EN OTRA PIEL – LUNES – Part 1

Again we hear the wedding march and see Elena descending the stairs. The groom looks away, as does everyone else. Elena’s happy smile fades. It’s Mondriana, in a fabulous blue dress accompanied by Jorge!

At the table where Emiliana is sitting she remarks to Marta, Ricardo, and Camila that her wish has been granted. Moni is here and she looks spectacular. Emi says this is even better than Elena falling down the stone stairs! Emi says: “Look at her envious face!” Marta says that Mondriana looks like a movie star. Mondriana goes to sit with Selma and Eileen at their table.

Gerardo tears his eyes away from Mondri and belatedly looks at the bride. Emi pretends to nod off. We get a lot more chances for Gerardo to back out than is customary in a wedding. First the minister (later they say minister, not priest) asks if the two are there of their own free will, and then he asks if there’s any reason why the ceremony should not be performed. Gerardo looks like he’d like to scream: “Stop! I don’t want to marry this ghastly witch!”

At the pensión Maite, Valeria and Eddie clean up the kitchen after breakfast. Maite wonders why Diego would go to Elena and Gerardo’s wedding. Eddie says he has no clue.

Marta’s left the ceremony to start things in the kitchen for the reception. Rodrigo is there, dressed to the nines, and she thanks him for helping out. Marta says her stomach is in knots. Elena appears obsessed. Marta says she’s asked for the very same food to be served and the exact same minister as when Gerardo married Mónica Serrano! [Marta looks gorgeous with her makeup and lovely dress.] Marta tells Rod that Gabriel called, and he and Jennifer are in San Francisco and settled in.

At the pensión Eddie tells Valeria that he’s not normally a romantic sort of guy, but she’s caused him to let down his guard. He’s nuts about her.

Back to the big wedding. Elena, with a few canary feathers showing: Sí, acepto. Guess we missed the minister reciting vows to her, but we get to hear them recited to Gerardo. And we get the standard long, long pause when one of the two being married is quite reluctant. The minister: ¿Señor Fonsi? Emi chortles, mostly quietly, that it looks like the groom changed his mind. Gerardo: Sí, acepto.

Elena interrupts the minister as he’s about to say “by the power vested in me…” She says that, before continuing with the traditional ceremony, she and Gerardo want to say in front of all the people who love them, their special vows. Emi groans. Elena: “I always dreamed of a man who thinks of me before anything else and you, my love, have demonstrated a million times that you’re the man I’ve been waiting for.”
 

EN OTRA PIEL – LUNES – Part 2

Emi starts to cough and choke. Cami jumps up calling for a doctor, and Ricardo pushes Emi toward the house. She looks back over her shoulder and winks at Mondriana. Elena recovers and says that she just wanted to add that the most beautiful part of everything is the proof that she’s the woman of Gerardo’s life. She tells him it’s his turn now.

Valeria tells Eddie that she never thought she’d want a man to kiss and embrace her, but she does feel that about him.

At the mansion Emi confesses to Marta, Camila and Ricardo that she almost threw up con tanta cursilería (corny sentimentalism). She goes on to suggest that they get a hose and spray the pair with water. Cami tries to be serious and reprove her sister but ends up laughing.

Back to the vows. Elena should have coached the groom. She beams up at him expectantly. “Tell everyone, my love, how much you love me. Don’t be shy.” Gerardo looks like he swallowed a fly. He says that she knows he’s doing this to please her. (Faint wooing, indeed.) He goes on to say that he only wants to create a home with her and their child. [Hmm. Guess he doesn’t mind announcing to all the rich guests that she’s expecting – or he thinks she is.] Then: “I love you”, he says through slightly clenched teeth.

Back at the pensión Eddie is moving a bit too fast for Valeria. Seeing her alarm, Eddie says it’s normal she’d be afraid because of what happened. He says he’ll wait as long as it takes. She tells him she was a virgin when she was raped. She has never made love. She has mixed feelings. She’s afraid, but she also wants to know what it would be like to make love with someone who loves her. Eddie assures her that he does.

The ghastly wedding is finally over. Mondriana looks like, in spite of everything, this has hurt her.

Eileen comes into the kitchen where Rick, Cami and Emi are enjoying the respite from the wedding. Eileen says she plans to nominate Emi for an Oscar. And she assures her that everyone else at the party thought she was really choking, but Eileen could tell. Eileen and Emi have a barrel of fun insulting Elena. Eileen says she’s an hígado (pain in the neck). Emi: with onions. Eileen: with kidneys in oil sauce! Ricardo agrees and says that Camila is the only one who hasn’t realized how bad Elena is.

Mondriana tells Selma and Jorge that she made her entrance at the perfect time, when the wedding march played. The three of them make fun of how stunned Elena and Gerardo were. Just then Lorena comes up to snarl sarcastically at Mondriana. She goes on to tell Mondriana to leave, that she wasn’t invited. And that her entrance was a provocation. [Lorena should have learned by now that she’s not dealing with the same meek governess as before.] Mondriana: “It doesn’t matter to me if my arrival bothered you or if my presence does. I’m here for Camila and Emiliana. For them this wedding is a huge betrayal, something you very well know. You should have been the one supporting your nieces but you let them lose because you put your daughter ahead of them. [Actually she used alcahuetear (procuring)] It’s one of those ISBIS things. [It sounds better in Spanish.]
 

EN OTRA PIEL – LUNES – Part 3

Mondri goes on to say to Lorena: “I told you this at the hospital, but I’ll repeat it here in front of everyone. You let your sister down. She put her children in your hands, Lorena, and you failed her.” Lorena turns tail and runs. [I could watch Mondri go after Lorena for hours!]

We see Diego arriving with a box. He goes into the storage shed where the other entrance to the secret room can be found.

Back to the kitchen of the mansion where Emi swears she didn’t invite Mondriana. Marta is worried about what Elena might do. Emi’s just sorry no one got a recording of Elena’s face when Mondri arrived!

We see Mondriana walking along a path on the mansion property. She’s crying. Diego comes up behind her and tells her that that rat doesn’t deserve even half a tear!. Mondri says she isn’t crying for him, but for the woman who believed his promises of love. Diego tells her she looks beautiful. She looks at him tenderly and tells him that she’s going to tell Selma that, after she’s gone, she should give Adriana the blue dress. He should take Adriana somewhere romantic, dance all night, drink champagne, and celebrate their happiness. She then asks if he brought what she asked. He says he did, and she says she’ll send him a signal.

Elena tells Lorena to smile no matter what happens. She also tells Lorena she doesn’t trust Adriana. She just talked with her to limar asperezas (smooth things over) with her cousins.

Gerardo has come into the garden area to confront Mondriana. He’s still jealous. He asks her why she came with Jorge Larrea. “Does Diego know, or did you dump him for a millionaire?” Mondriana: “Look who’s talking! Aren’t you the guy who made his living seducing women twice his age?” Gerardo says he knows why she came in the way she did – to see if he’d end things with Elena at the very last minute. He says once again that he married Elena to protect Mondriana and the girls. Mondriana: “Show me how much you love me! Let’s leave right now, right out the front door and go to the ends of the earth.” She keeps taunting him, almost kisses him. Then, with scorn, she tells him he’s a coward. “In this same house, in front of these same people, you swore eternal love to Mónica Serrano.” He says that he did love Mónica. And that he doesn’t feel anything for Elena. Mondriana says: “I know what you feel for me, and so does Elena. Elena figured it out by the way you couldn’t stop looking at me when I arrived.

Maite has come to La Malquerida to tell Martín that she’s going to be very busy running the pensión and helping Valeria start a food business. So she can’t work there any more. Martín is very happy for her. Maite notices Anselmo in the corner quite bruised and battered. Martín says it’s the price for leaving the gang. Later Maite tends to his wounds a bit.
 

EN OTRA PIEL – LUNES – Part 4

Mariana from the Larrea office, who exists only to reveal secrets, says she saw Mondriana at the office the other day and Gerardo asked her to leave them alone. Elena starts looking for Gerardo and is intercepted by Jorge. He congratulates her on her marriage. As she starts to move away, he takes hold of her arm and says he’d like to believe she’ll keep her word about leaving the house when the reception is over. We see a very smug smile on Elena’s face and she doesn’t answer.

