La Malquerida #86, 12/24/2014: Acacia Can’t Take the Heat, So She’s Fleeing the Kitchen

Mexico Episode #92

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all! Enjoy your day off (if you do have it off) and the recap.

Cris has just caught Acacia about to knock on Esteban’s hotel door. Acacia covers and says she’s there to get on Esteban’s case about the way he treated Ulises. Cris says she wants to also talk to him about this, and tells Acacia not to worry, she’ll handle it. She doesn’t want Este to get angry and rude with her too. Acacia rushes away and Cris knocks on the door. Este opens the door with a big smile on his face, obviously expecting the younger model. After Cris enters the room, Acacia skulks back and hovers outside the door.

Cris tries to reason with a crazy man. He’s still ticked off that she went against him and let Uli stay, even though she had given the original order that he be kept off the hacienda. Cris points out the obvious, that this was when they all thought he was a criminal. She thinks Este’s reaction was unjust and exaggerated. Even Acacia came to speak to him about it. Este gets nervous and agitated and looks around. “Acacia came with you?” Cris lets him know they ran into each other outside his door. Este looks dumbstruck. (Or just plain dumb. You take your pick)

Ale tries to call Ulises with the info about the drug shipment, and finds that there is a SIM card error. The john she stole the phone from has finally disconnected the phone. She worries about what she’s going to do now.

Esteban tries fake tears with Cris. He’s trying to help her and she continues to humiliate him. Cris says that wasn’t her intention and that she loves him. Este doesn’t think so, and asks what she prefers—love or power? Cris doesn’t know what the heck he’s talking about. “What does power have to do with our relationship?” Este says if she really loved him, she wouldn’t be disrespecting him and stripping him of his authority. He’s not willing to be treated like her peon, who she can order around. Cris responds, “I’ve never questioned your authority, just your attitude.” Este turns his back to her, pretending he’s choking back tears, all the while trying to keep from smiling, and says she just doesn’t understand him and it’s best that they end the conversation. Cris agrees: “You’re right that we’ve changed, because the man standing in front of me, I don’t recognize.” She leaves and Este looks pleased that he’s pushed Cris one step closer to filing for divorce. Downstairs, Acacia asks Cris how things went and she explains that Este is worse—he won’t see reason, and now says they are fighting for power. She has no idea what’s going on with him. She really thinks that now things are over between them. Acacia asks if she’s sure. Cris said she came with the best of intentions, but she’s also not going to put up with put downs. Acacia thinks this is the way that Este operates, but Cris says, not the Este she knew. Hector calls Cris, and she agrees to meet to give him the update.

In Uli’s office, Luisa is asking him and Arturo what else is going on with Ale that she doesn’t know about. Art motions for Uli not to say anything. Uli says it just hurts him to see Ale so sad. Luisa leaves to wait for Art outside, and Art tells Uli that he doesn’t want Luisa to get any upsetting news. Ulis asks if she’s sick or something, but Art denies it. He just thinks it’s not a good idea to spread his theories around, if he turns out to be wrong. Uli agrees, and if he’s right, he also doesn’t want to put more people in danger.

Acacia gets a desperate text from Esteban wondering where she is, just as she arrives at Ale’s prison house. She tells Ale that Uli is worried about her, sees the cut on Ale’s eyebrow, and flies into a rage at Danilo when he enters the room. She asks how he dared to hit Ale! Knowing that this won’t end well, Ale tries to cover, as Dan keeps a tight grip on her. They tell Acacia that Ale ran into a door, and Acacia buys its! Oldest excuse in the abused wife book!

Cris and Hector have coffee and chat about her conversation with Este. She says she couldn’t let him talk to her like that, and Hector agrees. Cris concedes that the love they once had no longer exists—at least not on Este’s part. Hector puts his hand on Cris’ and says she can’t wait around for Este to realize what a marvelous woman she is. Cris stares at his hand with a “don’t go there” look, until Hector removes his hand from hers. Hector asks if she doesn’t think she deserves to be with a man who doesn’t have so many doubts about wanting to be by her side? He also doesn’t trust Esteban. He feels like he’s hiding something. It’s just a perception he has. In addition, he doesn’t like, at all, the relationship Este has with Acacia.

