Thanks for getting us started on the new week, Jean!

@NvMv: Thanks a millón for your backstory help on last week's blog. I appreciate all the input and apologise for being slow.

Los Miserables, Monday, Nov. 10, Part 1

Lily's plan succeeds! Yesenia María slips on the soapy patch on the landing and takes a header down the stairs. Lily calls for an ambulance and has her rival taken to the Misericordia. The Monterrey Diabla has indeed lost her diablito. Later, the maid Eusebia finds the soapy puddle at the top of the stairs. Lily bribes and threatens her into silence.

Olegario (el Diablo) Marrero introduces Pablo to Radamés as his new gladiator. "But that's my ex-gardener!" sputters Radamés angrily.

Gastón finds the precious flashdrive and sees the video of Lily's debut as a killer and recognizes its profit potential. He realizes that the idiot Roque must have left the drive in his computer. He strikes up a partnership with him. Roque is to make a call from an anonymous cell phone: "I know what you did..."

Memín sneaks into Gastón's house looking for Roxana's stuffed animal.

Lily and Daniel explain to Sor Amparo why she can't accept Olegario's donation -- it is blood money.

Olegario and his thugs cause a commotion in the Misericordia. Olegario is already in a foul mood after seeing Lucía and Daniel kissing in the entryway. Then he makes a scene at Yesenia María's bedside, threatening and insulting the doctor and the hospital. Spunky Lucía, naturally, puts him in his place. The madder she gets, the more she seems to turn him on. Sor Milagros takes note of Lucha's bravery and tells Sor Amparo about it.

Lucía confides in her friend Deyanira, who wisely advises her to tell Daniel that Olegario is 'courting' her. Nah. That would upset Daniel.

Amparo (who still has an ominous pain in her belly) summons the Devil, faces him down, and throws his check back in his face. His smirk morphs into a sneer. He turns openly threatening, tears up the check and storms out. Sor Amparo doubles over in pain. On his way out, el Diablo grabs Lucha and blames Daniel for poisoning the Misericordia against him.

El Diablo barks at Pablo, waiting outside, and then tells his right hand man Anselmo that he has "one problem less." He'll send the northern she-devil back to Monterrey -- with plenty of money and a new car, of course. Right now he needs to see the cop they own, Genaro...

Fernanda spews so much bitterness in the restaurant kitchen where, up to then, her daughters Elena and Chelo had been happily working, that one fears she may have spoiled all the delicious food on display. Chelo, as unattractive and dull as she is, is lucky to have landed a fish like Gastón Gordillo!

Los Miz, Monday, Part 2

Vicky finds her mother in tears. She tells her how wrong Fernanda is. She's beautiful inside and out -- and on top of it, she's a fabulous cook. Why not open her own restaurant? Financing? No problem. Vicky holds up her miserly father's precious stamp albums. Chelo smiles.

Adriana and Abel consult the handsome Dr. Mallorca for premarital exams. Adriana wants to get on the pill. To Abel's embarrassment, she confides that she and her fiancé are both virgins. During his exam, Abel remarks that the doctor will probably tell his wife about this odd couple. No, the doctor doesn't have a wife. In fact, he is gay.

El Diablo wants Genaro to kill Daniel Ponce. Both Genaro and Anselmo point out that he would be blamed for the policeman's death.

Chelo sets out to claim her kitchen equipment from the old house. She foolishly hails a cab in the street. The driver jumps out and opens the door for her. He calls her 'chula (cutie).'

Sor Amparo's pain can no longer be hidden. She staggers out of her office, doubled over, and calls to Lucha for help. Dr. Mallorca runs out of the exam room and takes charge. He orders an ultrasound and will review the results of Amparo's recent lab work.

Ominous music (the male chorus of doom so often used across the street at Univisión). Elena drives somewhere, dogged by a black sedan with a hard-faced man at the wheel. She gets out. So does he. He ostentatiously looks in the other direction as she walks past him.

Chelo's cab arrives at Gastón Gordillo's house. She asks the driver to wait while she runs in and gets a few things that belong to her. Skinny little Nuria tries to bar her entry, but Chelo pushes her aside as the cabbie watches.

Elena pulls out her cell and calls Pablo. He was right. She is being followed. He tells her to ask the (female) lawyer to get her a restraining order.

As soon as Elena enters an office building, the man following her reports to his boss. "It's a building full of lawyer's offices." He'll stay on her tail.

Dr. Mallorca reviews the ultrasound. There are biliary sludge and stones in the pancreatic duct. Sor Amparo is in danger of pancreatitis without immediate surgical intervention.

Lily is indulging in a fantasy about getting rid of Lucía when she gets Roque's startling phone call: "I know what you did on February 18 -- you shot a guy to death!"

Tune in tonight for more...

Agnes, you are very welcome! I tried to identify characters a bit more carefully this time. I hope it helps.

NvMv: so appreciated! Thanks for a great read. I am so getting into this novela.

