also she will find out about the Cap-I-tan). Still am firmly planted at the Dim table, but fooling with the boss was such a DimBulb move.

A 7-year coma patient wouldn't have the muscle ability to raise their arm and make a fist like that...correct me if I'm wrong Carlos. I think me beanie will have to be firmly parked with me on fewer viewing these next weeks.

With the facts as they are, even though I'm not a JL fan, if the story goes this way, I still think getting to a marriage proposal already is really pushing things. I don't know why Rosario seems to think Monse remarrying takes her grandson away from her, heck she may get to be chief caregiver still, and not like they would leave town, but maybe she will calm down a bit after that chat?

Graceless...what else is there to say? I'm sure we all thought the same thing and were shaping the anvils as UA pointed out.

Check in later!

Daisynjay

I think someone else pointed this out a while back, but I think Graceless wants to be the only woman in Dimitrio's life or at least the only one with influence. Virginia might have fit the bill if she were more submissive, but I honestly think that Graceless would have found a reason to reject her as well despite her coming from money and being the daughter of the only friend she ever had.

As we saw in last night's episode, she also can't handle growing older: She won't allow Laurito to address her as "abuela". That she also rejects his affection is pretty telling of her character.

She is a textbook narcissist.

Laurito is only useful to her for his DNA. She could have recovered Alejandro's inheritance for him but she won't because it would be administered by Monserrat who is no longer inclined to give her mother anything.

I probably said this before but despite being a step away from atheism I want to slap Grace to kingdom come every time she mentions the name of Jesus.

Get better, Mads, and I wish Elna June a good price for the house.

Madelaine, thanks for dishing out the chisme as well as coffee on the Patio this morning! My favorite line,
"Dimi it seems has some collateral duty, as in watching his nephew Laurito, when the sulfur smell comes into the room and saps all the happy of it, harshing everyone's mellow!"

ITA about Dim dating his boss. Then leaving her in the morning with one piece of candy.
Did anyone see the flicker of annoyance on her face before she saw the candy? This is your boss, Dude! You want to end up in the Brig?

ITA Urban, you can't wake up normal from 7 years in a coma. But, I took care of a fella in his 30"s who had a head injury from an assault many years ago in California (The 80's).
I was the night nurse in a telemetry unit, and I bathed him, talked to him-just like that nurse was doing last night (the RNs did all the care on the floor). (Well, not telling him my own chisme, I think if I had that nurse yapping at me all night I'd come out of my coma just so she'd shut up!)
He was like that for almost a year. I worked only weekends, so one weekend when I came back on my shift I was told he had came out of his coma.
I walked into the room, and he was sitting up, and the weird thing was he looked right at me and smiled at me in the sweetest way, and said hi like he knew me. Scared the b'geebies out of me.

But he couldn't really say anything else but hi, and he had muscle atrophy and other problems. I don't think he remembered his past life much and needed a lot of rehabilitation. I never got to find out how his rehab worked out. I never forgot that experience.

Interesting story Emarie. I think he probably did "know you". They say people can hear in a coma; and he may have instinctively known how you cared for him as well.

Gracie needs a huge anvil, perhaps being abandoned in manicomio or should she be doing "royalty service" in La Escondida? Im glad the sleeping prince is waking up,raise up the hand! If Pedro goes to a " visita" in Buenos Aires ,i hope he has a plane crash like Bernarda Iturbide and may he roast in hell!!

Also do you thing SS could win an award for Best villian or will Hector Suarez Gomiz( Fevier) take the award from him? They are both sick villians, their roles are absolutely crazy, evil, enfermo and they both seem to lack a conscience, not even empathy.

I never seen male villians so evil like our Pedo Medina and Fevier, thats a new one!

Gracie's a pretty extreme villain, Urban, so right she is a classic narcissist. If TNs do nothing else right, they have got that narcissist profile down pat. They must have a Narcissist expert, but no medical expert.

Madeleine, I enjoyed your recap. Thank you. I share your
compassionate view of Mama Rosario while at the same time feel that Monse needs to be free to start her
life again.

Madelaine - I figured you were out of town. So sorry you've been under the weather. Your recap cracks and sparkles as ever. Hope you feel much better soon. Love the "sulfur smell" line.

It will be interesting to see how Dim tries to extricate himself from Monica. I found the chocolate insulting. A flower would've been better.

Rosario's premonition about JL threw me. This is bald-faced foreshadowing, but of what? I don't think JL will turn evil, but he's so stubborn.

Emarie, what a lovely story.

Thanks or his wonderful recap, Madelaine. I'm so sorry to hear that you've been ill. I'm glad that you are feeling better.

Continued good wishes to you Elna June as you cope with the upheaval and changes in your life.

I'll give a few points to JL last night. He seems to have developed at least a modicum of patience during his incarceration.