A process server has brought a summons for Lorena to sign. It’s to appear regarding the custody of a minor.

Gerardo tells Mondriana they’re in this situation because of her. He asked her a thousand times to go away with him but it was Camila this and Emiliana that, so he tells her not to complain now. She says she’s not complaining at all. She thinks it’s great he married that hyena! He grabs her and tells her to admit that she’s jealous. Mondriana: “Let me go or I’ll scream!”

Whoops. Elena has come up behind Gerardo. She’s cool as a cucumber. She tells Mondri it won’t be necessary to scream. She knows what’s going on here. She says the two of them were not exactly discreet, disappearing from the party at the same time.

Wow. She’s going to brazen it out. She tells Gerardo that he doesn’t need to explain. She knows that Mónica has been hurt by their wedding and has sought him out one last time. Mondriana: “No. You’re mistaken. Gerardo sought ME out to complain about my coming here with Jorge, something that I didn’t understand since I’m a free woman and Gerardo is a happily married man. [Whoa!] Elena’s face doesn’t quite crack when she smiles. She coolly says that things are complicated for the three of them, but Gerardo married HER. “Shall we cut the wedding cake, my love.”

Lorena goes to her bedroom, opens up the summons, whines some, and then starts drinking. This should be fun!

Diego has installed what look like speakers in the secret room. [I think this is why the writers bothered with showing Elena having workers closing off the way to the secret room. She doesn’t know about the other entrance.]

Elena and Gerardo are cutting the cake. Diego gets a text: ¡Ahora!

And we hear the sound of Mónica Serrano playing classical music. Elena completely loses it. “What the hell is that?” Gerardo: “Don’t look at me!” And, of course, Mondriana is right there in sight. Elena starts to shriek. “It’s the piano of Mónica Serrano!”

I really don't get the small chit-chat like with Emi and Eileen and so your comments make the story so much better.

and wow, I missed the part where Elena set up the wedding to be exactly like Mónica Serrano's.

I guess I never really got how much Monica loved Geraldo, her looks at him while Elena snatches him away, especially when he says 'Sí, acepto', I wasn't expecting at all, only contempt for his betrayal, not hurt and loss.

it seemed kind of creepy when she told Diego to have Adriana dress like her and go celebrate, so I guess that didn't come out right.

I didn't recognize Mariana (the secretary) at the wedding until someone mentioned her name.

nice touch with the piano music, but I liked everyone's suggestion better, that Monica sits down and plays, maybe with glowing red eyes locked onto Elena.

Novelera great recap. Thanks for all the little Spanish-isms and translations! I always learn a lot. That's one of the reasons your recaps are so fun.

Well, it lools like I might get my full-blown Elena melt down scene. I sure hope so, and at her wedding - how fun (of course, I was sort of expecting it). Girl, I say let the loca fly!! I sure hope it was worth the wait.

Yes, for me that was the most striking motif of the episode: Gerardo is offered one opportunity after another to redeem himself; but in the end, he fails to do so.

I thought the Monopoly game in the kitchen was kind of fun.

I guess I've seen too many Univision novelas because I kept thinking that Diego was carrying a box of those well-trained rats. Whew. Speakers! Much better. More effective and lots nicer, esthetically. :)

Here are a few things that I got out of last night's episode. I miss a lot and sometimes misconstrue what is said, so please add and/or correct anything.

Monica told Lilo that if AC didn't start blackmailing Vicky; she was going to take charge of it and start the process.

The Governor sent someone to help Vicky depose Garnica from his position as Antidrug General. Leo was going along to fire him.

Lai and Inaki left to go to Columbia after AC only offered them 2.5 Mil for the club. Helga is now in charge. Mirolinda told Chema that Lai left, and he, in turn, told Tijares, who is waiting in the wings to kill her.

Victor pretended to go on a movie shoot with Irma, then got away to hail a taxi for the airport. Before he left, Alba asked what was in the bag; he showed her the money from Monica. She gave him her blessing.

AC sent Saul to kill Santiago, while Ximena and Luzma were coming to talk to him. Ximena forgot Ruti's backpack, and went back to get it, but she was right in the middle of the crossfire that hit Santiago, so she was shot also. Saul told AC everything went wrong and that they took her to the hospital; AC told Ruti that Chema was responsible for the whole thing.

Ignacio found the driver of Danilo's truck that Monica took to the mall. He had a bullet in his head, so they didn't find out any more information.

At the hospital, Ximena was calling for Santiago, as AC held her hand. Luzma told Ruti she saw what happened.

It's coming down to the wire now!

Thanks for the great recap, Novelera! I liked all the Spanish, too because I was watching with the English titles on.

The scene with Gerardo trying to choke out some personal vows was hysterical. Elena should have written some for him and just handed him a card.

If Gabriel and Jennifer are in SF, I guess they've escaped Elena's vengeance with the baby intact - unless they come back for some reason.

Isn't getting a little old for Elena to come unhinged when she hears Mónica playing the piano? This has happened so many times. I know it's her wedding and she wanted it to be perfect but that ship already sailed when Mondriana waltzed in with Jorge.

Thanks, Novelera, for your thorough recap. I missed a week while on vacation but I was able to read the recaps and jump right in. Perhaps I'll only watch the episode that shows what happened to Jenny.

Gerardo is only taking up space and I'm starting to wonder if one of the other commenters was right when suggesting that the marriage is not for legal protection, but instead is how Elena (try to) claim the Serrano money and property after she kills him.

The last time I saw Vanessa Vilella was in Una Maid in Manhattan and she was also exposed and hysterical on her wedding day. Can't wait to see she freaks out today. Along with her mother's alcoholism it should be quite the wedding spectacle.

Love how Emi and Cami are becoming good friends with Eileen. Cami is definitely less uptight when around her. And although I'm not a fan of Jorge, if he and Selma get together, they'll all be one big family.

Linda, thanks, great recap! Here are a few additions.

Garnica isn't dead! The bad news for him is that 1) he's been removed as head of the anti-drug unit, replaced by Rodrigo Rivera, and young guy who wears camouflage outfits and bullet proof gear, 2) he's under arrest. Leo and Rodrigo arrest him at Villa Catalina. He realizes that Helga set him up, and vows revenge. Helga also finds out that Leo is the one who killed her boyfriend Bert.

Even though AC has tried to make it look as if Chema shot at Santiago and Ximena, his strange behavior had Rutila very suspicious. And when Xime wakes up, she says the following. Santiago? Oh, it's you, don't touch me! It was you, right?

Alba calls Irma to tell Victor that Xime was shot, but Vic has already hitchhiked off, and throws his phone in the lake.

Ignacio tells Ana that the fact that Juanito was delivered in the van in front of the police building with a bullet in his head is very suspicious. They have to solve this connection with Danilo. Vicky's life could be at stake! But they can't come out personally, because they're both wanted for arrest.

Chacorta doesn't like the fact that Memo was going to betray Pepe. He calls Memo, says I love you're idea, I'm going to send one of my guys to get the business started. But really, he tells Muffles to send a guy named Negro to KILL Memo.

Tijeras is so happy that Chema has given him the green light to kill Lai that he 1) offers the first guard to bring her to him a huge reward, and 2) offers the babes at the pool $20,000 if they can swim the length of the pool underwater :)

Chacorta tells Alba that he, she, Victor, Carlitos and Irma should escape to Spain and start a new life. Alba knows this is stupid, since the only way to be safe is to escape from HIM (Chacorta).

Andrews tells Chema that the DEA was behind all sorts of illegal drug stuff and killing, and it was really convenient that the former President's cousin Garza was in with them. He says you have to have cold blood, but Lai doesn't. That's when Chema says ok, let's kill her.

Monica wants to tell Vicky the truth, but Lilo doesn't, wants to be faithful to AC, since that's who pays him.

En Otra Piel – Martes – Parte Uno

I will not be able to do my usual recap on Thursday so Novelera has graciously agreed to do it for me. I am doing a recap of last night’s capitulo – If a ghost is invited to the wedding, does it need to bring a gift?

