Carmen upon hearing the news that Nuria was killed starts crying that Ulises is possibly in danger. Hector tells her to calm down. This is no way to fix things. He will make some calls.
Ulises is able to get away from the inmate with the knife and the guards break up the fight.
Danilo welcomes Esteban, Cris and Acacia to his humble brothel....errrrrr abode. He hopes that they will consider him part of the family just like they do with Ale. Not so fast replies Cris. You have to prove that you can take care of Ale first. And more importantly that you respect her. That is why I organized this meal replies Danilo. To show you just how well I treat Ale. Danilo is sucking up to Cris and Esteban. Ale excuses herself to check on the food and asks Acacia to accompany her.
Ale asks Acacia what happened with Ulises. I did something stupid replies Acacia. I declared against him. I was so angry with him. German declared that Ulises was very upset when he found out what Nuria did and that is why he was trying to find her. It seems they never fled together.
Perla is surprised with a rose from Memo. He's happy that she had the night off so they can spend time together. Perla just not to thrilled in owing Ale a favor for this. Memo thinks Ale is just trying to be nice but Perla isn't buying it. He wants to take her dancing. This excites Perla and she wonders why he is so good to her. Because you deserve it says Memo.
Acacia says wanted Ulises to be freed and get back together. In regards to Esteban....Ale says she was surprised to hear that Cris and Esteban got back together again. She's happy about it and wonders if Acacia is. Acacia admits to telling Esteban about the baby. She hopes he didn't return to her mother just because of the baby. I thought once he returned I would be happy, but I'm not. I worry that he only returned for the baby and not my mother. Did he try something again with you asks ale. No, I told him that we have to keep our distance replies Acacia. I want to run from the hacienda and never see Esteban again.
Danilo tells Cris and Esteban his life story. He was born in El Soto with nothing. I had days that there was nothing to eat. That is why I went to the capital to find a better life. Ale advises Acacia not to run away. It never solves anything. Acacia complains that it's horrible living at the hacienda. She knows she still loves Ulises but is so confused. Ale thinks that if Esteban returned, it was to be with Cris and to forget all about her. You also can't leave your mother alone that the baby is coming. Acacia says she has no where to go. Her grandparents have decided to live at the hacienda. Ale advises her to keep her distance from Esteban but stay for her mother, grandparents and the baby.
Esteban tells Cris that everything he told Danilo is the truth. He is the man today because of her. Cris acknowledges that she helped him but he worked hard to get where he is at. I wanted to be the best man I could be for you replies Esteban. I have come back to that same spot wanting to do everything for you. Cris tells Esteban she is surprised by Danilo's story. Perhaps they have judged him wrong.
Danilo gets a call from someone telling him that Nuria is dead but they are still working on Ulises. Danilo wants them to hurry up and call him when it's done.
Esteban asks Cris if she is planning on drinking her wine. Cris isn't in the mood and will ask for water instead. Danilo comes back in and wants to talk business.
Ulises is in solitary confinement. He believes this incident was a chance encounter. Why did you do this to me Acacia?
Ale comes in to tell the group that dinner is ready. The girls leave and Danilo tells Esteban he will understand if he doesn't want to go into business together anymore. Esteban says he's still in. he wants this keep this separate from Cris's business. Danilo fully understands.
Luisa comes in with appetizers. Acacia says she and Ale spoke and since Luisa is family would like her to join them for dinner. Luisa declines. Ale tries to talk her into it and Cris tires to help. You are Ale's friend and this dinner is so that we can get to know Danilo better. You should join us she urges. Luisa again declines and reminds them that Danilo is footing the bill. Ale hugs Cris and is happy that she decided to come to dinner. She hopes Cris will visit more often. She runs off with Cris to show her the kitchen. Acacia goes straight to the point and asks Luisa if the reason she doesn't want to dine with them is because of her. Luisa says she's still bothered by what Acacia did against Ulises. We may be friends but our paths are very different.
Hector meets German and Lizi at a restaurant. German is grateful to Hector for insisting on helping him have an exhibition. Lizi excuses herself. Hector tells German that he is glad things are looking up in his life. That he has finally closed the chapter with Ale and is moving on with Lizi. German admits that every time he wants to start another painting, Ale's image comes to him instead. Hector understands. There are loves that cannot be forgotten. But the important thing is to recognize there are other things out there. He asks how many more paintings he plans to show at his exhibition.
Back at the hacienda Esteban says he was glad they went to dinner at Danilo's. Perhaps she is right and they were wrong about him all along. He will treat him more differently now. Cris thinks it's a good idea. She had the feeling that Ale is lonely. Esteban tells Cris just how beautiful she is. You have a sparkle in your eyes. They smooch.
Danilo hopes Ale had a good time tonight. When you behave, I like to reward you. Ale loves spending time with those that she loves. But every time she thinks about what he can do to them, her stomach churns. He ignores her and starts reading out of a romance book. He says he is planning on going into business with Esteban. She will be very proud of him. She tells him to leave Esteban alone. He is not a guy you go into your sort of businesses with. He says that's the point. To get into a respectable business and get out of the one that he is in now. Just like I promised you. She tells him to quit lying. He will never stop his dirty dealings. Danilo doesn't like her attitude.
Perla thanks Memo for a lovely night. She has never gone dancing before. He tells her to make a list of things she has never done so they can do them together.
Norberto is rubbing the pillow that Juliana sleeps on when Manuel enters the bedroom. He says that Esteban and Cris are now back together again. Norberto doesn't care. Manuel points out that Esteban doesn't like him and will need his advice on what to do. Norberto says he doesn't have an idea at this time. His mother and Andres are accusing him of attempted murder. Manuel says he and German talked to their mother and asked she not press charges. Norberto doesn't think Juliana will go for that. She and Andres what him gone so they can be together. Manuel says Juliana just wants some peace. German is going to ask Andres to also drop the charges.
Esteban tells Cris that he loves her then spots a picture of Acacia. He looks at it and tells Cris that he desires her so much that he can't take it anymore. `
Ale takes a knife off of Danilo's nightstand while he is sleeping. She is about to stab him but stops herself. She points the knife to her heart but can't do it. She puts the knife back and Danilo wakes up. Seems he never was asleep at all. Ale says she can't do it. I am not like him. Better dead then to be like him.
Next day and Esteban wakes up and stares at Cris. He kisses her awake.
Ulises is still in solitary confinement when a guard comes in to take him somewhere else.
Esteban and Cris are getting ready for the day and he says just how beautiful she is. He loves her and wants to give her whatever she wants. He asks her what she wants to do for the day. Cris tells him that he doesn't have to be overly affectionate with her. She just wants him to be himself. He was to compensate her for all this time lost. She doesn't agree. It seems like he feels guilty and isn't acting like himself. He just wants to prove just how awful he feels for everything he put her through. She doesn't want a man to be with her out of guilt or that he owes her something. I want everything to be the way it use to be otherwise this will not work out. We can't pretend nothing happened. Esteban understands and appreciates her honesty. He wants to start from zero again. Cris says that can't happen but they can start to reconstruct their relationship little by little. Ulises is taken to a room and left alone. He steals a pencil and stapler while no one is looking. Hector walks in with good news. He has the results from the signature analysis. Arturo advises Carmen to seek out Andres and talk to him. Carmen wonders if Andres will want to talk to her after everything she told him. Of course he will says Arturo. Otherwise he would never have sent you that letter. Tell him how you feel.

