La Malquerida #4: 8/28/14: So Shall It Be Written, So Shall It Be Done Says Acacia

Hola Amiguis. This epi is moving this story right along. We get Norberto's big mis planes, Ana has an adventure and Acacia? Still up with her rant. Want to know more, Please read on. Broken and here is your earworm.

Shall we begin?

Cris and Acacia were talking about Esteban and how Acacia really feels about him. Cheating her Mama. She tells Cris she will tolerate Esteban but nothing more. Rose comes out of the house with Luisa and they hug Acacia.

Danilo has come and is very pithed that Turquesa (Ana) has gotten away. He swears he will kill the henchie and beats him. Olga is terribly frightened and Danilo does see poor dead Carlitos. Olga now informs Danilo that Turquesa stole the briefcase in the lockbox and he isn't happy. He wants Turquesa found like yesterday.

The first part of Ana's adventure starts in a cafe. She is sitting there and opens the briefcase she stole from the lock box, but when she opens it there are bundles of things in it, and you can tell it is drugs. The waiter in this cafe is giving her a not nice once over. Ana runs in the bathroom and dumps the drugs in the toilet and flushes them. You go girl!

German is outside one of the buildings at his Hacienda, that would be Norberto's. German is Norberto's son. He seems to be the artist. German is assuring Norberto things are swell with the work and German might be the capatz,Norberto goes off. German slips into the cabin and paints some, his work is fab.

Luisa and Acacia have a chat. Acacia has given Luisa a dress and some makeup I think. Luisa is saying how much they like Esteban around here. Acacia is not happy about that. Luisa says how much she has missed Acacia.

Luisa and Acacia are outside and a ranch hand named Chucho has brought a horse for Acacia. This was her horse, and she has missed it muchly. Luisa tells her that Don Esteban took care of the horse and does Acacia want to hear it? Of course not! Acacia takes a ride over the hacienda and takes in the planted fields, and the workers working. She doesnt' seem that impressed and heads to town.

Norberto and Juliana have a convo. Norberto is expecting a visit from the Vet to check the cattle for some disease. Also Norberto is off to some Ag Association meeting. I take it that Esteban is also a member. Juliana tells him there will be a celebratory dinner at Cris' to welcome Acacia home. Norberto can't believe it! Norberto has mis planes. He wants to marry Manuel to Acacia. Juliana is unsure about that. But here is the rest of Norberto's mis planes. Once Manuel and Acacia marry, they join the Hacienda lands, Manuel takes over and Esteban will be working for them.

El Rubio has brought Esteban home. Esteban warns El Rubio not to get drunk. Acacia walks up and Esteban introduces himself, he doesn't know she is Acacia. He's the Dueno of this ranch. Acacia doesn't think so. It's her Mama not some peon that worked for her Papa and the only reason he married her Mama was her money of course. I have to say that Esteban took this well. He won't argue with her, but please don't upset her Mama. Esteban tells Acacia her Mama has suffered enough and of course this is all Esteban's fault. Acacia demands that Esteban give up her Mama. He asks her if she never considered the fact that he loves her Mama. Finally Cris comes and stops the Esteban abuse. Acacia says she said hi to Esteban and will now take flowers to her Papa's grave. She goes to the crypt and lays her flowers on there, says she misses her Papa and that Esteban will never take her Papa's place. Never!

Cris and Esteban have a chat. How did it go with Acacia? Esteban tells Cris it will take some time. She knows Esteban has been never cheated her, and he promises to get along with Acacia.

German has gone to the park and is sketching a very pretty young lady on a bench, and it's Ana. He keeps sketching but she sees him and takes off, he tries to get her to come back, but she keeps running.

