♥ Mi Corazón es Tuyo ♥ Lunes 11/10/14 # ♥ 81 ♥

Capitulo 81:  House of Cards

La Costeña: Fernando accused Linda of using the altered photo as a pretext for forcing him out of the company. She tried to get on the moral high horse of “You are a blot on the company escutcheon” and turned to the two other men present at the meeting to ask for a reason why Fernando shouldn't be ridden out on a rail. However, he stood up and told her not to bother; he was resigning.

She grinned in triumph, like Joan Crawford in Mommy Dearest, while the two other men watched in some confusion. He explained he had been there over twenty years and had managed the company honestly. Nonetheless, he was resigning.
He then told Linda – sotto voce – that he knew she had something to do with manipulating the photo and had sent it to the media and he would get to the bottom of it. She brushed this off as though it meant nothing and gloated at him. He said to the group that despite his love for the company he wasn't going to waste his time and it was better that he left. He picked up his notebook and exited the conference room. Linda gloated and the other two men looked confused. None said a word.

Lascuráin Mansion: In Ana's room, Diego surfed the internet to look for the source photo used for the trick one.

Ana & Jennifer's House: Edna broke up with Johnny because she couldn't compete with his being in love with another woman, even a married one. He didn't take it too badly, wishing her well instead. She hugged him in gratitude, but he had a sad expression on his face that she didn't see.

Lascuráin Mansion: As Diego surfed Ana looked over his shoulder. She recognized the pose as being from the photo from their picnic on the day of the mountain climb. He looked for it and pulled it up on the laptop screen for comparison. He also figured out that the person who did this wanted to humiliate Fernando. They immediately finger Isabitch because of the divorce, because she could countersue on a charge of adultery.

La Costeña: Fernando summoned Beatriz into his office to dictate his letter of resignation. She was shocked, but he didn't want to talk about it. He just told her to prepare it immediately for his signature.

Enrique is some piece of work,” said Aphrodite. “Obviously he's just using her.”

It doesn't look as though he has completely brought her over to the Dark Side,” said Hera. “She doesn't seem to know his actual master plan.”

Of course not,” said Athena. “He secretly thinks that all women are dumb sheep. Even Linda.”

Linda was still in the conference room when she called Enrique on her cell. He was in his living room cranking up the stereo as “Largo al factotum” was about to begin. With a shyte-eating grin she told him that Fernando had resigned; Enrique was pleased.

Interesting choice of music,” said Aphrodite. “If he fancies himself as Figaro he's grossly mistaken.”

Figaro is an opportunist, but he's not a killer.”

Public University: In the lecture room Natalia spoke about discrimination and motives for suicide and war prior to the slideshow of photos.
Bullyboy Lenin passed a note to Fanny which said she might want to close her eyes or she would faint. Natalia talked about the social purpose of photography as she displayed photos of warfare and terrorist attacks.
Fanny's note back to Lenin said that the only reason she would close her eyes would be to not see him. Natalia finally announced that in the next class they were to present what photography signified to themselves, then dismissed the class. Three boys climbed over the seats in front of them to talk to her, but she wanted to talk to Fanny. Fanny asked Edith to wait for her.

Lascuráin Mansion / La Costeña: Beatriz asked Fernando why he doesn't calmly reconsider his resignation. He told her he was tired of Linda's hounding him and that despite his love for the company he no longer wished to deal with conspiracies against him. He looked over the letter. Just as he was about to sign his cell phone rang and he saw that it was Ana calling.
She told him that they had discovered the source photo that had been manipulated. He wasn't happy when she mentioned Diego's name. She knew from the tone of this voice that something was wrong. He told her he was about to leave the company.

Does he actually think Diego had anything to do with that?” asked Hermes.

I hope not,” said Apollo. “They may have been rivals over Estefania, but Diego isn't the sort of man to do this. He does have a conscience... and seven sobrinos who would suffer.”

Good point. Fernando has enough children to compensate for the ones Diego won't have.”

