Que Pobres tan Ricos Tuesday July 15: Tizoc and Emiliano are insufferable.

  • Carmela told Mike she'd try to talk Lupita around, and she's good to her word...

... but first Lupita has to faint, then tell everybody she's fine and she'll get checked out later. Chuy is worried. Perla says thoughtfully, "and she isn't even taking anything... uh, vitamins I mean" ...
... after Lupita recovers from her faint and (instead of resting) is ironing Emiliano's trousers, Carm comes and says she believes Mike's story because "he doesn't have he eyes of a liar." Lupe reminds her he was caught in flagrante, naked in bed with the blond, clothes strewn everywhere. Carm thinks he could have actually been drugged. "How could they have gotten him into bed?" "Minerva and Alejo are capable of anything. They want the same thing: she wants MA for herself and Alejo wants to marry you. Don't be so innocent. At least talk to him. What have you got to lose?"

  • Saul visits Wilma in jail and offers to be her lawyer. "What would I have to do in exchange?" "Tell the truth." She says it's a trick and "I can defend myself better than you can do it. Or I'll get a lawyer of my own stature."

  • Tizoc, now Tay, is intoxicated by his new super-star possibilities to the point of becoming cretinous. He tells "Charlie" and company: I want to dress great, like a hipster. They want him to be more "fashion, New York."

A guy comes in with a contract and Tizoc signs without looking at it when the guy says "In Charlie's hands you'll make millions!" Smirks.

Charlie calls Alejo to say the deal is done. "You're a prince, Charlie." "Thanks Dad." ?? Is Charlie really Alejo's son?

Tizoc crows to Frida about his millions. "What did the contract say?" she astutely asks. "Uh, ... legal stuff." "You didn't read it??!!!" "Charlie is fair! We'll buy a huge house." Frida is disgusted, she can't believe he was such an idiot.

Cheering up, she says: "My schoolmates liked your song. But I don't like your new image." "I'll be able to be myself again later. In the mean time, I'll be able to have anything I want." "Is stuff all that matters to you?" Frida gets faint. Tizoc tells her "You're the only girl I want to be with."

  • Mike visits Nepo. Trofeo is very friendly, Nepo not so much. "I hear you're still poor, I hope you're not here asking for work again." "No, I want to pay you back for when you paid for my grandmother's doctor appointment. And I want to thank you."

Nepo returns the money to Mike. "Sorry I called you a delinquent and sicced the police on you." "You're forgiven." "I want to share with you the money we've been making on the juice." "No, instead let's be associates again." Why not? Nepo agrees. "We won't be friends, though."

  • Emi calls his dad, who reminds him "I'll marry your mom soon." "At my party there will be treats for everybody, right? Chido!" "Don't be a vulgar naco, don't say chido. OK, behave well." After hanging up Emiliano muses: "I told him to behave well, he should actually do the opposite."

  • Continuing the previous discussion, Mike tells Saul he wants to help his family a little, he won't lie to them for long, he just wants them to learn what really matters. Saul worries: when they find out you were lying they will be mad.

  • Mike calls a family conference and suggests they all go into the juice business together. "So we will fall even lower?" gripes Ana Sofia. Mike suggests Frida could study and also work. "I don't have to do that, I'm not a single mother!" (yet) Mike is offended and she apologizes to the sky, to all the single mothers of the world. Leo says he is an artist, and besides, he can't work for that homophobic Nepo. "You won't be working for him, you'll be working for me." Mike presses harder: "The best things in life are gotten with - " "Money?" guesses Leo. "No! Hard work!"

  • Carela and Chuy visit Doni Mati, now in red satin PJs in bed at Tomas's house and looking happy. She doesn't want her family to know she's here until she's fully recuperated.. She beams at Chuy and Carm: "I'm glad to see the two of you together, you make a nice pair." But Carm is cross with Chuy for some reason.

  • Leo and Frida get enthusiastic about the juice plan. Mike implores: "Mom, join us!" "I have enough to do with my charity works. And by the way, can't you get us back our immense fortune?" He says it's gone, he uses his Italian accent to convince her. She says her kids are getting even more Menchacified.