As for Alejandro's impending awakening I think we all are best served by viewing it as nothing less than another wondrous Festivus Miracle. His hands even looked perfectly manicured. Someone has been tending our pretty vegetable with great care. I wonder if amongst those dreams that have kept him entertained for the past seven years he had thoughts of his Tundra which appears to have been faithfully and loyally awaiting his return to Agua Azul. I just hope that JL isn't planning to drive Alejandro's truck too.

I saw Dimitrios departure as being very thoughtful... carefully covering her as she peacefully slumbered, leaving a note as well as a chocolate... gee, you guys are really critical.

Carlos

Rosario is referring to what they've already shown us. Just a couple episodes ago we had JL bitterly calling Ale a thief who stole his chance at happiness. And that he's going to get back what's his. There's a darkness to him that mostly stays beneath the surface, but Rosario can sense it.

If JL wants to accuse anyone of stealing his happiness, the guilty party is Graciela. She set him up to be arrested for murder and tried to get him transferred to the main brig. This allowed the possibility of Alejandro winning Monserrat.

Monserrat made the choice to be with Alejandro and she fell in love with him. If JL is blaming him for stealing her he's an idiot because nobody can steal what you can't own.

Yeah,JL does not want Monse as a person, but as a property. In fact in the entire novela Monseratt has been but nothing but an object put on sale with two possesive men fighting for her..

Emarie, what a wonderful, touching story! I totally agree with Judy that he "heard" you! Thank you so much for sharing with us.

Elna June, adding my voice to the chorus wishing you the best of luck in selling and finding your new home.

Carlos: I just laughed out loud beginning with "Festivus Miracle" through "I wonder if amongst those dreams that have kept him entertained for the past seven years he had thoughts of his Tundra which appears to have been faithfully and loyally awaiting his return to Agua Azul. I just hope that JL isn't planning to drive Alejandro's truck too".

Thank you for always adding laughter to my day.

Diana

Mads..Thanks so much for that excellent recap. I am especially grateful because I went to a Lettermen concert last night and missed the show.

Carlos ..."pretty vegetable"...You always give me a laugh, friend. As to Dim' s behavior...He is back to being a playboy. Love 'me and leave 'em. Monica has been around enough males to recognize a player. Monica should have been aware of his womanizing ways so I don't feel sorry for her waking up with a smile and a gift of one chocolate.

Fina is beautiful. I loved her outfit and lovely, elegant hairstyle. Her transformation was perfect. Now the outside reflects the beautiful inside.

I think that in solidarity with Little Larry I will from here on refer to Gracie as Grammy Gracie . My paternal grandmother Grammy Ruth was not quite as vain and self centered as Grammy Gracie, but she was not warm and loving and beloved like my maternal grandmother Mom who lived with my family. The book that I use in my reading class has an interesting chapter on grandmothers. Research has shown that grandchildren are protected from harm and their chances of survival are increased by the presence of their. Maternal grandmothers . I guess that Grammy Gracie is the inevitable exception to the rule.

Emarie..How wonderful to. E a part of someone's recovery.

(((Elna June)))...I continue to send good vibrations westward for the perfect home and an easy move and transition. Change is always stressful...but inevitable. Last August, our family moved our daughter and her two little girls out of a.very big house into a much smaller townhouse. She and the girls settled in pretty quickly and things gradually got better for them as they feathered their lazy, new nest. I am wishing the same for you. Thinking of you and yours )))))

Lazy ?????that was supposed to be. Cozy. Sorry...I am sleepy...and careless today.

Also I loved the scene between Vicky and Tia Finita with Vicky taking to her so quickly and telling her how beautiful she is and Fina responding that everyone thought she was ugly because she thought so.

Santa Maria -- Try to Love Again -- The Eagles. Have mercy! You all slay me.

I didn't think Dimi looked thrilled to wake up next to Monica. And the Morning After Note was definitely a Bye See You Later. Think she got that from her first few seconds of reaction. See you Monday at work -- ouch!

Monse's very 60s bikini look was pretty great. That beach -- OMG! How gorgeous is Mexico?

Ale and the hospital room Frankenstein look -- LOL.

Fina -- Looking good. Really good. The costume people have done well with her new transition look.

Just to apologize too to whomever is out there. I banished myself some weeks ago because I'm older and things get stirred up in me and I end up being an idiot in going overboard here. Tanta emocao and really so much nostalgia for being young, pretty, and active.

And then when I did come back to the site there was some novela drama going on and I tapped into Mediation Central which is what I used to a million years ago.

I'm sorry. I'm a novela fool but I love y'all.

There is NO way Dimi has ever forgotten Josefina and kudos to that actor who has been making that clearer than clear.

Mads,

So sorry you've been feeling poorly. How nice of you to write us this detailed recap with your usual pep and vigor. You would never know, from reading, that you weren't your usual upbeat self!

