Posting this for Caroline:

Hey guys!

Can anyone do the recap tonight? I am in the middle of trial and won't be able to do it tonight.

Thanks!

Hi Caroline! I can do it. Advocate hard!
:D

Monday

Part 1

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

Dr. Moto tries to call Laz and gets his voicemail. Maybe Laz already knows, but... Then Esmeeth and FELS-PELS demand her attention. They show her the schematic of the ID 3000 -- the murder weapon is the bracelet Victor always wears!

Izzy's hitmen watch Christian get into his car.

FELS-PELS questions Asunción at CIA headquarters. Why did she abandon the child she had with el coyote, Gregorio Pérez? Did she know Rodolfo Ortiz was just murdered? Asunción's eyes widen. She didn't know. She admits talking to Rudy. He called her. And she's sorry he's dead -- he was going to tell her where her son was!

Victor Hopes for the Worst

Lazaro is a bundle of nerves. Connie still has that sense of foreboding (mal presentimiento). She creeps out Juanjo by telling him about Reina's Uncle Rudy.

Hours pass. Laz and Connie huddle together on the couch. Estefi paces. Victor looks at his watch. Finally, the doctor comes out and announces that the surgery was a success.

While everyone else is all smiles and hugs, Victor takes the doctor aside and asks if his daughter lost the baby. No, el embarazo sigue adelante, no lo perdió. (No, she's still pregnant, she didn't lose the baby.) Victor scowls. We'll never know what he was about to say because Laz interrupts, asking when they can see Greta. "In a few hours," the doc tells him. Laz will wait around. He apologizes to Victor for his earlier behavior -- it's just that he was so frightened for Greta. Victor has nothing for Lázaro but scorn. "Let's see if my daughter still chooses you when she can walk again."

Connie steps away from the others to take a call. Now she joins the group again and tells them, her voice breaking, that Christian has been in an accident.

As if.
Christian reposes in a coffin, cotton balls in his nostrils. Connie stands over him, Izzy at her side. "I knew it -- I had a premonition." Christian is with the Lord, intones Izzy, and he and Connie will honor him by going on with their lives. Suddenly Christian's eyes fly OPEN. Izzy looks away. He slams the open half of the coffin shut.

Do Dawgs Dream? Apparently, they do -- especially when they are half in the bag.
Izzy is guzzling his whiskey and enjoying the above fantasy when Victor strides in angrily, wanting to know what the hell he did. But before Izzy can answer, Reina (still in her remarkable Op Art jumpsuit) tells Victor that Esmeeth and PELS-FELS are looking for him.

"Mr. De Rosas, you'll have to come with us."
"Can you tell me why?"
"Because you're accused of homicide -- that's why."

The One Where The Rich Guy Gets Caught Wearing the Murder Weapon

Navier watches the episode of LAW & ORDER from the comfort of his safe house. He's pleased to see that Victor is wearing his bracelet. It's time to take action, he tells the faithful Belgian, Boris Bosch. Can Navier count on him? Of course. But Boris isn't sure that what Navier proposes is the wisest course. Navier sighs. "No, it isn't. It's risky, but that doesn't matter."

Reina watches su esposo esposado (her husband handcuffed).

What baby?

Dra. Moto joins Laz sits at Greta's bedside. She knows the operation went well, she says, but is the baby okay? Laz looks at her blankly. "What baby?" Estefania enters the room in time to hear what Moto asks next:
¿No sabías que Greta está embarazada? (You didn't know that Greta is pregnant?)

Part 2

Caras de outrage! No, Laz didn't know and neither did Estefi. After that surgery, Greta has surely lost the baby. Laz rushes out to find the doctor.

I'll be back!
Victor tells Izzy to look after Reina. He reassures Reina that this arrest is just un trámite (a formality). "Take care of Clara," he tells her. "You know that everything concerning Clara is a matter of life and death." (He says this with an edge of menace that is not lost on Reina.) He's sure he'll be back soon. Esmeeth loses patience and tells him to shut it. Victor is finally hustled out.

Con cara de yo no fui
Laz crashes into the doctor's office and grabs him by his lapels. How could he operate on a pregnant woman??? He killed their child!!! "I didn't kill anybody! Greta didn't lose the pregnancy."

Another Crockpot Theory™ in Smithereens!

Asunción is now back in the De Rosas house. Reina asks how things went at the CIA. What did they ask her? Asunción answers the question with a question: "You told them my secret, didn't you?" Of course Reina told them -- she needs to know about her brother. She can't stand all these secrets and lies and mysteries. Not anymore.

And what about Uncle Rudy? Why did he call Asunción before he died? Asunción repeats what she told FELS-PELS: Rudy was going to tell her where to find her son.

And why did Uncle Rudy and Reina's father argue? They argued over CARMEN, says Asunción. Delfina wasn't the daughter of Pedro Ortiz -- she was Uncle Rudy's daughter! Pedro could never forgive the betrayal, even though he raised Delfina as if she were his own.

A Good Hosing
"More fire! I want more fire!" Juanjo exhorts Yolanda to move those hips as they practice their dance moves in Estefi's parlor. The party comes to a screeching halt with Susana's arrival: Pues, llegaron los bomberos (Well the fireman are here) she snarks as she switches off the music.

Izzy calls his thugs to find out all the details of Christian's "accident." ¿Cómo?

Dented and Dinged
Connie leads the only slightly dented (though chronically severely bent) Christian into her living room. His forearm and hand are bandaged. Connie points out that he got off easy -- he could have been killed when his brakes failed. She babbles about her bad luck -- first she breaks a heel on a new pair of shoes and now this, almost a widow before she's even married! Christian suspects foul play -- someone tampered with his brakes.

A French Letter, An Adams Family Reunion

Izzy asks Reina to help him out. She has to tell Connie not to marry that policeman...

Asunción interrupts their conversation to say that a couple of messengers arrived with the fabrics she ordered from Paris. Wink Wink. The ones Mr. Adams sent her. Nudge. Nudge. She gives Reina a piece of paper. Izzy looks on suspiciously.

Flashback: Navier holds two newly minted fake passports for Mr. and Mrs. Adams. He and Reina plan their new life far away from the Elvis impersonators and the slots.

Back to the present: Reina tells Izzy to keep fighting for Connie -- he still has a chance.

I didn't want to worry her pretty little head

The doctor claims he said nothing about Greta's pregnancy because he didn't want to add to her stress. Laz KNEW he was hiding something. The doc lies -- he was sure there were no risks! And see -- everything turned out fine!

Estefi is thrilled with the news, but she isn't letting the doctor off the hook. He should have told them -- or maybe he DID tell someone. He's very lucky everything worked out.

Part 3

Stay!
Reina and Asunción peek inside a large trunk that seems to be filled with fabrics. French fabrics. Izzy says he has to go out, but Reina mustn't leave the house. He doesn't want to give Victor any reason to be upset. Meanwhile, Asunción says she'll get the messengers.

The Cat Comes Upon The Mice Playing

Yolanda says she and Juanjo were just practicing for the dance contest. They weren't expecting Susana... "Ah, so when the cat's away..." "No, Ma'am, there's no cat..."

Susana says she is just there to pick up some of Greta's things...but she's decided to stay the night. She sends Yoli to the kitchen to work on some homemade lasagna, rejecting the mole and chilaquiles she's already fixed for "mi Juanjo." "Juanjo and I don't have the same tastes -- just so you know."

If Connie's Bed Could Talk
Connie settles Christian in her bed, all the while jabbering away: "You brought this on yourself...you shouldn't have told Victor about your past...he's a dangerous man...even so, what you did with Camila was disgusting..." Stupid Christian is still sure that Victor would never kill him. But Izzy would!

Even though Moto delivers the news several hours late...

...Laz still thanks her for telling him about the pregnancy. He's really happy that he's going to be a father. It's a miracle -- a dream come true.

