Mi Corazon es tuyo #57 DissaBella goes beserk with the twins new prank... a bit overboard... Fernando finds out about the dress for Alicia

i appologize this was a bit rushed, had a steering committee meeting at church... anyway, here we go!
Way to go Orioles and Cards!!

Refritos:

Johnny with the receptionist..

Fernando admits to Nando he is dying of jealousy of his brother… Nando tells Fernando he has not smiled since he married DissaBella … no scientist needed to know you are not happy. Do you think you are doing any of us a favor to know our father is not happy and did not fight for the woman he loves?

Ana arguing with twins about both of them forgetting the Spanish notebooks… Luz tries to cover for them, zipped mouth. Ana suspects there is something they are hiding…

Lo Nuevo: \

Diego won’t tell Ana what he has planned…

Nando asks DissaBella how is the baby going. She says ‘I feel it’ (LIAR!!) .. Fanny arrives asking for Ximena. Doctor comes out, she had a crisis, had to sedate her, can’t keep her here for long. She will have to be transferred to the Psych unit. And for that he will need her mother’s authorization. She would be locked up in the Psych ward. Nando impactado.

At house, Bruno serves YoMama her usual martini and snacks… she gets the blues and tells him she feels very lonely… Bruno willing to listen and talk…

Fanny asks Fernando about Ana… Diego and Sebas/Alicia arrive to the clinic to support Nando.. DissaBella rolls her eyes in disgust. Nando very thankful, group hug with Frida and the kids, Fernando and Diego join in, DissaBella looks at them like ‘these are clowns’…

YoMama spills her upset feelings to Bruno about the way DissaBella treats her, tells Bruno how she grew up poor, she worked in everything, she used to run errands, took care of kids… she discovered eventually she could sing, she would sing in the public transport trucks singing with her guitar… (Now Bruno is the one that seems to be recalling old times)… Bruno tells her he too has had hard times, and Don Nico rescued him. yoMama notes they have much in common… she was rescued by her husband… he always respected her and is the best that happened in her life (besides my DAUGHTERS …[NOOOOO SAY IT ISNT SO!!!!])

Diego will drop Ana at her house.

Fernando tells Nando he is concerned Nando has already missed two days of school. I get it that you are in love… or I don’t get it. Ximena is always depressed or angry all the time, can’t find anything you two have in common. Nando keeps insisting love has no explanation… what do you Fanny have in common with a messenger… or you, Dad, with Ana who takes care of the kids… Fernando points that neither Ana or Leon are ‘ill’. Fanny says we don’t want you to sink. Ximena’s mom arrives. She has an attitude from the get go ‘how is my daughter?’ (Fernando looks at her like 'oh my!')

At the studios (still, Johny had told the receptionist he would wait for the guy to come back)… he daydreams of kissing Jennifer, but then is awakened by receptionist to tell him Mr Del Prado will see him now. Johnny jumps up.

DissaBella is sleeping in her bed but fully dressed… The twins and Luz come in quietly, then they put a fake mustache and beard on her. (the huge curled up mustache)… they manage not to wake her up, and leave.

Johnny with Mr Del Prado… (el comico del antro = the comedian from the club) .. the guy has a proposal for Johnny. Johnny won’t let him speak…. Can you tell me a joke in 5 seconds? ‘why did they throw the tamarind to jail? For its pulp!... The producer says very good, did it in 4 seconds. The actual opportunity will give you 10 seconds. Zas!! We are at the club with Johnny debriefing Nico and Diego… Nico and Diego say hey, congrats! Good news! Lets toast to them! Nico says that is good news, now I have some bad news… the mechanic shop manager said he will be firing Johnny. Johnny is deflated…

In the dressing room, Ana is showing Jennifer the dress she made for Alicia. Ana is excited. Jenn likes it very much. Jennifer says that the love Ana has for Alicia shows real easy… Jen says she wishes they had a dress like this when they turned 15. Ana asks Jenn if she will be at the party. Surely since Nico will take her. Jenn tells Ana she will get married in a month. They hug and scream in celebration.

At clinic, Doctor and Ximena’s mom are ready signing papers to lock Ximena at Psych ward. Nando is angry ranting at Ximena’s mom, directly accusing her of what is happening to Ximena. You never pay attention to Ximena. Mom says Ximena has been ill since she was little. She has had the best doctors. Even then, she has always blamed her… if she won’t care for herself or take her meds, it is obvious she will get worse. (Fernando has been trying to stop Nando from ranting at her, even has to step in between them, which does not mean Fernando does not agree with Nando, its just Fernando does not want to let Nando get in trouble since this is not his mess to deal with, as right as he might be). After Ximena’s mom leaves in a huff, Fernando finally manages to calm Nando down, ‘can’t do any more’.