OK now that I dissed that tango music, I have to say that I'm happy every time I hear it because I know we're going to Argentina where at least things are new and interesting! I love every scene with Fina and her new empowerment, Ale, the awakening prince, and even Nadia and Victor are interesting now that she can actually play the piano and are about to get stalked by crazy YKW (you know who).

I would think Gracie would like Laurito BECAUSE of her narcissism. Isn't he an extension of her, in a sense? I guess she just doesn't do "kids". I'm sure Dim and Montse are observing her lack of maternal instincts and realizing what a horrible mother they've had all along. Not that they need much convincing at this point.

And what is it with TNs that they go straight to the altar? No kissing, no walks on the beach? No romp in the hay….just a "Let's get married!" And from Montsy's hesitation in the avances, I'm afraid it's her and Gael all over again and she's going to say I do.

Wake up, ALEJANDRO!!!!

Thanks again, Mads! Awesome as always! :)

Madelaine, sorry to hear you have been feeling ill. Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for the recap, my two favorite lines were:

"The nurse is in Ale's room and is giving him a kinda, sorta wipe down, but only on his face, more's the pity! We miss his hunkalicious self!" and...

"Dimi it seems has some collateral duty, as in watching his nephew Laurito, when the sulfur smell comes into the room and saps all the happy of it, harshing everyone's mellow!"---Fantastic!

As I said yesterday, I'm so glad Fina is back, and just when they needed her help for Ale, but its too bad they couldn't have met elsewhere. Now Pedro is not going to rest until he finds out if Nadia is alive like Jarifa said, "How long will it take before Pedro makes Nadia's life hellish in Buenos Aires?" He seems to have calmed down a bit, has a rather "normal" marriage with Amelia, perhaps because he thinks Nadia and Ale are dead.

Carlos, imagining Ale having "thoughts of his Tundra which appears to have been faithfully and loyally awaiting his return to Agua Azul."...this was so funny. I wouldn't put it past the writers to insert such a memory in there to further the ad placement!

Now going down memory lane with JL is sure to stir up a lot of the feelings Montse had for him, but I hope she takes it slow too. With Rosario's premonitions, who knows if JL can go from Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde if Ale comes back into the pic too late.

Kudos to the two actors for such a nice scene, it seemed like the beach was extremely windy that day and they were getting a lot of sand in their hair and faces. At one point, Angelique had so much sand in her eyelashes, I felt sorry for her. Also noticed how color coordinated they were, JL with his blue and lavendar outfit and Montse had the same colors in her robe. How pretty!

Maricruz

Mads..I am sorry that you gave not been feeling well and hope that you are improving.

Carlos...yikes..It is one thing for a guy to steal your wife, but driving your TRUCK....that is just too much. there are limits after all for what a man should have to endure.

Thanks Mads! I appreciate all the recappers and their wonderful work they share with us. You're great!

I so agree with UA on 'nobody can steal what you can't own' being the case with JL. I'm so sick of hearing JL say Alejandro stole Monse from him. It just doesn't work that way.

While I'm at it, I'm going to complain about stupidity of Monse and her choices. In all of Agua Azul, she can't find one man other than JL to date or just have fun with? How is she going to explain her relationship with JL when Laurito starts hearing all the stories? She owes it to herself to try a new man before she falls into JL's arms. I think she feels more obligation and pity for him than anything else. Not to mention he's not the same man she fell in love with. I think he has a very dark unappealing side and he wants to own her.
Marea Primavera

Wow! What a shocker! He is still alive! *sarcasm* Like it's sooo obvious that her husband is gonna come back! Seriously, did anyone really believe that he was dead? Like this story is SO predictable. Obviously they will end up together so why drag it any longer? Like omg give it up already! There's no element of surprise in this story! -_-

~ FeVier fan ;) P.S. FeVier did it better! He actually made everyone believe that he was dead so convincingly! Like that moment when he reveals his real self to Isa was so well done & that shocked look on her face - much more believable than this b.s.!

How dumb she is letting her past bf get back to her life that quickly just no! so annoying

~ exo binary k

Is Angelique surgically enhanced? She seems physically overdeveloped in her bikini scenes.

A
nd Josephina has lost the unibrow!

Yes, she is. When she had a supporting role in CS 09 she was "pre-op".

"He has a very dark unappealing side and he wants to own her."

Marea Primavera- Sounds a lot like Alejandro. Maybe that's just her type?

Looking forward to seeing Fina when I finally get around to watching this episode.

Gracie's character is way meaner from the previous remakes (Bodas de Odio, Amor Real). I believe the best punishment is to end up all by herself with some sort of illness or disability to understand that money is not the most important in life.

Good Morning Y'all:

Thank Y'all so much for your very kind words. I am feeling so very much better now. I had food poisoning with dehydration, but thanks to my great Doc, I am on the mend.

Urban:

Oh, I so agree with you about Dimi. This could come back to haunt him later. Sleeping with the boss is never good.

Jarifa:

Great questions! I too wonder how on earth Ale can return with the criminal charges pending. I wonder if he will have to return on the down low, like JL did when he worked as Antonio at Ale's hacienda. I can't wait to see how he returns.