That Eusebia has the face of a classic Mayan! I can't find the name of the actriz anywhere. She plays her role so perfectly: subservient, silent, dignified, but watchful and judgmental. Her life is probably now in danger (just like Vicki's back on Otra Piel) despite the bribe of a couple of cocktail dresses she would never, ever wear

"His smirk morphs into a sneer." Porras did that almost in slo-mo, like a cartoon character. It was brilliant.

and, I see what you mean about Fernanda. Mean! Ugly! but I'm guessing, ultimately, not unredeemable.

Los Miserables

Thanks, NovelaMaven.

I was wrong about Fernanda having a change of heart, at least for now. Seems she's transferring her insecurities onto her daughters. Afterall she admittled feeling insecure next to the competition. Either way there's nothing worst than a mother insisting that she did an excellent job raising her children but yet they are nothing without their husbands. Fortunately they all have at least one good person to lift them up after she knocks them down (except Diabla). Vicky is my favorite.

So Abel is not only latently gay but also shy and a virgin. This shoudl be interesting.

I wonder who will die first, Gaston or Roque.

Thank you AGAIN, NovelaMaven, for ANOTHER fine recap. I think Chelo is quite pretty, but she doesn't
glam it up like the others do. I hope she finds herself a great guy so she can thumb her nose at her mother and
Gaston. In the case of the latter, IF he survives.

Los Miserables, Tuesday, Part 1

Roque demands 1.5 million pesos for the USB drive. If Lily doesn't come up with the cash by tonight, he will turn the flashdrive over to the police. He'll call back to tell her where to bring the money.

Sor Amparo's surgery is tricky. She has a near-fatal reaction to the anesthesia, but the doctors are able to save her. She wakes up to see Daniel, Lucha and Sor Milagros at her bedside. All are grateful that Amparo has been given another chance.

Later, Lucía and less and less sour Sor Milagros pray together in the chapel, Lucía pressing Sor Amparo's rosary into Milagros's hand.

Daniel, thanks to Genaro's treachery, walks into an ambush in the parking ramp when he is trying to get to the hospital to be with his aunt, Sor Amparo. But his rapid reflexes, amazing marksmanship and general superhero qualities save the day. His two assailants -- known to be sicarios working for Olegario Marrero -- end up dead. And once again, Olegario is left gnashing his teeth.

Daniel unconsciously touches his shoulder and winces a little. He confesses to Lucha that he had another run-in with Olegario's thugs on his way to the hospital. She tells him to be careful -- that man never gives up and he's going to keep trying to hurt him. Daniel's jealousy sensors are activated. (We can almost hear them beeping.) Lucha talks about Olegario as if she knows him. She quickly dismisses the idea -- the man has a reputation, that's all.

Elena meets with her new lawyer. The lawyer explains that her case won't be easy, given the machista environment they live in. But they will put up a good fight. When Elena leaves the building, she finds Radamés waiting for her. He begs her to come back. He knows he has treated her badly and apologizes for his "impatience." What he calls "impatience," Elena calls "domestic violence," and she has had more than her fill. She isn't coming back. Radamés tries to restrain her. Elena escapes with the help of a nearby police officer.

Chelo collects her kitchen equipment from Gastón's house, trading insults with the whore Nuria (Elephant ass! Bony slut!) and trumping Nuria's knife with her meat cleaver.

The taxista is clearly smitten with Chelo. He offers to help her remove anything else she wants from the house. But Chelo loathes the house and everything in it -- it is all too redolent of its owner.

Nuria calls Gastón to complain about Chelo's kitchen raid. Gastón tells her not to worry -- soon they'll be rolling in dough and Nuria can buy whatever she wants.

When Chelo brings her haul back to the Durán house, her mother Fernanda is scornful of her new ambition, but her father Ignacio is proud and supportive.

Vicky walks in and announces that they have the money they need to start their restaurant -- the stamps are worth a fortune (about $575,000 in US currency)! The taxista takes Vicky aside and enlists her aid in wooing Chelo. Vicky likes the idea.

Los Miserables, Tuesday, Part 2

Adriana babbles to Abel about the guapísimo Dr. Mallorca. He seems distracted. Finally he looks up and tells her he'd like to move the wedding up -- he'd like to get married in a month! Adriana is thrilled at the idea. Abel looks like a man who has just been sentenced to the gallows.

Olegario's main man Anselmo goes to Yesenia María, still in the Misericordia, and gives her a cartel golden parachute. What is she supposed to do now? He tells her to find herself another capo. "Are you single, Anselmo?"

Gastón copies the video from the flashdrive onto his own laptop. He tells Roque this will be just the first of many payments they'll milk from Lily. She's not rich, but her boyfriend sure is.

Lily tells Olegario about the blackmail. She knows she's dealing with an amateur. They can lure him to a meeting and then deal with him. Olegario reminds her that the blackmailer has probably made copies of the video. They need to squeeze him for that information.