Wedding

The very loud, discordant piano music seems to be everywhere. Elena is losing it. Although I have heard much worse music at wedding receptions, the guests all flee holding their ears. Susana urges them to stay and have cake but in vain. Elena accuses the only people who have stuck around - her family- of turning on the music. Then Elena accuses her go-to perpetrator - Adriana. Demurely Adriana says that she obviously didn’t do it since she was the wedding the whole time and she doesn’t know why Elena is accusing her. Mondriana suggests that maybe the guilty party is not among the living. Emi pipes up and says that her mom is producing the music because she is mad at Elena for betraying her. Elena then accuses Emi of being responsible for the music. Susana tells Elena that all the guests are gone.

Lorena is up in her room drinking, rocking back and forth and asking forgiveness of Mónica and begging her to stop the music. Then she staggers downstairs saying that she couldn’t do what Mónica had asked her to do. She couldn’t defend her. She says that Mónica was a mother too and she knows what we do for our children. Elena tells her to be quiet. Mondriana takes Emi out onto the patio and asks her not to provoke Elena.

Elena tells her mother to leave but Lorena replies that she wants to be present when Mónica comes to settle accounts.

Mondriana send Diego a text to stop the music. Gerardo says that he wants to go upstairs but Cami asks what Lorena meant when she said that she had betrayed Mónica.

Elena brings Lorena to her room. Lorena says that Mónica is punishing them – Elena for killing her and her for protecting Elena. Elena tells her to shut up. Lorena replies that her conscience can’t take any more. Then Elena finds the summons for Lorena to testify at the custody hearing. She realizes that Jorge is trying to get custody of Emi and with Elena drunk he will probably succeed. Elena demands that Lorena retain custody of Emi so that she can watch her and punish her for what she did today.

Gerardo wants to go upstairs to Elena but Cami asks him why the music upset Lorena so much more than everyone else. Why was Lorena talking about betraying Mónica?

 

En Otra Piel – Martes – Parte Dos

Elena seems to have gotten control of herself. She asks how Mónica is going to punish Lorena – bang on the piano all night? Lorena says that Emi is just a little girl; she can’t be prudent in what she says. Elena replies that that is too bad. She tried to be nice to Emi and look what happened – she spoiled the most important day of her life. Now she will pay. Lorena begs Elena to let Jorge get custody of Emi and take her out of Elena’s life. Elena says that if Jorge gets custody of Emi, shemight not only be paralyzed from the waist down. She tells a horrified Lorena that she is poisoning Emi with a sophisticated poison. She controls whether Emi walks again, dies or is paralyzed from the neck down. Gerardo is banging on the door outside. Elena warns Lorena not to say anything to Gerardo about the poison.

Emi asks if Mondriana has something going on with Jorge. Mondriana laughs and replies that they are only friends. Emi fantasizes that if Mondriana married Jorge and he got custody, they could all live happily together. Mondriana says that she doesn't have to marry Jorge to make sure that nothing comes between her and Emi [except the soul in the wrong body problem].

Rodrigo asks if it didn't seem like Elena was trying to shut Lorena up. Marta, Eileen and Ric agree.

Marta says that she heard this music a long time ago when Elena was Emi's age. Mónica had told Elena that she couldn't go to a party. Mónica was having a recital that night at the house and Elena ruined it by putting that music on during the recital. Marta wonders if Monica's spirit can't rest because of Elena and Gerardo betrayal.

Cami apologizes to Mondriana for blaming her about what had happened before. Mondriana is gracious. She just asks Cami to take of her sister.

At the La Malquerida bar, Maite patches up Anselmo’s wounds. She mentions the money that he stole from her and Valeria when they first came to LA. [Maite and Valeria stole that money from Carlos’ brothel but whatever.] Maite and Valeria were going to use the money to open a café. Anselmo is paying them back in installments. Maite tells Anselmo that she will give him a chance to become an upright guy.

Back at the Serrano house, Elena and Lorena come downstairs apologize for all that happened.. Cami asks Lorena why she said such strange things. Elena answers that Lorena is upset because she thinks Monica wouldn't like that she and Gerardo are together. Cami asks Lorena to answer herself. Why did she say that she had betrayed Mónica? What had she done? After some hesitation, Lorena responds that she was referring to Mónica being upset that Elena and Gerardo were getting married. She then says that she is very tired and needs to rest.

Mondriana calls Diego and tells him everything went well. She thanks him for what he did. Diego packs up the speakers. Elena and Gerardo are about to leave to go on their honeymoon. Jorge asks about putting the deed to the house in the names of Cami and Emi. Gerardo says that it will be ready when they return. He and Elena leave.

Gerardo and Elena are at Ernesto’s apartment. Elena wonders who did this to her. Gerardo brings her a sedative. Elena rips up the deed transfer documents and accuses Gerardo of being with that slut Mondriana.

 

En Otra Piel – Martes – Parte Tres

Elena tells Gerardo that they are not going on their honeymoon. Her wedding was ruined and now it's war. Gerardo reminds her that they had a deal – he would marry her and she would leave the girls alone. Elena says that the deal is off. She has never been so humiliated in her life in front of all those society people. Exasperated, Gerardo says that he married her what else does she want? Elena replies that she wants him to love her and support her in everything. She wants him to be the guy that she fell in love with, not the wuss he became with Mónica. Gerardo asks if he knows why he is with her. “Fear of jail?” responds Elena. Gerardo say no. It is for the baby. Elena asks if he deserves the baby after he betrayed her.

Lying on her bed, Lorena flashes back to the venom spewed by her daughter.

I guess the news about the wedding from hell has gone viral. Eddy runs into Diego at bar and asks why he would want to ruin the marriage of Elena and Gerardo? He Diego's friend (Mondriana) was the one who ruined the party. He wants to know her name.

Emi daydreams about living in her house with Mondriana and Jorge and no Elena or Gerardo. She mentions the chocolates that Mondriana supposedly sent her in the hospital. Mondriana asks if Emi remembers the guy who brought them. Emi says yes. Mondriana warns her to stay away from that guy.

Elena flashes back to various humiliations at the wedding. She says that she won't be beaten.

Lorena comes to see Jorge at the guesthouse. She says that she needs to talk. She shows him the summons to testify at the custody hearing. She tells him that she knows that she hasn't done right but Emi has to stay with her for her sake and for the sake of everyone. She begs him to drop the custody suit for Emi. Jorge asks her not to hide the bad things Elena did. It makes her Elena's accomplice. Jorge asks if Lorena doesn’t think that it is possible that Elena killed Julián. Lorena asks if Jorge doesn’t think it might be possible that he got her (Lorena) pregnant. Has he not considered that Elena could be his daughter?

well at least Elena didn't pull out her gun at the wedding and start shooting the guests.

so after a wonderful wedding Geraldo and Elena are off for their honeymoon, (were there tin cans tied to their bumper) to Ernesto's little apartment, what?, so are they out of the house?

and yes, Geraldo completed his side of the bargain, so what.

and our doubting Jorge managed to stay on the right side, which was winning, but will he stay there with the news, pass the bottle Lorena.

Thanks, Jean, for the great recap. I've just returned from a trip, and the recaps made it possible for me to follow the novelas while I was away. So many thanks to all the recappers of the past week.


Jean, I loved "If a ghost is invited to the wedding, does it need to bring a gift?" and also your pointing out a rather inconvenient issue: "Mondriana says that she doesn't have to marry Jorge to make sure that nothing comes between her and Emi [except the soul in the wrong body problem]." Yup, except for that.... :-)

 

CIELOS, Martes

This was a powerful episode. AC, Chacorta and crew get the call from Saul, rush to the hospital where Ximena is, have to threaten a cop who sees them, AC then tells Chacorta to rid the hospital of all cops. The doctor tells them he removed the two bullets from Ximena, but her condition is serious, the next 24 hours will be critical (they always say this). AC is there, as well as Rutila and Luzma. AC goes in to see Ximena.

She's weak, but immediately says I know it was you. You're a murderer, you killed my father, who knows how many others, you killed your son Bert by getting him in the business, and now you've killed ME. Don't say that, replies AC, you need to be strong. And I never meant to hurt you, you're the love of my life. (he's admitting he did it). Yeah, right, says Xime, you meant to kill Santiago, and I was hit by accident. It's obvious. Well, your punishment is going to have to raise your daughters alone, knowing you killed their mother! Rutila comes in, she's crying, I'm sorry, Mom, you were right, please don't leave us. Xime says you've got to get away from him. Don't repeat my story. Don't repeat my story. And she DIES.

