EN OTRA PIEL – LUNES – Part 1

We again see Mondriana in a deep depression over the “track record” of Gerardo with older women. She calls Selma, who tells her about Valeria fainting after seeing Judge Pervo on TV announcing his candidacy for US Senate. Mondi is on her way to Selma’s, opens the door, and there’s Gerardo. She slaps him – hard and call him a desgraciado. Then she snarls at him that maybe he forgot what he did. She seems to have forgotten that she is in Adriana’s body and addresses him as would Mónica Serrano upon finding out she’d been the victim of a fortune hunter.

Rodrigo tells Ricardo and Gabriel he’s going back to work at his bookstore because … he doesn’t exactly say it, but it’s because he misses Marta less away from the apartment. Ricardo then runs out, leaving Gabriel with the dishes. I’ve felt all along that these two actors are very natural as brothers.

Jennifer has returned home. At first we see her from the back and then she collapses on the floor sobbing. We then see that she’s been beaten. We also see that Gabriel is calling her, but she doesn’t answer.

Gerardo tells Mondriana he doesn’t know what she’s talking about. He thinks she’s jealous and tells her there’s no one else [Riiiiiight.] She tells him she doesn’t want a scandal here, but never in his life will he again touch her and leaves.

Rodrigo tells Gabriel that he also agrees with Marta about Jennifer being a good person. The only thing that worries him is that she’s from the other neighborhood. He tells Gabriel that he’s sure that it was one of the Perros, a dangerous group indeed, who shot him.

We see Jennifer’s memories of Rottweiler beating her up in the back seat of a car. She bravely calls him poco hombre. He responds that Gabriel will be the poco hombre when he catches him. She still doesn’t answer Gabriel’s calls.

Elena waltzes in the front door and bites off Camila’s head when she says she’s worried she didn’t sleep there the night before. Elena recovers herself and then, seeing Gerardo, goes on another rant about how much it bothers her about Gerardo ending up with her aunt’s fortune. She’s still in a snit because he didn’t stay in bed with her that morning. She walks by and tells him she hopes he enjoyed his walk. Camila walks into the kitchen and all but sours the food Marta, Emiliana and Susi are eating.

Elena goes into her bedroom and, whoops, Mondi left the step stool by the shelves where Elena keeps her secrets. She opens the box and finds the flash drive and sighs with relief. Judge Pervo calls her and she snarks something about his not being dead yet. [I gotta comment about Elena’s clothes. Every outfit has a short, flared skirt that makes her rear end look huge. Awful look.]

Mondriana arrives at Selma’s and tells her that Judge Pervo destroyed Valeria’s life. Mondi says they have to do something. This guy can’t end up in the US Senate.

EN OTRA PIEL – LUNES – Part 2

At the Larrea offices Gerardo is using Ernesto as his sounding board as usual. He tells him that it must have been Elena who said something to Mónica. Ernie is not emotionally involved and logically asks him if he thinks that’s all Elena would do if she discovered his and the governess’ relationship. Ernesto also says Gerardo should find out ASAP if Mónica discovered that he and Elena murdered Mónica Serrano. He thinks she’d rat them out. Gerardo insists that Mónica is different; she’s noble and loyal. He says she’s hurting for something she was told and he has to find out who told her. Ernesto says it’s time to forget her.

Mondriana tells Selma that, in addition to the video of Judge Pervo, she found lots of photos of Gerardo and other women, mature women like she was when she married him. They were women who were wealthy, with good jewelry, who were all clearly in love with him, falling in his trap, just like she did. She says that Camila was right and she just didn’t want to hear it. She says Gerardo is nothing but a gigolo. She says she’s ashamed to have been another mature woman that he seduced and ashamed that she thought she could cause a man 15 years younger to fall in love with her. Selma tells her the guy is obviously a professional, and she shouldn’t blame herself.. Mondi says she knows she has to put it behind her and concentrate on getting back for her daughters what is rightfully theirs.

Maite apparently called Diego and he catches up with she and Eileen. They tell him Valeria saw the rapist on TV and fell apart. They also tell him her psychologist has been called.

Ernesto tells his brother they’ll make a pact. He’ll try to find out if Camila said something to Mónica that would have caused her to change. Gerardo says he loves her and wants her for himself. Ernesto says that the itch is over. He took her to bed and he should now forget her. [What a guy!] He also says that Gerardo loved Elena. Gerardo dismisses this out of hand. He feels something for Mónica that he’s never felt for any woman before.

Just then Jorge Larrea walks into the room. Gerardo is disconcerted to see him, but he recovers and shakes his hand. He tells him he was surprised by the resemblance to photos Mónica had shown him of her deceased husband. Jorge says he was in town for some business and he felt nostalgia for the business he started long ago with his brother. He asks for a tour.

Diego storms down the street threatening to break Figueroa in two. Maite stops him, saying no one would believe a couple of mojados muertos de hambre.

During the winery tour, Jorge tells Gerardo about he and his brother being two crazy guys starting such a business. The very best decision they made was buying the old barrels to age their wine from a French winery that closed its doors because there were no heirs to run it. The barrels are more than 100 years old and give the wines their special character. Gerardo’s ears perk up at Jorge’s repetition of “our wines” and says he thought Jorge had no interest in the business. Jorge tells him he owns the vineyards where the grapes are grown. Gerardo says he thought it was Tomas Maldonado, and Jorge says Tomas is the person he left in charge for many years. But he thinks it’s time to take back control. Gerardo asks what made him change his mind, and he says it was a favor for an old friend. He tells Gerardo that, without his grapes, the Larrea wines would not exist, so this makes us forced associates! Talking with Ernesto afterwards, Gerardo says that Jorge is another pebble in his shoe!

EN OTRA PIEL – LUNES – Part 3

Diego comes to Selma’s along with Maite. He puts his arms around her. Mondriana gives him an awkward look and leaves.

Gabriel has come to where Jennifer usually does her street vendor work, but she’s not there and a guy who knows her says she didn’t show up that day.

Selma and Mondriana are talking in a sidewalk café. Selma says it’s fortunate that Valeria has so many friends, including Diego. Mondriana says he’s a tipazo and she completely understands why Adriana Aguilar would have fallen in love with him. She feels bad that she can’t give him any hope since she has to protect her daughters from Gerardo’s manipulations. [What happened to her initial statement: Elena and Gerardo? She seems to be completely letting Elena off the hook in this whole thing.]

Valeria apologizes meekly for having put her three friends through this. She says she doesn’t want to feel that way all the time. Diego asks for the guy’s name. Maite: Manuel Figueroa. Valeria tells him that Mónica said she’d take care of it. Diego: What? How? and then he runs out.

Selma to Mondriana: Are you sure? This seems dangerous. Mondi replies that she’ll do whatever’s necessary; she refuses to continue to be the victim. Selma says that she and Esteban will help.

Camila is working late when Ernesto slithers in to invite her for something to eat (pump her for information). He asks her to confide in him. She tells him she can’t stand being around Gerardo. Ernesto agrees that he’s a big pain! She snarls that he deceived her fool of a mother saying that he loved her, but she has discovered that he had a lover. Ernesto asks how she found that out. She doesn’t really answer, but unleashes some venom asking him how could someone think such a much younger man would fall for her. Please. Thanks to her mother she has to put up with Gerardo both at home and at work.

We now go to Figueroa’s campaign kickoff party. We hear an introduction audio portion praising him to the skies as a defender of women! Selma has arrived with Esteban.

Gabriel insists he’s going to see about Jennifer. Rodrigo tries to tell him how dangerous it is for him to be seen in that neighborhood, but Gabe leaves anyway.

Jorge comes to Casa Serrano and scares Marta. He hastens to assure her that he’s Jorge, the brother of Julián. Elena is descending the stairs and is frozen at the sight of him. She remembers killing him by throwing a rock at him after he rejected her. She recovers and offers him some of the special reserve Larrea wine. He flatters her a bit.

Judge Pervo begins his announcement speech. In addition to Selma, Maite, Mondriana, and Valeria are there. Diego has also come. Mondriana reassures Valeria that this will be worth it. The judge says he will show a video of his plan once he’s elected. And, whaddya know, Mondriana has managed to substitute the video of his beating the prostitute. We can clearly see it’s him at the beginning, and we see the shocked face of his wife in the front row. Several women jump up angrily denouncing him. Zoweee!

AVENIDA BRASIL Seg-feira

I checked my cable grid and there IS an episode on Friday. I will be unable to recap this coming Friday and next Monday, because Mr. Mads is having knee surgery. If someone would like to put up a brief summary on those days it would be great and thank you.

Part I

Jori and Nina are detained for this money in the suitcase. They both protest they are innocent, but there will be an investigation and they are put in jail.

Meanwhile Zenon, Tifon and Carm are still at the airport when Zenon tells Tifon that the amount was 500,000 mil. Carm is all over that saying this is the same amount from the kidnap and Zenon is going to check it out. Carm is saying that Jori must be strong and Tifon is a mite suspicious and Carm hugs him and grins her evil grin.

Leleco has schlepped over to Tiradero looking for Nilo. With the help of one of the kids, he finds him and asks if he knows Max. Well Nilo only talks if he's paid, and since Leleco has no lana, he isn't talking. Leleco leaves and the kid tells him not to believe anything Nilo says, he lies. The kid tells Leleco he has seen Max with Nilo at Tiradero before. Leleco gives him some pocket money and thinks.

Max has come to Jan's looking for Lucio. Jan warns him to stay away from her son. She throws him out, but he warns Jan there will be trouble.

Tifon and Carm watch Nina and Jori being arrested. Nina curses Carm and Jori tells Tifon to remember that Genesio had a daughter, Nina. Carm plays the theatrics card.

Max goes to the cabin, encounters Lucio and isn't pleased. Lucio informs him he's been replaced and that he is so much better than Max. Max gets a beatdown from Lucio and Max ends up going, bloody and bruised.

The Federale tells Nina and Jori that the money wasn't declared and he seperates Nina and Jori. Nina asks for a phone call, she has five minutes and calls Mama L and tells her what happened. Mama L and Betania will get her a lawyer.

Carm tells the family that money if from her kidnap and Jori could be an accomplice. Tifon is upset, the whole family believes Nina is the guilty party and is drug addicted and got Jori onto drugs too. Ivana wonders if Jori could really be involved, Tifon isn't buying it and Leleco isn't either. Of course now Ivana is riddled with guilt cause she is the one that brought Nina to them. Max comes home all beaten up and tells them he saved some girl in the barrio from being assaulted. They tell him about Nina and Jori and that the money they found on them was the exact amount from the kidnap.

Zenon tells Carm, Tifon and Leleco that some of this money was from the kidnap, some of it was marked and they found it amongst this money (Thanks Jean). Carm wants to bring charges against Nina, but it will also involve Jori. He'll be charged as an accomplice. Carm is insistent on this. Max comes in and accuses Jori of being the mastermind, no one agrees with him, they all believe Nina is guilty. Leleco wants Tifon to go talk to Jori but calmly.

Suelen is with Leandro at his new place and giving him a pep talk and she also gives him a shirt with her picture on it. She wants him to wear it to his next game, sort of like a good luck charm.

Nina talks to Mama L and Betania, they visit her in the jail. Nina is sure that Carm set this up. They are going to get Nina a good lawyer.

AVENIDA BRASIL Seg-feira

Muricy is glad that Nina is in the jail. Tifon is going out. Carm goes to the library and Max follows. He accuses her of using his money to set this up. She calls him ridiculous and that Lucio is a way betta lova than him.

Santi is in his shop, when Mama L comes and asks a favor. She needs lana to get Nina a lawyer, cause Carm has done something really bad to Nina. Santi agrees to help her.

Leleco has a chat with Max as he is working out. Leleco sees that Max likes living the high life. Leleco is after him again about Tiradero. Leleco doesn't believe anything Max tells him about Carm, meeting her and how long he's known her.

Leandro is playing soccer with is new Club Flamenco and he's doing a much better job than last time. He makes one heck of a goal and the team wins. After the win, he pulls his jersey up, and shows Suelen he was wearing her shirt. All of Divino sees it too, they were watching as was Roni, and he goes off.

Carlitos was watching the game too and is sweaty. He goes home, he kisses all three of his women and they say he stinks. They are cleaning the place.

Jori is in the cell when Tifon comes for a visit. Tifon asks the guard for alone time and it is granted. Jori thanks him for the lawyer and then tells Tifon that Carm and Max are responsible for the kidnap, Max is his bio Papa as well as Agatha's. Max and Carm have been lovas for many years and that Carm and Max scammed Genesio. Tifon isn't buying it. Jori also tells him that Carm was the one that planted the drugs on Nina and now this money. Tifon refuses to believe it and isn't feeling well. Jori also tells him that Nina had compromising pics of Carm and Max and that Carm stole them too.

Pilar (Alexia's Mama) and Carlitos are at Divino the bar when Pilar lets slip she knows all about that $5 million Carlitos has in Switzerland and that Alexia told her. Opppsy, Alexia will kill her if she finds out she told Carlitos. Carlitos isn't happy to hear this.

Tifon is thinking that Nina purposely seduced both him Jori. He agrees with Carm that this is all Nina's doing. Jori says he felt paralyzed when he found out his Papa was in love with Nina. He does tell Tifon, about his chat with Sergio, the guy that set up that kidnap and that he said Carm and Max set it up. He tells Tifon to talk to him, he knows. Jorgi goes back to his cell and Tifon thinks.

Tifon comes home and tells the familia about his visit with Jori and that Max is the Papa of both Jori and Agatha and that Carm and Max have been lovas for many years. No one buys it especially Ivana and Muricy, but Leleco does. He says Jori told him the same thing. Leleco tells them about his trip to Tiradero. The feel Jori and Nina made this up. Nina is guilty, that money is proof. Tifon tells the familia is going to look for Sergio. Leleco it turns out knows Sergio, he's a mechanic. Zeze comes in and tells them what she told Jori about the day of the kidnap and they take her with them to look for Sergio.

Carm is all happy she is getting her way. The whole familia talks about Nina's guilt. They also tell her the Max is the bebe daddy and she gets all theatrical again. Nina made this up too, she's perverse. They also tell her that Tifon went looking for Sergio.

Carm goes to her room all "upset" and Max comes in. She tells him about the search for Sergio and if he talks they are toast. She also tells him the bebe daddy story. She wants Max to do something. He's not doing squat for her, he wants his money back. She gives him 100,000 mil and he wants to take their money and go on the yacht away from here. Carm tells him the money was confiscated, Tifon will get it back eventually. He goes and she calls him an idiot.

AVENIDA BRASIL Seg-feira

Part III

Sergio is having a drink when Max finds him and tells him to go stay with his brother, or else the cops are looking for him. Max threatens Sergio and his familia if he talks. Later, Zenon, Tifon, Leleco and Zeze are in the barrio, Zeze spots Sergio and the chase is on. Sergio gets away.

