Abdul is an AbDUMMY. He comes home drunk and starts a fight with Carmen. The next day he tells her he's leaving the house. He's going to live his life the way he wants. La Jaiba eggs him on for two hours. She calls him her man and offers him work. Carmen sends Padre Juancho to talk some sense into him to no avail. Padre Juancho also finds out the cantina is just a front for a brothel.

But it's OK!! Abdul's daddy is in the DF and he's shopping for computer equipment for his business. He asks a nice young lady to help. Her name is Natalia Garcia Pabuena!

Rod lets Grumps know that he talked to Diego and his leaving is not a good idea. Grumps is clearly all about the business since it's his "masterpiece."

Diego and Irene continue to work on their proposal to separate from Caprico. They think that since there is a crisis in the auto industry, Caprico will actually want the influx of cash that they are offering. (And this is the bit I don't get, they want to PAY to leave?)

Vicente is not pleased. He gets mad at Rodrigo for letting Diego know about Caprico's woes, but they both agree: they will NEVER let Eskenda go. Later, Grumps turns down their offer. Tad even throws in 10%. Vicente thinks Irene is trying to get back at him over the lost baby business. Jerk.

Speaking of the lost daughter: Slimy PI runs into the Tuxpan chismosas who tell him that the story about finding a baby in a manger is just a cover for the real truth. Padre and Carmen were lovers and the "foundling" was really their love child. Slimy PI decides to ask the newly rich fisherman (Andres) about Natalia. Slimy hits a brick wall because the Nouveau Fish(erman) has left town and his buddy is not forthcoming with info and wants to know why is the Slimy PI interested in Natalia? Slimy PI says he's just curious. Slimy PI calls Tad about this latest findings. Tad tells him there is NO way the rumors are true. He cites the fact that he knows both parties and the have impeccable characters. Biology is not discussed. Geeze that's stupid.

Where is the Nouveau Fish you ask? He's in the DF and he's still got his sights set on Nat. He and Diego almost get into it outside her apartment.

Confusing, right? Nat has filed a restraining order, so why the heck is Diego outside her apartment? It seems that Carmen had challenged El to get creative with his wooing and he thought a serenade would be nice. Diego, being the MENSA reject that he is, thought getting drunk and coming along would be a good idea. He was supported in this stupidity by El (who should know better) and Alonso (who also should know better.)

Needless to say, the serenade cum near fist fight was a flop. Carmen still ends up seeking out El at his apartment hoping he will help her with Abdul. El takes it the wrong way and thinks her cry for help is a cry for nookie. Al and Diego interrupt and later get a face full of pizza for the mistake.

Hmmm...

OH! Brigitte (who is dressed like a box of Valentine's chocolates for this episode.) She's back living with Alberto again. Her landlady kindly called Rodrigo and let him know he needs to pay up. He tells her no way. Later he discovers all Brat's stuff gone and surmises she's living with Alberto.

Alonso and Diego are watching out for Alberto, though. Diego is pretty sure Brat is not playing straight, but he doesn't want to say anything to Alberto until he knows more.

And the Gran Fin del episodio.....

Alberto lets Diego know that Nat needs his help with the divorce. You see, it's DIEGO's name on all the paperwork. It was under DIEGO's name that Rod married Nat. So, if DIEGO would be so kind as to sign the divorce papers. Diego gets a little funny little grin on his face when he asks Alberto to clarify...."Wait, so technically Nat and I are MARRIED?"

Yup, and the Avances confirm my thoughts....Nat yells at him to give her a divorcio!

JDC was hilarious when El smashed the pizza in their faces. He made such a funny face as he started to eat the pizza, licking the sauce off his face and offering a piece to Alonso, practically feeding it to him.

Come on, Natalia, you can't really be that naive! How do you just give your name and phone number to someone (an older dude, no less) who strikes up a conversation with you in a store. Seriously? WE (Viewerville) know who he is, but you sure don't! Idiota!

Hey Sara, I love your "rapido y furioso" recaps. Works for me. Yes, it was shocking that Natalia would be so forthcoming with a perfect stranger, but since we have to endure a further separation between Carmen and El, I have to say I like this new candidate. Very attractive.

Slimy, the PI is NOT, however. Love your name for him; hate the character.

My other favorite line was your characterization of Diego as a MENSA reject. Which then reminded me that slang in español for stupid is "mensa" or "menso". Interesting.

I was rather hopeful when the passionate kissing started and they ended up on the couch and then the floor, but alas...nooooo. Guess we'll have to wait for the Turkmobile to pass through before these two ever get together.

