Mi Corazon Es Tuyo #87, Discussion Page

Marta isn't able to recap because she's on a trip or something, so I am putting this up so we can talk about the episode, and if anyone wants to add recap information in the comments, I'm sure it would be appreciated.

“I see we're not the only ones who suspect she's a black widow,” said Hera. “Did you see the look on Enrique's face? And two husbands weren't enough for her.”

“Enrique is a bit smarter than we thought,” said Zeus. “He left no fingerprints on the syringe or footprints on the floor of the hospital the other night. He's not going to be easy to stop.”

“I'm more worried about the collateral damage along the way,” said Athena. “Do you think León can get some evidence on him?”

“As long as he remembers to keep a cool head,” said Apollo. “That will be his biggest challenge. Because Enrique could have been Linda's accomplice. And whether he was or not we know he has no conscience.”

“We need to protect León,” said Athena. “Because lions are endangered around so many hyenas.”

I don't see how Fanny could be interested in Lenin after being with Leon. Lenin seems a little immature. Of course, he's in the wings if Enrique causes a rift between Leon and Fan, which seems probable.

Linda Bunny is not too bright if she doesn't realize Enfrique is playing her the same way he plays everyone else. I did laugh when he teased her for the lusty looks at Leon...after he hit on Fanny, who is about six years younger than Leon! Also, why was she wearing a zipper in her hair? Ms. Zippy Buns should go ahead and marry Reeky and then do her black widow thing. Couldn't happen to a more deserving prey.

How many episodes until Isabrat is ACTUALLY moved out of the house?

Oh, Julia, your wishes to be true. having Eeky caught in Ms. Tight Buns snare would be priceless. And if he crosses her, she could boot him out on his sorry a** too. Rock meet hard place dude.

I'm still wondering about a Tight Buns/Edith connection.

I was only half watching last night, but I started to side-glance all those scenes with Ana and the kids. I know the kids love her, and she was caught at a bad moment getting the picture, but after awhile I wanted her to leave the room or collect herself and not pour out so much to them. These are the little ones, and frankly, they just lost their mom. I don't know if the writers were trying to say they were understand her desire for a mother better, or at that moment she was like a child herself...whatever, but I just thought it was a bit much for those kids since it was a total breakdown on her part.

I get some symbolism, but honestly in reality, who names their kid Lenin?

Why didn't Fanny throw that poem away? Kept thinking Leon would find it in her pocket.

For the same reason anyone keeps a potentially incriminating piece of paper: Plot device.

A few things from last night:

Looks like Manuela has left. I thought that Fanny might suggest Leon's mother for the job, but I guess not.

Alicia gets deeper into a mess, with a response from an internet prowler of some sort.

And we have a photo of Ana's mother. The kids and Fernando seem completely game to search now for Soledad Fuentes.

Why do I think that the abogado is going to soon tell Fernando that he is not as well off as he thinks he is.

And, even though he is grumpy and cold, as Ana described the "best boss in the world", I do love the way that he welcomes his children's friends to the house.

Love the idea of Edith and LInda having a connection. And, I agree that the little kids know way too much about what goes on in the house. The place is indeed nuts, with a crisis a minute. No one is in charge!

Anything revealing in the avances? I missed those.

Leon's mum is restarting her business, not to mention what a weird dynamic that would be.

As to a connexion between Edith and Linda, I think Edith deserves better.

Maybe they can start picking up dinner from Margarita's stand every day. I thought it was funny when Fer was about to suggest going to a restaurant, and then Ana was so insistent on pizza. I guess she REALLY wanted pizza! But these people can afford to get takeout or go out every day if they want to, so I don't see the crisis of not having a cook on staff for however long it takes to hire one. And we've seen that Fanny and maybe Nando can do a bit of cooking.

I loved how Fer kept getting hugged.

Diego, REALLY?! Natalia, REALLY?!?! He was literally STILL CRYING OVER ANOTHER WOMAN!!!

Hi Folks!! I am BAAAACKKK safe and sound... if noone can recap tonight just let me know and i can do a bulletted list of main points/events.

Every time Betty sees Ricky she swoons. All they need is Ricky to give Laura a job too, perhaps as Isabela's assistant. He also has the pick of all the young female employees and won't be long before he is cruising the cafeteria.

Oh, Fanny will fall for Lenin in an effort to be accepted, despite Edith's warning. When she does if Leon smart he will stop wasting his time, she's not ready to me a mommy.

Wish they would come on and tell me something more about Edith, loved she gave it back to Isabela.

With you guys that get weirded out with Ana sharing way too much with those small kids. Now they have their uncle whom they thought was Ana's squeeze out and Luz already put it on the table for Fernando to marry her when the divorce final.