Carm goes to visit Nina in jail. Nina tells Carm she should be sitting in the jail. Carm has an offer for Nina, Carm will get Nina out of jail, if she leaves for Argentina and never comes back. Nina says that Carm destroyed her whole life. Carm informs her everyone believes that Nina is guilty. Think about it she says and goes.

Carm is home and does the theatrics of how she feels "abandoned" and all of the lies that Jori told about her, re: Max. Oh, and it's all Nina's doing. Muricy assures her that things will be fine now that Nina is gone.

Debs goes to visit Jori in jail. Iran wasn't happy she went, cause Jori called her. He tells her he told Tifon the whole truth. Debs feels badly for all the hell Nina has been through with Carm. Jori asks for a favor. Later, Debs goes to visit Nina and tells her that Jori told Tifon all. Debs tells her that Carm is blaming Nina for everything, including the kidnap. Nina tells Debs, Tifon and familia have no idea how dangerous Carm is.

Carm is all pithed at home, Max denies he's the baby daddy, it's all a fantasy of Nina's. They ask Muricy if Jori would be capable of kidnapping his own Mama. The talk turns to Carm's having that 750,000 mil in her very own account. Carm isn't there when they talk about it. And what about Genesio. Ivana blames Nina. Here's a thought. Get DNA from Max on the sly and compare already!

Carm is adamant about having Nina charged with kidnapping, but Tifon reminds her that Jori will be charged as an accomplice. Zenon does say that Nina's charge is the more serious one and Max says that Jori should be equally punished. Tifon doesn't really care about the money. Carm is going ahead with the accusation and says to rely on the lawyer, he'll get Jori out. Ivana thinks that soon the money will be returned along with Jori. Carm is going to church, yeah right!

Zenon wants to go to the jail with Tifon, but Tifon goes with Leleco. This is Jori's lucky day, he's out of the jail. Jori asks after Nina, well she's staying in jail, they won't help her. Jori tells Tifon and Leleco if they aren't going to help her, he's staying in the jail. He isn't leaving until Nina is free. Oi, Oi, Oi!!!

AVENIDA BRASIL, Segunda-feira

Line o' the day:

Muricy: "I know a criminal when I see one...I can tell by the smell...etc.

Of course, Max and Carmina have been right under her nose for 12 years now...

***

Not only did the boy tell Leleco that he's seen Max at the tiradero, he told him Max grew up there. Our bloodhound is on the trail. He needs to look into the goings on at Tifón's charitable foundation.

And, I found it interesting that Santiago said to Lucinda that he wishes he never had Carmina.

En Otra Piel:
Thanks, Novelera, for the great recap. Wow, this looks like the end of the pervy judge's career. Of course, now he will want revenge on whoever outed him. I wonder if the investigation into the judge will examine his decisions, such as Monica's will.

Does Mondriana know about Gerardo and Elena? I don't think so. She suspects that they were working together to get Monica's money but does she know that they are lovers?

Avenida Brasil:
You are right, Mads, there will be an episode on Fri. I swear that my DVR didn't show it before.

Finally, Jorge tells Tifon the truth. Of course, Tifon doesn't believe him - yet. Leleco is on the case.

If only part of the money that was planted on Nina was from the ransom, doesn't that cast doubt on the story that this 500,000 is the ransom money? Of course the fact that some of it is the marked ransom money is pretty damning.

I just loved Carlitos and his 3 society ladies turned house fraus vacuuming and doing the dishes. Where do they all sleep in that little house? Meanwhile Carlitos is happy as a clam in Divino, wearing the team jersey, etc.

Poor Roni now that Suelen has abandoned him for Leandro. He should get his act together on the football pitch and show everyone that he is as good or better than Leandro.

AVENIDA BRASIL General

Sue 455:

The line of the day cracked me up! Thank you so much. Yeah, you'd think she would have "sniffed" them out already, lol.

Thanks also for the added bits I missed. I used to think that Leleco wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but right now he has more smarts than the whole familia. But then again, I remember in the beginning of this TN he has always been a bit suspicious of Carm. He was so happy when Carm and Tifon separated. I am also glad the kid told Leleco that Max grew up in Tiradero. Now Leleco has more to go on.

I want to hear this backstory of Santi and Mama L and also Carm. Why is it that they both can't stand Carm? What could she have done?

AVENIDA BRASIL General

Jean:

That was my exact question about this money. Not all of it is marked, even though the bit that is is damning. If Tifon would just sit and talk to Nina, without interruption, maybe he'd start to see the light. I wish Mama L would just talk and tell Tifon what she knows. She is the one that holds all the secrets. Oh, Tifon knows Jori better than anyone, why would he think that Jori is lying about Carm? Tifon already caught Carm in one huge one before, about her dropping Jori off in Tiradero and being his bio Moms. I think Tifon is not thinking clearly because Nina rejected him and now he's all out of sorts. Once he gets past that, I think he'll start thinking again.

I never thought Carlitos would be happy being "poor", but he seems to really being enjoying himself. He was even before his women moved in with him. I am enjoying those scenes, too funny.

I think Roni is a better player than Leandro. I think Roni held back before because he wanted Leandro to get a spot on a bigger team. I want to see what Roni does now.

AVENIDA:

Thanks Mads! I saw parts of this epi. Things aren't looking great for Nina right now. Thank goodness Jorgito finally opened his mouth (if a bit late). Even though Tifon isn't ready to accept the truth right now, his brain is churning, and Leleco is prodding him to keep asking questions. It won't be long before he finds a hole in Carmina's story that opens his eyes.

Of course, Lucinda could clear up this whole mess right now by opening her mouth, and a DNA test (without telling Max) would also be pretty darn easy with him living under the same roof.

AVENIDA:

I have also been wondering about the sleeping arrangements in that small house with 1 husband; 3 wives; 3 kids; and 1 mother-in-law! Carlitos really is enjoying himself, but not so much now that he knows the whole family knows he has a secret stash with $5 million. I guess he's disappointed because he thought they were all sticking by him in poverty because they love him that much, not because they know he still has money. I do believe the wives all love him, even if he were really poor, and even though they whine about it.

I'm disappointed in Suelen (but not surprised) that she has thrown over Roni for Leandro because it looks like Leandro will be more successful. Mads, I agree that Roni held back because he wanted to give Leandro the opportunity to go to the big leagues. I still don't really understand that ménage à trois relationship.

Avenida Brasil-

A DNA test is a good idea but the residents of the mansion are so sure that Carmina is innocent that instead of stealing Max's hairbrush or something, they would blab about it and give Carmina the opportunity to substitute the DNA sample to make sure that the test showed that Max wasn't Jorge's and Agata's father.

I can't wait until the day that Muricy has to eat a lot of crow.

En Otra Piel

Jean, I'm sure Mondriana doesn't know Elena and Gerardo are lovers. It was Selma, I think, perhaps before Mondi even got her hands on the flash drive, who said that Elena could have had a side deal with Gerardo to falsify the will. But now she's hell-bent on getting revenge on Gerardo and doesn't appear see the truly dangerous one of that pair, much less suspect the murder.

AVENIDA BRASIL TRC-feira

Part I

We are back to the jail where Jori has told Leleco, Tifon and Zenon he isn't leaving jail without Nina. Leleco advises Jori to act like an adult and go home. Of course they still think Nina is guilty. Later at home, Jori tries to tell them that Carm is the evil one and not Nina. They don't buy it, they go and Jori cries in frustration.

Later Leleco and Tifon have a drink at the Divino Bar. Leleco points out that those pics that are missing, how strange! Tifon thinks this whole thing is like a plot from a movie. Leleco wants Tifon to go to Tiradero and talk to Mama L. It's all connected to that place.

Carm has bought Lucio lots of things. New shirt, new watch, but it's not a Rolex, it's one you can buy anywhere. Max comes and sees the whole thing and is pithed. He tells Lucio not to believe a word Carm says, all of it is lies. She'll promise Lucio the moon, and will never deliver. Lucio tries to beat up Max again but Carm stops him and throws Max out. As he goes he warns Carm that now Tifon could demand DNA and Carm wants him to far away. After Max goes, Carm asks Lucio for that video he took of Nina and Max. She is gonna show it to the familia.

Tifon and Leleco go to Tiradero to speak to Mama L. Pico tells them she isn't there. Nilo sees them though and talks to Tifon. He asks about Max and Nilo says oh the one married to Ivana. Tifon wants to know if Carm and Max knew each other at Tiradero, Nilo evades. They end up leaving and Nilo gives Mama L crap.

Familia is at home when a little package arrives, it contains a DVD. It is anonymous. She pops it in and it's that video of Nina and Max on the boat. Of course this is all Nina's fault, she is a ho. Aduato, bless his heart, isn't buying it. Muricy agrees with all Carm has said about Nina. They give Tifon heck and Muricy claims Nina seduced all the guys in the familia, well not Aduato he says. Leleco hugs Ivana as she cries.

Jori visits Nina in jail. She is free. Santi got her the lawyer. Nina asks after Tifon, yes, he still believes Carm.

Mama L thanks Santi for the lawyer and thinks maybe it's time they tell the truth. If they do, Santi washes his hands. Mama L gives him a strange look.

Jori has brought Nina home. She is happy to be there, but still bothered people think she seduced Tifon and Max. She wants to go tell Tifon her side of the story and Jori tells her to wait.

Ivana is in a bad way, wailing and crying as Muricy gives her something to calm her. Leleco wants to check out this latest thingy with the DVD and Muricy tells him to stop. Tifon wants to know who sent it. Carm says Nina of course, who else. Tifon thinks not. Max comes home and gets hell from everyone. He tries to CYA (Cover His A$$) by saying Nina seduced him, Nina set this up, she is trying to blackmail him. Carm is watching Max squirm. Ivana wants to know why Max never told her this was going on. She's caught him in the kitchen with Nina lots of times, he claims he talks to all the staff. Leleco watches all this and wonders.

Ivana and Max have gone to their room and Max is still protesting he is innocent. Ivana brings up Sheila, first it was her, and now Nina. Ivana throws Max out of the room, he can sleep elsewhere, she doesn't care.

Nina answers the house buzzer phone and tells Jori he has a package. It's Ivana with that DVD and she is screaming at Nina and calls for Jori. Ivana hates Nina she can't believe her friend did this to her. Jori defends Nina and says she seduced no one. He tells Ivana about the bebe daddy being Max and that Carm and Max lovas for many years. She doesn't buy it. She wants Jori to open his eyes before it's too late, or else he will lose his Tia. She goes and Nina and Jori very upset, Nina says Carm made sure the whole familia saw this DVD.

AVENIDA BRASIL TRC-feira

Max confronts Carm in the sauna about the DVD. Carm doesn't want to be caught alone with him again. Carm thinks Max is jealous of Lucio and slimes on Max. He starts choking her and tells he she doesn't know what he is capable of. He goes.

Max follows Lucio on his moto and runs him over. He gets out, looks at him and then goes.

The familia is at table and it's silent for once. Aduato can't believe it's so quiet. Tifon is going for a drink with friends and Leleco. Carm doesn't want him to leave her, not even for a second. He needs some type of freedom he says and goes, avoiding Carm's kiss. Carm is pithed.

Nina tells Jori, Mama L will never talk. Jori calls the house, finds out where Tifon is and they go.

Carlitos and Alexia and he's trying to fix the outdoor shower. She's mad, it's not working, he can't fix it, he tells her he wants a woman that loves him for himself and not his lana. She swears she does and he says they could live off that $5 mil for the rest of their lives. They get busy. He isn't leaving Divino just yet.

Aduato is wondering if Max is the Papa of Jori when the hospital calls and tells Jan about Lucio.

Tifon and Leleco having their drink when Jori and Nina comes. She wants him to listen to her, uninterrupted so he can learn her side of the story. He doesn't want to, but gives in. She tells him about the kidnap being engineered by Max and Carm, she tried to stop it, how Max and Carm have been lovas for many years and they cheated Genesio. Tifon thinks that Nina is Max's amante, he won't listen, he believes what he wants to believe. Nina tells Tifon that Mama L and Nilo know the truth. Jori even tells Tifon about Santi, but he isn't buying that either. Nina can understand why they don't believe her, but just think about what she said. As Jori and Nina go off they argue a bit. Leleco and Tifon think if Carm and Max did lie, this is really bad. Tifon also thinks Lucio is a liar.

Carm is going to the hospital with Jan. Lucio in a bad way.

Jan and Carm get to the hospital and look for Lucio and find him in the corridor, no Doc. Carm raises a stink and wants to move Lucio to a private hospital. Carm wakes Lucio, tells him Max did this and she will get him back.

Ivana tries to call Carm, no answer and Max comes home, they tell him about Lucio.

Jan tells Carm she wants Lucio to stay in hospital for tests. She dropped Tifon's name, told them who Carm was and now Lucio gets attention. Doc is on the case. Lucio begs Carm not to leave him. Jan sees this and isn't happy. She questions Lucio about this nothing going on with Carm. Jan mentions new clothes, watch, she thinks there is. Jan is afraid he'll go to jail or end up dead because of Carm. She promises to lay off Lucio.

Some TV people come looking for Sonia/Dolores. The lady claims she is Roni's Tia and gets Dolores addy from Roni. Mona L is helping Dolores with her wedding gown, Dio sees it and those people come. Dolores can't believe they found her. These people did movies with Sonia. She isn't happy.

Nina and Max talk about DNA testing and Nina says Max will never volunteer his DNA. Jori just want to be supremely happy with Nina.

Part III

Carm comes home and says Lucio is now out of danger. Tifon can't believe Carm is helping Lucio, well he's almost like familia his Mama works for them. Max drinks and watches as Leleco does. Carm goes to the sauna, Max follows, jams the door and turns up the heat. Carm tries to get out, but Max won't let her, she sees him and starts raising hell. He asks if it is hot enough for Madame? He lets her out and warns her this is what happens when you go against old Max. She accuses him of trying to kill Lucio and he's a killer. Max says Carm is stupid cause now Tifon will want DNA and he's not going anywhere till he gets his lana back. Leleco comes as they argue and wants to know what is up. Leleco mentions to Max, after Carm goes, he is always catching them alone. Max says they live in the same house.

Mona L and her gang, plus Carlitos, the wives, and kids are all eating together. Olenka is there too, talking to Darson who tells her all about Leleco and Muricy.

Jan comes to the mansion and asks Hercules if she can go to the garage, she wants to check out Max's car. She does and sees a replacement bumper, I think. She goes in and talks to Carm alone and accuses Max of trying to kill Lucio. Carm says no way. Jan mentions she saw how Lucio and Carm were at the hospital and Carm tells her to not say a word. Jan quits her job and tells Carm to stay away from Lucio. Jan goes to the kitchen, tells ZeZe she quit and to open her eyes and leave there too before it's too late. She goes.