Roque calls Lily and arranges the exchange at 8 pm that evening on the roof of the headquarters of Echeverría Enterprises (this is the company owned by Radamés). Lily deduces that there are two blackmailers -- one who does the talking and one who tells him what to say.

Memin finds Roxana during recess at school and enlists her in a plan to recover the muñeca de peluche "with the funny battery" that Roque stole.

That evening, while Lucha is out and Deya's back is turned, Roxana sneaks out of the apartment. The kids go to Gastón's house and hide in the back seat of the car parked out in front. Then Gastón and Roque come out and drive the car to the Aida building to make the exchange. The kids follow Roque up to the roof. He is holding the stuffed toy. They see Lily arrive. Roxana recognizes her immediately: "That's Lucha's sister!"

Tune in tonight for another rooftop nail-biter!

Agnes, Anon Gringa and Spanish Student,
Thanks so much for your comments on yesterday's recap.

Agnes, I had the same thought about Eusebia's wonderful face and I particularly liked this observation of yours:

"She plays her role so perfectly: subservient, silent, dignified, but watchful and judgmental."

Spanish Student, I guess we'll find out the answer tonight -- Will it be Gastón or Roque? (The smart money is on Roque.)

Anon Gringa, Chelo IS quite pretty -- and a whole lot more attractive than her tormentors!

the Miserables

thanks so much NovelaMaven,
who needs to watch novelas when we have your wonderful recaps!

did both sicarios die, Daniel recognized the one as the killer of one of his police guards from early on.

I think Fernanda was so totally out gunned at Olegario's place that she had no one to work her evil on, that's why she went back home, of course she had to hold out until Ignacio came to get her.

and of course she swears that she broke up Elena and Pablo once and they will only be getting back together over her dead body, works for me.

hmm, maybe the flash drive will be recovered, but now the kids will have their own memories, and superman Pablo, with his hands on his hips, standing in the middle of Olegario's place sees him and his novia Lily together, no x-ray vision needed.

let's see, our two grown up street urchins, Roque and Nuria, are wanted by the police for kidnapping, right?

isn't "la Reina" a restaurant that the Duran family owns and lives, at least it seemed that way at the start, but Consuelo starting a new restaurant seems odd, what am I missing here?

Deb, I thought of the competing restaurants also. Maybe
the cuisine will be different at Chelo's. AnonGringa

Thank you for clearing up some things for me, NovelaMaven. I wanted a new man for Chelo, but I had
someone younger and mas guapo(?) in mind. That
sounds shallow, I guess. The guy does have a cute
personality and would probably be very good to her
which I know is more important. It's just that I want
her to really gall her mother and Gaston.

AnonGringa

Señora Acero

hmm, I think these characters might live longer if I didn't enjoy watching them.

Enriqueta got a much needed breast and butt screw driver surgery, was this set up by Empanada, our nice guy friend to everyone.

while Tiburon, who honorably didn't talk under torture (about something he didn't know anything about) was given a bullet to the head, but wait, he is Indios only SON, this can't be good.

Juan, our favorite bungling bad guy was beat to a pulp by Elio for killing his daughter, and sent back to jail, but at least he was high at the time, but wait, last night Elio gets his judge father-in-law to put him in jail too so he can beat on him some more, and when Juan finally offers to help recover Pepito, (which he had nothing to do with this time) Elio kills him, his face twisting into that of a madman.

while Cornelia roughs up the vet, who is twice her size, to recover Enriqueta's box of money/videos, then burning them all but does she keep one of Enriqueta and Juan, probably not.

and Sara finds a horse head in her bed, (Cabu her white horse) a la Godfather, and goes to Quintanilla, (who is that mommy, Salvador asks), to ask a favor while still not putting out so to speak, but wait Felipe being nice to Indio has used his influence (and Indio's money) to close the port used by Quintanilla, nixing a big deal he had with some americans, but wait Sara's dead ex, has a relative that runs another port, you could have the drugs delivered there, I'll check it out she says.

and Salvador's body is rejecting the new (60+ year old) kidney, he may be a goner this time.

elsewhere, Aracely takes home Plutarco to meet the family, who learn they are both ex-druggies and are thrown out (luckily before brother Ramon exposes her as a prostitute), but wait, later in a strip club Ramon updates her ex-boyfriend (she almost married) Martin (who claims she ruined his life) for some drugs, Martin later turns up at the shop, with a big evil grin.

as Elio wanders around prison covered in Juan's blood, (no I didn't just kill someone) chatting to Rufino on his cell, get me out of here.

Deb, as usual I am in awe of your ability to capture a dynamic in a handful of words:

"I think Fernanda was so totally out gunned at Olegario's place that she had no one to work her evil on, that's why she went back home, of course she had to hold out until Ignacio came to get her."

Thank you for your wonderful comment!

Anon Gringa, I have to admit I was very skeptical of the taxista guy, Ramón. He even seemed a little creepy, at least at first blush. But after last night, I kind of started liking him.

