De Que Te Quiero, Te Quiero #158 - Mon 8/18

De que muchas corazones se están rompiendo, se están rompiendo

Simona asks Diego what Nat was talking about in the office. Diego explains that Rodrigo did a lot of stuff to break them up, but it doesn't matter, it's over, and he's ready to move on.

Alonso goes over the hospital to ask Oscar, aka HOTscar what his intentions are toward Karina.  Reminder, Alonso…you're the baby daddy, not Karina's daddy.

Paul wants Carmen to be more supportive of Brigitte, but Carmen is just tapped out of compassion.  El leaves Paul and Carmen to talk.  Paul's surprised about Brigitte as well, but he doesn't want to just leave her to her fate.  Carmen doesn't think she can handle it and Paul pats her ineffectually until she cries on his shoulder.  He looks uncomfortable.

HOTscar tells Alonso he felt sorry for her, because she was so alone, and then started calling her.  He apologizes for thinking Karina was "alone" since Alonso's presence proves she's not.

Paul goes out to tell El that Carmen doesn't want to talk to Brigitte.  El understands her heartbreak, having watched the way Carmen raised all the kids.  He asks Paul to help Carmen as much as he can.  Paul wants to see Brigitte…

Who is busy cursing the day she ever decided to get into Rod's pants.  A sad Paul walks in and Brigitte starts the whining, but he says he's not there to judge, just to help.  He does, however, tell her that she's basically ruined their relationship and she can't expect any affection from him at this point.  Also, her mother is very disappointed in her.  But they're hopeful they can get her out on bail, which he will pay.  That's the most he can do.  Since he has nothing more to say, he leaves and Brigitte screams after him not to go, not to leave her.  A sad guitar plays.  That was rough…I couldn't even laugh.  Show, don't make me feel sorry for Brigitte!

Alonso keeps digging himself a hole as he explains that even though he has no romantic interest in Karina, he's still going to, uh, guard all approaches.  HOTscar displays signs of a spine as he says if Alonso's not interested in her, then what's it to him if HOTscar keeps calling?  If Karina doesn't want to hear from him, she'll let him know.  Go HOTscar!  Oddly, Alonso thought bubbles that he hopes he didn't scare Karina's suitor away.  Really, Alonso?  That was you NOT trying to scare him away?  What the heck were you going to say if you had been?

Eleazar wishes he could have kept this pain from Carmen, but she says she'll get over it.  She knows what it's like to be in jail, but instead of feeling compassion for Brigitte, she's feeling angry with her.  Brigitte needs to pay for all the harm she's done.  Paul bumbles in and interrupts their potential moment.  He says Brigitte keeps cryin' and denyin' and there's nothing to do but wait for the judge to set bail.  He hustles Carmen out of the office, away from El.

Diego and Simona visit Grumps' office.  He's still doing that weird thing with his face where he pulls the corners of his mouth up and shows his teeth and crinkles his eyes, what's that called?  Oh, yeah, smiling!  *shudder*  They have good news for him--Telermann approved the deal and they've signed the paperwork.  They're working on getting the fabric for the next collection.  Vicente praises Simona's efficiency.  I swear, he's looking at her like he's about to offer her a cookie or a lollipop for doing such a good job.

Nat is in her/Irene's office and grumpily tells Irene that Simona's coming through.  Nat thinks she's sucking up, but Irene says even though she's on Nat's "side" she can't deny that Simona is good at her job.  Well, fine, but Nat wants to make oooone laaaaast play for Diego and she wants Irene's help.  Irene agrees.  Let the jr. high plotting begin.

Karina has made some mistakes in her knitting, probably because thinking about HOTscar and wondering when he's going to call again is getting in the way of her concentration.  And him calling to break up with her doesn't help.  He tells her that Alonso came to visit him, so she puts her anger in juuuust the right place.  You messed with the pregnant woman, Alonso, and now you will pay!  She immediately calls him, but can't get through.

He's busy talking to Natalia and agreeing to help with whatever her plot is to get Diego to take her to the spring dance.  As soon as he's off the phone, Karina's call gets through.  She calls him an "entrometido" (meddler) a "metiche" (nosy) and a "chismoso" (gossip) and what's it to him?!  She says she hates him and he's the worst thing that ever happened to her.  Heh, heh, heh!  Better get ready to grovel, little Al.  May I suggest flowers, chocolates, and HOTscar in a Speedo jumping out of a cake?  Just a thought.