Rutila is in shock, when she comes out, she hears part of a conversation in which AC is telling Chacorta to make the guys who did it "disappear" so it can be blamed on Chema. Ruti just hears the word Chema. She calls him, screams at him, how COULD you!!? But Chema doesn't even know about it, swears he had nothing to do with it. It must have been your own Pa, he hated that stepfather of yours, right?

RIGHT. Ruti now knows AC himself did it. Between comforting Luzma, she tells AC she KNOWS what happened. He would NEVER have changed his mind so suddenly, allowing Santiago to take them to Europe. It was an obvious ploy. One that went horribly wrong, and killed Ximena. She's going to make AC SUFFER. And she's NOT going to repeat what her mother did, and fall for some stupid narco!

Victor doesn't know anything about this, but guess what? He finds Isabel! She's working as a seamstress, and he's tracked her down, surprises her. He says he's willing to give up everything for her, even his family, because SHE will be his family. He asks if he's sure, he is, and she says YES. Awwwww, how sweet.

Vicky tells Leo she IS suspicious of Danilo, who's been like a different person lately. Leo is surprised, but takes in the info. Monica is almost exploding, waiting for AC to reveal himself to AC.

Garnica and Ernie have adjoining jail cells. Leo tells them they're like two opposite links of a chain, and the good guys will fill in the rest of the links, and stop the drug scourge. Ernie tells Garnica that's true, and they should work together (I'm not sure how).

Lai is trying to hire some guards, so she can challenge Tijeras, but it's not going well. Inaki wants to go back to Spain, or even Mexico, anything but Colombia, but Lai reminds him that he's an idiot. Tijeras licks his chops that he'll soon be able to kill Lai (but I bet he's overconfident here).

Leo catches Ig and Ana! She wants to bring them in immediately, points a gun at them. Ig wants to finish his investigation first, but Leo says no way. However, Ig then says it involves Vicky's security, the van in which Monica Robles escaped was registered to Danilo Ferro! THIS gets Leo's attention.

But she won't be on the case of investigating the murder of Ximena in Sinaloa, because new drug chief Rodrigo Rivera says the price on her head is too high. HE will supervise. He tells Vicky he KNOWS that AC is alive! They have documented proof. And the best way to catch him will be at the funeral of Ximena!

Maybe it's just because this novela is sandwiched between two others that move at a breathless pace, but jeez...even in the penultimate week, they are still using loooooong flashbacks of stuff WE JUST SAW to kill time and extend the agony. Flashback, the Hamburger Helper of Novelaland, a lazy writer's best friend.

Now THIS is a novela that would have benefited from some judicious editing!

Jean, thanks for your recap. If I recall correctly, Lorena and Jorge had the paternity conversation months ago but she specifically said he wasn't Elena's father. So it's a little strange how she threw it at him last night to make him feel guilty. I'm hoping that he's not her father as that will mean 1) Elena slept with her uncle (worse as he would have been her father's twin brother) and 2) Jorge will return to being indecisive and weak.

The "ghost" did provide some nice musical entertainment, so I think that counts as a gift. I'm a little worried that Diego missed one of the speakers and left behind evidence that probably didn't need to be hung on the walls anyway. Hopefully Jorge has seen enough of Elena to not forgive, even if she is his daughter. And why is someone not buying Emi new soap???

I though Eddie gave Victorcito the location of Isabel. He was the only one who knew she was still alive, since big Voctor wanted her dead. I'm really liking Raul Mendez. He almost has me convinced that Chacorta wants to change and have a normal like with Irma. except that he'll never be a normal life kind of guy and everyone knows it. (I also saw him in a movie called No Se si Cortarme las Venas, etc.) and he's a really good actor.

So is Tijeras, but I don't really care if Lai gets the drop on him because he's no fun without Cabo.

I just hope that Season 3 isn't Rutila taking over the drug biz. She's the only one with the ability and intelligence to stand up to her father, but hopefully she goes to school and studies accounting or marketing or something. Otherwise she'll end up being the next Monica, smart and capable, but still second class in a drug-dealing world. Also she'd be a drug dealer. Looking forward to someone FINALLY destroying Aurelio's ego.

I figured that Ximena would die once she was shot; her story line had ended. Poor Santiago, is anyone going to make arrangements for him? It seem so insane for AC to attend the funeral since it was in the news. Ruti is on to AC now; I just wonder what she will do to avenge her Mom. Maybe go back to Chema?

I cannot believe this will all be over after Monday...it has really built up to a powerful ending.

I'm hoping Lorena is lying through her teeth about the father of the evil spawn to get him to back off on his custody suit. Now, of course, she has convinced herself that she'll SAVE Emi by cooperating with Elena. If she wasn't a complete fool, she'd tell Jorge exactly what Elena did. At this point, he'd definitely believe it. They might not be able to prove it, but they could at least monitor everything Emi touches or ingests.

The big question is Gerardo. Elena has broken her word about giving the house to Cami and Emi. Does he just shrug this off, or is any action possible from this guy?

How about if dogs are immune from the Chinese insect crap. Pacho somehow bites into a vial of the stuff and THEN bites Elena in the butt.

Speaking of Pacho, he needs to have his agent re-negotiate his contract with Telemundo. In El Cuerpo del Deseo that German Shepherd had a MUCH bigger role. I think he also was Mario Cimarro's real dog, so maybe that had something to do with it!

EN OTRA PIEL, Wed. pt. 1

Rehash of Lorena telling Jorge that SHE- the alcoholic who can’t say no to her murderous daughter- is the best thing for Emi. Then the daughter shocker. Jorge accuses her of lying since she told him the father was dead. So which is it? Was she lying then or lying now? She was never sure and still doesn’t really know.

Mondri talks to Emi and asks again to not provoke Elena, ORDERS her not to do anything.

Lorena was in love with Jorge, but he thought it was just a fling. She sits down next to him and he immediately stands up and walks away, which is the right reaction. Blah blah blah de Lorena.

Ger drinks, naturally, and reviews his conversation with Mondriana and the wedding where she calls him a coward and a liar. He calls Mondri on Ernesto’s line, so she doesn’t recognize the number but answers the phone anyway. (Does anyone do that? Not me.) But he says nothing so she tells the empty space that she can’t hear. (Does anyone do that too? Or do you just assume it’s a crank call or telemarketer, and hang up? ) But not Mondri! She was raised better than I was. He’s about to say something but Elena walks in and asks who he’s talking to. He makes something up. Then he starts in on how they’ll make a new life away from here, etc. She’s like, yeah right, a new life as LOSERS. He just can’t deal anymore and goes to bed. Elena does *69 and finds out he called Mondri.

Diego talks to Eddie about the wedding prank. He has this “friend” who knows that Elena killed Monica Serrano, but doesn’t have proof. Eddie wants to talk to Diego’s “friend” directly.

Lorena was sleeping with another guy at the same time she was flinging with Jorge. Well, not at the EXACT same time. Anyway, other guy is dead. She loved Jorge too much to force him to be by her side. (So what does that say about her love for Emi that she IS willing to force Emi to stick to her?)

Cami and Ric talk. I’m too busy hating her hair to hear exactly what is said, but she does chuckle at Mondri showing up at the wedding, which I do not hate. Good on you, Cami, for lightening up.

Jorge tells Lorena that maybe if she had told him then Elena wouldn’t have grown up with so much resentment. And, turns out, he doesn’t turn stupid! He tells her to open her eyes because Elena is a killer. Lorena says Julian was an accident. And Monica?? What about Monica? Lorena wants him to shut it, defends Elena as she does, and tries to get him to understand that he shouldn’t disparage Elena because she could be his own blood. (Like Monica was to you, Lorena?)

Ric is suspicious of Elena’s house offer. He still has a copy of the will and will show it to Tomas. Cami approves. Mondri comes down the stairs to take her leave and Cami invites her over any time to see Emi. Nothing but motherly happiness from Modri.