UA,

I agree that Edith deserves the best. A good character. But I am also clueless about the endless coincidences that occur in novelas and in a city of something like 20 million people. I never see them coming.
Something more is going to develop with Edith. We know too much about her situation and have seen the seemingly fancy place where she lived.

I still think that Bruno is up to something on Nico's behalf that may explain the break-up with Manuela.

Welcome back, Marta. Hope you had a grand time.

Fanny is entirely too young to take on the responsibility of being somebody's mom. I like Fanny & Leon but I'm ok with a Fanny/Lenin pairing.

I don't think Lenin -- or anyone else -- should be rewarded for bad behavior. Especially by someone like Fanny who doesn't fit the cliche of the spoiled rich girl.

As for Luz bringing on the notion of her dad marrying Ana, that's nothing new. All the kids want that. She was already behaving like their mother in episode 5.

I agree that Fanny is too young to be a mother. However, if she marries Leon it will be after he does something to prove himself -- like help bring down Enfreaky -- and I'll bet he'll get a promotion and be ready to marry Fanny if she wants. Then everyone here who is calling for a Luz/Mauricio playdate will get it.

Welcome back Marta!! Hope you had a smashing time!

All the kids do want Ana and Fernando to be together and why it bothered me there was so much discussion about Ana and Diego without anyone knowing where it would go. I know Fernando had married but if Ana brought a new dude to the house should she have so open a conversation about a budding romance?

Had there been a new dude other than Diego I don't think Ana would have brought him to the house until it was serious. With Diego being Fernando's brother it was a bit of a sticky wicket.

The kids theoretically would have had Ana as an aunt, which would have been better than not having her in the family at all. However, she and Diego were fundamentally incompatible in what matters to both of them. She wants a stable homebody husband and kids while he wants the thrill of adventure and no kids to be responsible for.

Lenin has teased Fanny but Lenin also hasn't lied about having a son & wife "somewhere out there" either. If Fanny can forgive Leon for lying about being married & having a child while having sex with her, Fanny can forgive Lenin for his teasing.

Lenin's young and silly. He's attracted to Fanny but doesn't know how to express himself appropriately. That's why he's teasing her and that's why he bought her the book. I think he's discovering Fanny is not a cream puff & there's much more to her than he thought.

Fanny & Leon are endgame but it wouldn't hurt Fanny to meet some other guys, even if they stay "just friends."

thanks! i put a pic in my profile... my encounter with the turtles in Cayman Islands.

Hmm! Funny how Diego falls hard for two women who want a stable home life and a familly--so unlike who Diego is. Could he secretly want that?

Can't see how Fan would be seriously interested in a boy when she's been dating a man.

Fanny definitely needs a few new friends. She has Edith now, which is nice, but I think Edith and Nando are going to get together and it would be nice for Fanny to have a friend who isn't into her brother.

I hate to think what Reeky is going to do to Leon. First thought is frame him for a crime and get him thrown in jail.

It is rather odd that the two older daughters of this family both have friends who are into their nerdy brother. Particularly since Fanny's friends are older than Nando; I totally get how Brianna can be attracted to him because she's younger and he would look hot to her partly because he's older.

I suppose that in a few years Luz will have this experience because her friends will look the same way at the twins. The three of them are as cute as kittens.

I wonder if we will ever see any distinction between the twins. Shouldn't they start to develop more of their own, non-interchangeable personalities at some point? Or not choose to wear matching clothes? Or have, say, one of them playing with Luz and the other going to the kitchen for a drink? They seem to spend every second together exactly in sync and it's getting a little creepy, although they are very cute, especially together with Luz.

Fer has been so calm abt his resignation, Reeky taking over, Isa now back as VP.....I really hope he has a plan but after his lawyer didn't know abt his leaving I fear he will be in trouble.

Agree that I don't understand why all of Fanny's friends go for the younger Nando. At that age I always liked older guys.

Natalia! So disappointed in you!

I've read that there does come a point when identicals want to differentiate themselves. I'm not sure when that is but I think that Alex and Guille aren't quite there yet. They are still at the point where it's fun to use their identical-ness to fool others.

It is odd that Fernando didn't talk to Tomas about his resignation. One would think that Tomas would advise against it, particularly since Diego is qualified to prove that the photo was faked.

I am posting my notes from last night:

Jarifa's Summary
Part 1

Diego and Nico have a reconciliation at the hospital.

León takes the letter of resignation to Fernando and he signs it. León gets a loan from Fernando to pay his wife's funeral and cremation debt. He will pay Fernando back every two weeks. He gives Fernando a big hug. Fernando happy to help.

Edith tries to tell Fanny that Lenin has another agenda with her and that the gift of that particular book is what makes her suspicious. Heck, he didn't get her Das Capital by Karl Marx. Fanny just can't see it.

Alicia and friend are all excited that their internet friend wants to see them.