What do you mean by that?”

Didn't he say he didn't see children in his future?”

Public University: While Edith sneered at the sight of them talking, Fanny found out that Natalia was the chick whom Diego traveled with around the world. Natalia told her to call her by her first name and that she was thirty years old. Fanny suspected that there was more to all this.

Lascuráin Mansion: Ana thanked Diego for sending the photos to her cell as she prepared to go to Fernando's office. She told him that they couldn't just abandon him to fate. Diego told her not to worry, that he loved her above all things.
Bruno came inside with Siete, whom Ana introduced to Diego. She asked Bruno to give her a hand with the kids while she went to Fernando's office. He agreed and asked if they could talk later. She told him they would and left. Bruno then told Diego he could count on him, but Diego pointed out that Bruno owed his primary loyalty to Fernando.

Diego's cell phone rang and he saw it was Natalia. She told him she was with Fanny and asked if he would meet her for coffee. He looked all too happy to say yes.

Would you say she is the right woman for Diego?” asked Athena.

I think so,” said Aphrodite. “Except he hasn't figured that out yet.”

Jennifer and Nick's Place: She thought they were going to fight about money again, but Nick told her he wanted to pay Ana's debt to Doroteo that she incurred when Jennifer became ill. There was a checkbook on the table and he encouraged her to write out a check for that money.
She hugged him, saying she loved him and she never thought there were men like him in the world.

Private University: Nando arrived to meet Ximena only to be approached by Laura la Loca. Nando almost panicked, telling her that Ximena would be out of class shortly. She said she was apologizing because all was well, her dad came through with the dinero for her tuition, and she wanted to say she missed him.
Before he could effectively stop her she kissed him and right on cue Ximena came out and pulled her back.

La Costeña: Fernando stared at his computer screen for a moment and touched the image of the company logo. Ana knocked before entering and he told her to take a seat. He then told her he had resigned. The letter was still in front of him in its leather jacket. He turned it around and handed it to her so she could read it.

Private University: Ximena shouted “How many times have I told you to stay away from my boyfriend?” and a crowd began gathering. Laura tried making excuses, but Ximena wasn't having it.

She slapped her hard. Nando rushed forward to pull her back and the two guys who had been hanging with Gustavo came forward to hold Laura back so this couldn't get any worse. They shouted at each other, Laura taunting Ximena to escalate her anger.
While Gustavo held Ximena back and Laura went on about Ximena belonging in a manicomio, Nando told Laura to shut her mouth and get lost. Both girls kept using their favorite “m” words as Laura walked away and Ximena struggled against Gustavo. Both Gustavo and Nando looked shocked as she walked away from them continuing to threaten Laura.

Laura is an idiot,” said Aphrodite. “She gets involved with a perv to get her tuition paid off and now she thinks she can cleanse herself with a pure young man like Nando?”

That's usually a male fault,” said Athena. “However, what concerns me here is this ugly interaction with her former friend and the fact that she talks too much about it with Enfrique.”

Because of his revenge plan against Fernando?”

Yes, because it won't stop there. He may demand something of her that would cause harm to Nando. He may also kill Laura and frame Ximena for it.”

Lascuráin Mansion: Manuela was making a hearty soup when Bruno entered the kitchen to talk. Johnny walked in on this with his toolbox, rambling on about nothing important when he noticed the adorable Siete. He crouched down to offer the petite canine a bite of banana, but Manuela told him not to; this wasn't good for dogs. He got up and went on about how handsome he was in his uniform (Surely he jests) and Bruno motioned for him to depart. He got the message, picked a mango off the big plate, and walked out. After he walked out Manuela told Bruno that Johnny was right, that he was rather distant.
Bruno then finally told Manuela that they really weren't right for each other. She was surprised.

La Costeña: Fernando went through the list of his problems to Ana, finishing with telling her that he would exit the company he and his father founded with his dignity intact. She told him that she would help him if that was what he truly wanted, but that if that were not the case he should fight for what he loved.
Ana took out the cell phone with the original photo of herself and Diego, but he didn't want to look at it. She apologized.