Back at Casa Garcia, Carmen asks Paul to leave her alone, which he doesn't think is a good idea, but he agrees.  Pobre de Carmen cries alone in her apartment.  Aw, for…someone needs to hug that woman!

Irene tells Simona she's gotten the specs for the fabric and thanks.  Simona hopes Irene likes the fabrics and Irene would like to show her the designs…maybe over coffee?  At the house?  Just the two of them?  Without Diego?  So they can get to know each other?

Natalia goes over to Casa Garcia and hears about what happened.  Natalia is more inclined to think that Rod DID threaten her, since she can't figure what Brigitte would have gotten out of giving him the watch.  Though she's upset that it means Brigitte was in contact with him all this time (eh, I'll give her that one…it's a logical conclusion, even if it's wrong).  Carmen asks about the whole wig thing and when she finds out that Nat already knew she understands why Nat has been so cold to Brigitte lately.  Natalia says she doesn't enjoy her suffering, but she did have it coming.  She feels bad for Carmen, though, who didn't deserve this.  On that, I think there's a good chance we are all in agreement.  Carmen cries while Nat hugs her.

Alonso tries to tell Karina to calm down.  She calls him cruel…he's been telling her for months that he doesn't care about her and now he's driving away a guy who showed her some interest.  He says he didn't mean it that way…he just wanted to find out what HOTscars intentions were.   He tries the "well, if one little creepy chat scared him away he couldn't have been THAT interested…" defense and I mentally kick him in the shins while Karina tells him that HOTscar went to all the trouble to find out her number and call her, even though she's got another man's bun in the oven, and that's pretty damn interested!  She complains that she's alone again, since she doubts he's doing this so he can have her all to himself.  "Well, no, not the way you want…."  She calls him a "tonto" (a stupid person) an "ególatra" (an egocentric person) and an "egoista" (a selfish person).  Al wonders how to fix it.  I shake my head pityingly in his general direction.

Carmen says life needs to go on, so whatever Nat is there for, she might as well get to it.  Carmen will be heading to the fonda soon to let the other siblings know what happened with Brigitte, since it's not like she can hide it.

Simona tells Diego about the invitation to coffee..that Diego's not invited to.  He thinks this is a good idea.  Simona doesn't know if Natalia will be there, but she figures they need to learn to get along…since they're going to be family, right?  Diego agrees and laughs as the music of doom plays in the background.

Natalia and Alonso haul two giant boxes into his apartment.  I have the fear!  Alonso leaves her alone to do the rest of her prep work while he figures out how to fix the mess he made with Karina.  No, not that mess, the other mess...no, I mean the other, other mess…I mean…wait, how many messes are we up to between the two of them?

Rodrigo is getting transferred.  He complains about his arm hurting while they cuff him.  Nobody cares.

Alonso goes back to the hospital looking for HOTscar, but he's out.

They parade Rod past Brigitte's cell so he can taunt her and she can curse him.  And cry.  I'm thinking all this can't be good for the baby, who probably doesn't need any additional stress on top of the stress of the parents s/he ended up with.

Diego gets back to Alonso's to find a puppet stage all set up.  He figures it's Natalia.  She tells the story of the two of them.  With puppets.  But we mostly see the flashbacks.  The puppets don't really look like them, so that's ok.  Mr. 5ft says it's the Avenue Q puppets.  Please, let's hope Nat doesn't go there and re-enact the ENTIRE relationship.  So far she's up to them meeting in Tuxpan.

HOTscar gets back to the hospital and Alonso apologizes to him.  HOTscar is confused.  Alonso says he really does want HOTscar and Karina to have a thing so Karina will stop being mad at him.

Nat cleans up the story a bit, by leaving the reasons for the separation vague.  The big separation, mind you…not the million daily break-ups and make-ups before then.  Diego cries.  Like, seriously cries.  Nat begs for another chance…and a hug…and some smoochies…and forgiveness.  Diego says he's sorry, but he doesn't feel anything for her anymore. He asked her for forgiveness, they had lots of opportunities to get back together and he got tired of begging.  She's out of his mind, his heart, and his soul.  He's forgotten her.  Nat cries now.  And leaves.  Diego looks uncomfortable.

