Hasta el Fin del Mundo #35 20141003 Chava Curses After Hearing Greta's Blessings!
Sophia sits alone in her office remembering all of the wonderful and scary times that she's had with Chava. Patrick has a slight tantrum in his office. He tells us that he will expedite the wedding, bankrupt Ripoll and destroy Chava.
CASA de CRUZ-Aracely, dressed as Donna Reed or June Cleaver, tells Lupe that her relationship with Pedro is officially over. Chava comes home. He tells them that he stopped by to thank Sophia for trusting him and dropping the charges. Lupe tells him that Aracely deserves all of the credit for getting him released.
A little while later, Chava calls Armando (at Snob Hill) and lets him know that he is out of jail. Chava is concerned that he is still a suspect. He doesn't like being known as the outlaw race car driver.
Aracely and Chava sit down for coffee. She tells him not to pay her. Her services were payback for Lupe and him taking care of Paco. She tells him that she and Pedro Carvajal broke up. Apparently, Pedro is the guy that she dumped Chava for. Anyway, she is single and ready to mingle if he's interested. (hint hint). The doorbell rings and Sophia is at the door. Chava introduces her to his mother. Aracely and Lupe give them privacy so that they can talk.
Sophia tells Chava that she needs him. Chava says that Patrick will be pissed if her returns. Sophia says that Chava makes her feel
Meanwhile, back in the kitchen, Lupe warns Aracely that she better handle her business and stop dressing like Mary Poppins...Sophia is trying to take your man girl!
HILL de SNOBS-Allan tells Alexa that a friend of his has flown in from Spain and he wants to meet him at the airport. He asks if Armando can drive him. Alexa, who looks like she robbed Cleopatra's closet, says that Greta might need Armando later. Allan says that he will take a taxi. Fausto interrupts them and sarcastically says that Greta told him to open all the windows and let all of the hot air out of the house (meaning Allan).
Alexa has entered the servants' quarters. The house is empty and she wants to watch an old movie called the Blood and the Sand (starring Rita Hayworth and Tyrone Power) with Armando. He's concerned that Greta will catch them and he will get fired for watching movies while he's on the clock. Speaking of the diabla. Greta shows up and blocks Alexa's seduction attempts. They will loan the DVD to Armando and his wife to watch AT HOME. After Greta leaves, Armando is shocked that Alexa hasn't told her mother the truth yet. Alexa says that she's still trying to work up the courage to do it.
Later Greta suggests that Alexa should move back to Europe immediately since she's hot there. If she stays in Mexico, her career could die.
AIRPORT-Manolo threatens to murder Alan and everyone in the Ripoll mansion if he doesn't get his money plus interest by tomorrow morning. Manolo chokes him in front of witnesses.
Casa de Armando and Irma-Armando and Nando are practicing marshal arts. Irma walks in the room to watch them. She's crying. Armando notices and asks why. She says that she really likes her family. Armando and Nando ignore her and go back to fighting. They think she's having her womanly time. Men!
Hill de Snobs-Allan sees Daniella come into the house and notices she's depressed from "love sorrow". A thief stole her smile. He plays in her hair and gives her a "brotherly" hug. As she goes up the stares, he smiles lecherously. Perv.
In the den, Greta makes Sophia promise to meet with her in the morning.
GHETTOVILLE-Lucas is offended that both Sophia and Chava have asked him if he stole the money. His gramma tells him that he made his bed and now he has to lie in it. Lucas is also upset that even Daniella didn't believe him. Gramma tells him that he has to earn people's trust.
Paco tells Aracely that that there are reasons that he doesn't want to leave the neighborhood. Aracely believes that her mother (Consuelo) is the reason. Paco says that he has a lot of bitterness--uh...yeah..ya think? He's got the hots for Lupe, but he doesn't want his baggage to affect her. Aracely wants him to give Lupe a chance so that Aracely can date Lupe's son. Two sisters fighting over their ugly step-brother. Yeah...that's not weird.
UPTOWN-Making out makes Silvanna and Patrick brainstorm sessions go smoother. In the middle of kissing and groping, Silvanna says that she will get Arispe (the Ripoll chief of security) and Lucas on Patrick's side. Patrick has a speech prepared that should get Chava put back in jail, but Silvanna tells him to allow her to handle it. If the Fuzz Chief and Arispe keep investigating, all evidence will eventually lead back to Patrick. More kissing. He agrees. His cell phone rings. It's Greta...they will meet tomorrow morning on Snob Hill.
