Hasta El Fin Del Mundo #75 12/1/14 Nandito Becomes Collateral Damage

I really hate to say this, but this will be kind of a bare bones recap in some places. To do my recaps I watch online and take notes, then watch the TV broadcast and use the English CCs to fill in the gaps. We are having very cold weather in Western Washington and the TV reception has been terrible for the last few days. Monday night we were not able to get Univision at all and Hulu Plus doesn't have this episode available yet. If any of you can help fill in the gaps - or correct me if I got something wrong in the comments I'd be most grateful. I'll even treat you to this fun comic in return:

On to the recap!
(Some scenes have been combined)

At the hospital, Sofia tells Chava that she needs time to know if she really loves him. They come very close to kissing, but he kisses her forehead instead. Then he leaves.

The most chaste romance in history.

Back at the factory, Lucas decides to answer Dani's question about why he and Oliver aren't friends anymore He says that Oliver was lying when he told Dani that Lucas stole the watch. He didn't steal anything! But it was easy to blame the cook's grandson for the theft.

Greta wakes to find Sofia sitting next to her hospital bed, "Sofia, it's good that you're here."
Sofia asks, "Where did you get those photos, mama?" Greta rags on Sofia again about Salvador and laments that her daughters are going down the wrong path.

Armie meets with a lawyer to legally separate from Irma.

I should caution you, she attacks without warning.

Fausto, Sofia and Alexa talk in the hospital lobby. Alexa goes to see Greta. Sofia tells Fausto that there was an incident in the cafeteria between Salvador and Patricio. Nothing bad happened, but she ended things with Patricio. Fausto is glad that Sofia can finally have a chance with Salvador.

On the phone, Armie and Chava agree to meet at Cuco's. Armie tells him that the lawyer said it won't be easy for him to separate from Irma. The lawyer is going to try to convince her that the separation is for the best.

Alexa gives Greta a tray of food, but Greta just badgers her yet again about Armie and accuses her of causing the breakup of his marriage. She says Alexa is making another big mistake. Greta reminds Alexa that before she was enamored with Armie, she was involved with Alan the Cockroach. Alexa's been a capricious nincompoop ever since she was a little girl.

I kept expecting her head to spin around ala The Exorcist.

Armie and Chava have lunch at Cuco's. I think Armie said he was willing to give Irma the house. He tells Chava that Irma attacked Alexa at the factory.

Irma and Alexa wrestling? But no tub of jello?

Chava gives Armie the news that Sofia dumped Pato. Armie is excited because it opens the door for Chava. Chava wishes it was that easy.

Sofia returns to work and gets an update from Silvana. "Alexa hired Irais Bernal, a graphic designer."
"Anything else?"
"Armando's wife came in and attacked Alexa." Sofia can't believe it. "Is that woman crazy?"

I leave for a few hours and the place turns into the WWE.

Pato comes into the office. Now that Sofia's dumped him, he intends to put all his energy into his work. Sofia tells him that he's always been a big part of Ripoll.
"Gracias, Tesoro.. pardon me... I mean gracias, Sofia."

Silvana and Pato talk in the lobby.

Armie's lawyer goes to the house to talk to Irma. She is pissed, but he asks her to at least listen to the proposal. She agrees and rudely tells him he can come in.

Chava is just getting home from Cuco's when Pato pulls up. Chava asks what Pato thinks he is doing, showing up at his house? Pato says he came to ask Chava to come back to work at the factory.

I know all about romance.
I've watched all the James Bond movies.

They have a testosterone fueled discussion about Sofia and what is or is not romantic. Finally Pato asks, "Are you coming back to the factory or not?"
Chava tell him, "I'll think about it."

Silvana gives Sofia a folder and asks about Pato. Sofia admits that she ended their relationship. Sofia just wants to be sure of her feelings. Silvana urges her, "Now you can be with Salvador."
"No....."
"I'm very happy for you, Sofia."

The lawyer hands Irma a document and a pen. Irma takes the document and immediately rips it up and throws the pieces at the lawyer. "Armando is my husband and no lawyer is giving him his freedom!"

Make me an offer that I'll refuse.

The lawyer stands, "If that's how you feel, good bye, Ms. Romero." He lets himself out. Nandito comes in and asks, "What's wrong, mama?"
"Your dad hired a lawyer to dump me for that other woman. That Alexa Ripoll!"
Nandito argues with Irma, "No, you're wrong. The giant girl is my dad's boss. We're friends."  Irma makes a big show of crying as she goes to the bedroom and shuts the door.

Alexa and Fausto talk while Greta sleeps.