The whole of Divino, including Aduato and Agatha are dancing at the Divino Club. That crew that knows Sonia is there too. Olenka is trying to seduce Aduato, gives him a strong drink, unbuttons his shirt and wants him to come with her. They go in the hallway and make out. Olenka wants him to dump the old lady, Muricy, he can't cheat and he goes. That lady that knows Sonia gets on stage, strips her shirt off and Dio wants it to stop.

When Tifon comes home, Carm tells him Jan quit. He can't believe it. ZeZe gets promoted and Carm says time for new blood in the house. Carm goes and Tifon thinks.

Tifon goes to see Jan. He wants an explanation. He asks after Lucio. Jan is afraid to speak. Tifon coaxes her to talk and she does. She tells Tifon that Jori was right when he accused Max of trying to rob Tifon's safe! Oi, Oi, Oi!!!!

CAMELIA:

We had quite an episode last night, lots of action, lots of reunions, it could almost be the gran final. But it isn't.

Benigno's new acquaintance, Narciso, IS gay, and the two of them have a little tryst in the woods. Benigno returns, and still looking a little mussed, is introduced to Concepcion (whom I'll call Cookies, close to her nickname) by the Gov.

Arnulfo tells Hilda that he's not going along with Cookie's idea to stop the transit strike, he's going to defy her. Hilda says it's pretty exciting when guys have brave but dumb ideas. He gets a little mad, but two seconds later, they're humping again! Until there's a knock at the door, and I think it was Octavio. What's he been up to?

Earlier, at the boarding school, Allison comes up behind Camelia, holds a knife to her neck. She also has a gun (or maybe takes Camelia's). Camelia stays cool, says Emilio betrayed us both, he wasn't going to go with you anymore than with me. This doesn't please Ali, But here comes Antonio, and knocks Ali out with a ferocious hit with his gun. He then grabs Cami, who says, go ahead, kill me. Why would I kill you, you're my daughter! She doesn't believe him. They go back and forth for a while, he's ushering her outside, she keeps saying she hates him.

Meanwhile, Octavio wants to get Alma. The cops tell him to stop, he shoots McQueen in the shoulder. He then enters the classroom, and kills the teacher in cold blood. He locks the door, with all the rest of the kids inside, including Alma. Outside, McQueen and Ortiz want to burst in, but Facundo says we can't risk hurting the girls, let's be patient. They convince Octavio to let most of the girls go.

Meanwhile, Alacran tells Antonio to take Camelia and skeedaddle, he'll recover Almita. Antonio agrees, although Cami thinks it'll never work. Alacran knocks out a Mexican policeman and puts on his uniform. He's right there with all the other cops as Facundo, McQueen and Ortiz discuss strategy. From inside, Octavio says I'm coming out, but if you try anything, Alma or the other little girl will die. The cops lay down their guns, Oct gets the two girls out, jumps in his car, speeds away.

Antonio also speeds away with Camelia, his truck dodging a hail of bullets. Some hit his tires, and he has to stop to change the tire. He reminds Cami of when she was very little, he drew a little triangle on her arm like the Bermuda triangle. She remembers! She still isn't happy with him. He explains that Rosaura took Cami, hid, he couldn't find them until recently. But, she asks, what could you have done to make Rosaura leave? He's silent.

CAMELIA Part 2

Alacran jumps in a cop car, since he's wearing cop clothes, and speeds off after Octavio. He manages to be going TOWARDS Octavio, plays chicken, and Oct caves, veers off the road, crashes. Alacran carefully goes over to the car, sees Oct is unconscious, gets the two girls out, and calls in on the radio. He tells them to come pick up the girls. But he actually takes Alma with him, and tells the other girl just to wait for the cops. Oct recovers and speeds away (later to go to Arnulfo's).

McQueen tries to question Allison, but she won't say anything, even after he nicely takes her home. She finds Emi very defiant, but then he admits he was super scared, and maybe he'll let her back into his life.

The cops now have some concrete evidence on Octavio, that he killed that schoolteacher, so they raid his home, but he's already move out totally, including all evidence.

Antonio arrives back at his ranch, and says Camelia can stay there. She doesn't want to. But he says she'll be much safer there than anywhere else. Then she sees Mireya, and they shriek and hug, joyfully reunited. But what about Alma? Antonio says he trusts Alacran. And sure enough, here he is, and Alma is back, too! The whole family has a celebration dinner, as Antonio says all's right in the world.

But Camelia glares at Lu.

AVENIDA BRASIL, Terça-feira

I have seen every episode of AB. Until today. Evidently my Telemundo affiliate was knocked out by something and all I recorded was a blank screen. Two hours of blank screen. Mads is a lifesaver! Tomorrow I'll watch it On Demand.

Camelia,

thanks so much Hombre!
that was a wild show and you captured it all so nicely.

I couldn't get all of the show at telemundo land, but I did glean out some little things.

when Alison grabbed Camelia from behind with a knife to the neck, taking the gun that Camelia had to kill Antonio with, and as they looked each other in the eyes, Camelia says she regrets killing Emilio, and then retells her side of the story, Antonio sent Emilio to her, to seduce her, and to get her across the border so that Antonio could kill her (which Emilio did, but later Camelia got away with Mireya's help), but Alison reminds her that he went back for you, no, Camelia says, he came back for the marijuana and once he got his money, he left. as Alison is sorting this out, whack! Antonio hits her on the back of the head, knocking her out, later this unknown girl is found unconscious and taken to the hospital, where they also checked to see if she had fired a gun. McQueen recognizes her name, married to Emilio, from the files he's read over, but as she points out he is american and can't detain her.

Octavio sure seemed like a madman, but as Facundo pointed out, he was running the show and if we don't do what he says... and later when Facundo is justifying their actions to Ortiz (who's sour that they lost Antonio, Camelia and Octavio) we can pretty much see what Facundo is all about when he says, "nothing is more important than an innocent life".

and in the getaway, Octavio talks to Alma, he blames Antonio for everything, says things would be different if she had been raised in a normal life, but, in the end, she will have everything, and he offers his hand to her.

no doubt Camelia is the daughter the of Rosaura and Antonio, a chip off the old block, interesting to watch them butt heads, (hmm, I think Camelia had 3 birthmarks on her arm that when connected made a triangle, that they used to kid about)

I am amazed at Alacran, he takes any job and gets it done, Antonio has so much confidence in him, but wait, how many times did he run into Camelia and Emilio when they foiled him, Camelia refers to him as a low life.

Lu is not too big on sharing her man with anyone, look how long it took for her to accept Alma, this should be interesting.

En Otra Piel – Martes – Part 1

I am not going to be able to do my usual Thursday recap so I will do a mini one of last night’s capitulo.
Mondriana arranged for the video of the pervy judge beating up the prostitute to be played at the opening of his campaign for Senator. Chaos ensues, including Diego showing up and punching the judge out. Esteban has to intervene to keep him from being arrested since he is illegal and would probably be deported. On his way out, Diego sees Carlos talking on the phone to the judge. He finds Selma, Mondriana and the girls and gets them out of there.

The pervy judge concludes that Elena must have been responsible for the video. He instructs Carlos to settle accounts.

Jorge shows up at the Serrano mansion. Elena is gobsmacked and flashes back to her attack on Julián after he rejected her. Then Lorena shows up. Does Elena suspect that Julián is her father? She seems a little nervous when Jorge is calculating exactly how it has been since he saw Lorena, which I am sure corresponds to how old Elena is minus 9 months or so. Elena almost gets Lorena to take a drink of wine but then Emiliana comes down. She instantly has a great rapport with Jorge.

Apparently, not even Mónica knew that Jorge owns the land where the Larrea vineyard grapes grow. Jorge announces that he plans to hang around for a while to get to know his family. Elena is less than pleased.

En Otra Piel – Martes – Part 2

In the kitchen, Marta puts everyone straight about Jorge not being Julián’s ghost. Vicky says that Jorge was the nicer brother. Then Jorge finds out that Vicky still works at the house. This causes more agita for Elena who flashes back once again to Vicky seeing her in bloodstained clothes in the front hall of the house just before the dead or dying Julián is brought to the house. Jorge and Vicky have a friendly reunion.

Gerardo is obsessed with finding out how Mondriana learned that he was a gigolo. He has Ernesto quiz Camila about whether she knows who Gerardo’s amante is. She says that she doesn’t know. Ernesto reports this to Gerardo and warns him once again to take the money and run. With the money, he could get all the schoolteachers he wants. Gerardo replies that Ernesto doesn’t understand – Mondriana is the one and only for him.

Back in East LA, Gabriel has gone searching for Jennifer. He is seen by some Doggy gang members. He goes to Jennifer’s house but she doesn’t come to the door. He leaves her a note. Meanwhile, Rodrigo finds out from Martín that it was the Doggy gang members who shot him and that Martín negotiated a truce whereby retaliation for Rodrigo being shot was nixed if Gabriel stayed away from Jennifer. Rodrigo tells Martín that Gabriel is out looking for Jennifer.

The Doggy gang has found Gabriel and are beating him up when Martín and Rodrigo find them. Jennifer comes out of the house and tells Gabriel that she doesn’t want to see him again. Back at their apartment, Gabriel’s injuries are patched up but he cannot accept that the he has to forget about Jennifer. He notes that Rodrigo has never forgotten about Marta.

Maite and Valeria are not told about the appearance of Carlos at the pervy judge’s campaign headquarters. Valeria is persuaded by Eileen that Diego attacked the judge out of anger at what happened to her but Diego tells Mondriana that he did it for her.

Gerardo is ignorant of what happened with the pervy judge and Jorge’s visit to the house. Elena calls him and demands that they meet at the cabaña. Gerardo is on his way there when he runs into Mondriana. She accuses him of being a gigolo again.

Meanwhile, Carlos has gotten onto the estate. Somehow, he figures out that Elena is at the cabaña. He rings the bell and Elena answers the door thinking it is Gerardo. Carlos walks in with a gun.

Avenida Brasil

Thanks for the great recap, Mads. Things are happening now!!

Just a couple of clarifications. Janaina knew that Max was the one who hit Lucio when she smelled new paint on Max's car.

Carlitos told Alexia what she already knows - that he has $5 million stashed away in a Swiss bank. It is enough for him to live comfortably with one woman - not all three. So it is a competition to see who loves him the most. As we see, Alexia is ready to compete to be the one.

The porno lady with the camera team is Sonia/Dolores' sister. Apparently porno movies are a family business.

Can't wait for today episode!

AVENIDA:

Thanks, Mads! Now we're getting somewhere! Can't wait to see today's episode when Tifon hears all that Jan has to say. He won't be able to deny that there's a whole lot of truth in what Jorgito and Nina are saying. And if the part about Lucio is true, then the rest of it can't be too far off the mark either.

Now that Carlos knows that his wives know he has the $5mil, he's having some fun with them. He's convincing each one that he's only telling her about the money, and that he intends to go away with and only share the money with her. At least that's what I picked on when had Alexis show him just how much she loved him in the outdoor shower. I'm sure we'll see him run the same game on the other two. Very clever of him, because each one will be falling all over herself to treat him nicely and to show him just how much she loves him and deserves to be his one and only wife (and split the money with him). Of course, it will backfire on him.

AVENIDA:

Jean- Jinx! We were writing at the same time about the same things.

One of the funny things Sonia's sister pointed out was that Roni would be perfect for the family business. He turned a few shades red at the suggestion. It's pretty funny that he comes from a family with such a free sexual background and appetites, and yet he is so conservative/repressed sexually.

Avenida Brasil-
Vivi - not jinx - two great minds with but a single thought! ;-)

I had forgotten about that exchange with Roni. Is he repressed or gay? It just doesn't seem to be clear. It seemed like he got a little come on from the camera man.

AVENIDA:

Jean- They still haven't made clear what Roni's deal is. When he loosened up with Suelen, he seemed to enjoy their bedroom antics. But he seemed to really enjoy also having Leandro in the mix. It's just odd. I wonder if the writers will ever explain what's going on there.

CAMELIA:

Deb, thanks for the clarification on Camelia's birthmarks. Since I watch w/o captions, I often miss things.

Antonio is so happy to have his daughters back, he's organizing a big party! Lu isn't happy, he never gave HER a big party. Camelia isn't thrilled, either. She's in her room, Alacran on guard outside the door. She climbs out the window. Antonio finds out, and the search begins. He finds her sitting under a tree, says it was always her favorite place, she's still not impressed. He says all this land will be yours, my business will be yours. This was the WRONG thing to say, she can't be bought, all she needs are her body and her mind.

Mireya and Alacran continue to tease each other, and you know they like each other. Alone with Cami, Mireya asks her why she shot Emilio. Cami gets offended, then realizes Mireya just wants to know. But Cami herself doesn't even know.

Antonio is also glad Alma is back, and wants her to be happy. Alma and Mireya have a spat about who gets that bedroom, and Antonio says they have to share it, Alma was there first, so she gets the first choice, Mireya is just a guest.

Although Allison wouldn't tell McQueen anything, he acts really nice to her, won't pressure her, and assures her that not all cops are bad, even after she tells him her business is transporting people to the US to give them a new chance. His kindness eventually gets to her, and she decides to help him. She admits she went to the boarding house to find Camelia, but won't tell why (McQueen can probably figure this one out). She then says she doesn't know where Octavio is, but she knows where Arnulfo is.

And where is Arnulfo? In Allison's old house in Tijuana with Hilda. In fact, Octavio is there too! Octavio leaves with Arnulfo to go meet with Cookies, and he treats Hilda like dirt, not being swayed by her toughness. Oct says she belongs in the kitchen.

McQueen tells Facundo and Ortiz where Arnulfo is, and they may be on their way to Tijuana. Here comes another showdown!

And what's up with Cookies? For one thing, here prescription drug business seems to have made HER an addict, as she keeps popping little pills. Meanwhile, the Gov tells Benigno that he could be the next governor, but he needs a wife. Ben isn't too keen on this, but Gov says I know all about you and Narciso. You can do that in private, but in public, you need a wife. And I've picked one out for you. Cookies! Cookies has dinner with Ben, and although she's a little nuts, I think she's ready to get a fake husband, too (they don't discuss this openly though).

Ben invites Cookies to Antonio's party, for the return of Camelia. When Octavio and Arnulfo meet with Cookies, she says she's going to a party for Antonio's daughter. Arnie and Oct didn't know he had a daughter. Sure, says Cookies, Camelia la Tejana!

At the party, most of the crowd is happy (not Lu of course), but Camelia throws her drink to the ground, she's NOT a Treviño, she's not party of this family!

CAMELIA:

And Antonio says, start the music!

I meant to say she's not PART of this family, but maybe party works, too.

Camelia,

what a great recap Hombre!
these guys are all cracking me up.

some things I remember are, Facundo tells McQueen (Stanley to Alison), that he will take Ortiz's deal, (does this mean he is working for him) and since he and Arulfo got split up when the army invaded, I wonder if he'll go back into that undercover role.

