Mi corazon es tuyo #111 The reunion is here!!! and it is more emotional and joyful than anyone could have imagined... Also, Edith runs right into her nightmares from the past
Fernando summons Nico to accompany him to fulfill a dream that has waited more than 30 yrs.
Ana is trying on the gray vertical dress… the girls say it’s a bit old style and too serious. Ana suggests to go to Ecatepec. Fanny says no time for that. Have to shop here.
Luz says she has to look ‘chula’.
Ana asks about Sarai. She has her sort of overly mature scene with Sebas. He is chosing songs for an event.
Nando on phone with the people from the sound system for an outdoor area about 500 m2.
The girls love Ana’s dress… They say Ana looks like a princess.
Fernando presents Nico to Soledad and Angel. Fernando says everything is rolling well. Fernando hands dress to Soledad saying wants Ana to see where she gets her beauty from. Sole is still afraid Ana will reject her. Fer says no way, she is too generous and loving … she has waited all her life for this… all she wants to do is hug her. Soledad is moved.
Lo Nuevo:
The backyard at the Lasc mansion is being converted to a big production set as if this were a wedding instead of an encounter between Ana and her mom. Johnny and Edna are directing all the folks moving plants and stuff around.
Bruno is rehearsing his speech. But he can’t stop himself from stuttering, even when he has marbles in his mouth. He is using marbles instead of guijaros (small pebbles) as famous singers from medieval times used. He realizes its too dangerous. He tries holding a pencil with his teeth, and that doesn’t seem to help either.
Sebas is letting Sarai listen (on his headphones) to some songs he has picked out. She likes it.
Nando brings the audio/lighting guys.
At Angel’s Fernando is talking to Fanny on phone. He is worried Ana will see all the stuff ahead of time. Has Ana asked about it? Ana thinks it is a sort of date with him. Fanny asks about Soledad.. Fanny is excited about how Ana looks, she will do her makeup when they get to the house.
Fanny promises Ana she won’t regret going along with this… Ana gets excited. Soledad looks great in her formal dress. It is black with some bling in the curved neckline and the shoulders are mid shoulder.
Fanny is doing Ana’s makeup in Ana’s room. Jennifer is there. All Ana knows is that it has something to do with Fer.
Luz, the twins and Alicia are setting up the name Ana with petals on the yard. The kids one by one think of how excited Ana will be. Nando is also there thinking of how to value a mother when you have her around.
Fanny brings Ana out with a blindfold… Fanny and Fernando also think of how happy this will make Ana. Fernando thinks ‘you will be happy and that will make me happy. I love you’.
Soledad looks at the picture of baby Ana in her pendant… she is really emotional about the upcoming moment. Angel is smiling beside her. Ana has Fanny, Alicia and Luz beside her, she is also smiling in anticipation.
There are neon lights bouncing on white fabric… it looks real nice. Everyone is checking in with each other with walkie-talkies. Ready?... Ready!... Fernando is standing by Soledad and the twins. Seems the twins will escort Soledad in. Fernando asks Bruno to bring the ‘magic object’. Soledad asks what it is. Fernando says ‘don’t worry, you will know how to use it.’
The music begins. Fernando speaks to Ana, but she can’t see him so she gets really ansy.
F: Ana Leal… (Present, Don Fernando!) In this time since we met you, you have won over our hearts. (Ana walks with Luz and Alicia) That is why the Lasc family and your friends have gathered to give you a wonderful present. (Ana sees her name in lights… Luz and Alicia leave her alone) This present you have waited more than 12,000 days for, more than 300,000 hours… and this is with all our love … for you.
Soledad begins to sing and play the guitar… Ana is frozen speechless… she still can’t see Soledad but is crying openly already…
Suddenly from behind the panel the twins come out and Soledad behind them, playing and singing.
Soledad hands the guitar to one of the twins and continues walking…
We see Ana walking as well, and suddenly it is the 2 year old Ana with the same Ana is wearing… back to grown up Ana… still crying hard. Ana looks over to the Lasc, specifically Fernando, who can’t hide his pride and joy…
Soledad opens her pendant to show Ana her picture…
Fernando hands over his phone to Bruno to take video…
Soledad opens her arms/hands in front of her to welcome Ana to her embrace…
The Lasc family begins to walk toward them… all of them with joyful smiles in their faces.
Soledad: ‘My daughter!!... my daughter!!’ Finally Ana and Soledad get lost in each other’s embrace…
All the Lasc children are crying of happiness. The friends (Johnny, Bruno, et al) begin to applaud. Even Angel has teary eyes and a smile in his face.