Rod.  Prison.  Big Al is his cellmate!  The other prisoners call him crazy while Rod screams for the guards.  When his live, human cellmate taps him on the shoulder, Rod starts beating him to a pulp.  This is both the best and worst thing to do on your first day in prison.  On TV anyway.  What do I know.

Irene and Simona look over the designs and Simona loves them.  Grumpy Nat comes in and blows them off.  Simona thinks it's because she's there.  It's late, so she offers to leave so Irene can deal with her daughter.

Who is busy crying in her room.  Because Diego doesn't luuuuurve her anymore.  She begged as prettily as she could, but he said he was over her.  Nat is sure he's lying.  She hugged him and he was like a rock.  Irene says Nat has tried everything, but Nat says she can't forget him.  Irene tells her to start with calming down and then clearing her mind.  Nat blames all the superfluous drama on this show on listening to her head instead of her heart.  So now she's going to listen to her heart from now on, and if that means loving Diego forever even though he doesn't love her back, then that's what she'll do.

Diego mopes a bit over the puppets and the nice gesture that was just too late.  He cleans up the set.

Karina consoles herself with chocolate, but Alonso has brought HOTscar.  She doesn't recognize him at first and then has to apologize!  She recognizes his voice, though.  Alonso leaves them alone, but warns them that he'll be in the living room.  Dude…it's not like they were planning on getting it on tonight…they don't need a chaperone!  HOTscar says he got a little freaked out at Alonso acting like her dad.

A cop brings Brigitte some dinner, but she refuses to eat.  Eleazar shows up and Brigitte vents at him a bit.  He tells her her dad hired a lawyer for her, but he doesn't know when the hearing/trial will be.  If she's convicted, she's looking at a 5-10 year sentence, so it's better if she cooperates.  All Brigitte keeps saying is that Rod is lying and she only gave him the watch because he threatened her family.

Karina thinks HOTscar is right and Alonso IS acting like her father.  HOTscar says he and Al are besties now.  He's kinda shy about talking to Karina in person, so she suggests they talk on the phone…with him sitting across the room from her.  Annnd it works.  Alonso (go away, already!) walks in and sees this and thinks the two of them are made for each other.

The next day, Carmen is looking at Brigitte's baby pictures and wondering where she went wrong.  Aw, Carmen!  She flashes back to the many moods of Brigitte…dreaming, snotty, selfish, angry, jealous.  Ending with the day she caught Brigitte in Natalia's wedding dress in Diego/Rodrigo's office and Brigitte told her she was already used to not having a mother.  Poor Carmen.

HOTscar shows up at Karina's the next day with chocolates for her, but Rebecca doesn't realize he's there to visit and shuts the door on him.  He has to ring the doorbell again for her to let him in.

Simona meets Diego for coffee so he can tell her…that he saw Natalia last night.  She surprised him at Alonso's and tried to convince him to get back together with her.  Simona smiles like that sounds like a very sweet thing to do.  Oh, dear.  She might be the nicest person ever or she might be about to flip the table over and beat him with a chair, I'm not sure which.

HOTscar and Karina are stuck with Rebecca as a chaperone today and Karina claims a craving for "higos" (figs) to get rid of her.  HOTscar almost screws it up by offering to go get them himself, but Karina prevails.  It's HOTscar's day off, so he thought he'd surprise her, but he needs to make a call first before she can find out what the surprise is.

Eleazar has been summoned to the prison to talk about Rodrigo.  He saw the request that Rodrigo go into "reclusión psíquiatrica" (a prison psychiatric ward).  El says Rod's faking it, but the warden says he must be faking it really well…last night he beat his cellmate and claimed to see the man he killed.  They couldn't control him, so he had to put him in solitary.  He's concerned that after what happened, the other prisoners will want to retaliate.  He gives El permission to see him and he hopes El can convince him that if he plays crazy, he's not going to last long…and not because they'll transfer him, but because his fellow prisoners won't find it funny.

HOTscar wheels Karina out to the sidewalk, where an ambulance is waiting.  Rebecca comes back with the figs and freaks out.  Karina gives her the day off and tells her to eat the figs herself!  HOTscar says they're going to La Marquesa.