Basically, I'd like to see Chelo distance herself as far as possible from her poisonous social-climbing mother's expectations. One woman's frog is another woman's Principe Azul :)

GENERAL

Ack! I keep forgetting to label my comments. Sorry! I'll try to do better.

Los Miz

Deb, to answer your question, "Did both sicarios die?"

They were both shot down. I guess I assumed they were killed. I shouldn't do that, I know. These bad guys have a cockroach-like knack for survival.

LOS MIZ

Fabulous recap, NvMv! Thank you, thank you.

"Adriana babbles to Abel about the guapísimo Dr. Mallorca. He seems distracted." Yeah, I'll say he's distracted, poor guy. This all seems to be a PSA for "coming out". Because El guapísimo doctor is shockingly forthcoming with all and sundry. Most professionals don't divulge the details of their private life during an office visit (do they?). Anyway, said doctor seems to be the usual multi-tasking telenovela doctor who does pre-marital exams (is he a gynecologist too?) as well as surgery, all in a day's work.

Did I or did I not see Liliana overhear & recognize Roxi crouched down on the roof behind some sort of curtain? Does this mean curtains for Roxi? But they wouldn't hurt a child, would they?

I gotta say, I'm really enjoying Lucha in those old-fashioned nurse outfits. Does anyone really wear anything like that anymore (even in Mexico)? When I was a nurse (40 years ago, now) we were required to dress up like that with the stupid starched cap and the white stockings that made everyone's legs look fat. Then sometime in the 80s, everybody started wearing those schmatta scrub suits. A lot easier to deal with, but they all look as if they just rolled out of bed and forgot to take off their pajamas.

Deb, thankful for your input. I had some questions about
last night's episode which you answered. AnonGringa.

Señora Acero

thanks Gringa!
drugs, money, corruption, violence, I'm amazed at how quickly our good guys are so willing to sign on, and Indio still looks to me to be the only sane guy around, but Sara keeps blaming him for everything.

Thanks NovelaMaven for Mon.&Tue's recap!

I'm still iffy about the taximan. He seems like a nice guy, but his enthusiasm is kind of creepy. It cracked me up though when Chelo pushed puny Nuria aside to enter her house, & when she out gunned Nuria's tiny knife with a meat cleaver.

Deb, I think you're correct in that Roque and Nuria are still wanted by the police.

Yeah, I though that Fernanda would start changing for the better too but then she started speaking. I guess progress is going to be very gradual.

Also, Elena is a smart cookie, but what she needs are bodyguards. I don't think a restraining order would be a deterrent for Radames.

Seeing those kids get into the car & then on the roof had me biting my fingernails. Can't wait for tonight to see how it all unfolds!

& never got to say thanks J desede NYC for Friday's recap, always appreciated!

Los Mis

Ayy, forget to label my previous post for Los Miserables again.

jlk

LOS MIZ

You're very welcome, Agnes!

I think the episode ended with Roxanita recognizing Lily. The previews pushed into the next scene, but we don't discuss previews here because they often contain spoilers. We like to be surprised :)

Yes, Dr. Mallorca is both amazingly candid and medically multifaceted. We know that Misericordia has at least one gynecologist (the poor guy that the Diablo threatened) and now a part-time psychiatrist (Dr. Carlos), but Mallorca seems to be the go-to guy.

I must say it's nice to see a normal character who just happens to be gay.

Fortunately, I've never needed to be in a Mexican hospital, so I'm not sure what the nurses there are wearing these days. Lucía does look nice in her Cherry Ames get-up, doesn't she?

jlk, as usual, I enjoyed reading your comment. I also thought the Chelo v Nuria face-off was a hoot. And I cringed when the kids got into the car. I'm not so worried about Roxanita -- she's, if not a first tier character, then certainly an important second tier player. But as for little Memin, all bets are off.

We'll all know in a few hours...

LOS MIZ: OMG, I'm so sorry if I described a preview scene. Thanks for not taking me down. I'll try to be careful in the future. I didn't realize that scene happened after the credits rolled.

Hi everybody!

I just wanted to pop by to tip my proverbial hat, and give an immensurable thanks to ALL of the recappers who are keeping us up-to-date with everything going on with our 'Reina'. Thanks to Telemundo (boo! hiss!!!) you all really HAVE been asked to go WAY beyond the call of duty, and do WAY more than what you usually do... and you all have, and in spades! For that, again- I thank you SO much!

As I think I may have mentioned, I was following 'Reina' on GalaTV in Mexico, aka- as it came out, which is why I've tried to refrain from posting here (I don't want to let slip any spoilers!!). As such, however, my Reina world is now over, and I'm already sad... usually I just move on to the next one, but this one I felt really WAS something special- it was just FUN, ENGAGING entertainment, over-the-top at all times, but in the BEST way, and what's more- it was never cloying or insulting to our viewer-intelligence- and boy, did I appreciate all that! Now, trying to tune in with you all over at Telemundo, it's hit me just what a savage and merciless job Telemundo has done, and it's a SIN, and a total kick-in-the-teeth to its viewers and fans, not to mention everyone associated with this novela and that tried their best with it to make it come alive. But this realization and recognition just made me appreciate what you recappers are doing all the more, which is why i thought I'd come out and say 'hi' and, even more so 'THANK YOU!!!'.

