It is with a very heavy heart that I share this news. Yesterday morning, Madelaine passed away in the hospital. If you have not already reached out to me for her address, and would like to send something to her family, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Oh Vivi, how sad. She was such a delight and we will miss her terribly. Thanks for letting us know. Mike and I will send a card to her family.

Vivi,

Thank you for letting us know about Madelaine.

Jarifa

Madeleine, En Paz Descansa.

I cannot believe that Mads is gone. Her personality was so intense that I think that many of us here at Caraycaray felt as if she was a dear friend. Her positive attitude and gentle spirit , her love of music , and her upbeat recaps always put a smile on my face . I will miss her presence here . Love you, Mads. I just finished teaching the novel The Five People You Meet in Heaven. One of my favorite quotes from the book is "Life has to end; love doesn't."

Such terrible news. Thanks for letting us know. Saying prayers for her family.

This is such sad news. Thank you for keeping us informed.

While I haven't been on the site for long and didn't have much of an opportunity to know Madelaine and read her recaps and comments, I have to say that in her recent posts I came to admire her enormously, her positive attitude, her endearing spirit, and boundless positive energy.

She stated that she was faced with serious health issues, but she never seemed to give up or to give in to a feeling of despair.

I'm so sure she will be greatly missed by her family, neighbors, friends, and all of us on "Caray, Caray".

Let us learn from Madelaine's way of positive way of facing tremendous obstacles and reward her memory thus.

I am so very sorry to hear about Maddy's passing. My deepest sympathy to her family.

My heart hurts.

This is too sad to hear. She always seemed so full of life, even through a computer screen. My prayers are with her family.

Sad to hear that. May she rest in peace.

Her positive spirit shone through, even in those last messages detailing her health issues. She will be sorely missed.

So, so sad about Madeline. I was relatively new to Caray and didn't get to read too many of her recaps, but I thoroughly enjoyed the ones I did - especially her great "ear worms" that fit every instance where she used them perfectly.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family. RIP

Naima

Rest in Peace, dear Madeleine. I loved your recaps and your style, I read you a lot. I didn't know you closely, but I think you were a GRAN person. You will miss me! :( :(

I join to Naima: My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

A boy from Hungary!

My wife, Alicia & I send our condolences to Madeleine's family during this tough time.

RIP.

Madeline, My heavy heart feels like I took your wonderful recaps for granted, you took the trouble to even insert earworms for us. How I wish i could wake up in morning to read one of your recaps or comments again. I Didnt know you, but it is evident you touched other hearts like mine. I pray the Holy Comforter will comfort your loving family and that you rest in Peace and eternal life in Heaven when our Savior returns.

Madelaine, you were always a delight to read. Your patience and sense of community was strong. I know your family has many happy memories of you.

Vivi, please keep us informed on funeral arrangements & services.

OH NO!! OH NO! Oh my God! Please, please how can I send condolences. Haven't seen other comments. Will look laterto know how and where to send condolences. She has been in my prayers daily. This is so sad, so sad.

I am so sad to read about Mads this morning!

She was a wonderful, generous, intelligent, and very creative person. Her recaps were always well-written, thoughtful, funny, and informative, and she also served as a highly valued leader on our recapping team for Lo Que La Vida Me Robó. She helped me tremendously in my rookie recapping season. I don't think I ever would have started without her encouragement and support.

I feel very lucky to have been able to get to know her here on Caray, Caray! Mads was a tremendous asset to our community, and we will all feel the loss.

My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all of us who were touched by her spirit.
Thinking of her and of you all,
Julia R.

For those who would like the family's address, email me at brownvinette at hotmail.

I am so sad losing Madelaine, who was such a vivacious, devoted member of our team here. She was always eager to take on more! She loved what she was doing and she loved everybody here it seems! Her enthusiasm glowed. I bet she lived all her life with the same generous energy she showed us. En paz descansa.

Such horrible news. All her work here was wonderful and I always felt that we were sitting at the same table.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

Thank you Mads for every thing.

I just saw this - I had gone right to the LM post this morning.

Our dear Madelaine.

Oh Vivi, I wish you were here so I could hug you.

Madelaine loved her family and she loved life. She was kind, caring, intelligent and was a bright light whose acts of kindness and unquenchable spirit will never be extinguished.

May God give her husband and Mia comfort.

You touched our lives forever.

Diana

Everyone- I've added Mads' obituary to the post. It has funeral services info.

