De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero #95- Mon 6/16

De que todavía anda suelto, todavía anda suelto.

Lupita calls Cunchetina to tell her about the website for the bowling alley.  She advises Cunchetina to send Gino anonymous love emails.  Cunchetina is thrilled to have such a diabolical pint-sized ally.

Nat convinces Carmen to go to work and promises she won't go down to Caprico to quit until Carmen gets back.

Grumps spins his BS story for the lawyer, who doesn't think burying Nat is going to be easy.  The lawyer asks why Rodrigo didn't just turn Natalia in and married her, when he knew all along she was the one who was responsible for putting him in a coma.  Grumps says that's not his concern and money is no object.  The lawyer promises Rod will get off completely.

Diego, looking like utter crap, shows up at Natalia's.  He invokes instant soup and the conch shell and she knows it's him.  I suggest they establish a password.  Nat sits him down on the couch, where he struggles to keep his eyes open as he asks QTH happened to them.  He remembers the accident in the taxi after Monterrey and after that it was all drugs and voices.

Cecilia, Noemi's substitute nurse, gets the embarrassing duty of explaining to Alonso that Diego pulled a runner.  Alonso tries the house, but Lala says he's not there.  Alonso is worried Diego will run into Rodrigo and the shizz will really hit the fan.

"Why didn't you tell me you had a twin?"  Diego explains he never wanted her to think he was messing around with her, which is why he didn't tell her in Tuxpan.  He realizes not telling her when they met again in Mexico was a huge mistake.

Brigitte's landlady calls to complain that the rent hasn't been paid, but she'll be happy to collect it tonight…in person and in cash!

El is doing a great job of avoiding doing any wedding planning with Kimberly.  He curses himself for being a "cockroach" and says he has to tell her he's not marrying her.  Yeah, good luck with that one.  Kimberly vows to start the planning without him.

Diego tells Nat she was so pissed at him in Mexico, and just for standing her up on their date, that he couldn't imaging how she'd react to finding out he had a twin.  Nat tells him Rod tried to rape her and Andres showed up and fought with Rod.  Diego says he understands it all now.

Carmen gets to the fonda just in time to get Alonso's call.  He asks her, if Diego ends up at the apartment, to please keep him there until Alonso gets there.

Nat tells Diego she convinced herself he had amnesia when she saw him again.  He loses his temper and starts shouting at her for marrying Rodrigo and (he assumes) sleeping with him.

In the lawyer's office, Rod ignores a call from Brigitte.  The lawyer finishes up a call and informs Rod and Grumps that only Natalia has pressed charges against Rodrigo and her accusations aren't very solid.  They need to convince Diego not to press charges.  The lawyer thinks the best thing for Rodrigo to do would be to turn himself in, but he refuses.

Diego angrily accuses Natalia of not only having married Rodrigo and slept with him, but also of liking it.  Natalia has had enough of both him and Rodrigo treating her like some kind of toy to fight over.  She says it's clear his "love" for her was never real and he can get the hell out of her house and go complain to Rodrigo about whatever he thinks he's "owed."  She is THROUGH!  Diego swears things won't stay like this.  Carmen comes in and refuses to let Diego out of the house in that state.  "This isn't the Diego I love either.  He's just like Rodrigo.  All he cares about is whether I slept with him."  Carmen still refuses to let Diego leave and he doesn't appear to be strong enough to fight her, in any case.  Nat goes to her room and Carmen calls Alonso to tell him to come pick up his buddy.

The lawyer tells Rod he can't help him if Rod won't follow his advice.  He has to explain to lunkhead Rod that turning himself in will score him some points.  Now Rod walks out.  Grumps tells the lawyer not to take it personally and he'll talk Rod into it.

Diego doesn't want to leave with Alonso.  Alonso has to say they'll go to Bro Central instead of the clinic.  Diego insists he wants to kill Rodrigo.

Natalia is disappointed that after all the crap she's been through, all Diego cared about was the stupid competition he had going with his brother.