Ale confirms to Acacia that she just LOVES being home ALL the time. Dan play acts like HE’S the one always pushing Ale to go out, but Ale refuses. He’s happy that Acacia came, because she can help convince Ale to go out. Dan is so happy that his little sister-in-law (cuñadita) cares so much about his wife. Since he’s about to go to the Association to meet with Esteban, he has a brilliant idea for an outing. The four of them can all have lunch together—Ale and Dan, and Acacia and Esteban! Both Ale and Acacia look like they’ve lost their appetite.

Cris wants to know what Hector means. He backs off a bit, and says he means that Cris should be the one spending more time with Acacia, not Este. It might make things worse in the end, if Acacia feels caught between the two of them. Cris is the one who should be giving Acacia her life lessons, not Este. Cris agrees. “Please, pay total attention to everything that has to do with your daughter. And don’t lose focus. You have to decide how you’re going to move forward.” Cris thanks him. She had doubts about speaking to him about this, considering how he feels about her. Hector says he’s always going to be on her side. He’s very clear about her feelings, and will deal with the consequences of continuing by her side.

Esteban sees Acacia walking down the hallway of the Association and chases after her into the main reception room. Dan sees Este following and hears him say to Acacia that he’s been trying to reach her all day. Then Dan hits paydirt when he sees Este grab Acacia into a passionate kiss, and she responds! Dan couldn’t be happier.

Juliana comes to Cris to whine. She cries and says she needs Cris, more than ever. Her world is falling apart; she’s alone; German hates her; Manuel won’t listen to her; and Norberto won’t have anything to do with her. Kind-hearted Cris takes pity on her, hugs her, and says she has her.

Acacia finally comes up for air and calls Esteloco crazy. She informs him that she came with Dan and Ale, as she tries to wipe the lipstick from his mouth. Ale arrives and Dan tells her to watch what she says, right before they enter the reception area. Este makes a lame attempt to pretend to be on the phone. They both look guilty as hell. The men go to talk in Este’s office, but Dan sees Manuel walking by and decides his eavesdropping work isn’t done. He goes back and hears Manuel, who rudely ignores Ale, brag about German’s art exhibition opening event on Saturday—he wants Acacia to go with him. Dan slinks away.

Cris tries to explain to Juli that German didn’t invite her because he doesn’t want her to make a scene with Carmen. “But his mother is ME! Does he think that because he’s changing his last name that his only parent is Andres?!” Cris thinks German will reconsider because he’s a good person. But he also has Juliana’s impulsiveness and passionate nature. She can’t blame him for being that way. Juli can’t believe he can forgive Norb, but not her, who has always been by his side supporting him. Cris says that’s exactly why he’s more hurt and disappointed in her. “Is there another reason why German is mad at you, that you’re not telling me?” Juli clams up.

Just to continue the torture of Ale, the next person to enter the Association waiting room is German. He replies sarcastically when he overhears Ale say how happy she is that German is finally getting to exhibit his work. “Are you happy that I’m fulfilling my dream, or that I’m going to have money like Danilo? Would that make you get back together with me?”

Esteban and Dan talk business for a bit. Dan says he will have the money next week. Dan then plays his hand. He tells Este that he now knows why he’s so eager to make money—for Acacia. Este plays dumb, then denies, denies, denies. But Dan reveals what he saw, even wiping the lipstick from Este’s mouth with his handkerchief. Suddenly, there is a distinct shift of power in the room—illustrated by Este getting up from his head honcho office chair to fret and pace, while Dan goes and sits down in the chair.  Dan says his lips are sealed and he understands Este perfectly—the desire to have a young lovely in his arms. Este wants to know what Dan wants.