Ana and Soledad join foreheads and continue smiling as they are so close…
Ana and Soledad finally separate again…
Sol: My daughter! Blessed be God!! Please forgive me..
A: The important thing is that you are here.. I have searched for you all my life.
S: Me too, dear. Now we are finally together… for ever!! For ever!! You have no idea how I missed you!!
A: You don’t know how I missed you!! I can’t believe you are here… I can’t…
S: I went to the ‘home’…
A: I know. I just want to look at you and believe it is true… IS it you, mom?
S: It is me, your mom.
A: You are so beautiful! (they embrace again.. the Lasc and Jennifer slowly approach to embrace Ana and Soledad.)
At Isa’s apt, Ramona is giving YoMama a massage. YoMama tells her about the massages Bruno used to give her. She was trying to get him to notice her but he was interested in the cook. Yomama blames Isa for them having to move out. YoMama calls Isa ‘bitter woman’. She does not hang on her past mistakes… Isa says she owes Yolanda being depressed and pathetic. Isa says YoMama has never loved her truly or been a real mother to her. (ouch!) Isa is decided to kick her out of her apt soon. Isa leaves and YoMama begins to cry hard. Ramona tries to console her. YoMama says Isa is willing to kick her to the curb. Ramona says then I will take you to my town…
All the party has moved to the Lasc living room. Ana’s dress without the cape looks absolutely beautiful. Fanny and Ana are whispering to each other that Soledad and Ana's eyes and eyelashes are so similar... (basically Ana is looking for ways to reassure herself that this time she HAS INDEED found her mother). Ana and Soledad tell each other they are beautiful. Ana explains she is the nanny in the house. Fernando explains to Soledad that the lady in the painting is Fanny Sr, the mother of the kids. Ana presents Nico (already met her)… Ana introduces all the kids one by one. Once Ana mentions that Fanny is the older of the 7, Siete barks... and Ana has to tell her mom that he is part of the family too... Soledad comments that he was just responding to Ana saying his name. Fanny tells Soledad how much Ana was dreaming of the moment she had her mother again.
Leon arrives back home to Mau having some kind of pbj sandwich… Mau is in Pj’s ready for bed. Marga asks Leon if he will go to bed, nope he has to work on his thesis. But first he can have some dinner.
Back to the Lasc… it is Nando’s turn to meet Soledad. Ana explains to Soledad that Nando and Fernando were the ones responsible for the web page looking for her. Soledad very grateful.
In some cafeteria, Edith is remembering the kiss with Nando and her reaction afterwards. She is crying. And she remembers Fanny telling her none of what happened to her is her fault. Suddenly she sees someone she recognizes… and gets scared. The guy seems a bit older, he calls her ‘little sis’ so I assume this is one of her step brothers. He says she looks great… she stands up and tells him she hates him as she slaps him and runs out.
IT is Alicia’s turn to meet Soledad. Alicia says she knows what its like not to have a mom, so she is grateful she has Ana who is like a mom to her.
Then it is Sebastian’s turn… Soledad even starts dancing the twist with Sebas. Even Fernando is amused enough to start clapping. Sebas asks about hip-hop. She is willing to learn even if she does not know that genre now. Sebas says since we love Ana so much we also love you.
Edith calls Nando on cell, he announces it is her… and then walks into the library to talk alone. He notices she is scared. She asks for them to meet. He offers to go meet her somewhere, she says no I will go over there… After hanging up Edith tells herself that Nando has gone through enough with Ximena… this story must have a happy ending… she coaches herself to calm down.
IT is the twins turn… The twins are so excited that Ana has to reassure them this time she has the right mom. then they yell YEY!!! FINALLY!!! ... Soledad comments that the twins look like her.
Finally it is Luz’s turn… Luz asks if she can call Soledad ‘abuela’. Soledad prefers ‘abuelita’ since it sounds ‘younger’. Luz tells Ana now she will also have someone to read stories to her. Luz asks Soledad if she will pray with Ana, will pull the covers to her and tell her good nite. Soledad says of course. Will also fill her with ‘tronado’ kisses.
Leon has fallen asleep working and is dreaming that he and Fanny are getting married, and that none other than Mau is the minister marrying them. (did he say Leon could kiss the new mom?) In the dream Marga comes over to them saying he has fallen asleep, he begs for another 5 min… (back to reality)… He laughs it off. Marga asks why he is laughing. He tells her. She loves seeing him so happy.