THE NEXT MORNING
RIPOLL-Silvanna finds Matias sleeping in her office. He declares his love for her. Lucas knocks on the door. She has asked to meet with him. Matias leaves, but not before warning Lucas that he is watching him.
HILL de SNOBS-Sophia calls Chava and tells him that she won't be able to leave until after 10:00. She has a meeting with her mother.
Greta meets with Patrick in the living room and apologizes to him for being a witch. She appreciates that he has been very discreet about her dark secret of being a skank in her younger days. She is now ready to right a wrong. She will help to expedite his marriage to Sophia.
While Greta meets with Patrick. Sophia meets with Fausto in the den. Sophia asks Fausto if she thinks that she was wrong for defending Chava. Fausto says that Chava is trustworthy. They knew it when he first walked in the door. She tells him that she wants to eat Chava like he's a biscuit sopping with gravy. She doesn't know why. Fausto tells her that she is finally in love. They hug.
Upstairs, Allan watches Alexa while she's sleeping. When she awakens, he asks if she still likes him. He fears that Armando has taken her heart. She tells him not to be jealous. He tells her that he's leaving. Manolo and his goons have arrived in town and today will probably be the last time he sees her. Mainly because Manolo plans on killing all of the Ripolls and their staff, but he fails to mention that little tidbit. He plan to escape before the massacre, so their fate really doesn't matter to him.
Back downstairs, Sophia enters the living room and sees her fiancé. She wants to know why he is there. Greta forms a circle of love with the two of them. She tells them that she now supports their marriage. She wants them to get married as soon as possible. Chava walks in and witnesses the whole thing.

The biggest shock for Fausto: Greta rescinding her demand that Patricio sign a prenup agreement. Fausto knows somethings up. How long until he ferrets out the truth?
The biggest surprise: There really is a mafioso and he has a name: Manolo. I sure enjoyed him manhandling Alan. I am expecting Alan to end up in jail or dead sometime in the story and at that time will be happy to see him in long pants so he no longer looks like a chubby kid who needs a lollipop.
Again in the employee lounge we saw the 75th anniversary chocolate mugs for Abuelita Chocolate that a couple of the characters were discussing a couple of weeks back. They really do exist and come in a set of six each with their own unique design. Too funny!
In Sofía's dream sequence starring Chava from yesterday: the white sock and thong look he was sporting was not a good one.
I liked Chava signing toy race cards for the kids in the hood and playing with them.
Also yesterday, it was very telling when Aracely described Sofía's testimony in support of Chava to Chava : she said it was almost like a love letter.
One thing that always makes me laugh is at the end of the Sofía and Patricio fight scenes they just stare at each other for the longest time. I do not know how they do that without laughing because "the stare down" is goofy!
Jarifa
"Aracely, dressed as Donna Reed or June Cleaver"; "Anyway, she is single and ready to mingle if he's interested. (hint hint)"; "Lupe warns Aracely that she better handle her business and stop dressing like Mary Poppins...Sophia is trying to take your man girl!" were all wonderful.
Greta's downward spiral continues. Now, she is not only giving her blessing to Pato and Sophia, but she's trying to expedite the nuptuals, sans prenup. How far and fast she has fallen.
Sophia doesn't love Pato - I would think she can barely stand him after his tirade yesterday. There is absolutely nothing compeling her to marry him. Logic dictates she back out now.
And Alan. Leaving before all hell breaks loose. Jarifa, you nailed it with "I am expecting Alan to end up in jail or dead sometime in the story and at that time will be happy to see him in long pants so he no longer looks like a chubby kid who needs a lollipop." I'm still smirking.
My favorite scene was Matias in yet another failed flirtation with Sil. He is like a breath of fresh air. I am developing a bit of a crush. I don't know how Sil didn't laugh - it was such a cute scene.
I did feel for Irma when she looked lovingly yet sadly at her family. It appears things are about to implode.
Cynderella, this was absolutely stellar. Thank you so much.
Diana
I'm waiting for Paco to confront Greta face-to-face.
OK, I don't like Aracely because I don't like the way that she dresses. I know...I'm shallow. Lupe dresses younger than her and she's supposed to Chava's mother. Even Aracely's hair is big.
Which brings me to this. How is Lupe Chava's mother when they appear to be almost the same age?
I do not like Paco and Lupe together. The whole relationship dynamic will be complicated. Aracely wants them together so that Lupe will put in a good word for her with Chava.
