Que Pobres tan Ricos #129 Happy 4th of July!! ... MA dances for joy in anticipation of his freedom... A-hole and Mini prepare the final act in their deception of Lupe
MA and Saul: MA worried about what Lupe heard/saw. Saul says don’t worry about anything right now than the trial result. Guess who is coming to declare in your favor? The Pope!... nope, Bambi’s girl. So focus… and stay up-spirits.
Frida trying to convince Lupe that Mini was just lying her 10 min abs off. Lupe says put yourself in my spot. I can forgive much except for lies.. She said much true, and things she should not know about. So The thorn is here in my chest. Maybe one day I will be able to forgive. I don’t get it, even less each day. Frida asks if she will continue going to the trial. Doubt it. With Emiliano suspended, I can’t leave him here all day. (excuses… excuses…)
Tizoc at studio coming up with a new song out of his underpit… The studio guys don’t like how he is singing it, ‘sing it as we told you’… They change the tempo to a bit new disco, and they like it more, Tizoc not so much.

I am so glad there is only a few weeks left of this, I am getting tired of A-hole’s smiles and smirks of satisfaction as he manipulates his own son and uses him to get his way… GRRRR!!!...

Judge asks Saul if there is any other document to present for the defense. No, that’s it. Another day Lupe didn’t show up. MA depressed (I bet he could care less now if the veredict is guilty, he is down for the count already).
Back at fonda, Leo predicts that MA will be declared innocent.. Frida not so optimistic. Lupe is quiet. Perla is making fun of MA. Tizoc rants at her. Chuy asks AS if she will say anything. She says DaVinci has not eaten. She is worried about him. (more so than for MA) She does tell him she understands he’s stressed.

Veredict: innocent on murder of Adolfo and attempt on A-hole. Also innocent on any relation to Bambi. Complete veredict is innocent… MA can’t help but smile. Vilma is in disbelief. MA is dancing for joy. Saul gets into it too.
Vilma calls A-hole. She says they can appeal. A-hole says no need. The law is the law. Vilma still worried about his health. She tells A-hole he is also free of any suspicion (he continues to state ‘you don’t doubt that’.) Vilma will continue to work on his divorce. HE will worry about the will clause, and for that he has to put the final nail on the wood to terminate Lupe and MA’s relationship.
At Fonda, AS tells Tizoc that she gets dizzy when she looks up. Lupe can’t go, she has to stay with Emiliano. Carm asks Chuy if he will go see Tizoc. Chuy doesn’t now. Tizoc says will also tell DA and Gwendy. Tomas’ mom comes to get Chuy. She had to come to see him, seems she is out of something (money for food?)
Back to jail, MA is dancing around, Saul as well. MA announces to all guys and visitors in room that Saul got him out of jail… Saul tells MA to sit down and chill! MA says he always doubted it, but Saul did get him out. Saul says some of the credit should go to Tomas. He has been a bit mysterious lately. Saul warns MA that the errands before he is freed could take a while still. MA can’t wait to talk to Lupe and give her the good news. Saul offers his cell. MA would rather wait to see her personally. One day more is no big deal (I would not be so sure, MA!)
Lupe is folding clothes, Emiliano comes in. Emi tells her that they are about to announce MA’s veredict. But explain it to me as a grown up, not as a kid. Lupe tells Emi to make a long story short, MA was accused of things he didn’t do. They Judge listens to all evidence and then declares him guilty or innocent. Emiliano says why don’t you better accept/agree to what my dad offered you and you become his girlfriend? Lupe says that is issues that only adults should be dealing with. Go to your room.
MA and Saul, MA is optimistic that he will just show up tomorrow and everyone will be happy go lucky. Saul asks where will MA stay now. MA can’t wait to live at La Nopalera again. When would the banks un-freeze my assets? I miss my old life. Saul says they are looking for your funds. Saul tells MA that it seems like the one that was behind all the money movements was not A-hole but Vilma. MA impactado.
Tizoc and Frida… Frida asks if he met another girl. Tizoc says no, just did not want to distract you with any of my bidness. He feeds Frida some confidence that MA will come out free. He hugs her for support.