Matias and Armie talk in the mechanical room of the factory. Armie gets a call from Nandito. "Mama locked herself in the bedroom and won't answer me!"
Armie tells him to call Chava or Araceli. He'll come home as soon as he can.

Lupe', Marisol and Chava sit at the table and talk about Lucas and Javier. Nandito calls. Chava leaves to go help him out.

At Armie's house, Chava knocks on the bedroom door, "Irma? It's me, Salvador." She screams at him through the door. Nandito starts to cry. Armie comes running in. Nandito sobs and tells him that Irma said Armie is in love with the giant girl. Chava tells Armie to take Nandito aside and explain things while he tries to get Irma to open the door.

Lucas talks to Manjarres on the phone. From behind him in the hallway, Dani listens in. Lucas will meet Manjarres tonight outside the factory. Dani worries that Lucas is going to the dark side again.

Nandito cries, "Is it true, papa? Are you in love with Alexa?" Armie reassures him, "Alexa had nothing to do with the problems between your mom and me." Chava taps on the door and Irma finally opens it. Armie rushes over and tells Chava to stay with Nandito while he talks to Irma.

Armie goes into the bedroom with Irma. He yells at her about attacking Alexa and blaming her for their problems. "Alexa isn't the reason we're separated. The reason we're separated is YOU!"

If looks could kill Armie would be six feet under.

Chava does his best to try to calm Nandito. Armie comes out of the bedroom and tries to explain things to his son. Nandito can come and stay at the apartment with him. The poor kid sobs, "But my mama would be alone." Irma comes out of the bedroom and screams, "You're not taking my son!" Armie gets up and leaves the house while Nandito cries, "No, Papita! No, Papa, No!"

Outside the house Chava tells Armie that Pato came to his house to offer Chava his job back.

Isadora and Oliver visit Greta at the hospital. Greta tells them she is going home tomorrow. Alexa says something about being young and then looks embarrassed. Isadora asks where Dani is. Greta gushes, "I adore your son, Isadora. I'm very happy about his friendship with Dani."

In the hospital waiting room, Fausto notices Morgana on the next sofa. He tries to make small talk and asks how long she's worked for Isadora. "I've been with Isadora since the divorce."
"Then you're part of the family, right?"
"Of course not. I know my place."

At Paco's, Araceli talks to Irma on the phone. After she hangs up Paco asks what's going on with Irma. Araceli tells him, "Armando got a lawyer." Paco shakes his head. He worries about Nandito. He remembers Greta's words at the hospital.

Pato comes into Sofia's office and asks if she's going to the hospital. He wants to go with her, if it's okay.

Outside the factory, Dani watches Lucas from a taxi. He talks on the phone then gets into the passenger side of the car ahead of them. Dani asks the driver to follow the car.

Sofia and Pato arrive at the hospital. She asks about Dani. Fausto hasn't seen her. Sofia calls Dani's cell but she doesn't answer. Alexa hasn't seen her either. As they talk, Pato goes in to visit Greta and tells her that Sofia broke up with him. He's also asked Cruz to return to work at the factory.
"No, Patricio!" Pato knows what he's doing. He asks Greta to trust him.

Marisol asks Matias if he'll go to the boxing matches with her. "Boxing? I'll go if you buy the tacos!"

Dani gets out of the taxi at the gym and goes inside. She watches Lucas, then sits down in the front row of the stands. What the hell is she thinking? She's the only young woman in a crowd of drunken men and they're all checking her out. This isn't dangerous at all. Dani asks the guy sitting next to her what's going on. He shows her the program. She reads off the names and her eyes get big when she reads Lucas' name on a boxing match.

Pato and Silvana talk and start making out.

The guy next to Dani starts to hit on her. She gets up to move, but he jumps up and stands in front of her blocking her way.

End of Episode.

Thanks, xclnt. The recap,is great!

When I heard Chava trying to be cool by saying "Claro que switch" one more time, I thought would it not be a hoot if he said that and then Pedro Fernández "switches" to David Zepeda? Sure would be corny but funny for the English speakers.

Anyway, Dani is really more naïve or stupid than I thought going to a neighborhood boxing match alone. Lucas saw her so he will probably come to her rescue.

Crazy Irma is reaching new lows. I was glad that Chava was there to see the crazy show for himself.
At least Armando left Irma with Nandito and was not blackmailed in to staying.

Jarifa

Jarifa, Nandito better start grieving now because sooner or later, Irma is going to get whacked!

We should ony be so lucky!

Jarifa

thanks xInt, you got it all I recall.