YoMama is watching tv… she is arguing with some guy on tv that is hitting his woman for making salty soup… she keeps talking to them as if they could hear her…

DissaBella comes in, and she has not even noticed her mustache… so Dissa nags at YoMama about watching novellas… DissaBella has to turn the TV off for YoMama to finally notice her face… YoMama starts laughing, still not telling her why. Dissabella finally touches her face, grabs a hand mirror and screams NOOOOOO!!!! Once she sees herself. She immediately can tell who is behind this… Sebas, the twins and Luz are hiding lauging… DissaBella throws the mirror on the floor which shreds… Then DissaBella runs after the scared kids.. DissaBella yells at Sebas, who is guarding the closed door after the little ones went in. Sebas yells at her accusing her of breaking the notebooks and being to blame for them getting in trouble… ‘you don’t know who you are messing with!’ DissaBella grabs Sebas and slams him on the floor, he is hurt… Then she yells at him that he is an umbearable ‘engendro’… ‘your mom died already, she no longer exists.. she abandoned you forever…’ Sebas yells at her not to mess with his mom… ‘the only one in this house now is me, and I won’t leave… get that in your head’… ‘you are really evil and we will get you out of here!! WITCH!!!’ DissaBella leaves in a huff, the twins hug Sebastian, they all are crying. (someone get the ‘Bat-Ana’ red phone and give her a call…’)

At the hospital, Enreeky offers Fanny a ride home, ‘someone can come for your car later!’ (naïve Fanny accepts the offer).

Sebas, the twins and Luz are discussing that DissaBella is evil… VERY evil. (they hug each other for comfort).

At the clinic, Ximena wakes up… sees her mom there… The mom is very nasty to her ’HAlleluya you woke up!’ Mom lies to XImena saying Nando is the one that asked her to get Ximena admitted to the Psych ward… ‘seemingly he is tired of your tantrums and blackmails’. ‘you have never loved me!’ ‘I can’t trump my lifestyle or my professional success… for a daughter I never wanted and never asked to have… I came only to make sure the best doctors care for you… but I am leaving today… I only hope someday you will be successful like I am!’ (wow! This is a new standard for model mothers … NOT!!)

At dressing room, Ana gets a call from Fernando. He tells her what happened with Ximena… How is Nando? … devastated… Ana asks permission to come back to the house to see Nando. Fernando very thankful to her.

Ana has one last ‘round’ at the Chicago before she can head there so she tells him will be there in about an hour and a half. Some new men in suits are there to see the show. This time Ana is not on the tube but behind a seductive curtain with a hoddie on… slowly makes it out to the tube area. Again Ana is outstanding on the tube.

EnReeky and Fanny arrive somewhere… Reeky has heard the story of Nando and Ximena (apparently, sorry Fanny but this is not a story that you should feel privileged to tell outsiders…) again EnReeky holds Fanny’s hand when she says she is affected by seeing Nando so devastated.

Diego is giving Ana a ride to the house… ‘that tarantula could say anything, but if the kids need me, I will be there’… Sebas calls Ana… he is crying, begs Ana to get there ASAP… will be there in about 5 minutes. Sebas asks her to RUN… Ana tells Diego that Sebas is in trouble… something is wrong… very wrong.

Enreeky is at the house, Fernando invites him to a drink. Bruno comes down… asks about Ximena. Fernando asks Bruno for a whiskey for Reeky. Fernando asks Reeky how are things at the office ‘perfect! New project is moving along like a swiss watch’.

In her bedroom, DissaBella took the mustache glue off, her skin looks deep red, as if it was irritated by the glue… YoMama gives up in trying to help her… ‘you declared war on the twins ‘ ‘we did! Both of us!’

DissaBella is stomping her feet and grunting and tensing her body yelling she hates the kids!!

Ana and Diego arrives… Reeky asks ‘didn’t we agree to address each other informally (hablarnos de Tu)’? ‘no, I don’t recall that’. Bruno is standing yawning, he looks very tired. Ana surprised Fernando is drinking ‘I thought it was strange, weird, different’. Ana is carrying the tiara/shoes and dress. Diego is about to bring Ana the dress and shoes upstairs, he tells Fernando that Ana made this dress for Alicia for her sweet 15.

Reeky asks why did Ana notice surprise at Fernando having a drink. Diego explains that Fernando seldom drinks. Fernando confirms that. Fernando recalls one of the few times he has drunk (the first time he danced with Ana and kissed her, he was a bit wasted).

Ana comes upstairs. Directly to the boys room. Finds Sebastian crying on the floor. Ana asks if he will be quiet, which she used to do to the nuns at the orphanage.

Meanwhile Diego is opening the dress on Ana’s old room bed. Diego says the dress is really pretty ‘you don’t know how much I love you Ana’.

Nando tells Fanny he feels guilty for not doing more for Ximena. Fanny repeats he is not responsible for Ximena. Have to understand she is ill. Mind issues are brushed off by some people. Nando says he is afraid to lose Ximena. She is his whole life. Fanny gives him a comforting hug.

At the green house, Johnny is talking to Nico… He says Nico looks worried… Nico brushes it off, been a long day. Nico does not want to talk about Jenny. ‘we both know why, I know what you feel for her’. Johny promises he has never disrespected Jenny. He also respects Nico… have to resign himself to Nico and Jenn marrying. Johnny cries in front of Nico… (we could tell Nico is being a bit tortured by this).

Fernando tells Fanny Ana came back to support Nando.