Thanks for another snappy recap, Sara. Hit the spot this morning.

Sara-Thanks for the quick recap and looking forward to reading more if you adds to it.

I didn't see this episode. Who is playing Abdul's daddy?

It's kind of funny that the town gossips are accusing Papa Juancho of being Nat's dad, since the actors really are father and daughter in real life. But those ladies are either idiots or don't understand biology since it has been mentioned a few times that Carmen was already pregnant with Brigitte when they found Nat. Maybe they think Carmen is an alien who can give birth to two full term babies in under one year, one of the times without even looking really pregnant.

Wow, I didn't know they are father and daughter in real life. Sometimes, with the hair and make-up, Natalia looks so much like Carmen. And sometimes I find she looks very much like Tadeo. But I sure never thought of Papa Juancho!

Looked it up, the actor who plays the Abdul's father is Eduardo Shaklett. I think he's yummy. But as Carlos says, opinions may differ.

Anon - I had the same thought. Stranger Danger!

Well since JudyB put it out there... Yes Abdul's daddy is very very guapo. IMO he could give El a run for his money. This actor also played the unattractive and abhorrent Ricky on Amorcito Corazón. What a difference a little facial hair makes.

And thank you Vivi for your comments on biology and human gestation. I had just assumed I missed something way back, but the thought did cross my mind that Carmen was already pregnant so how could that rumor have started.

I'll be back later to add more details. Right now I need my coffee.

Poor Padre Juancho. Even without being a young hottie, he has now twice been accused of improper conduct with a female parishioner. Were the problems Mara's mom caused resolved?

Sara, thank you for a witty, fun recap. I laughed out loud at "Abdul is an AbDUMMY". Hilarious. "Diego, being the MENSA reject that he is, thought getting junk and coming along would be a good idea" was just one of many of my other favorites.

I noticed the same last name for Nat and the Padre in the credits, and seeing somewhat similar facial features, did wonder if they were related. Thanks for confirming that Vivi!

Anon, I also enjoyed JCD and the pizza licking/eating. Do you think he improvised that? The actor playing Al seemed to hesitate for a bit and did manage to avoid eating it. I initially thought JDC was a questionable choice but he has earned my respect for a job well done.

Judy and Sara, I like Abdul's father too! So, each successive father that shows up appears to trump the last. Yes, he might give El a run for his money.

Abdul went from hero to zero in a nanosecond. The actor did such a good job though...

Yes, the "Slimy PI" is loathsome and it's unfortunate he was told the lie about the Padre. This is sure to muddy the waters further and delay the truth. I hope Tad knows Nat is his daughter soon, not on his deathbed.

I'm concerned with who Alberto will end up with once he discovers the truth about the Brat. I hope it's sooner rathre than later so he can move on.

Thanks again Sara! This was great.

Diana

Karen, hope you are doing well. You are missed! Hope you are able to rejoin us soon.

Diana

Sara thanks and what a conclusion to jump to "and thinks her cry for help is a cry for nookie"

PJ - don't want to spread a rumor but heard you're Khloe Kardashian's father

Carmen - "Friday night arrives without a suitcase
Sunday morning creeping like a nun
Monday's child has learned to tie his bootlegs
See how they run"

Nat - come on I'll show you where I live and oh my shoe size is a 7 but sometimes I wear a 7.5, my bra...

Andres - look at El, that's you in 20 years

El - just hold your horses pardner, there's another rider on the horizon

Abdul - go ahead and wallow in your own excrement but leave your mother out of it

Alberto - tfw when you know where her sour puss has been

Diego - stupid and can't sing either

Hot Rod - nobody's taking my golden teat

Tad - won't say I told you so but I told you so

tofie, "El - just hold your horses pardner, there's another rider on the horizon". Yesss!

Diana

tofie, "Abdul- Go Ahead and Wallow in your own excretment but leave your mother out of it," and, "Hot Rod- No one's taking my golden teat" are classic! I would have liked to see a one-liner for La Jaiba since she was rather prominent last night. Considering the restaurant is just a facade or front for a brothel, she certainly is a Krusty Krab now.

Judy- I just looked up Eduardo Shaklett. Yes, he's popped up in a few Lucero Suarez tns. He was a handsome businessman in Querido Enemiga who was unfaithful to his wife, and in Amorcito he was a loser criminal. He has range. He also is pretty muscular and tall, so I see how you could be into him if he is also sporting some nice facial hair.

Tofie- You got some real good ones today.

If I were a man, I think I would think twice about frequenting a brothel called the Crazy CRAB.