Manolo (knickname for Manuel) comes to the Benavente and greets Acacia. He wants to go to the river with her manana. He says she is beautiful, Rosa comes in and tell her her Mama and El Patr, but stops her self and says they are waiting on her for dinner. In the dining room Esteban tells Cris he didn't recognize Acacia. Esteban just wants Cris to be happy that Acacia is home. Now I gotta say here, dumbest move ever, Esteban gives up his seat at the head of the table and gives it to that nitwit Acacia, who needs to put her big girl pants on and deal. Now Cris and Esteban have to tip toe around her. Acacia needs a good boot up her butt, jus' sayin'

Danilo goes to Hortensia (Ana's Mom) to see if maybe Ana made it there. All that woman can do is whine, she is alone, has no money and Ana isn't there. Meantime, Ana has found herself a little lean to with either sheep or goats and is crying and praying that Carlitos finds a way to help her. Some guy comes in the morning and runs her off.

Cris goes to wake Acacia up as the roosters crow. She wants Acacia to go off with her and Esteban. Acacia can't stand Esteban of course. Cris has to tell her for the umpteenth millionth time that Cris loves Esteban and that he saved the Hacienda, what part of that doesn't Acacia get? Has she got wax build up in her ears! The whole point of this convo is that Cris wants Acacia to finally accept Esteban.

Luisa is liking Manuel and he comes by to take Acacia to the river, and he shoves Luisa out of the way. Acacia wants Luisa to come with her. Here comes El Rubio, who thinks he is the be all and end of everything. He tells Luisa she best be getting to work, cause he superviors her and too bad, so sad she isn't going. Well Acacia hears this whole exhange and asks who he might be? He is the capatz of this place and the servants kow tow, have to do what he says. Acacia says she is the Patrona's daughter and what Acacia says goes, and says Luisa is going with them, take that Rubio. He doesnt' say a word to Acacia.

Norberto and Esteban are having a chat, about some construction thingy going on and at the next Ag Meeting they need to draft a letter and object to this. Norberto asks after Acacia and tell Esteban that Manuel is so happy she is back. Esteban leaves.

He gets back to Benvenuto and Rubio informs him immediately that Acacia and Manuel have gone down to the river.

Perla is with Danilo and he is witching about not being able to find Turqesa. He's searched every where and no one has seen her. Then he gets a call. Perla assures Danilo he'll find Turquesa and then of course he'll kill her.

Ana is in a church and asks to speak to the Padre. She would like to go to a convent and become a nun. Ana wants the Padre to recommend her. The Padre think she isn't cut out for it. (She made a pretty good nun in Amorcito Corazon)! She thinks it has to do with maybe her past, but the Padre tells her no, that isn't it. She needs to confront these things and not hide out in a convent. Ana is so very upset, the Padre touches her and she tells him never to touch her. I think the Padre might have a clue now. She pulls a piece of paper out with Acacia's number and will contact her for help.

Manuel tries to get Acacia to go in the water but she won't so Luisa goes with Manuel. Shortly afterwards Esteban shows up at the river.

Cris and Juliana are talking about the painter. He could do a show, I guess maybe Chris has seen his work. Juliana says no way, Norberto must never know.

Avances:

I didn't really catch them. Gloria can tell you all about it in Friday nights' recap!

Good Early Morning Y'all:

Please enjoy the recap; The title I took from the movie the "Ten Commandentments" Ramses (Yul Brynner) says it in the movie. The earworm will be a big surprise. And sorry about the Acacia rant, but for heaven's sake, where are her big girl pants????

Acacia's big girl pants must be at the dry cleaners. Thanks for another recap Madelaine! Poor Ana, hopefully she'll get to the ranch soon. Now I finally got to see and study Brandon Peniche in action. I'll admit I'm impressed, though that bouffant is offensive. I really hope they aren't gonna turn Luisa into the jealous frenemy because I hate it when novelas do that to friendships.

Cassandra G.

Perfect title. Yes, I'm still a day behind but man Acacia is like Aaranza all over again (Decie Girl nailed that.)

Nice recap. Acacia's spoiled entitled behavior is getting to me. She has an awful lot of power and control for a girl that has never truly accomplished anything.

"Now I gotta say here, dumbest move ever, Esteban gives up his seat at the head of the table and gives it to that nitwit Acacia, who needs to put her big girl pants on and deal".