Fernando walks Reeky to the door. Fanny and Diego stay in living room. She tells him that Leon was jealous of Reeky… she now feels she will not go back with Leon. Leon meanwhile is putting Mau to sleep. He is still crying, looking at another drawing he made of Fanny (this time it does not look so much like her) he writes ‘mi bonita’ on the drawing. Then cries holding it.

DissaBella is still trying to fix her face… still looks red… she keeps tantrumming that she will get payback. This woman is just a bloop/blip away from being the one that should be locked in the Psych ward…

Sebas asks Ana not to yell at the boys. ‘the witch’ /’Isabella’ Sebas tells Ana that DissaBella was the one that stole the notebooks of the kids… then the twins put the mustache on her… when she realized she got crazy like a murderer and when he covered up the door, she told him ‘engendro’ ‘ escuincle odioso’ and that he should realize his mom died… that she abandoned him forever… then she threw him on the floor.

Previews: Ana goes after Isa… ‘never again mess with my kids!!’

Great recap, Marta. Saw parts of this, including the Attack of the Angry Mustache, Ximena's crazy narcissistic Mama, and Ana's dance.

What a couple of horrible "mothers." I was almost shaking in terror. Ana did well in comforting Seabas and the little boys hung in there with some hugs. Luz, too.

I don't always watch a complete episode anymore--combination of boring and distressing, more than amusing. The familia Lascurain needs a group discount rate on therapy more each day.

Great work, Marta.

This novela seems to be saying that ambitious women hate children. Is this some sort of message that only nice women stay home and raise children?

More tomorrow; I need a few zzzzzzzzzs.

Great recap, Marta! Very enjoyable. Loved the "Bat-Ana red phone" comment.

It was like déjà vous all over again : ) seeing Isabela poke Sebastián in the head: was I watching LQLVMR and Graciela? Isabela sure was as excellent of a head poker as Graciela and proved to be just as nasty.

Lots of good laughs until Isabela unleashed her cruelty on Sebastián.

Ximena once she is stabilized on her meds might as well move in with the Lascuráins because she has nothing/nobody to go back to on ner home front.

Glad Nando called Fernando and Fanny out on talking out of both sides of their mouths in reference to "love."

Can't wait to see Ana confront Isabela. What will Fernando say when he finds out about the whole ugly episode? Insure hope Ana or someone tells him sooner rather thanlater.

Thanks Martaivett for a great super recap! I have starting phasing in and out of this one a bit over the last couple of weeks, but the last few nights have brought me back.

Meanwhile, did I miss something? Is Isabella not pregnant? That was a very toned-down Yolanda we saw tonight, maybe they are starting a personality-makeover on her. Creepy Enrique is giving me the chills and not in a good way. I still feel bad for Leon. Hope Diego sticks around for awhile. Dreading the quince dress showdown.

J in Oregon

J in Oregon, Isabella is like 10 weeks pregnant at this point.

Jarifa

Thanks, Marta!

If they're going down the road that Yola is Ana's mother, I wish they had picked a different actor to play Yola. Don't buy CS as being Ana's mother, or Isa's for that matter.

When does Ana rehearse?

Marta:
I think you did a fantastic job with this recap for a really horrible episode.

I'm still super upset over the absolutely awful and terribly cruel names Isabruja called Sebastian and the way she threw him or knocked him to the floor. He hit his head on the wall which could have had resulted in serious consequences.

This action and the horrendous name calling was the lowest point yet in this supposedly comedy novela.

I'm still reeling from Isabruja calling Sebastian "engendro". This word is si much worse to me in Spanish than the literal translation to English. Only a truly evil person (at their core) calls an innocent child this awful name and verbally abuses a child in this manner.

And what is this about IkkyLizard acting like he is a member of the family and being brought in on important family happenings. For goodness sakes the guy was just hired.

For a successful businessman, Fernando is just plain dumb in the real world.

Yes, it really bothered me that Enrique was there in the first place, then when Fernando told him he didn't have to stay he comes up with, "your family is my family" WHAT? And stupid Fernando just goes, "doh! Okay." Idiot! And Fanny is just as bad. How ignorant is she to let her creepy boss drive her home when she had her own car there? La Familia Clueless.

Thank you, Marta, for the great recap!

This capitulo bothered me for all the reasons everyone mentioned:

1. The Xime-Nando plot cannot end well. Xime's situation looks bleak, and her medical issues and family dysfunction will overwhelm Nando. He's 17 and cannot handle it. Also, I did not realize Nando's age before last night. If Nando is 17 and Xi is 19 (or older), she might be considered a pedophile. The fact that Nando's family condoned/celebrated his sexual experience with a legal adult horrifies me. (Urban, add this plot line to your taboo list for me, please.)

2. We sufficiently disliked Isabruja without her resorting to cruel, deceased-mother taunts and vile name-calling. Sebas, Luz, and the clones must leave; they are in emotional, psychological, and, possibly, physical danger.

3. Bruja Mayor's personality shift from gold-digging, voodoo-doll-poking, homework-shredding bruja to sympathetic mama doesn't ring true at all. Isabruja adopted her values and behavior from this naca.