Rodrigo begs Eleazar to get him out because Alberto is in there!  El says that's his conscience, and getting out won't get him away from it.  El calls Alonso and asks to see him.  Meanwhile, Big Al keeps tormenting Rodrigo.

Tomorrow: Nat won't leave Diego alone and he keeps saying "no"; Simona is no creampuff!  And we are *8* episodes away from the Gran Final on August 29!

We're nearly there! Annnnd, I have a schedule conflict next Monday night...can anyone switch with me? I don't want to miss out on doing one last recap for this show!

Hey Kat- I'll switch my Friday with you. I don't want the pressure of recapping this fin.

Loved the recap! Alonso really pithed me off last night.

Hello 5ft, nice review! All I can say is, "Diego!Diego!" He made me proud when he shot her down. As much as I hated him for what he did to Natalia, I'm starting to come around on him( I guess that's what the writers want). I'm indifferent to Irene helping Natalia with this façade, like you said, this was very junior high schoolish. However, at a certain point it's passes from cute to blatant disrespect, and Natalia is disrespecting Diego's relationship with Simona. But the preview showed Simona snapping at Natalia, Yes!!!! I couldn't understand, since I don't speak English, but I'm assuming it had something to do with telling Natalia to stay away from her man. Alonso, yes he pissed me off with his antics, but I loved that Oscar gave it back and wasn't a punk. I think I see the writers having Simona confront Natalia, Natalia run crying to mommy, and Irene confronting Simona and mucho drama. can't wait til tonight!

You've got it Bryan. Simona was telling Nat that what she had with Diego was in the past and Diego is hers (Simona) now.

I'm proud of Diego, but I still hated for Nat that she got rejected. She deserves it, but still... ouch. I'm honestly beginning to wonder if Nat and Diego will end up together.

Oh. And still no sign of the will.

Thank Sara for translating for me, and I meant I can't speak Spanish not English..lol. I missed the whole will part of the series but it looks like they're going to just let that drift off into the wind.

Excellent, Kat!

I'm proud of Diego for sticking to his decisions too, but not because it hurts Nat. I don't think she deserves to be hurt. What Diego said and did was worthy of her breaking up with him and not forgiving him, no matter how many times and ways he begged.

What I'm proud that he seems to have matured and is conducting his relationship with Simona like an adult, which he did not do with Nat. He's not with Simona to forget Nat, and he seems to really be into her. Character growth is wonderful.

I feel bad for Nat, but as Irene told her, she can't order Diego's heart who to love.

I hope Carmen finds some peace about Brat. She did her best, but Brat made her own choices.

Kat, awesome. "HOTscar"

"Who is busy cursing the day she ever decided to get into Rod's pants."

"May I suggest flowers, chocolates, and HOTscar in a Speedo jumping out of a cake? "

I think the two narcissist should hook up. Li'l Al & kNat

Diego - awww, that's cute, now git

Irene - I'd never do business with you again

Alonso - who needs empathy & sensitivity when I got diplomas and tight pants

Simona - yep, you were set up

Nat - you have to love me, got this boob job and I'm the star of the show

Hot Rod - crazy, playing crazy

Brigitte - persona non grata

Paul - can I leave now

Oscar - my other car is the Munster Koach

Karina - why didn't I meet you a year ago

Kat, clever and witty as always.

"Reminder, Alonso…you're the baby daddy, not Karina's daddy" and "May I suggest flowers, chocolates, and HOTscar in a Speedo jumping out of a cake" were a few of my favorites.

"Diego cries. Like, seriously cries".Ummm, he had to have been crying at how pathetic the puppet show was right? I kept thinking an impassioned, face to face plea would have been so much more sincere, and much harder to ignore.

Bryan, I agree that I have a bit more respect for Diego. He has closed the door and has learned from his mistakes, putting Simona first and foremost. Unless Simona has some hidden ulterior motive, I don't see what would possess them to break up and Diego does truly seem over Natalia. He certainly has grown Vivi.

But maybe you have it tofie: "Nat - you have to love me, got this boob job and I'm the star of the show". Too funny.