Susana is saying stuff to Marta and Rod in the kitchen, but does anyone really care? I think she doesn’t want to be alone, or in the same room, because of the ghost. Maybe she can trade with Emi?

Maite and Vale talk boys, Maite’s care of Anselmo and Vale’s besos with Eddie. Vale is afraid she’ll have a panic attack if things get too far with him. Maite encourages her, but tells her to use protection! Yeah, show!

Rod and Marta are about to kiss again and get interrupted AGAIN by Ric this time. They never should’ve had kids. Rod yells at him, in his nice Don Ro-like way.

Emi is asleep and we see the feet of a scary ghost creepily enter. But, no! Worse! It’s Lorena. She asks asleep Emi for forgiveness and promises to protect her. (From what, Lorena? Your daughter is becoming a saint from the “pregnancy”).

Next day. Ger has spent his wedding night on the couch. Elana stomps out to leave, and Ger wants to take her wherever she wants to go. Then he tries to stop her and get her to bed. She’s ticked and leaves.


 

EN OTRA PIEL, Wed. Pt. 2

Diego talks to Mondri and Selma about going to Eddie. But Mondri wonders how they’ll do that since they can’t very well tell Eddie how she knows what she knows, and cops don’t investigate body snatchings.

Ric is going to drive Cami somewhere and puts the address into his fancy new car that he’s deriving, but the product placement didn’t work because I didn’t see what kind of car.

Lorena gets breakfast in bed ready for Emi. Susanna takes it up but stops to eavesdrop on her convo with Jorge, and hears Jorge ask for a dna test. Lorena doesn’t want to force this on her daughter, but Jorge wants to know. Either she gets Elena’s hair brush or he will.

Mondri is concerned about what Elena will do when Eddie starts to question her. They have to force a confession.

Sue has taken the food to Emi and casually asks if she happens to know where the honeymooning couple is. Emi doesn’t know.

Elena has gone to see Pachuco with some cash. She wants the job completed, but to everyone in that house. Pachuco isn’t sure about this change order to the plan. It’ll be tough without Rott. He finally agrees but needs a couple days to get everything together. Sue calls and apologizes for interrupting the honeymoon, but had to tell her what she knows. Elena is not happy to find out Jorge might be daddy.

Jorge wanders the house and recalls seeing Elena for the first time, just a few weeks (months?) ago. Lorena comes downstairs with the hairbrush and hopes that if he is her dad, that he’ll drop the custody fight. He’s not having it. She blabs her usual about Elena being fragile, and how she loves the girls, and is changing, etc. He is not happy. She questions if he’s hoping that the test comes back negative. He just looks at her and leaves to get the test over with.

Mondri talks to Emi, but Emi is too tired for chatting. She’s in pain and Mondri discovers a blister behind her ear.

Cami’s trip was to see Eddie. He wants to show her some pics of bad guys, and she recognizes Rott even though he had a bandana on at the time. Same guy who attacked Jenny, Eddie tells her. Cami asks about the connection and says it must be a coincidence. But Eddie doesn’t believe in coincidences and thinks they just haven’t found the connection yet. Then he supposes Elena told her about his questions to her about the shooting. But nope. She knows nothing and is shocked that Eddie thinks the shooting was staged.

Jorge is back at his house remembering his convo with Lorena. Selma has come by at his request, and he tells her about the dna test. Care de Que! De Selma.

Sue has been able to get to Ernesto’s apartment to talk to Elena and tell her everything she heard. But Elena calls her stupid for not getting more information. Elena pours herself a drink, and Sue questions this. She thinks a drink now and then is one thing, but nag nag nag and she’s just concerned. It’s totally inappropriate, but I appreciate that she might care, and therefore she should not trade rooms with Emi. You get to live, Sue. Elena gives her $500 for her trouble and kicks her out. Then Elna realizes that she may have slept with her father’s brother.

Pachuco gets a visitor and thinks it’s Elena, but nope! It’s Gerardo pointing a gun at him, and he wants to know what his deal with Elena is.

Doc makes a house call to Emi and needs to do a biopsy. Then Emi loses feeling in her hand. NOW will someone buy her new soap?

I am so used to Jorge Luis Pila (Geraldo) waffling all through "La Patrona", that I'm not expecting much here, after all, he is the Galan that never gets the girl.

according to wiki, tonight's show will be 147, which began February 18th, whew!

 

CIELOS, Miércoles Part 1

Another exciting episode! Ignacio finally convinces Leo to let Ana go, telling Leo to just shoot him if she can (she can't). He turns himself in, but she agrees to follow up on his investigation into why Danilo Ferro's company owned the van Mónica Robles fleed in. We now have Ignacio, Garnica and Ernie in adjoining cells. Rodrigo comes in and tells Garnica he's going down, Garnica is defiant.

AC wants to meet with Saul, who says it was just an accident, boss, I've always been loyal to you. AC says you screwed up, and you'll pay in blood! Hit punches him in the mouth. Chacorta separates them, and Saul is sent outside. But he eavesdrops as AC says I'm gonna kill him anyway. I figure Saul is going to leave town, and Variopinta indicated above that Chacorta gave him money, which I missed, but will help Saul escape.

Chacorta isn't happy that Victor has left, wants to find him and punish him, although Alba says let him go. Alba also says maybe Chacorta, Irma and Carlitos could start a new life, but we know that's not happening. We find out that Chacorta isn't going to kill Memo, he's going to kill Pepe, and have Memo witness it, to make sure Memo gets the message, don't mess with us! The other reason to kill Pepe is to take attention away from Ximena's death and funeral in the newspapers. Irma wants to know what's going on, but Chacorta says the less you know, the better.

Tijeras has, in fact found Lai, and his guys waltz into her hotel room behind a bribed or intimidated bellboy. Lai and Iñaki are now at Tijeras's mercy. Uh oh!

Mónica calls AC, what really happened? AC admits it, he wanted to "teach that punk (Santiago) a lesson", but it all went bad, and Ximena got shot. Moni says what were you thinking, taking out Xime's boyfriend, didn't she have the right to have one? AC replies, stop meddling, this if FAMILY. Well, replies Moni, aren't I and you're baby to be family? Tell me the truth, you really only always loved Ximena, you're still not over her, right? AC finally admits it, yes goddamit, she's my only true love! He hangs up, and it's time for Mónica to go to plan B, as Deb pointed out the other day.


 

CIELOS Part 2

Leo tells Vicky that Ignacio has turned himself in, but also reveals the link between the van and Danilo Ferro. Vicky says no way, Danilo is a good guy, I KNOW him. Leo says she KNEW Ignacio, and look what happened. She asks Vicky to approve a search warrant for Danilo's place, and Vicky grudgingly agrees.

Mónica's plan B involves Danilo's corpse. Ramon says he'll do anything for her, so she says wrap up the corpse in a blanket. Lilo sees Ramon, pulls a gun on him, not so fast! But Mónica clocks Lilo over the head with a bottle! They proceed with the body. Moni makes an anonymous call to Ignacio's phone, answered by Leo, saying come to this address, and Victoria should also come.

Vicky is worried, but Leo's a professional, and they go to the address, find a van. They open the back of the van, and it the body of Danilo Ferro! Except that to Vicky, it's NOT!!!! Are you SURE that is Danilo, she asks Leo. Absolutely, says Leo, we met him at the ranch, several times. Vicky can't speak, she can hardly stand, her mind is spinning, thinking then who's the guy I've been SLEEPING WITH?!!

We also see Mónica ordering the whole ranch to be wiped down, anything suspicious removed. Lilo doesn't know why, but Moni must know the cops will search. She's way ahead of Lilo.

AC is worried that Rutila said he'd hurt him where it hurt the most, what could that mean? Lilo calls Chacorta about Mónica and Danilo's corpse. I'm not sure if he's told AC, but AC has problems. Chacorta says why don't we both just take our families and start over. No way, says AC, would I lose our precious drug routes to rivals! Okaaaay.

So they're getting ready for the funeral, and Rodrigo has a whole army of cops ready to pounce! Tonight should be a wild one!!
 

This has gotten SO good. I've really gotten hooked. Thank you for the translations, Hombre, otherwise, I'd
understand very little.