Moto says she never felt that kind of desire to be a mother; that her husband couldn't father children didn't bother her. "Maybe it wasn't the right moment -- or the right man," says Laz. [Why do we keep hearing about this?]

Moto's cell phone rings. She steps aside to answer it. Estefi joins Laz. She's unhappy about that doctor, she says, and she is going to talk to Victor about it. Now Moto joins them again and says that won't be possible. She's the forensics expert, she explains, and Victor has been arrested.
[Wow. I was sure she was going to say the doctor's bloated corpse had just been found with his lying lips sutured shut.]

Victor lawyers up.
He knows nothing about the young model he's accused of killing. Maybe she worked on some campaign for his company? FEL-PELS says maybe Victor doesn't understand: They have (1)the weapon, (2)the body and (3) they have Victor.

Victor denies, denies, denies.
(4) they have absolutely nothing, (5) they aren't going to have anything.

"Take off the bracelet, please."
Victor seems surprised -- and irritated -- at Esmeeth's order, but grudgingly begins to unfasten it.

Furtive Entry
Someone enters the Leiva house. All we see are a pair of black shoes, legs clad in black trousers making their way through to the bedroom...

Nookie in a Box (Thanks, Jean!)
Two guys carry a familiar trunk down to Navier's subterranean safe house. As soon as the delivery guys leave, Navier opens the lid. It's Reina! They kiss greedily, hungrily. He doesn't have to hide anymore, Reina tells him. Everyone knows he's innocent. Navier says it's not the law that threatens him... "Is it because of Estefanía?" she asks. "Is this our last time together?" No, there will never be a last time for them...

Part 4

Love Amid the Thought Bubbles
Reina thought-bubbles: I'd like to tell you Clara is your daughter.
Navier -- who at some point has thoughtfully chucked off his shirt (Drink!) and is now showing us his Dragon Tattoo (Drink!) -- thought-bubbles: I'd like to tell you I'm a Secret Agent.
Reina t-b's: I'd like to show you I never betrayed you.
Navier t-b's: I'd like you to know that I'm not in control of my life. (No soy dueño de mi vida)
Reina t-b's: I'd like to bare my body and soul to you.
Navier t-b's: I'd like to stay here with you, in the flesh. (ISBIS: Quisiera quedar en carne viva frente a ti.)
Reina and Navier t-b: Pero no puedo.

He gives up the bracelet but not the tude
Victor finally gives up the ID 3000. It is taken away in an evidence bag. He tells them to be careful with it. It is very valuable to him. Esmeeth is sure it brings back memories. "Many more than you can imagine," he says with a smirk.

We see a new face watching through the glass. [Significant? Let's wait and see if he gets any lines.]

Victor has nothing to confess. Esmeeth and FELS-PELS are going to be VERY sorry about this.

They Have a Lot in Common, When you Think About It.
Izzy -- yes, he's the black-shoed intruder -- takes off his jacket and pants and climbs into bed with the person concealed under the covers. He caresses a haunch, kisses a shoulder, clasps a hand... whoa... the hand is a little rough, a little large. Izzy reaches further and feels Christian's stubbly face. Both men realize that the other one is NOT CONNIE. Izzy jumps out of bed. Christian sits up, furious. Connie comes running. What is going on?

Tell Me Victor is Wrong and that You Still Love Me
Greta is off the ventilator now but not yet awake. Laz sits with her, anxious to share the joyful news of her pregnancy. He needs her to say that she wants to be with him and have his child; he needs to hear her tell him that everything's going to be okay.

Susana Gives Juanjo a Glowing Recommendation
Can Yolanda ask Susana a question? What does she think of Juanjo? Yoli burns for him, she feels a passion she never felt for any man...

Just around a corner, Juanjo eavedrops...

"Juanjo is loyal," begins Susana. "He's faithful, pure, honest, sincere, funny -- he's a man you find once in a lifetime. He's the perfect boyfriend...for you." Juanjo listens with delight, but at the last two words, his face crumples.

The Man is an Artist
Dra. Moto tells her colleagues that if the ID 3000 is the murder weapon, then Victor is more dangerous than they imagined. He's more than a thief, a trafficker, a murderer -- he's an artist of crime (un artista del crimen).

I told them Almost Everything

Estefi comes to the De Rosas mansion looking for Reina. Asunción tells her that la señora took a sleeping pill and has gone to bed. Estefi tries to bait Asunción, but the latter deflects her ironías by reminding her of what they have in common -- they are mothers who are suffering. Asunción says the CIA questioned her today about Estefi's brother.

"I suppose you told them everything."

"Almost everything," she answers.

Asunción tells Estefi about Rudy's death and how she was planning to ask him where her son is. She'll keep looking though, and as soon as she knows, she'll tell Estefi.

Guess what? Estefi KNOWS where her brother is. She told him about Asunción. Wanna know what he said?

So Arrest Me!

Christian accuses Izzy of tampering with his brakes. He'll see that he ends up in prison. Izzy pulls out a gun and aims it at Christian's head. If he goes to prison, he says, it will be for a good reason.

Izzy and Christian struggle. The gun goes off. A vase shatters. A giant RED DIAMOND falls to the floor.

Part 5

Leave the gun, Take the diamond

Connie picks up the diamond and tucks it in her dress. It's just a little good-luck charm, she says. Christian takes advantage of the confusion to grab the gun. Now Izzy is the one facing down the barrel. Christian wants to call 'his people.' Connie warns him that if he brings in the cops, he won't have a girlfriend anymore. He relents. Izzy, as usual, presses his luck. Can he have his gun back? Fat chance!

Christian knows Connie cares for him but she's in love with Izzy. He swears to her that one day Izzy will just be an absurd memory. They exchange a chaste kiss. Connie holds her hand on her chest as if protecting the diamond (which she swears is not a diamond).

Estefanía -- A Woman With a Very Short Memory

"My brother was very clear. He wants nothing to do with you. He doesn't even consider you his mother." Estefi looks into Asunción's suffering face and just keeps going. "I understand my brother. What kind of rat would abandon her own child? There are definitely women in this life who don't deserve to be mothers."

Speaking of Suffering Mothers

Esmeeth gets back to her apartment and finds FELS-PELS ensconced in her sofa, drinking her wine. "I saw you watching me when I was talking to Jackie," he says. "I wasn't watching you...but why are you here?" He gets upset and makes as if to leave. She stops him. Does he want to hear how much she missed him when he was in Spain? How much she thinks about him? How much she loves him? Yes. That's what he wants to hear her say. He leans down to kiss her. She responds enthusiastically. It looks like it's going to be a Short Couch kind of Evening.

Victor in the CIA Cell

Flashback: He is home. His phone rings. A woman speaks (Estefi?) "They're coming for you and I know how to help you. Your freedom for the crown."
[Interesting.]

Love on a Short Couch

Esmeeth's words were just what FELS-PELS needed to hear -- that she wanted him, thought of him, needed him as much as he needed her.

"Did you get what you wanted? Am I just another conquest, Patricio Picasso?"

He tells her she's being foolish. He loves her too. And he wants her to know WHO HE REALLY IS...
[But I guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out!]

Excellent, NovelaMaven!

That was definitely Stefi's voice on the phone warning Vic. Meaning she has someone on the inside in the CIA. Hmmm... Wanna bet the bracelet Vic is wearing just turns out to be an ordinary bracelet.

Speaking of bracelets, I wasn't paying close attention, but was Reina totally naked when she was brought to Navier in the trunk? And I don't just mean clothes- was she wearing her tracking bracelet and watch? If she had that watch on, Vic will soon know where Navier is.

And how much longer will Connie be able to hold on to the diamond?

NovelaMaven - thank you for pinch hitting, the recap and the snark!

”Navier watches the episode of LAW & ORDER from the comfort of his safe house”
BwaHahahahaaaa!