German continues to be hurtful towards Ale. She’s NOT getting an invitation, but he has one for Acacia. He asks Manuel to send the invitations to the other members of the Association, and then leaves a teary Ale in his wake. Ale says to Acacia that it hurts her that he hates her so much. “If he only knew that I was doing all of this because…” She trails off and wishes him the best of luck. Acacia hugs Ale, and Manuel declares that he doesn’t understand women!

Juli denies that anything else has happened to make German ticked off at her. In that case, Cris thinks that German is exaggerating things if this is just about Andres. She wants to speak to him. Juli gets worried about what Cris will learn and tells her to just let him cool off on his own. Juli actually asks how Cris is doing. Cris says things with Este are going badly, but she doesn’t even feel like talking about it. Juli suggests a spa getaway for the two of them. (I’m sure she expects Cris to pay.) Cris has too much work to do right now to go away. Cris confirms that they are friends again, and Juli heartily thanks her with a hug that looks genuine.

Dan tells Este that he would NEVER stoop so low as to blackmail him. He just wants to be his friend and confidant. He knows when a man has got it bad for a woman. He doesn’t think Este has anything to feel guilty about. Love justifies everything. Este falls for it hook, line, and sinker. Dan is his new BFF. He’s relieved to be able to talk about it with someone. They are now friends and accomplices. They shake and hug on it.

The two dirty old men come to drag their young, nubile obsessions away from clueless Manuel, to go to lunch. Manuel is totally confused and goes to Norberto to complain. He’s annoyed that Esteban hovers over Acacia more than a father does. Norb isn’t worried. With Este out of Benavente, it will be easier for Manuel.

At lunch, Dan and Este laugh too much, while Este feels Acacia up under the table. Dan paws Ale as usual, while she plasters on a tight, fake smile. Este spirits Acacia away. Dan wants to know what else Ale told Acacia, other than he beat her, before he came into the living room. Ale swears that she didn’t tell Acacia that, and nothing else was discussed. He takes out his knife and scratches the stem of a carnation from the table setting with the blade. Ale points out what good it did her to go OUT to lunch, and Dan says they will continue their “discussion” at home. He then kisses her hand and says he wants them to have a happy marriage.

Cris and Elena talk about her forgiving Juli. Cris thinks they are both in similar circumstances- alone. Elena sets her straight. Cris has all of her family and friends. Cris agrees, but says that the emptiness Esteban has left can’t be filled by anyone else. Each time they try to fix things, they just get worse. Each time she feels he is more distant. Elena thinks that, where there’s a will, there’s a way. Elena wonders if it’s pride that’s keeping Cris from reconciling with Este. Cris says it’s dignity.

Este is scolding Acacia in the middle of town for not calling him. She wants to know if he understands how bad she felt running into her mother in front of his hotel room. “She may stop being your wife, but she will never stop being my mother.” (It’s about time that Acacia realized this!) She says this is the reason why their relationship is impossible.

Elena doesn’t see how Cris and Este hope to reconcile when they are living in separate places. Cris says that Este isn’t her only problem—there is Acacia too, who preferred to eat lunch with Esteban over having lunch with her. It’s just what Hector was saying to her today. She doesn’t want Acacia for feel caught in the middle. “Acacia is your daughter, and that’s a bond that lasts your whole lives. She’s always going to be on your side, before Esteban’s.”

Esteban says he’s making plans to move them to Mexico City, and tries to convince Acacia to live in the here and now. “Our relationship is different. You and I don’t go by what society dictates, but by what we feel.” Acacia agrees to take things day by day. Este says he knows she loves him—he sees it in her eyes and feels it in her kiss (but has never heard it from her mouth). He starts to kiss her, in broad daylight! But she pulls away and says she needs time to think. Don’t call me; I’ll call you.