He wants to be with her riding the hacienda like they use to. Cris says Acacia left with Rubio to monitor the hacienda so they could have the morning to themselves.
Ulises can't believe that Nuria is dead. So she must have been in the drug business. The guy that tries to kill me said it was because of the drugs. Hector says it's to difficult to find out who she was involved with but with his case it's a slam dunk. The kidnapping and forced drug cultivating cannot go unpunished. Hector agrees but wants to take things little by little. He wants Ulises to resume his life. Let the police handle the investigation but Ulises wants to prove to everyone that he was innocent of everything this whole time. I know you are thinking of Acacia says Hector. He gets up to go but she stops him. She wants him to go to the notary with her so that he can stop being the administrator of the hacienda.

Hector says it's to difficult to find out who she was involved with but with his case it's a slam dunk. The kidnapping and forced drug cultivating cannot go unpunished. Hector agrees but wants to take things little by little. He wants Ulises to resume his life. Let the police handle the investigation but Ulises wants to prove to everyone that he was innocent of everything this whole time. I know you are thinking of Acacia says Hector. Carmen told me everything that happened while you were being transferred. Ulises says she should have believed in me. Hector points out it's one thing proving you were not involved in the fraud. Another that you were never involved with Nuria.
Perla tells Julianita how wonderful Memo treats her. Ale comes up smiling and tells Perla that this is what she wanted her to learn. That she can have a better life if she chooses to. Perla gets angry with Ale's interruption and Danilo walks into the room. This is how he wants the girls to behave. He is happy with Perla and Julianita but is more so with Ale. She has such a good heart. Last night you earned more of my trust. But not too much. He requests the girls leave him alone with Perla.
Acacia is happy to see that Luisa wants to recoup their friendship. Luisa promises to try and get back to what they once where. What she doesn't understand is how Acacia could have treated Ulises badly. Isn't he the love of your life? I felt so betrayed and the only way to release this answer I have was to do what I did replies Acacia. Now I regret it. German comes flying into the kitchen to tell the girls that Nuria was killed yesterday. I don’t' know why but it seems she was killed so she wouldn't talk. Acacia starts crying and says Ulises told her this could happen to him if he recognized anyone from the kidnapping. They are going to kill him! Manuel comes in and tells her to calm down. If something were to happen to Ulises, I will never forgive myself says Acacia.
Danilo rubs lotion on Perla and tells her they are re-opening the brothel. Perla doesn't think it's a good idea. What if the police show up? Danilo doesn't think the police will be sniffing their way. Nuria is dead and Ulises will be soon.
Acacia hugs Manuel which makes Luisa upset. German pulls her out of the kitchen to avoid a scene. She wished she could forget Manuel like he has with Ale. Acacia apologizes for hugging Manuel. She knows how much he likes it and doesn't want to hurt him. Manuel doesn't like to see her suffer. She understands but doesn't want to keep hurting those that she loves. So you still love Ulises asks Manuel. You can't stop loving someone from one day to another says Acacia. Right now, I am worried that someone will hurt him. Manuel offers to accompany her to see Ulises but Acacia can't using him in her selfish ways. She will never forget everything he has done for her. Then she hugs him again after that stupid speech.
Cris brings Esteban his breakfast. Cris says last night at dinner, Danilo wanted to start up a business with you. Actually, he wants to the association to help him find better prices lies Esteban. She at first did not trust Danilo, but after last night has changed her mind. So have I replies Esteban. I am going to meet with him at the association to discuss. I'm running late as we speak. He gets up to go but she stops him. She wants him to go to the notary with her so that he can stop being the administrator of the hacienda.