Fernando, please get over this now,” said Apollo. “You need your brother's help to clear your name.”

Son, I don't think he will listen to us,” said Zeus. “We can only hope he will listen to his own father.”

Public University: Natalia exited the lecture hall with Fanny, who said she would convey her greetings to Diego. Fanny asked Edith if she'd like to go out to eat and she said yes, but wanted to show her something first.

Ximena's House: Nando was clearly freaked out by what had just happened. He said loved her but it's all very difficult. She told him she loved him, too, and that he was the only ray of hope in her life. She thanked him.

I don't like this at all,” said Aphrodite. “This sounded too much like a farewell.”

I agree,” said Athena. “This girl needs to be in a hospital. She's living alone among servants and Nando doesn't know enough about this to help her. She needs supervision. And her mother needs severe punishment for being the selfish bitch that she is.”

La Costeña: Ana said that if they demonstrate that the published photo was falsified he could stay in the corner office of his company. Fernando told her he wasn't sure he wanted to under these circumstances. He told her about Linda kissing him only a couple of months after Estefania Sr died and that he rejected her advances. Ana still wanted him to fight for what he wanted and for what was fair. He wants to, but he needs to clear his name by finding out who manipulated the photo. She asked whether his image had been tarnished by the published photo.
He quickly kneeled in front of her and said that in other circumstances he'd be proud to be seen kissing her. They stared at each other.

Aphrodite, I have a really bad feeling about Linda,” said Athena.

You and the rest of us,” said Hera.

No, I mean something critical; hear me out.”

Go ahead, Athena. What is it?” said Aphrodite.

Remember how Fernando's first wife was lying on the bedroom floor when Luz found her dead?”

Yes.”

The family photo was a few feet away, nowhere near the place where it was usually displayed. The glass on it was broken.”

I remember that. I felt so bad for the child.” said Hera.

Did it never occur to you that the photo frame might be a murder weapon?”

You think Linda did it?” asked Aphrodite.

Yes. She might have known the household routine well enough to sneak in when Bruno was out. She could have whacked Estefania, gotten out, and returned to the office during lunch or when others were in meetings and wouldn't have missed her. And she only waited a couple of months to make her pass at Fernando.”

Okay, but how can it be proven?” asked Aphrodite. “I think they cremated the body.”

Someone has to get her to admit it. Unfortunately that someone is most likely to be Enrique.”

Lascuráin Mansion: Manuela asked Bruno when this revelation came to him. He told her he couldn't pinpoint the exact moment but he has realized that she wasn't the right woman for him. She cried as he said he needed a different kind of woman. She asked him what kind and he said he would rather not say. She was persistent, however, and he told her he needed a woman who was more calm and more modest. The kids came home from school and were calling for Ana as they came in the front door. Manuela took this as criticism and brained him with the frying pan.
Immediately after, Sebastian opened the doors and entered, followed by Alicia, Luz, and the twins. Bruno did a theatrical fall worthy of John Cleese and landed on the floor at Manuela's feet. The kids became upset and ran toward him, Luz asking if he was dead. Manuela stared down, unable to speak.

La Costeña: Manuela had recovered quickly enough to call Fernando at the office to tell him what happened. He ended the call and told Ana, who said they should call for an ambulance. He picked up the phone and asked Beatriz to come in.
He then went to the sideboard and poured himself a stiff drink, shocking the daylights out of Ana. He took two large sips, saying that nothing justified what Manuela did.

Lascuráin Mansion: Johnny came in at the noise and saw the kids panicking. Manuela admitted what she had done and said it was because Bruno was an ingrate. Johnny checked and found a heartbeat.

He then remembered the night that he had sneaked into the house and saw Bruno being shocked by electricity. Finally he directed the boys and Manuela to help him take Bruno out into the living room.

Ximena's House: Gustavo told Nando that he would be joining his parents in Los Angeles the following week. They wished each other well, Gustavo apologized for his earlier bad behavior. Ximena called for Nando from the other room.