Hector, Ulises, and German discuss the scuffle in the stables. Uli was pleasantly surprised by how Cris defended him. Hector and German aren’t surprised—Cris is awesome. But German can’t give an opinion of Este’s behavior since Este has always been good to him. (As long as you keep your distance from Acacia, German.) He thinks perhaps Este reacts so aggressively because he had to work so hard to win Acacia’s affection and to be seen by her as a father-figure. Hector makes it clear: “He is NOT her father. It would be better if he distanced himself from Acacia.”

Julianita reports to a depressed Perla that she’s given Estrella her meds, which have knocked her out. J-nita wonders if Perla is upset that Dan took Ale out, but she admits it’s because she misses Memo. She advises J-nita to protect herself from love. She perks up when Memo calls. They say how much they miss each other. He will be out of touch for a while as they get the shipment of the merchandise out. She asks him to be careful—she’s worried. Memo says it’s work, and he’ll earn a lot from it. Enough for them to go far away, where Dan can’t find them. She finally tells him that she loves him. He can’t believe she finally said it. She’s made him the happiest man in the world.

Acacia finally comes home, and Cris is waiting to talk. Rubio listens in. Cris says how hurt she is that Acacia preferred to eat lunch with Esteban, and didn’t even bother to come home all day after she knew how upset Cris was after her talk with Esteban. Acacia says she thought Cris’ coffee chat with Hector was enough consolation. Cris says it seems like what happens to her isn’t important to Acacia. Acacia goes to her default setting when faced with uncomfortable truths—tears. “If you want Esteban by your side, why do you treat him like this? Why do you treat him badly?!” She blames Cris for wanting her to bond with Este, but then wanting her to distance herself from him when she’s mad at him. Cris says all she wants is for Acacia to show her that she’s not alone in this. I nearly fall out of my seat when Acacia says this: “Believe me that I do nothing else but think of you. But now I’m getting tired of it.”

Perla scolds one of the girls as Dan and Ale arrive at the brothel. He’s happy to see Perla keeping the girls on a short leash, then he sends her up to check on Estrella. He then tells Ale that she’s lucky that he was in a good mood today, or else he wouldn’t be so understanding about Acacia accusing him of hitting her. Ale promises that she said nothing to Acacia. He chuckles about how her stupid little friend actually handed him a new opportunity today.

Cris doesn’t get Acacia. Last night she was saying she’s done with all men, and now she’s Esteban’s chief defender. What the heck is going on with her?! (Rosa pulls Rubio away.) Acacia cries some more, and says she’s just tired of all the fighting (like she’s a five year old seeing her parents fight for the first time). Cris takes her into her arms and tries to calm her down, and says “I just want you to be well.” Acacia tearfully apologizes for behaving so badly. Cris doesn’t want Acacia to suffer over her problems, or any other reason. “I’ll figure out how to fix my own life, and you have to do the same. Because your happiness can’t depend on anything more than yourself and your decisions.” Cris says that if Acacia needs to distance herself from all of them in order to be well, and go somewhere else for a while, then she should do it.

Rubio has just brought some crates into the kitchen for Rosa, and immediately calls Esteban to tell him about the Cris-Acacia fight. Acacia is going to need his shoulder to cry on.

Ale checks on Estrella and Perla comes in. She’s decided. She asks Ale to help her escape Dan, but she still refuses to take Estrella. Ale agrees to still help Perla and she will figure something else out with Estrella. Perla hugs her happily and leaves. Ale caresses Estrella’s arm, and tells her she’ll find a way to get her out.

The next morning, Cris sits German down for a talk, with Manuel watching. She reminds him how Juli supported his painting. It’s only fair that he invite her. German says that Cris doesn’t know all the reasons he’s mad at her, but Manuel pats his brother on the shoulder to make sure his baby-mama drama stays in the family. German says he prefers not to talk about it, and points instead to Juliana’s expected rudeness to Carmen. Cris thinks they can nip that in the bud by having a talk with Juli. Manuel agrees with Cris that German needs to forgive Juli and invite her.