Ale asks Perla why after all these years, she still defends Danilo. Why do you love him so much? I thought you were in love with Memo? I have a great time with Memo but know my place replies Perla. I already told you that Danilo helped me when no one else would. My stepfather abused me when I was a kid. I told my mother and she threw me out because I was stealing her man. After that, I was roaming the streets. I always found someone worse then another and they would always hit me. When I finally turned 15, I came across Danilo. He told me he would always protect me. And he has. I was always his favorite until you came along and stole him. He always abuses and exploits you. He doesn't value you. Perla laughs and says she's the last one that should be talking. Look at you sitting there. Aren't you married to him? By force replies Ale. Of course says Perla sarcastically. To save the man you love. I forgot about it. Everyone including you has a reason to be here.
Esteban is offended. Cris reminds him that they are starting again in everything. He agrees. He doesn't want her to think that he is with her because of the hacienda. I don't doubt you says Cris. I just don’t want to be in the same position I was when you left. He says he longer has any doubts that he wants to be with her. Cris thinks that it's better if they have someone else when it comes to the hacienda business. She and her daughter will be the new administrators of the hacienda. Esteban thinks it's a great idea. That way Acacia will be more comfortable. Because my daughter was hurt when you left the hacienda. What did she say he asks. She wasn't happy that we separated says Cris. I think this all effected her greatly. I think you will have to regain her love and trust. I love you but feel something in our relationship has changed. Perhaps replies Esteban. But the most important thing is that we are starting again.
Juliana is waiting in the lobby of the hotel for Andres. She runs up to him and is grateful that he is dropping the charges against Norberto. Andres says he's only doing it for German. She believes Norberto has finally learned his lesson. I would hope so replies Andres. I don't want him to abuse you again. Juliana smiles at this. Don’t worry about it. My attorney says by next week we should be divorced. Andres is glad to hear it. No one should live their life next to an abuser. Juliana says she still feels her jaw is swollen. She wants him to examine her. He grabs her jaw and Carmen comes into the lobby and sees this. She starts crying and walks out. Andres tells Juliana that the swelling will go down in a couple of days. She tells him that she regrets loosing a good man like him. Life has taught me a lesson. Divorcing Norberto will leave me penniless. I realize that money is not important but love.
Danilo realizes that they will have to be discreet when it comes to the new business he is starting with Esteban. He has come into some money and doesn't know if he should invest it in the cotton or something else. Esteban says he has a good business venture. He has contacts that will help him turn the cotton into table clothes and export it.
Rosa tells Cris how happy she is that Esteban returned. What did he say when you told him about the baby? Cris admits she hasn’t told him yet. Rosa urges her to do so. Acacia comes in and tells Cris that she is worried about Ulises. Just imagining what they can do to him. Cris reminds her that Ulises is no longer her problem. But he is replies Acacia. I feel horrible for what I did to him. I should at least tell him that. Cris will not allow her to visit Ulises in prison. Acacia wants to ask Hector to accompany her but Cris will not allow it. She suddenly grabs her stomach and says it's just nausea when Acacia becomes concerned. Cris again repeats to Acacia that she doesn't want her to visit Ulises in prison. Acacia agrees but wants to write Ulises a letter and have Hector deliver it. Cris doesn't think it's a good idea but Acacia insists. She asks if Cris has told Esteban about the baby. Cris shakes her head.
Danilo likes Esteban new business idea but would be more comfortable if he was the administrator. Let me know what you decide. Esteban agrees and they shake on it.
Carmen tells Arturo that every time she seeks out Andres, that woman is always around. He is still interested in her. Arturo feels bad and promises not to insist anymore that she see him. Knock on the door and it's Ulises. Hector says they have proof that Nuria falsified the documents. Carmen always knew Hector was an angel. Hector says Ulises is innocent that is why he is out of prison. Arturo wants to celebrate and Ulises just wants a bath first. Arturo is going to call Luisa but Ulises stops him. He doesn't want anyone to know that he is free.
Acacia has written her letter and holds the cross that Ulises gave her. There is a knock on her window and it's Ulises. What are you doing here she asks. Did you escape? I am free because as I told you, I am innocent replies Ulises. She goes to hug him and he pushes her away. He wants her to look at the proof. The love I had for you no longer exists. He leaves and she starts balling.
Manana: Cris tells Esteban they are having a baby.