When Mike leaves "To see my great people of the Nopalera," Ana scolds the others: "Leo, I wanted you to be an international artist and you, Frida, to be at least well married. Now you'll be ordinary juice makers." Leo and Frida feel excited about making back some of their lost fortune. Maybe there will be a chain of RuizPalacios juice stands!

  • Diego calls and Leo wants to go out and see him but Ana suddenly announces she's desperate for something to drink and needs him. Leo caves and hangs up on Diego

  • Leo is imagining upgrading the juice stands with Broadway typography when Nepo stumps in. He's annoyed to see Leo and calls him 'princeso.' "Mike, you and I coming to terms is one thing but HE is another." "He didn't cause anything. He's with me." Frida talks about gay liberation which doesn't help. Leo: "I am the victim of machismo." Nepo: "I lost my son." "King of Bananas [all bow and curtsy] your son is great, you're the one with a problem. Respect him, help him, don't turn your back on him." Leo leaves having gotten this fine last word.

  • Mike goes to try and talk Nepo around and also discuss expanding the juice biz. (Trofeo wants to utilize aphrodisiac fruit.) Nepo admits Mike has "vision" and likes his ideas - maybe there will even be a factory! - but grumbles about Leo. "You need to learn to separate personal matters from business matters," Mike points out, "and Leo is not the only princeso, Diego is one too."

  • Saul sidles into Wendy's parlor and they flirt and make suggestive remarks. Saul invites her on a date.

  • Alejo has had his garden decorated with balloons etc. for Emiliano's birthday party. Minerva mocks the nacqueria he has created and asks what it's doing in her garden. "Tarantula, until I sign, the house is mine." "Ugh, you and your serpent bastard." "You're talking about my future heir."

Lupe and Emiliano arrive and Emi throws himself into Alejo's arms. Alejo takes him off to get dressed in his new "special clothes." And here comes Emi dressed in a biz suit just like his dad, with a tie even! Lupita is disgusted: "He's a child." "He's almost an adolescent."

Emi's friends from the old neighborhood arrive and are impressed with everything. Emi boasts his suit is from the United States, that's where the best clothes are. Some other kids show up, Emi explains condescendingly to the old friends, "These are the kids of very important people my father knows."

The new kids show off their tablets and smartphones and start playing a game. "You poor kids don't have them, so you can't play with us." Emi tells his old friends they are losers. "My dad will move me to a better school. So you guys, clear out!" All leave. Emi wants one of them, his best friend, to stay, but he doesn't.

  • Saul comes to the cave of Sumatra looking for Mike but finds Ana Sofia. She corrals him and begs him to say it will be possible to get their money back, she doesn't want to live in this smelly pigsty any more. Saul quotes obscure invented laws to her and escapes.

He tells Mike he's worried: "Your mom could investigate and find out." "She won't lift a finger." "When it's about money she could do anything." Mike says all will be well. That's how we know it won't.

  • Emiliano is a little taken aback that his one actual friend is leaving: "I wanted the others to go, not you." But it's one for all.

Alejo asks if Emi enjoys "the taste of vengeance." "But my best friend left, too." Alejo: "Learn that he who has more money has more power and is at the top. They treated you badly before, now that you have more stuff, they treat you better, and that's life."

"Why did your friends leave so soon?" asks Lupe. Alejo says those guys were groseros who'd mocked and bullied Emi. "Why didn't you tell me, Emiliano?" "He didn't want to worry you. Anyway, starting Monday I'm putting him in a new school that isn't full of bad smelling people." Lupe says they're leaving. Alejo consoles Emiliano: "When we live together we'll never have to say goodbye."

  • Minerva confronts Lupe and baits her (doesn't she remember how that ended last time?). Lupe says, "I wish you all the best with Mike, anyway he's poor and isn't going to get his money back." Minerva (and then her mother): dumbfounded. The idea of her beloved Mike staying poor makes Minerva bust a lot of balloons.