Ale has just told Estrella how she came to work for Dan in his brothel, escaped, and came back because he has her loved ones under threat. Estrella worries that he’ll hurt her little bothers and Ale tries to calm her fears by saying that’s what she’s trying to avoid happening. Ale tells her to pretend that she’s still sick, although she’s getting better. Estrella says it’s better that she not take the medicine at all. She’d prefer to die than to do what that man wants her to do. Ale comforts her and they hug.

Acacia hands a surprised Rubio her suitcase to put in the truck. Esteban arrives and is just as shocked to see her packed and ready to go. He takes her hand, and she coldly snatches it away. He asks where she’s going, but before she can answer, Manuel bounds in asking if she’s ready to go. Esteban is not pleased.

Avances: Esteban is going crazy not knowing where Acacia is and wanting desperately to see her.

Vivi in DC! Yet another fantabulous recap! I really liked this: "Este looks dumbstruck. (Or just plain dumb. You take your pick)". I vote for Door Number 2. :)

I was fading in and out during the entire show, but made it through to the end.

Honestly and truly, does Cris REALLY love this jerk Esteban? Really?!

More and more, I want Acacia alone at the end. She's getting on my last nerve.

Your Christmas Eve recap is so very much appreciated, Vivi. As you said earlier today, isn't it wonderful that with all we are doing during the holiday, we still have our little place here to come and sit a spell and visit.

Thank you so much!

Fatima

Thank you so much Vivi! I appreciate your taking time from you celebrations to give us such a detailed recap.

Fatima- I haven't kept up with this show as the rest of you have and I think you all deserve kudos. I can't even stand to look at Acacia. My blood pressure went up last night. And this is petty on my part- but her holey Lejeans annoyed me last night.

But I have to give her props for that line to Este about how Cris will always be her mom.

Thank you Vivi double.

Great observation when Danny took Estebans seat and the power definitely shifted.

Esteban is creepy as Danny and just don't get it. He'd never be able to hold on to Acacia. Thought he was gonna blow as she prepared to leave with Manuel.

Know he's superman but Hector respects no boundaries and I don't like him.

Can't believe Cris would even listen to Juliana's crap.

Not sympathetic to Perla's plight nor Memo at all.

Vivi, what an amazing Christmas present! Again, I am in awe of your ability to capture the events in such intriguing fashion. Stunning.

Like our friend Fatima, I loved "Este looks dumbstruck. (Or just plain dumb. You take your pick"). But my favorite was "The two dirty old men come to drag their young, nubile obsessions away from clueless Manuel"...

You see everything with such stunning clarity: "Suddenly, there is a distinct shift of power in the room—illustrated by Este getting up from his head honcho office chair to fret and pace, while Dan goes and sits down in the chair". tofie and both enjoyed this - excellent! Este thinks he has a friend and ally - how very wrong he is.

It hurt my heart to see how dismissive Manuel was of Ale. As Ale smiled in obvious happiness that German finally had his show, German turned up and crushed her spirit in a terribly unwarranted way. Now, I love German but I felt I was really watching his mother's son in that scene. Even realizing he still loves Ale and is emotionally devastated, he struck out with what I felt was pointed cruelty. Painful.

I have to give Acacia credit for tearing into Danilo when she thought he had hurt Ale (and rightly so). Every now and then we see flashes of the person she could have been.

“She may stop being your wife, but she will never stop being my mother.” Little late for that don't you think??

And now the flip side: "Acacia says this: “Believe me that I do nothing else but think of you. But now I’m getting tired of it.” Sara, I was ripping when I read this - I think I've added several more lines to my face just from all the scowling I've done here.

"He feels like he’s hiding something. It’s just a perception he has. In addition, he doesn’t like, at all, the relationship Este has with Acacia" and "Acacia is your daughter, and that’s a bond that lasts your whole lives. She’s always going to be on your side, before Esteban’s.” Ahhh Hector. I like Hector's scenes with Uli and Arturo - Arturo is always a stalwart, supportive presence to everyone.