Also making me smile this episode, all the time Este thought Cris was about to fess up that she's pregnant, and instead she dogged mentioning it (I just don't feel like drinking wine; Acacia and Rubio are riding the horses). I especially loved when he thought she was going to make the big announcement, and instead she asked that they go remove his admin rights over the hacienda. Ha!

Ale and the knife was a tense scene. She can neither kill him in cold blood, nor take her own life. He looked like a vampire, lying there in the dark. He certainly let Ale get very close with the knife. I guess he was pretty certain that she wouldn't murder him. I have no doubt that he left the knife there on purpose as a test.

Acacia shouldn't run from the hacienda. She should tell her mom what a creeper her husband is and have Cris run HIM off the hacienda. Then Cris can get on with her life, with her new baby and her new independence, and be happy (not worrying about poor baby Acacia and feeling guilty and worried about why Acacia left).
Acacia should tell her mother what happened between she and Esteban and throw him under the bus and that would settle things quickly. Cris would be hurt Acacia responded but could get over it. Ok, Acacia feels guilty, a confession would fix it quick; doesn't want Uli or anyone else to know, Cris wouldn't tell; it would drive Esteban away for good, she doesn't want that to happen.

I forgot to comment on the whole Carmen/Andres/Juliana thing. I think Carmen should be strong and confront Juli and be like "Get your hands off my man!". I do hope next time Juli won't be around to ruin everything so that Carmen can get her man back.
The conversation between Ale and Perla was interesting. If she doesn't already I think Perla will eventually sympathize with Ale. Even if Memo isn't "the one", and let's face it, he's no boyscout, I think having a man adore her and treat her well for the very first time in her life will open Perla's eyes to what Ale is saying about a better life and better men than Danilo.

I think if Dan gets caught, Memo will have to get caught also. Who knows if it's possible that he betrays Dan. I think it's obvious that Perla was truly traumatized by what happened to her so when Dan mistreated her that was the only thing she knew. She clearly wants to be loved.

Luisa just cannot get over her puppy love. Likewise, Hector and Cris fell in love when they were very young. There is something about your first love, young love that is hard to shake. do you remember your first love ? Do you still have a warm spot in your heart for him/her ?

Both Perla and Memo have been abused by Damnilo, and I think that either or both of them could turn against him. If that happens either or both might not survive. I think Drugdealing Johnny is in the show for a reason. I think he might be the force that finally sends Damnilo to his just reward.

Susanlynn, I didn't like Este's gazing at Aca's picture either when he was hugging Cris.
I have a tiny seed of suspicion that Cris might not love Este as much as she did before all the trouble started. In addition to her (well founded) suspicions all is not right, she did not seem at all inclined to tell him about the baby. I think that before, she would have been bursting to tell him but it seems now she will tell him out of necessity, not happiness.