Didn’t we learn that both Dr Moto and PFELS are both sterile? QTH? And yes, NM, why do they keep harping on this? With all the twists and turns of plot, could Juanjo be their love child?

Who wants to bet that Victor’s bracelet is a dummy that looks like the Injecto-Death 3000? which is safely locked away and only worn when gross misdeeds must be done?

LOL moment – Chris & Izzy in Connie’s bed
Oh sh*t moment – the red diamond reappears

”... A woman speaks (Estefi?) "They're coming for you and I know how to help you. Your freedom for the crown."…” AHA! Thus confirms my theory that Victor is wearing a dummy bracelet. And who was the caller? Inquiring minds want to know.

Vivi - I see we both had the same theory on Vic's bracelet. I can't remember if we saw enough of Reina to tell if she wore her bracelet and watch.

P.S. to Vivi --- I wondered if that was Stefi's voice (calling Victor) and if so, (crockpot theory alert!) could she know they were coming from him thanks to PFELS who could be her big bro, and are they really in cahoots? If so, what is the end game plan?

Great recap, NovelaMaven. Thanks for pitching in.

A dummy bracelet - I never thought of that and I didn't make the connection with the phone call to Victor at all.

And who was that guy behind the mirror when they were interrogating VIctor?

PFELS told Esmeeth that he was sterile and I think that Dr. Moto said that she pretended to be sterile so as not to make her ex feel bad or something. It's very weird that they keep talking about it.

Reina was certainly wrapped in some fabric when she came out of the box and was naked shortly thereafter but I didn't get the impression that she was shipped naked as it were.

Es milagro! I thought I had erased last night's episode after watching, but I didn't. Soooo,,,
I re-watched and during the Nookie-In-A-Box scene, Reina was wearing Javier's bracelet, but no wristwatch.

I'm pretty sure I saw the heart bracelet on Reina's wrist, but I didn't see the watch. Then again, I don't remember seeing her (left?) wrist at all. If she's wearing the watch, the Victorians must be on their way...
Addendum: I just read Doris's comment that Reina was NOT wearing the watch. Yay!

I made the connection between the phone call and Victor's intention to weasel out, but I never thought of a dummy pulsera. I was thinking the evidence bag would just go missing. I like a fake ID 3000 much better!

So OBD and Reina didn't have the same father because Rodolfo fathered Delfina! That means Reina probably IS the daughter of Pedro Ortiz. Drat!

FELS-PELS is on the verge of revealing his true identity to Esmeeth. Maybe.

Asunción says she told the CIA almost everything -- what did she hold back?

Will Greta act like an entitled brat once she recovers? They sure spent a lot of time worrying over this theme, don't you think?

Jean, the camera lingered quite insistently on the guy behind the glass. It would be such a relief if he turned out to be the mole. If it's FEL-PELS (and everything points at him right now), Esmeeth will feel so betrayed. Oh well. Just wishful thinking.

What bothers me about Rodolfo O being the real father of OBD is that Pedro did not exile Carmen.

If Pedro allowed Carmen to stay in the marriage and raise OBD, thenWHY was Asunción forced to abandon Reina, who is Pedro's real daughter?

Did I miss something there?

Doris- Maybe Papa Ortiz and el Coyote were sworn enemies, and Marsuncion's betrayal with him (before and after their marriage) was just something he couldn't forgive. Punishing Marsuncion (by taking her child and banishing her) was a way of punishing el Coyote. Just think of Vic's behavior with Reina and Clara. Marsuncion probably always held a part of herself back with him, because she was still head over heels in love with Coyote. While Carmen probably salivated all over him and acted like she worshiped the ground he walked on. Maybe keeping his brother's kid as his own was his way of punishing his brother. And when he "died" he got the last laugh on Carmen and Delfina by leaving the little house to Reina and nothing at all for Carmen and her daughter.

I'm starting to believe more and more that Papa Ortiz is the guy we see shooting up Marsuncion and el Coyote and his family. I think he's the puppet master behind this whole thing.

Bwhaaa! Love on a short couch! Novela maven; Smith has a very long couch because it has to accommodate a 6 foot 4 FELS. Thanks for the great recap and the great snark.

Penny

Marvelous recap, NovelaMaven! Thanks!

What a relief to hear Great is still preggers. But why isn't she waking up yet so she can hear the news? I hope she'll wake up tonight.

It did sound like Estefy's voice on the phone warning VIctor that they were coming for him. I'm surprised she asked for the crown instead of one of the red diamond's in return for her help. It does look like the bracelet Victor handed over was a dummy and not the real ID 3000. I suppose it is too early in the show for Victor to be put behind bars. PFELS is looking more and more like the brother especially with his line at the end about telling Esmeeth who he really is. Can't wait to find out what he tells her (if he does tell her anything) tonight.

The scene with Izzy sneaking into bed with who he thought was Connie but actually Chrisitan made me laugh. I actually watched it more than once. I almost screamed when the vase was shot and the red diamond fell to the ground. I bet Connie wanted to do the same. Now Izzy knows that she has the red diamond. Will he tell Victor?

I loved Nookie in a Box. That's exactly what it was. Too bad Reina and Navier couldn't tell each other what they were thinking in their thoughtubble.

This was a great episode. Can't wait until tonight.

Vivi - I also think Papa Ortiz is behind it alll. It would explain the "chilling" part Rocky mentioned to Navier before having his lips sewn shut.

Vivi - Your Crockpot Theory makes a lot of sense to me.

Thanks for the first-rate pinch-hitting job (got baseball on the mind lately), NovelaMaven.

I seem to remember OBD snarling at Reina that they weren't even half sisters because they didn't share a father. So it appears Carmen shared the info about who sired her with ODB.

As soon as I saw that flashback about Victor getting a warning call from Stefi (I'm sure it was her) I knew that all that CIA gloating about grabbing up Victor with the Inject-o-Death 3000 fully loaded with poison was going to be for naught.

And, of course, it's way too early for him to go away on murder in the first.

Connie is not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I don't think she twigged it when Christian said his brakes had been tampered with. And, even though he had pointed a gun at Christian and broken into her house in the middle of the night, she still emotionally blackmails Christian into letting him go. For me the only purpose she serves in the novela is for Reina to have a friend she can turn to.

Great recap NovelaMaven!

The scene with Izzy & Christian was pretty funny. Connie needs to work out a schedule on what days they can storm in her house and declare their love/passion/etc. to avoid mix-ups in the future. And Izzy needs to tone it down by a gazillion notches. The way he pulled out that gun was so off putting. Despite being you Christian, you're looking better and better. & I was surprised that Naiver let Connie/Reina keep that diamond.

It does look like Pedro could be behind everything, but why target Reina so personally and not Ausucion? Possibly because if he hurts Reina, he hurts Ausucion, but it doesn't seem enough for me.

I loved that while everything was going on last night, Reina and Navier were in their own lalaland last night.

jlk

Okay here is my crack pot theory on why stefi and pels are working together. Remember, whoever has the diamonds can control time and universe. What if now what if they want to back in time and stop their parents from being murdered? Yeah I know then telenovela would go on forever. But that's okay right? -- Nia

So, Reina was wearing the wristwatch from Victor~!!! It just wasn't visible last night.

Tuesday

Part 1

Patricio Picasso pours his heart out to Esmeeth

"I've always been unhappy -- as a child, as a teenager, as a young man. I've always been much older than my chronological age. I'm sterile. I'll never have children and I won't adopt them. I don't believe in marriage or in love that lasts a lifetime. I don't trust people. I've always thought that love was a weakness -- that's the man I am. But no matter how much I resist, all I want is to be with you. The question is: Do you want to be with me?"

Esmeeth whispers back: "Yes, I want to be with you. " The camera angle widens and we see Patricio's feet hanging over the edge of the short couch.