CuQuis referred to Benigno as a hillbilly earlier, but perked up when she learned he was president of the municipality, I guess politics is all about favors and using people, and since Benigno isn't catching on to quick, he is one of the used, as he holds her dog while she takes a pill.

Hilda was really enjoying the praise earlier from CuQuis, while Arnulfo took a back seat, but now with Octavio, the shoe is on the other foot, but hey, everyone's seemed to have heard how the police took over his place, so is Octavio even a big capo anymore?

hmm, and Alma even asked about him. (Octavio), did he get away?

Antonio is treating Camelia just like Facundo, always grabbing her, pulling her close, protecting her, while she is always pushing him away, but I guess it is the 70's, and a woman's place is...

EN OTRA PIEL – COMMENT ON MARTES

Jean, thanks so much for the recap. It was sort of odd that Elena and Gerardo heard nothing about the big reveal at Judge Pervo’s campaign kickoff. So Elena doesn’t really know what’s in store for her. But it’s too much to hope for that Carlos would shoot her and spare Camila and Emiliana lots more grief. I was very nervous because they showed Carlos lurking outside the fence at Casa Serrano and then showed Mondriana being dropped off by Esteban. I was afraid he’d seen her.

I was surprised they went with Elena being right away suspicious of the timing of Jorge’s leaving LA. Although we aren’t sure she was thinking of his being her father. You’re probably right that he is, Jean. But he certainly makes Elena uncomfortable.

When Jennifer came out to scream at Gabriel that she wanted him to leave her alone, she had on huge sunglasses and a baseball cap. Gabriel didn’t seem to notice she’d been beaten. This whole power of the gangs thing doesn’t really work for me. I know this threatening behavior exists, but the LAPD have whole squads responsible for policing these guys. Jennifer could, presumably, show up at the police station looking the way she looks and Rottweiler would go straight to jail.

EN OTRA PIEL – GENERAL

I would refer any readers of our recaps to the first link on the Caray blog: Care and Feeding of Recappers. I am enjoying En Otra Piel and will continue to watch. But putting up recaps that receive at most two comments is a thankless task. So Jean and I are close to stopping writing them. Kelly has been doing excellent recaps on Wednesday but also receives few comments. If you’re lurking, consider throwing us a bone now and then!

AVENIDA BRASIL QRT-feria

Part I

Oi, Oi, Oi!!!!! Jan tells Tifon all about Max and Lucio and the robbery and how she was hit on the head. Tifon wants to know if Carm had a hand in it, but Jan has no proof of that and won't speculate. He asks if she is really gone for good, and she says yes. She loves Tifon and the familia but she just can't. Jan tells Tifon if he goes to the cops and tells all, she has a clear conscience. He goes without answering and Jan calls to him but he doesn't come back.

Tifon is driving and thinks about Jori accusing Max of the robbery and the reactions of both Carm and Max.

Carm is yelling at Zeze and wants to know where Tifon is. He isn't there and Max comes. Wants to know why Carm is so nervous? She turns it around on Max and tells him if Jan talked, Max should be the nervous one. Ivana comes in and they say they were talking about Lucio and Jan being gone now. Max tells Ivana it is hard to live in a house where people hate you.

Muricy is on the phone ordering some stuff, when Aduato comes home and confesses his kiss with Olenka. Muricy forgives Aduato, but is pithed at Olenka.

Tifon comes home and he cold cocks Max. He calls Max a ladron and Carm is "acting" shocked. Tifon tells the familia that Max with Lucio's help, robbed the safe. Ivana defends Max. Tifon is throwing Max out and he never wants him to come back. They lockstep Max to the gate, while a crowd is gathered and laughs at Max. He goes in a taxi. Olenka was outside and saw it too.

Ivana goes off on Tifon. Carm is "comforting" Ivana and Leleco comes and says he saw the commotion with Max, what is going on? They tell him and Leleco agrees with what Tifon did. Muricy blames Nina for all of this of course. Ivana tells Carm you have known Max a long time, could he do this? Carm thinks he could and it's best he is far away from there. Carm apologizes for bring Max into the familia. She does the theatrical stuff while Tifon watches her.

Leleco calls Jori and tells him what happened. Nina and Jori are very happy that Max is gone. Now if only they had some proof against Carm. Well, Nina suggests that Tifon investigate the charity that Carm runs. Nina is sure that Carm has funneled the funds to herself.

Tifon and Leleco are chatting about Carm and Max again. Leleco wonders if it is true about them being lovers. Tifon still isn't buying it. Leleco, bless his heart, tells Tifon to investigate the charity that Carm runs. Hmmmmm..... Tifon wants answers.

Mama L comes to the mansion looking for Max and Carm tells her that Max got thrown out, he's on his yacht. Mama L tells Carm it would be best if she left the mansion too and Carm tells her only when she is dead!

Mama L goes to see Max on his yacht. Max isn't happy to see her, she abandoned him just as his new familia has done, and she stuck him with Nilo. She tries to explain, but he's not hearing her. She tells him to go far, far away, cause when the familia finds out that Max is truly the Papa of Jori and Agatha, it won't be pretty. She wants forgiveness, but he throws her off the yacht.

Jan goes to the hospital and catches Carm kissing Lucio on the head and throws Carm out. Carm threatens her and says Lucio is all alone in that bed and defenseless, something could happen. She throws Jan out.

Tifon is looking for Carm don't know where she is. Muricy is still pithed about the way Max was thrown out and Ivana is in a state. Tifon says that Max is a criminal and Leleco and he go off as Muricy says she's mad at Leleco.

AVENIDA BRASIL QTR-feira

Part II

Tifon and Leleco go to the charity that money was donated to and look for Carm's car. She is supposed to be there. She's at the hospital of course. Tifon and Leleco go in and talk to Sister Clarice and ask if Carm's been there. She'll have to check with Padre Solano. She goes in his office and he's pithed. She explains why and Padre tells the Sister to have them wait. He calls Carm and tells her Tifon is there. He asks Carm about the books , she says it's his job not hers. Meanwhile, Tifon is visiting with the kids and sees the poor condition of the place. Padre finally comes out and now Tifon and Leleco want to know where all the money went to rehab the place. Didn't he pay for the supplies/contractors? Padre claims some of the money went directly to the families. Padre is sweating bullets and after they go, yells at Sister C. He calls Carm again and tells her they left. Tifon and Leleco think Padre lied. Sister C runs after them and spills the frijoles. She says the money never got to the charity. The place is falling apart, even the front façade and that they have been getting by on other donations. It is very hard to make ends meet and that Carm hasn't been there a lot. Tifon thanks her for telling the truth.

It's Dolores and Dio's wedding day in Divino, everyone is there including Suelen and Leandro. Dolores is baptized before the I do's are spoken. Her family is there, they start the music, and Dolores becomes Sonia. Roni whisks her out. Later, on the honeymoon at home, Dio is wanting some love and Dolores doesn't respond, until the music plays and then her family comes in and films. Dio is outraged and chases them into the street, they are leaving and Sonia comes down in her undies dances and the upshot is, she goes with them. She tells Roni she is Sonia cut and dried and one of the guys tells Roni that someday Roni will join them. Dio is devastated.

Zeze is polishing the silver when Carm comes and screams at her. Carm finds out Tifon is in the library and goes in there. She tells him the Padre called her and told her about Tifon's visit. Carm is talking up the kids and now Tifon wants to know why Carm and the Padre are lying. Where is the lana? She asks if he thinks she took the money. He says only Carm and the Padre would know. She claims the Padre took it. She's been thinking of doing an audit of the charity herself. Now Carm claims that maybe the Padre is an imposter, Nina is responsible for this whole mess the familia is in. Tifon says he isn't talking about Nina. Tifon asks after Neide and Carm panics. She tells Tifon that woman is a ho. Carm makes everyone look bad.

Ivana goes to the yacht to visit Max. He thought she would believe the lies. Max blames Nina she is responsible, she seduced Max. Ivana wants to move on the boat with him. He only has enough money to support himself. She can help she says. They get busy and afterwards she says she's been thinking about getting a apt. in a burb of Zona Sur, Flemenco she says. Max says he is selling the yacht. And he tells her next time she comes to call first. He isn't happy about the apt.

Leleco comes to visit Jori and Nina makes herself scarce. Leleco still isn't trusting Nina cause of her story, the drugs and the lana. Jori feels bad for Tifon, cause Carm only married him for the lana. Jori vouches for Nina again, but Leleco doesn't want to hear it and goes. Nina overheard the convo and tells Jori, Tifon should really talk to Neide, she knows Carm really well, part of Carm's past.

Ivana comes home and the familia finds out she was with Max. Everyone blames Nina of course, and Tifon calls Max a gigolo. Ivana tells Tifon that Max is a victim and Muricy agrees. They all believe that Nina was responsible for the kidnap.

Jogri and Tifon have a chat. Tifon is so confused to be hearing such bad things about Carm. Jori suggests he go talk to Neide.

AVENIDA BRASIL QTR-feira

Part III

Neide is at her place with Marcelo, one of her escorts and lova. Carm comes to see her. She tells Neide that if anyone comes asking questions, like say Tifon, talk her up, don't tell them what she did. If she does this Carm will make sure that Neide sees her son Reginaldo again. Reginaldo spent 15 years in prison for a crime that Carm committed, stolen lana. Carm knows where he is and will bring him to Neide, but only if she keeps her silence. On the way out Neide slaps Carm.

Tifon has been thinking about what Jori and Nina told him. Especially about Genesio. Jori tells him to go see Neide, she knows.

Neide explains what happened to Marcelo about Reg. He was accused of stealing lana that Carm stole. Neide hasn't seen him since he went to prison, he blames his Mama Neide and Marcelo doesn't think that Neide ought to trust Carm. But Neide wants to see her son. Tifon and Jori come to see Neide, she lies and says she never told Jori, Max was his Papa. Jori wants to know how much money she wants, but she calls Jori loco and they go. Afterwards, Neide calls Carm and tells her she did exactly as Carm said.

Carlitos and the whole familia. Iran brought them eggs, Alexia says they will have to make them last for 3 days. Noemia has an idea, talks a vendor into giving her a bit of space on his cart and he helps her sell the crepes she made. The crepes are free with a purchase of whatever he is selling.

Jori comes home and tells Nina what happened at Neide's. Tifon isn't believing anything. What about Max's DNA Jori says. Nina thinks Max is dangerous and won't give it. She has an idea, calls Neide's says she needs an escort meet her on Avendia Brasil.

Tifon and Ivana are talking about Max again. Carm comes and says she is going to take care of this charity thing and goes.

Santi comes to see Mama L at Tiradero and she tells him about Max being kicked out and that Max is pithed at Carm. Nilo comes and harangues them and something bad about Santi he saw. Santi pulls a knife on Nilo and tells him he'll cut his tongue out, and Nilo screams they are criminals and goes.

Nina is at the meeting place, sort of dressed like a dominatrix and pumps Marcelo for info. He tells her about Reginaldo and that a woman came to see Neide. She has him take his clothes off and she tells him to wait. She goes in the other room and calls Jori. She says that Carm is with Neide. Jori tells her no funny bidnez with Marcelo. Jori calls Tifon and tells him where Carm is.

Carm has brought Reginaldo to see his Mama Neide. She is very happy. He's pithed he spent 15 years in prison for a robbery Carm planned. Tifon comes and catches Carm at Neide's. She claims she is there to reunite a son with his Mama. She is trying to talk her way out of it. Reginald tells Tifon that Neide is a ho same as Carm was! Oi, Oi, Oi! Novelera, I'm glad you posted your message about the lack of comments. That certainly applies to me. Fortunately or unfortunately, I've been traveling a lot and not keeping up with the telenovela, and even CarayCaray has at times been hard for me to access when I'm away. As a result, I have a far-from-good understanding of what has happened. But I DO read the recaps when I can, and I'm VERY grateful to you, to Jean, and to others who have written them. I might have logged on when I could just to say Thank You, but somehow that seemed so lame. But now I regret that I didn't do that, lame or not. Please know that your efforts are MUCH appreciated!

Camelia,

I'm really enjoying watching this a second time, it really adds a lot of depth both to the characters and to the story.

in wondering where Octavio could be, Ortiz says, it's not like he can change what he looks like, (as was later tried by 'El Señor de los Cielos')

looks like this whole Benigno/Cuquis thing is being orchestrated by the Gonernor, who first calls Cuquis, letting her know that Beni has been asking about her, then later explains to Beni how important it is to have a wife (in public) and Cuquis is the one for you.

Alison is getting out of there and let's emilio decide where to,
let's stay here, he says,
no,
then let's go back to Tijuana,
you know we can't, she says
then why did you ask?

Hilda calls Octavio a wanna be gigolo from Veracruz,
Arnulfo says he's from Puerto Rico,
and he's one of the biggest capo's in the country,
yea and I'm Raquel Welch, Hilda says, so what's he doing in a dump like this,
you don't want a boss do you,
but we can't just kill him, Arnulfo throws out, where will we get our product,
Hilda suggests Cuquis,
are you sure it's not that time of the month, Arnulfo says,
can't you just take a sedative or something.

call me Stan, interrogates Alison, who sends emilio out to get some chocolate,
you're not here for the 'drowned sandwiches' then?
("a torta ahogada, drowned sandwich, is a typical dish from the Mexican state of Jalisco, particularly in the city of Guadalajara. It is called "drowned" because the sandwich is submerged totally or partially in a sauce made primarily of a dried chili pepper".--wiki)
after she gives up Arnulfo, she demands to go with him to Tijuana.

Mireya gets some alone time with Camelia, when she gets the money that Antonio owes her she plans to get her ranch back and wants Camelia for a partner. Camelia thinks the army is still there, says she is wanted by the police, and that it is better if they aren't together.

Mireya also mentions that Alma is trouble, you can see that a mile away.

Camelia and Antonio continue to butt heads, Cami tells him, just because you impregnate women doesn't make you a father.

and as Antonio escorts Camelia down to the party, she gets faint (what could this possibly mean)

and as Camelia blasts out of the party, Lu and Alma, who are now best friends, don't seem at all upset.

In answer to your comment about caring and feeding the recappers, I certainly am guilty of not acknowledging the time and work it takes to write a recap. The recaps are excellent and cover all angles of the tale, that I don't feel I could any thing else. So I, just read.

All the recappers are very good writers and I am always impressed by how fast you all post after the episode ends. I don't have that talent and it takes me awhile to think out what I am going to write, that in the end, I just read without acknowledging you alls labor.

I have written comments before, but sometimes have trouble with the blog caption and loose my comment. By than, I'm frustrated and don't post.

Don't feel that just because someone doesn't comment they don't appreciate your hard work. WE DO and that is evident with the number of hits the blog gets. If lurkers did not enjoy your recaps they would not be lurking and waiting for your recaps.