Este's distant attitude, then his crazy attitude, and then his abandonment did a lot to kill the trust Cris has in Este. And once the trust is gone, the love is soon to follow. The only thing Cris has ever asked for/demanded is honesty. Alonso hiding the truth about their dire financial straights really wounded her. Now she feels like Este is hiding something from her, maybe even another woman, and she is RIGHT. I totally understand that her feelings for him have changed and her love is no longer as strong and unconditional.
I got a big kick out of Damnilo continuing Perla's manicure and then applying her eyeliner. Maybe he could become a makeup artist and give up his evil ways. The actor is a master at doing special little things to give his characters dimension. Remember how he used to comb his niece's hair when he played Uncke Pervie ? Damnilo is a natty dresser.nHe evidently thinks that wearing a three piece suit makes him a gentleman...ha.

Unlike so many of the other women in this tn who need a man (Juli), cling desperately to a man (Perla), chase after a man (Luisa), jump from one man to the next (Acacia), are so scared of being hurt by a man that they lash out first (Carmen), Cris is too confident, secure, and self-sufficient for that foolishness. It may hurt her deeply that her husband has lost that loving feeling, but she can carry on happily with her life. She doesn't need a man to define herself or to be happy.
I am cheering that Cris called Este on appearing to feel guilty. Cris is a smart cookie. Any ideas on how Cris will find out that Este killed Alonso ? I am still confused. Does Norb know that Cris killed Alonso ?

I stopped watching Gata because it was just getting to ridiculous. However, I surfed in the other night, and Marcelo Córdoba, mi telenovio, has joined the cast as a blind doctor. I am returning to the craziness just to see him.

I am utterly delighted that Uli dumped Acacia, but can it really be over so soon for these two? Sadly, I can picture Uli taking back a repentant Acacia. But I’m betting on Itzel to return to his life.
Color me confused. Maybe scenes were cut? Uli seemed to realize that someone had targeted him. I thought that was why he told his mom and Arturo not to tell anyone he’d been released. But then he shows up at Acacia’s balcony, and she’s sure to weep her tale of woe to everybody about how Uli cleared his name.
Esteban strikes me as knowing that Danilo is dirty. Looking forward to seeing his plan.

ITA Cris doesn’t feel the same as before about Este. He was genuinely in love with her before, now he’s a big phony gazing at a picture of Acacia as he’s about to get it on with Cris. I totally believe that Cris is sensing this phoniness, though she can’t put her finger on it yet.

Susanlynn- Yes, Dan's manicure and makeup skills were hilarious. Alberto Estrella really is wonderful at these little ad libs and character tics, even for his evil characters.
I did see that my telenovio Marcelo is now in La Gata. I caught a glimpse last night. I still couldn't get over the foolishness of the (lack of) plot and got up to do other things (after Marcelo's scene was done, of course).

Niecie- I just thought he wanted the element of surprise for when he got to Acacia's house. It's not like he can keep his release a secret from the people he knows are targeting him, since his attackers on the inside and the informants would surely be contacting the masterminds about his release.
Vivi..I am going to watch Gata again just to see Marcelo. Why has he never been cast as the galan ? He is so Goodlooking and such a good actor. I love to hear him talk because he makes Spanish sound so juicy. Is he originally from Argentina ?

Acacia is the aphrodisiac for Esteban, he's not sleeping with Cris and no wonder Cris feels something amiss. There's 3 in that bed.

Susanlynn- Yes, Marcelo is from Argentina, and there is just something about him that does it for me. Ay, papi! I think I'll start to record Gata and just fast-forward through everything except his scenes. :)
Cris knew something was amiss even before the lovemaking. She senses it in everything about his attitude.
Susanlynn & Vivi, Gata has gotten pretty lame, we're hanging in there primarily for the Caray camaraderie and plenty of fodder for play. Marcelo was a welcome surprise.
I am glad that we finally got Perla's backstory. Wow...I Have a hard time seeing Smarmy Dan as a rescuer which means that Perla was involved with people even worse than him. Yikes

Gee..that's a quick divorce. My daughter's took two long, painful years after which it would have been automatic even if her ex continued to refuse to sign the papers. Can people really get divorced that fast in Mexico ?

Right now my telenovio is Osvaldo de León aka Germán aka big sexy. I MIGHT even like him better than Zepeda and Levy. Maybe it's because he's younger than them and I don't mind that like Levy he's already a father.