  • Tizoc visits Frida when she's working at the juice store. "When I have my millions," he boasts, "you won't have to work." She cheerfully and proudly says: "I want to be independent, I want to learn about proletarian life." She asks if he'll take her to school. He says no, he would be overwhelmed and suffocated by his enthusiastic fans.

  • Nepo shops for jewelry but when the vendor guesses it would be for Wendy, he leaves without buying anything.

  • Revolted by the scene at Alejo's, Lupe hauls Emi home where the Menchacas are astounded by his outfit. "He looks like a candy prince." "You're dolled up like a little licenciado," exclaims Chuy, equating it with his own former glorious outfits. Emi says: "I no longer want to be a luchador. It's work for poor people. I am no loser." They all stare at him.
Tomorrow: Lupe tells Mike he's the most awful liar she's ever known. Alejo tells Lupita to marry him or "things will be worse for your family than you can possibly imagine."

Thanks, Jane (Blog Mom) for creating another succinct yet complete account.

I'm a little puzzled by the sudden demotion of Emi's classmates to poor guys. Maybe they weren't uber wealthy, but they always had the latest expensive shoes, nice homes, etc. Also, the school was private and expensive (at least by Menchaca standards.)

And I'm really angry at Emi's scorn for his abuelo's luchador background and him calling his grandpa a loser.

I also despise Ana Sofi's blatant manipulation of Leo, blackmailing him with a relapse anytime he thinks of going out with Diego.

Oh, the lessons still to be learned and the battles still to be fought. As others mentioned, I'd like to see what's going on with Macarena, but not sure we'll be granted that wish.

When Charlie said, "Gracias, Papa" to Alejo it was just an expression, such as the old-time "daddy-o" - just slang, not meaning that Alejo is his father.

Thank you, Jane!

I think Leo should countermanipulate AS and threaten extra schmoopy takeout sessions with Diego right in front of her if she ever takes a drink.

Emil is turning into a right little sociopath. Just like Daddy. He even had his tie knotted like Ahole's. All his dorky new friends, sitting around ignoring all the fun stuff to play on their tablets? What a bunch of dweebs. Run away, Paco. You deserve a better friend than Emi.

Loved Guendy and Saul flirting. I knew they had a little something! They were like tigers pacing around eyeing each other up, about to pounce.

Small vocab note (either and new word for me): Minerva didn't call Emil a serpent. She said "esperpéntico" - grotesque.

Jane, thanks for your wonderful recap! This was one busy episode.

Since Tizoc never read the contract he signed, it really makes you wonder what is in it that will turn around and bite him in the future.

I liked MA wanting to pay Nepo back for doña Mati's medical bills and Nepo telling him not to bother and then Nepo wanting to give MA his cut from the juice business and MA telling him not to bother but to just expand the juice business as partners.

My favorite part was MA convincing Frida and Leonardo to work for him in now what has become the family juice business. Leonardo sticking up for Diego and telling Nepo off was a close second.

AS is like a bloodhound on the trail of the family fiortune.

I did not like seeing Frida getting faint after being nauseous in the last episode. Nor did I like Emiliano being the perfect brat at the end of the episode.

Jarifa

Oh man. So much going on in the Pobres universe right now. Thanks, Jane!

I only saw the last few minutes, and had to laugh at the sight of Emi in that old man suit. And then at the shocked faces of the Menchaca as Emi spewed his Alejo-like thoughts. Wow! Looking forward to seeing what they all eventually say.

i agree the episode was packed full of action... not exactly the action / interaction we would like to see... like La Paloma said,
Oh, the lessons still to be learned and the battles still to be fought

i agree that Charlie is not Alejo's son, otherwise Alejo would have targetted him before he even found out about Emiliano.

I don't think Nepo deserves Gwendy, but i was real glad that Leo was able to tell him a few 'truths' about the double standard of Nepo's... both DA and Leo are in the relationship...
but i hated that Leo gave in to AS's pressure... she started her script when she realized he was talking to DA on phone arranging a meeting.
Frida, until Tizoc 'grows up' stay away from him. That contract Tizoc signed... i can see it already, it probably was signing on to owing the 'manager' a whole lot of money, maybe even having to pay for his 'presentation' and all the expenses they ran on him, probably demanding the pay within 48 hrs... or ELSE!! tizoc would go straight to jail.
now they just have to hook Perla (hopefully Tomas continues to accompany her to 'meetings') and the whole family will be on Alejo's 'demands' list to Lupe.

