Mi Corazon Es Tuyo, #85 A Busy Day at the Hospital Waiting Room

This recap seems to read like bulletpoints, but the scenes were actually just short and to the point throughout the episode.

We begin with Ana praying with the children that Don Nico will be alright. And under TN rules, when something is prayed for, it will be so. So there you have it. We know that Nico will pull through. Phhew!

Ximena is on her way out the door, when her mama stops her asks her if she thought about what they talked about. Xi wants to talk about it later, that is, if mama is still going to be around. Mama (don’t know her name) says she will be there for as long as she needs her. Xi pulls away suddenly and says ‘who are you and what have you done with my selfish and egocentric mother?’ Did Xi pray for her mother to change her attitude? If so, then that will explain the new improved attitude.

Natalia arrives at the hospital with an inappropriate top that bares her midriff, asking Diego how Nico is. Still in surgery. Isabela asks Fernando who she is and Fernando guesses correctly that it must be one of his past conquests.

Enrique runs to the mens room and calls his henchmen Jerónimo to ask him if he can acquire some potassium chloride to inject in poor sick Nico, and of course this is all to be discreet, lol. Jerónimo goes to the henchman store to buy some.

New PSA about heart attacks and the causes with Ana and the children, trying to explain what happened to Abuelo.

Ximena arrives too, and wants to give Nando support. Jenny then remembers all the good times she had with Nico.
Jonny is being threatened by Doroteo again about being paid, Jonny hasn’t gotten a paycheck from the Lascuráin’s yet, and Doro wants all of it when he gets it or he will tell Fernando that Ana dances at the club. He whines to Dana about getting out from under Doroteo’s thumb, and she may have an idea of how to do it. We aren’t let in on it.

The twins take Bruno to his workshop to help stimulate his memory. It seems to work because he remembers performing at the hospital. Then the younger children are planning something we also aren’t privy to. Ana comes in and the kids act suspiciously, and she wants to know what they are planning.

Back at the hospital waiting room, Enrique tells Fernando that he has been offered the presidency of the company, but he hasn’t accepted it yet, he wants to know what Fernando thinks about it. Why is this man at the hospital with them!?! Too odd.

León is there at the hospital for Fanny now.
Enrique continues, the only reason he would take it is to prepare it for Fernando’s return. Fernando doesn’t believe he will return. He wants to take a long vacation and Enrique should accept the presidency. Enrique says that he hasn’t signed his resignation letter, Fernando agrees, he had a family matter to run to, Enrique asks what that was, and Fernando brushes him off. (Now I’m starting to wonder if Fernando is playing a game here, he seems to be setting something up, IMO).

The children put their plan into action. They get a pan, and head upstairs. Not a stretch to know what they are planning if you’ve ever watched old cartoons when you were a kid.

Alicia and Briana got a hit on Alicia’s internet profile. And he’s supposedly cute! Ana comes in, they hide the tablet and Ana is immediately suspicious. Bruno then comes running is saying he got his memory back, but not before the twins and Luz put their plan into action and take a swing toward Bruno’s head...

Ximena, Fanny, León and Nando are in the hospital cafeteria. Xi tells them about the place in California to help her.
Bruno is saved, they don’t hit him on the head to cure him. They all leave the bedroom, Alicia gets back to the tablet and continues messaging the guy. Briana asks what will they do when she goes to meet him? Hmm, they didn’t think that far ahead.

Enrique meets up with Jerónimo, the same guy he had fake the photo, and they set a plan in action for Enrique to inject the potassium chloride in Nico’s drip.

The operation is over, Jen, Fer and Ana are in the room looking at him. Ana tells him that the kids are in bed, and Bruno has his memory back. Ana comforts Fernando because he’s feeling so sad when Diego comes in and threatens him again. Fer leaves to get coffee. Ana wants to talk to Diego about things, he doesn’t want to, there’s nothing to discuss. So what does Diego want now? Does he want to be with Ana? Because that’s not how you do it. Does he just want to express his pain to everyone and feel sorry for himself? Then he’s doing it right.

Nando isn’t liking the idea that Ximena is going to leave, but this time she’s insisting it would be best. Boy, the tables have turned, Ximena is now the one with the clear vision. Edith sees the intimacy between them and is acting a bit jealous. Now it’s clear she likes him.