Somehow can't wrap my heart around never again being able to again type "Brilliant Mads!" Such a joy, so dedicated to us all. Thank you Vivi for sharing this sad news. Someone most of us never actually had the pleasure of meeting, yet we feel we lost a dear friend. My prayers to her family this morning. I will light a special Christmas candle for her and her loved ones through this season.

Vivi, thanks for letting us know about Madelaine. She was one of the greatest bloggers here on Caray Caray, it's just so sad to know she will no longer be here with us. My prayers go out to her family.

May Madelaine rest in peace. My heartfelt sympathy to her family. I'm so grateful for having the opportunity to share with her our love of telenovelas. Madelaine was a delight. She will be deeply missed.

Not able to wrap my mind around Mads' passing. There was so much life and joy in that gal.

What I wish most of all is that Mads could be back "in just a tick" as she loved to say in her rambunctious recaps.

But I will focus on those words Susanlynn gave us from Five People You Meet in Heaven. "Life has to end, love doesn't."

And knowing Mads, there's already a huge crowd of people, and a jazz band, awaiting her in heaven.

Vivi - thank you for the update. I'm so sad and sorry to learn Mads is no longer with us. I enjoyed her recaps for telenovelas, her sense of humor and her gift for putting musical earworms in our head. My heart goes out to her family, and I wish them comfort, peace and serenity.

I was just thinking....isn't it great that some of Mads' wit and wisdom has been captured and remains in the many recaps she did here at caraycaray.

It is indeed, Susanlynn. How touching that her love of this blog figured so prominently in the obituary. What a wonderful woman, what a wonderful community.

I read the sad news last night and Madelaine's passing was the first thing on my mind when I woke up this morning. The sadness is deep and heavy for me. We never met but I felt as though I knew her. Mads was that way, friendly, loving and caring. Always helpful. She loved this blog and it showed. Madelaine, you won't be forgotten.

Madeleine gave us so much of her enthusiasm and love for life. We'll miss her deeply.

Madelaine is no longer with us daily, but will live on in, "Wait a Minute...," our hearts. She gave us so much of herself, selflessly. I never had the privilege of meeting her, but as with all of you, we felt we knew her through her words. I did have the occasion to have a wonderfully long phone conversation about family, ancestry and heritage, with her long ago and she was just as sparkling and enthusiastic on the phone as on our blogs.

There's nothing I can add to the previous hosannas for her, but I did want to add my voice to those of her beloved Caray community in celebrating her life. She will be missed.
Anita

This is the message I sent to our bloggers by e-mail, but I'm not very original, so here it is in a post for all those who visit CarayCaray from ALL OVER THE WORLD!

Mads, you were as much a part of this blog community as it was a part of you. you will be sooooo missed.
We will treasure all the memories.

Thanks for letting us know, Vivi. This is terribly sad news. I miss her already.

I know the usual expression is "Rest in peace", but I suspect our vivacious Mads is not resting at all, but her spirit is livening up some heavenly realm with the same vim and vigor and pizzazz with which she brightened this one.

Terribly sad news. My condolences to Madeleine's family and all those here at Caray Caray who loved her wit and wisdom.

Madelaine was a wonderful person who treated everyone like a dear friend. Those kind of people are few and far between. She is missed.

Jarifa

May her soul rest in peace. She will be missed. My condolences to all.
Romy

Oh my...

Last year Mads and I had many private conversations via e-mail, and we had much fun with recapping a show together.

She was a wonderful and sweet woman, she'll be missed dearly.

Rest in peace, Madelaine.

I always lurk around caray and found myself feeling at home.
Madelaine made her recaps lively and I loved her earworms which were always perfect.
I feel so sad about her passing. Wish her family all the best and may her kindhearted soul rest in peace.

I am so very saddened to learn of the death of our beloved Madelaine. I’m especially stunned and dismayed because I’ve always considered her to be indefatigable and indestructible. As others have noted, not only did she turn out an amazing number of wonderful recaps with such skill and love for her craft, she always demonstrated remarkable affection and appreciation of her audience and her subject. She always responded graciously and thoughtfully to everyone's comments with such a personalized touch. I adored her folksy style and wry sense of humor. I especially enjoyed and cherish our good-natured spirited disagreements… her opinions were always so well-reasoned, clever, and fair-minded… and somehow she always seemed to mange to get in the last word. She was always welcoming to the newcomers who would wander into our midst making them feel at ease and comfortable. She contributed immeasurably to the sense of community, intimacy, and goodwill we enjoy so much here. As everyone else, I deeply mourn our loss and will miss her immensely.