Thanks for the vocab correction, Julia, what a great word.

Emiliano was fascinatingly horrible. He WAS esperpentico!

AA would NEVER work for somebody with Ana Sofia's attitude.

So, so many musicians have ruined their lives signing contracts without reading them. Perhaps this will turn out to be another PSA.

Add Vilma to the insufferable list. Despite imprisonment, she is her usual condescending self.

Rob

Jane, just one tiny thing...
when you said...
After hanging up Emiliano muses
did you mean Alejo?

Thank you Jane for a wonderful recap. I always look forward to seeing your accounts. Easier for me to read an follow the story line. Thank you again.

Yes, Marta Ivett, right you are.

Thank you, Jane. I like how the fun is finally creeping back in to dilute some of the nasty stuff.

I laughed at Ahole's unexpected paternal outburst when he told Emi to be good. His "revenge" plan was brilliant - it even offended Emi's best friend. Genius. I expected Emi to be a little more thoughtful afterwards, so I made the same face as the rest of the Menchacas when he dissed his grandfather!

I also laughed when Frida made the single mother comment. I can tell that we're supposed to think she's pg, but doesn't the (admittedly uncommon) fainting part of the pregnancy typically not begin until you're already "late"? So if Frida is pg and fainting she should already be a worried that her "friend" hasn't been around lately and therefore she would never have made that single mother comment. (I know, I put too much thought into this, but I really don't want this to happen.)

Julia, I like your plan for Leo to blackmail his mother with Diego. It's high time someone manipulated her for a change. But I guess we should be grateful that Leo doesn't think that way. And I'm sure Diego wouldn't approve!

In reply to Salvador's comment last night: Oh yes we HAVE seen Perla Ivette abuse pills! The first time we saw her take them, she read the label aloud to us and then took two or three times the recommended dose.

When Tizoc caught her with the pills he threw them out, but she already had a whole other bottle stashed away.

And there is also a supporting story behind this: she thinks she's fat. She's worried about it before; I think the first time it came up was when Diego rejected her that night at the club.

Last week when she downed a handful of diet pills at Guendy's salon, it was after she had pinched what she felt was a large amount of fat on her waist.

I agree it hasn't been a big subplot, but we've been given little hints and clues along the way that she's worried about her weight and is dealing with it in a secretive fashion without medical supervision.

I think we are supposed to be shocked when the bad thing finally happens, so don't forget to act surprised!

Thanks Jane, I wonder if Vilma is finally realizing that she is being used.

I'll bet that whatever Tizoc signed, it will be something that will make Lupita more likely to marry Alejo in order to fix it.
I was so hoping that Lupita would find that burnt half of the letter in the trash while she was there. Now she's going to have to rely on trust to be able to reunite with MA.

The RP's and Nepo sure are taking their good old time in learning their life lessons. I hope it doesn't just suddenly happen in the last couple of episodes. How will we know it will stick?

I thought I saw a flash of wistfulness on Vilma's face when Saul was talking to her last night. As if she might be having second thoughts.

Cathyx, "how will we know it will stick" is a question that occurs to me at the end of almost every TN. These characters go back and forth so many times over the duration of the story that it's hard to believe that this new period of apparent stability isn't temporary too. Just because the bad guys are dead or in jail doesn't mean that nothing bad will ever happen to them again. The world will never run out of jerks!

I don't like the way Avances Voiceover Guy dramatically intones over images of Lupita unconscious that she will have a "battle for her life!!!" Sure, he does tend a bit toward the misleadingly melodramatic, but that suggests maybe something worse than pregnancy. What if she has cancer or something? She might freak out about paying medical bills and taking care of her family, especially after what happened to her mother, and decide to marry Alejo out of desperation to not die for lack of medicine and leave her son motherless. Sure, MA would undoubtedly confess that he really has money and use it to help her, but she might be unwilling to listen to him until it is too late.