These themes do not incorporate well into a lighthearted comedy.

Have a great day on the patio, All!

EB:
So well said!

Could one consider IkkyLizard a pedophile also with regards to Fanny? Guess not because of her age, but I want my vomit bag handy if this storyline continues.

I just checked up on that legal issue. The age of consent in Mexico varies from 12 to 15, so no dice. The one thing that could cover the situation is the "Corruption of Minors" law that would get Ximena in trouble if she got Nando to have sex with her by way of deception.

However, there is no way that would happen. Nando is too smart for anyone to believe that and the case would get laughed out of court.

This also answers the question about Fanny. Reeky is not a pedophile in the legal sense and she is not a minor (under the age of 18). However, she is not up to the task of dealing with anyone like him and he will take full advantage of that. There is also a hint that he has done this before.

“Did you hear that? She called that poor boy a freak!”

“That is monstrous, Hermes,” said Zeus. “A woman like that should never be anywhere near a child.”

“Are all ambitious mortal women like her?”

“No, but she will be like Ximena's mother if this is not dealt with soon. Fernando should never have married her before knowing her better.”

“Without proof he will never believe that she is this cruel. Someone needs to record this sort of thing and play it back to him.”

“Her timing couldn't have been better. Nando is distracted by Ximena's problems. The twins, though, seem to know enough about technology to do this.”

“Of course!” But Hermes paused. “The problem is that their father might be distracted by the disobedience. He needs to hear this as it happens.”

Fanny's problem is that she is gullible due to very little experience in the real world outside of the controlled "home/school" environment. Her decisions in reaction to Enrique seem stupid but she simply does not know better or what he could be up to. Hey, he is a trusted employee working as a vice-president for her father. Unfortunately, her experience with this letch will be her education.

Jarifa

Boy, Marta, you had a humdinger of an episode to recap. In your very able hands we got a gem. Thanks so much.

For me, this episode was filled with all kinds of dislike.
- Don't like the way the Ximena situation is being handled. Making the mother a carbon copy of a future Isabitch was a bit much (though I'm glad she was not connected to Diego as I feared.) She does need some professional assistance, and making it look like the Psyche ward is the next gate of hell does not send a good message on how a patient with violent or self-harming tendencies needs to be cared for. But I also worry how invested Nando is in this relationship. I kept having some sort of horror image of him breaking Ximena out of the ward and going on the run believing that love can cure all.
- I so agree that the casting of Carmen, though a charming actress, was wrong in this TN if we are to believe her as the mother of either of these women. If her hubby was so great, and she started at the bottom like Ana had to do, why is such an idiot, bossing people around, being cruel to children and acting like working people are scum. Not buying it and if they do this, poor writing to the extreme.
- Ramping up the cruelty of Isabitch isn't necessary. Now that they have, Ana should have taken Sebas straight down to his father and told him what happened. And I'm sorry, you would have to have dead brain cells not to realize you have that thing on your face. Just no on every level. Wanna bet Fer does nothing because....
- Fer is an idiot. Eeky is an employee and should be shown the door. His radar should be ramping up over the fact this guy is ingratiating himself into the clan. Hello, last time an employee did that, you are now stuck with her for life. learn your lesson. Oh, and letting an employee know your personal weaknesses...nice move. He could have blown that off. Now Eeky knows Fer can't handle his booze. Lovely.
- I guess I was hoping as mad as Fanny was at Leon, she would get it with Eeky's antics. Guess not.
- And Nanette...I thought the same thing last night! How does this woman work out these routines??
- Still don't like Johny. Sorry.

Daisynjay

Daisynjay, I don't see Nando doing that. He's young but he's also practical. He knows he wouldn't have access to enough money for such a plan and he has adults around him who love him and can protect him from his folly.

As for Fernando trusting Reeky it's because he still trusts Isabruja. She recommended him for this job because of knowing him from Harvard (or whatever she said). Since she was competent at work he had no reason to disbelieve her. However, he could learn a lot from traditional gringo business practice about keeping appropriate boundaries.

Thanks, Marta. I kind of want to look for this episode so that I can see what Isa looked like with the beard. I guess that makes me a childish as the twins.:) Fernando has to wake up and see what a horrible wife and mother Isa is soon, right?

Forget about how Ana finds time to choreograph these routines- how does SN find the time to learn them, on top of the usual intense schedule of memorizing a daily tn script?

Yes, Fernando screwed up revealing his 'tolerance of alcohol' to Reeky (in all fairness, it was Diego who did really)..
and then Diego tells Fernando Ana made a dress for Alicia in front of Reeky's face... wonder if Reeky will tell DissaBella and that is how the dress will be sabotaged or laughed at.

Loved the contrasts in this episode...
Ana the great mother to kids that are not even hers (now they are for all practical purposes, can't wait for tonight's episode! should be MUST SEE TV!!)
and then we have Ximena's mom, DissaBella and then even YoMama who seems to have a 'soft' side after all (still say i DONT WANT HER to be Ana's mom... but i even caught DissaBella and Ana looking more similar than ever at the end of the episode.... yikes!).

and yes, this is why i did not really translate the 'engendro' word ... 'freak' would be the closest but i agree that 'engendro' is even worse than the usual english translation.