Carlos

I feel a profound sadness that touches the very depths of my heart. I sit here in stunned silence at this news...Our beloved Madelaine is gone. I prayed that we would receive positive news and that she would write her special words for us one more time.

Oh Madelaine, I am crying huge tears for you. You brought us such joy, amiga...such joy.

I will miss you so very, very much, amiga.

Sending you all my love,

Fatima

Vivi, thanks for updating the info.

My deepest condolences to all of you here who loved and embraced Madelaine.

Only recently, in your threads about her struggle, I saw how you touched her, and how she touched you. She gave you Joy.
And you gave her Joy.
Divine.

Rest in Peace, Madelaine.

I'm very sorry to hear about Madeleine's passing. My prayers and condolences go out to her family. :(

My condolences to her family and to any who knew her "beyond the blog."

Thank you also to Carlos, for saying what I wish I had said.
Yes, I enjoyed Mads' recaps and humor, but you are so right about the warmth, the welcoming, the sense of community, and the goodwill.
Such qualities are rare enough in the virtual world and exceedingly so in the flame-ridden, quasi-anonymous virtual world.
People one meets online are often not what they seem, but you could tell that the typist behind the witty reaps was good people in all worlds, the virtual, the real, and now the next.

My condolences to Madelaine's family.

I am sad to hear of Mad's passing. I never met her, but she felt like a friend. She welcomed me into the group when I started commenting over a year ago, and I always looked forward to reading her recaps and comments as well. She was witty, funny and dedicated. She will be sorely missed.

She has left such a hole in our hearts. The energy and good humor that flowed from her through her virtual corner of the world will now be directed down towards us from Heaven. Of that I have no doubt. QEPD, amiga!

Such somber news to hear about Madelaine. Not only was she an awesome recapping machine, but also a very kind and welcoming person. You will be sorely missed.

Vivi, I'm grateful to you for letting us know when Mads was ill so we had a chance to to stay in touch with her in the last weeks of her life.

If her absence is so painful now, maybe it is, at least in part, because she was so very present here in the Caray Caray family. She was our resident optimist, our cheerleader, our smile therapist. She managed to make everyone feel welcome and included. I think we all know how generous she was to other bloggers. When she was watching something you were recapping, it was like having your mother in the auditorium for your school play. You knew she was out there smiling at you and poised to jump up and applaud as soon as you were done.

My sympathies are with her family as they struggle to cope with their terrible loss.

I am heartbroken and speechless. What a heavy loss for everyone whose life Madelaine touched with her wonderful and positive energy.

Thank you for letting us know, Vivi.

Thank you, Vivi.

I didn't know Madelaine, nor did our paths seem to cross on Caray, Caray. But I know from the many comments that she was a large part of heart of this enterprise that so many people keep going with their generous time commitments and good humor.

I am so touched to see that her family recognized her love of Mexican novelas in the oblituary and her commitment to learn Spanish through them. They honor everyone who came in contact with her on the forum and the ability of people to find joy and new challenges in many corners of the universe.

Oh no!
I just checked by Caray for the first time in several days and just now read this sad, sad news.

Madeleine was such a mood-lifter. She jumped cannon-ball style into the novelas and splashed joy all over our Caray pages. I was astonished that she could re-cap so many at once – a feat that I would have said was impossible had she not actually done it before our very eyes.

She was such a warm and welcoming presence and one that I know will hover over Caray to keep us all smiling.

So so sad to hear of Madeline's passing. She always had such a positive attitude. I remember the first time I wrote on this blog, she made me feel welcomed. Even through a computer screen I could see what a wonderful person she was. May she rest in peace.

Evelin

Oh Mads! My heart is so heavy. I will miss you tremendously. Our loss is Heaven's gain.

This is such terrible news. I'm so sad to hear about Mads passing. Her family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Vivi, for sharing this heartbreaking news about Madeleine. She was a model and an inspiration. Funny how we get to know people through this crazy medium of the internet. Only a voice on a blog, but now the real person has left us. I am just back from the funeral of a young woman, the daughter of a friend, so grief surrounds me. What I take away from all this is that people's contributions live on. It's an important lesson to us all not to waste the time we're given. Madeleine gave much and will be remembered for it.

OMG!!!
I just found out about Madelaine, how sad. She was very helpful when I was a beginning blogger. She will be missed.

Deepest condolences to her family, and to what is clearly her extended family here at Caray. QEPD, Madelaine.

Kelly

This is a sad day for me, reading that Ms. Madelaine has passed on. May God keep her in his loving arms. I shall pray for her soul. Please extend my condolence to her family.