The terms of Tizoc's contract are mos def going to be unfavorable to him. I did not like the smirks on those dudes' faces. I can't believe he was stupid enough to sign it without reading it.

He really should have let Frida continue to be his manager. She'd be worth many times the 10% or 15% cut she took. Tomas probably could have gotten him a way better deal or at least steered him away from a terrible one. I wonder if the modeling guy Perla met with had planned to offer her a similarly horrible contract, but then backed out of it when she showed up with Tomas and said he had no gigs for her (other than the tire company calender which Tom wisely dismissed).

Wow Emiliano out did himself in the brat stakes last night. Those rotten RP genes he inherited from Ahole have turned him into an unlikable little snot. I also remember that his original friends were better off and had the latest shoes and nice homes so why all of a sudden do they show up looking like pobres and being insulted by the brat clones. Emi truly deserves to be friendless and ignore by his old friends. Does Lupe know of Ahole's plans to send his brat spawn to a better school?

Tizoc is a complete twit, signing a legal document without reading it. It probably takes all rights to his music, his name and anything associated with any future success away from him. A lot of artists have found themselves with no rights to their own creative efforts. Then again he is such a tool he probably deserves it.

The Saul Gwendy flirt tango was fun to watch and I love his dimples.

I think they're setting things up so we have a pregnancy mystery. One takes a pregnancy test, gets found, we wonder which is pregnant. Obviously we know Perla isn't. My money is on Frida, because I hate to think that Lupe is going to be a single mother yet again.

Thank you for the recap Jane.

When I saw the kids playing with their ipads instead of enjoying the rest of the party, I remembered that my brother would have been the same. He didn't have an Ipad, he still doesn't have one, but he had that gameboy or nintendo ds or whatever the name it had when he was a kid and he only liked playing with that. I always knew he was evil.

I have to commend the kid playing Emiliano though, he is doing a wonderful job at playing an obnoxious kid falling into the dark side.

La Paloma:

It seems that in telenovelas the middle class doesn't exist. You are either rich or poor. And if you become über rich then those who don't live in mansions are poor. I remember how in Amores Verdaderos Nicky used to think Francisco was poor, even though he had enough money to travel, buy good clothes and later live a while without a job.

Jarocha, you're funny (the story about your brother).

Decie, Ahole TOLD Lupe of his plans to send Emi to a snootier school, but I think she was too overwhelmed by all the horror around her to rip Ahole's head off.

And yeah I did think it odd that Emi's school friends showed up in crummy t-shirts, but it is possible that they dressed down because they felt badly for teasing him about his own shabby clothes before and weren't sure he wouldn't be wearing hand-me-downs to his own party. Or maybe it's just because it was an outdoor party and they were expecting to play outdoor type stuff.

Emi's suit was ridiculous - too big for him. And the knot on his tie was almost as big as his head!

But this reminds me of something I meant to mention yesterday - two recent things that struck me as out of place or over-emphasized: Emi's torn sneakers, and Lupe telling Emi that if he didn't like what they were eating he could go without.

Both of these made more sense to me when Tom told Lupe the other night that Ahole could maybe get custody of Emi if he could prove abuse or neglect. To a judge, it might sound bad that she sent him to school in torn sneakers, even though that was partly because little Prince Emi didn't want her to buy generic no-name equis replacements.

It would sound even worse to a judge that she threatened to withhold food, even though that's not quite what happened.

I don't think there's anything else they can accuse her of, except maybe all this stuff Ahole's been saying lately about her alleged mood swings/bad temper.

And we don't know yet how Lupe will react to the snotty things Emi said about poor people/losers. Maybe she will take away his precious ordered-from-USA suit. That could sound ugly to a judge, too.

Jarocha, too funny about knowing your brother was evil :). I have a nephew who is the same way; he always wants to be glued to an electronic game of some sort. At least he doesn't hang around in a suit and tie with his hair slicked in a side part, sneering at the other kids, while he does it!