Sleeping Beauty Awakens

Greta opens her eyes and whispers Lázaro's name. He is dozing at the foot of her bed but raises his head at the sound of her voice. He can hardly contain his joy -- everything went well and they are going to be parents!

So I'm the ideal boyfriend...for Yolanda?

Juanjo, wearing only underpants and black socks, walks into Susana's room as she is undressing. She tries to shoo him out. He won't go until she tells him who is the better lover -- he or the 'marchand.' He works his way up and down her body, perhaps drawing inspiration from the posters of Estefanía, the ones from her porno star days, that look down on them from the walls. "You," says Susana, in spite of herself.

Oh no -- She IS wearing the watch!

It's grapes and dragon kisses for Breakfast. ¡Qué rico! Navier wants to go outside and make sure they are safe. Reina begs him to stay with her. They kiss.

Definitely NOT a girl's best friend

A hooded, black clad figure enters Connie's bedroom. She wakes up and starts to scream but rapidly succumbs to the chloroformed handkerchief he holds over her mouth. He searches her dresser. Nothing. Then he finds the prize tucked into the top of Connie's nightshirt: Big Red!

It's not what it looks like!

Yolanda walks into Susana's room and sees her snuggled under the covers with Juanjo. He has made a fool of her! He is NOT a good person!

Moi?

Esmeeth watches through the glass as Dra Moto interrogates Victor. Moto knows he has an accomplice who warned him the CIA was coming for him. That's why he switched from the InjectoDeath 3000 to an ordinary bracelet. Who helped him? It had to be someone powerful, someone on the inside...

Quick Check -- Boobs? Bed? No Big Red!

Connie wakes up and realizes the diamond is gone! She phones Izzy and accuses him of taking it. How could he do such a thing to her? She loves him so much...correction: She used to love him!

Christian sits at his desk and polishes the stone.
He bundles it in a cloth and sticks it in his desk drawer.

Dra. Moto makes a lousy interrogator

All Victor has to do is give her a name. Tell her who helped him and he's a free man. Victor smiles slyly and Moto leans forward to listen. "Esmeeth," he says. He waves knowingly at the one-way mirror.

Smile, you're on Candid Camera!

Reina, wearing only a tailored shirt of Navier's, walks around the main room of his safe house. His laptop is open. She touches the mouse and sees a split-screen view of the De Rosas mansion. There's Asunción loading a pistol, putting it in her purse and heading out the door.

Navier comes back downstairs and announces that there's no danger outside. He realizes Reina has looked at his laptop; he answers her unspoken question: Yes, he has hidden cameras in her house and yes, he's been spying on her all this time.

Part 2

I was waiting for you, little bro!

Estefi sits at her throne and, wearing the crown of diamonds, takes several selfies. Someone knocks at the door. "Come in." She smiles up at her visitor. "I've been expecting you, hermanito." Fernando San Juan aka Patricio Picasso aka El Supremo aka Gregorio Pérez smiles back. They embrace warmly.

Greg looks down at the crown she's holding and wants to know what she's doing with it. "I went to get it last night," she tells him. "I'm going to be a queen again, as I deserve to be."

Explanatory Flashback: When Greg told Estefi that Victor was going to be arrested, she went to the De Rosas house and managed to open the safe and retrieve the crown. She was only getting back what belonged to her!

Greg is frowning. "You helped that man in order to get the crown back. I think you paid too high a price. I told you very clearly we were going to catch him. I warned you."

"Do you think I'm capable of betraying you?" she asks. We, with the benefit of an Explanatory Flashback, know the answer: Of course you are, Estefi!

EF: Estefi makes a phone call. "Victor, they're coming for you. I can help you. Your freedom in exchange for the crown." She texts something and then thought-bubbles with a look of great satisfaction: Jamás podría salvarlo. (A little help here, guys: He could never save it?? I could never save him??)

She tells Greg that nothing would make her happier than seeing Victor rot in jail. Greg wishes he could believe her, but it's tough. Who else could it be? Estefi doesn't know. Maybe it's someone right under his nose...

Greg says he half believes her. But he wants to remind her who Victor is:

He is the man who stole Greta from her,
He's the one who did everything he could to destroy her;
He married another woman;
He stole from her at every opportunity.

She must not forget that! She won't. She never forgets anything -- and she never forgives anything. She's not like that half-sister of his who has nothing queenly about her but her name.

I just wanted to protect you!

"You wanted to watch me," Reina tells Navier. "And now you know everything." Does Reina mean about her brother? She should have told him! Or that she keeps a diary? He assumed as much. Or that she takes refuge in her room when she wants to think about him? He does the same thing. Or that she never slept with Victor? He thought so.

The Thing I Hate About You

"You were so sure?" He was. Reina says she hates that about him. She hates the way he feels in control of everything. She feels exactly the opposite. Ever since she fell in love with him, she has felt vulnerable, insecure, uncertain, exposed -- she feels as if she controls nothing!

Navier tells her how he felt as he watched her from afar but couldn't touch her. Then he confesses that her bracelet always told him where she was.

I'm not kidding!

Dra. Moto tells Victor to try again. She refuses to believe that Esmeeth was his accomplice. Victor says it's no joke. Esmeeth was Big O's great love and she is Navier's mother. She's family.

"So according to you, Esmeeth called you last night and you changed the mechanism of the bracelet."

No, the bracelet is just a bracelet. Esmeeth called him last night and here he is, a man who has no need to run from the law. "Thanks, Sarita!"

Esmeeth loses her cool

She storms into the interrogation room. "I won't allow you to keep telling lies." "Don't be like that, Sarita," says Victor unctuously. He knows she did it in memory of Big O... and out of gratitude -- because he was very generous to her.

Part 3

Freedom's just another word for "I own you, Bolívar"

Greg doesn't want to talk about Reina or her mother. "She's your mother too," says Estefi. "That woman is nothing to me," he says brusquely. "Even so, she's looking for you." "Let her keep looking. If she finds me, she'll be sorry."

That's exactly why Estefi didn't want to say anything. She didn't want him to suffer. She loves him and wants to protect him. He knows -- it does him good to know that someone loves him. What about her? How is she doing? Has she heard from Navier? No, she has heard nothing.

"Bolívar is a free man," says Greg, "free in the eyes of the law. But he'll never be free of you and me."
[O...kay....]

Christian keyboards surprisingly well with one hand
He is Googling like mad, looking up Black Falcons and Red Diamonds. He is in WAY over his head.

I hate you from my toes to my hair!

Connie can't believe that Izzy has the nerve to show up on her doorstep. He swears to her that he didn't take the diamond. There were three of them in the room with the diamond. Her policeman took it!

Happy. Probably. Maybe.

Greta still can't feel her legs. Laz urges her to be patient. It won't be long before she's running in the park with their baby!

Susana arrives and is given the happy news -- she's going to be a grandma!

The Boy Can't Help It

Juanjo tells Yolanda he's very sorry but he's in love with Susana. She gets on her knees and wails and then runs out of the room.

They Share a Certain Penchant for Hyperbole

Flashback: Estefi is exhausted after a long session of pin-up posing. She calls for her robe. "Allow me," says an unfamiliar voice, slipping the feathery garment over her shoulders. She turns and faces a tall young man. It's llamado de la sangre time! She recognizes him as her little brother.

Since that day nine years ago, they have not been apart. "You took care of me when I was a little boy. Now it's my turn to take care of you." They agree they've lived very different lives, but their hearts are one. She is his life, his identity, his past, his blood. Nobody is going to separate them, agrees Estefi: not Reina, not Javier, not Victor -- nobody. Not even Greg's love for Esmeeth.

Part 4

Convincing or Convenient?

Esmeeth is furious at the lies Victor De Rosas has told. Moto isn't so sure he was lying. What he said was pretty convincing. Esmeeth thinks Moto sees her as a rival for Patricio and would be delighted to get her out of the picture. Moto says it's the boss who gets to judge whether Victor is telling the truth. [And I say that Moto is just getting annoying.]