So AC has shown his true self by choosing his drug routes over starting a new life with his family. I would have guessed that Chacorta would have been the one, but I was wrong.

Things look bad for Lai and Inaki. I thought that bellhop looked mighty scared.

Vicky did a good job with her reactions to Danilo's death. I thought she actually looked pale!

Looking forward to tonight to see where all of this takes us.

that was a tense scene with Saul, and I had trouble following the conversation, especially the muffled part through the door while Saul was eavesdropping, and didn't Aurelio say he would wait until after the funeral, but he would kill all of his family, and at one point Saul pulled his gun and was going back in, but Chacorta cooled things down, and Saul finally went away.

I wasn't sure if Vicky knew that was not her Danilo, because I don't think she said anything, but didn't Leo say he'd been dead for a while, and everyone made like he smelled, hmm, seems like his body should have still been cold, but looking like a recent death.

Monica is one smart psycho cookie, (with a strange maternity top), but she will never be family.

and Leo gave Rodrigo the letter Ernie wrote to deliver to Ruti, don't worry there is nothing in there that should concern us, I looked it over.

I wonder if Ruti (the woman) will turn to Chema for help, he has played her very well, and would probably be thrilled to have her, and Luzma, fall back into his lap.

The second one was shot in the back by chacorta in Guatemala during another confrontation with chema. The casillas told saul that it had been chema who killed them. But yesterday Saul heard the truth

CIELOS - Jueves Part 1

Coming down to the wire! Every episode is packed with revelations. We begin with Chacorta's plan to kill Pepe to take away the public's attention from Ximena's death. It works! The assassins find Pepe in the middle of the crowded city, and kill him and his driver, wounding a shrieking girlfriend or actress. Memo is in the bathroom inside the building, hears the shots, but the message is loud and clear, and he'll keep his trap shut to the authorities. Sure enough, the news is full of this attack, with no mention of the death of the wife of the Lord of the Skies.

Leo goes off to Danilo's mansion, arriving JUST too late, as they see the airplane taking off. The entire mansion is deserted, but they do find two things: 1) blood on the freezer which we know had Danilo's body, and 2) A tequila bottle in a cabinet, which may have (AC's) fingerprints.

While Leo is at the ranch, Vicky is in her office going crazy. She tells Diana to get her all the files on Danilo Ferro. Going through them wildly, she finds pictures that confirm that yes, the dead guy they just found in the van was Danilo Ferro. But then who was the guy she was sleeping with? She screams to Diana, get me the files on the druglords we're investigating. She tears through them, finally finding a picture of Aurelio Casillas, THAT's HER MAN! She calls "Danilo's" phone, but it isn't answered at first.

We see that AC is at the funeral. And Saul did NOT leave. AC says stay close to me, Saul says "I'll be your shadow", so maybe he's thinking of revenge. And on the nearby highway, here comes Rodrigo, and his men from MARINA (the Mexican Naval Infantry Unit which fights druglords). Of course, Chacorta's rings of security pick them up well in advance, and AC and Chacorta high tail it out of there before the cops arrive. Rutila repeats that she's gonna make AC pay. The cops arrive, and to the distress of Alba, take the body, because there were no reports, no proper paperwork was filled out, etc.

Rodrigo says to Ruti, don't you want to know who killed your Dad? I already know, she says, but doesn't tell him. He gives her the letter from Ernie. She reads it, it says he always loved her, but Chema tricked them both.

Garnica is getting transferred to the military prison. Diana sees that Vicky is upset, but Vicky pulls herself together to oversee the transfer. Ruti visits Ernie in jail, and he's so happy she came, he loves her, everything will be okay. Yeah, she replies, but you did give my father's picture to Chema, proving he was alive, right? Sure, honey, says Ernie, but I had to, to win Chema's confidence. Well, you lost MY confidence, says Ruti, and leaves him sputtering.


 

CIELOS Part 2

Lai and Inaki are taken to Tijeras's lair in Cali, Colombia, where Chema gives Lai a choice, either agree to be one of my house whores, or I'll "peel" you! Uuuuuuyyyyy!

Chema tells Andrews that he doesn't want to be held responsible for Ximena's death, since he didn't do it, and some big drug war is coming. They need to go to Mexico City to get ready (and they do).

Rutila tells a long-time employee, I think his name was Fonpello, to help her. He was loyal to Don Cleto and Ximena, and knows that AC killed them both. He and Ruti sneak out, and take one of the company planes. When AC finds out, he's livid, of course. Ruti calls Chema, she needs to see him today. He agrees, although he's in Mexico City.

Ruti is taken to Chema's hideout in Mexico City. She's wearing a slinky black dress. After they're alone, he asks why she came. "To do what we've wanted to do since we first met" she says, and drops the dress to go totally nude. Chema's eyes light up, and they make love all night. But we can tell from her eyes she has something up her sleeve (although she's not wearing a sleeve at this point :). She looks outside the window, and sees a sign which says Lomas de Chapultepec.

AC is mad as hell at Monica for the stunt with Danilo's body, but she just says she was speeding up things, is he going to blackmail Vicky or not? Vicky calls, he answers, she says I know EVERYTHING. So what's next...Aurelio, isn't it? He says at first he was faking, but then he started to really love her, and he DOES love her. She call tell their love is real, right? Vicky in no way is agreeing with this, but says they have to meet.

She then goes to Ignacio's cell, and weeping, says you were right all along! She falls into his arms. But she doesn't exactly reveal that she now knows that her Danilo was AC.

At the end of the episode, Leo comes back in the office with a picture of AC. Vicky, look carefully at this picture. Could this be the guy you thought was Danilo Ferro? How come I have the sinking suspicion that Vicky will NOT tell Leo the truth!!!????

This is so good, anyone hooked for season 3 yet? I'm in, can't wait to see how they end the fictional Amado Carrillo. The good thing, these TNs are only about 80 episodes.

Vicky, if you are going to meet AC, you better take the whole Mex army with you. That would really be dumb, short gobierna(ship), although I think her career is coming to an end anyway once this is out.
Is Ruti going to try & take out Chema & AC? I don't think Chema & Ruti will make it to season 3.

Ernie killed Elsa's assistant after she threatened to expose Chema for her kidnapping. He also got blamed for killing the two guards watching her.

Ruti's look on her face said it all...she is out for total revenge! I can't wait to see how the meeting between AC and Vicky goes. This show is awesome right now!

They are tying things up rather quickly. Can't wait for the last two episodes!!

isn't Tijeras place, Lai's brother's (who they killed) old mansion, Inaki wants Lai to back off and give in, nobody likes a wimp in this game so I'm not seeing him being around long.

whew, Ruti ("although she's not wearing a sleeve"), but they brought her there with the bag over her head, but now she sees that sign that may help to locate Chema's place.

and as Aurelio is telling Vicky that he really loves her, Monica is having another one of her silent meltdowns.

and Chacorta is the nice guy, right?

Jorge surprised me by having enough nerve to halt Elena's manipulations...even with the possibility of being her father. If he keeps this up he just may be worthy of Selma's affection.

Pachuco spilled the beans about Ernesto's death and like Jorge, Gerardo finally reacted. Just hope he's not outsmarted by Elena.

And I guess they're keeping Pachuco alive to fill in the blanks when he's finally arrested later one, especially about the deaths of Esteban (Selma needs closure), the Perv, and Andriana's brother and of course Elena's poisoning of Emi.

Woke up feeling lousy and ended up needing an appendectomy. Spent the night in the hospital, but I'm home now and my son and daughter-in-law are fussing over me more than I'd like!

En Otra Piel – Jueves Parte 1

We start with the histrionics Emi’s room. She is going back to the hospital. The worthless doctor wants to do more tests. Emi doesn’t want to go, but what can she do she’s a kid in a wheelchair?

Geraldo forces Pachuco’s confession about the false shooting of Cami and also that Elena ordered the killing of Geraldo’s brother. I don’t believe Pachuco mentioned the current plan to burn up the family. There is a fight between the two and Pachuco escapes. (This scene takes place in several parts.)

Cami is still being interviewed by Eddie. She is not convinced and is confused (isn’t she always?) about Elena maybe planning the attack. She knows that Elena isn’t perfect, but she’s not an killer (verdad?). Cami shares Eddie’s theory with Ricardo. He says the Elena has already proved to be kind of crazy several times. Marta calls and says that Emi is going to the hospital.