Reina is a GREAT telenovela- one that never took itself too seriously, and just wanted to entertain us. Now, having watched all 140 capitulos in their entirety, I can say that it did indeed do that, and in spades, and I am so grateful and appreciative to you recappers that are trying to give back to the viewers EXACTLY what all of the artists, writers, and production and creative team gave to us, but that Telemundo tried to keep from us.

BOO! HISS!! To Telemundo, and to public opinion (apparently)... and THUMBS UP, WAY UP!!! to 'Reina' and all the gang here at 'CarayCaray'.

Wishing my continued best wishes to everyone...

Stevey :-)

WHOOPS!!! Sorry everyone! I posted my last comment in the wrong forum! :-(

Sorry once again!

Senora Acero
Thank you so much, deb!!!!

You may be on to something:
"hmm, I think these characters might live longer if I didn't enjoy watching them."

So true!!!!

I need to learn to not get attached to ANYONE.

Is it just me, or do Tiburon and Indio Amaro look to close in age to be father and son??

Señora Acero

Sara- hmm, I was thinking Indio being a native it's hard to tell his age.

I watched Tuesday's show again with english captions and learned a few things,

when Tiburon was being christened he only had 4 teeth but was biting everything in sight, so Indio gave him that nickname,

and I guess Tiburon's mother really hates Indio but he doesn't blame her for that.

and it's interesting this game of ojo por ojo (an eye for an eye) they are playing, (and as Indio adds, until they are all blind) that translates to Indio killing Sara's son, (and he gets the ok from his boss)

and Elio being in a prison where a lot of the guys he sent to jail are, has Indio setting that all up.

and Quintanilla's present to Sara was a bodyguard (Bocho) and a bullet proof car (maybe bomb proof too).

and it looks like from last night,

Cornelia did keep that one video of Enriqueta and Juan operating on one of the sisters, I'm not quite sure why she did this but no one seems to know that both Enriqueta and Juan are dead, (or maybe she isn't)

that Martin, who gets money from Aracely for not telling Plutarco about her, is best buddies with her brother Ramon, who is keeping him informed, going back to tipping him on Aracely being a prostitute.

on the ojo por ojo game, I think it was Bocho who picked up on Indio's guys watching Sara and set up the whole thing with Salvador, because Sara wasn't aware then that Tiburon was Indio's son.

Tuercos was probably happy to learn that Tiburon was Indio's son because they would be going after Salvador rather that Quitanilla's righthand man (him) but being a little cocky got him a pen through his hand.

and Pepito is not happy in L.A., has packed his bags, but Arnulfo spills that he is his father.

and everyone's friend Empanada checks in with Indio, wonders where the onion smell is coming from, returns to comfort Miriam, who's stressed that Sara's son died, takes her home and offers her a drink while he checks out her boobs,

while Sara, Elio, Carlota, Salvador, and Bocho arrive in L.A., but Salvador is not happy playing this new game with a new name, he wants to be known as an Acero.

Señora Acero
Many thanks deb! I'm trying to make an effort to not use any captions I had gotten lazy and was using Spanish captions all the time and it really had taken my comprehension back a few steps. Now I'm retraining my ears and this show is a challenge. I appreciate all the tidbits you've offered.

I am glad Salvador is alive, but I'm a little annoyed by his whining. Then again, I am the audience and I know the dangers but he doesn't.

I'm worried for Quintanilla. I really like watching him and we know what that means. Lol

Señora Acero... some little stuff

Cornelia is hanging on to the videos in case Enriqueta shows up, (what?) and has been watching Aracely's man problems, and offers some advice, what do you know Aracely says, you only like woman, (and I can't remember seeing Cornelia wearing anything different)

Cornelia convinces Aracely to come clean with Plutarco at their dinner date, that Martin also knows about.

Tuercas was telling Quintanilla to dump Sara, telling him not to get in the middle of the Sara/Indio war, when Quintanilla stuck a pen through his hand reminding him who was the boss.

Indio says he and Sara are even now that Salvador is dead, his guys say they never knew Tiburon was his son, well that was part of the deal with Tiburon coming into the business in order to protect him, but it didn't work out so well, Indio muses.

but Indio isn't sure if Salvador is really dead, he sends Empanada to make sure.

Sara thanks Bocho for his and Quitanilla's help in staging Salvador's death, but Bocho reminds her they had the help of the Doctor and 20 other of their people working as patients, nurses, attendants, etc.

Sara upon hearing that Tiburon was Indio's son, says she is sad to hear that but doesn't change her decision to do it, after all it was Indio's initial attack (at the beginning of the show) that took the life of her unborn son and left her sterile, ah, ojo por ojo.