As for me, I appreciate ya'lls recaps. Thank you.

CAMELIA
If Antoniio gives his inheritance to Camelia.... where does that leave Lu and Alma... surely they sense it and that is why they bonded. I was hoping Camelia and Alma would bond, but Alma just used Camelia at Ocativo's and now sees her as a threat. Antonio did say what he feels for Alma is not the type of love he feels for Camelia. What about Lu, what is her inheritance if everything is for Camelia.

Also, Octavio told Alma, he is leaving everything to her ... and she is keeping that secret to herself. She did not mention that to Antonio or Lu.

EN OTRA PIEL

OK, so I smoked out two comments! For any other lurkers, please be aware that you don't have to write a fascinating comment! One could simply say, yep, I agree that so and so is a complete idiot. Or, nah, I think you're wrong about so and so being the murderer.

I've always found that reading someone else's recap triggers a reminder of something I saw in the episode the recapper didn't mention or a way to chime in on the same scene they described. Without recaps, it's hard to have a cyber conversation about telenovelas. Someone has to get the ball rolling.

Those who recap and comment on Univision have NO problem with getting dozens and dozens of comments practically as soon as the recap is up.

We Telemundo watchers have a smaller audience pool. So, please, chime in when you can!

AVENIDA BRASIL, Quarta-feira

Aha! Santiago isn't as sweet as we thought he was. Another secret to reveal.

Poor Roni. His mother has left him again. I also can't figure out if he is gay or sexually repressed.

Neide's son was 15 when the evil genius pitted mother against son. I'm not sure how long he was in jail.

I am so waiting for Carminageddon.

GENERAL

I read Novelera's comments re: commments. ITA. I recapped a previous novela on Telemundo and sometimes I felt as though I was the only English-speaking person in the entire country watching it. I have too much on my plate now to recap novelas but that is also part of the reason I won't do it again. It was a lot of work and took a great deal of time. And when only 2 or 3 people commented, then I felt as though I was wasting my time. It's true what she says about Univisión v. Telemundo. TM isn't available in as many markets so there are fewer viewers. And in the case of Avenida Brasil, it's on in the middle of the day instead of in prime time, so I think even fewer people are watching it. So lurkers, not only for AB but for all the Telemundo novelas, come join the fun!

PIEL

Maybe Elena's questioning face as she was listening to Jorge was because she realized she may have seduced her uncle. (Side note: When Lorena was drunk-raging at Julian for the rape, I thought at first that she was talking about Julian raping HER -Lorena- rather than Elena, because I temporarily forgot about Elena. But then Elena would have seduced her own father, so the uncle thing is looking not so bad).

AVENIDA:

Oooh! Another good episode. Just how many convoluted excuses does Carmina think she can give and Tifon will swallow?

Sue- Yes. Santiago is hiding something that even Lucinda doesn't know about, but Nilo does. Hmmmm.... Perhaps after all of Carmina's recent secrets come out, we'll start hearing about her deep dark old secrets, and Lucinda, Nilo, and Santi's secrets too.

We got another taste of Carmina's past secrets learning how she pinned a crime on Neide's teen son and turned mother and son against each other. Just how many lives has she destroyed over the years?

The siren song of music, sex and sin was just too much for Dolores, and Sonia had to make a reappearance. The funny thing is that Dio loves wild Sonia, but wild Sonia is too free of a spirit to be tied down. Dolores is boring and repressed, but she's the one who would stay with him. He can't have it both ways with her. But he knew what he was getting into. Poor Roni was blind-sighted. The porn crew seemed to be certain that one day he would follow in the family biz, so...who knows.

Novelera: I am a daily lurker (I hate that term) on this board. I read—and appreciate--recaps because they help clarify details I may have missed due to my slow-but-steady acquisition of Spanish. However, I have never commented anywhere on this board, for two reasons: 1) I occasionally post on another board (from which I’ve been MIA for the past month), and for me, one presence on one board is enough; 2) I’ve noticed that the snark factor is high on this board, and snark isn’t my style. See you “over there.”

Funniest moment-- Carlitos taking off his flip flop to attempt to kill the chicken, as if it's a mosquito. LOL!

Jean Where did u get the idea that Jorge was Elenas father? So Mondriana knows that Gerardo is a gigolo but does she think he offed her. Also I think she may actually be falling in love with Diego.

Sorry no one is commenting. Ive been a bit busy but promise to reply on your posts. Please dont stop. Your recaps gaive me things I didnt really pay attention to.

EN OTRA PIEL, Wed. Part 1

Carlos meets Elena at the door with a gun. She denies the whole pervy-judge-video tape thing (can we still call it a video tape?), and Carlos doesn’t believe her. He waits for Ger to show up to have a little talk. In the meantime, they chat about how the judge wanted Carlos to kill her and Ger. She doesn’t buy it at first.

Then we get a rehash of Mondriana yelling at Gerardo about his womanizing ways. And the previews were wrong: she does not tell him who she really is. She’s mad; he says he didn’t do anything wrong. He loves her, he loved Monica but she’s dead now and in the past, it’s the present that’s important. She thinks he’s full of crap. (It’s late and I’m summarizing). She gets a good slap in and he’ll never get close to her again.

Rod tries to give Gabriel advice about staying away from Jennifer for his own good. Gabe doesn’t believe that Jennifer doesn’t want to see him and he’s not giving in.

Ernesto watches the news about the judge tape. He can’t believe it and calls Ger, who is still reeling from the exchange with Mondi. “No puede ser!” is naturally what he says when Ernesto tells him about the tape.

Eileen is visiting the barrio with Maite and Diego. Ricardo comes by and sparks fly in the form of a musical theme in the background. I approve this match, because Ric and Cami are just too obnoxious and whiny together. When he introduces himself, she says something about Ricardo the Lionhearted being her fav, and he loves it, asks about her acting. Diego and Maite snicker a little.

Carlos is holding a gun on Elena and she’s not worried. She talks about them being the same kind of person, and he tries to slime on her. Pretty sure she’d eat him alive. She made him some offer and he’s not accepting anything until her galan gets there. She turns all feminist on him and says SHE’S the power detras del trono (behind the throne). Carlos has met his match.

Diego and Ric talk about Gabe’s situation, when Eileen comes down ready to go with Vale’s stuff. Diego gets up to help but she tells him to continue his chat with Ric, but when Ric helps she’s cool with it. She is not subtle.

Mondri is moping over the pics on her computer of Ger and other women. I hope she remembers to close this program before Emi finds it.

Ger finally gets to the cabana and sees Carlos’ car, while Carlos is telling Elena about the video. Ger comes in armed pointing his gun at Carlos, who grabs Elena and points his gun at Ger. Elena isn’t armed, and I’m still sure she’d win this fight. After a commercial break, she does. They threaten each other and she steps between them and takes both of their guns so they can negotiate like civilized people. Civilized people who kill and steal, but in a gentlemanly and ladylike way.

And now Emi comes over to Mondri’s (I didn’t see if the computer was still up) and talks about her uncle and how happy she is that she and Cami aren’t alone anymore. She notes that Mondri looks sad, and Mondri asks for a hug. Emi complies. And they still don’t do any studying.

Eileen is buttering up Ricardo, which he loves. The keys drop on the ground, and they bonk heads when they both bend down to get them. They are both idiots. Eileen kiss the superhero (because he fights for justice) and she leaves. (How does she know he won’t become a corporate lawyer defending his company’s right to poison children or something? He’s not actually a lawyer yet).

Camila is looking at Jorge’s card and flashbacking to happy father memories, while a big, heavy bookshelf hangs on the wall over her head, just waiting for the Big One to hit. She starts to call someone (Ric?), but stops.

Elena and Ger argue talk about the video and all the money that Carlos wants. Ger starts to blame Ernesto or a hacker or something when Elena remembers the stool being out of her closet. She’s going to find out who it was. Ger says it can’t be Vicki or Susanna since they don’t know anything about computers. So it has to be Camila, Marta. Or Mondri, points out Elena.

EN OTRA PIEL, Wed. part 2

Selma goes into Eileens room looking for her and she bounces out of the closet with a bunch of bags from Macy’s. You guys! You should all shop at Macy’s and get all the stuff that Eileen shows Selma! (Product placement). Then Eileen says she met the love of her life. Selma is like, yeah right. Eileen starts talking about how cute their kids will be, etc., and then Selma suspects this is THE Ricardo she’s talking about. She asks if this guy is going to be a lawyer. Eileen gets suspicious and asks if he’s her brother or a former lover of Selma. Selma smirks and says he was with Camila. But Eileen, ever the optimist, says “ El que se va para Sevilla, pierde su silla”. Camila left Sevilla and now Eileen is taking her seat. On Ric.

Emi is blabbing about her uncle, but mondri is spacing out about “a personal matter”. Emi, the supposed 11-year old, is here to help Mondri whatever she needs. And then they actually study!

Cami is now having sad father memories of his death. But at least she’s not under the bookcase anymore. She’s in the office when Jorge is announced, comes in, and she’s a little weirded out. He understands that she’s in shock at seeing him. She explains that her father didn’t talk much about him, and he says he was there when Julian died but didn’t think the time was right to meet his nieces. He’d now like to get to know them since they are his only family. Cami can’t be mad at him but she can’t think of him as anything but a stranger. Jorge would just like a chance to make amends.

Elena has done some research on Jorge via internet, but she couldn’t find much. Elena thinks he’s up to something. She then finds out that Cami isn’t in the office yet because she’ with her uncle. Unhappy face de Elena.

Judge Rapist is still at the event, moping and looking at some of the destruction, when his employee comes in to give him a citation (court order? I can’t think of the right word) and then she quits. He tries to convince Yuli to stick by him, and when all this is over, he’ll give her a raise. But she doesn’t work for rapists and tells him to go to la fregada. Judge calls someone and arranges to meet up. With Carlos. Judge complains about Fonsi and blames him for all his troubles. Carlos hands him a letter of resignation, “un renuncion de la vida”. The judge really should have seen this coming. Carlos offers him the gun to commit suicide, but the judge says nope. He and Carlos are socios. Except they probably aren’t anymore, because Carlos is pointing the gun at him.

Jorge goes to the kitchen to chat with Vicki. He wants to know about his nieces, and how things were with Monica after he left. Vicki hedges. She’s not good about keeping secrets; Elena should be concerned.

Mondri goes to the house to get more lemonade for Emi and Elena gets back to the house. Jorge is still asking Vicki about Monica and whether she was happy. Vicki doesn’t like to talk about people who can’t defend themselves (like dead people), but Julian pushes. Vicki admits that while Monica was madly in love with Julian, Julian had affairs! Mondri is around the corner listening, and Elena is behind her watching Mondri listen. Not sure if Elena can hear too, but either way it won't be good.

Kelly, thanks very much for the great recap. I loved many of your remarks, such as "Civilized people who kill and steal, but in a gentlemanly and ladylike way." And to say that Eileen wasn't subtle with Ricardo is a HUGE understatement.

I watched the episode last night, but I see from your recap that I missed a lot. I may even have nodded off for a few minutes. I don't even remember hearing “El que se va para Sevilla, pierde su silla”, let alone understanding what it meant. :-)

Last night, Emi began to get on my nerves. She seems oblivious to everything and everyone around her and just babbles on. You said she's supposed to be 11. That might explain part of her behavior; she looked a good deal older than that to me, and I didn't think there was quite such a large gap in age between Camila and Emi. On the other hand, my twin granddaughters are 8½, and they seem a lot more mature than Emi.

Speaking of Emi, was she using Mondri's computer? Even assuming that the video was not open, I'm uneasy about her using it (though wouldn't someone as privileged as Emi have a laptop of her own?). Anyone want to guess the odds that she'll come upon the video?

And what are the odds that Carlos will actually kill pervy judge in tonight's episode. I think the odds are pretty low. I hope I'm wrong.

The scene with the pervy judge the morning after was quite satisfying. I was a bit surprised that first he bad-mouths his staff in front of Yuli, and two seconds later he's trying to sweettalk her into staying. Duh.

Thanks again, Kelly. Great job.

En Otra Piel

I just looked at what I wrote in my comment and realized that I focused only on the video of pervy judge, but of course that's not the only thing on Mondri's computer that Emi could find. There are also all the incriminating photos of Gerardo with the mujeres maduras. Given Emi's enthusiasm for Gerardo, they too would probably upset her a lot.

En Otra Piel

I have to confess that Emi was so annoying to me last night that I wouldn't at all mind her coming upon the photos of Gerardo with the other women. Then again, she probably would blab what she saw to everyone around her. I don't think I'd want to see that happen. So perhaps I should root for Emi's using her own computer.

(Wow, I seem to be suffering from verbal diarrhea this morning (to make up for months of verbal constipation, perhaps).)

CAMELIA:

Things keep changing. It now appears that Cookies does NOT know that Ben is gay (how can she miss that pink kerchief he wears :), but is excited about getting married, the honeymoon, etc. She's a total addict, popping pills right and left, a drink always in her hand. This probably won't end well. She also orders around Arnie and Oct, gives them a suitcase of cash, but wants them to protect her and her routes, on her terms. They're not too happy about it.

Narciso tells Ben (who's in line to be governor), he's fine with Ben marrying Cookies. Narciso would love to be the governor's lover!

Hilda isn't too happy, either, after being put down by Octavio, she's drinking. Allison is now totally cooperating with the cops, since Stanley McQueen seems like the man she always wanted. He teaches Emi to drive, generally acts very nice, his father was also killed, that's why he's a cop. Ali knows where Arnulfo is hiding, and goes there, but at this point only Hilda is there. Ali insults Hilda the way Hilda had been insulting her. She also gets some info that a Puerto Rican was with Arnulfo.

She even gets some info on Arnie's latest shipment, and the cops arrest the guys and take the drugs. Arnie won't be happy.

Out at the ranch, Alma breaks Mireya's guitar. Mireya starts hurting Alma, but Alacran stops her. He later gets her a NEW guitar. Alma thinks someone's gonna die (not unlikely, given this show), Camelia says she was wrong about Oct killing her parents, she could be wrong again (but WAS she?).

Camelia escapes again, threatens Alacran with a sickle, then goes to Benigno and turns herself in for her crimes. In jail, Ben tells Camilia about how all the trouble started when Antonio took in Lu and her brother. He raised them, and when Lu was older, she seduced Antonio (who then jilted Rosaura). Ben says Lu is to blame for everything, not Antonio.

Antonio then visits Cami in jail, I think he says he'll move heaven and earth to get that U.S. wanted order against her lifted, if she'll stay at his house in the meantime, and this time, she agrees, goes back to the ranch.

Facundo seems mad at Camelia, he tells Ortiz he wants to get on her case, to arrest her. Ortiz waivers, but after they arrest the guys with the drug shipment, and they're close to getting Arnulfo and Octavio, Ortiz seems to be leaning towards saying okay. Facundo is back on the force for sure.