"He's still doing that weird thing with his face where he pulls the corners of his mouth up and shows his teeth and crinkles his eyes, what's that called? Oh, yeah, smiling! *shudder*". Kat, your comment on Grumps had me laughing out loud.

So perhaps it will be Alberto to bring Rod down. Well, at least his spirit.

I felt momentarily sorry for Paul last night until he left El's office with Carmen and then turned and projected a smarmy "I've got her now" look. Blech.

Poor Carmen. And like you Kat, I don't want to feel sorry for Brig but I kind of do.

As far as Al and Irene, I really don't care. I stopped caring once Tadeo died. If that's who and what she wants, go ahead. Immature and controlling is not my idea of an ideal man, but whatev...

Kat,this was great.

Diana

Thanks for this recap, 5ft. I enjoy your wit and insights so much.

Hi, Bryan, nice to see you here. You had me going there when you mistakenly said you didn't speak English!

I am still thinking that Simona has some fatal flaw. Last week when everyone was telling Nat that she was perfect just sent off alarm bells for me.

I thought Nat's attempt to get back with Diego was inventive and touching, and Diego's tears told me that he isn't over Nat as much as he may wish.

Alonso saying that Oscar (the orderly) being scared off by little Al (a doctor) means he must not have much backbone. Has Al not considered the difference in power in their respective positions? Alonso strikes out again.

Thanks again, 5ft. you never disappoint.

David

At least Al went and fixed his mistake quickly this time. Nice to see Karina really happy.

Good point, Vivi.

David

oh, li'l Al is just a impulsive teen, may always buy his pants in the boys department but he'll grow out of it.

Gracias Sara, Bryan, Vivi, tofie, Diana, and David!

Sara, Thank you for trading days with me next week! I really appreciate that. I love how you're on Will Watch! I'm starting to wonder if they're ever going to deal with it, or if they're hoping we've forgotten?

tofie, you've said it so many times, and I have yet to notice the tight pants on Alonso! I swear, I'm paying attention, I guess I'm just doing it with my ears more than my eyes! I'm on pants watch tonight. I may regret that later.

Diana, my take on the crying was that he was genuinely sad about all the things that had happened between them, even if it didn't change his mind. It was bad enough when Rod was the one getting in the way, but to be reminded about what a smashing job he and Nat did of screwing things up even after Rod wan't an issue anymore was probably the more painful part.

I do like the way Diego is taking his relationship with Simona seriously and not just treating her like she's filling in for Natalia. Yay for character development!

Alonso was indeed in fine (annoying) form last night, but we can tell the end is nigh because of how quickly he moved to clean up his mess, as Vivi said.

What's saddest to me about Brigitte is that I don't think she's learned a damn thing. I think she's sorry she got caught. In a way, I don't want Carmen to go talk to her, because I'm sure she's going to say something horrible.

Lol, David, you just keep your eyes on that Simona girl and let us know if she makes any shifty moves! I think the claws are coming out tonight. Maybe we'll get closer to finding out whether she's just a mature, competent professional or has some ulterior motive. Good observation that Al was pulling rank on Oscar, even without realizing it.

"It was bad enough when Rod was the one getting in the way, but to be reminded about what a smashing job he and Nat did of screwing things up even after Rod wasn't an issue anymore was probably the more painful part."

Kat- You nailed it. I think that is exactly why Diego was crying, and what the real issue is between him and Nat. If at the end the writers can have Nat and Diego acknowledge this and learn from it, then I can be supportive of them getting back together, as we know they will.

not only his pants but his shirt and jackets too. He's trying way too hard

Another winner, Diva.

"Diego and Simona visit Grumps' office. He's still doing that weird thing with his face where he pulls the corners of his mouth up and shows his teeth and crinkles his eyes, what's that called? Oh, yeah, smiling! *shudder*

You're right--seeing Grumps smile is so unsettling. And he still, somehow, looks menacing in spite of the grin.

Oh my, junior high plotting indeed. Wish I could care about these Nat and Diego getting back together but I just can't.

Alonso was even more annoying than usual last night. I applaud your desire to kick him in the shins. What a pompous little meddler!

Would like to see more comforting of Carmen from El and not that pissant little Frenchie.

Welcome Bryan. Most of us don't speak Spanish either but we're sure learning a lot of the lingo from these shows. I do manage, after 8 years of watching, to speak Spanglish with my Colombian friend but it's slow going.