In order to complete the arrival to the hospital of the entire cast of My Corazon es Tuyo, now Jonny is at the hospital. Sheesh. Jonny hits on Isabela asking her to coffee, I guess the writers thought we needed to lighten up the moment.

Diego is sitting at Nico’s bedside. Nico wakes up while Diego cries asking for forgiveness. Where’s Jen? Shouldn’t she be called in right about now? Nico’s awake.

Fanny is trying to convince Ana that she shouldn’t reject Fernando. Then Natalia comes over and says hi. She is introduced to Ana, and explains that she is a friend of Diego.

Xi arrives home and tells her mama that she will go to California but only if her mother comes with her. She agrees. What a great mother!

Manuela is crying in the kitchen, when Luz comes in asking to call Ana.

Natalia is prying into Ana and Diego’s relationship, but Ana feels uncomfortable telling a stranger about it. Ana gets a call from Luz and tells her that Abuelo is better.

Diego is home now, continuing to feel so sad, and is ripping up Ana’s pictures. Give me a break. Natalia arrives.

Nando tells Ana and Fernando that Xi tried to kill herself, he saved her life, and Xi is going to California to get help.

Enrique is ready to do his thing, sneaking into Nico’s room with the injection, looking all evily at the camera remembering his own father’s death. He reaches down to his tube,  and as completely expected, we end the episode there.

Thanks, cathyx. The recap was great!

So . . .

Ximena's mom is doing a 180 but can she ever erase having told her she wished she had never been born?

Enrique is going to slip into intensive care to inject Nico. Interesting that intensive care not monitored very carefully. Hospital/intensive care unit security? Nah, this is just a story I keep telling myself.

Fernando is going to take a nice long vacation from work. Evidently money is no problem.

The twins were going to use the old cartoon (as cathyx mentioned) "reversal hit" to restore Bruno's memory. I loved how Luz picked out the correct sartén and how they were all screaming "nooooooooo!" Great comic sequence.

Poor Alicia doesn't know how dangerous her internet activity could be. Not looking good for Alicia.

Isabela did not appreciate being hit on by Johnny. So funny seeing two unlimeable characters interacting.

Diego apologized to Nico. The more I see of him now the more immature he seems. Cathyx said "give me a break" to his ripping up Ana's photos. I totally agree.

"Unlikeable" characters

Jarifa

Diego was right on one thing when Ana still wanted to talk and he said they had nothing more to talk about. They don't.

Jarifa

Thanks Jarifa. That has been another one of my pet peeves about TNs. When someone is in intensive care here and they stop breathing or their monitors go off, it alerts the nurses at the nurses station to come in. But not on these shows. Maybe they don't have that technology in Mexico, but I'll bet they do. And also, how can someone just slip into the room. I'm sure you can't do that in american hospitals.

Cathyx, you just can't wander into hospital rooms here these days, let alone intensive care. Probably the same down there. That does not stop the writers from using that same plot device here in many of our dramas. It is annoying and just shows me that the writers are either ignorant of hospital procedure/protocal or really don't cate because they just want to push the plot along and cannot come up wiht anything more original. Hey, it is just fiction, right? : )

Jarifa

Thanks, Cathy. I was pulled away last night to answer the phone and missed the kids with the frying pan. Your summary clarified how our Brunis came back to life.

I loved the scene between Johnny and Isabela. She played it to the hilt. They are for sure unlikeable . . . and unlimeable characters!

I couldn't tell from the previews whether Nico manages to save himself or not but my guess is that he will be okay. I did enjoy seeing the kids use Sebas' tablet to figure out with Ana's help what was the matter with their grandfather. SN is really excellent with these child actors, as is JS. Can't always be easy.

I can't believe Fernando doesn't see right through the fake faces of IkkyLizard and Isabruja.
And this guy is supposeasy to be a successful businessman?

Thanks cathyx,
-Great recap as always.

-Seems like soon, but not soon enough, Xime will be gone.

-You are right, the whole cast was in the hospital, talking about everything except Nico. Johnny and Enrique had as much business being there as the old guy from the guitar shop (was expecting him to show up any minute with more receipts).

Hi All,

Hope it's ok to comment when I haven't for sometime.