By the time you hear the rattle, it's too late!

Estefi warns Greg be careful with Victor. He's a rattlesnake. Greg can handle himself, he says. But he has one question for Estefi before he goes:

Why didn't she tell him that Asunción was his mother? Why did he have to hear about it from Reina?

"Because I wanted to protect you. Nothing coming from that woman could be good for you."

He believes that Estefi loves him, but he also knows she has another, more important motive, one she chose to keep to herself.

Reina and Navier snuggle. She seems comfortable having absolutely no privacy.

Navier explains how he rescued her from her assailants. It didn't matter that he was wounded. He saw her lying there, so fragile, and he heard her say she'd gladly die as long as he was at her side... and she asked him to take care of Clara because ...

"So it was you?" asks Reina. She wasn't sure if she had dreamed it. "It has always been you." "And it always will be."

"So Victor lied." He did, confirms Navier. How did Victor figure out where she was?

Um...mind if I look at your watch?

Suddenly Navier notices Reina's watch. He slips it off her wrist, snaps open the facing and removes a cheep. Now he knows how Victor tracked her down.

Navier senses danger. He quickly hustles Reina out of harm's way and prepares to face whoever is coming down the stairs. ¿Qué? It's Asunción! And she's got a gun!

Part 5

Estefi ruminates over Gregorio's words

"I know you love me, but I know you have another motive, the most important one, the one you decided to keep quiet about."

López 2.0 reports to his boss. He took care of Asunción, just as she asked. She left the house and went somewhere on the outskirts of town. It's an odd kind of place. They say it belongs to the mafia. Estefi puffs on her cigar and lines up her shot on the pool table. "That woman never ceases to surprise me."

¿Qué haces aquí?

Asunción hands her gun to Navier and explains her presence. Uncle Rudy called her and arranged to meet her at this very place. He never showed up. Later, she found out he had been murdered. He had sent the set of keys by messenger.

Reina repeats what she has recently learned -- that her uncle worked for a big arms trafficker and he died with his lips sutured shut. "Like Rocky," says Navier. "And the trafficker he worked for owned this place. Now I own it."

Asunción says she came there looking for a lead to her son. She brought the gun "just in case." Navier tells her to forget about using guns. He promises to help her find her son.

The Boss is back in the office.

He asks Moto how Victor's interrogation went. She says Victor played with them and controlled the situation. He isn't going to confess. "Then we'll just have to wear him down," says the boss. Moto thinks it won't be easy. "He's not God," says the boss, exasperated. "He's just a human being. Stop making excuses."

"Did you tell him?" says Esmeeth, joining Moto and FerPatGregELS. "Victor De Rosas says I'm his accomplice."

Watch your back!

Navier tells Asunción to leave carefully, to go slowly, hugging the wall and watching her back. He'll make sure Reina gets home safely. Reina worries about Navier's safety. He promises he won't die. He needs to see Clara again and draw a dragon for her. It's funny how close he feels to her. Maybe because he never had children...

Asunción makes her way down the exterior staircase of the safe house. She looks all around her but doesn't see the danger that lurks...

Anyone in Las Vegas wearing a black stocking cap is up to no damn good.

Estefi sits beside López 2.0 and peers at Asunciòn through binoculars.

Navier and Reina have a hard time saying goodbye.

Aren't they ever going to be together? That question has no answer...

The time has come, the porn star said...

NovelaMaven- Great job keeping all of last nights revelations and crazy plot developments straight, while doing it with your trademark humor.

OK. We have confirmation that P/FELS is Greg Jr., big bro of Reina/little bro of Stefi. Not a shocker at this point. But I was shocked that he doesn't seem to be evil. He really seems to believe that he and Stefi are working to take down Victor. What a dope! Did he really believe Stefi's flimsy lie that she didn't tip off Vic? Why did he tell her in the first place that they were about to arrest Vic?

He knows his sister is the notorious thief Reina de Diamantes, and yet he does nothing but tsk tsk her when he catches her with that crown?! (If Stefi can get into Vic's vault, then the CIA should be able to as well.) Does he want to take down Vic just because he hurt Stefi, or also because he's a criminal? Because if Vic being a criminal is one of his motivations, then he should be putting his sister in jail for the same crimes (trafficking in stolen gems and murder). He seems to love Stefi. He seems to love Smith. Both women want Navier safe, so I believe he's motivated to make sure that happens. Not sure what he feels for Reina or Asuncion after recently learning he's related to them.

I have been wondering for some time why Stefi has been twittling her thumbs, letting Vic get away with so many things and even helping him avoid jail multiple times now! Hasn't she sworn revenge on him a gazillion times now? She better have some kind of mind-blowing vengeance scheme planned for her end game, otherwise I will be VERY disappointed.

Was I the only one creeped out by Navier's stalker speech to Reina? "Hey baby, you don't need to be sure of anything or have any peace of mind, because I have peace of mind. Yeah, I've been watching you on secret cameras 24-7, and whenever I see you UNDRESS I get horny." Say what?!!!

NovelaMaven - Thank you for the recap and the snark!

Here is StalkerJavier's new theme song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMOGaugKpzs
('cuz everyone needs a theme song, according to Ally McBeal's therapist)

While Reina & Javier are having their post-nookie stalker conversation, Asunción is outside the building, and Victor is in jail. Who is watching Clarita??? Izzy?

Well I have to admit that the FPGELS reveal was . . . underwhelming. Anti-climactic. Disappointing. I was hoping for a bit more excitement around the “big reveal” but, eh, whatevs. We all figured it was him, anyway.

I am so over Juanjo/Susana. !Ya basta! I felt really sorry for Yoli last night. Shame on you, Juanjo, for using Yoli so horribly and unrepentantly.

Moto is the world’s worst interrogator. Since when does the medical examiner-autopsy person interrogate perps?

"Bolívar is a free man," says Greg, "free in the eyes of the law. But he'll never be free of you and me."
This does NOT bode well for our galán.

Gosh, I really wish I had invested in the chloroform-making company.

Great recap, NovelaMaven.
I particularly liked:
Quick Check -- Boobs? Bed? No Big Red!
Freedom's just another word for, "I own you Bolívar."
Anyone in Las Vegas wearing a black stocking cap is up to no damn good.

You asked about this:
EF: Estefi makes a phone call. "Victor, they're coming for you. I can help you. Your freedom in exchange for the crown." She texts something and then thought-bubbles with a look of great satisfaction: Jamás podría salvarlo. (A little help here, guys: He could never save it?? I could never save him??)

For what it's worth, the English titles had it as, "I could never save him." Presumably, the text was to someone other than Victor since she had just called Victor. Was it to the mystery person that she is concealing from FELS? (I'm sticking with FELS - I echo Mauricio's header from a previous episode, which referred to Navier but works here: Please don't give him another name. This guy now has 4 if you count "El Supremo" as a name!)

I too was underwhelmed by the revelation that FELS is Estefi's brother. I just don't like that actor at all.

So FELS found out that Asunción was his mother when Reina told him about her brother. That means the first time he interrogated Asunción, he didn't know, which is why he was so nice to her, our previous assumption that he was nice to her because he knew she was his mother was wrong.

It was definitely weird that Estefi didn't take Vic's red diamonds since she believes that he stole them from her. The red diamond distribution as of last night's episode is:
Victor - 2;
Navier - 1
Christián - 1
I agree that Christián is in way over his head with the red diamond business.

So Estefi and López 2.0 must have arrived outside Navier's place between the time Navier determined that the coast was clear and when Asuncíon left the building.

Jean, thanks for weighing in on the translation of that line. I think the problem with it is that even when we know what it means, we don't know what it MEANS. :)

I'm intrigued by this Gregorio jr. He seems determined to bring down the bad guys while saving his little sister. He is bound to Estefi by affection, gratitude and blood, but I doubt that he knows that she continues to be a MURDERER and of course, a liar. He can live with her checkered past and the knowledge that she USED TO BE the Queen of Diamonds, but can he really tolerate the person she has become?