You nailed it Madelaine! A spot-on asessment that Acacia needs to grow up and quickly. The title rang a very faint bell, thank you for saying where it came from. It was picture perfect here. Look forward to hearing your ear worm when I get home.

Thank you for doing four excellent recaps in a row! I couldn't follow this without you. I struggle to learn the characters names initially, let alone try and figure out what is going on with so little Spanish language comprehension.

I like German and wonder if he and Ana will eventually get together. She so desperately needs a break! I hope we are spared seeing Danilo for a few days so our sore eyes have a chance to heal.

Cassandra, Brandon Peniche is a favorite of many of us. I would love to see him do somethig with his father (whom I think is quite handsome and closer to my age) :)

I wonder how long it will take Acacia to thaw. You and Decie Girl have a point Sara, Acacia does share many similar traits with Aranza (less the adoring boyfriend. Well at least for now).

Madelaine, this was great. Thank you!

Diana

Mads- Another amazing job! Once again, I saw the last 15 minutes. LOL! Just enough to get the latest update on what's happening with Ana. It broke my heart when she recoiled from the priest offering to take her to a safe place because all she expects of men is that they'll take advantage of her for sex. I don't think the priest had any such intent, but he really needs to improve the way he treats someone in Ana's situation. She needed to be treated with kid gloves. She didn't need a lecture on not using the convent for escape. Thanks for the shoutout to Amorcito Corazon and Africa (Ana) having been a nun in that one. :) She's a fave actress of mine, ever since Para Volver a Amar. I had hoped it was money in the suitcase, but glad to read she got rid of the drugs. Unfortunately, Danilo's bosses are mad at him for the drug loss, which just intensifies his anger at Ana and his drive to get her.

OK. So I think Acacia is totally being unreasonable about Esteban and is being a brat. But I must say I was creeped out by the way Esteban was staring at grown up (and lovely, as he pointed out) Acacia at the dinner table and how peeved he was that she had gone off with Manuel to the river. Was he peeved because he thinks this is all part of Norberto's plan to get those two kids hitched (and their lands merged)? Or was it jealousy? Hmmmm?

In Manuel in on his dad's plan to marry him off to Acacia, or is he genuinely interested in her. Nice to see Brandon P. again, but hard to get a read on the sincerity of this character. He seems like a nice guy, buy he certainly not sensitive, with the way he just shoved whatshername out of the way when Acacia came out of the house.

Acacia pulling rank is annoying, but it was fun to see her do it to Rubio, who was also trying to pull rank.

Which actor is playing German, the artist? Hopefully, I'll catch a glimpse of him soon. Cris is a photographer. She was going out to buy film, and Acacia was asking her why she doesn't let her buy her a digital camera. Cris prefers real film. She's going to be doing a show of her photographs soon, and that's why she asked Juliana if she should invited German to show his paintings alongside her photos at her show.

This should be a question: Is Manuel in on his dad's plan to marry him off to Acacia, or is he genuinely interested in her?

Vivi:

Thank you kindly for what I missed. I think that Esteban doesn't like Norberto, never has, and probably not his sons either. The actor playing German is one of your favorites, Osvaldo de Leon. I think he really is an artist, he sure can draw. I think Manuel has always loved Acacia since they were little, but I really don't think she is into him. That's why Luisa, Rosa's granddaughter, went off with him. Luis is into him.

Vivi:

And I forgot to add this is why Esteban went off to the river.

Cassandra G.

Thank you kindly. I too don't want Luisa to end up being Acacia's frenemy. I want them to stay friends. I think BP is wearing that bouffant for this role. Normally he doesn't wear his hair this way.

Sara:

Thank you kindly. I didn't watch Por Seimpre, but Acacia is one spoiled, coddled girl. Time for her to grow up!

Anon 7:54:

Thank you kindly. Good point about Acacia and it's so true. If it hadn't been for Esteban, there would be no ranch for her to go gallivanting around.

Diana:

Thank you kindly and I too hope German winds up with poor Ana. She does deserve a break. I want her to have some happiness.