I had noted yesterday I had a grim foreboding about Memo. Perla's late declaration she loves him may be the kiss of death. No spoiler, just my opinion.

Vivi, thank you, thank you!

Diana

Oh wow! What a lovely Christmas gift, as I wait for Dad to finish cooking breakfast. Comments from Fatima, Tofie, Sara, and Diana. Thank you ladies. I hope you each have the day off (no matter what your religious/cultural background), and are getting much deserved rest.

Yes, Acacia paying lip service to being a good/thoughtful daughter, all the while doing the most treacherous thing a daughter could do to a mother, also caused me to get some more wrinkles. I understand why Cris is so confused. She's the one who is dealing with depression with known cause, but Acacia and Este are the ones acting crazy and schizophrenic with no known reason. They cry, they shout, they pout, they swing from loving to hateful within a few moments. When Cris finally learns the truth, it will be a huge lightbulb moment for her.

I also have the feeling that Memo and Perla are doomed. There is a lot set to happen Saturday, with the show and the drug shipment.

Diana- Yes, German was really cruel to Ale. I guess the fact that he is still so angry means that he still has feelings for her. Just wish he wouldn't be so mean about it. I thought it was interesting that Cris pointed out that German has Juli's passionate and impulsive nature. I totally see it!

It made me sad to see German so cruel to Ale. Every time I see that Danilo next to her, it literally makes me sick. He is so sick and so sickening to watch.

Fatima

Acacia still being a spoiled brat ?

What a great recap Vivi, and I too want to salute you for taking time out of your holiday activities to do such a fabulous recap.

I'm so glad the writers did the scene with Dani and Este showing not only a shift of power, but also putting them in the same bucket of scum. They made very clear as many of us have been saying here that Este is just another version of Dani, and now the sexual predator bond is complete. Obviously, two very damaged and probably abused men. How not? But they get no tea and sympathy from me.

I love Hector's laser insights and his tact. He knows exactly what's going on with Este and Ack, and so does Cris on some level that she can't let herself go to yet.

Gotta love the pre-feminist, stand by your man nonsense of Elena. Sigh.

I fear for Perla and Memo---and Ale if they escape. Dani is going to blow several gaskets.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everybody!

Thanks, Vivi. A superb recap. I’m so glad you covered some conversations in detail, like I didn’t catch that Estrella said she’d rather be dead. I know Ale will save that poor girl. I too loved The two dirty old men. Other faves:

Or just plain dumb [Este]. You take your pick.

Ale’s prison house

I’m sure she [Juliana] expects Cris to pay. -- lol

So Acacia finally realized she’ll have only one mother in this life. Acacia has gone too far for me to like her, but it seems she still can save herself in this story. She hasn’t boinked Este yet and it seems like she doesn’t intend to. But, why not? Because of loyalty to her mother? Harrumph. Or because her eyes are opening to how creepy and possessive Este is? Este fondling Acacia under the table during lunch with Danilo and Ale -- when he knows Acacia isn’t comfortable with her feelings for him in private much less public – was tacky tacky tacky. Shows he doesn't respect her feelings.

If Lizzy could see how angry and rude German was with Ale, she would know he’s still in love with Ale. I know German has had tough times of his own, but as an artist who can see inside Ale he should “see” she’s been sad since getting with Danilo.

How Este has fallen. In the beginning, he was horrified to think he was in the same perv category as Danilo. Now the two are all chummy. I can’t wait to see Danilo turn on Este.

Uli and Ale, hurry up and share notes.

The best line delivered last night was Manuel, his facial expression and delivery, he didn't understand women as Acacia and Ale hugged. He is his daddy incarnate.

I give German a pass, though he chose his words to cut. The woman he loves and he thought loved him, loved him up and promptly married another man. Not just some other man but an older creeper. He must be more than a little perplexed.

I rewatched the dinner with the two young chicks and two old creepers and it looked worse the second time around. Neither girl wanted to be there.