Cathyx I loved your recap. You have a wonderful dry wit. Hard to say but I think these three lines were my favs:

"And under TN rules, when something is prayed for, it will be so. So there you have it. We know that Nico will pull through. Phhew!"

"Xi pulls away suddenly and says ‘who are you and what have you done with my selfish and egocentric mother?’ Did Xi pray for her mother to change her attitude? If so, then that will explain the new improved attitude."

"In order to complete the arrival to the hospital of the entire cast of My Corazon es Tuyo, now Jonny is at the hospital."

I wonder if Johnny hitting on Ickybella had to do with Dana's plan? I hope he's not going to spill the beans as a way to take that issue off the table. And maybe this was discussed, but maybe that prison scene would have been a good time for Ana to discuss her doble vida?

Hasta Luego!
Rebecca

Great job cathyx.

"(Now I’m starting to wonder if Fernando is playing a game here, he seems to be setting something up, IMO)." I think (hope) so too

I just want to slap some sense into Diego. He barely knows this woman and raising this much stink in front of everybody.

Please, somebody get a clue about Ricky and hope it is Fernando. Surely he smells something for Ricky to be appointed this quickly and why would Fernando give a blessing to the guy that hit on his daughter?

Loved it when Fanny asked Fernando when Isabela was moving out

Ximena's Mom - sure I'll go, the brochure said it near Rodeo Dr.

Diego - get up off the floor crying, you're embarrassing us all in the grocery checkout

Nando - whew

Alicia - if he wants to meet we'll just go someplace dark

Natalia - around Diego at least I would never screech and scream......well almost never

Bruno - oh I remember, still gotta work with that crazy ex

Jenny - all this drama seems so inconsequential right now

Edith - what's wrong with me, school girl crush and all

Fernando could possibly be dumb as a box of rocks and got the job because his Dad owned the company. If he cant see through Reeky he is not only dumb....but as nieve as Alicia.

please donot let reeky kill Nico I want jenny and him to be happy so i am hoping someone come in the room quick!

It's great to see a lot of guys on the Nico/Jen bandwagon. If the writers start a Jen/Johnny plot line, I'M OUT OF HERE !!

I'm not crazy about Nic as a character, think the 35 year age gap with Jenny kinda silly but prefer that to a pairing with blubbering Juan. Already I am having difficulty seeing him more often at the house, at the hospital last night and while I usually won't quit watching these things, for me personally, he is so repulsive I may. I literally turn my head away when he is on screen and if he goes on too long, will mute the TV or go to the toilet. I also realize there must be a huge following for the actor for him to have this prominent a role in this story so the loss of one means nothing.

Kirby Johnson, I agree about Fernando. After everything Enrique has done to his daughter, if he can't see through all the fake familiarity that he's displaying, then he deserves getting screwed by him. I would hope that he has done some research into Enrique's past to see that he is the son of one of his old suppliers.

In the previews, did Nico look like he recognized Enrique?

Nanette, it looked to me like he woke up and recognized Enrique. Where are all the nurses?

Meanwhile Diego has shown an entirely new personality in the last few nights. I missed the part where someone (Fernando?) said Fanny Sr had left Diego because of his infidelities. So his anger over losing her to Fern seems a bit of a stretch. Also recall that Fanny Sr met with Diego just before her death and asked him to make peace with Fernando. None of it makes sense.

Hey guys,

Siete is featured on Univision's NovelasYSeries site!

JnO. It came out in the conversation Fernando & Ana had in the jail cell that Diego cheated on Estefanía and again was mentioned in the living room when Diego confronted Fernando about what happened in the jail cell right before Nic had the attack.

Ana had countered one of Fernando's pleas with a, what about Diego?, and Fernando would be the beneficiary of two women Diego loved. Fernando said the relationship between Diego and Estefania was already over and they broke up before Fernando became involved. Estefania wanted a family, Diego did not, Diego had wanderlust and partied, Estefania did not and Diego had cheated on her too. It was confirmed by Diego to the police captain.

I say Diego's personality did change but it was when he met Ana because his whole life he drank, traveled and bounced from woman to woman and why both Nic and Fernando kept warning him not to play with Ana.

The shame is Diego may have wanted to stop running around with women but still wanted to travel and didn't want kids.