I've also notice about the rich and poor divide in telenovelas that fortunes usually change very suddenly. A person can start out poor, but then if things go their way and they get a great job or whatever they are almost instantly way better off, with new clothes, car, and home. They never seem to have to work for awhile and save up for anything.

I am also always amazed at how telenovela characters so easily walk away from everything. They decide to make a life change, and they walk away with just a little carry-on suitcase and never look back. Or they could have come to visit from another city or country, and then get caught up in the turmoil and end up staying, and they never say, "wait. I have a home and a car and all my personal effects, my files, my sentimental things that were gifts from loved ones, my underwear drawer, all hanging out in this other place. Maybe I should go back and pack them up or arrange for someone to ship them to me and sell the big stuff." Nope. Out of sight, out of mind. They travel so lightly through life! No accumulation of stuff!

Julie, you could very well be right that Lupita's reasonable parenting will be warped and turned against her.

A smart, reasonable judge wouldn't consider "eat the nutritious meal I made, or don't eat" or wearing ratty sneakers to be child abuse, but I have no confidence that a judge will be reasonable if Ahole is pulling the strings. So it's likely even evidence like a doctor saying no way is this kid malnourished, or the school teachers confirming that Emiliano has never come to school without stuff like workable shoes, would get Lupita nowhere. And I imagine Ahole would have no trouble getting those idiots at the school to back him up and testify (lie) that they've seen signs of neglect. He's never had any trouble getting them to do wrong things before.

Emi's party had a bouncy house and it was outside. I don't know why anyone would show up to a party like that in anything but casual wear. The suit and tie were ridiculous for a child's birthday party.

Seriously. It just made it look like Emiliano (or his dad) had no sense of appropriate dress. It would have been one thing for some of the guests to show up overdressed. But the hosts know what the party activities are! (and should communicate the level of formality to their guests, but someone could miss the message or just not heed it.) For for the people who are hosting a party full of bounce houses and trampolines and some sort of soccer game and popcorn and such, outdoors, to show up to their own event in suits, just makes them look off their rockers. And I have no idea how Ahole got those other kids to come in sport coats and such...surely they have a sense of rich people casual dress. Maybe they'd turn up in the most expensive sneakers and jeans and the hottest brand of shirt, but not suits.

Alejo is such an Alejo that it would seem unlikely that he would have any friends (with the right-age kids, no less) who would let their children come to his house! Maybe he rented the mini-snobs?

I would not doubt that A=hole bought the IPads and the outfits for those other kids as well... and yes, at a party where there is a moonbounce and some outdoor activities, it is COO_COO to show up in a suit, especially if you are the host kid...
that tie, Julie, looked to me that it had some Macrame stitch on it... it was braided several times around... like the old pot holders that used to be made of twisted braided strips of cloth.

Anon, we were thinking alike... yes he could even had paid these kids to act this way and even fed them what to do like treat the other 'old' friends like crap.

THIS was his big revenge for those kids? Pshhh! I would have liked to see what Minerva could have come up with. Alejo should have hired her to do this in exchange for, say, another round of "chopping" at the designer of her (or her mama's) choice. I bet she would have made it more entertaining to watch.

Alejo doesn't seem to have any friends right now either. And if you include Vilma, she's more his servant than anything.

Julia, what the avances guy had to say about Lupita in a "fight for her life" perked my ears up. In my relatively short time of watching telenovelas, I have learned that no announcement is without some sort of meaning everything is so closely choreographed so to speak. What I have been grateful for so far in this novela is that we have spent relatively little time at the hospital. I absolutely hate any hospital/medical plots/scenes. That is probably why LFMB will always be my favorite "comedy". There were only two short hospital interludes with not just secondary but really tertiary characters. I just hope nothing worse than a possible pregnancy awaits Lupita.

Jarifa

I don't want a lot of hospital drama, either! I am tired of it. We get too much of that on other shows (and too often in real life). How about a nice kidnapping/love shack scenario instead? (as long as it isn't Ahole or Nepo or Minerva doing the kidnapping...a couple who SHOULD be together!) Also a cliche, but at least usually more fun. Or how about some disguises/secret identities? Come on, MA, you know you want to pretend to be a luchador again. MA and Saul as luchadores. That's my vote.