Emi calls A-hole. A-hole won’t tell him that MA was already declared innocent. Emiliano likes talking to A-hole in secret. Feels like a cops movie. Padrisimo! (bleh!) A-hole is really sickened to have to deal with the esquincle. (and we are of his satisfied smirk then his disgust face).
Chuy wants Carm to go out to walk with him tonight (in their date). Carm says we have to go see Tizoc. Chuy says he will pick her up at Gwendy’s, then they will see Tizoc work and then they will take that ‘chatty walk’ they have been planning.
Perla is taking some weight loss pills she has hidden. With soda??!!? She almost chokes on it. Gwendy comes in and starts tapping Perla hard. Gwendy asks Perla if she has got any more work. Perla says not yet. They also talk about going to see Tizoc work. Gwendy tells Perla that her magazine cover is great.
Mini and Isela at office. Isela nags that Mini and her came to work on Saturday. Mini says my salary is not much but it is enough to buy our chuchulucos. Saul comes in. Mini had summoned him to come. Mini asks Saul if MA was declared innocent. Saul lies and says veredict is not out yet. Mini fires him. You are no good as a lawyer. Saul is totally confused (that confused signature face of Agustin Arana).
Gwendy still breathing on Nepo’s neck. She is trying to get him to go with her to Tizoc’s presentation.
MA in his cell talking to the saint card… MA is praying his thanks to St Jude for getting him declared innocent. The cell mate comes and is also happy for MA. The other cellmate brings another card ‘la guadalupana’. MA prays to Virgin of Guadalupe to give him an hand with her ‘tocaya’(Lupe). Not sure what she heard from Minerva that hurt her, MA is worried Lupe won’t want to forgive him that easily. The 3 some pray together. The one guy takes the card back ‘it was a loan, no mas’.
Mini comes to A-hole’s office, she wants him to explain the next part of his plan. A-hole tells her MA was declared innocent. A-hole is not understanding why his family nor the Menchacas know that either. Mini says Saul lied to her. A-hole is sure MA will run to Lupe’s arms. A-hole warns Mini that MA will kick her to the curb. Pay attention. Here is the 2nd part of the plan. (Mini still jumping silly about MA being free soon).
Frida again tries to be supportive of Emiliano. Emiliano tells her he hit Samuel because he would not let anyone mock him. Frida tells him that she is also bullied at school. Emiliano asks her what she does. She says, the truth, nothing. She also feels like defending herself. But she has realized the more she ignores them and ignores their statements, the less frequently they bother her. Emiliano notes that ever since Abuelita Mati is gone, he doesn’t have her to talk to. He really misses her. Frida again offers to be his buddy.
A-hole says his plan cannot fail, it is worthy of a Napoleonic mind like his. He can’t give her all the details but all A-hole can do is tell Mini the exact hour when MA will be let out of the jail. Mini says ok I will take it from there, but you have to sign our divorce. Isela comes in with their new lawyer. She wants A-hole to arrange it with the new lawyer to give them everything they asked for.
Vilma arrives home. Top Cop and his buddy are there to do a full search of her apartment. She is impactada. A-hole signs off the properties to Mini and Isela. Isela and the lawyer leave to ‘accelerate the pigsty transactions/errands that they have to do’.
Mini still in la-la land. A-hole shakes a giant sized bottle of antacid…
Vilma doesn’t understand anything. Top Cop says we have to figure out if you are implicated in the fraud against Corp RP. She says she is respectful of the law so go ahead and come in. Top Cop will go to her bedroom. Vilma hides the framed picture of A-hole. (make that multiple framed pictures of A-hole)
At the Fonda, Lupe is cleaning up. She is totally out of it… Carm comes in and guesses that Lupe is thinking over and over again on what Mini said at the trial. Lupe has very droopy eyes. Carm keeps trying to remind her that she has been able to overcome all obstacles life has thrown at her. Carm says ‘tree that won’t bend ends up cracking, but you are no oak tree’. You have to give yourself a break. Give yourself a bit of time, later on you will be able to see things more clearly. In the issue of MA, don’t make any drastic move, until he is set free and you can face him directly with the issue. ‘
Top Cop is checking Vilma’s bedroom. After a while, he finds… THE GUN…and takes it as evidence. He comes downstairs and asks Vilma about it. She claims it is hers. He will take it away. Vilma says you have no right!... Top Cop will take it, will find out ‘what this gun has been used for’. Vilma stays worried.
Previews: Monday: the truth is stronger than A-hole’s evilness. Only a few hours before MA is set free.
Hours A-hole will use to put in place his plan. (A-hole tells Mini he knows what time MA will be set free).

It's certainly a relief to see MA declared innocent. Still lots of problems to be solved, including Emi having way too much fun on the dark side with Ahole. We need to rescue Mati and let her set him straight.
I hope Tizoc (T or Ty?) has enough feeling for his original talent to recognize the fakery of his new style. Maybe he'll choke up at the showcase.

I found it real annoying that goofy MA has to "surprise" Lupita and his family with the innocent verdict that he finds out on a Friday and won't tell them until Monday. Now he knows they are all worried about him but he is going to let them worry some more so he can surprise them. Also, would not the verdict make the press because the trial did? The writers have made MA into a selfish jerk. They could have done better.

Emiliano finding it surprising that Frida, an adult in his eyes, has a problem with being bullied. I liked the fact that they opened up the topic that not just kids are bullied but it is also an adult problem, too.

I am tired of Mini and her squeaking! I really hope she gets the time wrong, when MA is to be released from the jail. I hope Lupe finds out first and beats her to it. One can hope ; )
I am so happy MA was found innocent, but he's really dumb for not letting his own family and the Menchaca know. I too feel that the verdict will be on the news, as Jarfa said and that's how the familias will find out. I know MA wants to surprise Lupe, but he forgot about the press. I wonder how long it will take before they find his familia's money, in the mess that Vilma transferred here and there?
At least they mentioned Dona Mati, both MA, Emi and Frida. I think Frida mentioned to Emi she wanted to go visit Don Mati, in that "geriatric" place and did he wanna go with? I really think if Dona Mati were there, she'd steer Emi in the right direction, away from Ahole.
I wonder if this will be Vilma's wake up call finally? I had to laugh at her hiding those pics of Ahole, but when Agente Chavez came out of her room with that gun, she had the deer in the headlights look! Why in the world did she say that gun was hers? I thought she was smarter than that. I guess she thinks Ahole will help her. I hope she remembers him talking about a scapegoat!