Lu keeps making mysterious phone calls. At the end of the episode, we find out who she was calling. Camelia's mother, Rosaura! Lu tells her, yes, your daughter is right her at our ranch!

Right HERE at our ranch!

I read the recaps every day and am grateful to all who take their valuable time to do it. It is self-less of you. I only watch Avenida but I've been following Carmelia and Otra by reading the recaps. I can only watch so many novelas :) I am watching: Lado, El capo 3, Avenida, uff uff.
Avenida: Carmina, the chicken are coming home to roost. Hopefully Tifon takes the blinders off soon.

Camelia,

terrific recap Hombre!!

yes I think Facundo has about had it with Camelia, his plan to run away with her ended with a gun in his face, and Tuesday's chat with McQueen before he signed on, he explains, we had plans, but I was stupid, and they both seem to agree that a cop's only true love is Lady Justice.

hmm, Alison seems to be dressing a little better, with a bit of confidence in her step, around call me Stanley.

Alma sitting on the bed smashing Mireya's guitar with a little hammer cracked me up, (wait till she gets to be a teenager), I like the way Mireya doesn't put up with it, I think she is the only one that doesn't spoil her.

Antonio seems to agree that CuQuis would be a good wife for Benigno, tying together two powerful families, Lu on the other hand, didn't she blame Benigno for Xiang's death.

so will tonight be our Mother's day show?

GENERAL:

I'm not watching Camelia or Otra Piel, but I appreciate all the work the recappers put in each day. Sometimes I read the posts for the tns I'm not watching and find them every bit as entertaining as the recaps for the one I'm watching. You guys are awesome!

LADO A LADO:

Romy- I didn't know anyone else was watching Lado. Isabel and Laura have a tough road ahead of them as they try to be independent women at the turn of the last century, without being labeled whores/loose women. I wish Jose would quit with the back and forth. Either he should accept Isabel as she is now (and stop assuming she slept her way to the top), or he needs to set her free. Laura needs to give Edgar a break. He's been nothing but supportive, and the mother of his child is always going to be a part of their lives. Laura gives that woman power by reacting so negatively every time she walks into a room or is mentioned.

En Otra Piel

Kelly, thanks for the recap. Things are finally starting to happen in this novela. I think the Perv will stay around longer. He's the only one, other than Lorena, with real evidence against Elena & Gerardo.

I like Eileen and Ricardo as a couple. I was hoping for a reconciliation between Ric and Cami but they're boring together. Eileen, on the other hand, has too much energy. Ric and Cami will probably team up again to solve a few mysteries so Eileen may not be a permanent replacement. Just someone to lift his spirits (like Ernesto is supposed to do for her).

It was eerie watching Elena peer over Mondriana's shoulders at the end. She’ll probably start to suspect her and that won’t be good for Elena/Gerardo. Kinda funny that now he really IS in love with Monica Serrano. And why are the protagonists always so careless. Both Elena and Gerardo have entered her place uninvited in the past yet she continues to leave info that she stole from Elena out in the open. It’s just a matter of time before Elena strikes. I can see it now – Elena & Carlos vs. Mondriana & Gerardo (& Diego, perhaps Jorge, etc.).

Thanks to the recappers for all of their hard work.
I’m new here and have commented a few times in the past month. My goal was to watch this novela without English subtitles in order to practice my Spanish. However I hate not knowing what’s happening…so I’m still using the subtitles. Either way, I’ve enjoyed the recaps. They have both explained a few confusing details and introduced me to a few Spanish expressions. I’ll continue to chime in here and there if you choose to continue.

I'm also rambling this morning and there are 3 things I forgot to mention.

1. What's the likelihood that Jorge is Elena's father if that means she slept with her uncle. Do novelas ever cross this line?

2. I'm more convinced that Jorge will bequeath the land to his nieces. He seems to really like them and may want/need to prove that he wants to be part of their lives.

3. In addition to Mondriana, I'm a lil nervous for Vicky. She can certainly rat out Elena which means Elena won't hesistate to get rid of her.

Two announcements for todays epi. There was a special report about an earthquake in Mexico today during the program. I hope everyone is safe down there. Also it was announced that the Grand Finale for AB is next Thursday. Don't miss a day!

Part I

Tifon's eyes are slowly being opened. After Reg reveals Carm's past he is pithed. She puts the theatrics on again. He wants the truth so she gives her version. She was poor and hungry, starting hooking when she was eighteen in order to live. Tifon is pithed that she lied to him all these years. She accuses him of now being on Nina's side. He thinks she took that lana from the charity too. Tifon says Carm has betrayed him all these years. Who is the real Carm he wants to know. She says she loves him. He wants alone time, she begs forgiveness and doesn't want him to leave her, he goes.

Familia is at table, all but Tifon and he comes in and it's confession time, either she tells them or he will. So in front of the whole familia she tells them about being a ho in her previous life. She was abandoned by her Papa at Tiradero, she's crying her crocodile tears. She says that she was very poor, hungry all the time and wanted a life. She lived on the streets and was very hungry, even went to her Papa's house to beg for food and he turned her away. Muricy cries, Ivana is upset, Tifon is trying not to roll his eyes and Lelelco is just listening. She begs them not to punish her for this former life of hers and begs forgiveness. Muricy doesn't know if she can, Ivana is going to work, Muricy and Aduato go, Tifon too and Leleco goes off without a word. Carm stops the tears and then growls.

Leleco and Tifon are in his room and they are talking about Carm's jewels being gone. Tifon really believes she has stolen money from him all these years. Tifon thinks she gave the money to Max. He also believes she took the money from the charity, so they are going to set her up.

Leleco gives Tifon a ring he gave or was going to give to Tessa. It is a huge diamond. Carm comes and goes on and on about how badly she feels. Tifon says he believes her, she's the victim after all and she suffered! She forgave him and now he is forgiving her. He gives her the ring. She is so very happy! She loves him bestest man and most generous in the world. She'll be the best wife, yadda, yadda. Tifon tells her he's taking a nap, didn't sleep well last night and goes upstairs. She takes her bag and goes and Leleco and Tifon follow her right to the pawnshop, where she pawns the ring. Leleco is pithed.

Suelen and Leandro, I missed part of this convo. He wants him to be great I think and like Chivo. Like a billy goat? Anyhoo, he goes and Suelen calls Wallerson, the main guy on the team and hooks up with him at his place on the beach. They went by helicopter. There are lots of women there and all cozy up to this guy. He is a first class jerk. He eyes the women like cattle and tells Suelen he is looking for some women to spend the night with them and she is pithed, causes a ruckus and he has security escort her out. She has no way back, sits on the curb and cries.

I am not able to comment here at Caray, Caray! because i read on another's computer when possible, but today i found a way to at least say THANK YOU, ALL, for making it possible for me to understand these amazing telenovelas, and, so, to be learning Spanish at last!

You all make it delightful fun!

En Otra Piel:
Thanks for great, funny recap, Kelly. I particularly liked your description of Cami standing there "while a big, heavy bookshelf hangs on the wall over her head, just waiting for the Big One to hit."

I didn't actually get to see the capitulo and now I'm on a plane headed for earthquake country myself.

NovelaMan : I am guessing that Jorge is Elena's father based on certain hints that have been dropped - Lorena's behavior when Jorge was mentioned and the fact that Jorge told Selma that he had no children "that he knew of." My many years of experience in watching novelas tells me that Elena's father is going to turn up at some point. I could certainly be wrong.

AVENIDA BRASIL QTA-feira

Part II

Tifon and Leleco have followed Carm to the Yacht Club. Carm gives the money to Max and Tifon comes on the boat and accuses her of having pawned that ring to give the money to Max. Carm is fit to be tied. Says that she is helping Max out, he's suicidal she tells Tifon. Tifon isn't buying it and Max tells him he put up with humiliation at Tifon's house, but won't have it on his boat. Tifon says she is Mama Jori, and Agatha, a ho, and Max's lova since they were young. Carm denies and denies and Max defends Carm. Carm tells them to stop, this is all Nina's doing. Nina manipulated Tifon, Max and now Jori. Tifon leaves and Carm runs after him, she doesn't want him to leave her. She wants to go home with him, but he leaves her there and goes off with Leleco.

Leleco and Tifon drive off, and Tifon is so pithed he isn't watching where he is going. Leleco has Tifon pull over and Tifon calms down and says Jori was right. Tifon also said something about the manicomio and a cure. I think he meant that he thought the manicomio would cure Carm, but it surely didn't.

Max and Carm on the yacht, and she says all Tifon now needs is the DNA and he'll know they have been lying. Max assures her they wont' get it. He tells her, her marriage is now over let's go from here. Carm says whateva he wants, they smooch, she goes home to get her things.

Tifon and Leleco visit Jori and Nina says she'll go, but they want her to stay. She tells them that Max and Carm have been in cahoots since she's known them. Max dropped her off at Tiradero, Carm took Genesio's money. Leleco now believes Carm stole from Tifon all these years. Nina is relieved he finally knows all. They are still on the fence about the kidnap though. How did they get this fortune to set up Nina? She tells them it was her inheritance that she had given to Max as blackmail payment. They don't quite believe this and go. Nina and Jori just glad that at least they are seeing Carm for who she is.

Mama L comes to see Max on the yacht and has brought him some sweet treats. He tells her he is leaving finally and Carm is going with him. She is having a hard time believing Carm is going. Mama L tells him to leave without Carm.

Jori and Nina are hoping that Carm and Tifon are now done. Nina says the problem is Max, he is money hungry. Nina thinks that Carm and Lucio are going to do something.

Mama L and Max and she is trying to convince him to leave without Carm. Ivana comes and Max introduces Ivana to her MIL! Ivana is like Que?????

Tifon and Leleco need more proof. Tifon has decided to separate from Carm again and Ivana is separated from Ivana, she is such an innocent.

Carm has gone to see Lucio. He wants nothing to do with her, Max almost killed him. She wants him to go to the yacht and get rid of Max. But not directly kill him. The they can be toghetha foreva. If he won't do she'll find someone else who will. He goes with Carm, Jan sees, and tries to stop him.

Ivana can't quite believe that Mama L is her MIL. She thinks it's a joke and Max assures her it's not. Mama L goes. Ivana wants to know why he never said. He was embarrassed. He wants them to go out to dinner later, he is readying the yacht and she goes.

Madelaine: why is your name French? I am a native French speaker that's why I asked. Thank you so much for all the work you do for us. I read it everyday and look forward to it.
@Vivi: I have been watching since you posted that link. I agree with you the ladies are having a hard time of it but sexism still exists today. I love Edgar and Laura is too intransigent. Jose should be n or out and Constanza is a secret hoochie, lol

AVENIDA BRASIL QTA-feira

Part III

This is where the special report came in and when we get back, it's Carm and Max on the boat. Max is happy they are going. They are out to sea. Carm pours champagne while Max puts on music and she drugs his drink. They dance, say how happy they will be, and Max starts feeling the effects of the drug. They are on the bed and Carm is begging Max to forgive her. He doesn't say a word and passes out. Lucio comes in a launch, breaks the scuppers and the yacht is sinking. Lucio has to pull Carm off. But there is a saving grace, Mama L is on the yacht! As Lucio and Carm go off, Mama L picks up the radio, hollers a Mayday, the yacht is sinking and then goes to find lifejackets. She puts one on herself and Max and they are in the water. Meantime, Lucio is worried about what happens next. What if the body is found? Carm tells him not to worry. Everything in hand. Mama L and Max are picked up by a fishing boat. Max is still out of it and Mama L wants him to live

Ivana is going to the yacht and Carm comes home. Ivana tells Carm about Mama L being her MIL. The Coast Guard calls and tells them about the "accident" and that Max is missing, I think.

Max and Mama L still on the fishing boat and Max is awake, he doesn't want the Coast Guard to tell the familia he is alive, would rather they think he is dead. He asks Mama L to protect him.

Muricy calls Tifon and tells him what happened. Tifon and Leleco go to Jori's and tell him what happened. Tifon thinks Max is dead. Jori thinks that Carm killed him. Leleco isn't sure, but I left a part out. Jori went to see Jan and she told him about Lucio going off with Carm. Jori thinks that Lucio and Carm did this and he's upset.

Ivana is very upset and grieving. She thinks Max is alive. They pray as Tifon and Leleco come home. Carm is still there. Ivana blames Tifon for throwing Max out. They mention something about maybe this was a crime and now Ivana is even more upset. Ivana can't think of Max at the bottom of the ocean. Tifon also thinks that maybe Max is alive.

Mama L brings Max home to Tiradero. The yacht is gone and Mama L assures him that Carm had no intention of going with him. He feels for the first time that she is his Mama and thanks her for saving his life.

Jori comes home and Nina and he talk. He wonders if Carm could really kill Max over that DNA, so Tifon wouldn't be able to get it? Nina thinks that Carm could be a killer, and Jori upset cause these are his bio parents. He is worried about Ivana how she is grieving. Nina comforts Jori.

It's morning and Mama L asks Max how he is doing. She still wants him to leave, go to Miami or the Caribbean like he always wanted to. She has no money to give him but he can work and save up to go. Max can't let Carm get away with what she did to him. He's gonna get her back for this. He saved those compromising pics that Nina took of them. Oi, Oi, Oi!!!!!!

Romy:

I'm actually of German descent. I lived in Germany until I was seven. My Mother loved France and we had been a couple of times. She always loved French names and so she named me Madelaine Marguerite and my brother Marcel. I do speak French but it is very rusty, I haven't spoken it in years.

EN OTRA PIEL - MIERCOLES

Thanks so much, Kelly. Terrific recap with a generous dose of snark.

I also really like Ricardo and Eileen together. I think that's the first time we've seen a warm, amused smile from the guy.

I meant to comment earlier that it's pretty strange that a US Senate candidate would do his KICKOFF in Spanish. If he were fluent, he might do a campaign speech for some sort of Latino organization in LA, but the very first one? Of course, we have to suspend disbelief at all the Spanish speaking waiters, coffee baristas, taxi drivers, etc., etc., that are fluent Spanish speakers in novelas taking place in the US.

Kelly, I got a big kick out of the bookcase waiting for the Big One.

Since they didn't actually show Carlos plugging Judge Pervo, I agree that he may live another day, somehow.

Poor Vicki. I've got a bad feeling about her life expectancy. No sooner did we get to see her warm response to Jorge than he got her to say something that will drive Elena nuts. I don't know if Vicki knows that Elena was the amante, but the fact that she knows there was one at all could doom Vicki.

Thanks to all the folks who chimed in with their thanks. And keep the comments coming!

Avenida

Madelaine you are simply the best. Am going to miss your recap tomorrow.

Avenida Brasil:
Thanks so much, Mads, for the great recap! I am traveling and didn't 'to get to see the episode. I can't believe the novela will end in a week. I want to stay longer in these crazy people's lives.