Edith arrives at Lasc… Tells her she ran into her step brother. Fanny gets scared for her and hugs her.
Fanny takes Edith upstairs. Nando tries to ask what is going on but she signals ‘later’.
Soledad is explaining to Ana that she used to care for Angel. We see Fernando sighing seriously, almost uncomfortable every time Soledad and Ana talk about Angel (jealousy bite, Fernando? how does it taste??) Ana comments that she and Soledad are ‘nannies, we have it in the blood and in synergy!!’. Angel gets a good giggle out of it. Soledad explains that years later Angel found out what happened to Soledad and went looking for her in the jail.
Edith tells Fanny it had been about 5 years since she saw him. Fanny asks if he did something to her. Edith says no, she just went into panic mode, she couldn’t even move. He came close to her and started making passes at her… Fanny gives her a support embrace. You are alright here. Don’t worry.
Luz is telling the family about Angel’s magic tricks… Angel asks if someone has a money bill. Fernando is volunteered to offer one. Angel makes it disappear. Angel too mixes up the twin boys names… the money reappears in Alex’s pocket. Angel asks them to return the money to dad. The boys want to keep the money now. Fernando says ok but you save it.
Fanny is angry at what Edith’s step brother told her. That mad guy should be in jail. Edith says she slapped him hard. Fanny says you should accuse him even if so much time has passed. Their felony is always unpunished because we blame ourselves or keep quiet. But you have to come forward with it. All abuse has to be reported.
Jennifer is talking to Soledad, she says she knows Ana has been looking for her forever. Jen is a bit upset about her own messes with Nico so she excuses herself away to the kitchen. Soledad asks what is wrong with her. Ana explains about her issues with Nico.
Edith says she ran and ran until she was exhausted. Then she called Nando. She doesn’t want to bother him with her issues. Fanny says Nando cares about you. Edith does not feel ready to tell him about her story … their relationship is just beginning and she does not want to add more conflict. Fanny again embraces her.
Johnny and Jen in kitchen… He is babbling about some meds he uses… and about Edna and how he feels like helping her. Jen tells him Nico said he doesn’t love her. Johnny approaches her. He tells her she is the most important in his life. He would like to cut her sorrows out of her body. He offers any help that could mitigate her pain.
Soledad asks Ana if Fernando is in love with her. I think so… SO the boss fell for the nanny. What about you? Do you love Fernando? … I love that man with all my soul. (Soledad gets excited… Fer is nearby but it is not clear if he heard her). Fer and Ana smile at each other… then look at each other with desire. She blinks her eyes at him. (Meanwhile Soledad is looking at how they stare at each other and nodding with her face… ‘yup, this is love’)
Previews: No previews?? Buaaaaaaaa!!!
Labels: mcet
-After Soledad met the twins outside, I was hoping she would say their names and be able to tell them apart during the introductions in the living room...
-Ramona must be a saint.
-Johnny, Jenny's way out of your league, you're not helping her.
However, based on the few exchanges between Soledad and the others, it's my guess that we finally have another character capable of telling Isabruja to 'shove' it. I think Soledad will add a lot of character.
I wish we could somehow make a petition to the producers and writers to get rid of Johnny, especially now that they seem to want to pair him up with or force him on (more aptly said) Jens. Why not Dana or Edna; it's not like there aren't enough girls to go around on this show?
I know! Pair Johnny and Isabruja. !!!
Good reunion even if over the top. Still cried. Even my mom, who has now seen three epis, cried.
But I kept waiting for Ana to thank Fer, one on one, with a big kiss but of course didn't happen.
Why no previews? Is the show on tomorrow? And what abt Xmas? My mom doesn't have dvr so makes watching a wee bit difficult.
I loved:
The kids reflecting on their relationship with Ana and having a mother.
León's dream of marrying Fanny.
Fanny trying to talk Edith into reporting the abuse she suffered by her stepbrother.
Ana and her mother both having silvery sparkly bling on their dresses: Ana all over hers and her mom along the neckline.
Fun and enjoyable episode.

Well you lucked out and got to recap the big reunion! You did not leave out a single important detail, thanks so much for covering it and so quickly.
I cringed a bit because the reunion was like a stage production, including applause. Agree with other commenters this seemed a bit intrusive, but Ana seemed happy so I guess it was all good.
We saw no mention about the show being preempted on Christmas Eve but I'd be surprised if they air on the 24 or 25th.

