FAMILY FEUD

Ana’s answer to The Big Question is another question: why didn’t Don Fernando fight for their love?  Because I was an idiot!  No, she reasons, it was because he didn’t love her enough.

Nando takes Edith Munster home after their miraculous drowning rescue of Xi from the pool.  (Makes me curious if Edith-Death-Becomes-Her instead of St. Peter was the first thing Xi saw when regaining consciousness, did Xi think she’d succeeded in her suicide attempt?)

Ana finally sleeps on the rough jail cell bench and dreams a combo of Cinderella and Ice with a type of competition for her two contending Prince Charmings and two slippers, neither of which fits. It turns into a nightmare.  (Kiddie fare. FF>>)
Bruno’s still a mental case.

The next morning the airing of the family laundry is pretty rank as Ana and Don Fernando return to a pacing and very angry and accusative Diego.  Don Nicolas tells him he’s past the line.  Why?  He reproaches Ana for cheating on him with his big brother.  What?  How?...Why????  “—My heart is yours????”  that’s why.  He saw the whole thing—practically—on tape, especially that kiss.  Ruh-roh.  Doesn’t matter that Ana tries to defend her defending him.  He saw what he saw.  Doesn’t matter that Estefania left him because of his footloose and fancy-free life-style, not to mention any number of infidelities before Don Fernando and she became an item., and yadda, yadda.  Ana reminds all three men that she was very clear about her confusion and her feelings towards DF from the very beginning.

Meanwhile, Nando prepares Xi-I want-it–painted-black for her mother’s return to take responsibility finally for her daughter’s condition.

Bety learns over at the company offices that Enrique has been named the interim president.  She’ll continue as the prez’s sexratary BTW.  Celebration time.  They enter the office.  He tells her to box up DF’s stuff.  He barks at her over DF’s unsigned letter of resignation.

Leon gets another bill for Tamara’s unpaid funeral expenses along with a threat he’ll be sued if the bill isn’t paid ASAP.  (Don’t these people ever think ahead and just go with what they can afford?)  Yawn.

Alicia and BFF continue with their computerized femme fatale fiction.  FF>>
The argument spins out—“And if I did approach Ana, so what?  You gonna come after me?”  It ends in a slug fest till Don Nico drops over from a heart attack due to the anxiety and upset.  Isabrooda blames Ana, natch, but Ana tells her to stuff it.

The family ends up at the hospital where Don Nico dreams about the happy times with his grand kids.

Reeky finds out from Bety, while surfing the net or something else equally as productive…. that Don Nico’s in the hospital with serious heart problems.  He’s smiling from ear to ear as she walks out of the room.  His  culminating act of venganza papa for papa cannot be very far off now.  He tells Isa later that his plan is to insure that DF continues to believe they’re closest of friends.

The doctor comes out to tell Jennifer that he’ll need open heart surgery.  50-50 chance of survival.

Xi’s momma returns and offers a solution: go to a therapeutic ranch in the U.S. where they treat people specifically afflicted with Bi-Polar disease.  “--Do it for your boyfriend, at least?”  Xi looks like she might agree with her for once.

Ana returns home to tell the kids about their granddad when they arrive home from school.  In the meanwhile she saves Bruno, still a memory-less mental case, from being harassed and abused by Yo-low Yolanda as she tries undressing him in her bedroom after claiming they’ve been lovers this whole time.  FF>>FF>>

Reeky arrives at the hospital to give his respects to DF and family as they wait for the results of the surgery.  DF suggests it was Linda who planned the scandal.  Reeky quickly agrees it had to have been.

Isa shows up next and gives her emotional support—as a friend.  He falls for it.  He’s too blinded by the pain and guilt of all that’s transpired to be thinking clearly.

Once the kids arrive home, Ana explains the situation about Don Nico and the group of them begin praying for his recovery.

Thanks, J., for this nifty summary. You gave me some good morning laughs!

Not sure what there is to say beyond your many wry observations. Looks like Bruno is returning, which is a good thing. I actually agreed with Isabela about Manuela and the crying. And, the other night, it was fun to see Sebas laughing with the kids and Johnny and being a happy fellow for a change.

Lots more episodes before our shrieking lovers unite.

Great recap, Jardinera, thanks! "Xi-I-want-it-painted-black" is a perfect description.

Great argument/fight scene between Fernando and Diego with Nico as the referee. Diego has more resentments than just Estefanía and Ana as he accused Nico with the old "you always loved Fernando more" theme. Then, as already mentioned, it turns out Diego is no angel either. At least Ana has been honest with Diego whether he wanted to accept her truth or not. Too much wishful thinking on his part. Time to move on. He is starting to look like the baby of the family who is throwing a tantrum and won't growup.