Marta, you are a very gifted writer. You covered everything in picture perfect detail.

I agree with Victoria that this was a terrible episode.

"someone get the ‘Bat-Ana’ red phone and give her a call…’)" was stellar.

I think the children's acting has been excellent. Initially, I felt Sebas was the weakest but he proved me wrong last night. His tears made me cry - it seemed just all too real.

Isa is really behaving like a monster. I'm relieved to see Yolanda was horrified (along with us) at Isa's out of control tirade.

I felt guilty because I laughed out loud at the moustache caper. Now I'm only sorry they did it because of the punishment Sebas received because of it.

Diana

I've been keeping up with the comments, and I must say I'm still upset about Sebastian.

Sebastian and Alicia are the middle kids.

--Nando has exceptional intellect that gives him self confidence.

--Fanny has incredible style and beauty which gives her self confidence.

--The twins have each other which gives each one a great level of comfort and support.

--Well, Luz is the absolute darling of the clan and who wouldn't love an adorable little one like her (the Brujas probably)?

Alicia has typical teenage growing pains that a majority of girls face--acne, braces, not as model-perfect as her older sister, no boyfriend, no older positive female influence. She is perfect pickings for an evil person like Isabruja. I hope her self worth isn't completely destroyed by such a vindictive witch.

Sebastian thinks no one understands him because of his love for hip hop which probably is very foreign to an upper crust Latin family. If Fernando doesn't step in and give this boy love, support, and guidance, then Sebastian may be hurt for life with an evil witch like Isabruja playing with his feelings and brain (Fanny Sr., verbal and physical abuse, etc.).

Great point about the dress.

My sense of foreboding about Diego is increasing. He lives in Reeky's building and on the same floor. He is in a good position to spot Isabruja arriving for a tryst.... and getting killed for knowing about it.

Marta:

I discussed the word "engendro" with my Dominican husband and its connotation in the way Isabruja used it with Sebastian. He explained that this word is exceptionally cruel when said to a young child because not only does it mean "freak" but more explicitly, "deformed child freak".

I can't imagine any adult with any sense of appropriateness using this cruel word. But of course, Isabruja has no boundaries whatsoever.

Victoria, that just makes things all the more heinous.

My eyes wandered over to your soothing avatar. Thank you.

Diana

Isa is way beyond the point of no boundaries. She is a cruel and sadistic bitch and the modern expression of the Wicked Stepmother of fairy tales.

Whenever you see a controlling parent of an adult protagonist remember that this is likely what they were like when said protagonist was a child.

Ana will go all Mama Bear on her for this.

Urban:
You are so right. I see Isabruja as so very sadistic while Graciela (LQLVMR) was just plain greedy but not sadistic (at least to me).

Graciela was insulting beyond belief. The insults Graciela hurled at Monserrat and her grandson were unforgivable. We never saw her interact with Monserrat as a child, so I am guessing that her cruelty and nastiness waited until Monse was at least 5 years old. That on top of the fact that Dimitrio was clearly the Golden Child to her.

I am still trying to decide whether I was satisfied with her Karmageddon.

Marta, this is wonderful..So much goes down every night I head is abuzz.

I could just choke that leaping lizard and his chop licking around Fanny and his presumptuous actions and comments to Ana. The dude has done this before and a predator.

Didn't take but one night away from the house for the kids to want Ana "home". How is the limp rag Fernando gonna handle that one with his lovely wife and even Yomama knows Isabela went too far.

Some of the worst people I have known, came from humble backgrounds, made it big, and their insecurities make them monsters.

Yomama - So What, you're still a troll

Isabela - and by tomorrow you'll have a 5 o'clock shadow

Ana - I'll kill that bitch

Ricky - thou insist too much

Nic - if you really love Jenny you'll not hand her to Juan

Sebastian - you can bet she won't throw a party for your 15th

Fernando - duh, It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood

Diego - that woman rocks

Nando - the more you struggle the quicker you sink

Urban - Seriously, in Mexico, 12- to 15-year-old children can have consensual sex with an adult?!?! Que horrible!

Regarding Enfrique and Isabruja offing Diego, I question whether tn writers would include that scenario in a comedy. I still suspect J in Oregon's prediction will transpire. Although I do not want for Diego to die, if he does, he will die in a motorcycle accident.

Wow what a sad episode and a wonderful recap!

Can't wait for Ana to go all Mama Bear on Isa. I hope she makes her afraid, very afraid. Sebs made me cry last night!

Can't believe Yomama is Ana's mother! Can't see how this will help Ana as Yomama has been pretty bad and obviously Isa and Ana will never like each other. But Ana seems younger than Isa so how did she become the collateral damage? It would make sense if she was the eldest child, Yomama couldn't take care of her and dropped her at the orphanage. Then married and had Isa. The fact that she never came back for Ana is awful. So the timing isn't working for me.