In spite of his GIANT BRAIN, I don't think Gregorio realizes that his sister has turned into a monster.

It's pretty clear that Estefi didn't want Gregorio to know that Asunción was his mother because then he would also know that Reina is his sister.

Does Gregorio know how Estefi lied to NN and Reina way back when? I don't think he would have sanctioned that either.

Doris, I was actually glad to see Yolanda stop smiling. Her cluelessness was getting on my nerves.

[She was pretty insulting to Susana, assuming that the señora must be paying Juanjo for his favors.]

Yolanda needs to get out of the house more!
:D

another wonderful recap NovelaMaven,
thank you so much!

Gregorio being the lost brother, wow, not that his intentions were ever clear, but this sure puts a shadow over the story we have already seen, and his constant intervention in the Dragon family, look at all of the times he's made deals with Reina and never followed through with his part, and the way his missions for Javier always took him apart from Reina, (never telling him Clara was his daughter), culminating in an order to marry Estefi (was this her idea), but now we see his blood bond with Estefi, but what about with Reina, this doesn't seem to compute in his bio logical thinking that is masked by his turbulent emotions over his mother (similar to Javier's for his mother) and after all, isn't Javier his prime competitor, for his job, and his life that he takes so seriously, can he ever succeed with this blind spot he has with Estefi and the deadly game she plays with Victor, and what about Esmith, and the betrayal to her this will cause, I think only the Dragon will be able to sort this mess out, and possibly his only redemption will be the forgiving sister Reina.

The fact that Javier has gone underground, without PFGELS nor even Esmeeth knowing where he is, might be because he doesn't trust PFGELS , and Esmeeth by association. Hopefully our Dragon has a sixth sense about whateverhisnameis. Should we start referring to him as Gregorio? All these names and aliases are wearing me out.

"In spite of his GIANT BRAIN, I don't think Gregorio realizes that his sister has turned into a monster."

So true! But he knows she is holding back something.
Clearly Stefy is more messed up than Greg. Didn't she see her parents' murder? That would affect anyone's mind and even moreso a child's.

Doris,

Clearly Stefy is more messed up than Greg.

True enough. But remember the scene some time ago when Estefi and Victor talked about how they were before Big O ruined everything (he convinced Victor that Estefi was HIS mistress and the baby she was expecting was probably not even Victor's)?

Before that, they were con artists and thieves but they weren't murderers. Big O pushed them over the edge and they both became monsters. I suppose their pasts had primed them for it, but without that extra stressor, their lives might have taken very different paths.

Thks NovelaMaven for the recap!

[O...Kay..] I thought exactly the same thing when FELS announced that Javier was never getting away from him or Stefi. I wish I could go back and see all their interactions now. Also, I would really like to know what FELS feels towards Reina. Like already mentioned, it's interesting that he does want to do his job (mostly). Not that it does him much good when he reveals sensitive CIA info. and allows his sister to continue with her law-breaking ways.

Vivi, I assumed that Stefi was able to get the crown because Vic gave her the password in exchange for helping him out. Don't know why she didn't get the diamonds, unless they were somewhere else. & I love your interpretation of Javier's speech to calm Reina down about the cameras, HA!

Doris, yeah Juanjo/Susanna ughhh.

jlk

NM - Big O definitely left a lot of flotsam and jetsam in his wake.

I'll- Why Stefi didn't take the diamonds in the vault is another mystery. What I'm shaking my head at is why FELS didn't jump on the opportunity to see what's in there and have more ammunition against Vic. You would have thought that would be one of his first thoughts when Stefi said she "figured out" how to get into Vic's vault.

jlk, not I'll. LOL!

Thanks so much for the fabulous recap, NovelaMaven!

I am SO disappointed about PFELS. So all the rest of you who were certain he insisted Navier marry Estefi (or go back to jail) because he was her brother were right.

I'm pretty sure he's going to end up losing everything. Esmeeth is NOT going to forgive his forcing her son to marry a woman he does not love - and not for the good of the CIA - but to please his criminal sister!

Why is Connie such a dope? # char

Cara de impactada over tonight's revelation! We did not see that one coming.

LOL moment tonight :
Yoli --- "Adios pantera."
Pantera -"Adios."

Forget the Body Counts -- somebody should be keeping track of Doris's LOL moments!

My head is still spinning from this one. I have no idea what is true and what is not. But oh how my heart is breaking for Esmeeth!

Compared to Christian Palacios, Izzy is a prince among men.

I'm late to the party but thank you NovelaMaven for the Tuesday recap. I also did not understand the "no podria salvarlo" remark, so thanks Jean for trying to explain it.

Adide from the very unsurprising fact about FELS being STEFI's brother, I've been wondering something else. Why did Dra. Moto and FELS marriage not work out? He said he was always unhappy, so apparently was unhappy while married to her. I would like to hear the lowdown on that. It is another interesting mystery to me.

Oh, and shame on Jaunjo for using Yoli like that.

Miércoles Parte Uno

It must not be fun to be in that box being carried up and down all those stairs
Reina asks when Navier will return. Soon, very soon, he says. Reina gets back in the box. The guys take the box out. Estefi and López are watching. Boris is driving the truck.

Cops don’t steal [or lie, see below]
Izzy tries to convince Connie that he didn’t take the diamond. She says that the police don’t steal. She won’t turn against Christián. She and Izzy could never be happy. He works for a killer and is probably an accomplice. Izzy says that her policeman will never make her happy. He doesn’t rob hearts like Izzy, he robs diamonds. Izzy leaves.

I’m going to give this interrogation room a bad review on Yelp
Victor is impatient in the interrogation room. He wants better coffee and food. FELS comes in and Vic is pleased to be interrogated by the chief. That’s what someone of his genius deserves. FELS asks if Vic has any proof that Esmeeth warned him that he was going to be arrested. Vic says that he got a message from Esmeeth. There’s more, says Vic, Esmeeth stole jewels from Big O but didn’t let Vic report her. Esmeeth yells at Vic and denies that she ever stole anything from him. Vic says that they have no evidence against him and should let him go.

Greta is the happiest person in the world. Susana is happy, too. The evil doctor comes in and says that he needs to do some tests.

Susana tells Juanjo that she knows about the humiliation of being cheated on by someone. Vic was seeing other women while he was married to her. She wouldn’t wish on anyone what Yolanda witnessed last night. JJ says that Yoli won’t forgive him. Up comes Laz and passes on the news that he will be a Dad. JJ is happy. Vic overhears that Greta is still preggers.

FELS says that the CIA is investigating Victor’s accusations against Esmeeth. She reads his body language to say that he doesn’t trust her. FELS admits that maybe his feelings for her are clouding his judgment. Dr Moto comes in and says that they have located the phone from which the message to Vic was sent.

I get arrested for a few hours and everything around here goes to hell
Vic is home. He sends a text: I was at the hospital and I didn’t find you, doctor. It’s urgent that you call me concerning Greta’s pregnancy. Victor. Asunción comes in and seems surprised to see Victor. He asks for Reina but Asunción is forced to tell him that she isn’t home and Asunción doesn’t know where she is. [this scene not in Mexican broadcast]

We’re all waiting for you to jump out of your box
Connie is calling Reina from her bachelorette party. She says that some of her friends are there, including a weeping Yoli, and they are all waiting for her. She says that that she had a small problem with the “red thing,” Reina knows what she means. Some male strippers arrive including one guy in a mask and cape. [this scene not in Mexican broadcast]

Miércoles - Parte Dos

Doesn’t anyone just knock at the door?
Somebody is sneaking down the stairs of Navier’s hideout wearing a mask. Navier greets the person with a gun and takes the mask off to reveal Estefi. “Aren’t you glad to see your wife again?” asks Estefi. [this scene not in Mexican broadcast]

I prefer to stay in my man cave and watch surveillance videos
Navier asks how she found him. She says that she had her best people looking for him. She suspected something was going on at this location but never suspected it was Navier. She asks why he doesn’t come back - he is free of all charges. Navier replies that he prefers to wait. Navier says that Estefi has done a lot for him, she almost gave her life for him. Estefi replies that if he doesn’t come back to her, she should have died. She can’t live without him. [most of this scene not in Mexican broadcast]

Dr Moto has located the cell phone from which the text to Victor was sent on the screen that shows you whatever you want to see. It’s at Esmeeth’s house. She, FELS and Dr. Moto decide to go there. Esmeeth says that she has nothing to hide. [this scene not in Mexican broadcast]

Connie is not enjoying the strippers at the party but Yoli is.