Creepy: Enrique showing up at the hospital to "comfort" Fernando but clearly enjoying his pain.

Sad Point: León with his mother's funeral bill. With his level of earnings, I think a bill of any amount is equivalent to a fortune and must seem insurmountable.

Some much needed humor: I loved the fairytale sequence with neither shoe fitting. Also, Bruno with yet another wonderful tongue twister and then Ana having to save him from Yolanda who was like a kid with a new toy trying to get him into the Jacuzzi to refresh his memory.

Thanks for the recap!

Can't be coincidental that Xime's ranch is in CA when Gus is moving there too. I bet they fall in love and she never returns. Or so we can hope!

Diego is out of control with jealous rage. I hope he calms down a bit tonight.

Fer does seem somewhat skeptical of Reeky. His business gut seems to be better than his personal instincts. Should we be worried that Reeky will try to kill Nico in the hospital if he starts recovering well from the surgery? Yes, he is that psychotic.

Can't believe Betty still likes Reeky? My opinion of her has plummeted.

When is Isa going to move out? It was supposed to be like two days she needed so why is the apartment taking so long to get ready? Get those two awful people out of the house already!

I fear Alicia's scheme is going to put her in a really bad situation and the adults are so concerned with their problems that they won't notice until it is too late.

Thanks so much Jardinera.

I loved it when Diego called Nic out on encouraging him to go for Ana, the old man did do it and thought he would do a little even the score meddling. Oops.

Poor Nando & Fanny to hear their mother was involved with their uncle before their father and watched as their uncle became obsessively involved with Ana as their grandpa marries a woman half his age. Those Lascuráin men are real winners.

Ana - you'd think it flattering but it's not

Betty - one out of 4 ain't bad

Alicia - chum, there will be a feeding frenzy

Ricky - I'm here for dance on his grave warmups

Isabela - all I gotta do is not get in the way

Nic - did they stop

Yowsers--what an episode. Thanks Jardinera for giving us this great recap of what went down. I missed half of it since it was being yelled.

Frankly, though I've been a fan of Diego up to now, if I had been standing there I would have taken both those 'grown" men and knocked their heads together. Hello, Fer, your children are watching, and Diego, give it up and if you think they both hurt you, be hurt (whether right or wrong) and be the bigger person and back down. You're not winning points with anyone.

Couldn't help but feel Diego knew he lost the war on all fronts, and was going out with a bang ( or slug). Unfortunately, Nico was the casualty. But what really bugged the blazes out of me is that for either of these two lamebrains, his attack STILL didn't get them to stop and in the hospital were still being ten year olds. I thought it very cute they showed the twins fussing and wrestling back at the house because that's exactly what their elders looked like.

Yeah, I was right there with Isa on Manuela's wailing. I swear, this director has a sorry idea of humor with the women being screechy and wailing. Just no! As for Eeky, love the look Fer gave him and then he went right back to his inability to read people again. Guy has no business there, just tell him thanks for coming but he can go. Period.

And I admit--I was cheering the suddenly caring Xi's mom who is trying to ship her off to California. Carvivlie--from your mouth to the writer's pen. Hope she leaves for good--sorry don't like the character.

Jardinera654---I do not comment on this one because I can't stay on the computer for most of the day however I have been watching Mi Corazon Es Tuyo pretty much every night. I just wanted to say that your title was the first thing that I saw when I turned on my computer this morning and immediately broke out with a big smile. Oh my goodness that really was a "Family Feud" last night. Yesterday I just read a little bit
the part where Ana told Fernando
that after all she was second choice. But there was that kiss which Diego saw. I don't know how
this is going to turn out but I will be reading yesterday's and today's recap and comments to find out.

Great title Jardinera, you sure nailed it.
the gringo

Thank you, Jardinera! Perfect title, and indeed, ALL CAPS. That was quite the blowup.

Diego, maybe the reason everyone treats you like a petulant misbehaving child is because you act like a petulant misbehaving child. Just a thought. Diego does have many good qualities and I hope someday he will live happily ever after with Natalia or someone like her, but he needs some therapy to get over his family issues. I wonder what they were like before Fer's and Diego's mother died.

Enrique is a total creep and it seemed like even Fer was picking up on how weird it was for him to show up at the hospital...but then of course he did nothing about it. Maybe he'll finally snap when he finds out that Frique has taken over his office before he even signed his resignation letter or packed up his personal items?

I agree with Isa about Manuela's wailing and howling, too, but Isa didn't have to stand there and listen to it. Just leave!

The dream scene was funny.