I felt like last night Yomama's character makeup began. Maybe she feels unloved by Isa so stooped to her level to try to gain her affection and now, after seeing the damage, feels bad.

Maybe I'm old fashion but I like Ana's dress for Alicia way over the one she bought.

I doubt Fer will find out about the episode with Sebs. They seem to keep him in the dark on these things. If he knew, I'm not sure how he would react...

I will be very upset if they kill off Diego, as rumors, hopefully not spoilers, circulate. Hasn't he been through enough? Haven't the kids suffered enough pain? And Fer and Nico? I was really upset when JL was killed off in LQLVMR because it felt unnecessary and if the bad guys really won.

Ecuador Bound, that is the law. Again the "Corruption of Minors" charges would likely cover situations involving someone Alicia's age and younger.

It would be a good thing if Mexico had something like we do which is known as the Romeo and Juliet law which decides the maximum age difference between the parties.

In the US 31 states set the age of consent at 16, 8 at 17, and 21 at 18. Here is how it breaks down.

ITA Carvivlie... it makes NO SENSE to have Ana supposedly older than Isa (even though Ana told Johnny her 'babies box' was going out soon)...
and ita on them preparing us for YoMama's reivindication if she is indeed Ana's mom... so she TEMPORARILY went to the dark side to get on Isa's good side?
'Mama Bear vs Modern Wicked Stepmother'... that is priceless!

ITA that if they offed Diego it would not be fair for anyone in that family... including Fer and Nico.

and yes, Nico, if you hand over Jenn to Johnny, you are a loser.

Marta,

Thanks so much for the recap. You catch the subtle lines and words that I often miss. And thanks to you and Victoria for clarification on engendro. What a bruja!!!

Reading the comments makes clear that so many of us are knocked out at much darkness is always on the edges and margins of this novela and often creeps right into the action.

It makes more sense to think that Yolanda had Ana (Good Lord, NO!) after Isabela. She was rescued from poverty by the Spaniard and had Isabela; then something happened and she got pregnant with Ana and gave the baby up for some reason. (Maybe Isabela was already a homicidal maniac and tried to kill her little sister!) I guess we will get more of the story soon as Diego is now on the case.

Fernando and Isabela cannot raise these children without Ana. In that sense, her perception of need is correct, though it can't work well for her.

How in the world does Isabela squirm out of this one. Does she play pitiful me and the kids (especially Sebastian) hate me and in a hormonal rage snapped? Does she lie but get Ana to support the lie and the kids remain silent? Does Fernando find out and in his typical way with his wife just shrug it off an weep a little tear for himself? The only time he gets really riled is when he sees his brother and Ana together.

Thanks for this excellent recap, Marta. Well done.

From the comments here today and previously, I'm guessing that I may be the only one who views the prospect (increasingly likely it seems) of Yolanda being Ana's long lost mother as a good thing. Ana's memories are of a sweet, gentle, loving mother, so I see the reunion as being a joyous one, no doubt loaded with tears. I'm looking forward to Ana leading a family singalong with Yolanda accompanying them on guitar.

Lisardo does creepy so well. Who can forget his chill-inducing sniffing of a sleeping Renata and her garments in CME? This thing with Fanny could be even worse.

UA, concerning Enrique,

"There is also a hint that he has done this before."

What are you referring to?

Carlos

One of the dangers of having no friends is that there is nobody to compare notes with on things like parenthood, which is something that everyone needs help with. Fernando has stated that he has no friends, which means that he has nobody to tell him that kids can have an incredible instinct about people.

This also supports my theory that Fernando will have to actually see Isabruja acting like one before he will believe it. She always comes off as lovey-dovey in front of him so as long as that is all he sees of her that is what he will believe. What he has not seen Isabitch do yet:

-- getting nasty with Ana
-- pulling rank on Manuela (who still wears her sexy dresses; good going, Manuela!)
-- insulting the children
-- flirt with Reeky

The only negative he has experienced so far is her price snobbery with the baby clothes and her overspending. By itself that's not enough.

Carlos, there was a line of dialogue in an earlier episode about how Reeky favored younger women. Since it wasn't one of my episodes I don't remember who said it.

"Engendro" does have a direct translation - it means "spawn"; same way we say "spawn of the devil" in English, they say "engendro del demonio" in Spanish. So both the meaning and connotation are bad in both languages.

Carlos,
I always appreciate your comments and you have inspired me to think about why Carmen Salinas is so wrong in this part, in my opinion, and why I don't want her to be Ana's mother.

First, I think she is overused in this kind of role though I do think that she and Mayrim have excellent comic chemistry.

As for the likelihood that she is Ana's mother, I guess I would like to see someone with some more flair, someone more loving, someone a lot less diabolical. I guess we will see a sweeter side to her, but unless the producers work some real magic, I think it will feel like a disappointment to see her as Ana's mother.

This could all be a red herring, of course. It's a little early to break out the guitars!

Yeah, we have too many episodes to go.

My hope is that we are being led down the old pea-path on Yomama being Ana's mother. Maybe a nice twist coming? Frankly, I could see Ximena's mother being Yomama's long-lost daughter along with Isa. Both are self-centered, uncaring about children, nasty individuals. That would work for me.