Diana:

I so agree with what you said about Rosy and JL. They have both suffered so much in love, haven't they? They have both suffered, but with Rosy no one can ever replace her son. She is fiercely protective of Laurito, and I think her biggest fear about a relationship with Monse and JL would be for her to be shunted aside. She wants to remain in Laurito's life. I don't think that JL or especially Monse would shunt her aside. Rosy has been a true Mama to Monse and a soothing presence. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if Rosy would get to know JL she'd like him, I think.

JudyB:

I don't think you could eva look like Phyllis Diller, jus' saying ; ) Fina is just fab isn't she? I love how she exudes confidence now and stands straighter and has become her own woman. I can't wait to see her hit Aguazul and deal with Graceless let's say. I bet Fina now gives it back just as much as she gets! Oh, and won't Graceless just be so bent out of shape when she sees what she saw as the ugly duckling turned into such a beautiful swan! Poetic justice!

DaisynJay:

I too wish that Rosy would calm down now. I think of her as a Mama Lioness that is protecting her "cubs" from the Big Bad Wolf. Rosy listened to Ale just go on and on about how bad JL was, she can't see how good he is. You'd think she'd remember the prison time JL did for Ale, and JL saving Ale not once, but three times! Maybe this will finally open her eyes, this chat I mean.

Urban:

Graceless is all about Dimi, isn't she? I am glad he hasn't caved with her. I do think, however, that Dimi is the only one of her children she feels anything for. And you are so right about her aging. She isn't handling it well at all is she? I hope at some point we find out how she went from humble beginnings to marrying Lauro with her airs and graces, so to speak!

Emarie:

That was such an interesting story! I really think he "knew" you when you came in that room. It's really amazing what the human brain processes isn't it? Oh, I saw Capitana Monica's look of annoyance! Hopefully this won't come back to bite Dimi in the behind!

Demetrios:

Yes, SS is very evil here, isn't he? I have never seen him in a role as evil as this one! Kudos to SS for really bringing it here! I would like Graceless to suffer in some way, as she has made people suffer. I want her to feel the disdain she dishes out to others, and to have no one care about her y punto! Let's see how she likes that!

Anon 11:39:

Yes, I too want Monse to be free to love again. Rosy never had the chance to love again. If she had I think she would understand.

Neice in MD:

Yes, I am with you about the foreshadowing! JL cuts such a tragic figure doesn't he? He and Rosy have had the worst things happen to them. I want something really good to happen to these two!

Carlos:

It's time for the beanie for Ale's recovery isn't it? I so agree with you about his recovery. He hasn't really moved a muscle until this time, even though the nurse has been moving his legs, he'd have some sort of atrophy wouldn't he? Not to mention having to walk and talk all over again. It would take some time in real life. I loved your line about Festivus, it made my day!

Anon 12:17:

I don't think that JL has darkness in him, I think it's more desperation, as in if he doesn't take his chance with Monse now, he may never get another chance. I really think that is the way he feels. He finally has a chance to have the love of his life without someone trying to tear them apart. I am curious to see how this plays out.

Urban:

I agree with you about Graceless being at fault. JL, by now, should realize this.

Demetrios:

I don't think that JL wants to "own" Monse. He just wants to able to freely love his first love without all the encumbrances so to speak. His path is now clear, for the moment anyway, so I want to see what happens if/when Ale comes back.

Susanlynn:

The Letterman! What a great group and that romantic music! I bet you had a fab time. I so agree with you about Fina's inside now matching her outside. Fina has always been beautiful. Speaking of Grammy's I had two of the very best. I learned so much from the two of them and miss them both muchly.

Anon 2:52:

Fina's problem was always no support. Monse and Tia Carlotta started to make her see she was more than her outside reflected. Her journey in finding herself, hopefully, has shown her that it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, it's what's inside that matters the most. I think she'll see it at some point.

Yeah i just want Pedo and Gracie to SUFFER,may they herebly rot in the deepest bits of hell.. Robo and Por Siempre are the one of the few novelas in which i just want the villians to dissapear,to be beaten so bad they would wish they were never born, these villians make me so bloodthirsty haha ,it feels like no anvil would be good enough for these malgnacidos!

We're not even close to Karmageddon time for either Pedro or Gracie but I want to see them put in positions of not being able to harm anyone else.

As to Gracie's humble origins, that secret has to be revealed eventually. I'd love for Monserrat to wave it off as unimportant to herself while watching Gracie squirm.

Madelaine, glad to hear you're on the road to recovery. Thanks for your witty and upbeat recap. As always, it is greatly appreciated!

So many great lines in this recap, and they have all been quoted. I do have to say that I am annoyed by the fact that they are playing the same song during the Montse/JL scenes that they used to play during the Montse/Ale scenes. WTH?! Aren't those songs designated for certain couples? I don't know why it annoys me so much.