Marta catches Susana suspiciously returning from her meeting with Elena.

Eileen shows up at the Rodrigo’s shop and her producer is interested in more stories like the one that was stolen before this TN started. Much rejoicing, and they get to working on a show about a waitress and famous pianist (doesn’t this sound familiar, I wonder where I’ve heard this one?). Gabriel arrives in time to help (I hope Jennifer isn’t tagging along). There is some fun dialog at Cami’s expense. That card Eileen wants to name the main villain Camila! Ha, ha! (I guess that’s the best joke will get for a while.)

Jorge shares with Selma the news about his possible paternity of Perra Elena. Selma asks whether he will still help Monica (the $1000 question at this point).

The worthless Lorena is seen walking the shady streets of Los Angeles. She meets a shady looking guy and asks him about the mystery novella poison. He doesn’t have any just the usual things like cyanide, arsenic, etc. But Lorena wants an antidote (she is turning the corner to being helpful?) to the novella poison. The guy will look for one and call her.
 

En Otra Piel – Jueves Parte 2

Elena shows up at Jorge’s house. Selma waits in the kitchen and overhears the scene between Jorge and Elena. Elena tells Jorge that Lorena told her everything (mentirosa!). Quite honestly, I could hardly stand to watch Vanessa Villela chew up the scenery in this one. This is a dream come true, it’s what she’s always wanted. She hopes with all her heart that Jorge is her father (false tears pouring down her checks), etc. etc. Jorge wants her to calm down for the good of baby and wait for the results of the DNA test. Mondriana calls and tells Jorge that Emi’s in the hospital.

Cami arrives at the hospital. The doctor is talking the gathered crowd when Jorge arrives (perhaps he has a helicopter to get through the LA traffic?). The doctor thinks that Emi might be getting poisoned little by little (he’s so astute). Doctor wants to examine all the soap, shampoo, creams, etc. that Emi has been using. Elena over hears this in the convenient hall that is always available in these stories.

Maite and Valeria return from a hearing with Jorge’s attorney. Things seem to be going well with their asylum request, but Adriana wasn’t there which was strange to them.

Elena shows her face to the rest at the hospital, and we almost get the cat fight with Mondriana that we all want. Mondriana accuses Elena – it’s all Elena’s fault and she is poisoning Emi. Ricardo hold’s Mondriana back and doctor intercedes this is a hospital after all, so they don’t scratch each other’s eyes out. There are some choice words. And Cami grows a backbone and tells Elena to leave the hospital. Elena tries to change opinion by sharing that this woman is Geraldo’s mistress and she was behind all that happened at the wedding. Cami’s backbone gains strength and she asks Elena to leave, she is tired of her lies and schemes . Mondriana will stay because Emi needs her support. I think I say steam coming out of Elena’s ears
Susana is talking to Monica picture (she’s never sounded so smart) when

Elena calls Susana and asks her to change out the soap and shampoo in Emi’s room. Susana reluctantly follows orders, only changing the soap and shampoo (is there hope that she misses something, I think so…).
 

En Otra Piel – Jueves Parte 3

Jorge follows Elena and they have a lovely scene between possible father and daughter where Jorge tell’s her that he does not believe her (he does not believe her tears nor what she says), and it would be better if Geraldo and Elena say away. That’s the main take away. Perhaps Jorge is getting smart again?

Susana hears Marta talking with Cami about get getting Emi’s shampoo, etc. And Susana looks guiltily at her bag of poisoned shampoo and soap. Later, she asks Marta what she is doing with all of Emi’s stuff. Is Susana getting a clue?

Cute scene where Eileen is going to help Maite and Valerie learn English, if they help get Rodrigo and Marta together. They are the three musketeers de amor.

Lorena shows up at the hospital. Mondriana lays into her (mother hen is on a tear today!). It’s time for Lorena to do what’s correct for the first time in her life to protect Mondriana’s daughter (oops!?!) and not remain quiet. Lorena gives her usual bovine-like look when she doesn’t understand what is happening.

Elena returns to Ernesto’s apartment as her phone rings. It’s Pacucho telling her that that imbecile Geraldo took all his money, just then her “loving” husband, Geraldo, appears and asks, “Did you kill my brother you damn bitch?” He swears he’ll kill her. (Wouldn’t that be nice? But we still have 7 episodes left, so I guess unlikely for next show.)

CIELOS - Viernes Part 1

The next to last episode! Vicky does NOT lie to Leonor. Yes, she now knows that the man who financed her campaign, the man with whom she fell in love, was El Señor de Los Cielos! She's going to resign, but first, she'll trap Aurelio. She's the perfect bait, right? Leo is opposed, it's too dangerous, but Rodrigo says let's go for it, this may be our only chance.

Vicky doesn't want to appear too eager, so she doesn't call AC. She does call Mónica, though, telling her I know you're not Fernanda, and that baby you're expecting is his, right? Yeah, says Mónica, are you jealous? No, YOU should be jealous, replies Vicky, since those kisses from Aurelio with me were REAL, the touches were REAL. This drives Mónica nuts, of course.

Ruti tells Pompeio that he can leave if he wants, it's dangerous, but he says no, he knows what he's doing, and she's his new boss. Ruti calls AC, tells him guess what, Daddy, I just had sex with your rival Chema, how do you like that?!! This hits AC like a ton of bricks, this WAS how she could hurt him the most. However, Ruti adds that she sort of knows where Chema is, in case AC wants to "talk" to him. She describes that area in Mexico City, based on the sign, and AC has his men check it out to look for where Chema could be.

Ruti then returns to Sinaloa to take care of Xime's funeral, and Alba says where were you, what were you doing? Ruti says, you're just gonna have to get used to not knowing. All I'll say is that I'm in the business now! Alba weeps to Irma, we've lost Ruti, too.

Tijeras has sex with Lai, smiling in triumph. Lai snarls, but you didn't humiliate me, I still have my pride. Oh yeah? says Tijeras, throws her down, brutally takes her from behind. How's your pride now? In the morning he has Lai tied up, kneeling on the ground, Iñaki is beaten and bloody, Tijeras calls Chema, I want you to "witness" Lai's demise. Go for it, says Chema. Tijeras tells Iñaki that HE will have to kill Lai. No way, says Iñaki, I have info on all of AC's European drug routes, I'll tell you that if you'll spare our lives. Tijeras chuckles, okay, I'll spare YOUR life, but not hers. Now shoot her! He gives Iñaki the gun (other guns are trained on Iñaki so he can't exactly do much else). Iñaki's hands are shaking, Tijeras says c'mon, Five, Four, Three....Boom, Iñaki shoots, and Lai is dead. We also know that after Tijeras extracts all the info from Iñaki, he'll be killed, too. Chema congratulates Tijeras, nice work! Now get up here, we have business to attend to!


 

CIELOS, Part 2

Andrews is going to arrange a meeting with Chema and all of Andrews' corrupt fellow DEA agents (apparently there are lots of them who want to make money from the drug trade and money laundering!). But then Ruti calls, saying thanks for the roll in the hay, Chema, I just wanted to hurt my Dad, but hey, there's nothing between you and me, I just USED you. After all, you along with Mati did have my grandma shot. And you double crossed Ernie. Did you really think I dug you? And by the way, I told my Dad where your hideout is, I saw a sign out the window, so he's probably on his way. Have fun!

Leo identifies Lilo to Rodrigo. Rodrigo has a picture of General Montoya, these two are figuring out the whole druglord picture. But they need to concentrate on Aurelio.

Since AC may be near, Chema tells Andrews to call for reinforcements from the DEA. AC's men spot a big mansion with a suspicious guard, this may be it. AC calls Chema, I understand you slept with my daughter! Well, adds AC, that was part of my plan, having her seduce you. Chema is shocked by this (which is false of course). She even told me where you are, and here I come! Chema thinks he's bluffing, but to be sure, has Toro double the security. AC's men see this, know that they DO have the right mansion.

