Mi Corazón es Tuyo Lunes 8/11/14 #16
Labels: mcet
I am sure enjoying the fact that almost everyone seems to be pretty decent and the only real dangerous villain so far is Don Doroteo. Isabela and her mother just seem to be gold diggers and Ximena a "mean girl."
I really liked León not pressuring Fanny and giving her good counsel. I also likedFernando going to ask Fanny to come home.
My favorite scenes were don Fernando with Bruno and his dad Nicolás with Fernando starting with " . . and then there's Ana" recounting his cognac drinking dancing kissing interlude with Ana and at the same time Ana reminiscing about that same event with her friend. It would be nice if Fernando would take his dad's advice and go with his heart.
The scene with Isabela and her mother was good too. Yolanda, Isabela's mother announces her arrival saying she was dead like a dry leaf just like all of their bank accounts.
Will Fernando be able to resist Isabela's charms? Hmmmm.
Jarifa
I loved all your aside, especially the ones where you were mocking Johnny.
So Yolanda married Isabela's father and drained all his fortune and now she wants her daughter to marry a millionaire. From the way she talks and from Isa's illusions of grandeur I take it that Yolanda comes from the barrio, too.
She might have a history with Nicolas, but what if Bruno knows her, too, from back in the day and he will somehow expose her?
I had the feeling that Ximena kind of liked the flower, maybe she will go through some sort of a makeover, too, not only Nando.
Loved the men bonding. Bruno was particularly funny, wanting to be one of the guys, but not being able to relax because he was in front of his patron.
Fer should just let Sebas do whatever he wants, he has enough boys at home and Nando is already proving to be just like him. By the way he takes life and what one should do, I am pretty sure that Fer and his brother don't have a good relationship. He probably thinks that photography isn't a good enough job for a Lascurain.
I think that Fernando is very reluctant to risk his heart right now. He lost his beloved wife only a year ago. No grief counseling and not much talk about it with his kids. His dad is right, but it will take him probably at least sixty episodes to learn this lesson.
I've not caught up yet with this tn. I'm pleased and surprised that Fer and Ana already realize they have feelings for each other. I would not have thought it would be so soon. But what's with his snobby attitude about Isa being the right kind of woman he should be dating? It's going to be so painful when he finds out about Ana's other job.
Leon sounds like a really good guy. Glad he encouraged Fanny to return home and make peace with her father.
Ok, so I want to go back in age and date Leon. What a catch. Now of course something will happen that Fanny will think he messed with her, I'm guessing courtesy of Isa, but hopefully Fanny will realize what a good guy he is.
Isa on the other hand...well with a mother like that, explains a few things. Carmen being a gold digger is rather funny, but I find Isa's attitudes just sickening. Does Fernando not listen to what comes out of her mouth sometimes?
Just make Johnny go away. I know they won't but I really dislike this character.
Daisynjay
But I think we're stuck with Johnny for a while.
Also, just a little correction. the one that told Fanny that her dad had said that he was afraid Leon would hurt her was Leon, not Fanny. Fer told him at the office.
And that too was the reason Fernando is reluctant to have a relationship with Ana. He told Bruno and Nic that he could really go for Ana, but if they started a relationship and for some reason it would not work out, they would have hurt all 7 of his 'blessings'. And this is why he is trying to convince himself that Isa is the best choice.
LOVED LOVED his describing to them the scene with Ana, with the drinking, the dancing and the kiss. His charade of the 'dance' was absolutely irresistible... his facial expression and his describing what he 'felt'. sigh!.
I agree that Leon is doing the right thing with Fanny (by the way, he did not tell her he was a virgin too, he just said 'I love you with all my heart'). When he lowered her to the bed I began talking to myself 'wrong move, boy! you are trying to show her and her father that you are decent... this is NOT decent...'. I was so relieved when she pulled away and he was totally ok with that.
Loved that Fanny gave Leon credit for having convinced her to return home.