I just don't see how Cris will forgive and forget what Acacia has done. Sure Esteban worked his seduction but she was tricked into nothing. That's just an excuse.

I thought the wardrobe department did a great job when they put Damnilo in that black suit and shirt while dressing Este in a pale pink shirt...the little pink rabbit meets the big, bad wolf. Este has made a pact with the devil, and I think that on some level, he seems to know it, but he is too besotted with Ack to care. He looked very uncomfortable whenever Damnilo pulled him into one of his warm , icky embraces.

Ahh , Ack....The boys in high school had a term for girls like you...and ...it ended in the word "tease." She thought that Este would be satisfied with warm hugs, some spin the bottle for two, and games of catch me catch me. No, Estegone wants more, silly little girl. You stabbed your mother in the back for your dad's killer.

I agree that Memo and maybe Perla are doomed to Dans awful wrath.

Well, We are off to gifts and dinner at our daughter's. Merry Christmas to all.

Wow Vivi, 1:15AM how do you do it?
And up for Christmas breakfast, you're amazing.

Like the others have stated you wrote super lines with Este looks dumbstruck or just plain dumb--and
like the others, I vote for door #2 There's no doubt about it. Your best line though was the dirty old men and their young nubile obsessions. Acacia goes to her default setting when faced with uncomfortable truths--tears.
Was another great line. You had a lot of them Vivi and at 1:AM WOW!
You Rock!

Yes there definitely was a shift in power last night. Dan sits down behind the big desk. Este is on his way down but he doesn't know it yet.

I don't want to but I have to give DevilDan credit for the look he had on his face when he caught
dumb Este and Acacia with locked lips. You could actually see evil intent completely covering his face. I think that was a major turning point in the Malquerida story. The fish has been hooked and unlike Alejandra, he won't be able to wiggle free. Yep, it's door #2 dumbass.

Este will punch Ulises but would he dare punch out Norberto's son Manuel?

It's Christmas---Merry Christmas everyone. Novela's on Christmas? TV guide says yes.
the gringo

Vivi..a big thank you for taking time out oof your holiday to provide us with this excellent recap. Have a grea day.

I would just like to send out a HUGE thank you to all of my Caray mates here!

What a place we have here!

Fatima

DanEvil is set to loose the drug shipment and Perla at just about or close to the same time. Acacia is going away and Este knows not where. He's about to come unglued.
Dan will too. Oh my! What do we have ahead of us? Yes and one more thing---Estrella, Dan's new big deal will never work as Dan intends. I can't wait to see this guy fall as his world crashes all around him. I just hope that he doesn't take his misfortune out on Ale.
the gringo

Thanks for dropping in Susanlynn, Gringo, Niecie, Steve, and Dona Gringuita! I hope you are all enjoying the day. :)

There are just so many things that can go haywire if this drug deal blows up (which Ale is trying to ensure). Not just with Dan, his biz, Perla and Memo and their plans, but all with Esteban and his plans. I can't wait for the fallout, but hope no innocent people are hurt in the process.

The art show looks like it's also a great opportunity for drama, with most of our characters in one place.

Can't help the sense of foreboding every time Ale is on screen. How in the world can she save Estrella and not be hurt in the process. If Perla leaves soon the place will be on lock down.

I see Esteban now grasping at straws and how Acacia has gone all squirrely and forgot they have been doing this dance for a long time. Rewatched some earlier shows and the girl was practically panting after the guy. Now he's available and she's run off. Fantasy lust is quite different.

What wonderful comments today. I enjoyed them all but I have to say that "I thought the wardrobe department did a great job when they put Damnilo in that black suit and shirt while dressing Este in a pale pink shirt...the little pink rabbit meets the big, bad wolf" was wonderfully insightful and wry.

Thanks Susanlynn.

Diana

I think Memo is doomed as well.

I keep thinking though that if Dan does do away with him, it might be the catalyst that makes Perla stay and try to bring Danilo down.