That’s an understatement
Susana tells Juanjo that she could tell Yoli that what happened was her fault. She seduced JJ and practically raped him. JJ says that he doesn’t like lying to women. Susana admits that she lies a lot.

If I can’t threaten Reina, then her mother will have to do
Victor can’t locate Reina on his smartphone and is annoyed that she seems to have removed the cheep from her watch. He calls Izzy, who, of course, doesn’t answer. Vic leaves a message saying that he has lost Reina and Izzy doesn’t answer. He is fed up. He says that this is the last time he calls Izzy. Asunción comes in. Victor says that she must have hoped that he would spend the rest of his life in prison. While the cat was away, the mice played. He suggests that Asunción tell him where Reina is while he is being nice. She doesn’t want him to be nasty. His nasty expression changes when Clarita comes in looking for her mother. Asunción sends her to the kitchen for cake. Victor returns to being menacing. He grabs Asunción’s neck and says that if Reina doesn’t return, Asunción will responsible. “Can’t you just let her be happy?” asks Asunción. “That’s all I think about,” replies Vic. He says that she has no idea how thankful he is that Asunción is his suegra, mother in law. [this scene not in Mexican broadcast]

Some public libraries are so hard up they rent out their space to kidnappers at night
We see what looks like a library and Reina is tied up there and blindfolded. [this scene not in Mexican broadcast]

Miércoles - Parte Tres

Who is that masked guy who can’t dance but has a tight a**?
The masked Leopard at the bachelorette party reveals himself to be Izzy.

Greta and Laz discuss what sex they would like their baby to be and Greta exhibits jealousy about Laz’s affection for motorcycle riding-women. Laz notices that Greta has a fever and the doctor examines her. Later, the doctor says that he needs to talk to Susana.

The phone doesn’t lie
FELS, Dr. Moto and Esmeeth arrive at her house. Dr. Moto has a tablet that leads her right to a phone that she picks up up without regard to fingerprints that might be on it. The message to Victor was sent from it.

I don’t do marital counseling
Christián comes to see Victor. Vic notices the bandage on Christián’s wrist. Christián says that it was from something that might have been an accident but which Christián thinks was actually caused by Izzy because Christián is marrying Connie. Victor excuses himself from assisting with romantic problems but Christián says that is not why he came. He wants to talk about a red diamond.

Estefi tells Navier that she knows that he is a secret agent.

If this is true Reina should get the Academy Award for best amnesia performance
Someone comes in to the library, takes off Reina’s blindfold and is revealed to be - Boris the Belgian! “You work for Navier,” says Reina. “Yes,” replies Boris, “and I won’t let you betray my boss the way you betrayed Señor Octavio.” “What are you talking about?” asks Reina. “I know perfectly well who you are,” says Boris, “you are a spy who wants to send Navier back to prison and that is why you will die.” He cocks his gun. “You are right,” says Reina, “I’m a spy and I wanted to send Big O to prison. All I want now is to get revenge on Navier. I know everything. I never lost my memory. You are right. You know what you have to do. Do it.” Reina goes on to say that Boris probably knows that Big O gave her the proofs not only to send him to prison but to take down the whole organization. She has gotten even more information through her relationship with Navier so he should think twice about pulling the trigger (gatillo) because it won’t be only her death but his, too. Boris slaps her.

Too bad you already crossed the line, Estefi
Estefi notes that Navier isn’t denying being a secret agent. “There’s no point,” replies Navier, “you already know.” Estefi says that she knows everything - that he didn’t get close to Vic for personal vengeance but was assigned to get evidence to send Vic to jail. “Or am I wrong?” asks Estefi. Navier doesn’t reply. Estefi says that what she can’t get her head around in this story is her. He has enough proof to send her to jail. He knows everything about what she does, that she is the Queen of Diamonds but he hasn’t done anything. “And I won’t,” replies Navier, “as long as you don’t cross the line and harm those I love and you know who they are, as long as you don’t betray me and make me take action, as long as you don’t do something that makes me not take pity on you anymore.”

Miércoles - Parte Cuatro

Cops never lie, right?
Christián tells Victor that Connie had a red diamond hidden in her house. Vic asks if it was the one that was stolen from the exhibit. Christián isn’t sure. He tells Vic about the curse. Vic scoffs. Christián goes on to say that the diamond was stolen from Connie’s house. Only two people knew it was there - him and Izzy. He didn’t steal it so it must have been Izzy. Vic looks grim.

You can’t resist my sexy cape
Back at the bachelorette party, Izzy carries Connie into her bedroom. He gyrates around while Connie tells him to stop dancing, leave, that she is a decent woman who is going to marry Christián the next day. [I swear I saw the actress playing Connie suppress a laugh when Izzy stuck his butt in her face.] He says that if she wants a bachelorette party, he’ll give her one and jumps on top of her. Connie protests ineffectually.

I want to talk to Mr Big
Boris demands that Reina tell him where the proof are. He knows that she hasn’t turned them in. Reina says that she wants more proof. She is ambitious. Boris starts to choke her. She asks if he really wants to be doing that. He stops and asks what she wants. She replies that proofs are on their way and only she can stop them. She wants a deal. She doesn’t want to deal with peons anymore. She wants Boris to take her to meet the big boss.

It’s kind of an unusual marriage
Navier tells Estefi that she is going back alone and that is non-negotiable. She will forget about this place and she’ll wait for him. She replies that she has waited for him for 8 years. Every time she thinks she has him, she loses him. She asks if one day she will have him “para siempre” “forever.” Navier gives a bitter little laugh. He says that he doesn’t believe in the words, “siempre y nunca,” “forever and never.” “Nada es para siempre y nunca se sabe que puede pasar.” “Nothing lasts forever and you never know what is going to happen.” But, he says that he will return as her husband. “Because your bosses order it or because you want to? “¿Importa?” “Does it matter?” asks Navier. “No,” replies Estefi. She says that because she loves him and one day he won’t be able to live without her. She kisses him - he doesn’t respond. She says that no one can love him as much as she does. She is sure of it and he doesn’t know how much it hurts her that he hasn’t realized that. She lets him know that Greta and Laz are expecting a child.

Miércoles - Parte Cinco

”I’ll handle it” probably doesn’t mean Izzy will get a poor performance review
Vic says that Christián knows how he gets when someone betrays him. He isn’t surprised the Izzy is a thief. He has been acting very strange lately. Vic asks Christián to do nothing and let him handle the situation. Vic says that he isn’t wild about Christián marrying Connie but if that is what he wants, it’s his problem.

I’m not giving you a tip
Connie and Izzy have had sex while the party is going on outside. There’s a knock at the door. It’s Yoli. She wants to know if Connie is ok. If she feels bad, Yoli will have the army guy knock the door down. No, cries Connie. She is fine. She opens the door while Izzy hides behind her. Yoli comes in. Connie tells her that she wasn’t feeling well. Yoli says that they can’t find the masked guy, the panther with the “nalgas duras,” “the tight butt.” The girls are upset because they paid for 3 guys and one has disappeared. Connie replies that she doesn’t care. “Ok,” says Yoli, “goodbye Connie, goodbye Pantera.” Reflexively, Izzy replies, “goodnight.”