Osvaldo de Leon! He is one of my faves of the young galans. Nice. Glad to hear that Manuel is genuine in his feelings towards Acacia.

Thank you, Madelaine, you are really great for taking on so many recaps. I am truly impressed.

Vivi, I totally thought Esteban was checking out Acacia at the table and even before, when they first meet. He might not like Norberto and Manuel, but it did look like jealousy to me, too.

What I get so far from the young characters:
Acacia, Manuel and Luisa used to be best friends when they were kids. Manuel now loves Acacia, who only sees him as a friend and Luisa loves Manuel, who only sees her as a friend.
German looks a little bit older and he might get paired with Ana, who is older than Acacia.
I think Acacia's attitude will change once she sees that Esteban is a good man. For now she is a royal brat, but it's not like anyone has ever said her NO - her mother agreed to let her live with the grandparents, now Esteban is walking on eggshells around her... The girl needs a reality check and I'm sure one is coming her way.

Diana

Brandon and Arturo were together in Nina de mi Corazon although I don't remember them having any scenes together. However according to Wikipedia you may get your wish because the write up there says that Arturo will be a co-protagonist in this one. I'd love to see the two of them together, there is wealth of talent there.

Do you remember Artuto in his galan days? Talk about handsome!

Oh, and Brandon Peniche is a total babe. A little green, but with plenty of room to grow. He has some of his father's charm (I watched Arturo Peniche in many tns when he was galan material) and that certain appeal that makes me want to see him as a lead soon.
Osvaldo de Leon is good looking, too, but I'm not that crazy about him.

It's strange how the timing of things often turn out. Yesterday I was listening to talk radio on a major LA station. It has been announced that 1,400 young, some very young English girls have been raped and abused over a long period of time. From 1997 to 2013.
The things and abuse that went on were so terrible that I can't even mention the atrocities here.
1,400 abused English girls in a search bar will bring up several articles about it,

Why wasn't this reported, how could this go no for so long you ask? The rapes were reported but out of fear of being labeled a raciest {the abuse was committed by people of another race} people that knew about the abuse kept quiet. Go to the police. A few did
but even the police did nothing.

Why am I writing this? Because when I heard the terrible report yesterday I couldn't help thinking about Ana. The only difference is, Ana is a character in a novela while this was real.

Is Ana free? Well I would say yes and no. Unless she somehow get's out of Dodge, she's bound to be recognized and that picture drawing of her is bound to be seen and recognized by our wealthy
land owner villain Norberto. Poor Ana, I really feel for her. She will suffer psychological trauma for many years. I hope the by the close of this novela she will find happiness.
the gringo

Gringo- I made a comment about the happenings in England in my comment on the Monday episode. That's one of the reasons why I had to stop watching the scenes with Ana, because I had been listening to NPR all day before the episode, where they have been speaking about this atrocity in England for the last week. We know this kind of thing happens all over the world, including the US. The sex trade makes more money than the drug trade across the world, and they are often tied. The same guys trafficking drugs are the same ones trafficking children and women.

Decie Girl, thank you! I am so excited that they both might appear here! I didn't see Nina de mi Corazon...

Actually, The first time I saw Arturo was in El Nombre del Amor and I developed quite a crush on him! I would love to see some of his earlier work.

The only thing I saw Brandon in was Un Refugio para el Amor and he was wonderful! Adriana Noel, agree he has his father's charm.

Thanks again Decie Girl. Now, I'm really looking forward to the future...

Diana

Adriana Noel:

Thank you most kindly. Yes, that is what Acacia's big problem is, no one has ever told her no. Now not just Esteban, but Cris and Rosa are walking on egg shells around her. I really don't think that Acacia will like the idea of marrying Manuel. He has been her friend and she still thinks of him this way.

Decie Girl:

I don't remember the TN I saw Arturo Peniche in. But he is very handsome and a great actor. He was a tool in Pobres that's for sure. Yes, he will be in this one, but not sure when he is coming. That's why I never said he was coming.