Poor Nando... I am afraid the 'phone call' in the previews is about him and the car... and it had to break up the 'almost kiss' scene...
but it is a good thing that Ana realizes she is in love and Fernando realizes at least that Ana is the one that 'le mueve el piso', and not Isabela.
Loved how he told Bruno and Nic that after getting horizontal with Isabela they thought he felt happy and he said 'i felt guilty!'
how Nic and Bruno were uncomfortable (great acting on both Don Rene and Don Rafa Inclan) as Fernando was surprising them with opening his heart and soul in his description... and Nic's comment about him thinking with his head instead of with his heart was spot on without imposing anything on him.
Maybe Sebas should be allowed to take the dance lessons. He can only improve, and they may save him from some future public humiliation.
Yes, Fanny may have reconciled with Papi, but we all know she returned home for the clean bathroom!
I love the wit of the tn writers when they had Ana compare her and Fer's kiss to one in a tn. They pay tongue-in-cheek homage to the play-within-a-play trope, acknowledging the audience's/our role in the grand production. Well done!
Ana had that lovely scene with Nando... and even gave him her blessing when he was headed out even though he said he was going to take a taxi (we all know he took Fanny's car)... she even made the sign of the cross on his shoulders as if she were his mom... and he took it in stride, no indication of rejection from him at all, he actually smiled.
Also at breakfast table, when Fernando said he needed to spend more time with his kids, the twins yelled stte of 'now we will get to go to XX (some amusement park)' and Nando yelled 'no, to the YYY museum!!' and Fernando said 'sure! why not both??'
“After The kid is disappointed [but we're not]” and “Isabimbo” were among my favorites…
I'm enjoying all the couples (except Fer and "Isabimbo" of course) and am too Marta they didn't take things too far!
The comments today are simply great.
Thanks again UA. You mastered double duty exceptionally, as always.
Diana
It would definitely be interesting if she also ended up being Ana's mother.
'It would definitely be interesting if she also ended up being Ana's mother.' NOOOOO!!! Ana doesn't deserve that!! bring back the 'wrong Maria!!' have her come back and live with Ana and Jen!!
Good golly can anyone be more creepy crawly than Ana & Lola's pimp? I so want her to complete her metamorphosis.
Juan - snooze you lose
Bruno - shootin bull with my bros
Yolanda - your mirror has been lying to you
Leon - on what planet are you not spoken for already
Fanny - glad to be in hot water
Fernando - one step forward and two back
Ximena - cootie protection
Isabela - aspiring desperate housewife
Nic - even with the decade money knocks off you're still too old for her
Nando - ignoring the obvious doesn't make it go away
I was hoping the Fan and Leon wouldn’t do it since I felt it would have been a betrayal of Fer. Fer trusted Leon to take care of his “little girl” and wouldn’t appreciate that they made love while she was staying with Leon.
What did the note say that Nico gave to Jen?
Who is the actress in the credits with the long bangs?
Nanette
I doubt that Isa's mother will turn out to be Ana's mother. Ana describes her mother as a nice woman who plays the guitar, and I don't see that being Isa's mother. I wish they could have cast an actress who looked more believably like she could pass as Isa's mother. This woman can't be more opposite looking from her.
So funny when Fernando told Bruno and Nico that he told Ana it was a mistake and they both we like 'what!?!' And later when NIco tells Ana that he likes to have a glass of cognac as a way to enjoy life, and she says under her breath and as a way to enjoy a kiss, lol.
I hope Nando goes through an ugly-duckling-to-swan metamorphosis soon and finds a nice novia (or even some amigos with whom he can socialize!).
Bruno - shootin bull with my bros
(my fav overall, those three 'amigos' could hang out together as bff's anyday)
Yolanda - your mirror has been lying to you (tell me about it!)
Leon - on what planet are you not spoken for already
(if only i were about 30 yrs younger but just as smart as now)
I think the other young girl with the bangs in the beginning credits will somehow come in between Leon and Fanny. The beginning credits song seems to have several 'love triangles' with the characters standing side by side...