Isabela moans to Yolanda that Fernando has not been decent with her. Yolanda sticks up for Fernando saying that if he weren't a decent person he would have already through them out. Yolanda ends up wondering what good all of Isabela's years of Harvard
did her anyway. Isabela calls her a naca and corriente ; she calls Isabela bruta and pecadora.(low class-common; stupid--a sinner).

Enrique and Linda are all friendly at the office. She wants him to marry her.

Johnny helps a crying Manuela leave with he bags. She ends up talking with Bruno who does not understand why she does not just stay and work. She can't do that based on what transpired between them. He does not get it. She apologizes for the sartenazo.

Ana and Fernando talked about the doctored photo. He is angry and knows who was behind it but is not really interested in pursuing it further and wasting his energy when he could be putting that same energy in what is really important: his family.

Enrique not too sure he wants to marry Linda because she has been widowed twice and he thinks his life might be in danger. ha! ha! He tells her Isabela will be the vice president again.

Fernando is still bothered by his father and that fake doctor. He has not forgotten about it.

Bruno blames himself for the Manuela resignation: a mayordomo should have never dated a cook--his subordinate. That was not proper.

Food for dinner: Ana suggests pizza and salad. Fernando is not happy because he is gaining weight but gives in.

Yolanda tells Isabela not to cause problems because if she behaves she is sure Fernando will give her what she wants. If she doesn't, Yolanda cannot even imagine how they will be dragged out to the street by state workers.

Enrique tells Isabela she is the vice president again.

Jarifa's summary Part 2

Lenin the smart *ss asks Fanny if she like poetry and gives her a slip of paper with a poem on it. (the kids acted more like junior high kids than college students--just my opinion.)

León brings Fernando's signed resignation letter to Enrique. Linda gives León the lookover and has to be reminded by Enrique that he is just a kid and the novio of Fanny who just happens to be the daughter of the man he hates: Fernando.

Fanny finds out Manuela has left.

At the pizza dinner, Fernando announces that Isabela is moving out tomorrow. A cheer goes up among the kids and Isabela hears it all in the other room and turns a bright magenta she is so filled with rage.

Nando talks to Ximena's mother who is going with Ximena to the facility and will stay with her until she is settled before returning to Europe. She wants her daughter to have a normal life. Nando says he is happy she is going for help but he is sure going to miss her. Ximena overhears conversation and is softly crying but is happy that Nando will miss her.

More news at dinner delivered by Fernando and Ana: 1. Abuelo Nico is doing better. 2. For the kids's ears: Manuela left for "Jarochalandia" (Veracruz) to see her mother. 3. Dad has resigned so he will be around the family more. No need to worry about money.

Diego calls Natalia and apologizes for the way he acted. He will make her a curry dinner if she comes by at 9:00

Dinner announcements continue: 4. The divorce is pending and Isabela is on her way out. Her baby will be taken care of and will be a part of the family. Luz asks if Fernando is going to divorce Isabela can he now marry Ana? The kids heads look back and forth and forth and back in unison as they watch Ana's and Fernando's expressions.

León tries to deal with his mom's opposition to his working for Enrique by explaining to her about the funeral debt. (my comment: the plight of he poor.)

Fanny keeps Lenin's poem and sticks it in her back pocket when León comes by to sweet talk her and give her another drawing as part of his "Reconquista" plan. Edith leaves when León arrives.

Edith runs into Isabela in the hall who acts all scared by Edith who asks: aren't you glad you are leaving tomorrow? Isabela calls her insolent and a monster. Edith says she is fine with being called insolent but the real monster is Isabela. Isabela talks to the camera saying they will find out how bad the monster can really be.

Ana tries to explain the situation with Diego and Fernando and her to the kids when Diego sends her a photo of her mother on her cell phone.

Diego tells Natalia Ana's whole story and how he got the photo through his investigations. He wanted her to have the photo of her mom and he sees that as the m end of his investigating on her behalf. It is better that he does not see her again.

Ana crying discusses her mom and the photo with the kids. They say her eyes and mouth are like her mom's

Diego and Natalia get romantic.

Isabela tries the tears trick again on Fernando as she is packing. He is not moved. She tells him that Enrique has asked her to be the vice president and then asks Fernando's opinion. You can see that Fernando is starting to smell a rat as he says that since they get along so well they will make a good team. Isabela then tells the camera that they are such a good team she is pregnant with Enrique's baby.

León and Fanny are still playing kissy face.

The kids suggest that Ana look for Soledad Fuentes her mom on the internet. Fernando comes in and sees the photo. He is happy for Ana. There is a big group hug minus Fernando but he looks happy.

Jarifa thanks so much for the big summary! Much appreciated!

What do those two young ladies in gray uniforms do in the kitchen? I've seen them working in there often. They can't cook up a short order meal once in awhile?