Just when I thought Gracie couldn't get any worse, she treats her grandson like crap. That poor little boy. Gracie needs to be slapped. Anyone else want to get in line?

I agree that it wasn't the smartest thing for Dimi to do (sleeping with his boss), but he also didn't commit a crime. They are both single, consenting adults. And Monica should not be upset because she knows how Dimi is with women. She would be stupid to think that Dimi would treat her any different. Plus, she was the one to ask him out. I really think that Fina is the one woman that Dimi would be faithful to.

JL is moving like a speeding train. I think the kiss between him and Montse had an awkward aftermath. I think Montse is letting him get close because she feels guilty about his sacrifice. After their kiss, she said he shouldn't have, and then almost immediately started talking about Ale. It was kind if weird. Not very romantic in my opinion.

I am very intrigued by what Rosario said to JL. There is some truth to what she said. JL has sacrificed alot for the benefit of others, and one day he is going to explode. He's like a ticking time bomb. A person can only take so much, and I fear that when Ale comes back (no spoiler here because we all know it's going to happen) JL will explode like a giant volcano.

Back to shopping...hasta pronto!

Seven years later, filthy rich with a decent makeover(except for the Princess Leia peinado) and Fina still without a man (alone at a very prestigious concerto).

I'm not a hater but I'm definitely no fan.

Oxnard...Part of the reason many of us are such fans of Fina is because we still have a charmed hangover from Gancho in which she played an absolutely crazy, captivating, incredible nymph of a gal. Stole the show and all our hearts as well. So we were ready to love her again... from the get-go...with or without a makeover or a Princess Leia hairdo.

Eli and Mads,

Thank you for your hard work and dedication for the cause - against all odds. I really appreciate it.
I posted this on Thursday's recap by mistake, but wanted it to go for both days to go to both of you
valiant recappers. I am mostly lurking. ..with much thanks.

Niecie in MD,

I still have especially fond memories of the great comments you made during our time with LVO, and there were several similar ideas we shared re Cristina Corona de Arriaga in AV.

I love your contrasting descriptions of Graciela & Rosario:

"malevolent, controlling mother - and benevolent controlling mother-in-law"

Also like the "live on lockdown" part.

What Fina said about Dimitrio was that it has been several years since she divorced him, and it is not a part of her plans to go back with him.

But, while she said it, to me she appeared uncertain and perplexed
as to what she would actually do.

What is bothering me right now is that we know nothing about what she has been doing for the past 6 or 7 years other than change her makeup, hair, and wardrobe. Supposedly, she was lost and went off to find herself and perhaps do something significant by way of a career or even run a charity of sorts with all her wealth. Exactly of what does her metamorphosis consist?

I do like the way her warm, analytical personality still comes through.

Re Dimitrio, I believe that he has not gotten over Fina; he doesn't like to talk about it, but
that's the way it is. After much soul searching, he realized that she was the Real Deal, and another pretty face and voluptuous body will not change that. Of course,
the captain may prove to have some depth to her that he likes, but Fina is still the One and Only.

He obviously did not want to be with her when she woke up. He wasn't ready for that. He also told her in the note that he had a
"compromiso." That was an excuse.
He happened to babysit for Montse while she went to the beach -
Big Deal - that was not an important engagement; that was just a spur of the moment thing which he was happy to latch onto as a cover if needed.

He was comfortable with his nephew and glad to be out of the hot seat, so to speak. It also shows of course that he will be a Family Man one day -- with Fina.

You are all far more observant than I...especially Carlos with his Eagle Eye.

Enjoying all comments.

Maria de Andrade:

It's okay. All of us need a break from this TN now and again. We really like having your here, no worries. At least we know you haven't given up. I love the Eagles and I couldn't help myself ; )

Katy:

Oh, noes, please no Gael, ugh I don't want anything resembling that in this TN! I want of them to find their happy the way they should, not necessarily with each other.

Maricruz:

That was a wonderful beach scene wasn't it? I have to admit JL is one of my favorite characters and don't want to see him go to the darkside. The feelings he's had for Monse have been there the whole time. He just hasn't been able to show them in all this time. I want to see how this relationship develops.

Marea Primavera:

I think what I like to call, the first love string is drawing them together. He's familiar, she knows him right well, now that she knows the truth she is trusting him again. She may not want to be looking for someone new. I can't wait to see what happens there.

FeVier fan ; ) or should I call you Not A Dan Fan maybe? Have you been watching this TN at all? If you had, you would know this TN has taken twists and turns we didn't expect, far better I must say than PSMA. Our villain, Pedro, is must more, how shall I put this, sophisticated and has a better henchie network than FerVier over there, on top of that the Pedro has power, which FerVier couldn't hope to gain, jus' sayin'. Oh, and our galan has a brain! 'Nuff said!

exo binary k:

It has been SEVEN Years since Ale "died". Monse has no idea he is alive. I think that space of time is a decent one, don't you?

