Mexico Episode #39
Amigos,
Poor Madelaine has had a relapse of the flu and is going to
the hospital to get rehydrated. Please send all your positive and healing
thoughts her way. Here is a quick mini-cap from memory. Enjoy!
Since Mads is always giving us great ear-worms to take with us throughout the day, I thought I'd provide one in the form of a fan video for our star-crossed lovers Alejandra and German, to the tune of Sabes by Reik.
Since Mads is always giving us great ear-worms to take with us throughout the day, I thought I'd provide one in the form of a fan video for our star-crossed lovers Alejandra and German, to the tune of Sabes by Reik.
Ale and German:
-German, aka Big Sexy, has made his way into Ale’s bedroom
and her arms. In the midst of a passionate kiss and embrace, he disarms her apprehensions
and fears by saying simply that he loves her. They make love, as he caresses the
scar on her face and kisses her tenderly on her cheek, neck, and then lips.
(Uni cut out some of this, of course.)
-As they bask in the afterglow, German suddenly grows
serious. He thinks now is the time for them to speak with the truth, and
nothing but the truth. Alejandra closes in on herself and says this should have
never happened. German calls b.s. on that. He loves her. She loves him. They’ve
just had an amazing love-making session. She’s a grown woman and they should be
able to speak about this. He never expected to be the first man in her life—they
aren’t living in the last century, after all. He talks about how at first she
was afraid of even letting him touch her. But he’s happy to know that in
addition to all the love they have for each other, they can also feel pleasure.
He thinks it’s good for a woman to both be able to give and receive pleasure.
He would like Ale to tell him what’s going on/what happened. He can’t help her
if she doesn’t tell him. Ale snaps that she doesn’t need help!
-Before they can really get deeper into this conversation, Luisa comes in and gets an eyeful. She tells German to get out of there, because Esteban is in a terrible mood, and who knows what he’ll do if he finds German in Ale’s room. German dresses in 2 seconds and jumps through the window. LOL! Luisa helps Ale make the bed, so that Rosa doesn’t become suspicious about why it’s such a mess in the middle of the day. Luisa is highly impressed and assumes this means that Ale and German made up. Ale vacillates between conflicting emotions and says she feels so many different things. She’s on Cloud 9 because this is the first time she’s ever made love, and it was AMAZING! It was so natural and beautiful, but also unplanned. (Pregnancy alert?) She doesn’t think she and German should have let themselves get carried away. Luisa doesn’t see why not, since she’s sure Ale and German will be walking down the aisle soon. Ale doesn’t look so hopeful for a happily ever after with her prince.