I think the scene between Ramona and Yolanda was more touching than the far-too-public reunion between Ana and Soledad. This over the top sucking all of the emotion out of what should be a touching scene is a relatively recent conceit in these telenovelas. They do this with love scenes - you know, the flower petals and/or candles leading up to the bed etc. Spontaneity is more interesting, no?

Despite that Ana and Soledad were OK with it, I'm still of the opinion that the reunion should have happened in a church (I know, a cliche) or in the parlour at the mansion while the kids were in school and everyone else hung out in the kitchen or the library.
What I do think is that because Fernando is in love with Ana he wanted to present her to Soledad as a queen. She may be the nanny, but to all intent and purposes she is his children's mother. She also is the queen of his heart and he felt she deserved to be presented as such. This also obviously appealed to the kids and their participation in all this shows that this is a united, stable, loving family. The twins even call Soledad "Abuelita."
Of course, in true novela fashion, there is a cliff somewhere in the near future and Isabruja will be responsible for the lack of a "Detour" sign.
Yep, that whole reunion was way over the top, but like I said yesterday, this seems to be how Ana likes to do things, so Fer just took a page from her own book.
I was ok until the moment Ana shrunk to toddler Ana in the same dress then it was sniffles galore. I had a similar moment with my boys yesterday home for the holidays. Took them to lunch and they started good naturedly bickering and picking on each other and I suddenly saw them as 5 year olds doing the same. Just told them my sinus were acting up when they saw me bringing out the Kleenex.
The comments by the kids were sweet, but all the eye staring at the end, can't help but feel that is the harbinger of doom for Fer and Ana. Things are too good right now, but she has her mom now.
I would LOVE to see Ramona take Yomama back to the 'hood and take her back to her roots. That should start her redemption arc.
Love the mayo commercial mid-show. But at least Leon looked a little more professional in dress and hair. But the dream---why is your son the priest? That was slightly creepy.
Yep--Jen and Johny...here we go. ARGH! Edith--lord breaking my heart. Actress is doing wonders with this. Fanny is being a great support. Maybe she can talk Edith into seeing someone to talk this through? That would be a good PSA too.
A very busy day today as Christmas Eve is our big gathering. Already have my NORAD Santa tracker going (nephews love it--but hey, me too!) and cookies are next.
Want to wish everyone here a joyous holiday!!

Doesn't bother me the production, it is all Ana and the kids are hers now and the kids needed to meet grandma. What's missing is a relationship between Ana and their father. Now Soledad knows Ana loves Fernando but there seemed again to be a big "but" on Ana's lips. I don't want the big blow up I know is gonna happen. How will the kids handle it? How will I handle it? If the new man in Ana's life is Angel, what counsel does Soledad give him?
Soledad knows that Ana loves Fernando and she can see that Fernando loves Ana. She has also seen what his ex is like. We all know that they haven't seen the last of her. She will cause more trouble for them.
Ana needs to tell her mother about Chicago. I'm sure Soledad will have some interesting advice. If Fernando can handle a future suegra who did time for murder there should be no big deal about the pole dancing. It's not as though Ana wouldn't have some kind of a past.
I enjoyed most Ana introducing the kids to Soledad, focusing in on what was special about each one. The over-the-top and far from intimate reunion made sense in terms of the love that this gang has for Ana, even if something more private would have been more appropriate.
Soledad complements Ana so well. She is dignified, refined, seemingly wise. I, too, would like to hear her thoughts on the Chicago dilemma. It will be interesting to see where she takes up residence.
The situation with Edith is serious and she needs professional support and assistance. I hope that they manage this PSA well, as it is an important problem.
Merry Christmas to all who are celebrating tonight and tomorrow. And thanks again to our talented and generous recappers.
I absolutely ADORE the way Jorge is portraying his love for Anna with his looks from his beautiful eyes. Elizabeth Alvarez, you lucky dog you!
I want to take home Luz, the twins, and Siete. I love them!
Fatima
I too saw that they seem to plan to show MCET both tonight and tomorrow.
I added a few details here and there i caught during rewatching the episode just now. like Siete barking at hearing his mane and Fanny and Ana commenting Soledad has her eyes and eyelashes (or Ana has Soledad's).
and yes, I loved the fact that Ana had something special to say about each kid.
I also liked that Ana said such nice things about each child as she introduced them. And Fernando's look at Ana near the end had me swooning, oh boy. That man is something else.