Thanks, cathyx,
I think the Johnny/Isabela scene was premised on Johnny mistaking her for someone else from the rear and moving in with what I assume was an inane or obnoxious pick-up line.
Whether he first thought she was just a random attractive woman, Jen, or someone else, I think his initial reaction after she turned around was surprise.
Still, if he were to develop an obsession with the witch, being the object of his ongoing lustful attentions might not be a full anvil, but maybe a steam iron toward her Kharmageddon. (and his, too, if he got her)

I think Juan just saw a shapely female and does what he always does and makes a vulgar pass

Oh, and I do think hospital security is pretty weak irl. Might be VIdeo to check after the fact, but someonew either striding along purposefully, or skulking along sullenly with, say, a mop or a bin of laundry (assuming right color scrubs or ubiquitous quasi lab coat smock), would be unlikely to be challenged.

Johnny does seem to be a sort of self-parody of Adrian Uribe's persona.

http://www.tvnotas.com.mx/2014/07/20/C-64112-adrian-uribe-y-su-largo-historial-amoroso.php

From the tvnotas, AU has been romantically linked with quite a number of "starlets." Including, briefly, Angelique Boyer and Marjorie de Sousa, though other relationships are claimed to have lasted longer.
It all smacks of very Johhny-like, tomcat-like behavior and/or shameless self-promotion.

I know we don't generally go for gossip, but here I think the character makes much more sense against a general background of this actor's well-established reputation. Please delete if I crossed the line.

Thanks cathyx! Great recap! Crazy day yesterday and finally catching up on the recap and everyone's reaction.

I felt like this episode was one big beanie moment with convenient plot twists and characters changes so we can start moving to part 2 of the storyline. Any chance this was a finale for the first season?

First we have a loving, smiling mother all excited daughter Ximena is joining her on her adventure to the land of the rehabs? Already then. Guess we're supposed to take this as a wake-up call, but I take it more as a way to get the Ximena character gone because, let's face it, it was a big zero in chemistry with her and Nando. Actually, fine by me.

Love those hospital waiting rooms too where everyone shows up and all the plot lines are talked about and moved forward there. Like they are the only family who has someone there...yeah, right.

And we knew this would happen, but I'm seeing a real job being done on the Diego character. I wonder if some of this was because he became so popular with TVland and the writers needed to make him look less desirable so we buy back into Fer as end game. There's flawed and then there's whiney, over the top and retro'ing antics in the character's past. Hate it.

And our PSA of the week is all about Catfishing. Have to say, these writers must either be really young or very up on current trends. Problem is with Alicia's age, this could get ugly if and when she tries to hook up with anyone she connects with.

No on the Nico front...I don't want murder and mayhem. But I also worry we are getting telegraphing of a Jen/Johny pairing down the road anyway. Please, dear lord, why suddenly has this loser become the big hero? I know we've asked, but is he really that big of a deal in Mexico as a comedian/actor? Every time he hits into a plot, I'm reminded of the old Carol Burnett routine of "As the Stomach Churns".

Daisynjay

Oops--my son reading over my shoulder and said "Wasn't it As the Stomach Turns?" Yes,it was. I stand corrected....same result :)

Daisynjay

Daisynjay

You made great points I totally agree with. And I've been trying to find out what is up with AU.

I don't believe all the romance rumors for a minute. I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but really this guy just looks like a cartoon of something not quite human.

Put a paperbag over his head and just look at his body; that is easier on the eyes.

It's AU's personality, drop Daniel Craig's personality in and the dude not near as revolting

Tofie: thanks for the explain on Diego's past history with Fanny Sr.

Glad Xime's mom did an about-face; apparently she is some kind of big star in Europe.
Go figure.

I think Johnny did give Isabela the eye once, in the mansion, but in the hospital lobby he approached her with his pick-up line before seeing who she was.
He has been a shallow, chauvinistic jerk throughout the show, at least he is consistent. Hope they are not going for a Jenny-Johnny duo. Ugh.

Thanks, cathyx!

"Xi pulls away suddenly and says ‘who are you and what have you done with my selfish and egocentric mother?’ Did Xi pray for her mother to change her attitude? If so, then that will explain the new improved attitude."
What's up with Xi's mama? When did she become a decent mother and caring human being?