I would like MA to kidnap Lupita, take her to a loveshack and convince her that he's innocent before he lets her go.

Marta, that tie knot appears to be an Eldredge knot.

A while back, near the start of this TN, someone noticed that Ahole was using a Trinity knot (shown on the same page).

He's much too special to be seen wearing a standard four-in-hand knot!

Julia, you are so right about too much medical/hospital drama in real life. That is what did me in years ago and why I prefer the comedies to the dramas. I like your luchadores idea.

Jarifa

With all these women fainting and getting dizzy I dread the TN cliche of Leukemia let alone pregnancy. Such overused cliches just to give us the always incorrect hospital drama. Let's keep our fingers crossed on this one.

I was thinking about that bouncy castle and then remembered someone saying that this was supposed to be Emi's 11th birthday. A bouncy castle would seem awful babyish for a kid that age. Then again Ahole wouldn't know about things like that. Considering how unsafe those things are Lupe could always accuse him of putting children in danger if he went after her for neglecting his son.

I'd love to blame Ahole, and he is ultimately to blame for everything, but I wouldn't pin the age-appropriateness of the bouncy castle directly on him. I don't think he did any of the planning himself, other than recruiting the smarmy d-bag kids.

He put that poor admin assistant in charge of planning "a party with all the awesome stuff kids like" and then abruptly dismissed her. I think she hadn't even known he had a son, much less any details about him. I'm sure she was terrified to ask him any questions, so she probably had to glean whatever information she could from the other employees. Hence the variety of stuff: the trampoline, the bouncy castle, the soccer thing, balloons. She set her party blast to a wide spray. And really, those kids could have had a great time if Ahole hadn't deliberately ruined it.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Pfft, that party was lame. Remember Valentina's party in PEAM? If not for the crazy bitch mom, and her father's arrest, it was spectacular! Celebrity performances and everything! (I might be remembering two or three different parties all at once, though.) I was expecting something similar from Ahole.

I'm surprised Ahole didn't throw the party at the latest hottest most pretentious nightclub and get the kids to sit around drinking mocktails and going for helicopter rides from the roof (but only for the kids who came dressed in custom helicopter outfits).

Now, THAT'S a party.
(Entertainment by Tay, of course!)

Julie: I agree. It seem in telenovelas people with money can't do anything without it and people without money don't need to work hard to earn it if their fate is for them to become rich.

The bouncy castle is very common in kids parties, I've even seen adults start jumping on that thing sometimes. They freak me out, I never jumped on those things when I was a kid. I always felt that I would fall to the side, hit my head and die.

I would have personally gone for the soccer ball.

I went to a party last december and it was a reunion between my old middle school friends (secundaria here) and they decided to play games all evening and ended up jumping up and down on the trampoline. I have to say, that wasn't for me. As soon as I got up there I started feeling anxious and lightheaded, my heartbeat was going so fast that I had to get off immediately. I left soon after that since it seemed that the rest of the party was gonna be about jumping that trampoline and apparently they kept jumping until the early morning. I guess I lost my internal kid or something.

Jarocha

OK have to say this... but Alejo (CRIPPLED - or the 'I' word ALEJO) holding a corndog on a stick in his hand and waving it around while talking to someone else is just .... TOO FUNNY!!! besides all kinds of WRONG!!!

Jarocha, I've always been the same way about bouncy stuff. It's all I can do to stay upright and keep my balance on firm ground. Wheels, skates, skis, boards, etc. between my feet and the ground are all recipes for disaster. Bouncing is definitely out. I don't even like shoes with springy insoles.

My internal child is still quite hearty (and demanding), but she and I both prefer to get our kicks in other ways.

Marta, I thought the same thing about the corndog. LOL.

Plus, just the fact that it was a corndog. Our credulity was strained enough when he took Emi to eat at Subway; he REALLY doesn't strike me as the kind of person who eats hot dogs or anything on a stick.

I don't think he ever actually bit into it, though.

If he had bit into it i would have been on the floor ROFLOL'ing!!