The Palacios:
-Norberto is forced to back down on his aggression towards
Cris in the hospital. Cris is not going to withdraw her support of German’s art
or take back the offer to do a joint exposition. She and Acacia leave to head
off on their spa getaway.
-Norberto turns his threats and abuse to Juliana. She better
make German forget this art stuff, or he’ll kick German out AND reveal that he
isn’t his bio-daddy!
-Manuel shares his video game business idea with his mom and
dad. Norberto isn’t supportive at first, but all it takes is a mention of the
fire and a pointed look from Manuel to get him to change his mind. Julie and
Norbie are just happy that if he looks like he’s now taking life seriously,
Acacia will start to take him seriously.
Esteban:
-In the middle of his rant to Rubio about how he’s losing it
with Acacia being away, Juan Carlos walks in. He asks if that’s how much he loves
Cris. Este gulps. He was this close to being caught. He goes along with JC’s
line of thinking. He tells JC how he and Cris argued. JC is on Cris’ side, but
appreciates how much Este loves Cris and Acacia.
-JC puts his foot down about the rebuilding of the bodega. Even if Ulises won’t be involved in the construction,
JC insists that they will use his design because it’s the best. JC will go see
Ulises about paying for the design and signing some kind of agreement about it.
Este rages and pouts about it.
-After JC leaves, Rubio serves as the voice of reason. This
is how far Este has fallen, when Rubio starts to regularly serve as his voice
of reason. Rubio tells him he needs to get a friggin’ grip if he doesn’t want
anyone else to catch on to how he feels about Acacia. He came close with JC.
Rubio points out that Este can never have Acacia, and if he tries, he’ll lose
everything. Este gets mad, thinking that Rubio is implying that he’s a gold-digger
and the only thing important to him is his status. He LOVES Cris! Rubio says
that's what he means. He’ll lose Cris AND the ranch and status, if he pursues
Acacia. Is it really worth it?
-Este goes to Alonso’s tomb (would they please let this guy
rest in peace!), and rages about how Alonso was the one who left a financial mess
for Cris to clean up, and how he’s the one who helped her do that. He loves
Cris. Blah, blah, blah. But he can’t understand why he’s having these feeling
for Acacia. (I am sure Alonso is rolling over in his grave and wishing he could
kick Este’s ass.)
-Este mopes around the house all night looking at Acacia’s
picture in her bedroom, his wedding picture with Cris in their bedroom, and
stroking Cris’ empty side of the bed.
Perla:
-Perla goes to see Memo at the drug farm to thank him for
saving her the other day. He says he won’t be able to do it again because Dan
threatened to kill him. He asks Perla to be careful.
Ulises:
-JC goes to see Ulises about signing over the bodega design.
Uli does so without payment. He tries to explain why Nuria was in his house.
This is news to JC! He doesn’t let Uli explain further and now fully supports
Acacia breaking up with him and Uli staying away from her.
-Nuria enters to hang all over Uli as she shows him their
picture from the event on the front page of the business section of the paper.
JC is not pleased. Uli asks Nuria to explain to JC what she was doing at his
house. She hesitates a few beats too long, and JC thinks he’s got the picture.
He leaves angrily. Uli gets angry at Nuria for the hesitation. Her excuse is
that she didn’t want to get him in trouble by saying he was drunk and didn’t
know what to say. She cries. He buys it.
-Later, Nuria comes in crying and hands Uli her letter of resignation
since everyone thinks she’s a slut. Uli falls for it and rips up the letter.
Nuria smiles evilly.
Cris and Acacia:
-Cris and Acacia’s stop in an art gallery on their way to
the spa. They run into Hector (Arturo Peniche) who is showing some of the
pieces in the gallery to visitors. He and Cris are very happy to see each
other. He is the guy Cris was dating when she was in high school, right before
she met Alonso and fell head over heels in love with him. Both Alonso and
Hector were in college at the time. Despite having more things in common with
Hector (art, dancing, etc.) she still chose Alonso. They catch up. He became a
lawyer, like his dad, moved to Spain, practiced law there, got married, had a
son, got divorced, moved back to Mexico, inherited his dad’s law firm, and owns
this art gallery. He asks about Alonso, and Acacia runs off crying. Cris
explains that Al died years ago. Hector gives his condolences.
-Cris calms Acacia down, and they speak to Hector again. He
charms them both, and asks them to have dinner at his house, which is just a
half an hour away from their spa. Cris turns him down. They speak of her photographs
and she tells him about her planned show with German. He offers his gallery for
their show. He gives them his business card, and they make plans to set up the
show soon. Note: Cris never mentions that she is remarried.
-At the spa, Cris and Acacia relax in the pool and enjoy
themselves. They speak about the men on their minds—Ulises and Esteban. Cris
finally admits that she and Esteban argued because he raised his voice to her.
He’s never done it before and she won’t tolerate it. She speaks to Acacia about
how a woman must respect herself and be respected in a relationship. But she
assures Acacia that she and Este will be fine. It’s not like he was unfaithful
like Ulises, which would be unforgivable!
-Acacia decides to help Cris and Este reconcile by calling
Este secretly and asking him to come to the spa. Esteban is so excited that
ACACIA wants him to go there.
Advances: Both Ulises and Esteban show up at the spa. Uli
and Acacia seem to reconcile. Cris doesn’t seem thrilled to see Esteban.

Last night for the first time I really started to hope for the death of Esteban. If he can't get over this lust/obsession/whatever for Acacia, then I want him to die some kind of valiant death before Cris gets wind of his feelings for her daughter. Then I want Cris and Hector to hook up. :) I really don't want to see the relationship between Cris and Acacia ruined by Este.
I am 5(!) days behind, but I had to stop in and say I loved this title!

All- Mads was able to email me that she was on her way to the hospital, so she's ok, just really dehydrated and tired. But we really should encourage her to take it easy.

What part of mother-daughter alone time does Acacia not understand? So annoying that she called Esteban to join them. Cris and Este are perfectly capable of sorting out things themselves, they don't need her help. Idiot.
Este's got some nerve visiting Alonzo’s tomb and telling him about his feelings for Acacia. Ick. Este seems to think he's the better man cause he saved the ranch. Buddy, there's no justifying your feelings for Acacia.
Luisa was a hoot. She catches German in bed with Ale because she failed to wait for "Come in!" before entering and then she can't take her eyes off German (but who can blame her?).
Vivi, I've been wondering which of the three is the inconvenient one. It's definitely not Cris. And at this point, I can't buy a Cris-Este together happily ever after ending. Este seems to be painting himself into a corner that he can never get out of. Maybe a valiant death would be for the best.

Este has got to stop monologuing his desires to Rubio. I find it muy creepy and odd. What makes Este use Rubio as a sounding board? Were they buds back when Este was a humble, noncreepy farm laborer ?