GOBLUEFAN in Oh:

What does it matter if AB is enhanced or not? Most of us are liking her character, not what she does in real life with her boobage. I like to focus on the storyline and not what an actor/actress has done as far as their looks go. As long as they bring it to the part, that's all we should really care about, jus' sayin' : )

Vivi:

I can't wait for your take on this epi!

Anon 9:45:

I agree with what you said about Graceless, being alone, disabled and money not being the first and only thing. I haven't seen the previous versions of this, so I think she is the meanest she creature I have seen.

AuntyAnn:

I'm standing with you in line to slap the crap out of Graceless. She deserves it so badly and while we are at it we could tell her she needs Jesus, si? Oh, and some temple thumping seems in order too. Oh, about JL exploding, can you imagine what Ale would be like if he sees there is a relationship that has developed "since he's been gone'? Out of the two of them, I'd be afraid of Ale more!

Oxnard:

Fina was beautiful this whole time. I have been her biggest fan since this started. Isn't it funny how people always focus on the outside and not so much on the inside. I like what they've done with her "make over" but I would have been happy if they had just given her the confidence and self-esteem. She is very sophisticated now. I want to see how she interacts with Aguazul when she gets back.

Floridia:

I so agree with what you said about Dimi, very insightful. I too think that maybe he hasn't gotten over Fina. I too am hoping that they are together at the end. They have both evolved now into confidence and self esteem, it seems they needed this time apart to grow and evolve. I am crossing my fingers that they meet up in Aguazul.

Judy,

You are so right about how those of who watched Gancho feel about Verónica Jaspeado (our Ximena). The main reason I began watching this was because I saw that she was playing one of the characters. She hasn't disappointed one bit.

Madelaine,

"Fina was beautiful this whole time."

Yes.

"I want to see how she interacts with Aguazul when she gets back."

I think that we can safely predict that she will be as gracious as ever... only now with an air of self-confidence and poise. I certainly don't think that she needs a man for validation.

Carlos

Judy B

Thanks for the background info on Fina's past.

So she was a nymph, as in nymphomaniac?

With her wealth and her nymph past I now can see her evolving into a high class madam, servicing the descendants of all of those rich fascist families.

Mads...I agree with your "first love string" theory regarding JL and Mony. How many people have gone to a class reunion and looked for an old novio or novua. I guess people never forget their first loves.

The Lettermen were fantastic. There is only one original member, but the other two have been in the group for a long time. They showed clips of the original group on many TV shows. I remember seeing the original group twice when I was in college. That three part harmony is wonderful and dreamy.

As for the Eagles...love them. Last night, I watched a three hour show on cable called The History of the Eagles. It was very interesting. Hub and I saw Don Henley in concert with Stevie Nicks a few years ago, but I have never seen the Eagles perform. They are booked to perform in a brand new hockey arena that is being built in a nearby city, so maybe we will be able to get tickets.

Has anyone noticed that padre has been missing for seven years? Que?

I've noticed. There better be a good explanation.

Nooooo Oxnard. Nymph as in nymph. Punto.

But thanks for that delightful word picture. Maybe the lovely Marinera Captain could fulfill that dream job...

Madelaine - uh sure u can call me Not A Dan Fan. :D i don't mind at all. Anyway, no I haven't been watching this TN fully but that still doesn't change the fact that it's predictable! Like i don't need to tune in just to know what happens next! Cuz it's WAY too obvious what's gonna happen! And what twists and turns??? XD lol better than PSMA? Because of the villain? Oh, please! More sophisticated than FeVier? Really? FeVier is much more sophisticated than you realize. Like in the ep where he & Isa meet up secretly at the art gallery (i know! Such an unexpected location! XD) and he just seems to be randomly talking about an artwork that has nothing to do with the plot whatsoever! Like even Isa was confused, like where the heck is he going with this? Lol! Actually, he was making a profound statement about the beauty of an artwork like how it connects with each of the viewers differently & how it's all in "the eye of the beholder" plus other stuff! So based on that simple scene right there, what does that tell you about the "unsophisticated" villain? :O And he does have better henchmen cuz he knows how to use them! Like Isa's chauffeur, for example. Ha ha, so clever! And what do you mean he doesn't have power??? Of course he does! Don't you realize he has people aka "connections" that helps him get what he wants? Plus, the alliances he makes makes things much more easier & convenient for him to carry on with his plans and that's a smart & dangerous villain right there who does everything in his power to get the job done! ;) And as for your "galan" - pfft! What brain? His unconscious one that's sleeping on the job? XD lol I guess your idea of a galan is a male version of sleeping beauty - 'nuff said!

~ FeVier fan ;)

I think this particular flavor of Telenovela is an acquired taste. Yeah, they are kind of predictable. The main thing that is the most predictable is that no one is allowed to be happy for very long.