Was I the only one who kept bracing herself hoping that Edith didn't get any of that black eye makeup on Fanny's white fur every time they hugged?
So episodes still are running next two days...guess I'll be doing a Friday marathon since I have off.

The longer the pole dancing secret stays a secret and more things happen in between, including Fer loosening up, the more ridiculous it's going to be when Fer finally finds out and goes ballistic--if it's the pole dancing that bothers him. However, as others have pointed out, it might not be the actual dancing that Fer gets bent about, but the keeping of the secret from him when practically everybody else knows.
Hope everyone has a happy, safe holiday.
Nanette
Fernando, is an open book, she knows everything and that he is sincerely sorry for his bad decision and owns up to it and defends her when Isabela attacks. Ana's ex bf works for him, her best friend was welcomed, she dated his brother and helped bring she and her mother together and hasn't tried to make anything about him. The least she could do is be honest with him. If she doesn't want to be with him, tell him that too. Instead she wants to live in this big house, enjoy the love of this family, bring her friends into the circle and keep the man that is paying for everything and makes it happen outside.
I looked up the writing credits, wondering whether this had any writers from Un Refugio para el Amor, but it doesn't. However, we can probably count on the revelation happening in the worst possible way at the worst possible time.
What I don't want to see is it happening after Ana and Fernando finally have relations and she gets pregnant but hasn't told him yet. We all know how that one typically plays out.
The reunion itself was lovely. Finally, they are together again.
However, the giant theatrical production of it did nothing for me. Too much. It didn't need all that distraction. I like heartfelt and spontaneous scenes better. Like with the romantic scenes, the more candles, flowers, etc., the less I like it. I guess to me, formality and scripting are enemies of passion and other emotions.
But now that's over and they can get down to getting to know each other.
Also also, I think the director should be smacked for ruining the lovely shots of Ana and Soledad embracing with uggo Johnny lurking in the background. And as a penalty, should not be allowed to use Johnny in any scenes anywhere for at least thirty episodes. Please, no forcing him on Jennys. She has suffered enough.
Poor Edith. I wonder if we will get a storyline showing why victims are often so reluctant to press charges. I'd love to see that skunk taken down, but it could be really traumatic for her, especially since she'd have a hard time proving it.
How could you miss that ugly mug and like they stuck him there purposefully.
It would be just too funny if Isa planned this great BIG take down of Ana at Chicago in front of Fernando, and he just laughs it off, saying "of course I knew about her pole dancing, I'm her Number 1 fan!"
Sylvia Navarro is not typically cast as a "poor little me" heroine, so it could be that she tells Fernando and he will accept it and stand with her.
However, he would go to Doroteo to free her from him, even if it means going to court.
I would have preferred a lighter touch for the actual reunion but would have been OK with a big celebration at a later date.
Julia,
While I completely agree with you about the theatricality of the reunion, I must admit that I've become fond of (and in fact have come to expect)the candles, rose petals, Champagne, and especially the the chocolate-dipped strawberries for first time sex in TNs.
Fernando's first boink with Isabela followed only a few shots of Scotch and look how well that worked out.
Carlos
Misted up all over again. It was, well------very telenovela. If I were Ana, I would have thought it was a proposal.
Fernando is perfect, can size up a woman & buy the perfect dress, dream on.
Angel & Jenny por favor
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrUsrKq4AZI
When Soledad was fussing with the top of her dress, it seemed to me she was thinking "You forgot to buy a strapless bra to go with this, Fer, you doofus."
Have to wrap the gifts I'm taking to a friend's place tomorrow. Made my infamous Grasshopper Pie this afternoon to take with me tomorrow. Still have to get some fresh Italian bread first thing.
I like your theory that Fernando will brush it off... and that might be the 'current' Fernando's reaction to the truth if it was just that, that he learns Ana works at Chicago as pole dancer.
but like we have been noting lately, it won't be the truth that sets him off into stratosphere, but the fact that pretty much everyone he loves were in on the 'secret' even Fanny. Does Nando know?
Anyway, Fanny, Nico, Diego, Johnny, Jen and possibly Bruno and Nando were in on not considering Fernando reasonable enough to handle that pill... THAT is what is going to set him off... and of course if he learns the 'secret' from a very exaggerated delivery from Isa it will be like injecting air on that pillow, making it harder to swallow.
and yes, the timing will be awful too... i would not doubt it will be after Fernando and Ana are intimate. He might even assume the baby could be Angel's.
I do like the thought of Angel and Jenny ending together if Nico is no longer around.