Rodrigo calls Brigitte to complain about her phone calls.  She tells him about the rent and he tells her to deal with it however she can and leave him alone.  Grumps comes out of the lawyer's office and tells Rod that he's the one who complicated things and he needs to consider what Fernandez (the lawyer) advised.

Carmen wonders if after everything that's happened, Diego suffered brain damage and he'll never be ok again.  Nat doesn't think *she* will ever be ok again.

Cunchetina visits El's office for something and ends up asking him to lunch.

Alonso gets Diego back to Bro Central and warns him about how bad cold turkey is going to feel.  Diego doesn't care.  He wants his life back ASAP.  Grumps calls and wants to see Diego.

Cunchetina borrowed El's office and his computer to get started on Lupita's plan.  El is shocked at his future daughter's diabolical brilliance.  And then he's, um, overheated by Cunchetina's lusty email.  Cunchetina asks El to please edit her lustmail…if the Spanish isn't perfect, Gino will suspect something.

Gino gets the email from his "secret" admirer and seems to be feeling the heat.

Grumps embraces Diego happily.  "All I want to know is if you'll help me get my brother."

Gino is still high on the email when Mara comes in, asking to borrow the computer. That's a NO.

Diego says nothing Rodrigo did has any justification or forgiveness.  "But, he's your brother."  Well, he didn't behave like a brother.  Diego won't stop until Rodrigo pays for what he did.  "Think of the family!"  Rodrigo's not his family anymore.  Diego intends to press charges, once he's feeling well enough.  Grumps says he couldn't stand the idea of losing Rodrigo while he was in a coma and he's not going to lose him now.  Diego realizes Grumps is still playing favorites.  Grumps insists he's just trying to save the family, but Diego doesn't believe it.  "Whatever you do to him, you do to me," Grumps wheedles.  Diego says he won't turn back.

Natalia shows up at Caprico, with her mommy, to quit.  CARMEN says Natalia doesn't need to talk about it--her mind is made up.  "My daughter wants…."  Irene is angry that Natalia would leave like this with no explanation and just go running away from her problems.  "It wouldn't be the first time I've had to go on the run.  But there are things you don't know."  Carmen tells Brigitte they need to let Nat talk to Irene alone.

Grumps calls Rodrigo and insists on seeing him.

Natalia tells Irene about Rodrigo trying to rape her and Andres' intervention, which led to Rod's coma.

Carmen tries to insist that Brigitte needs to quit too.  "I'm sorry about what's happening to Natalia, but that's her problem, not mine."  Brigitte tries to find out what Natalia is telling Irene, but Carmen says she doesn't know.

Irene, like everyone else who has heard this story, says Natalia isn't responsible for Rodrigo's coma.  Natalia tells her about Diego's visit and how all he cared about was finding out whether Nat had slept with Rodrigo or not.  She says Diego and Rod both have a dark side and she doesn't want to be with anyone like that.  Well, Natalia, in that case, I wouldn't not recommend becoming a cat lady.  Cats are nothing BUT dark side.  Maybe you could get a dog.  Or a goldfish.

Diego swears to Alonso that he's going to find Rodrigo and finish him!  He's done being Mr. Nice Diego.  They're twins, so if Rod can be a total asshat, so can he.

Irene thinks that Diego's reaction is due to the drugs still running around in his system and he'll regret what he said when he's back to being himself again.  She wants Natalia to take some more time to think and something, something…I tuned her out a bit.  Basically, I think it amounted to "give Diego another chance AFTER he's sober."

Grumps' face breaks it to Rod that Diego is out for blood.  And, no, he didn't tell Diego that Natalia was there when Rod was beaten.  He thinks that will be their ace in the hole.  Grumps angrily insists that Rod HAS to follow Fernandez' recommendation.

Irene tells Carmen that she reminded Natalia how much she loves her and she's convinced Natalia not to make a decision yet.  She tells Carmen she would also like Carmen not to make any decisions yet.  Also, Natalia told her what happened in Tuxpan and she wants Carmen to know that they have Irene's complete support and Rodrigo needs to pay for what he's done.  After Nat and Carmen walk off, Diego calls Irene and asks her to come to Alonso's.