Thanks Diva for getting this off the ground with your solo recaps until you finally built a team It's been a fun ride.

Vivi-it feels like it's Simona who's going to have to get out of the way. Either by stepping aside gracefully or turning out to be evil. Nat needs to have some growth as well, but I'm not sure what it would take for me to buy it. Keeping her word to herself and just loving him from afar would be a good start, but the previews are making it look like that's not what she does.

tofie, I'm starting to be afraid to look too closely now! I may need to scrub my brain out after!

Thanks, JudyB! I will never get used to Grumps smiling. And there's not much time left for it, so I won't really have to! His face doesn't seem to be used to it...I guess Mom was right! It really will get stuck that way!

If I were Simona, I'd head right back to Tellerman and tell them to have their lawyers back out of the contract. Clearly, Irene cannot be trusted and set her up so Nat can try to steal Diego.

I try not to but went there and he's got this..uh..this, well you can't miss it. It's not for a professional environment, clubbing maybe.

Ohhhhh, I have the fear!

It was inappropriate for Irene to mix business with adolescent shenanigans. It's good that Simona saw the designs, and I agree that it's a good idea for them to get to know each other better, but too bad for Nat's plotting that it probably only increased Irene's respect for Simona. I don't think, even if Simona finds out the timing was calculated, she's going to let that get in the way of business. Nat and Irene were game-playing, but Simona "won" without even knowing about it, so she can afford to be gracious. Or laugh in Nat's face, whichever.

Thanks 5 ft for an excellent recap. I especially appreciate the many Spanish translations. I try to jot down words and look up later but last night Karina was "rapid fireing" her choice words.

I know the recaps and comments are supposed to focus on snark and drama but I'm always happy when a tiny bit of Spanish is thrown in.

David, I always enjoy your comments. It's nice to have a fresh/objective point of view.

And also..."clubbing"...if you're meaning what I think you're meaning....

Sue, thanks! I find as I do this that I tend to focus less on the language. It's hearing words that are new to me that gets my attention in that area. Most of Karina's insults I knew already, but she tossed a few in there that I wasn't familiar with. Still, the language is important. It's why many? most? of us are watching, so...remind me when you need more!

Oh, I meant to ask if someone could explain what the set up was between Irene, Nat and Simona? It went over my head and I was hoping that someone would comment on it more than saying it was a plot for Nat to steal Diego from Simona.
Thanks

Sue- It really wasn't all that much of a plot. Irene kept Simona busy, with some genuine work, while Nat was able to do her puppet show for Diego. Simona had already wanted to see the designs so that she would better be able to understand how her fabrics would be used. Irene invited her over to her house to both look at the designs AND for them to get to know each other better (but without Diego). Both of these things were accomplished. What was not accomplished, was Nat convincing Diego to take her back.

oh, Kat. Club Wear, Club Wear

tofie, club WEAR...riiiiiiight. (Yes, I'm 12.)

Yep, Vivi, I agree with your explanation. There was no real discussion of it, but also no other way to interpret it after Nat giving her the puppy dog eyes and asking for help.

Yes, I agree 5ft. It was inappropriate for Irene to mix business with Natalia's high jinx. I think if Simona found out about it, she won't be too happy that Irene played a part in this scheme. I do think that Natalia will drag Irene into it with her and it will get messy with Diego having to choose between Simona or Irene and Natalia. Also, I'm new to the telenovela thing, but why is it that people in this novella's can't take no for an answer. Erick in Robo, Alonso, first Diego and then Natalia, Paul. This must be a common theme in telenovelas.

Kat: what a hoot and a half!!! I was going to put down all the lines that had me laughing out loud, but I'd end up practicallly cutting and pasting the whole recap.

Irene and Nat's high school behaviour is souring the Ultimas Capitulos for me. I've liked both of them--and still like Irene--but Nat is beginning to go on my s**t list.

I like that Diego is honest with Simona about what's going on. No hiding what Nat is trying to do.

I hope the writers don't go the route of making Simona a bad girl in disguise. I'd rather see her bow out gracefully than be evil and that be the reason they break up.

I'd also like to see some self-reflection on Nat's part, as Diego has done, so that they can both accept cupability for what happened between them, as Vivi noted.