Quitanilla says Salvador is the most expensive kid he knows, cost him $70 million, Sara swears to sell his coke and get him his money before she returns from L.A. (using Elio's contacts from his earlier sale)

(btw what spoiled the deal with the americans was that in their opinion, Quitanilla didn't keep his word, and complete the deal as originally agreed upon),

and the port was closed because of a strike.

Deb, thank you for the latest information. Every little bit
helps me to enjoy the program more. Where is everybody? Yesterday's program was heartbreaking
with all that happened to poor Aracelly. Anon Gringa

Señora Acero

has finished filming this past week,
and the ratings continue to be good, huh?
http://masquetelenovelas.blogspot.com.es/2014/11/senora-acero-finaliza-grabaciones-con.html#more

wiki still lists the total episodes at 65, last Friday being 38, which takes us to Christmas, hmm.

wiki also says this will be followed by "Dueños del paraíso", beginning January 2015.

Sra. Acero
Blanca has been learning very well at acting class. She does not get on my nerves like she did in PQEAM. Still needs to tame those facial expressions, but that is getting better also.

But after this, we get a master, Kate del Castillo, can't wait.

@Variopinta, me too. Kate is the queen of badass
Romy

Señora Acero
Thanks for that link, deb!! I really enjoy this show and will miss it when it ends, BUT I am really stoked about Dueños del paraíso.

Señora Acero... Thursday, epi 37

Plutarco plans a special night for his princess Aracely, they meet for dinner, and drink a toast to what will be an unforgettable evening,

Empenada has got a few drinks into Miram at her place when Rufino shows up with news of Juan's death, she decides he is the worst cop in the world for letting their only witness die, Empanada is liking how this is going, Miriam kicks asks Rufino to leave.

Aracely spots Martin sitting at another table and realizes her special evening is over, and heads to the bathroom to collect herself, Martin follows and wants some oral sex, she gives in.

Miriam tells Empanada about her life, the family abandoned by her father, blah, blah, and Arnulfo had her deported from the U.S. when he discovered that she was pregnant, Empanada dumps his drink, er spills it, on himself and so takes off his shirt, more drinks.

Josefina comes upon Felipe who has a wad of money, he explains life to her,
$1000 bill, nothing higher, is the President,
$500 bill is the governors, senators, etc.
$200 bill is the mayors like Berta,
$100 bill are the professional people, military, etc.
and where do I fit in Josefina asks,
you are a 50 cent piece, Felipe tells her, good for nothing.

later Josefina calls her mom, I just want a hug, let me come see you,
but her mom won't say where she is,
oh, she gets it, Josefina hangs up, she really is nothing to anyone.

Elio/Sara/Joaquin are in some sleazy neighborhood in L.A. to set up the drug deal, Elio goes in alone, in the car Joaquin spots Arnulfo, Sara draws her gun to go for a chat, she wants Pepito, some local guys want to know what's up, and as Sara looks, Arnulfo grabs her gun, nice guy Joaquin smoothes things over with everyone, and Arnulfo puts Sara's gun on the ground and smugly walks away.

back at the restaurant Martin again shows up, and introduces himself as the person Plutarco knows him as but Aracely wants nothing to do with this and pulls up Plutarco to leave.

later they arrive at a candle lit hotel room where Plutarco has arranged the bed with rose petals saying Te Amo, Aracely is overwhelmed, no one has ever done something this nice for me, then she decides she is just not good enough, and leaves alone for home, stopping to puke, Martin follows her home and starts to rape her, but there is a knock at the door, it's Plutarco.

and while Felipe is getting ready to boink the maid on a kitchen counter, Josefina walks into the room...

Señora Acero... Friday, epi 38
part 1

at Aracely's, (and I guess this is her old apartment where Martin originally caught her with another guy) Martin totally derails her romance with Plutarco, (as she continually disregards Cornelia's advice, that being caught deceiving someone is worse than telling them the truth). Martin calls her a whore and says to read her ads in the paper which Aracely doesn't deny, Plutarco leaves, Aracely tries beating on Martin who couldn't be happier about how things turned out, assures Aracely that she will always be alone, he'll make sure of it, and leaves, she goes for her drugs.

Josefina is ripping on the maid for trying to seduce her husband, while Felipe blows the whole thing off, but the next day Josefina wants to know if the maid then slept with Felipe in their bed, but Felipe interrupts and jumps on Josefina, pointing out that she has not been able to give him a child,
if she won't leave, he gives her two choices,
1) move down the hall into a separate bedroom
or,
2) go to hell.

what's that whine? oh yeah Salvador, Sara/Elio have completed the drug deal and stop by the place in L.A. on their way to Guadalajara, (I guess they are doing this trip quick so no one knows they were gone) and Salvador wants his mommy, interesting scene with Elio, wiping away his own tears, tells Salvador that when he becomes a man he will understand.

Sara/Elio meet with Quintanilla, he's impressed, but I guess they still have to deliver the drugs, get the money and back to Mexico, and launder it.