If we’re talking about CIA security, Esmeeth is in big trouble
Esmeeth demands all the surveillance videos of her house, lists of who came in and out, what workmen we there. The doorbell rings. It’s FELS. He says that only 3 people knew that Victor was going to be arrested - him, Dr. Moto and Esmeeth. FELS says that he knows it wasn’t Dr. Moto. Esmeeth tells him that it doesn’t bother her that she might lose her job and go to jail for something she didn’t do. What does bother her is something coming between her and FELS.

I guess Asunción never dusts up there
We see Vic. He flashes back to being in the kitchen and getting the call about the agents coming for him from Estefi. They make their deal about the crown. Then Vic says that he doesn’t understand why Estefi wants to incriminate Esmeeth. Estefi tells him that is none of his business. Vic stashes the ID-3000 in a cookie jar or something and finds a non-lethal bracelet above the crown molding. He puts it on. End of flashback. A maid, shadowed by Asunción, brings him some food but Vic replies that he isn’t hungry.

Maybe you could do some reading while you are tied up in the library
We see Reina still tied up and scooting along the floor towards her bracelet. She bumps into the shelves and a book falls out. The title is “Diamonds - Legends and [the Telemundo logo covered up the last word.] I guess it’s time for Reina to find out about the curse of the red diamonds.

Your friends wouldn’t tell you but Reina is not the right woman for you
Navier finally looks at his monitor after his chat with Estefi. He notices that the signal shows that she isn’t at her house. He wonders if it is a mistake or if something is wrong. Boris replies that it isn’t a mistake. The only mistake was Navier’s in getting involved with Reina. It was he who kidnapped her. He tells Navier that he has found out that it was Reina who blackmailed Big O and got the diamonds and the proofs from him. She is a spy for the intelligence service and never lost her memory. Cara de impactado de Navier.

Jean – thank you for the recap, snark and the clever section titles. (Too many favs for me to list.)

”I’m going to give this interrogation room a bad review on Yelp” LOL That Victor is a piece of work.

”If this is true Reina should get the Academy Award for best amnesia performance”
Absolutely! And a TV y Novelas award.

Very strange that some of the better scenes were cut from the Mexican broadcast.

After a couple of bordering-on-notmuchaction-episodes, the writers grabbed us by the throat with this episode. Wow!

Jean – Yes, the actress (who is playing Connie) was definitely trying to suppress laughs a few times during Izzy’s “I’m too sexy for my cape” scene in her bedroom.
When he threw her down on the bed, she just laid there, verbally objecting sort-of, but she just laid there. Reminded me of that scene in Moonstruck where Cher does a similar thing with Nic Cage.

Could Dr Moto have framed Esmeeth? There is a certain tension between them over Gregorio/Patricio/Fernando/Stefy’sBrother/ElSupremo. Esmeeth really needs better locks on her doors & windows.

As usual, I watched the Mexican broadcast at lunchtime. It was really choppy. For example, the first scene at the bachelorette party was when Izzy revealed himself to Connie. So I was very pleasantly surprised when the US broadcast had all these other scenes. The Mexican broadcast must have been shortened for some reason.

Doris: I think it was pretty clear that Estefi has framed Esmeeth. Explaining that was the purpose of Vic's flashback to his conversation with Estefi in the kitchen, after which he hid the ID-3000.

The question is whether FELS believed Estefi's denial that she told Victor that the CIA was coming for him. If he did, he is going to suspect Esmeeth. But would an experienced agent like Esmeeth leave an
incriminating cell phone in her house?

My vote is for Izzy, plus he's a "fancy" dancer. #char

Marvelous recap, Jean! Thank you!

What episode was this in Mexico? (I'm almost pleased that WE finally got to see something -- other than some weird product placement -- that they didn't) :-)

I was yelling at Laz not to leave Greta alone with the evil doctor. I fear for her and her pregnancy.

Boris of Belgium -- not his finest hour.

Yoli seems to have bounced back nicely from her romantic disappointment. She's not a girl who overthinks things, is she?

Wow -- the tough, smart Reina who thinks on her ...well, not exactly her feet. But I do want to see a new outfit tonight!

Will Gregorio really be bamboozled by his sociopathic sister? Let's see that giant brain in action!

So is Estefi going to run back to Gregorio and tell him where to find Navier?

Or is Navier going to anticipate the above and find a new hide-out before then?

Thanks Jean for the wonderful recap!

I thought Reina was bluffing when she told Boris of Belgium that she never lost her memory and was out for vengence against Navier and had the proof that could send the whole organization to prison. Can't wait until tonight to see what happens next.

Poor Esmeeth. I hate where this is going, I think Estefy wants to incriminate Esmeeth because she wants PELS all to herself. Too bad it looks like the plan is working and PELS is falling for it.

The doctor looked concerned as he looked at his papers after telling Greta he had to do some tests. Then she had a fever. This can't be good. It was too good to be true for so much happiness to be taking place.

I loved the scene with the strippers and with Izzy pretending to be one as well. Yoli was sure having such a good time. Did you all catch when Yoli slapped Izzy on his tight butt?

I wanted to slap Christian for telling Victor about the red diamond. What was he thinking????

I know this late but thanks NovelaMaven for the wonderful recap of Tuesday's episode!

I too wasn't shocked to find out PELS was the brother since we all knew it was him. I was however shocked to see wearing something casual.

Hmmm..so was PELS alredy El Supremo back when he and Estefy were reunited? or did he become El Supremo after? I hope we find out.

I'm surprised that so much was cut from the Mexican broadcast. I'm glad Telemundo left all those scenes in since there were some important things that were cut from the Mexican broadcast.

What episode was this in Mexico? (I'm almost pleased that WE finally got to see something -- other than some weird product placement -- that they didn't) :-)

It was Episode 78. It is the episode from August 13th. Reina only aired for 30 minutes on that day.

Jean - I completely did not add up the scene with Victor switching out the bracelet and the framing of Esmeeth. Thanks. My dislike of DocMoto clouds my thinking. She is hiding something...

Mauricio, thanks for the info on the episode number!

You're Welcome, NovelaMaven!

That was funny how Victor had a dummy bracelet hidden somewhere in the kitchen.

Hmmm..so is the ID 3000 still in the cookie jar?

Thanks Jean!

As much as I'm over Izzy/Connie, I found the stripper scene pretty hysterical. & Yoli sure knows how to let her hair down.

It would of been funny if Navier did answer Stefi's rhetorical question on whether he was happy to see his wife with I prefer to stay in my man cave and watch surveillance videos. She still all over him even after he ask whether it's important if he goes back of his own free will or not? She kind of reminds me of an evil version of the cartoon character Elmyra.

I found it interesting that Navier drew that line with Stefi. Since it seems like Stefi is messing with Smith, I wonder if he'll turn on her soon if it all comes to light. & he totally needs to find a new place, way too many people know now.

Doris, not a fan of Dr.Moto either. & I don't like how she's involved in everything at the CIA offices. Forensic, tech, interrogation...

jlk

jlk - it will be interesting to see his reaction whenever Javier learns that eight years ago Stefy lied to him about Reina, etc., and that Clarita is his daughter.

I don't understand why a forensics doctor like Moto was allowed to do an interrogation. Are they short on agents? Is she Rocky's replacement?

Thanks for the info on the episode #, Mauricio.

I think that Dr. Moto is effectively Rocky's replacement. Rocky was needed as Navier's confidant and helper. Now that Navier is rarely at headquarters and FELS is his boss, they didn't really need Rocky anymore. It ggis ridiculous that Dr. Moto does everything - interrogations; forensic medicine and data collection at the CIA but as FELS' ex and Laz's buddy, she provides more plot opportunities than Rocky did.
