La Malquerida #23: 9/24/14: Who is Chantajeing Who?
Hola Amiguis! This is another short and sweet recap. I think I got everything. Here is the earworm. Dirty Laundry
Shall we begin?
Este is being pissy and wants to leave. Cris convinces him to stay, it's the last day of their honeymoon. Este was thinking of taking a private plane. So the upshot is that Este is staying, there's a good boy, and they kiss.
Oh, look Norbie is hitting the bottle, I wonder why. A little riddled with guilt are we? German comes in, wondering where he's been. Norbie tries to say that Manuel's injuries are due to Uli. Yeah, blame the other guy! Now Norbie is thinking this will work to Manuel's advantage. I love German, Mr. Big Sexy! He tells his deluded Papa never happen.
Such a small man. I can't wait till they catch your butt.
Ale and Luisa are talking about what else, Manuel! Ale tries to tell Luisa that Manuel is focusing on getting well.
The ne'er do wells that would be Memo and Rubio going in search of more, well you know. Little Jules greets Rubio. In comes Norbie, sees Rubio and is sweating bullets.
Manuel's anger is an equal opportunity lashout, cause Jules is trying to get him to eat. He throws the tray at her and tells her to get the freak out.
Shut Up. We used to like you but now you are on our last nerve. It's time to put the Big Boy Pants on and grow a pair of Avocadoes. And to manipulate Acacia, for shame. And to diss your Mama. That's pie cart territory.
Back at the House of Happy Endings. Rubio tells Norbie he won't say a word about him being at the House of Happy Ending and Rubio goes. Norbie is all over Little Jules.
Rubio has taken Luisa to school where she cracks him right across the face for something I didn't catch. Her new friends from school wonder what that was all about.
Cris, Este, and Acacia have come home and all of them cry at the damge that was done. Este would like to go inside the bodega (store house) but Acacia warns him it's dangerous. But Cris, Este and Acacia go in anyways. Cris said they did all this work and it's gone.
Jules is still at the hospital and Elena has come by. Jules tells Elena that Manuel is not doing well.
Cris, the half full glass type of woman, reminds Este of the prior bad times. They got through them and they will get through this too. All three of them love this land and will fight for it. Group hug.
Ulises is talking to Juan Carlos. He has an idea to rebuild this bodega so this type of damage doesn't happen again. Juan Carlos tells Cris that Elena went to the hospital to find out about Manuel. All of them thank Uli for saving Manuel and Acacia.
Oh, here is the really good part. Este asks Juan Carlos what happened while they were gone. Juan Carlos, bless his heart, tells Este he thinks it was Norbie that started the fire. There is a mention of one Hilario Gonzles. I think he worked for Norbie. The workers knew that there was all that cotten in the bodega and there was supposed to be security on it and there wasn't. Why was that?
You are getting warmer big guy. Go after that putz and make him pay. He's overdue.
German comes and asks Norbie since he hasn't seen Manuel is he going to work at the Association. Oh yeah and what about these cigs, where did they come from, does Norbie smoke now. Well Jules has made Norbie and bundle of nerves and he takes those ciggies and lights right up.
German, do you actually believe your faux Papa? Keep digging.
Cris and Jules and Acacia have a talk at the hospital. Jules tells them Manuel not doing well, and Cris reminds Jules they are paying Manuel's hopsital bill. Jules is grateful.
Rubio and Memo are in town and Rubio is inserting his foot in his mouth, as far as Norbie goes. Memo warns him again, he better not be talking about any person he sees at Perls and Dans.
Manuel is on my last nerve. Acacia goes in to see him and now he's blaming her too. He's not happy to see her, he can't move his hand, his arm hurts. She said he ran in there to save her, but now he thinks she wants him to die., thats what Manuel thinks. Acacia asks if he is crazy. She understands it's hard for him, but she isn't coming back to him. Now Manuel wants to die. Acacia tells him she will be with him for the healing process. She wants Manuel to be happy and heal.
Jules is very mad at Norbie, her Papa is sick and Jules recently ran into the love of her life, Cris is like say what? Yeah, the real Papa of German, when German comes up behind her, but he didn't hear her. Jules and German and Jules thanks Cris.
So who is this now? Her name is Nuria and she comes as Uli is working. Seems she does work in promotions and can sell the space in no time. Hmmm.....
Norbie is on the phone with somone and tells them Whatever you need let me know, I'm your man. I wonder if this is the guy he sold the cotten to.
Jules comes home and berates Norbie for not having gone to see Manuel. When in comes the bane of Norbie's existence. Jules is pissy and I think Rubio aks if Norbie could control his wife. Rubio has come by to talk bidnez with Norbie, and Jules is pissy cause he didn't use the servents entrance and he also didn't say con su permisso Senora. Jules does go off and so does Rubio for the time being.
Cris and Este and Cris says they are so going to rebuild that bodega. Acacia is going with Este to do the rounds of the Association. Este really doesn't feel it is necessary for Acacia to come, well we know why, but Cris is concerned Este is trying to shut her out, no that isn't it, but you are getting warm. Anyways, Cris feels that Manuel is trying to chantaje (blackmail) Acacia into getting back with him. Cris doesn't want Manuel to have any illusions about Acacia.
Uli has come by and tells Acacia about Nuria the promoter. Ale is happy Acacia is back and Rosa takes them off.
We are now back to Norbie and Rubio. Rubio says he won't say a word about Norbie and the house of happy endings. I think Rubio is crossing his hands behind his back. Norbie is throwing some cash at Rubio, who promptly drops the cash and goes, who knew????
Este and Acacia go off on their rounds.
Dans and Perls and she is massaging his face. She tooks like she wants to put him in the hurt locker.
Cris and Juan Carlos have a talk and Juan Carlos feels Manuel is a manipulater. Juan Carlos tells Cris about the fire investigation.
Este and Aacia have come to the Association. German assures Acacia that fire wasn't her fault. He knows this is bad for Este and he thanks Acacia for her support of Manuel.
Este has bearded Norbie in the Association office and asks him about Hilario Gonzales. Norbie swears, I think he's crossing his fingers behind his back too, that Hiliario he hasn't seen in years, last he heard he was in Guatemala. I wonder if Hilario was the one that started that rock slide on Alonso. Anyhoo, Este asks about why there was no security on his Bodega the night of the fire. Why was that? Norbie is looking ill.
AVANCES:

So exactly who is this Nuria? In the promos, I thought it was Acacia. Hmmm. Somewhat similar types. Coincidence? Consolation prize?
It seems inevitable that the fire is only going to serve to bring Esteban and Acacia closer. She is riddled by guilt and of course wants to be part of the healing and rebuilding process. Unfortunately, that will bring her in even closer proximity to Esteban. I'm hoping Cris stays involved to the point where there will be no opportunity for anything to happen.
Acacia, please stop hugging Esteban! Esteban, please, continue to talk with Acacia, but be sure Cris is present. Precautions are now mandatory.
Rubio is not clever enough to engage in blackmail. I would not underestimate Memo either who would likely not flinch if orderted to "act" if told Rubio was a loose cannon. Which he is.
Manuel is hatin' everyone. He needs to get a grip. I'm glad that Acacia told him they would not get back together.
Este is on the right track. I hope he continues to put the pieces together and prove Norberto guilty.
The cigarette smoking scene struck me as funny. German believed him as much as we did! :)

Of course Cris wants Acacia to regain her confidence by helping Esteban straighten out the cotton fiasco, and Acacia wants to learn the ropes.
I'm not sure what El Rubio is up to with Norberto. He knows full well that what happens in the ho-house stays in the ho-house. Rubio let Norberto know that he kept mum about Manuel's lie against Ulises (though we know Rubio told Este). I was wondering if Rubio visited Norberto because he suspects Norberto started the fire. If Rubio didn't visit Norberto for money, what did he want? Did he not take the money because Norberto dissed him by throwing the money on the ground?
I enjoyed the scene between Danilo and Perla. I laughed at the exaggerated looks (both turned their necks like cranes) to watch Rubio leave the ho-house after Danilo said it was best he skedaddle since Norberto had showed up. Perla massaging the heck out of Danilo’s head and shoulders was a hoot. Anybody needing a laugh should check out this scene.

Thanks, Mads, for another fun recap and for the ear worm. I love that song. I have it on a cd, and I heard Don Henley ding it in a concert he did with Stevie Nicks.
I got a big kick out of Damdan getting that head massage.
I am afraid that Este and Acacia are being pushed together, and I fear for Uli now that Norbert is gunning for him. Norb has killed before. Yikes I like Uli. Every time I see him , I think about him dancing on one of the Sunday Bailando shows on Uni. He did not last long, so I guess dancing is not his strong suit.

It't so nice to see the actress playing Nuria as a successful business woman. She wears it much better than servant or humble cigarette girl. I like it.