OMG, too funny to think about an ultimate Johnny-Isabruha pairing. I would love to see her and Yolanda living 'happily ever after' with him in the hood.

I'm definitely on the Nico/Jen bandwagon and hope someone foils Enfrique's dastardly plan!

Mi Corazon esTuyo, PSA Edition
Prayer is the most powerful medicine
Ximena: Spend just a moment with your kids, it will go a long way.

Heart attacks: Never ignore any symptoms. See a doctor immediately if you feel odd or different, including chest discomforts.

Wash your hands every time that you use the bathroom

Potassium chloride: Leaves no residue, the victim looks like he’s had a heart attack.

Tooth for a tooth: read the Bible, it has a lot of wisdom

Coronary arteries: Learn about your body, how it works and how to take care of it

Cholesterol: Get informed on what it is, how it can be harmful to your body and how you can prevent it.

Communication: It is important that you communicate with your kids. Always be truthful even if they don’t understand anything of what you said.

Out of the mouth of babes: Listen to their heart, learn from their faith

Pole dancing: The new aerobics; learn it today and stay fit!

Loan sharks: Worse than the IRS, never borrow money from them

Multi use: Make the most of what you have by giving an item multiple uses, such as using money to fan yourself

Memory loss: Introduce the amnesiac to familiar surroundings to stimulate his memory

Siete: Adopt a homeless pet today!

Doroteo: Always have proof before accusing someone of something.

Advice: Seek advice before making a big decision.

Enrique: Just because someone claims to be your friend does not make it so.

Online dating site: Do you know what your under aged children are up to! These sites can be very dangerous. Bad people there cam make very bad things happen.

Head banging: Hitting an amnesiac on the head will not necessarily cure him.

Cartoons: What is seen in cartoon does not always reflect the real world. Make sure your kids know this difference.

Disorders: Let the professionals handle it.

Prayer: A family that prays together stays together.

Visiting patients: Always wear protective clothing when visiting patients at he hospital to protect them and yourself from germs, or at the very least to hide your true identity.

Amnesia: Depending on the circumstances and type of show, amnesia may be temporary.

Johnny: How not to pick up women

Father/son: Learn to appreciate your father and the moments that you have together. You’ll regret it if you don’t.

Pregnancy: Always get ample rest when pregnant.

The pics: When trying to forget some one that has broken your heart, it always helps to destroy all physical evidence of their existence, starting with photographs.

Mother/daughter: It is never too late to do something to win back your daughter’s heart and forgiveness, just don’t mess up!

What exactly did Johnny say? I thought he asked her to have a coffee with him.

Excellent list, Salvador! Here are some additional PSAs to add to it:

- Do NOT have unprotected sex. Regardless of your educational level, it can result in pregnancy.

- Remember to take bi-polar medication regularly, and when you do, do not consume alcohol with it.

- If you post a doctored photo and false information on a social website, chances are many others have, too.

- Do not judge a book, or a heavily tattooed goth girl, by its cover.

Johnny said "Hola guapa, can I invite you to coffee?" The exchange was very brief and I think Isa got in more than Johnny

I am totally for those two to get together! I wish they would do a dream skit of this merry couple :-)

Lets see Fernando...you hired a VP recommendef by your (you dont know it yet) cheating lying golddigging soon to be ex. He immediately fires on your teenage daughter, so you fire him. Immediately a doctored pic of you and Ana hits the National Enquirer causing you to resign from the company your Father built and you can't figure out where it came from? OK maybe you really can date/employ a frappin pole dancer for YEARS without a clue. Arrrgh dumbass . I've known guys like you Fer.

I now realize why they have that 'acres-big' maze in the credits. It has to be to warn us that it would be far easier to get out than to follow all the convoluted stories and side stories in this go-nowere TeleNovela. There is much more excitement in Sofia and Chava's 30 second dreams than in a week of this hand wringing. Not to mention chsracterd who I neither like nor dislike.....yawn....

Characters.....thanks smartphone spell correct

Johnny's comment seems pretty tame.

You can bet, had it not been Isabela, whom he knew, the next thing out of Juan's mouth would have been some sexual innuendo, then he would start pawing her

Tofie: don't agree. His hanging with the Lascurains--especially the kids--seems to be changing him for the better.