Nanette

Not a spoiler:

Diego visits Rod in prison (once he gets out of solitary confinement), for a final goodbye, then Rod overpowers Diego and switches places with him so that Diego is the one serving the very long prison term.

This whole switched identify aspect of this novela is pretty stupid and tiresome. Just think how much time and effort could have been solved if the twins could have just tattooed their first names on their forehead!

Thanks Vivi and 5ft for an interpretation of the scheme between Nat and Irene. Sounds like it was merely a way for Nat to have a chance to set up the puppet show.

Of course one's dislike for these characters is going to feed into how we comment about them. Still, comments like the following can be misleading to those of us who look to the comments for things that we didn't catch in the episode.
Bryan@1:16PM "It was inappropriate for Irene to mix business with Natalia's high jinx. I think if Simona found out about it, she won't be too happy that Irene played a part in this scheme. I do think that Natalia will drag Irene into it with her and it will get messy with Diego having to choose between Simona or Irene and Natalia."

No offense intended. Everyone's point of view is as valid as the next guys.

It was a puppet show in the apartment that Diego is staying. It was intended, as Diego explained to Simona, for Natalie to try and convince Diego to be with her instead of Simona. Irene did assist in pulling this off, so did Alonso. I understand why Irene did this, however, Simona is an officer of the company that has come to bail Caprico out and at best what Irene did was disrespectful.

Bryan, the not-taking-no-for-an-answer thing is often framed as "fighting for your love." And yep, it's quite apallingly common.

Gracias, Nanette! I'm hoping for some increased maturity, and quick! If Diego can do it, so can they!

Lol, Gobluefan, I wouldn't put it past them to try that, since they deliberately avoided it by having Diego out of town when the murder happened in the first place.

Sue, I'm not understanding the problem with Bryan's comment. That really is what happened. Natalia wanted time alone with Diego, so Irene invited Simona over for coffee and to view the designs. Sorry I didn't explain that better in the first place, but it really was deliberate. Convenient, yes, since the coffee/design review part was a good idea in itself, but she did it after hours on purpose so Natalia could make a bid to have Diego take her back, which would necessitate him breaking up with Simona. I don't know how else to interpret that. I mean, I'm glad she didn't do it some other way...we've seen all sorts of shenanigans to give two people time alone together, like Diego's lying about the photo shoot...but her motivation wasn't innocent.

No offense taken, Sue. My view of what this forum is for is for people to vent their feelings about the telenovela and what happened. If I'm wrong someone straighten me out. My view of what happened between, Nat,Diego and Irene seems pretty consistent with other people are saying about the situation as well. It was wrong for Irene to do what she did and disrespectful as well. I personally feel she can't be objective and should stay out of it. She even said, "anything I can do to help you and Diego get back together I'll do it." or something to that affect. Based on what the writers have done in the past, I'm shocked they haven't made Simona this incredibly jealous, and insecure person like they did with everyone else. Maybe they've learned from their mistakes?

Bryan, hopefully they have, but the last time we thought that was the case on another show, and we had a character who was sweet and kind and supportive and just too good to be true...she ended up going down that bad road to "If-I-Can't-Have-You-No-One-Can"ville, so I'm hesitant to be tooooo hopeful.

we've already seen Angela go from easy going, pinch hitter and all around sweet gal to frothing at the mouth shrew that was exiled from the kingdom

Yeah, anything could happen with Simona's character at this point. If they can do a 180 with a character we knew from the beginning (Angela), they can do whatever they wont to a character we've only known for 2 seconds.

I hate the fact that I've missed so much of this show and I'm just now coming on-board. I was never into Telenovelas until my Dominican wife introduced me. I can't remember the name, but the first one was where a woman's baby was taken from her and found on top of trash can by some homeless people who never reported it. But coincidently 5 years later the mother and father are taking care of the kid without releasing that was their kid. Mateo I believe his name was. Then it was the middle of robo, and now this one. I want to go back and watch old episodes but listening to all of you, I might just get more upset with this show than I already am..lol.

and Angela was sacrificed for a third tier player(Mali)in this not the shows star. Simona will likely go "Carrie" on us.