Gringo:

Yes, I also read about this case. Whoever those cops were, they should all be fired. Some people were put on trial though. It took awhile but they went on trial. You make a good point about Ana, she really isn't free. She is however, free of Danilo for now and maybe with Acacia's help she can stay that way, until Danilo is caught or dies. I hoping Danilo dies. I wish that the Padre had found another way to give Ana shelter. I'm hoping German's sketch isn't seen by anyone. So far, German has been hiding his art work.

Gringo

I had meant to comment on the England story which I find absolutely revolting. For 16 years the police and social workers ignored the fact that little girls as young as 11 were being gang raped because THEY DIDN'T WANT TO BE THOUGHT OF AS RACISTS. How about stupid and complicit. In any even there is an organization called Not for Sale which is working to end slavery. The slave trade is right up their with arms dealing in illegal profits and sadly there is an endless supply of victims.

Sorry off my soap box and lets hope that this TN can get a PSA message about trafficking.

Madelaine

My first TN was Maria Mercedes which is the TN where AP hit it big. Fell I love with his talent and have enjoyed his wide body of work since then. Saw an interview where he said he hated galan roles and as a real actor I can believe it. They may offer lots of screen time but not a lot of challenge. He has also moved gracefully into more age appropriate roles than many of his contemporaries have.

Think I'll start taping this one so i can FF through some of the ick.

You are such a trooper for taking this on alone and what a great job.

Acacia needs to be horsewhipped, but based on VR's track record as a Goody-Two-Shoes mother I don't have high hopes for this. As to her sitting at the head of the table, I'd say "The ranch isn't yours yet, little girl."

Ana needed to get a confessional seal and a place to hide. Don't know yet whether she has a shot at becoming a nun.

Vivi---I always read all comments but for some reason I had forgotten what you wrote. The sex trade is so evil, young girls 11 &
12 years old. I don't know how people can sink so low. This has to stop. A few executions might be a good start.

I can't take it any more so on to last night's story but first---Madelaine, I am like Diana just trying to figure out all of the characters let alone the storyline
Madelaine, you're a godsend for helping so much. A lot of work I know but your name will go down in Caray, Caray! history I'm sure.

Madelaine---You made me chuckle with---Acacia needs a good boot up her but. That she does. Spoiled with a chip on her shoulder. I hope that others are right when they say that she will come around.

Looks like Norberto has a good plan to gain control of Rancho Benvenuto. I thought that he would do something evil like poison the plant seeds or the water well but I guess that he is craftier than that.

I can't wait for tonight. This is moving along well. Ana calls Acacia to ask for her help. Will she give it? 11PM, I don't care, this is getting good.
the gringo

Decie:

Yes, I had heard about that about AP. Wanting good role and not galan ones. I think he's great.

Urban:

Thank you most kindly and I agree with you about Acacia being told she doesn't own the ranch yet. She gives her Mama so little respect and why in the world, does she still believe that Esteban hasn't saved the Hacienda. She saw the evidence of it on her ride. She just believes what she wants to believe. Oh, and I think I might know who has been poisoning her against Esteban, Norberto of course, he can't stand Esteban and has made it known to anyone who will listen.

What I am itching to know is how Norberto thinks that marrying his son to Acacia puts the ranch under his control.

Nothing like that should happen without a contract and here would be a great opportunity for discussions of pre-nuptial agreements. This is where Esteban and Christina need to step up. Esteban has thus far been smart enough to see through Norberto's schemes but he will probably turn stupid for a while like most leads.

Wow, Mads, thanks for yet another great recap. I appreciate the time and effort that you are devoting to bring us recaps of this novela.

I will continue to watch my recordings of this show, but it is getting dark and depressing. Poor Ana. I cannot believe that the padre did not try to protect and help her. I suppose that her story is supposed to intertwine with Acacia's. I like German the best of all the young guys, and I hope that he and Ana will end up together. They would make a nice couple. I am glad to see that his paintings have progressed because that painting of the irises that Daddy Dearest ruined seemed to be a ripoff of Van Gogh's famous work.