Lascuráin Mansion: Bruno regained consciousness as Luz called Ana's cell phone. Ana and Fernando were in his car on the way back. Ana asked what was going on with all the noise and Luz told her that Bruno opened his eyes. Ana relayed that to Fernando and asked if he could drive a bit faster. She then told Luz they wanted to speak to Bruno.
She handed her cell phone to Fernando. Luz whistled so everyone would be quiet and handed the phone over to Bruno. Manuela held it to his ear, but it was evident that Bruno was not himself. He didn't recognize Fernando's voice or his name.
Fernando went into his usual “What is going on here” mode and Ana tried to alert him to the changing traffic light.

Bruno, how can you say you don't know me?” asked Fernando, as his kids began to panic and shout. Ana tried to get him to see the red light but he didn't hear her and drove right past it.

Cue the traffic police, who passed a bus to end up right behind them, sirens blaring. Fernando didn't even seem to hear it. Ana knew they were done for as she let her hands fall into her lap.

This is very bad,” said Hermes. “If they get arrested and it makes the news...”

I'm way ahead of you, son,” said Zeus. “They are going to need our help.”

Another Part of Town: Fanny pulled up in front of the building Edith had directed her to. They had been talking about the rude male classmates. Finally Fanny asked where they were and they got out of the car. Fanny looked at the building, which had a quasi-classic facade. “This is where I lived for 15 years,” Edith said. “Really?”

Street: A cop stood at the driver's side while Fernando was still talking on Ana's phone. Manuela wasn't making sense, the kids quickly realized that Bruno had amnesia, and Ana was trying to get Fernando's attention toward the cop on his side of the car.
Siete began yapping, Manuela wailed that Bruno didn't love her, and Fernando yelled back to silence the dog. Finally the cop knocked on the side window and Fernando opened it. The cop politely told him to end the call. Ana tried to take over this, but Fernando started telling the cop what happened. The cop listed his offenses: speeding, running a red light, talking while driving, and not wearing a seatbelt. Ana tried to intervene, Fernando shouted, the cop said he didn't have to shout, and then he smelled the booze. He called him on it and said he had to get out of the car.

Fernando closed the window and got out. A crowd was beginning to gather. Which wasn't a good thing when Ana decided to defend Fernando to the police, who then arrested both of them with disturbing the peace as an added charge. Fernando tried to say they could arrest him but not Ana, but she insisted on going with him. They were both cuffed and led to the police vehicle.

Ana and Fernando began arguing in the back of the car while the two cops told them to be quiet. At least a couple of dozen people saw this and stayed until the car pulled out.

Diego's Apartment: Diego poured coffee for Natalia and himself and she asked him why he was staying in Mexico. He explained he fell in love and was staying for the lady. Ana, the nanny to his brother's children. “Wow, you really must be in love,” she said. “Like a madman,” he said. She looked disappointed.

Police Car: The cop behind the wheel asked Ana and Fernando whether they were married. In unison they said “No” and turned away from each other. The cop then realized who they were. “Ah, you're the Executive and the Nanny,” he said. “Very bad behaviour,” he tsked. Fernando said, “Please, a little respect,” and Ana pointedly turned to look out the other window.

I don't think he needs to worry too much about that,” said Hermes. “Isn't that kind of adultery rather routine among mortals?”

The police will wink at it between men,” said Apollo. “But the news media will not be so forgiving.”

Diego's Apartment: Natalia had a bad experience with someone named Julio and Diego asked why she hadn't told him. [details, please, if anyone made them out]

Police Station: The desk plainclothes cop was reviewing paperwork when Ana and Fernando were brought in. After the charges were listed (including resisting arrest) the desk man told the uniformed cops to put them in separate cells.
Ana took out her cell to call Nick, but he didn't answer. She then decided to try Diego. She just about got the words out while Fernando tried talking to the desk sergeant.

