Luz tell Lupita that El and Carmen are getting back together. Lupita asks if she can call her “abuela” instead of “madrina.”

Simona comes back and she’s looking for Diego. Carmen notes her splotchy appearance. Simona explains.

Diego tells Nat she’s the love of his life. Nat says he’s the love of her life. She wants assurances that he’s not just being impulsive and she wonders about Simona. He assures her he loves her and that Simona has left the campsite and him. They smooch and hit the ground.


The Garcias continue to comment on Simona’s bee stings. She explains about running into a bee hive (panal) getting stung while Diego was getting kindling. She tells them she left a note. She thought maybe he was with the Garcias. Irene has something for the itching. When they go off El asks Carmen where Nat is. She assumes somewhere with Paul.

Diego and Nat continue to revel in their reconciliation. Nat wants to yell to the winds how much she loves him.

El and Carmen think it’s best not to mention that Nat is not at the campsite either. El thinks she’s with Diego.

The two love birds return and Simona hops up with a kiss. She babbles about the bees and the antihistamine. Diego just mumbles. Nat looks on and Carmen asks what’s up. Nat just tells her Diego ran into her while she was walking.

Rod tells himself he has to escape. He has to take advantage of the hospital visit. He won't be able to escape from jail. He opens the door and notices the guard.

Diego daydreams. Simona wants to head back and rest. They leave. Natalia kicks herself for once again falling for his pretty words. Carmen comforts her and Natalia explains that Diego had told her Simona was out of the picture. Unfortunately, the minute he saw Simona again he went off with her. Natalia didn’t matter at all. Carmen tells her to let him go and that time will heal all wounds. Natalia should move on.

Rod yells about his pain when the guard comes in to investigate, Rod overpowers him and takes his gun. The next time we see him, he’s in a janitor’s uniform and pushing a mop bucket so he’s able to avoid detection as alarms sound.

Cenudo radios El on the most powerful walkie talkie I’ve seen (seriously? all the way from the DF?) He informs El of the assault and the transfer to the hospital for placas (x-rays). El assumes someone beat Rod and Al confesses that Rod started talking about Alberto which drove Al nuts (me sacó de mis casillas) Al was the one who beat up Rod. Carmen doesn’t blame Al, but El is a little annoyed that Al lost his cool. El heads out. Abdul will take El’s car and Luz back to the city.

Simona and Diego have stopped at a diner. She notices how quiet he is. Diego tells her he and Nat made love and breaks up with her.

El tells Alonso that Rod planned it all and Al should have kept his cool. Al declares what we’ve known all along—that’s he’s an embecile. El tells him not to feel bad. Rod is smarter than anyone thought and if anyone is to blame it’s the guys in charge of guarding him. They were dealing with a murderer and they should have taken more precautions.

Rod on the streets mumbling about money and getting out of the city.

Diego explains he ran into Nat at the arroyo and things just happened. He loves Nat and can’t deny it. Simona is a class act. She thought she could help him forget Nat, but she can’t. She hopes he’s not mistaken and that Nat knows how to return his love. Simona she knows he was sincere in trying to make a go at it with her, but it didn’t work. She wishes him luck and gets ready to go. He wants to take her home, but she wants to take a taxi. She asks him to let her go. She maintains her dignity despite the distracting bee-sting makeup that they really didn’t have to put on her face. It ruined the scene for me (TN note: her calm demeanor is too good to be true. Could there be another character assassination in the next 4 days?) Diego is cara de I suck.

Rod robs a mini-mart

El goes to Carmen’s apartment. He tells her about Rodrigo’s escape. She gets pithed because she thinks he’s trying to say she’s going to help him. She says he didn’t believe her when she told him about Rod’s last escape attempt. She agrees to let El know if Rod contacts her, but she isn’t coming off as happy about it.

Diego shows up at Irene’s and…do I have to recap this part? Ok, I’ll do it….but under duress….(I assume it's bad form to invoke the RPC during últimos capítulos.) Nat doesn’t want him to come in. She tells him she got his message loud and clear: he’s with Simona. He has to force himself in to explain that he was just trying to keep things from being complicated. I told Simona the truth: that he and Nat are in love. (Recapper's rant: I am on Diego’s side on this one. Did Nat want him to break up with Simona publicly at the campground? Come on, Nat. He was trying to have some class. Why are you being such a be-yotch?) Anyhoo…she doesn’t believe he’s broken up with Simona. She’s firmly convinced that if she and Diego had not run into each other and made love, he would have gotten back with Simona when she returned from her medical treatment. She kicks him out. Irene asks Nat about throwing him out; Nat didn’t believe him? Why not? “Just because “ is Nat’s well-articulated response. sheesh.