The firefight begins! AC, Chacorta, Saul, Lilo and others start shooting into Chema's mansion, and he, Toro and Andrews return fire. As usual, only the non-cast members are getting hit. Lilo is on the other side of the house. AC tells Chacorta and another guy to go around to a third area, surround them. This leaves Saul alone with AC. AC's gun runs out of bullets, and he tells Saul to give him HIS gun. Sorry, says Saul, no can do. Huh? Saul points his gun at AC, not after you killed my brother and my cousin! I'm going to kill you, or turn you over to Chema, you choose!

AC tries to talk to him about loyalty, but it's not working. However, he spies a gun on the hip of one of his dead guards, a few feet away. Inside the house, Chema and Toro decide to shoot at the same time. Their weapons blaze, distracting Saul. AC grabs the gun from the dead guy's body, and Saul joins his brother and cousin, shot dead by AC. Chema sees the crewcut, did they kill AC? Nah, AC yells I'm still here, and I'm gonna tear you to pieces!

Chacorta had doubled around the house, and overhears Andrews in the basement saying, send twenty DEA men, right now! I think Chacorta should shoot Andrews, but he doesn't, telling AC we've gotta leave, the DEA is on it's way. So AC, Chacorta and Lilo race out of there, dodging a hail of bullets. In the house, AC says we have to leave, too, the neighbors must have heard all this and called the federal police. We'll have to meet with your DEA guys another time.

So all our main antagonists are still alive and kicking, and there's only one more show! Can Vicky's trap snare the wily Aurelio? Will Leo save the day? Will Rutila be the wild card? Or will we finally see the long lost Cabo????? I can't wait!

Things are heating up, and I really wanted to watch, but I took pity on my son and daughter-in-law who spent the evening and night with me, fussing over me. Neither speaks Spanish. I slept late and woke up to an empty house, so that is excellent!

I had a hard time with xtra tough Pachuco, cowering under Geraldo, but was way disappointed that they sidestepped Emi's poisoning and Elena's new plan, which is what Geraldo came there to find out, didn't he already suspect Elena in his brother's death?

so is the shady guy some contact from Lorena's hippy past?

ah yes, Lorena's "bovine-like look", we know it well.

and Elena working PaPa Jorge, wow, so far he is holding back and hasn't jumped off that cliff, but if the dna results come back positive, he may be a goner.

from Friday's show,

Geraldo backs off from killing Elena, for their new baby, Elena steps up her performance, (and for this world since they are now married neither can testify against the other), but Geraldo isn't buying it, he's finally done (again), then she throws in Jorge being her papa, so? wonders Geraldo, don't you see, I will be heir to Jorge's fortune, we will be TWICE as rich, wow, and yet another (from an endless stream), reason to dislike Elena, Geraldo pulls out all of his hair, (almost).

this is a pretty good ending for the too-smart Ernie, sitting alone in the Governor's dungeon, looking out through the bars.

poor, poor Lai, of course she had to die, she was almost a good person, too good to take out Tijeras when she had the chance.

me too, I was waiting for Chacorta to shoot boy Andrews.

I was also waiting for Aurelio to roll a hand grenade into the house, but all, in all it looked like Aurelio was shorthanded and out gunned, and now everyone has scattered.

don't we just know that Aurelio's women will be his downfall.

Ive been wondering how legal the marriage is since Gerardo is not his real name. And what exactly are his plans with the lawyer? Seems he may want to tranfer something back to the daughters. I hope the documents are legal because i keep thinking that his honesty with Elena ensures that he won't be around very long. And Susana, what will she do now that Elena pretty much admitted she was up to no good with Emi? And now that Elena's out of the house its the perfect time to tear her room apart for evidence.

I was also wondering why AC had no grenades, La Reina used them.

So unlike AC not to have killed Saul before this. He is not a forgiving person to his henchmen.

Tijeras is such a cruel person, I hope his demise is the same. Cabo had some control over him. If I had been Lai, I think I would have welcomed the bullet.
 

I loved Susanna on Thurs (I think) talking to Monica's picture and being all 'please don't haunt me, if you see me in the hall just keep walking or floating or whatever you do.' It was so funny which is a nice change from the slow grind of the rest of the show but if Susanna doesn't turn in those poisoned soaps she should get haunted cause she has figured it out by now

This was a real nail biting episode. I, too, felt sorry for Lai, those scenes were so demeaning.

I am looking forward to the conclusion, and see who goes, and who makes it.

EN OTRA PIEL – VIERNES

This will be a short one. We get a very pleasurable scene of Gerardo choking Elena. She’s really scared, for once. He keeps asking why she killed his brother.

Mondriana goes after Lorena again, this time telling her Emiliana is her daughter. But Lorena won’t talk.

In the kitchen of the mansion Susana is asking Marta about how poison can be transmitted. She says she’s heard of doctors making mistakes. Marta gives her one of her pointed looks and asks her why she’s so interested in poisons.

The only thing that gets Gerardo’s hands from around Elena’s throat is her mentioning the phantom baby. She says that Pachuco lied. When that doesn’t work the miserable bitch says that Ernesto was obsessed with her and would have killed Gerardo if she hadn’t had him killed to save Gerardo. He doesn’t buy it.

Mondriana tries to get Lorena to tell her what poison is being used. Jorge pulls them apart and talks to Lorena about covering things up.

At the pensión Maite and Valeria tell Eddie the good news about the asylum. Later, when things get heated between Vale and Eddie, she again resists going further.

I am up to HERE with the scenes of Elena and Gerardo. She whines about her not having anything and he was just like her. He tells her that HE did have someone good in his life, someone he loved: Mónica Serrano. He goes on to say he’s going to turn himself in. Elena tells him he can’t testify against her because they’re married. He says that he realizes that, but at least he’ll be free of her.

Jorge tells Lorena she shouldn’t have told Elena about his possibly being her father until the test was done. She looks astonished and denies telling Elena.

Back to the newlyweds. Elena tells Gerardo that Jorge Larrea told her he was her father. She burbles happily that she’s now the heir of the huge Larrea fortune. He tells her to look for a shrink. He also tells her she has lots of money but she’ll never have his love.

Mondriana tells Cami the truth. That after she came to work as Emi’s tutor, she fell head over heels for Gerardo. Cami isn’t really upset about this.

Susana brings the soaps and creams she took from Emi’s bathroom to Elena. Elena asks her if she put new products in their place. Saying she did, Susana then asks if the things she removed could have been making Emi sick. Elena sharply tells her that Emi was just upset about how she’d behaved at the wedding. Susana gets a piece of jewelry, but doesn’t seem very pleased to have it.

At Larrea Wineries, Gerardo signs over the inheritance, I assume to the girls. [But what about the supposed section in the will that says, if he does that, it goes to the state?] Gerardo has a flight reservation to New York.

Again, the doctors can’t find anything in Emi’s system causing her illness. Mondriana gets a call from Gerardo asking her one last time to come with him. He says he’s broken it off with Elena. She tells him he has to stay to resolve his problems with Elena. She goes on to say it’s time he knew everything. She’ll meet him at the mansion within two hours.

say, in an odd twist, with Emi's poisoning going no where, didn't Diego go to see Eddie and start grilling him about poisons, and Eddie recalls hearing about a similar poison developed in China but he wasn't aware of it being used here, but he will check it out, (reluctantly, like for everything Diego asks him to do, Valeria seems to be the only one that doesn't get his beady-eyed cop treatment since he threw her to the wolves earlier)

I'm starting to picture Elena going around doing her little innocence performances,
with pacho locked onto her butt.

Thanks for the quick recap. I'm with you on the Geraldo-Elena scenes. They are extremely repetitive. In the past, I would fast forward through them. Now being so close to the end I'm afraid I might miss something important, but not last night. The pace slowed down again.

Yes, that scene with Eddie and Diego happened. I agree about Eddie, but Diego has really been forthcoming with info either, so I kind of see Eddie's reluctance.

I know we have a little over a week to go but the writers are being cagey about how this is going to play out. I hope they start to resolve some story lines soon. I hate when they crunch them in the last episode and rush everyone's outcomes.

Novelera, I'm surprised and happy to see that you've recovered sufficiently to do a recap. And an excellent one at that. It was all the repetitiveness that finally made me stop watching. It's been a real pleasure to keep up solely via the recaps. Many many thanks for making that possible.