For your amusement, Mr John Cleese:

Urban, I hope this helps:***Diego's apartment: Natalia tells Diego that after the explosion she decided to settle down. He wants to know what happened. She said that back in julio(July) she had been in Gaza taking photos and a mortar round exploded near her. Diego asks if that was after Iguazú and she says it was. He then asks why she didn't tell him because they were friends and he could have supported her. She says she had no expectations for him but he could support her now.

Urban, your recap was great and the insightful comments from Mt. Olympus very entertaining! Thanks!

I absolutely loved the whole Ana/Fernando arguing in the car and getting arrested. My favorite scene was when they were in the back of the police car giving each other dirty looks as the policeman having recognized them as "the businessman and the nanny" calls them very bad behaved "muchachos."

So much great humor in this episode even with old Bruno knocked out by Manuela and her handy sartén.

Jarifa

Yes Urban, wildly funny commentary on a zany episode! Also kudos to our commenters "up there" on Mt Olympus, they are so wise!

The Bickersons (DF and Ana) were pretty funny. Poor Fernando has really had it, maybe he needs to get away for awhile...

Also, notice that Bruno lost his stutter when Manuela whacked him with the frying pan. Hmmm...

I wish the writers would engage a medical consultant before throwing in random violent behavior and explaining it away as XYZ mental disorder. It's very misleading. However, I am officially "done" with Ximena, let's get her on a bus out of town with Johnny, no disrespect intended.

J in Oregon

As a person with Bipolar I disorder I very much resent the way the writers are portraying Ximena. Her character is so far from left field for a Bipolar character.

UA, thank you immensely for a great recap.

Wow Urban, thanks for a great recap. I enjoyed the dialogue among the Gods.

Your hypothesis about Fanny Sr being murdered is a great plot line. Hope the writers go there.

I think Manuela should have hit Johnny upside the head not Bruno--then we would be rid of this slimeball character.

Thank you, Urban and Olympians, for another fantastic recap!

I hope the gods were wrong about Estefania's death. Finding out their mother was murdered would terribly disturb the kids.

Anon and J in Oregon - ITA about the misrepresentation of Xi's disorder. The producers and tn writers display incredible insensitivity toward those who suffer from it by portraying her as they do.

I love the Diego and Natalia plot! I far prefer their scenes to those with Fernanduh and screaming Ana. Frankly, other than a smokin-hot bod, I don't understand what Diego sees in Ana. She's poorly educated and ignorant (without any plans to alter these states) and uninteresting. She's in her 30s, and she hasn't accomplished more in her life than dancing around a pole, dating Johnny, creating superstitious rituals, and screaming? I find that paltry list pathetic por una protagonista. She doesn't have to have an advanced degree, but if Mexico has these public universities, shouldn't she have some sort of training in an employable skill?

What is the building Edith showed Fanny? Is it a large, single-family home? Or is it a shelter of some sort?

Have a great day on the patio, All!

Gracias, Jarifa. I was way off base in what I thought and I'm glad I didn't write it out.

EB, I was also wondering about that building because it looked so odd. I hope we find out about it soon.

Ximena is on a collision course and whatever happens is not going to be pretty.

As to my theory about Estefania's death, we all speculated that something wasn't right about what Luz found. Also, did she see something we weren't told about?

remember Luz went into such a traumatic state being the one that found her mom on the floor that she went mute for a year until Ana helped her out of it. So very likely Luz saw whatever happened to her mom prior to her death... and it might not have been either natural or an accident like her bumping her head on a nightstand or stte. So UA, you might be on to something here...

btw, great recap and comments from Mt Olympus...lets hope the gods get into action sooner rather than later for the sake of Ana/Fer, Ximena, Fanny, Nando et al.

Great recap and thanks for the Monty Python clip.