Spot on with Donna Reed and Mary Poppins.
But why would Lupe even want Chava back with the girl who broke his heart? Doesn't she have enough personal experience with her Javier that "I've changed" is far easier to say than to live?
My best guess: she figures the rich boss, Sophia, has, at best, a passing infatuation with Chava and would never actually be with him for the long run?
Chava as step brother? I get Araceli and Sophia as half sisters, but Chava isn't a step-brother yet, is he? Only when/if Paco and Lupe get together, right? So you're not betting on a Greta/Paco reunion?

Maury Povich needs to resolve this baby daddy stuff regarding Sofia LOL.
My boyfriend's mother dates my father. I'm in competition with my sister for my boyfriend's affection.
Here's another thing. In the Bible there is a story about Joseph. Joseph had 10 half brothers and one full brother, named Benjamin. Joseph and Benjamin were their father's favorite because he loved their mother the most out his wives. The other brothers were jealous and sold Joseph into slavery.
OK...why did I tell you that story? Consuelo was not Paco's favorite. Paco loved Greta and still does. When he finds out that Sofia belongs to him if Sofia belongs to him, whose side will he take in the epic battle for Chava's love? In other words, will Sophia become the favorite daughter since he loved her mother the most? Throw me in the shallow water before I get to deep. (Edie Brickell).
Aracely wants Chava back? That's not going to be easy, since he worships the ground Sofia walks on. Unless Sofia is actually stupid enough to actually marry Pato-- then I can see Chava trying to move on by dating Aracely again.
Paco at some point, will confront her face to face.
I love how women dressed in the 50s, but Araceli does need to think more Brigitte Bardot and Sophia Loren, less Donna and June.
My take is Lupe just wants Chava to be happy. She was gruff with Araceli at first when she saw she wanted him back after dumping him. Once Lupe sees how Sofia feels about Chava, my guess is Lupe will be all for prince getting with the Ripoll queen.
Of course, it would help if Sofia doesn't marry Pato right away.
Bring on the mafia attack. If that is what it’s going to take for Alexa to finally tell what’s going on. Of course, telling Fausto would be a lot less painful.
Jarifa, Chava in a thong? I started to go back and check it out. Oh, flip-flops. :D
My favorite scene was between Matías and Silvana when she discovered him sleeping in her office. They were so cute in that scene. I love his confidence, impudence, and optimism. How can she not be charmed?
I also get a kick out of Alan. How can we possibly take seriously a lisping villain who wears short britches and pastel jackets?
Though Irma seems to be doing her darnedest to be unlikable, I felt sorry for her when she came into the room weeping as Armando and Nando playing. Armando certainly wasn't very attentive or supportive.
I loved the dress that Lupe was wearing. It was very attractive (though modest), fit her nicely, and the color scheme reminded me of the famous Pear Robe.

I am on the mend and doing better. I'd like to thank xInt, Corazon Salvje but especially Cynderella for her triple duty this past week.
Pato is a tool and I have to say, what the hey happened to Greta. How in the world does she think that Paco is the Anon blackmailer. She needs to seriously rethink her positon and also Fausto needs to find out what is going on. And Pato wanting Commandate Fuzzy to keep investigating. Com Fuzzy will find Pato's fingeprints all over that money. I wish Ripoll had a computer geek. Then they could find out where that Anon note came from. Maybe Lucas or Dani.
I aslo want to see what Sofie does now. The funny thing is is that Octavio knew that Sofie wasn't a Ripoll but left the running of the company to her anyway. It's still a family owned company and if Pato tries some finanicail shenanigans he'll be caught. Sofie isn't stupid as Pato seems to think. I really want to see how Sofie handles this.
So far i l almost like all the characters except Irma,Lupe,Alan and Lexie..
Irma because she is so annoying at being greedy,Lupe because her storyline is boring and i am not really interested in her..I liked Alexa at first but she is incredibly annoying at handling her debt situation and acts like a complete snob at times..
I hate hate Alan so much,i cannot stand him.I honestly hope that the mob kills him off, would be a good riddance!
I wonder who the final villian will be ,Pato,Renzi,Silvana or Peralta? I think that Pat wont live long,he is losing the battle.I think that Renzi/Pat will take out Peralta ,( Leading his son to come from abroad for revenge) and turns into the final villain.Or Silvy will troll them all and become the last one to fall. I dont expect Mr. Peralta to last very long in this "Game of Thrones" . Of course if Pato won it would be too obvious but i want Renzi to kill Pat for temporary glory( We see Pat a lot but we barely see Renzi ) until Silvy takes him out and is the last one to fall.