I did not like the twins' exasperated "women!" at Alicia's behavior. Oh, look, they're learning to be little sexist piglets! How cute! Is that really supposed to be funny?

I suspect Leon's finances are about to get worse. Enrique's first act as president will probably be to fire him.

Jardinera: thanks for the great recap.

Carvivlie: thought the same thing about Alicia. Everyone else is so preoccupied with their own drama, no one is paying attention to Ali and she's headed for a major fall.

Can't stand it when someone talks over another when they're trying to explain something. I'm not a big fan of Diego right now. After hearing about how he treated Fanny Sr., I think this has a lot more to do with Fer being the "golden child" and getting something Diego wanted. I can't believe that he truly loved Fanny Sr. since he cheated on her. Hated the previews of Diego crying. Are you crying because you lost your love or because your brother won--again?

Does Xi's mother really care or does she want to put her somewhere where someone else will be responsible for watching over her?

Nanette

I think Xime's mother wants to stash her away someplace where other people will deal with her, but I also think the treatment ranch could be a great thing for Xime. She'd probably get better care, and she'd also be away from her usual scene and company so maybe that combined with some therapy could get her out of her bad behavior patterns that aren't caused by her illness. I did think she had a bit of a turning point with her mother, though, when mommy showed up and Xime didn't seem to care and just walked away, like she expected nothing from her mother anymore. Her mother looked surprised. Maybe they could eventually build a new relationship that isn't based on Xime trying to use her depressive episodes to get attention and sympathy.

Nanette, Good point about the what true intentions of Ximena's mother might be. Looks like it will be a win for Ximena no matter what: paid caretakers could be so much better than no caretakers.

Jarifa

Jardinera thanks for a great recap of this action packed episode.

I am somewhat disappointed in Diego right now. I think he has a warped memory of his relationship with Fanny Sr. I mean he cheated on her! Is that love?

I have IE 11 and have been having trouble with the main page of Caray, Caray since early this morning. The Sidebar isn't showing up. I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this problem. It worked fine last night! Go figure!

Can't wait for tonight's episode. I really like Jen with Don Nico. Please keep Johnny away!!!

Julia and Jarifa: I agree, either way it is good for Xi. I do hope that her mother is turning around, though.

More Edith, please. Really liking this character.

Isa looked genuinely upset when Nico collapsed. I like that they haven't made her completely evil. I also noticed that she reads baby magazines and books. It's probably because she doesn't want to lose her meal ticket (couldn't understand how Diana in DQTQ2 didn't get that), but she could have some feelings for the baby.

I have to say that I was impressed with Natalia walking away the other day. I think she's in love with Diego, but she wouldn't let him use her like that. Good on her.

ITA Nanette. Natalia, as much as I think wants Diego, she won't allow herself to be used.

Good work, Jardinera.

I have no great hopes for Ximena's mother. BTW, does anyone remember what happened to her father?

Again, I hope the writers don't go where I think they're going.

Fernando and Diego were the Nando and Sebastian back in the day; Diego said as much a while back. They were the same ages as Nando and Sebas when their own mother died. But it looks like they never had an Ana.

Urban:

What a teaser: "Again, I hope the writers don't go where I think they're going."

Now you've got me wondering where you're going!

I thought Ximena's parents were merely divorced, meaning her dad isn't dead. So why isn't anyone calling HIM and demanding that he come take care of his daughter?

Thanks very much, Jardinera. You explained much that I missed.

Diego's got to be a player, a flawed character. Otherwise, we all would be miffed with Ana for rejecting him.

Yikes! Alicia is headed for some serious danger. Another PSA opportunity . . .

What's wrong with Edith's eye?

OMG I finally figured it out. Bruno is an exact clone of Tampa Bay Rays recently departed manager Joe Madden.

Thank you Jardinera! Late to the party...I just want the screaming to stop. If I had to watch that scene with the brothers yelling and Don Nico in the background clutching his chest, I would be the one having a heart attack!

I love the actor playing Bruno but please, couldn't they tone him down a bit? Esp now that he is in full blown amnesia.

Also, what is Doroteo going to say about Ana missing a night'w work when she was in jail?

J in Oregon

They didnt expect us to pick up on Ana missing work by being in jail. There is just no one in this tn that Im rooting for except Fanny. Everyone else is just too stupid and/or evil to root for.

I'm rooting for all the kids, Don Nico and Jenny.

I agree, most of the adults are acting so immature, the kids really stand out in this show because they really do seem genuine.

And Enrique calls the young kid--the one that photoshopped the fake kissing picture--to procure the lethal drug? I had the impression he was a design student at the local college or something. Yet within hours he came up with a syringe full of whatever Enrique required. That kid must have really good connections.