A request for Gustavo: When you go to L.A., please take Johnny, Ximena, and Laura with you. It will greatly improve the show.

i still need recap relay for next week tues and wednesday. I am leaving the house this thursday afternoon to go down to Miami for a Disney Cruise... so we will be back next wednesday but i have a commitment that night. so i will need recap help next tuesday adn wed night... I will try to recap at least a bullet list for tonight and tomorrow night, in the middle of the crazy packing and getting last minute stuff lined up.

Urban, your recaps are such a joy.

I've always thought something wasn't right about Fanny Sr.'s death. She may have been sick, but, though I hate to admit it, there was something wrong about the body, the blood and the broken picture. Someone may have sped up the process, or perhaps caused whatever the "illness" was to begin with. Wonder if Fanny Sr. and Linda had a connection?

But I agree-- I did not want this TN to go the way of murder and mayhem like PEAM. All the villians are bad enough so we don't need that level of evil.

Now that said, I find that whole interaction between Gustavo and Nando interesting. On the surface, it was Meh and who cares except the guy is now being nice. BUT, what if the fact he's out of town plays into a future plot point. Someone claims to have been with him ( Laura?) not knowing he wasn't around? Lord, something about TN's makes you suspect every move and comment people make.

I'll admit it, Diego and nat look good together and they do seem to have a lot in common. If, well WHEN, they break up Ana and Diego, I can get behind him and Nat photo-snapping into the sunset. At least it would be someone who "gets" him. The man needs some reciprocation in his relationships.

Why is Johnny becoming the savior who can fix and know everything. And I'm guessing we see him and Manuela now hooking up? All signs point to it. And she was SOOOOO wrong to hit him on the head with that pan. Lord, that goes beyond funny. It was plain uncalled for. So now we get a non-stuttering Bruno hopefully with a whole new personality? (Can we have our suave Rene for awhile?).

Not sure I'm up for watching Ana and Fer bickering in a jail cell. I'm starting to get bored with their back and forth. Poor kids though, if this all goes public, they have to deal with the ridicule?

Daisynjay

DaisynJay, i get teh same feeling with the Ana and Fer bickering about the small stuff ... don't sweat the small stuff, people!
it was interesting that he called Ana and actually begged/pleaded for her to come meet him at the office after he left that hellish extraordinary (unplanned) board meeting. he certainly thinks of her as his 'pano de lagrimas' first thing.

but i agree, they are not quite ready to be a couple... she needs to come clean with the Chicago job secret, and stop yelling, for crying out loud... no pun intended.
He needs to stop living on the edge, he seems to be jumping every time he is confronted with a situation or a 'secret' that was kept from him... life is life. and you need to stop yourself in your tracks before you react the way he does. if he wants her in his life, he better start considering her and not classifying her at his convenience in the moment... (the woman he loves... the employee, the kids nanny, his confidant... back to the employee... back to the woman he loves...). he needs to climb off the roller coaster and if he really wants her he needs to go for it but put himself into it 100%, not just when it sounds like a good idea or he gets his hormone spikes.

Love it UA.

Broken record, I know, but Juan turns my stomach and ruins every scene he is in. I turn away.

EB, I also think Natalia the better choice for Diego and totally agree on Ana. What in the world could Diego ever talk with Ana about?

Natalia - smart, fearless, artistic, beautiful, independent, well traveled, one of the boys

Ricky - pimp

Diego - "Open your eyes,
Look up to the skies and see"

Bruno - it's not you, it's me, works better

Lenny - do you like me? circle y or n

Nic - two birds one check

Linda - NOOOOOO, I'm not finished

Fernando - try driving with Ana screeching in your ear

tofie,
Fernando - try driving with Ana screeching in your ear

yeah, that is why i stopped driving when my husband was riding... the pilot in the passenger seat got angry very easily.

Wonderful recap Urban!

I'm with EB and hope that Fanny Sr. wasn't murdered. It would be way too hard on the kids.

Daisynjay: I thought the Gus/Nando convo was weird too. Though I wish Gus would take Xime with him. Something has to come of that convo later down the line.

Laura is really awful and seems intent on pushing Xime to suicide. She knows how vulnerable she is and keeps pushing her.