Grumps wants to call the cops right now, but Rod is still hesitating.  He says he's got a better idea and tells Grumps to trust him.

Tomorrow: Rod keeps looking for a way to avoid punishment.  Grumps has Natalia arrested for the attempted murder of Rod.

I know Natalia's "supposed to" end up with Diego, but can I please lobby for there being a triplet stashed somewhere who has none of the baggage of either Rod OR Diego?

You can count on my vote

Always love your recaps, Diva and yes, the "shizz" is definitely hitting the fan right now.

"She wants Natalia to take some more time to think and something, something…I tuned her out a bit."

And this is what I really love...yes, recappers and all us viewers do tune out once in a while. Or else the actors mumble so much, or the closed captions are so screwed, that who knows what was said!

I'm watching everything without closed captions now (not by choice) and on some shows, I get about a quarter of that fast-paced slangy dialogue.

Appreciate your language skills you bi-lingual babe!...and your talent for telling a darn good story in your inimitable style.

I'll look forward to watching El and Gino light up with those emails.

5ft excellent and love "that Diego pulled a runner", "bro central"

Gino - "It's just my fantasy
Oh, who can it be now? Who can it be now?"

Nat - you married a man you believed perpetrated the sexual assault

Diego - firstist with the mostist wins

Lupita - all the brains in that tiny cranium

Brigitte - Prostitute 101, get the money up front

Grumps - all the kings horses and all the kings men won't keep Hot Rod outta the pen

El - can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man

Alonso - there is a leash law buy one

Kat- Fabulous recap. These one hour episodes just fly by don't they?

I am glad that Nat and Diego FINALLY got the whole backstory cleared up. And I'm glad that Nat put her foot down about his attitude (I've had enough of that nonsense over on Robo). But I'm going to give Diego the benefit of the doubt since he is loopy on hospital drugs, and going through withdrawal.

I think El was impressed, and then a bit scared by how diabolical Lupita is. He's going to have to watch that one. Future criminal mastermind!

Looks like C-Tina might have a crush on El. I'd prefer her over Kimberly for Carmen's competition. Carm was getting on my nerves last night with all her anti-Carceres talk, butting in, and funky attitude towards Irene.

Very glad that Diego and Irene are defying Grumps and want to throw Rod in jail.

thanks, 5ft for another excellent recap.

tofie...a succinct analysis

The actress from CI looks better without the headband and artist vibe clothing.

The temps are skating here after a week of gray and rain.

Have a good day , everyone.

Kat: Wry and wonderful.

"Cunchetina is thrilled to have such a diabolical pint-sized ally" and "El is shocked at his future daughter's diabolical brilliance" made me laugh in delighted agreement.

Best line was "Natalia shows up at Caprico, with her mommy, to quit". Excellent!

"I know Natalia's "supposed to" end up with Diego, but can I please lobby for there being a triplet stashed somewhere who has none of the baggage of either Rod OR Diego?" Yes, I'm with you!

Can't blame Diego for his anger - his brother tried to steal his life. Oh yes, and kill him in the process. I only wish he hadn't blamed Natalia. We all wish she had been a little shrewder but...she has been through hell and back herself...Vivi, yes, we have certainly had our fill of bad attitude over on Robo...

tofie, "Grumps - all the kings horses and all the kings men won't keep Hot Rod outta the pen" had me smiling and shaking my head in agreement. Too funny.

Is anyone keeping a tally of how many times Nat has quit? Call me psychic, but I predict this won't be the last time! ;)

Thanks again Kat!

Diana

Hi, 5ft,

Wonderful recap as always. I liked your portrayal of Carm - blaming Diego's whole family for all the problems. Not very deeply thought out, is it?

Tofie: Prostitute 101: get the money up front. Loved that.

I agree with Vivi that Nat needs to cut Diego some slack until he gets his mind working properly.

For me, Grumps is still the most manipulative, evil force on the field.

I love Lupita. That little actress is great.