We have two telenovelas going on Uni right now that both feature somewhat inexplicably "hot" men. Inexplicable in that the best anyone on Caray can muster is that they're "cute" or part of a cute couple, or "ok" looking but , in any case, clearly not up to the usual standard.
Also, Jorge Salinas, the lead in Mi Corazon, now age-appropriately cast as the middle aged pater familias, was subject to some similar commentary during Que Bonita Amor when cast as the young-ish, care-free bachelor. Some folks noted he wasn't as young as he used to be and was better off keeping the Charro suit on.
Well, our Chava, Pedro Fernandez has been seen in a Charro for thirty-plus years. And back in the day, he was already a TV/movie star, playing romantic lead, as Pedrito, to Lucerito and other starlets of the day.
I think it safe to say that Lucero still has "it." Apparently Pedrito doesn't, and maybe he never did to Caray standards, but he sure was all over the place back in the day, on screen as well as on record.
...
An older, thicker, version, to be sure, but probably still holding up a lot better than the 45 year old sitting across the table from them.
In Mi Corazon, we have Adrian Uribe playing Ana's ex, "Johnny," who has inexplicably been trying to rake in extra money as a male stripper and stand up comedian. Now, Johnny's been somewhat abusive to Silvia Navarro's Ana, but the negative comments about Johnny seem to have as much or more to do with the attractiveness of Adrian Uribe as they do with Johnny the character.
I may have gone against the grain here with my comments about Pedro not seeming "that" bad looking, but I'm on board with the Johnny situation. What were they thinking?
It all began to make sense when I found out Uribe is a long standing fixture of Mexican TV comedies. In addtion to stand-up, hosting, and monologue, his most recent role seems to have been as a sort of Jerry Lewis-ish bellboy on a sitcom set at a hotel. Subtle, sophisticated humor, it is not.
But a hit it is.
This is from a July 2014 Univision press release:
On Saturday night, Univision ranked as the #1 broadcast network among Adults 18-34 and #2 among Adults 18-49, out-performing ABC, CBS, and FOX in each demographic. Airing 8-9 p.m., comedy “Hotel Todo Incluido” ranked as the #1 program for the evening among Adults 18-34.
http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/07/09/for-the-third-consecutive-week-univision-ranked-as-the-top-network-among-adults-18-34/281076/
And then it turns out Uribe went from placing on Bailando por un Sueño, sort of a Mexican version of Dancing with the Stars, to being host.
...
If everyone else already know about Pedro and Adrian's level of stardom, sorry for the bother, but I'm guessing I'm not the only one here with little background in Mexican pop culture.

Again, do not let me stop anyone from expresses their love for Pedro. I will hold my tongue if you choose to do so. ;-)
Cynderella
If you keep recapping you can expound on the troll-like deficiencies of Pedro to your heart's content! If it helps motivate you to type out even one more recap to come up with novel ways to describe his loathsomeness, go for it!
I think his history of stardom and such explains why the producers think "we" will buy it, but I don't think he would be my cup of tea if I were in that market.
While I agree with whoever it was that said that the initial connection between Sophia and Chava made more sense as a "call of the blood" like reaction than a pure visual "wow" moment, you've convinced me that there is other dialog that sounds like it was written with some other actor in mind.
I missed those details as I tried to grasp for even basic comprehension, and I'd miss even more without you and the other bloggers' hard work. Thanks for keeping on despite Pedro's pathetic puss.
We have some idea that Silvana's animus toward the Ripolls has to do with her mother, even if the details aren't clear. Do we have any hint as to why Patricio hates Sophia and the Ripolls? He seems way too emotionally involved for a random thug. It seems beyond greed and into vindictiveness, but for what?
Unlike primo Renzi who seems new to the plot, Pato has been with the company for a good while, right?
Anyone see any chance that the mafia after Allan and the syndicate after Ripoll will figure out each other's game and wipe each other out while squabbling over who gets the Ripoll land/fortune leaving our family(ies?) to their respective happily ever afters?
CinF
Cynderella
Chris- Thanks for the breakdown of why Pedro would be a popular and nostalgic galan choice for much of the target audience (not us). I've liked him since Hasta Que el Dinero... and I saw a bit of a movie with him and Lucero from when they were kids, Coqueta.