At least they mentioned Dona Mati, both MA, Emi and Frida. I think Frida mentioned to Emi she wanted to go visit Don Mati, in that "geriatric" place and did he wanna go with? I really think if Dona Mati were there, she'd steer Emi in the right direction, away from Ahole.
I wonder if this will be Vilma's wake up call finally? I had to laugh at her hiding those pics of Ahole, but when Agente Chavez came out of her room with that gun, she had the deer in the headlights look! Why in the world did she say that gun was hers? I thought she was smarter than that. I guess she thinks Ahole will help her. I hope she remembers him talking about a scapegoat!

Thanks Marta, I'm so glad that MA was found not guilty. I was surprised though.
You left out the very quick scene where Don Chuy visited Tomas's mother and she said that she's worried she's going to run out of medicine. So that tells me that Mati is there and she's taking care of her. She's the secret.
So now how long will we have to wait until Lupita learns that MA wrote her a letter that she never got?

Keeping the verdict secret is a boneheaded move on MA's part. But then if characters were to act logically, there would be little dramatic fiction.

Since Emi was saying how much he misses talking to Mati, I hope Mati informs him that his beloved father dropped her off in the middle of town to fend for herself.
I can't remember back very well. Did Alejo borrow or find the gun without Vilma knowing and use it to kill Adolfo? Will Vilma squeal like a pig when she's accused of the murder and the fraud? Or will she take one, I mean two, for the team?

That was always Ahole's gun. It's the same one he accidently shot his family jewels with! When Adolfo was shot, MA had left that gun he got from Nepo. Ahole used his own gun to kill Adolfo, and for good measure used that gun MA left just to frame MA for the murder. He wasn't counting on Top Cop to do the ballistics. Ahole thinks the cops are stupid, he does think he is Napoleon after all ; ) So now poor Vilma is up the creek, so to speak.

I remember that Vilma took the gun away from Alejo after he accidentally shot himself in the private parts. Then she gave the gun back to him before he shot Giron (which she didn't know he had done). Then he wiped his fingerprints off of it and handed it to her to put away somewhere in her house - and I think he watched her pick it up so he knows that her prints are on it. I don't remember whose gun it was in the first place - maybe it was Vilma's?

I caught last night's episode and a lot of it went over my head. Thanks for the recap that cleared up things for me, Marta.
We had the same thoughts about Perla and the diet pills. When she reached for that soda I though, "really? With soda?"
I also was left scratching my head when MA said he wanted to surprise Lupe and not tell anyone he was free.
I hate that it seems like Vilma will be taking the fall for Alejo.
I hope "Thomas" does turn out to be Mati.

very good point about A-hole's plan to avenge Emiliano to his school buddies... I wonder what violence he is planning, which should help open Emiliano's eyes. I am afraid by the time MA sees Emiliano again Emi will have become very pre-disposed against MA. Since he wants his parents to get married so badly. It will take some time for that path to set itself straight. Especially if the previews we have seen for this week are real and not a dream. It will be a tough road for MA to climb back into the hearts of the Menchacas and Lupe... and yes, this is a telenovela so she will think the worst, and eventually she will have to appologize to MA for not having believed hard enough.

how many episodes did we say this was? 160 total? there are three new novelas coming up... not sure i like any except Mi cor es tuyo. La Malquerida has Vic Ruffo's broken faucet, even Chris Meier cannot fix that... the one with Marjorie DeSousa might be good, not sure.
Marta, Mil gracias for another sparkling clear, amusing recap. So besides being sick of the broken record repetitions of MA's blithe spirit thinking no one could possibly do more harm, Minnie Mouse shrieking with feigned sexuality, A-Holé with his smirk, snarl, smirk smirk, I want someone to find Mati, I want someone to catch poor misguided and beguiled Emiliano with his illicit cell phone and I want Guadalupe to stand up to Minnie and A-holé amd see through the trickery.
Maybe there is hope that A-Holé will make a collossal fool of himself in front of Emiliano's school friends so the light will start to shine through. Guadalupe always teaches him such kindness and thoughtfulness with others that the differences have to dawn on even this naive boy.
Funny AS is channeling her concerns for her children through the dogette being so nervous. The cooking scenes and seeing her function so well at times whisper redemption?? Maybe...
I agree Tizoc needs to find his trues style but the relationship with A-Holé's backing is going to collapse sooner or later so maybe he will have to start at the beginning again in a more authentic way. Frida is taking on some soul and depth too. I like her maturing and being a support and resource for Emiliano.

let me just say according to previews it will get MUCH MUCH worse before it gets better... so get ready for a real down slope before things start lining up for the end.