Then we get someone else bop into the picture, she of the long fingers and a kind heart, who suffered something that made her give up her daughter. No amount of rewriting past antics and history will make me want Ana and Isa as siblings.

And whatever happened to Isa's overeating and cravings? No morning sickness, lucky girl? And we better get a baby bump real soon. And she puts her evil bahvior down to the children exaggerating and she is hormonal AND Fer buys it...I'm done with him.

I too am wondering about Diego considering the plot ploys, the cycle warnings and the gossip mill. But dear lord in heaven, if Fer is end game, I need more from him on how he starts to deal with Isa.

I don't think CS is a good fit as Ana's or Isa's mother for physcial reasons. I just don't buy her as being their mother because of her size, coloring.

If the rumors are true and Pablo is out. Do you think they will recast? Or will they kill off his character? Adding someone new changes the triangle dynamic completely.

I love the chemistry between Diego and Ana and wish there was enough uproar that stupid Osorio would change his mind and leave PM in the novela.
I just can't see Valentino Lanus in this novela and moreover hope they don't just substitute one for the other--so unrealistic.
I still think the older blond woman in the maze will be Ana's mother because she looks sweet like Ana.
Has anyone else noticed that they seem to have stopped showing Diego in the library with his old model girlfriend and Ana walking in on them or is it just my imagination?

And what happened to Jennifer's colored wigs?

Hey Marta, thanks for the recap. I had to fast forward a lot. I don't like the Ximena story. It feels as thought it's just wasting our time to make the show longer. Ditto about Jonny.

How on earth could Isabela not notice her mustache until YoMama pointed it out? Gigantic beanie moment.

That YoMama could be Ana's mother? Say it ain't so, I too hope it's a red herring. I'm still pulling for Bruno being the father.

I think the colored wigs were rather stupid.

Valentino Lanus is almost the same age as Pablo, similar height, and according to IMDb his hobby is photography. I can see an accident happening, a plastic surgeon being called in, and a reveal three episodes later. It's been done before.

Here's hoping this is a red herring because I hate the idea of producers ruining novelas by recasting for personal reasons. This is Pablo's third novela with Jorge Salinas and the second time he's playing his brother. That has to be because they work well together. Not to mention we also get to hear him sing.

Thanks, Marta!

Small correction; Isa told Nando that she couldn't feel the baby moving yet. Personally, I think she's a bit farther along than she's letting Fer and everyone think and the pregnancy should be showing soon. This should make her even more witchy because she's so vain. I hope she gets giant swollen ankles.

Fer needs to know about how Isa treated Sebastian. That is seriously not okay, and NO amount of pranking or misbehavior by young children would justify it. Kids act up. The adults are supposed to be mature and behave better. Fer has got to be informed so he can make sure that none of the kids are ever left alone with Isa, without another adult who isn't her mother close by. That house is big enough that having Bruno off in his quarters or downstairs isn't enough. Also, he should start gathering evidence now so that he can divorce Isa and get custody of the baby, or at least show that Isa is an unfit mother and let the baby be adopted (by Jen, maybe) when he finds out he isn't the father.

Can't believe no one found it ooky that Enfrique, a guy they have only known for maybe a couple weeks, invited himself to the hospital and then home with the family. Boundaries, people! And Fanny is WAY too agreeable. She should have driven herself home, and she should have wondered why Leon was so convinced that she and Encreepy were an item. Maybe she's sleep deprived from sharing her bed with raging Ximeana.

Great points, Julia.

Fernando does need to know about that incident. There is nothing to be gained by keeping him in the dark unless he has been persuaded that Sebastian is prone to lying about such things and is being a drama queen.

In fact, as long as they've met Ximena's shrink maybe it's time to schedule appointments for themselves regarding the grief they never dealt with before.

I'm completely with you on Jennifer adopting the baby. I'm very sure we'll find out soon that it's not Fernando's and we all know how Isa will feel about it when it's born: It will be useless because it didn't get her his millions (unless Reeky's actions will have caused bankruptcy by then) so she will have no use or feelings for it. Nor will Reeky, either.

I don't know if Fer would completely believe Sebastian, since he knows that he already hates Isa (I did like how Ana kept correcting him with "Isabela" when he said "la bruja" and then he would just repeat emphatically "la bruja").

But Guille, Alex, and Luz were right behind the door and might have heard some of it and certainly they saw and heard Isa's rage and probably the thump when she shoved Sebas into the wall. Fer tends to listen to Luz. And Ana can back up how thoroughly distraught Sebas was. I want Fanny to hear the whole story, too. She will have NO MERCY. In fact, maybe she could quit her job in order to take on Isa-management as a full-time gig. Too much to hope for, I suppose. But I would love for her to pretend she's got a job writing for an ezine or something and really spend all her time playing P.I., researching Isa's background and discreetly following her around. That would improve the show! Fanny as the new Veronica Mars! Between Fanny, Ana, and Diego, I think they could get all kinds of dirt in no time if they really tried.

The only dirt they really need is Isabruja's real relationship with Reeky and what Reeky thinks Fernando is responsible for. The latter might be harder to find out.