Ana seems to bring out the best and worst in Fer. When he said he was tired I couldn't blame him. A nanny was supposed to calm things down but Ana has turned the house upside down. Add to that work, Isa, Yomama, Nico, Bruno and Man saga...geesh guy needs a solo vacation.

I fear Diego's heart will be broken tonight (based on the previews), I hope Natalia can pick up the pieces without being used as a rebound. She seems like his perfect match.

I wonder if Doro will take Jenny's check for Ana's loan? He wants her under his thumb as much as possible and he knows her debt is what keeps her there.

Poor Manuela. I feel sorry for her. But at least Bruno was honest and didn't string her along.

Marta, I had forgotten how Fernando did call Ana straightaway and did plead for her to come to the office and she came. That is the whole novela in a nutshell

Jarifa

Ana's screeching has reached new levels of annoying. Why is SN doing this? I can't picture the director saying, "Now, every 15 seconds, screech like a fool." It was never funny to begin with!

Xi's condition doesn't jibe with that of either of the two folks I know well who carry bipolar diagnoses, but then they aren't exactly two peas in a pod.
When they are up, they are both incredibly energetic and full of plans and projects to reunify estranged relatives, ameliorate race relations, and generally save the world, now, all at once.
But other manifestations are quite different. One is on a very slow cycle with just two very serious depressive episodes and three notable phases of mania over 50 years, where she actually did achieve at least some of her plans and didn't go bankrupt or anything, the other has had over a dozen episodes over 40 years, has intermittent psychotic episodes while up, doesn't tend to self harm when down, but has made a mess of his life and finances while up.
Both are sweet nice folks between cycles.
If Xi were just already a witch with concurrent borderline or narsissistic personality disorder, or the like, is the portrayal necessarily that far off?

Ximena here is an unfortunate over the top caricature, no different than Nando's nerd look, Bruno the 50 year old virgin, or Ana suggestively dancing scantily clad at Dave & Busters. However, one is a serious, the others tomfoolery.

The Bickersons ?

HA-HA.

Now why is Fernando's psycho wife still plotting to hurt Ana or any of her close friends ?

Thanks UA, I appreciate all your efforts in doing your recaps. But I have to confess, I fast forwarded through a lot of this one.
I don't need to hear Fernando and Ana's idiotic arguments. I don't need to see or hear anything related to Jonny, Bruno, or Manuela. And add Ximena to that mix.

As for Jen paying off the loan, I don't see how legally Doroteo can not take it. If he turns it down, they should take him to court. They can't be forced into a slave like situation remaining indebted to him forever.

I had the feeling a day or so ago when Doroteo last threatened Ana that she was paying him back in cash and therefore has no proof she paid him anything at all.

She now has the additional problem of the altered photo. This creep could easily come forward to the media if he thinks his dirty deals are sufficiently hidden.

When's the last time you cared about the love life or (extra)marital activities of the president of Del Monte?

**crickets**

This is a ridiculous plot and Fernando should not be walking away from a company he and his dad founded.

Ximena sounds like she's saying Buh Bye.

Thanks, UA. I had to FF>> through all the screeching so I missed some things. I'm glad the Olympians were watching it all.

Wow, when Don Hielo finally melts down, he REALLY melts down! He's lucky he didn't hurt or kill anyone, the way he was driving. And Ana was just making it worse with all the cacaphony she added. She should have taken away his phone. I noticed that after they were cited for not wearing seat belts, they weren't wearing the seat belts in the back of the police car, either.

Needing first aid and having Johnny as the only person nearby willing to give it to you has to be one of the levels of hell. Was Bruno's injury supposed to be funny? Manuela could have done some real damage. I'm sure he'll get over his amneedaplotlinesia eventually, and maybe lose the stutter, but whacking someone over the head with a skillet is assault.

I love how Fanny and Edith have become friends. Was that building some sort of palacial home? Maybe Edith used to be the sort of naive rich princesa she now despises.