This will be very interesting.

Diana

Merry Christmas, everyone! Hope you all are having a wonderful day.

I haven't watched the episode yet but I enjoyed this recap very much! I recorded it so I'll probably be able to watch it in a little bit. I was surprised Uni wasn't airing some kind of Christmas themed show or special instead of the TNs.

I had previously seen a little of the scene with Germán and Ale. It's obvious he still loves her. Even if he is eventually able to tell Lizzy he loves her it'll be a different love. I think his love for Ale is stronger. When he finds out the truth he may be on his knees asking Ale for forgiveness.

I'll be back after I've watched the full episode.

Diana, I had the same thoughts about Perla, but I fear (absolutely NO spoiler) that she could go down in her attempts to bring Danilo down.

Fatima

Susanlynn---You are usually the most critical about the way too sexy attire that is worn by the ladies on the show. Usually it is Acacia but Tuesday night it was the lady that works for Hector who was wearing a form fitting bodysuit. Did you happen to see Sophia in Hasta El Fin? She has been wearing a tight outfit that was pretty much the same. It was also in red. Is Televisa starting a new fashion trend I wonder?
the gringo

TF, ITA. I think German really cares about Lizzy. She offers the stability and "normalcy" he craves. But it is Ale he truly loves.

Diana

Fatima, you may well be right.

I don't see hope for Perla's longevity but I hope that she is able to contribute to Danilo's demise before anything happens.

Hi TF! Looking forward to your thoughts after you've see the episode. I agree that even as German's feelings for Lizzy grow, it won't reach the depth of what he feels for Ale.

German make like that Lizzy is normal and drama free, but he's not normal or drama free and his family certainly isn't.

Gringo- Indeed, Sofia on Hasta has been sporting some very sexy work wear, including many versions of the bright, solid colored, tight jumpsuit.

Hi Vivi! Your comment is good timing! I just finished watching the episode :)

I agree with you and Niecie that German's attitude showed he still cares about Ale. Lizzy is a great girl and yes German is seeking normalcy but like I said previously he should follow his heart.

Este is trying really hard to push Cris away and make her give up on their marriage just as he has. Its not a surprise that he's mad that Cris did a 180 with Ulises. Although he has yet to crack, I think it's inevitable.

Even if Dan doesn't betray Este (I'd be surprised if he doesn't), he does have the ammo to do so. He could easily run to Cris if he wanted to. Maybe Cris wouldn't even him believe him either. I hope Hector succeeds in opening her eyes to everything that is going on.

I wasn't sure whether or not to believe Juliana's change of attitude. Hopefully she won't hurt Cris again. If she goes to the exhibition it'll be one heck of a
drama filled event. I wonder what Germán will decide.

Symbolism---Some people communicate in secret with the use of symbolism. Without saying a word, symbolism can send a strong message. I keep thinking about the exchange of positions behind the desk. To me, that was strong symbolism. Este has been moved out from a seat of power and DevilDan has filled the seat.
Este may not realize it yet but he is stepping into deep and dangerous water. Things are starting to move fast now. I am dying to find out how the dark side is brought down but like waiting for the Super Bowl, the build up is so exciting but when it is all over, there always is a feeling of emptiness. For me, it will be the same when LM ends.

TF- Juli really did seem to need that hug Cris gave her and seemed to appreciate. She probably realizes that Cris is the only person she can rely on when the chips are down. I don't believe this makes her any less of a selfish person. It was telling that Cris did not confide her own troubles to Juli. I think she's quite willing to support her and be a listening ear, but I don't think she trust Juli as she used to. If she knew how callously Juli spoke about her losing her baby, she'd be done with her for good.

gringo, I understand that feeling of emptiness when a good show ends. Part of that is losing the characters and the other part is losing our conversations. The one good thing is that I know I can find my friends here commenting on other TNS. I may not comment, but just reading everyone's words takes away the emptiness.