So of course, Ale won't wake up until JL and Monse have made enough of a connection for there to be suffering all around for everyone when he does wake up.

And the big issues won't be resolved until the 2 hour finale. Yup, it's predictable. And yet, we watch.

Mads thanks so much for your recap and so sorry to hear that you have been ill. I hope you recover fully soon.

I'm so psyched Fina is back. I am interested to see how the writers move the story now (with Dim and Monica). And I'm dreading more of Pedro's reign of terror. Though the good guys are down they are not completely out and that's a plus (unlike PSMA).

I really hope that JL doesn't turn into a bad seed. If there were someone like our EJ who could help him to readjust it would be ideal. And EJ you and your family are in my prayers, best wishes.

Different strokes for different folks, for sure!
I LOVE watching these tns without taxing my brain much (if at all) ... I watch to laugh when they (writers) don't mean for me to laugh and to check out how close my predictions come to the show (verrry close) ... and to enjoy the eye candy and the (occasionally) good acting. Yup! Love how predictable it all is, I'm having fun, along with a couple of other people who sometimes watch with me. We are a mini-Caray, Caray, only in person - Caramba, Caramba!

Dearest Mads,
So sorry to read you've been feeling sick, but glad to know you are better!

Thanks so much for the wonderful recap, as always. It was very rich, detailed, funny, and I loved especially your comments about how the nurse talked to Alejandro in his coma. Reminded me of Almodóvar's Hable Con Ella--not sure if other's have seen this one or not, but I think it's my favorite of his films that I've seen.

Looking forward to this week on our show!

Elna June: Still thinking of you with your move and sending you my best!

Thanks again, Mads!

*other's should be OTHERS. If my students saw that mistake I'd never live it down!

JudyB, your I would have greeted the morning looking like Phyllis Diller. ... and ... (Fina's) princess Leia hairdo hadme choking on my coffee... what a vision!
Carlos, 'wondrous Festive Miracle' and 'pretty vegetable' had me putting my coffe down!
i am trying to watch some of this since I like Luis Roberto's performance (JL) here... you can never tell for sure what he's up to.
Glad to see our friends DaisynJay and SusanLynn here as well..

Yes, Josefina is really pretty, both the actresses playing Josefina here (Veronica) and in the 'Amor Real' version (Mariana Levy QEPD) are beautiful women who were made to look very gruesome at first.

Carlos and all.. i totally agree that they could have done much more to make Ale really look like he has been a vegetable for 7 yrs.

Susanlynn:

I'm curious too about the Padre being missing for seven years and no one mentioned him! Rosy was always talking to him as was Mac, so I have been wondering what they have been thinking all this time! Was he ever replaced with a new Padre, what have they said about his not being around? Speaking of which, what has happened to BM? Where did she go? Hmmmm.......

Urban:

Well said! There better be a good explanation!

FeVier fan ; )

I guess I will agree to disagree with you! This TN may be "predictable", but as Emarie says we still watch, because most of us love these characters. Especially "Sleeping Prince, Ale.

Emarie:

I think we watch this TN, because we love the characters. It has become dark and heavy, but there is always a sliver of hope!

Karen:

So agree with you about our good guys! They all do have a brain. I'm very happy that Fina is back too!

Carlos:

You are so right, Fina does not need a man to validate her at all! What I'd really like to see when Fina goes back to Aguazul is a run in with Graceless!

Anon 11:39:

Your comment made me laugh. I am glad you have a group you watch this with and have fun doing it, sort of like a Caray Caray Patio! Welcome!

Julia R:

I will have to check out "Hable con Ella", it sounds interesting.

Marta:

I am so glad you are watching this one. One of my favorite characters is JL! I have never seen this actor in a TN before and I really like him! And it's true, we don't know what he is going to do next. Interesting!

Mads, he played a very troubled 'Gabriel' in Entre El Amor y el Odio, which re-aired recently in Telefutura, I believe.
Then he played the villain cousin in Alborada, had the lead in El Pantera tv series and now here... he grew up in the area where I used to go to church as a kid in PR... i also grew up around there.

duh! of course i am talking about Luis Roberto Guzman (JL).

Mads- Thanks again for this great recap. We are so lucky to have you back in fine form.

I watched this last night. I love that we got to see both Fina and Dimi interacting with children. I think it was definitely foreshadowing and very cute.

I don't agree that Monse is going along with JL because she feels sorry for him. She seems to fully be participating in this mating dance. I am really not looking forward to Ale and JL going at each like raging bulls again. Been there, done that. I hope Ale wakes up with a new-- saner, less jealous and possessive- personality. That would at least change the dynamics of the Fight for Barbie/Monse-Part 2.

I cracked up laughing during the LONG beach remembrance scene when Monse was by herself. All that posing and posturing, and pointy toes. I sure hope AB took advantage of that and had some shots done for her pinup calendar. :)

I think its funny that after everything JL has done for Ale that Rosario can "see the darkness" underneath in JL. And yet while her own son was treating his wife, very openly like crap, she said very little against her son. Montse has always had more to fear from Ale than JL.