I felt so sorry for Nandito

Can't believe Salvador is even considering going back to work for the Ripoll's. His largest gains with Sofia have been after he left and he is not pursuing a real job that could make him financially independent. Idiot.

The Ripolis are the Cryers from Tyler Perry's "The Haves & the Have Not's"

Thanks Kathy! I watched this on mute yesterday, but still picked up on everything that was happening. For the life of me, I can't understand why Chava would go back to Ripoll. He sees Sofia every day anyway. And as has been pointed out, he has made WAY more progress with her since he stopped being her employee. Why go back?

Poor Nandito!

Lucas needs to learn that people might be more inclined to believe him if he actually explained things and didn't react like some angry, petulant teen. Why should Dani not believe that he stole a watch from his granny's employer when he was a thief when she met him? He's always so quick to believe the worst of others with no cause, yet he gets so offended when others assume the worst of him when they DO have just cause.

I could believe something like Oliver's mom stole the watch to buy booze when Oliver's dad cut her off, and then later got it back and hid it in Lucas' stuff. Or maybe Lucas was just admiring the watch and had no intention of stealing it. Whatever. But I can also believe that Luca stole it. And he shouldn't act like some little angel and be shocked that people could believe it.

xlnt, Loved the recap and captions; thank you! ha ha — Exorcist was perfect. Greta was heinous. They need to give her some better meds.

Unfortunately, they had scenes decrying Salvador’s urgent need for cash for his family; so it seems likely they are setting him up to run Patricio’s gauntlet again at Ripoll. He’s going back because the writers are ordering him to have more conflict with Patricio. What can he do. It’ll be interesting to see David in Patricio’s face, though. David can play really mean. My Pedro is not weak, but he’s not mean; he’s a romantic. I love him, and I’m going to miss him. Sniff.

Silvana could do more in their girl talks to encourage Sofía to keep Patricio dumped and to take on Salvador full time. I guess Silvana’s not fully invested yet; but I do wonder why Patricio trusts her to be on his side. If he weren’t so narcissistic, he’d be wondering about that.

Nando was so well adjusted before; amazing he got to be that old with Irma as his mother and still not be ruined. It’s a testament to Armando’s influence. Armando is solid level headed, though; not even Nando’s abject sobbing can divert him from his estimation of the truth. That is something I like about Armando.

Too bad, Oliver; if Greta adores Oliver, there is no way Daniela is going to wind up with him. Greta’s endorsement is the kiss of death on a relationship. And possibly even on the annointee’s life: Patricio is going to wind up dead; Alan went down in a wall of explosive flames. I wouldn’t take Greta’s approval so meekly as you did, Oliver.

That scene with Fausto and Morgana was intriguing; have to be listening to what they say and filing it away for future reference.

The best part of the episode was when Daniela crazily follows Lucas and Manjarres in a taxi. She is so in love with Lucas, no bad part of town is going to stop her finding out what he’s involved in.

It’s good, because apparently nobody else is concerned about Lucas; Marisol isn’t that involved with him that she even notices his habits. Daniela got to the crux in a couple minutes of paying attention. And she even skipped on her shift by Greta’s hospital bed for the guy she loves. Go Dani!

I forgot about crazy Alan. What happened to him after he was kicked out of the Ripoll mansion?

"Nandito Becomes Collateral Damage". What a powerful statement Xint. And how on point.

As always, the recap was sensational and your screen shots superb. "Irma and Alexa wrestling? But no tub of jello?" had me smiling away as did just about every single caption. You captured the essence of Irma - angry, bitter and vengeful!

Jarifa, I was also glad Armando left despite poor Nandito's tears.

Although I'm not particularly inventsted in Dani (mostly due to Lucas), I do agree with your assesment Jeri that "Greta’s endorsement is the kiss of death on a relationship". I don't like Lucas but Oliver doesn't impress me either.

And speaking of Lucas, "He's always so quick to believe the worst of others with no cause, yet he gets so offended when others assume the worst of him when they DO have just cause" hit the nail on the head Vivi.

I have to remind myself that they broke up because his sensibilities were offended that she didn't tell him the truth about her family. Yes, how awful. Far worse than the grifting, lying and stealing you did Lucas.

Gobluefan, I had wondered about Alan some time back. I have a feeling he will appear like a bad dream when least expected. I fear we haven't seen the last of him.

Xint, this was terrific!

Diana

Gobluefan,
All we know is that Alan was thrown off the property by Armando and the security guard. He vowed revenge and is still very much alive. I think Diana is right, we'll be seeing his ugly face again.

Can anyone tell me what Fausto said to Alexa while Greta was sleeping? I thought it had something to do with something she had done in the past. I wasn't sure, so I didn't include it.