Sara, I love your rapid fire recaps! MENSA reject!!! Ain't that the truth! :))

Best scene for me: El and Carmen kissing on the couch. The dude is too handsome!!!

CorazonSalvaje, "Krusty Krab". Oh my!!! Crabs! That was excellent!! On the one hand, I'm thinking STDs and on the other hand, I'm thinking SpongeBob Squarepants!!

Fatima

When I was watching last night and Abdul made Carmen cry, I was hoping Jaiba would chime in and chide him for doing so (Should we nickname Abdul Abz or Dull Pencil for a Brain?) If I were Carmen (who I now wanna nickname 4men) or El, Dull Pencil for a Brain would have been slapped 2 ways up. (He's currently a waste of pretty packaging; I'm not over last night when I could have sworn he was in a grass mini skirt or for better or worse a loincloth)

Gracias, Sara!

Abdul is, indeed, an AbDUMMY! I don't know if I could go so far as saying this applies to real life, but on these shows at least, the guys who are obsessed with proving their "manhood" tend to engage in the most childish behavior. Abdul hasn't completely lost me yet, but last night was rough. He was like a drunk toddler throwing a tantrum. Not mature. Not attractive.

Speaking of drunks...I'm with you on that whole paragraph...Why was Diego there? Why did the people who should have known better (a) not stop him and (b) let him drink? Not that I think anyone *needs* to drink in order to sing, but isn't the drunken party at a serenata usually the person whose serenata it is? Seriously, dudes!
Anon at 2:51, the pizza thing had me howling!

Anon at 4:00 Agreed! I was yelling at the screen..."You have two guys with a lot of money who won't leave you alone and it doesn't occur to you that this guy could have been hired by either one of them to lure you somewhere?" I mean, I knew it was the next guy up in the Baby Daddy Parade (so I guess Brigitte's will be last) since Carmen gave El the "let's not jump into anything" speech, but still. Nat is not good at selectively applying caution.

JudyB, the almost-nookie scene was so frustrating. I thought it was going to be one of the two of them dreaming. I might have been less annoyed if it had been!

Livia Brito posted a really sweet picture of herself with her dad on Father's Day. It was weird to see him without the collar and glasses...he's kind of got a bit of a silver fox thing going :)

Vivi, hilarious observation about the town gossips in Tuxpan and their lack of biological knowledge. They must be so bored without Carmen there to feed the gossip mill. I wonder who their new target is.

tofie, "Hot Rod - nobody's taking my golden teat" Word! Could he have been any more obvious in front of Grumps? He could have a giant neon sign with "EMBEZZLER" blinking above his head and I'm sure Grumps would find a way to ignore it.

I hope Abdul was too drunk to expose himself to anything The Crab might be harboring. That would be a small comfort.

La Jaiba - I searched her LinkedIn profile and under current roles and responsibilities. Sole Proprietor of The Slut Hut

Career objectives: Make money. Annoy Carmen Garcia.

Ah Vivi...you DO know my tastes...in telenovios anyway. In real life, I have found very muscular men to also be very bossy, and I had enough of that growing up.

I do remember the fellow from Querida Enemiga now. And yes, he's very attractive (to me) with or without facial hair. And hopefully he'll be playing a nicer guy this time, even though he left Carmen in the lurch.

Which...speaking of trusting...who is more foolishly trusting when it comes to men...Carmen or Natalia?

Diva, you and Tofie are cracking me up. Now write la Jaiba's Mission Statement will you? I always find those self-righteous, real-life for profit business Mission Statements hilarious. As if...!

Yikes! I don't even know what criteria to use to evaluate that! OK, I'll say Natalia. Not because one of the men she blindly trusted is downright dangerous, but because she had to do a LOT of mental gymnastics to justify trusting someone she thought tried to rape her.

I dunno...would Jaiba have the necessary vocabulary to write a truly hideous Mission Statement?

Hi, Sara,

Thanks for the recap. I missed the episode last night - was attending my wife's retirement party (!).

Sounds like things are appropriately screwed up.

Ok, I went and added a bit more at the end because I completely forgot about Alberto's request that Diego help Nat with her divorce.

I'm about to go add the business bits and the conversation Tad had with Slimy the PI.

My word you are the fastest wit-slinger in the west, tofie!! Love that mission statement!

*Applause* for that mission statement.

@5ft and tofmeister,"Sole Proprietor of the Slut Hut and Annoy Carmen Garcia as a Career Objective" LOL Love it!

Everyone is making me smile today! Love the comments.

Judy, as to your question, I would have to say Carmen is more trusting - she followed her heart and has wonderful children but...