This comment has been removed by the author.

@Madelaine, those are beautiful names. My bro in law is German. Anyhoo, Thanks for answering. Once again, thanks for the recaps.
Avenida: Carmina is a snake she's willing to kill her lifelong love to preserve her marriage to Tifon's money, lol cause she does not Tifon. Will Max turns on her? or will she sweet talk him with her lies?

@Madelaine, noticed my name? Romy for Romy Schneider. You have French names I have a German one. What a loss :( I loved all the Sissi movies as a teen.

EN OTRA PIEL

Is this the end of Figeroa? I thought surely there had to be some corrupt officials and cops on his side. Unless they abandoned him in fear now that he has been unmasked.

We all know that Ric and Cami will stay together in the end but I still cant stand her whining.

Camelia,

I thought I saw last night, "capitulos finales", as they put it.

Facundo got his new ID and a gun, he's a lieutenant, I guess under captain Ortiz.

some interesting conversations,

Antonio sincerely apologizes to Camelia for sending Emilio and everything else that happened afterward, (but he will never regret looking for her), and offers her anything,
she wants to leave.

Octavio tells Arnulfo, Antonio no longer has a provider and when he's out of product, he's done, we on the other hand have Cuquis, "we won".

Benigno tells a locked up Camelia, that not papa or mama but "Ben" was her first word, that he helped her mother to escape, and that Rosaura would call now and then to let him know how Camelia was doing, that it was all Lu's fault, the 'witch' was always meddling.

meeting with Octavio/Arnulfo, Cuquis is upset because one of her truck drivers was shot, Octavio makes like how tough they are, and she laughs, you guys remind me of a show I saw in Las Vegas with Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis jr., so here's the deal, CuQuis pays them for protection, if her shipments don't arrive they cover the cost, triple, and oh yea, she wants to use their routes to ship lingerie,
what?, that's another negotiation Octavio says,
it's already been negotiated, Cuquis answers,
are we partners, yes or yes,
Octavio takes the suitcase full of money.

emilio asks Stan about killing people, he has and he says it's never a good thing, even if it was a bad guy, they have friends and family that are hurt, his dad was murdered like emilio's, that's why he joined the police.

Hilda drinks her tequila alone, eyeing the empty shot glass across from her, hoping someone will join in, when Alison arrives, after some words Alison makes it clear that she and emilio will never return as long as those guys are here, later we see Hilda in the background listening to Arnulfo talk business.

at the jail Antonio makes Camelia a deal, he says she is right and he will do what he can so that she can have a fresh start, by squashing the warrant for her.

Ortiz, Facundo, Stan and Alison go over the city report, the Reyes brothers, who operated out of a butcher shop were found dead a couple of weeks ago, the strike is being strong armed, so there is a power struggle to gain control of Tijuana.

Alma has a dream, someone will die, she calls for her papa, Mireya tells her to go back to sleep, or better yet, don't wake up, Alma goes looking for Antonio and runs into Camelia, Alma says she no longer has a dad, because Camelia is now his daughter.

Lu's call (to Rosuara) she says to take Camelia at once.

and at the dinner party, a laid back drunk Benigno on one of Cuquis' pills, and a hopped up drunk Cuquis toast everything, "three cheers to Ben being all over me" she says.

AVENIDA BRASIL, General

OK last few episodes. Like Vivi, I'm really gonna miss these crazy people.

Questions we need answered:

Why did Santiago leave Carmina at the tiradero?

What secret is Santiago hiding from Lucinda?

What does Nilo know about Santiago?

Who was Clarita, the girl Lucinda mentioned and whose picture we've seen once?

How did Carmina meet Genesio? Was he a client?

Why does Carmina love Max's son Jorgito but not Max's daughter Agata?

Where did Max stash the photos?

Is Carmina evil because she was an abused child?

Why did Carmina leave Jorgito with Lucinda, a woman she detests?

Will Suelen end up with Roni?

Will Darkson end up with Tessalia?

Will Debora end up with Iran?

Will Leleco and Muricy end up back together, leaving Adauto in the cold?

Will Monalisa end up with Silas again?

Who will Carlitos choose?

Will Sonia return to Diogenes?

Feel free to add more.

Who will Carlitos

Vivi, Sue 455 and Jean:

Thanks as always for stepping in for me when I wasn't able to do recaps. You Ladies are awesome.

Just a reminder, I will be unable to recap Friday and this coming Monday. If anyone would like to put up some bullet points that would be very appreciated. I will be back to recap this coming Tuesday all the way to the end on Thursday. I will greatly miss this TN.

EN OTRA PIEL – JUEVES

Jean is in California, so I’ll just put up some quick snapshots.

It seems that Mondriana overheard Vicki tell Jorge that Julián had a lover, but it doesn’t appear that Elena actually heard it.

Carlos gets Figueroa to get on his knees and humiliate himself, saying he’ll spare him but kills him anyway. Makes it look like suicide. Even leaves a note.

Gabriel continues to insist he’ll fight for Jennifer, but Rodrigo gets Diego to try to reason with him.

Gerardo tells Ernesto that Mónica found out about his being a gigolo.

Elena tries to be charming with Jorge, but he senses that she doesn’t want him talking with Vicki. She insists that’s not the case and then goes on with a tale about Vicki becoming soft in the head.

Mondriana tries at length to get Vicki to tell her about Julián’s lover, but Vicki is adamant and even says she’ll get Camila to fire Mondi if she keeps it up.

Elena again tries to get Lorena to drink when she comes in during Jorge’s visit. After he leaves she snarls at her mother that she has to get him to leave town or he might meet the same fate as Figueroa. She doesn’t want him snooping around. Later she completely terrorizes poor Vicki, who begs to be given a stipend to retire. Elena refuses.

Diego convinces Gabriel to be patient, save some money, and he and Jen can go away. He offers to visit her and explain.

When Jorge, Emiliana, and Mondriana go to look at the vineyards, he asks Mondi (when Emi isn’t there) again about her altruism about the daughters. He comments on her maturity, and it almost seems he senses Mónica inside her.

Elena is convinced someone in the household copied the flash drive. She goes to the Guest House while Mondi is in the vineyards and goes straight to the laptop. After 4 or 5 fails, she gets the password right. She can’t find anything right away and then Carlos calls her to meet him at the office. Whew. Hopefully it’s not still on there because now she knows how to get into the laptop.

Diego tries to convince Jennifer, but she doesn’t even let him tell her Gabriel’s plan. While they’re talking, it seems that Rotty and his gang are walking toward them.

At the office Elena asks Carlos to find out who put that video up. We now know it was Esteban.

Mondriana is telling Selma about how terrified Vicki was. She has a memory (voice distorted) of the voice she heard as she was dying saying that her daughters might be gotten out of the way. She tells Selma that the danger to her daughters is Julián’s lover!

PIEL

Thanks, Elena, for reminding me I need to change my passwords. Does anyone know what happened to the pics? I don't remember her deleting them. Or did she just hide them in a folder labeled, say, "gardening tips"? And what's with Camila calling Ric when she needs help? She dumped him (or something). She needs girlfriends she can talk to so she can back off of him.

Jean- Hope you're in CA for fun! I'm a little too far south to be too concerned about really big earthquakes, but close enough to be worried about stuff falling (esp when that stuff is over my head). But here's to an earthquake free weekend, just for you.

Kelly

Hi. I've been reading your Avenida Brasil recaps. I recently finsihed watching online, and I can't believe how fast it's finished in the US. I think they're showing two (or more) of the original Brazilian episodes per day!
You're about to reach the BEST part, and it seems like this Friday's episode is the one everyone's waiting for.

About your questions... I hope these are not spoilers:
-We won't find out how Carminha and Genesio met.
-We won't discover why Carminha doesn't love Agatha
-They've already (kind of) explained why Carminha left Jorginho at tiradero, because she had a modelling opportunity. This is probably true, and after tht she met Genesio. This, however, will not be covered in detail in the final episodes. I was surprised they didn't revisit Carminha's version of this.
-Everything else you ask will be revealed soon!

I forgot to say, the only version of AB that's available online is from the Chilean broadcast that finished in Feb 2014.

The final episode was INCOMPLETE in Chile; there are about 15 minutes were included in the Brazilian broadcast but not in Chile. I've seen these scenes in Portuguese on Dailymotion, but didn't understand everything as the video didn't have subtitles.

I don't know if it will be the same in the US. I certainly hope not, because I'd love to see these scenes either in Spanish, or with subtitles.

I can't find any information about other Spanish language countries, so who knows if it was a Chile-only thing, or if the Spanish dub is incomplete for all countries.

CAMELIA:

You're up, you're down, you never know in this show. Take Benigno. Yes, please, TAKE him! No, I like him, last night he replaced his pink scarf with a yellow one. Cookies enters unannounced, and Narciso is sitting in Ben's lap! Clothes are off. Whoops! Cookies leaves, Ben is destroyed. He starts popping more of Cookies' pill, tells Lu the marriage is off.

But it's not! Cookies later suprises him again, says she should have knocked, and she's been looking at some really cute invitations. She gives him a big kiss. Hallelujah! thinks Be.

Alma tells Mireya the words to her song are stupid, gives some suggestions, by Mireya doesn't listen. Later, Alacran tells Mireya she's just a kid. This destroys her, she was thinking she and the Scorp had a thing going. Alma can tell her wailing has to do with love.

Alacran is not feeling too good. It turns out he has a toothache. Camelia to the rescue! Using her dental skills, she pulls out Alacran's rotted tooth with pliers, and he's feels better! Antonio tells Cami that once he solves her warrant problems, he'll help her realize her dreams of being a dentist, if she wants. She's grateful.

Lu meets Rosaura outside on the grounds. They hate each other, but both want Cami to leave the ranch. Antonio comes out, there's a tense meeting, but in the meantime, the word is out, the cops are looking for Camelia (and Antonio). So Antonio won't let Cami leave the ranch. Cami agrees only if Rosaura can stay, too, and Antonio grudgingly says yes. Lu isn't happy.

Facundo is assigned to the town. He walks into Ben's office, says Ben will have to provide HIM with some office space here, he's the law, and despite Ben's pleas and mild threats, Facundo says there's no choice. Somehow it comes out that Camelia is Antonio's daughter. Facundo is enraged, thinks Cami knew this all along, and played him for a fool!

He then visits Antonio, telling him he's going to arrest Cami and Antonio, he's just letting them know nicely, so they can cooperate. Cami sees Facundo out her window, rushes down, and wants to explain. But he won't let her, saying it's too late, and she lied to him.

Hilda has a great idea. Turn Octavio and Arnulfo against each other, let them destroy each other, and she'll get the town back! She first goes to see Octavio, acts meek as a mouse, says she knows he's the big boss, but how come Arnulfo is secretly taking the money from the truck strike and using it on the side without telling Oct? Then Hilda dresses up sexy, seduces Arnulfo again, and asks him, how come Octavio seems to be gathering lots of men against you? Her trap may be working.

Or not. She tells Allison about her brilliant plan, and that there's another shipment of drugs tonight. Allison tells McQueen and Ortiz. Arnulfo tells Hilda that SHE has to personally deliver the drugs this time, and when she does, she's arrested! McQueen thanks Ali for the tip. I'm not sure Ali knows she just got her Mom in jail! Allison and Stanley are also feeling some nice mutual attraction. And little Emi finally tells his Mom he loves her. Awwwww.

Sorry if this recap was a little out of order, but maybe my brain is :)

Camelia,

thanks so much Hombre!
you do such a wonderful job of putting all of the scattered pieces back together again.

the witch (Lu) who never stops meddling has brought Rosura to the ranch to get rid of Camelia, and gets stuck with both of them, Ha!, (but where is Rosura staying, they don't have any more bedrooms)

wasn't it when Alma went shopping that Facundo ran into her and it was Alma that spilled the beans about Camelia. It's hard to say if Alma is good or bad, can we really blame her for wanting to strike back at a world that has dealt her such a crummy hand, and she did do her best to save the girls at the school.

Octavio seems to be sniffing and snorting a lot, hanging out in that dark club with the girls, I think he misses Dani.

I wonder how many pills and drinks it took to calm down Cuquis enough to return to Benigno and continue on with the marriage, she seems to be quite politically oriented, of course this is the 70's so she really couldn't run for office herself, could she?

I love it when Alison smiles.

CAMELIA:

Deb, thanks for the correction that it was Alma who told Facundo about Camelia.

Octavio, along with Ben and Cookies, they're all getting a little too far into mind altering substances. Dani was, too. But I think this is true to the times.

I also love when Allison smiles, I always thought she was very cute, not so much when she was dragging through the desert, but the sparkle in her eyes is back.

CAMELIA:

And speaking of being back, General U was in the show again, telling Octavio that his deal with with Oct alone. He can live with Arnulfo. But Antonio has to be eliminated!

EN OTRA PIEL

Kelly, thanks for reminding me about Camila's call to Ricardo. I really, really, hope she doesn't end up with him. She called him about finding out about Figueroa. When he saw her name on his cell, I was hoping he wouldn't answer! She unloads her news and when he asks if she wants to meet to discuss it she blows him off. He sort of stares at the phone like ¿Que? This would be a really good time for Eileen to call him!

En Otra Piel

thanks novelera!!!

and to all of the "En Otra Piel" recappers and commentators, I'm still hanging in their but you guys are so good I don't have much to say.

let's see Kelly, Monica made a copy of Elena's flash drive to another flash drive that she gave to Selma for safe keeping, but she still looks at the picts on her laptop, the only one in her place and the only one Emiliano uses every day, so they must be on there somewhere, I think Elena just didn't have enough time.

I guess the video is moot now that the judge is dead, but was his death suspect at all, Carlos did shoot him from a distance, was it from the left side, but he was smart enough to put the gun in his hand (right or left) and shoot it again, must be one of those neighborhoods where gunshots are common.

Jenni did get to show Diego her new face, (our new crusader for abused women), after taking on all the prison could dish out, I don't think the puppy gang will get the better of him, interesting how Rodrigo's answer is to be smart about this whole thing, always coming up with the win/win solutions.

Javier Gómez (Julian/Jorge) played a hotel chain owner with a troubled life in "La bella Ceci y el imprudente", and was mistaken for the new waiter and went with it,
is an easy guy to like.

En Otra Piel

Deb, thanks! I had forgotten that Mondriana no longer had the video on her laptop and had given the flash drive to Selma. But weren't the photos of Gerardo on the same drive and thus are still on the laptop? Wouldn't that be clear evidence that Mondi took it?

Well, maybe Emiliana will spill her lemonade on the laptop and fry it!

Avenida

Sue455 - I have always thought from the beginning that Carlitos will end up with all 3, I can't see any other conclusion to this as the writers never gave the women a chance to move on. But I FF through all this stuff and only know what I read here. We will find out soon enough.