Empanada and Miriam awake exhausted after a wild night of sex, Miriam asks for a sign, is this the right man (after Arnulfo and Juan), Empanada comes back in his undies with breakfast, and they go another round.

Sara/Elio show up at the shop with a load of mannequins, we're branching out into clothing now, no one understands why she is moving on so soon after the death of Salvador. Miriam asks if Elio knows about Juan being killed, nope (after reliving stabbing him in the heart), emotional Aracely flips, Sara calls her into a back room, you're high, what's going on, absolutely everything has crashed in Aracely's life and she just wants to die, so Sara, looking around first and swearing Aracely to secrecy tells her Salvador is alive, which is enough magic to crack Aracely's funk and give her hope.

(it also appears that everyone thinks that Enriqueta escaped)

Cortez raids a drug deal in the park, roughs up the young hoods, Indio swings by and roughs up Cortez, these are my guys, he instructs Cortez to tell his men to let them go, but, but, but, can't you control your own men, Indio asks, then takes Cortez for a ride.

he stands him up against a post with a strap around his neck, you should be more worried about Quintanilla's drugs that went to Guaymas instead, but that's another cartel Cortez says, yes but Elio/Sara made it work, Indio replies, I want Sara in jail is Indio's last words, before his guys beat Cortez to the ground.

(is anyone in this show shorter than Indio, other than Salvador?)

Señora Acero... Friday, epi 38
part 2

Elio (who looks like Woody from Toy Story) and his sweet 8 month pregnant complaining wife Sara are in a big truck working there way through a border crossing into Mexico, ut oh, the guards are changing shifts and I don't see the one I paid off Elio says, and yup, they are stopped, "and why are you going to Mexico to have your baby?", among other questions.

"get out of the truck", and a search reveals the truck is full of leather jackets, "isn't this Mexican leather", yes but American machines make better coats, ah, Elio gives the guard a coat, and one for his girlfriend, and they finally get across.

a trick that Sara learned from her Ex. that dogs can't smell the money in leather bags, (not there were any dogs)

Cortez gives his guys a pep talk on getting Elio, he killed his partner, and he knows all of us, our families, and where we live and he will get all of us if we don't get him first.

the maid offers Josefina help moving to her new bedroom, but Josefina just starts ripping on her anew, interrupted again by Felipe and now Berta who has come to talk politics, and as they leave, the maid asks why she lets Felipe treat her like a doormat.

speaking of ripping, Elio and Sara are back at the shop tearing apart leather coats getting the money out, up to $30,000 per coat, 70 million all, the next move is to put it into the mannequins, but they will wait till later because they don't want to involve any of the girls, and in walks Cornelia...

LOS MISERABLES-CAP 33-MONTAJE FALSO-VIERNES NOV 14 2014-PARTE 1

The social worker Vergel shows up at Lucha’s and Deya’s to do an evaluation of Roxanita. She “found out,” she says, that Roxana did not spend the night at home. Lucha offers to clear up everything, noting that she has treated Roxanita as her flesh and blood but Roxana left the house last night and didn’t return until this morning in a traumatized state. She doesn’t think it’s a good idea for the social worker to see her. Vergel threatens Lucha with calling the authorities if she isn’t allowed to see Roxana.

Our leather-clad cops Dan and Pablo meet in a restaurant to talk about how the latter’s undercover duties are going. Pablo says he’s not sure if he’s gained Oleg’s trust yet but he’s concerned about Liliana, the sister of both their girlfriends, who almost broke his cover. He’s sure she’s more than just an “employee” of el Diablo. She’s sexy and attractive, but most of all, she overly ambitious, which means she’s involved in Diablo’s bad dealings.

At the morgue, blonde-wigged Nuria—she looks good as a blonde—and tight-wad Gaston argue over funeral arrangements for Roque. While Nuria mourns over “her Roque” and wants his face fixed for his transit to the next world, Gaston argues that how he looks now is immaterial as “he’s already dead.” “If you want to fix his face do it on your account. I’m not gonna spend a single peso on him,” Gaston says. Nuria grabs Gaston by the collar and tells the “imbecil” he will spend money on Roque’s funeral arrangements or she’s tell everyone he was the one who sent Roque to die by those thugs (hampones).

Adriana and Abel find out from Dr Mallorca that Don Nacho only has indigestion. However, they plan to keep him in the hospital overnight to run tests. Adriana is invited to go to Cancun for the weekend by a friend and is encouraged by Abel to go. Dr. Mallorca gives Abel the eye when he learns Adriana is leaving for the weekend. Abel kisses Adriana to show he approves of her going on this trip and to convince himself he isn’t attracted to the doctor. After the kiss, Dr. Mallorca says if he were Adriana he’d never leave Abel alone to go to Cancun or anywhere else since he’s a good man.

Liliana and Oleg hatch a plan to frame another gang, Los Zodiacos, for Millan’s murder (Millan was the undercover cop). They’re going to re-bury the body in Zodiac territory and allow Daniel and AFIAD to find it to bring the heat down on the Zodiacs and take it off Oleg. In the meanwhile, they’ll take over the Zodiac drug market in Texas and Arizona.