Thanks for the wonderfully snarky recap!

I think the writers have begun the Diego character assassination story line. Which is sad. I was hoping for a more natural end to things with Ana, not a blowing the family apart type of situation.

Diego to me has every right to be extremely angry with Fer. His brother went after the girlfriend he has shouted to the roof tops that he loves. He is feeling the deepest betrayal from someone who is suppose to love him and look out for him, his big brother. Add on to that the seeing Ana and Fer playing tongue hockey....enough said.

Thanks Cathyx for the recap. Loved it.

Some thoughts:

In catching up with eps, I just saw Enrique’s father’s deathbed scene. I don’t think it’s necessarily that Lisardo can’t do the emotional scenes (though he’s playing it a little over the top—like a few others in this TN). I think his face doesn’t look right for those kinds of scenes. He has this under bite thingy that makes his mouth look weird when he’s emoting.

I don’t think it’s a complete character assassination on Diego. I do think the cheating was stretching it a little bit, but even when in a committed relationship, there are people who don’t think it’s that bad to cheat if they aren’t engage or married. Maybe he felt that way. His brother winning Fanny Sr.’s love is more about his rivalry with Fer (of course, there is the unwritten rule of sibs/friends not pursuing an ex). As for his love for Ana, I think it’s genuine, even though they’re not right for each other. And Fer IS scamming on his brother’s girl—but part of the reason for that is that Ana has been giving signals that she doesn’t love Diego and that she still loves Fer. I see why he’s doing it, but I think it’s wrong of him.

I like Xi. I liked her with Nando when she wasn’t being a psycho nut. However, I am glad they sent her away, because I REALLY like the idea of an Edith/Nando hookup.

Nanette

Thanks, Cathyx!

Does Fer really care so little for the company he spent years building up that he's okay with leaving it, and all his loyal employees, in the evil hands of Enfrique? I wish he would say to Reeky "We are not friends! You are a creep and I fired you for being a creep! Go away!" And then he should call HR and the board members who aren't Linda Bunny and tell them why they shouldn't have that perv representing them. But that would be too easy. Why not let a guy you know is bad news have access to abuse all your former employees?

What was the point of Bruno's amnesia change if he's now right back to where he was before, including the stutter?

I hope Ximena will go get well and then hook up with Gustavo and live happily ever after offscreen. I like the idea of Nando with Edith much better. She's more functional and kind and giving, plus they have more sparks.

I also hope that Isabully will go slumming with Johnny, OFFSCREEN. He's such a sleaze. No, inviting someone for coffee isn't that bad, but hitting on a complete stranger, in a hospital, knowing absolutely nothing about her except what she looks like from the rear (because he said it before he saw her face and recognized her), not even having met her first, is a sleazebag move.

That guy who winked at Alicia on the dating site looked like a dweeb. A studio portrait in a suit and tie? Is this what the teens go for these days? Didn't his profile say something about sociology studies? What if he's really that dork who keeps pestering Fanny at school?

I hope Henchies R Us has been skimping on the goods and their Potassium Death Juice solution is nothing but saline.

“I want to know Enrique's criminal history,” said Athena. “What else has he done before the altered photo?”

“I'll bet he's killed someone before this,” said Apollo. “Or how would he have found someone with the right connexions to get potassium chloride?”

“We need to send Hermes to find out more about this.”

“Someone send for me?” Hermes said as he landed.

“Yes, brother,” said Athena. “We need you to get some intelligence on this perverted creep. He's a lot more dangerous than anyone knows. We need to find out what else he's done.”

“How is that going to help?”

“The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior.” Apollo raised his brow. “I have to know whether he's killed before.”

Always helpful to get the voice of reason from "on high", UA. Wish they would put out a calendar with daily words of TN wisdom from Mt Olympus!

Anon 4:05: Great idea.

I am crushed that Ana cheated on Diego. She should have rejected Fernando the first second he put the moves on her with that unjust kiss. I guess it is alright for a woman to cheat, but if a man does it he is a pig? I am getting a little tired of the double standards. Diego is wise to not want to bring children into this world. This world is filled with neglected children. Most of them are tossed in daycare centers anyways. Diego is man enough to put his selfishness aside and think about the children he does not want to bring into this world.