Diana

I added a few more things. Don't get too excited. It's not a lot.

Y'all know I'm sumamente lazy, right?

Ditto on the praise for the Tofie Mission Statement. You nailed it. (no pun intended)

Nailed...*giggle* *snort*

I'm 12.

What a great way to start my day! A little late but what the heck...

Thank you Sara for your recap. I missed the first 45 minutes as mi esposo was jerking around with the new tv. Why couldn't he have played with it while I was out? Maybe he should get in line for the mensa award.

Tofie, you are amazing with the mission statement!!

I really loved the pizza scene and I agree with an earlier comment about JDC being a questionable choice. He is doing a fantastic job with the twins.

My favorite is El. How is it that he is soooo handsome? How can Carmen resist? Mensa award??

Sara: Loved the down and dirty, so to speak, recap.

Please not another engagement between Carmen and a baby daddy! How much of this is El supposed to endure? Doesn’t make Carmen out to be a solid prospect. I hope this plot deals with Abdul, Jr. than with Carmen. Speaking of Abdul. Unusual name in Mexico would be my guess. Wouldn’t you have thought Nat would have said “oh, I have a brother named Abdul.”

Carmen’s smile when she got the balloon—I thought, isn’t it great when you’re being wooed.

Tad: DNA, dude.

Loved Alonso’s face when El and Diego were singing. Looked like he started to sing then couldn’t because he was trying not to laugh.

One more baby daddy to go. Brat’s papa. Now, that’s a father I’m curious to meet—as long as Carmen doesn’t get engaged to him.

Who was the blond woman Alonso was talking to on the phone?

OT: I’d like to ask a favor. If any of you are watching En Otra Piel on Telemundo, can someone let me know when they are about to wrap it up? I’d really like to see how it all turned out.

Nanette

Oh, Nanette! I guess that's something else I should add to the recap.

I got the impression the blonde was some relative (sister maybe?) and Alonso was going to be spending some time with her child. Seriously, I did not pay much attention. I'm not as dedicated as everyone else. I cannot stand 2 hour episodes. lol.

Supposedly after her experiences with all her baby daddies, Carmen has learned her lessons and that's why she wants to take it slow with Eleazar. Why, then, when the aforementioned daddies come back around does she not only give them an "in" right away but goes so far as to become engaged to them? I think Eleazar would have walked a long time ago if it weren't for Lupita. I would have. I can't stand the games she plays with El.

I think she's overcompensating because she somehow feels guilty about the kids growing up without their dads. It makes no sense, because THEY left her, not the other way around. And really, the kids are grown. I mean, seriously, Lupita is already 40.

That's got to be it, Kat. She seems somewhat financially secure and she hasn't really expressed that she's very lonely.

I think maybe part of why she has let the renewed relationships with the baby-daddies get as far as engagements/weddings, is to prove that these guys didn't just want her for a good time, but wanted also wanted to make a life with her. With Chato, it really was about vindication, since he left her at the altar pregnant. It worked out even better that the way she was vindicated was by ditching him at the altar. That whole renewed romance was about getting one over on him. With Gino it was totally different. He never knew she was preggers, had been forced into a marriage with someone else and then forced underground. With them it was an unfinished romance. I get why she was willing to take him for another test drive. But she should have never let it get as far as being engaged knowing how she feels about El.

If she gets involved with Abdul's papa I am going to be mad at her, because she should have learned her lesson by now-- whether this guy is a jerk that did her wrong like Chato, or a sweet/romantic guy who was the victim of circumstances like Gino. She should know by now that she can't turn back time. Plus it's not fair to anyone (including herself) when she's in love with someone else.

Nanette, I wish I could answer your question about EOP, but I'm not watching that one. The telemundo discussion might know. Go to the Caray homepage and scroll down. It should be there.

Carmen knows El will always be there so she can retest the water with any of her ex's and to me not very admirable. I get the kids may want a relationship with their biological father but romantically they bailed and get no second chance. I too think El should have left long ago and this is not even over yet. She knows how he feels about her and this constant come here, get away, come here has to hurt even the manliest. El is in the friendzone but with an occasional kiss or grope and batting of eye to keep him in orbit and on call. Shame on you Carmen, you are not invisible and your kids see this revolving door. No wonder Lupita has attached herself to El and thankfully she has him.

From Abdul's mumbling, it sounds like he left Carmen and he knew she was pregnant.

Sara: I've been on the page and asked. Was told sometime in August. I'm just afraid I'll forget to check that page since I'm not used to going there. Must write myself a note.

My initial prove you're not a robot numbers were blurred. Obscene numbers?