Lucas stole the watch in my opinion.

Once a thief always a thief !

Dani shouldn't go anywhere near him & move on with Oliver.

Fausto said Greta was young and dumb once, too

Jeri Hopefully, David will channel his Bruno Lombardo when Chava fights with Patricio.

P.S. Zepeda had better appear without a shirt or I'm going on strike.

P.S. Hopefully, they will recreate the shower scene! I would like to see it and I will probably watch it several times for research purposes.

Xlnt---I watch this show for the most part, sometimes I miss a little. Your recap along with screen shots are excellent.

I have been wondering why everyone
is so against Irma? It seems to me that her husband is dropping her for a young, pretty and rich Ripoll woman. So Irma attacked her. That doesn't seem so crazy to me, it happens all the time. Your husband is going after another and so the wife wants to get even and put the hurt on the girlfriend. Can someone explain?
the gringo

gringo, it was only recently disclosed Nandito is not Armandos child and she lied about it for years so Armando wants out but loves the boy and considers himself the father because he raised him and therefore will not tell.

Gringo- In addition to what Tofie said, the only reason Armando committed to a relationship (but not marriage) years ago with Irma is because she was pregnant with "his" child. So she lied to trap him, and lied for all the years after. He was already ready to end things (and not because of Alexa) when this tn started. The paternity revelation was the last nail in the coffin of their already rotting relationship.

Cynderella, yep, yep; that is the character I was picturing. While Fuerza is one of my fave telenovelas, so far David has not yet recouped as a protagonist the cutting edge sex appeal he achieved as a villain in Sortilegio.

I kind of fear he is still trading on Bruno and may never actually ever again pretend to such heights as a good guy.

Irma has kind of a malignant personality; either that or she was raised really poorly.

I don't know how Paco is her uncle, whether by marriage or blood; but I'd be more inclined she's related to Aracely by blood than good-guy Paco.

Paco swears Aracely's mother was a good woman and saved his bacon when he was destroyed by Greta and Ripoll.

But there's a bit of bad seed somewhere in the family of Aracely and Irma. (Aracely is her first cousin.)

Thanks Tofie and Vivi---So Irma is now paying for her lies, the truth came out. Ok, that makes things more understandable. Do we know who the father really is?
the gringo

P.S. The way Irma is misusing a child -- and her own son, no less -- right now is plenty to convict her of having a malignant personality. Anyone who would torture any child like that, let alone their own, is guilty of child abuse.

David Zepeda or the Producers of Hasta: please ask David to act like Bruno (the sexy psycho from Sortilegio) when Chava is angry with or plots against Patricio. I know someone from the show reads Caray Caray because I'm a narcissist and cannot believe that you wouldn't. Also please recreate the shower scene because I'm a perv.

Cynderella, LOL I don't think you have to fret about shower scenes; it's Zepeda + Nicandro Díaz.

And I'm sure they are both reading this, having their assistants refresh the page every half hour.

Gringo, Nandito's father was a convict named Ramon who went to jail soon after Irma started dating Armando. His sister showed up and told Irma that Ramon was dying and wanted to see her. She threatened Irma that if she didn't make the trip to see Ramon, she would tell Armando the truth about Nandito. Irma made up a story about visiting a friend from high school and went to the prison to see Ramon. He begged her to bring Nandito to see him. When Irma got back home she was planning a secret trip to take Nandito to see Ramon.

Unfortunately for Irma, Armando walked in on a conversation between Irma and Ramon's sister and Irma was forced to tell Armando the truth, that he wasn't Nandito's father.

Later on, Irma and Armando took Nandito to meet Ramon, but Nandito was never told that Ramon is his father.

Irma also planned to sell the house right out from under the family. The house isn't hers, it belonged to Armando's parents and he inherited it.

Irma is also working as a mole for Renzi, the real estate agent who is buying up all the neighborhood property.

Irma is not at all a nice character. That's why everyone hates her.

In reference to the boxing match, remember that medal that Lucas carries around? Can someone remind me who the medal belonged to? I'm thinking it was his grandfather; but was his father?

If he inherited a talent for boxing from Miguelina's son that would be evidence he's a blood relation of her -- and not Javier, like I'm theorizing.

I seem to remember he said it was a medal from his grandfather, though; if so, it could be his mom's dad -- and my Javier theory would still be intact.

xlnt, xlnt points about Irma! That pretty much covers it.

Jeri- The medal belongs to his dead father, Miguelina's son.

Thanks for the info, Vivi!

Armie intimidated him with, "Don't come back or else you'll be facing me."