Ana-Fer-Isa
Johny-Ana-Fer
Fanny-Leon-(That girl)
Jennifer-Nico-Yolanda
then there's the lose characters like Lisardo (is he meant to replace Johnny when he and the whole set of characters from the club go away?
I concur with all about the great scene between Fernando, Bruno and Nico. Very smartly done by all.
I got a big kick out of Ana taking the kids out of Leon's apartment -- the major-general with the heart of gold. Had to laugh when Luz was imitating Ana giving them a lecture.
Interesting to see how the chance meeting between the two mismatched couples ends tonight. Great observation, Martivett, about whether Lisardo will replace Johnny at some point in Ana's life. We have a long way to go still.
Somehow I just don't feel good about the relationship between Nico and Jennifer. He's too old. I hated seeing him kiss her.
I was so happy for Nando the way Ana hugged him when he was going out. I was even happy how nice Ximena was with the flower he gave her. He's such a nice young man.

I don't think Leon really owes Fernando anything regarding Fanny's sex life or lack thereof, but I do think that holding off is a better strategy. I'm glad he talked her into making up with her dad and going home. I wish Fanny would stop trying to claim that Fer thinks Leon isn't good enough because he's poor, when Fer NEVER said that, but I think maybe she heard him this time when he said he doesn't think that and Leon seems like a good guy.
Fanny should hire a daily bathroom cleaner for the boardinghouse to thank Leon for his kindness and hospitality.
I can see Fer's dilemma regarding getting involved with Ana. If they get together and then things go badly, that would be devastating for the kids. HOWEVER, I do not see why that means he should consider Isabela. He knows perfectly well that he isn't that into Isabela. Why are telenovela characters always like, "well if I can't have the one I want, I'll take whatever's offered first"? Keep looking (while working on accepting that Ana is the one)! There are more options in the world! Isa is a barnacle and you already KNOW that the kids are unhappy about her!
Given the choice between
a: date Ana, things MIGHT go badly and the kids will be upset, and
b: date Isabela, and DEFINITELY upset the kids,
c: don't date either of them for the time being, kids are fine, look for someone less of a barnacle to have fun with if you feel the need
it seems pretty stupid to choose b.
I have a hard time buying Yolanda as a high-stakes golddigger. I do like how she rattles Isabeyotch, though. I kind of hope Isa tries to break Leon and Fan up, thinking this will get in her good with Fer, and then it backfires spectacularly because Fer likes Leon now.
Dim was reeling from the intensity of the incident.
He had no knowledge that Fina had decided not to marry A. on her own.
He saw her disconsolate on the ground, and he believed that he was the one that stopped the wedding.
For a long time, Dim believed that Fina had a relationship with Adolfo when one did not exist.
I categorize his remark more like that of an awkward teenager, more like that of a Lost Boy. He saw the devastation of Fina, and he was thinking of her feelings before he fled to his house to reflect and process all that occurred. For a long time, he has felt that Fina doesn't like him, and now he thinks she hates him.
He thought of Fina first, and after all he had been through, that was the best he could do.
He was sorry that he had hurt her.
I think I'll stick around for this one for various reasons:
* First and foremost: Silvia Navarro.
* The basic Sound-of-Music set-up is cute and watchable, while the pole-dancing angle has already added some fun scenes. (Fernando and "Lola," particularly.)
* While I haven't got into Jorge Salinas in other TNs, this role seems to be made for him. His reactions are excellent, and he and Silvia Navarro match up nicely.
* I like most of the children (but the younger boys less so) and look forward to seeing their storylines develop.
* I don't find Johnny as annoying as a lot of people do--he serves the function in the plot he's supposed to serve. (But I do find Manuela's sexual harassment of Bruno hugely annoying and am glad there's been none of that for the last few episodes.)
* The beefcake (Pablo Montero) hasn't really arrived yet, and things can only get more interesting once he does.