Cenudo informs El about the robbery. The suspect was in a hospital janitor uniform and fit Rod’s description.

Irene still questions Nat. If Diego said he broke up with Simona, why isn’t Nat denying him a chance? Nat stubbornly insists that Diego would have given Simona another chance. She assumes he is, in fact, headed for Simona’s right now. What happened at the campsite was just a chance encounter. Irene asks what happened and Nat just tells her it’s something that will never happen again. Irene asks if Nat mentioned Rod’s escape. Nat tells her no. Irene immediately calls and tells Diego about the beatdown, hospital visit and escape. (thank goodness. Nat is clearly all about Nat right now. Rod’s escape is something Diego needs to know.)
The mini-mart folks ID Rod from a picture line up. El gives Cenudo instructions to get descriptions of the stolen valuables and distribute them to the area pawn shops.

Diego arrives at Al’s and asks him why he didn’t tell him about punching Rod. Al feels bad because now Rod escapes. Diego worries about his abuelo’s safety. Al asks about Nat. Diego explains about Nat not believing him.

Nat flashesback to the arroyo luvin’ and Simona’s appearance at camp. She mutters about not believing Diego.

Diego asks Al why Nat won’t believe him. He asks Al what he should do. Al thinks if he knew, he would be doing the same thing himself. Al convinces Diego to be aloof and indifferent. That seemed to get her attention last time. Diego is intrigued.

Rod counts cash and grunts about his pain. He gets up to go to a pharmacy to buy some meds, but mumbles about going tomorrow in different clothes. He lies on the bed and doesn’t get much further.

Diego is worried about Vicente. He and Irene ask Vicente to be careful. Vicente is afraid if the police catch Rod, they’ll kill him. It would be a painful and sad end.

Nat sketches and daydreams.

Rod tries to pawn a madallion from the robbery. The shop owner recognizes it and trips a silent alarm, but Rod draws his gun, clocks the guard and escapes.

Morales heard about the escape. El won’t stop until Rod is caught. Morales tells El that he and Kimberly have set a date for the wedding. At first El thinks the rushed date is because Morales is going to be a daddy, but that's not the case. Morales and Kim are taking advantage of his week off before heading to Merida. Not the same the same job El was offered--Morales will be in charge of the white collar crime division. Cenudo calls and informs El they've found the hotel Rod is staying at.

Brat at the laudromat. Her workmate talks. She asks if it's true that Brat is the daughter of the Frenchie Doctor. Brat says he is. The workmate can't believe her dad would let her at such a crappy job. Paul shows up and Brat whines and kvetches. He says something about learning to be a better person. Keep dreaming Mushroom Man.

Police search Rod's room. He see's them leaving the hotel.

Diego ignores Nat at the office. She pouts and assumes he's back with Simona. He gloats and things the indifference thing is working. Was that love I saw in her eyes? (Was that eyerolling I saw from Viwerville? Aren't we supposed to be past this?)

El is back at the office bemoaning how close they were to getting Rod. They are going to catch him no matter what. Luz calls him and invites him over for enchiladas de chipilín.

Al interrupts Karina and HOTscar's (Oscar) dinner. Karina tells him they are engaged. They want to get hitched ASAP.

Nat texts Diego "Are you back with Simona?" He ignores it.

HOTscar thinks it's a good idea to marry before the baby is born so they can register the child in his name. Even Karina is not cool with this. HOTscar leaves. Karina asks Al to do something. She doesn't want to lose HOTscar.

El arrives at Luz's. She says she needs to go out and get bolillos (rolls), which El finds a bit odd since she was preparing enchiladas. He shrugs it off.

Rod holds a guy up and the guy is a black-belt in azz kicking. It's hilarious.

Nat frets about Diego not answering her texts. She is not going to lose again!

Luz runs downstairs and asks Carmen if she can use her phone (I didn't catch her explanation of why her phone didn't work...I was taking notes.) While she pretends to talk to Dolores, she tells Carmen she left some milk on the stove. Could Carmen go take care of it for her. Once Carmen is up there (with El), Luz locks them in and says they can't come out until they make up. Lupita approves.

Rod rops a pharmacy to get some injections for his pain. Before he pulled his gun, the pharmacist explains he will need to find someone who is good at finding the veins to do the injection (again, half listening. Did he say PERSON or just "you'll need to find the vein"?)

El and Carmen talk it out. He finally gets to say his well-rehearsed "te amo." Carmen admits that even though it wasn't a falling star, she wished on the comet and it came true. Smoochies and special effects.