It's true that Fanny would have no mercy on Isabruja. However, as things are right now she's likely to leak information to Reeky.

Seriously, he needs to be struck by lightning. Maybe we should bring wine to Zeus' temple.

Julia: I'm all for Fan being the next Veronica Mars!

UA: I'm in. What kind of wine does Zeus like? How many bottles do you think it will take?

Which god do we petition to get Fanny to realize what a slimeball Enfrique is? Or even to pay attention to her own little discomforts and suspect something is off and stop trusting him or telling him anything?

I've watched about 3 dozen Novelas and I don't remember a creep as bad as IkkyLizard in any of them except maybe the uncle of the young girl in LaMalquerida(sp) and even though he raped her, he didn't give me the shivers like IkkyLizard because he was just plain violent to me. Whereas IkkyLizard is sickening .my opinion.
Doesn't make sense I know.

I get what you're saying. Leonardo in Amor Bravio, por ejemplo, was a total sicko evil rapist, but everyone KNEW he was bad. It was no secret. It was a matter of trying to avoid him, which unfortunately his niece didn't manage, but it was different nuance of evil than if she trusted him and then he betrayed her.

It's a different kind of creepy when someone uses their position to gain trust and insinuate themselves into their victims' lives. In addition to the immediate horrors that will be caused by whatever the creep eventually does, it will leave the victims feeling like they can't be safe anywhere and they can't trust their own judgment. It usually takes a lot of therapy for the victim to realize that their judgment was there all along, the creep was just super skilled at manipulating them into overriding their instincts.

Absolutely.

Reeky has his eyes on both Fanny and Ana. Ana isn't likely to fall for him and especially if Diego finds out anything since his new digs are down the corridor from him. Ana already has a bad vibe; she did from the beginning.

I suspect he will probably try to play Scarpia to her or Fanny's Tosca down the road. He gets his playbook from opera.

Julia:
Great reflection on this sensitive subject which I fear we may be seeing for awhile since they cast creepy IkkyLizard. and I meant AB not LM. Thanks for the clarification.

The master creep Fernando/Javier on PSMA was horrible. He seduced his own sons virgin girlfriend and she broke up with the son to be with the father. Neither the son, Esteban nor Aranza knew he was the father. He also drugged and nearly raped his ex wife and stepmother of Aranza.

I think Reeky will outdo him if only because it looks like novela writers are upping the ick factor with each new series.

I think Eeky's moves on Ana are part of the plan to make Fer not be interested in Ana. If he can lay the groundwork to make it look like he and Ana have something going on, Fer will be ticked off. Or so Isa and Eeky's thinking goes. But they don't know Ana, she won't back down if he tries things and Diego certainly won't let him upset her either.

If poor Diego ever leaves our screens, which better not be really happening, I hope he gives Eeky a good left followed by a nice uppercut slam before he goes. That is one creep that needs someone to beat him senseless. Sorry, lost my non-voilent demenor there for awhile.

If that so UA, then we better brace ourselves for Fanny doing the deed with Ricky. Fanny, I hope, has another conversation with Leon about why he assumed they were a couple.

Ana from the beginning didn't like Ricky and shuts him down real quick as he attempts to be too familiar and I agree it is his way of helping Isabela with her problem with Ana.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO scenes of Fanny even ALMOST having a congressional session with Icky! ICKYICKYICKYICKYICKY!!!

I would hope that even if she deludes herself into thinking of him that way, when the time came her most basic visceral instincts would kick in and she would throw up/kick him in the nuts/run away. She's only twentyish...surely to her, even if she's too naive to pick up on the CREEP vibe, he would seem way too OLD and therefore YUCK?! I vaguely remember being 20 and back then, any man over thirty would have seemed like an ancient geezer to me. Definitely no attraction.

I'm not sure my eyes and brain could ever be bleached enough if the horror of a Fanny/Encreepy coupling were spewed onto our screens.

Or, perhaps Fanny mentions later on she kinda digs Ricky to Ana and it gets shut down but I wouldn't put it past Ricky to drug her.

Fanny is 19.

When I was 20 I dated someone who was 35, but he was hot. He had the kind of physique that novela leading men are required to have these days and he was witty. However, it didn't last because he didn't like cats.

Diego needs to stay and he needs to be on Red Alert on this guy. While he might like the idea of Fernando being stuck with Hissabela so his road to Ana is free I'm sure he wouldn't like the tricks Reeky has planned.

Not to mention their financial ruin.

I know we're not supposed to gossip, but if Osorio nixes Diego from the story it becomes a major mess.

Let's spread rumors that the Lizard has done something awful and get HIM nixed from the story.

Nothing personal. It can get cleared up in time for him to get another part on another show.

UA: "However, it didn't last because he didn't like cats."---deal breaker for me too.

UA,

"However, it didn't last because he didn't like cats."

Well that's it... Fanny needs to get a cat. I wonder if a weasel will do?

I've been impressed with Ana's pole work from the beginning, but last night I was enthralled... it seemed so dreamy and effortless and that bluesy steamy music was perfectly suited.