Social worker Vergel and Lucha grapple horns over Roxana and the social worker traumatizes Roxana more by forcefully grabbing her and telling her she’s going to be taken away from Lucha. Deya calls Dan to come over and stop Roxana from being taken; he does but since it isn’t his jurisdiction he can’t stop the social worker. Two armed police officers grab Roxana away from the home into a police car.

LOS MISERABLES-CAP 33-MONTAJE FALSO-VIERNES NOV 14 2014-PARTE 2

Liliana meets with Genaro and asks him to give her the name of a police informant. She explains she has a plan with the informant. Genaro notes how far she has advanced. She finishes his sentence by saying “in evil and the dark side.” She says that she no longer feels remorse as her victims grow. Genaro says killing is power and then Lily gets him to toast to power.

Octavio goes to Radames’ office and tells him they have to intern his mother Deborah into a rehab. Radames says Oct should leave his mother be and live his life; besides putting her in a rehab will let the press and everyone know that he has an alcoholic daughter. Oct counters with “Everyone already knows she’s an alcoholic. We have to put her into rehab so she won’t end up dead!” Sayeth Radames father of the year: “Then she’d do us a favor (if she died).” Octavio is sufficiently shocked and declares “Now I know why my mother is the way she is. You’re a despicable person (persona despreciable)!” And viewerville agrees.

Anselmo begins the false flag operation to frame the Zodiac gang for Miguel’s murder by going to a bar where they know an informant is and speaking with another man about how the Zodiac gang murdered a guy under the orders of its leader Melequias Vargas. The informant eats it up, of course.

Dr Carlos Gallardo and the lawyer in charge of helping Lucha adopt Roxana show up at the social worker’s and curse her out for traumatizing Roxana and having her live in bad conditions. It is obvious this is personal for the social worker and not professional. Dr. Carlos and the lawyer tell the social worker they are going to report her to a regional court which will damage her career and the name of the institution if she doesn’t hand over Roxana right away.

Adriana is in Cancun with her girlfriends having a good time and she encounters the cop Rodriguez (Leon’s fake boyfriend); Rodriguez had won a trip to Cancun and invited Leon but she refused. Looks like Abel will end up with the Dr Mallorca and Adriana with Rodriguez.

Oleg opines while Lily is sleeping how much he loves his santa Lucia who only hates him. How can he get her to feel half of what he feels for her when everyday she is higher and further away from him.

Lucha shows up in the hospital to visit Nacho and tells him about Roxana being in an orphanage. Nacho tells her to find someone with influence to help her because that’s the only way to get things accomplished in Mexico.

The informant shows up at AFAID and speaks with Danny who doesn’t believe his story as Millan was investigating Oleg’s gang and Radames and not the Zodiacs. He decides to investigate the tale though with Genaro’s help and they end up in an alley and dumpster where it smells like a dead body. Upon seeing the body, Genaro says he isn’t sure if it’s Millan but Dan should look. Dan stares at Genaro suspiciously, looks at the body and then declares that this whole discovery is a false flag operation (montaje) because it was way too easy to get this information and find the body. Oleg tricked the informant with bad information and set the body in the dumpster. Dan in turn says AFAID with a special force will set up an operation to ensure the downfall of Oleg.

Lucha is in the hospital chapel and prays to God for help. She says it’s not a matter of believing in Him anymore because she does believe as she feels Him in her heart. He’s as loving as her father and powerful. She’s tired of complaining but she’s not asking for herself but Roxana. “My daughter needs me and I need You,” she declares.

END OF CAPITULO

Sra. Acero
Tks so much deb for Th & Fr, I am missing so much. Good riddance to Roque but I missed the pleasure of his demise. So many more bad asses to get rid of, Martin #1.

Los Mis
Gracias J desde NYC
Some social worker, Roxana will be scarred for life by her treatment.

Señora Acero
Many thanks, deb! Martin needs to go... NOW. But Aracely really needs to come clean.

Loved the quip about Elio looking like Woody.

Thank you to J desde NYC and Deb for the fine recaps. I couldn't enjoy the novelas without you. AnonGringa

LOS MIS

Thank you J desde NYC for your recap!

I was frustrated during the last few episodes seeing how easily the kids were pushed around and manipulated, ughhhhh. And the social worker sure isn't winning any miss congeniality awards anytime soon. All she and Lily need are pointy hats and brooms to complete their outfits.

And I'm so curious to see how the Rodriguez/Adriana/Abel/Dr.Handsome will play out. No doubt it will be fun and frustrating to watch.

jlk

Thanks guys for the recap loving! The social worker, her last name is Vergel, just seems to be mean for no reason. The extraness in getting Roxana out of the apartment was just unnecessary. Did she need two armed police officers and to be so mean and snarling to Lucha? She wasn't ever that rude to Nuria and Roque and they deserved it!