As for Acacia, I agree with those who see a similarity to Aranza who hated her stepmother the same way Acacia "seems, to hate her stepfather. However, we all saw how close she was to Estebonbon when she was young...the treats he gave her. She had a major crush on him, so what we are seeing is jealousy. Yikes..If these two are going to end up together, it means that Cris must die. The idea of a daughter marrying her mother's husband is not appealing. Back

The first time I saw Arturo P. was in my very first novela Alborada. He played the leading lady's husband , and Fernando Colunga was her lover and his rival. It was a great novela. He did a spectacular backward somersault down a long outdoor staircase.

Today, I was reading an article about current movies which stated that " basic narrative coherence and causality have gone by the wayside. " At least Our beloved novelas still try to tell a story even though the plots often leaves us scratching our heads.

Diana, I appreciate you letting me know that my family is in your thoughts. How kind and thoughtful you are. Things have gotten a bit better as the courts have limited his custody to every other weekend and midweek dinners and two weeklong vacations. However, he is what he is, so.....the stress never really completely disappears. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts.

Well, I have some more laundry to do and a test to create.

Madelaine – Yul Brynner as Ramses, sigh. And who knew Robert Downey Jr. could sing? Thanks for a terrific recap.

I know it makes things even tougher for Ana, but I got kick out of her taking Danilo’s drugs by mistake instead of cash. It looked like the pure stuff before it’s diluted for sale, so should be worth a fortune. I hope Danilo’s bosses kick the crap out of him for this loss.

Ariadne Díaz rides a horse well. Cute riding outfit.

My first AP tn was Maria Jose, where he was the lead; I only saw Maria Mercedes after that and then many of his other tns. His son still looks too young to play anything other than the young galan (at least in my eyes), but soon enough he will get there).

Susanlynn, I thought I saw young Acacia crushing on Estebonbon (yes!!!), too. Right now I don't think she's jealous anymore, for now she's just pissed! If the feelings she once had for him come to light again.....

Question: what would you rather see? Acacia in love with Esteban or Acacia acting like a brat around Esteban? Hehehe

Univision's absurd censorship of sensuality continues. Last night's episode ended on a pair of close ups of Christian Meier staring off, gobsmacked; what was missing were the shots of what he was reacting to - a pair of implied nude shots of Ariadne Diaz, filmed tastefully from behind where all you see is her bare back with strategically placed plants in the foreground hiding her bum.

Acacia is a brat on steroids. I do not like her at all now. And isn't it incest if Acacia and Esteban get together? It is not a pleasant thought to me. Yuk!
Thanks Madelaine.
Romy

I apologize if the answer to this question has already been mentioned, but does anyone know where this is being filmed? I love the scenery!

Gringo:

Thank you most kindly. I too thought Norberto would have pulled something before now. Maybe he tried and Esteban was too smart for him.

Urban:

You know how these bad guys operate. They just go with it and damn the consequences later. But you are right. He can't do that. When he said that I had a good laugh.

Susanlynn:

Thank you kindly.

I am hoping next year is much better for you. I think this one will be getting better and more action. I am going to have to find Alborada. That move sounds so cool that AP did.

Niece:

Thank you kindly.

I always liked Yul Bynner. He was so cool. Robert Downey Jr. actually did a duet with Sting, it was perfect! I like the way he sings. Yes, hopefully Danilo's bosses will make him pay and keep paying. AD does ride well. In a lot of La Mujer del Vendaval she was on a horse. She was I in MEPS too, but I don't know if she rode there.

RG:

Thank you for what we missed, it boggles the mind doesn't it. They could have showed that, this TN is on late enough.

Romy:

Thank you kindly. No, it isn't considered incest. Incest is when a person of your blood has you know. This is considered poor taste and considered a social taboo.

Sara:

This is what I was able to find out about the filming of this TN. It is being filmed in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico and Tapalpa, Jalisco, Mexico.

Thanks, Mads!!