David

Had me laughing as usual 5ft, gracias. Missed the whole thing last night but don't think there was anything major. Nat quit, AGAIN. Nat broke up with Diego, AGAIN. I agree with Carmen, stay away from Cáceres, except Irene of course.

Cunchetina , Arleth Terán was Prisella in MEPS. Loved her in that.

Priscila

I've blown Nat off as a walking talking contradiction

5FT, I've said it before and will say it again: What a talent you are!!

I love that little Lupita. Most of the child actors do not interest me, but I love this one.

Thank you to the multitalented 5Ft!!

Fatima

I've liked the little actress since Refugio, but I also think it's the way she's been written. These writers seem to have a respect for children (and teens) and their intelligence, that other writers don't seem to have. She's a sweet kid, but she's not cloying. She's intelligent, but she's not annoyingly precocious. And she's a tiny bit evil, which makes her fun.

I know we often knock them in general here on Caray Caray, but I can only count on one hand the number of times a child actor in a tn has annoyed me. The last one was Juan Osorio's son that he put in PEAM, and before that the kid who played Timo in Familia.

The kids in Abismo, La Fuerza del Destino, Refugio, Por Siempre, STUD, Pobres, Mentir (with many crossovers among them), were all wonderful. I think they're doing something right over at Televisa's kiddie acting school.

Brigitte was correct to tell Carmen she shouldn't have to quit her job because of Natalia's problems.

Brigitte also better pawn Big Al's ring to make the rent. Or go on the stroll. Or both.

Natalia is just looking for excuses to stay away from Diego. She wasn't trying to give him any slack BEFORE he showed up on her doorstep. She KNOWS he's been pumped full of drugs & kept captive but she still blames him. So maybe HER love isn't what it was thought to be as well.

Natalia looks stupid bringing her mommy to quit. Irene should tell Natalia she understands but once she walks out the door, she can never come back to Caprico. Then, after Natalia quits, Irene should FIRE Brigitte.

But if Irene fired Brigitte, Carmen would get indignant about Irene firing Brat even though she doesn't want Brat working there in the first place!

I want Cunchetina to stick around. Carmen AND Kimberly's eyes will pop once they see her!

Anon207, I too think Brigitte shouldn't quit because of Nat's issues and while no fan of Brigitte it legitimizes her complaint Nat is Carmen's favorite by a mile.

I want El to be seen with Cunchetina and I get kinda bummed when she still plots for Gino. Perhaps the time she and El spend crafting those teasing eM's will spawn something.

Variopinta, I did not recognize Arleth Terán (no excuse as I watched MEPS). Thanks for pointing that out.

Anon297 ITA that in wanting Cunchetina to hang around a bit. She will definitely shake things up!

Diana

I didn't recognize Arleth Teran either because as Cunchetina her hair is down and flowing.

Most of the time in MEPS as Priscila her hair was in that tight updo with that bang.

Always dazzling, Kat. Add my praise for "diabolical pint-sized ally."

THank you for your "I tuned her out a bit" confession. It made me feel better as a recapper. I'm real bad about tuning out story lines or characters that don't interest me (Not that Irene doesn't interest me, she does. It's the Natalia storyline that leaves me yawning.)

I was terribly disappointed in Diego last night!

Vivi--I think you've hit the nail on the head. The writers see the younger cast as just as important as the older cast. That respect shows in the stories and writing.

I am seeing a lot of good child acting lately and it gives me hope. Who is the little boy on Robo? He seems good as well. Over on La Impostora there are two kids that are really, really good.

Tofie-Prostitution 101. You've got the zestiest and quickest wit.

Anon207: Brat is not my favorite person, but I agree that she shouldn't have to quit just because Nat is.

Along with the way she described herself to Alberto (as an excuse not to marry him), I also agreed with the Brat's reasons for not quitting (although Irene should have fired her long ago). Carmen needs to stand down. How about directing that anger at Rod and kicking his a** for trying to rape her daughter, TWICE, and marrying her under a false identity. Rod needs a good punch to the face and a few good swift kicks to the butt, and it bugs me that no one has done this yet (on Nat's and Diego's behalf). He can't be that hard to find.