Floridia - Nice to see you here.

I don't see JL as dark either. He has a tendency to hurt himself, not others. Remember his old "mátame!" days in the face of danger when he was a sweaty fugitive? And let's see, so far he's been willing let Ale shoot him (cause we know which one was really better with a gun) and to go to prison in place of Ale. I predict more self-sacrifice in his future.

Niecie- I agree that JL is more prone to self destruction than to lashing out at others (like Alejandro). Maybe there are trying to tell us that New JL is no longer willing to play the martyr?

Vivi i think your hopes for Ales "undemoning" are just your sweet dreams.Ale will most likely return pissed , hurt ,and humiliated as ever ,even more then in the "Dark Ages" ,when he was angsted with Monse and JL. Unless Fabiola has a mental reincarnation( Angie aint a promise breaker!) ,JL will end up hurt, alone or even dead

Niecy and Vivi, I agree on your point on JL being more sacrificial than Ale... even allowing Ale to shoot first.

Everybody can't wait to see Fina go toe-to-toe with Graciela, but she will have to get by Montse first.

Does anyone here think that Montse's family will forgive Fina for abandoning Dimi to "find" herself, (whatever the hell that means)? Montse will tell Fina to go pound sand if Fina ever tries to cozy up with her.

Let's put it this way, Fina was a doormat; now, after she found herself, she's rich but basically unchanged from where I sit. I didn't see any notable signs of increased confidence or self-esteem since she resurfaced.

She got a makeover and has money people, that's it.

And, if Dimi wants to give up a raving beauty like Monica for Fina, then those two deserve to bore each other for eternity.

After everything that Dimitrio put Fina through, I don't see where her family has any right to feel that she needs to be forgiven - or to somehow withhold that forgiveness. Montse and Carlota know how much she suffered and that she had a right to do what she did for herself, so they won't hold anything against her. Graciela made sure that "esa cosa" left her Bebe, thinking her unworthy. She'll probably now change her tune, though, and make it seem as though she did, in fact, abandon Dimi - looking to grab some of Fina's million$. Hopefully, Josefina will look at Graciela as if she's lower than low ... a bug to be squashed under her shoe. Fina owes nobody anything. The problem now, though, is that with her new-found poise, elegance and enhanced beauty, Slimy Adolfito will again make a play for her. I hope he doesn't bring her up on Pedro's radar. If Pedro learns she's been to Argentina, he might jump to the conclusion that she's been helping Nadia (and Victor/Victoria) all this time instead of just recently bumping into them.

I don't think Monserrat would give Fina any grief; she knows how Dimitrio treated her for so long because she was on the receiving end of a lot of the same disrespect.

She also knows that Gracie was the MIL from Hell.

Josefina may say she isn't getting back with Dimitrio but wait until she sees him in his dress uniform now that he's an officer.

I also don't think Monica is that beautiful. She isn't exactly a buttaface, but she's no beauty pageant winner.

Coming late to the party. Wanted to say thank Mads and glad to see you’re better.

I can see it now. Fina blurting out when she sees Mons “I thought you were dead!” "Uh! Who told you that?”

I don’t think Fina looks that different or acts that different. More stylish and more confident, yes. But she’s still the same kind, sweet person she was before. When I saw her in that pant outfit at the hospital, I thought it looked liked a more stylish version of what she wore before. Just goes to show that she's still, funamentally, our Fina

JuliaR: I love Almodóvar's work (what I’ve seen of it). Thanks for the recommendation re: Hable Con Ella.

Carvivlie: “Montse has always had more to fear from Ale than JL.”---excellent point.

Here's hoping Monica doesn't go all Fatal Attraction on Dim's a$$. I don't trust her.

Nanette

Anon 5:22: you brought up some disturbing thoughts about Aldolfo and Pedro. Ugh!

UA: it's all subjective of course, but I don't think Monica is that attractive, either. She is attractive, but Fina is luminous.

Fina is luminous, but guys don't always go for luminous. Between Monica and Fina, Fina is the one I would mostly want for my BFF. But then, I am not a guy...
Monica's body in her see through mesh dress looked like my Barbie's molded body. And I think she fits the description of the girl guys in single ads ask for,
"Romantic guy looking for athletic girl, must be under 30 years of age, beautiful and slender...must love camping, kayaking and hiking..."

Emarie: in other words, superficial.

Nanette,

"...she’s still the same kind, sweet person she was before..."

"Monica..is attractive, but Fina is luminous."

That's exactly how I see things.

I anticipate Fina will treat Graciela respectfully and graciously but without the same uncertain deference as before.

Carlos

Carlos: "I anticipate Fina will treat Graciela respectfully and graciously but without the same uncertain deference as before." and won't Gracie just HATE that! Yay!!!!

Looking forward to Maria's return?