Vivi, "This is how far Este has fallen, when Rubio starts to regularly serve as his voice of reason" was perfect. It certainly reflects that Este has now indeed traversed the long road from hero to zero (which is the opposite of what Susanlynn hoped would not occur yesterday) in record distance.
"Alejandra closes in on herself" and "Nuria comes in crying and hands Uli her letter of resignation since everyone thinks she’s a slut. Uli falls for it and rips up the letter. Nuria smiles evilly" were among my many favorites. And of course your title was inspired.
For the first time, I am disenchanted with Ale. If she cannot confide in German now, I fear she will never be able to. Instead of gaining strength, she frustratingly continues to cling to her cocoon of faulty insulation and isolation, knowing this will not end well if she continues to keep quiet.
"He says he won’t be able to do it again because Dan threatened to kill him". How cavalier - so much for Memo's reported love for Perla.
I cringed when Uli tore up Nuria's resignation letter. What is really frustrating to me is I think he does see some of her manipulations. Why is he deluding himself?

Can we forgive him for lusting after Acacaia? Well, I can as long as he doesn't act on it. Can we forgive him if he cheats on Cris with Acacia? I know I couldn't.
Perhaps it's coincidental that another dashing man has appeared. Hector (who along with Arturo) is too delicious of a dish not be grabbed while it is warmed.

Vivi, (they should let Alonso rest!) and Alonso probably wants to kick Este, is so true and soooo funny.
When they show Este enter the crypt i thought it was kinda weird but what you said is so true. I am wondering who will be alonso's next visitor. Will it be Norbie? Rubio? Rosa? All of them????

Don't normally post because too much of this TN bothers me but Acacia knows very well what she is doing teasing Este like she does. She isn't 9 any more. I think she is competing with her mother to get back at her for letting her live with her grandparents for so long. It may not all be on a conscious level but it is there.
Este is for lack of another word a perv. I simply can't see he and Cris riding off into the sunset at the end. Some things are unforgivable and lusting after once' daughter even if he never acts on it is one of them. Lets face it AP has it all over CM in the looks department so i'm hoping that is how it ends and frankly i don't give a rats ass about who Acacia or Este end up with,

I forgot to say poor Uli. JC was not very nice to him either. I know Nuria pulled another little stunt, but still.
He is such a nice guy he doesnt deserve the entire famiky turning on him. I so wish he would say to__h__with Acacia and get him another real estate agent too. I agree acaia is an idiot for calling Este, and you know she be hugging hugging and hugging him. If it were my daughter, I would have put stop to that. His actions inexcusable, but his pure thoughts started somehow and all that very close hugging, makes me wonder.

Anon, love your input. We must have been typing ours at same time. I so agree w you on Everything. I also believe Aca been in love w Este since she was nine, that is reason (perhaps subconsciously) that she was so very angry when Chris married him. She is super super jealous person. Not long ago she was mad cause Este bought her mom the camera. Whats up w that nonsense??
Niecie- I don’t get why Acacia feels the need to meddle in Cris and Este’s marital affairs either. She’s just defeated the whole purpose of their trip. I definitely think that Este is the inconvenient one!

Diana- Although I am extremely frustrated with Ale, I still understand how her background and situation has her paralyzed with fear of physical harm coming to German and others, and of how everyone will react when her truth comes out. Of course we know that this will just make things worse for her. I think she needs a good lawyer and a great therapist, more than she needs a boyfriend right now—even as wonderful as German is.
As for Memo, let’s not forget that he is not a good guy. But I’m not so sure that I believe that if he saw Dan attacking Perla again that he wouldn’t jump in to save her. I just don’t think he would stand aside and watch.
I think I might have a bit more sympathy for Esteban if I saw him actively fighting his obsession for Acacia. But instead he stalks her when she’s swimming, tries to drive her boyfriend away, manipulates her emotions with regard to her boyfriend, and tries to keep her as physically close to him as possible. He is actively fueling this fire. I’m looking forward to seeing how adding Hector to the mix affects Este’s behavior.

Gringo- Yes. Nuria has won a few rounds now. I’m not sure if either Uli or Acacia (even combined) are a match for her. As for how Este’s death (just my suggestion, not a spoiler) would affect Acacia, I think having/coming close to having an affair with her mother’s husband would be more devastating.
Novella lover- I can just see Norberto going into Alonso’s crypt to gloat about killing him, and now getting his hands on his lands if their kids marry. Maybe we’ll eventually get a Alonso ghost sighting. I wouldn’t mind since he’s my hot telenovio Marcelo Cordoba!

Qualifier on my last comment-- Not that there's anything wrong with cartoon tn characters. They can be a lot of fun. Fun is NOT a word I would use to describe this tn, but it is good, and to me, enthralling.

I figured Ale and German would "go there". I think Ale is trying not to let on that she wanted it. She may have been forced into sexual acts before, but this was real; it was because of true love.
Nuria is getting on my last nerves with her crocodile tears and evil smiles. I hope Ulises figures it out soon. I wonder how he finds out where Acacia is tonight. I figured Ale and German would "go there". I think Ale is trying not to let on that she wanted it. She may have been forced into sexual acts before, but this was real; it was because of true love.

Hey TF! Yep, you were the first to predict that Ale and German would soon be doing the horizontal tango. I though it would take longer, considering how Ale freaked out last time. Now I'm worried about a pregnancy, since Ale mentioned how "unplanned" it was. Hmmm...