Since the introduction of Santiago (who I thought would turn out to be a pedophile?), I've felt he committed a crime that Mama L took the blame for and that's what Nilo knows.

I don't know why I've always felt that Max and Carm were related due to Santiago. As you can tell I do not like that character, it could be something about a grown man working on dolls...

The only thing I hope for is Tifon ends up with MonaLisa. She seems to know him like a book, and I think he needs a woman like that.

En Otra Piel

All I can say is that Im tired of how Ric keeps sucking up to Cami.

I think Vicky is about go get offed.

En Otra Piel

I thought Vicki was going to get it for much of last night's episode, Novela Man. Now, I'm wondering why Elena would go to so much trouble telling Jorge that she was getting senile if she planned to kill her.

My hunch is that at some point, maybe the last week, Vicki will tell about seeing Elena returning from where Julián died with blood all over her blouse.

En Otra Piel

Interesting that Elena didn't want to retire Vicky. Maybe she thinks it'll raise suspicion if Vicky disappears now that Jorge, her new best friend, is on the scene. In the real world I'm sure Jorge would gladly pay for her retirment in exchange for her testimony against Elena but the antagonists are given too much power in novelas. I'm still shocked that the live-in servants actually share a bedroom.

I would also find the Perv's death suspect...simply because he's the most hated man of the moment. I guess lying when he said that if he died suspiciously all eyes would be on Elena/Gerardo. They never really showed him with anyone else except Carlos and that was later.

The producers are definitely teasing us with Emiliana and the laptop. I'm hoping she won't discover them because Elena/Cami would certainly fire her.

Camelia

"capitulos finales"

apparently federal trumps local as Facundo shows up in Badiraguato, annonncing his presence, Benigno, putting his comic book aside, lets him know he should leave, but Facundo tells him it's been decided, I'm not here to ask your permission, I'm staying.

Arnulfo hearing about the lost shipment wants to know if it was bad luck, or if someone is on to that route.

loved Hilda's plan to turn the bosses on each other, as Franco greets her with, "as far as I know it's not Halloween yet", and Arnulfo, using the match he lit his after-sex-cigarette with to singe the other end, compliments her, "the older the fiddle, the sweeter the music". Later he lets her know about moving up the next shipment but wants her to handle it, because he doesn't want Franco to know about it, to use the extra money against him, right?, Hilda asks.

meanwhile the General is in town, Franco says our deal was I would run the business, supply the merchandise and you are to free up the road, the General replies but the deal was with you, I don't mind Arnulfo but YOU have to get rid of Antonio or I will get rid of both of you.

Alison goes by to see Hilda, who is so proud of herself, talks of her plan and about the shipment that night, "this town will be mine again" she brags, talking of the old days when she and Nacha wouldn't let men make them feel inferior.

later, Stan and Ortiz, with Alison being quiet, say the shipment isn't important, but they want to catch the big fish, HER, (I don't think they know it is Alison's mother, but I think Alison does) later when Stanley tells Alison about capturing HER, and that she will probably spend the rest of her life in jail, Alison kisses him, and when he leaves, do we wonder if that wasn't her plan all along.

Arnulfo and Jacinto drop by Octavio's private bordello, Jacinto gives a little wave to the girls, Arnulfo says, we got rid of our little problem, and SHE was thinking she was so smart.

as Mireya writes a too simple love song Alma says, why don't you add a line like "not even the sun will outlast our love", Mireya asks if she has ever been in love, no, I'm just a girl.

later after Alacran has dissed her, Mireya lies crying in her bed, is it over love, Alma asks, and gives her a music book as a present. you should write a song about heartbreak, they are bigger hits.

when Facundo runs into Alma and asks what she is doing in Badiraguato, she says she's back, we are all back, YOU, my dad and from long ago, Camelia, Antonio's daughter, Facundo feeling betrayed by Camelia calls McQueen, who tries to calm him down, the best revenge is justice, just think like a cop and arrest her, "it's too late for that" Facundo says.

later when Facundo shows up at the ranch, Antonio says I remember you with Nacha at rancho Osuna, as Facundo says, Nacha isn't a problem and you won't be soon.

upon leaving, Camelia catches up to him, did you come for me?, (while not letting her explain) I came for you and your father, and the next time we meet there will be bars between us.

AVENIDA BRASIL, Sexta-feira

Anon 3:09: When Santiago was first introduced I said he gave me a creepy vibe. I also thought he could be a pedophile. He said, I think, to Lucinda, "I like to make the children happy." That made me think of Michael Jackson and Neverland.

Unknown: Yes, Telemundo broadcast AB in mostly 2-hour segments so it did go pretty fast. The original hour-long series in Brazil debuted in March and ended in October. Telemundo showed ads for AB that made us believe that it would join their nightly lineup of novelas. It seemed like at the last minute they decided to air it during the day. I feel that was a mistake because I think it would have been popular had it been aired at night. AB has been aired in many countries and has been very successful. I read that the president of Brazil had to change her schedule so that she could catch the gran final.

OK it's a novela and it's not perfect. I remember a couple continuity issues and for a while the protagonista was not very likeable. In fact, during that time I called Nina "loathsome". Certain storylines I didn't care for like Suelen in the beginning, pretending to be pregnant and fingering several Divinos, or the whole Dolores/Sonia saga. Carlitos and his three families was humorous but if it weren't for Jorgito being engaged to Debora I would have thought I was watching a whole other novela.

But, in spite of all that, I do have to say that it's one of the best novelas I've ever seen. (I've been watching novelas, off and on, for a good 30 years.) Does anyone know what's going to replace AB?

AVENIDA BRASIL

I forgot to add that I have a cat statue similar to the one on the table at Tifón's house. Guess I'm not sophisticated! lol!

En Otra Piel

Thanks very much, novelera, for your helpful "snapshots" of Thursday's episodio. I was out last night and just got to watch the episode a few minutes ago. I think you included just about everything important. The only omission I can recall--and it's not an important one, I think--is that Selma and Esteban had themselves a quickie at the office, after which Esteban told Selma that he really would like the two of them to live together. She seemed surprised.

Even though I saw the episode less than an hour ago, I can't recall exactly where Carlos was when he shot Figueroa. My vague impression is that he shot him in the back of the head, which would (or at least should) raise questions about the death being a suicide. So perhaps I'm not remembering correctly. It wouldn't be the first time...or the ten thousandth time.

Kelly, even more than reminding us to change our passwords, Elena's success in getting into Monica's computer brings to mind the advice about never using a guessable password--not your birthdate, or the names of your children/spouse/pet, or your favorite book or piece of music, etc.

deb, since Carlos used a silencer, the two gunshots wouldn't have been heard very far.

Well, I'm nothing if not consistent. I said yesterday that I thought it was unlikely that Carlos would kill Figueroa, at least not yet. Wrong again. And again. And again.

Avenida Brasil - Friday or whatever that is Portuguese

Oí Oí Oí what an episode! Super lucky for me, the house where I am staying in CA has a DVR and I could tape and watch it.

I cried when Iran proposed to Débora - so sweet.

Max returns from the dead to the mansion to the tears and relief of everyone except Tifón and Leleco and Jorgito when he shows up to see what is going on.

Nina comes to see Mama Lucinda at the tiradero and gets her to confess that Max is alive and that it was Carmina that tried to kill him.

Janaína drags Lucio out of the cabaña.

In his final act at the mansion, Max ties Carmina up in the kennels, I think. He leaves a wrapped gift for Ivana. She opens it and it is the pictures of Max and Carmina. The jig is up for Carmina. Leleco hears her screaming for help. He unties her but it is too late. Max and Ivana have seen the photos and read Max's note, which leaves no doubt about their relationship.

All of Carmina's former supporters, like Ivana and Muricy turn on her. Tifón leads the pack and he throws her out of the house with nothing, not even her purse. In parting, she reveals that Muricy has been cheating on Adauto with Leleco. Poor Adauto is destroyed.

Jimmy, Carlitos' assistant who stole Carlitos' money, makes a move on Noemia through her stomach. He takes her to a restaurant where she stuffs herself and listens to his protestations of love.

Carmina turns up at the corrupt priest's house and is not the perfect guest. She complains about the food and the lack of towels.

The whole neighborhood (except Monalisa) witnesses Carmina's expulsion but Monalisa soon finds out about it. In her inimitable way, she goes over the rectory, tells Carmina off and then they get into a fight after Carmina tells her how she split Monalisa and Tifón up way back when.

Adauto leaves the mansion saying that Muricy was really Leleco's all the time.

Max gets drunk and show up at the tiradero asking for Mama Lucinda's help.

Jorgito tells Nina that he is going to give up fooling around on the football team. He knows that he will never be a star. He will get a job and they will find a place for Nina to start her restaurant.

Jorgito comes over to the mansion after Leleco tells him about Carmina. He tells Tifón that he is ashamed to be the product of two such evil people as Carmina and Max. Tifón reassures him that he will always love him as a son.

Mama Lucinda goes to see Sebastian. He agrees to help Carmina for Lucinda's sake. He keeps getting cell phone calls that he doesn't take. When Lucinda finally leaves, he tells the caller that the coast is clear and a guy comes in with dolls in which what appears to be jewelry, presumably stolen, has been hidden.

Secrets are being revealed.

CAMELIA:

Thanks Deb, for the juicy details!

Tufao and Muricy slapping Carminha was priceless! Loved how Carminha tried to convince them it was photoshop, and trying to play victim until the very last minute.

AVENIDA BRASIL

Miguel: They were the slaps heard round Divino!

Camelia

there were no Camelia captions at telemundo land today for last nights show so I won't be able to do a summary.

En Otra Piel

just so there is no confusion, I was thinking that 'everything' that is on Elena's flash drive is now on Monica's laptop (didn't she show Selma and Esteban the pervo judges video on it), and maybe there is more that we haven't seen.

I was able to go back and look at Carlos' shooting the judge, he did use the silencer with each shot, shot him close range, on the left side of the head, (although one scene showed him standing behind), put the gun in his left hand, and picked up the extra casing, so if the judge is left handed it was all perfect, except maybe, he removed the silencer and took that with him and I believe the silencer adds it's own ballistic signature to the bullet.

opening last night's show, Monica, who has discovered that Julian had a lover, is somehow convinced that this woman is very dangerous and is the one in the voice she hears, which is becoming clearer, now definitely a woman, who says, "...your fortune, your new husband, and your daughter's love as well, you know I've never been maternal, so I'll have to do something to get rid of them too".

Avenida Brasil

the local tv schedule is now showing the gran final next Thursday,
AND next Friday.

then Monday "Escrito en las Estrellas"

I haven't been able to watch this, but Madelaine's recaps are a must reading for me every day, as well as everyone's comments, thank you.

CAMELIA:

Here are some of the things I remember.

Stan asks Allison is she knows the woman who got arrested for moving the drugs (Hilda), whose picture is in the paper. Ali lies and says no. But by the end of the episode, Stan finds out that every time Hilda got arrested, she was always bailed out by her daughter - Allison, and he's mad.

Ortiz and Stan try to get Hilda to talk, to turn in Arnulfo, but she refuses. She rather serve 20 years than rat someone out (also, they could kill her if they found out). But something happens at the end (see below), which may get her talking.

Yes, Camelia's pregnant. She didn't even know it, despite the tell tale fainting, throwing up, and missing her period (Rosaura pointed that out to her). Rosaura thinks it's Emilio's, but we know better.

Antonio first wants Alacran to arrange an accident for Facundo, but then has a better idea. I can't remember what it was though.

Mireya confides in Camelia that she'll never get a man. She had that record producer who was killed, and now she had another guy, and he thinks she's a kid. Mireya accidentally lets out that the new guy was Alacran.

Mireya finds Alma's cassette tapes, all her dreams, asks her, do your dreams really come true? Alma answers, Yep.

Facundo and Benigno have another staredown, mutual threatening (after which Ben goes to Antonio for help, and thus we have Antonio's plan).

Arnulfo and Jacinto go to Cookies, hold automatic weapons on her, threaten her. But she continues to act like they can't touch her. They're mad she's going to marry Benigno, their enemy. She ends up saying she's still going to marry Ben, but they can do what they want to Antonio (whom they want to kill).

Octavio has a night of debauchery with the hookers, General U is doing it, too. Sure enough, in the morning, Oct wakes up to the sound of a girl screaming. He goes to investigate, sees the General choking the girl. Octavio is outraged, points his gun at General U. The General says you wouldn't dare, you'd be hunted down. But the girl is a snitch. Octavio, in his usual fog, then turns to the girl and shoots her. But their a wall of glass behind her, she falls through, and on the other side, is the police headquarters!!! Ten cops pull their guns on Octavio, he's arrested. General U (the bum) gets off scott free. Now that Octavio is in jail (and scheduled to be extradited to the US in 2 days), Ortiz and Stan tell Hilda she'd better start talking!

Camelia

thanks so much Hombre,
I love your recaps!

Octavio really went off the deep end trying to forget Daniela, but hanging out with the General was not a good decision. I don't know why that girl didn't run for her life when Octavio freed her, but I think when he shot her, she went through the frosted glass of a door in the hotel, right into a convention for retired police. (bienvenidos policias jubilados)

so Facundo gets the worse office in the place, and after he gets set up [and I see a wanted poster for Alacran for 200 dlls, (I read where dlls is short for dollars and in Mexico refers to U.S. dollars)], Benigno has it cleaned and all his stuff thrown away, was that an invitation to Benigno's wedding that Facundo found in place of his other stuff. (this should be a pretty interesting wedding)

was Hilda hitting on Ortiz, trying to get out of jail, and was Alison there to bail her out?

and Rosaura, Camelia's mother, seems to be taking everything nicely considering that the ranch used to be her house, and seemed a bit softened when Antonio asked for her help with Camelia.

I loved it when Cuquis got tired of Arnulfo who had everyone at gunpoint, and just walked out.

AVENIDA:

Thanks so much Jean. What an episode! Yes. The slaps heard round El Divino and the world. Usually not supportive of men slapping women, but I didn't feel bad for Carmina at all.

AVENIDA:

Oh, and Sebas is a jewelry thief. Now we can start to see where Carm picked up some of her bad habits. Can't wait till we find out more about the deep dark secrets.

Camelia

wow, agent Stanley McQueen, (Mario Loría) was Gastón Goicochea, the drunk news guy in "La Patrona", I like this guy.

CAMELIA:

I thought I recognized him from somewhere. He sure had a lot more hair product going on in La Patrona!

"El Señor de los Cielos 2"

is set to kick off Monday, 26 may 2014. in Camelia's time slot.

the secret chapter (7 parts ) is now all online,

this was interesting, filling in some holes, but ending where season 1 ended, the ball rolling up under Aurelio's foot.

(also of interest, Mónica Robles died in a hotel room kissing Aurelio, as he stabbed her, but is she really dead).

Hey can anyone post a good link where I can watch brazil avenue online with english subtitles... thankss xx