Hear Hear! Vivi. Why the h*ll is Carmen so against the ENTIRE family?? Rod is THE ONE reason everyone is in this mess!

I mean think about. Rod tried to commit murder (of his brother), rape, and fraud, and everyone is acting like he just racked up some parking tickets and needs to get his slap on the wrist-- while Grumps thinks he doesn't even need that. Why aren't the police by Diego's side, ready to take his statement as soon as he opens his eyes (and protect him in case Rod comes back to finish the job)? Why hasn't Nat brought even more charges against him? Why haven't the police interviewed every person in that house and at the hospital Rod was in? Why aren't they looking for Irma? Why aren't the bros and Irene having some serious pow wows about how crazy this all is and what they are going to do to make sure Rod rots in jail. It's all fine to say they think Rod should be prosecuted, and quite another to make sure it happens. Meanwhile, Grumps, the man of action, is getting the jump on them all.

Vivi, I think Grumps' "getting the jump on them all" is going to blow up right in his face when El finds out about it.

David

I hope so, David!

Was I the only one who got a vibe like C-Tina likes El?

Even if Natalia's Tuxpan rape claims against Rod are flimsy (unfortunately they are, because she never reported it and left town), Rodrigo DID marry Natalia under false pretenses (fraud) and did try to force himself on her again (rape). Diego is hospitalized pumped up with all sorts of drugs because of Rodrigo. So even if you dismiss everythign Rod did to Natalia, he's still guilty of attempted murder & kidnapping of Diego.

Sara- I definitely got that vibe. That's why I hope she gives Carmen and Kim a run for their money-- before she runs off into the sunset with Gino, who will soon fall to her feet after those love letter emails.

C-Tina is kind of becoming one of my faves. The big red necklace she had on yesterday was gorgeous. I love how larger than life she seems.

JoseAngel, are you around? Was there any editing last night?

She definitely has a personality and clothing flair that matches Gino.

5 FT: Love your sassy recaps.

So glad Nat FINALLY told Diego the rape story.

Grumps is despicable, but I really like the actor who’s playing him.

Variopinta: “Cunchetina , Arleth Terán was Prisella in MEPS. Loved her in that.”—I was just thinking about her and wondering what she was doing. I did not recognize her!!!

Agree the actor playing Lupita is awesome. I also liked the kid who played Valentina in PEAM.

Was Carmen wanting Brat to quite because she wants to protect her children from the Carceres or because she thought she should be loyal to Nat?

I'm also really liking C-Tina.

Nanette

Got the vibe C-Tina likes El and he responded to her flattery. Prefer the two of them together.

Nanette, I took a little of both as Carmen's intent but responded to it same as Brigitte. Carmen is being protective of them all (for good reason) but she is also jealous of Irene and that relationship.

Tofie: I agree a lot of what drives Carmen is her jealousy of Irene's and Nat's relationship. Wait until she finds out Irene is Nat's birth mother!

Carmen doesn't know it yet, but she better start playing nice with Irene, because her fear might come true --- if she makes it impossible for Irene to like her and be around her, when she (Irene) finds out Natalia is her daughter, she WILL take her away from Carmen. Not that Natalia would agree, of course, but she will really suffer if her two mothers don't get along!

I can't wait to see the Brat's reaction when everything comes out and she realizes that Nat could conceivably wind up with inheritances from Irene, Tadeo, and Diego! A real triple threat!

Having a busier day than usual, so please excuse my absence on the thread. I will hopefully have more time to catch up with everyone tomorrow. Thank you for the feedback and keeping the conversation going!

I'd like to see a scene after the big reveal where Irene tells Carmen, "thank you for taking such great care of OUR girl."

Anon 6:07 -
I also can't wait to see the Brat's sourpuss face when she calls Nat a"recogida" and tells her, "You're not even a real Garcia" and Nat can come back with, "In my heart I'm a Garcia, but in reality I'm a Vargas Caceres de Caceres and you are who, again?" And smile sweetly at Brigitte as she moves to stand in the loving circle composed of Carmen, Irene, Tadeo and Diego.