Bryan- That was Un Refugio Para el Amor. Wish you have joined us for that one!

ah, thanks Vivi, that's right. I wish I knew about this forum back then. That show was making me pull my hair out, Although I did tear up a little when they finally found out he was their son, and the homeless couple were really upsetting me for not coming clean a lot sooner than they did.
Just so I'm sure, was Angela the one running around trashing Carmen's son's girlfriend? I was still trying to catch up at that point, I think's it's her.

Bryan- Yep. That's Angela. Up until that point, she was this sweet, down to earth, intuitive, smart new agey hippie chick. Most of us couldn't even get mad at her because it was so clear that the writers were presenting us with a totally different character.

Ah, Ok Vivi. I hated what she was doing and was calling her all kinds of names. I couldn't understand why she was torturing this sweet girl(Mali). I was so glad she left, but like I said, I missed a lot.

I guess I misunderstood the use of the words "Nat's high jinx". I read into that and assumed I missed something.

I was sincere when I said "no offense intended". I have seem other cases of when a novela is in its ultimas semanas and things are not going as we would like, commenters start getting frustrated and directing their comments at each other. That's not what I'm about.

Bryan- Even though the character had totally been warped, Angela did actually have a perfectly valid reason for doubting Mali. Mali had first flirted with Abdul to spy for her aunt/pimp on Carmen's fonda, and helped her aunt/pimp in her schemes to close the fonda down. Mali had been a prostitute. Mali's aunt/pimp seduced and deceived Abdul in order to use him and to hurt Carmen. Mali knew what was happening.

What Angela didn't know was that Mali was a hooker with a heart of gold. She had become increasingly uncomfortable and unhappy with her pimp/aunt's deceptions and bad treatment. She had basically been given to her aunt/pimp as a child and never had a choice in becoming a hooker. And that she really cared about/loved Abdul. But even with all those real reasons to be suspicious, real Angela would have never behaved the way the writers had her behave. She would have heard Mali out, seen that she was for real, and accepted that this was the woman Abdul loved (like the way Carmen reacted).

Kat thanks so much for your recap.

Like Sara, little Al was a huge problem for me. And as our Vivi noted, its really not ok that neither Nat nor Diego are really deal with their break up (his trust issues and calling her horrible names in front of her parents, her using Andres and not really understanding how her actions towards Rod made Diego crazy).

Still wish for better planning on the part of the writers.

Gracias, Karen. Well, we're nearly through, so maybe they'll manage to somehow tie this up better than they've unraveled it!

Sue, I figured it just didn't get explained well.

Great recap, episode, more drifting off to my thoughts.
Problem with this novela, just tooooo loooong. Why don't they learn, !quality!, not quantity????!!!!!

Lol, Variopointa! Oh, yes! And still 9 more episodes to go...when there doesn't seem to be 9 episodes' worth of material left to cover.

Thanks for the explanation, Vivi. I see I missed a whole lot. I think I'm done with Telenovelas after this, I don't think my common sense can take it.

Bryan- You have to come back! We have so much fun here, even when the tns go off the rails. Comparatively, this one isn't bad. You can't imagine the mental gymnastics we all had to do to understand the motivations of any of the characters in Corazon Indomable!

lol, vivi. What's the next big telenovela. Mi Corazon es tuya? They've put a new Telenovela in place of robo but I'm not feeling the preview.

Bryan, I'm enjoying Mi Corazon es tuya. Very light fare so far. Some of the characters are over acted in an attempt to be comedic but I like the story. Just check in on some of the recaps

Now that you've found CarayCaray, Bryan, you'll understand that it's not so much about the telenovelas as about the Community.

For some it's about learning Spanish, for others it's mindless relaxation watching gorgeous people fight, fume and fall passionately in and out of love.

But ultimately, it's more about the interaction and the friendships that develop here as we discuss the scandalous doings.

Usually, we never meet. But I actually have met four people on the blog when they passed through Columbus, and have spoken on the phone with several more. This is a group of people who love to communicate...and we do, over coffee, over dinner, over drinks or just over the internet!

Good point Judy! You're right. A lot of places on the Internet, the comments on a blog post just degenerate into badness and people don't really have conversations with each other. The occasional rotten egg may show up here, but for the most part, things stay cordial, even when we don't agree. It's really refreshing.