Nando could use a little gym time. Maybe then he'd be able to push away leechy women. He needs to dump Ximena tout de suite. She has a wretched personality aside from the behavior her illness causes.

Ana was wearing her seat belt when they were stopped but Fernando wasn't.

Nando does need to walk away from Ximena. She will drag him down into her abyss if he doesn't and she needs to be in a manicomio now before Laura drives her to suicide.

Dear UA,
Thank you for another tour de force recap! And thanks to those who have recapped this week. I was away doing some things for my mom and managed to read the recaps and see the episodes but never had a chance to thank our hard-working recappers.

I share the frustration of those who have had enough of several characters along with Ana's shrieking. I do like the friendship that Fanny has developed with Edith and in general how Fanny is making her way at the University. Likely that her nemesis will fall in love with her, no?

The humor is always so loud and broad in these Televisa comedies and a lot of the skit shows on Univision. Last Sunday Jorge Ramos interviewed Eugenio Derbez on his news program about several things, including the unique Mexican sense of humor and how hard it is to export. Derbez made some interesting comments about how he has had to modify his approach to producing material for cross-over to an Anglo audience. I have no idea, really, if this is relevant here. I just know that I always make it about half-way through the comedies and then can't do it any more. I am hanging in on this one because I love the scenes with the kids and several of the characters (including poor Bruno), but find myself FFing a lot.

Lenin will definitely fall in love with Fanny. He's pretty much dipping her braids in the inkwell already, a la Gilbert Blythe. But will she ever have any interest in him?

Natalia is way better for Diego than Ana. They have so much in common and she isn't in love with his brother. Of course, she hasn't met his brother yet. Plus, if she's deaf in one ear, maybe she won't be able to hear Isa muttering about how naca she is or the shrieking of all the others at family gatherings.

When Lenin was passing the note to Fanny and she responding there was a split screen with Leon ministering to his sick son. Fanny should just ignore the guy because we may be deep in another triangle before long.

Thanks UA, for the always great, detailed recap and all the other recappers last week. I finally caught up with the eps. Have to say thought the scene where they aged Luz and the twins was a hoot.

Don't remember the position of the pic when Estefania died, but couldn't she have had a blinding pain, dropped the pic, stepped on it and then staggered a little ways before falling hitting her head. Luz finding her mother dead, especially if there was blood, would be enough to traumatize her. Guess I'm not quite buying the murder scenario.

I must be the only one who doesn't mind Johnny. He's not nearly as annoying to me as he is to everybody else. Not that I like him. I just don't hate him.

As I remember that flashback, Estefania was face-down and the photo frame was north of her left shoulder. It was not close enough for her to have just dropped it.

I didn't want to think her death was by misadventure back then because this is supposed to be a comedy, but now that Linda's motive for ruining Fernando has been established I suspect her. Hissabela wouldn't have taken the chance back then (Now, however, is another matter).

Julia, ". . . dipping her braids in the inkwell." Great comment.

I remember Edith saying she had a lousy step-family and problems with them. Guesses they were wealthy? Was it a step-mother or step-father? Either case, she may have actually lived the good life for awhile but her bad experience made her sour on it.

I can't watch Diego's heart break tonight. Just can't.

Edith said her father died when she was 15, so I'm guessing that place is where she lived while her father was still alive. Then, after he died, her mother remarried and one of her new stepbrothers apparently molested her or something in that horrid vein. I don't think we know if she was still living in the same home when the abuse happened and she left. Maybe they'd moved to a new home with the stepfather? But anyway, one scenario I can imagine as a contributing factor in her attitudes is that maybe her mother and stepfather were socialites who wanted her to keep up appearances of perfect princessiness instead of actually doing something about the abusive stepbrother.

If Edith went Goth as a rebellion against her previous life and her parents' lifestyle, we could see a transformation back to a non-Goth look that wouldn't be an indictment on her being Goth. That's what I was afraid they were going to do. Give her a transformation because Goth is "too weird". I guess I'm expecting a transformation.
