Random thoughts:
Best comment of the night: Ana telling Fernando that by meeting Pablo they would see " en que lado masca la iguana" (on what side the iguana chews).
I liked Yolanda telling Isabel that if she wore maternity clothes at least peolpe would know why she looked like a "tinaco" (water tank). She always puts things in such colorful ways.
Now that León is out of a job, Beatriz is done patting him on the leg, and Edna didn't pass the cooking test, maybe León should be the new cook.
Fernando did a a half of a call out to us: he actually said "Caray".
Poor Pablo! He suffered through the twins, Ana and Fernando just to be told he and Alicia would not be seeing each other again. Hardly seemed like the appropriate punishment at this point. In spite of all that, Ana was annoying trying to direct his conversation with Alicia and Pablo.
Too much Lenin.
I love the possibilities with the twins and the handcuffs.

Corazón Salvaje 1993
With permission, I would like to post this comment for maximum response and for approval to rate CS 1993 as more highly recommended than the rating of 2.0 on the table, “Recommended Telenovelas”. I need a minimum of eight positive responses with a rating recommendation in order to modify CS 1993's current rating of 2.0.
Because so many of you recommended the 1993 version to me during discussions for LQLVMR and MCET, I decided to watch this version for my next telenovela. I just finished watching it and admit that, once I started watching the novela on YouTube, I only stopped once for several hours of sleep because this version was so enthralling.
To me, the 1993 version of Corazon Salvaje is the quintessential telenovela. It has all the components that make a truly perfect telenovela. Just a very few of my limited comments/thoughts:
1.) The story unfolds in less than 100 episodes (here in 80 episodes).
2.) The story is concise, true to the main narrative of the plot.
3.) There aren’t parallel, silly or otherwise, side storylines being told that just make for filler material.
4.) Here the main storyline is about the protagonists (Edith González and the late Eduardo Palomo), and the few side storylines perfectly integrate with the main protagonists and their story.
5.) The plot doesn’t waste our intelligence or time with stupid, impossible, and ridiculously unbelievable happenings (e.g., ESP, girl gets pregnant after “one” and only one time, witch potions, child kidnappings, etc., etc.)
6.) The “love” story between the main characters doesn’t “knock you over the head”; instead it unfolds with a believable background or history (same as with CS 2008).
7.) The antagonist(s), while being mean isn’t (aren’t) necessarily evil, vicious, despicable, or cruel; just appalling nasty (i.e., Ana Colchero as Aimée).
8.) The main characters aren’t your typical novela actors with gorgeously stunning looks, bodies, clothes, etc.
9.) The unassuming, modest scenery of this novela is actually very elegant and credible for the locale and era in which the story is set. Only the numerous staircases of the buildings and interiors of the structures (especially the numerous staircases of the hacienda) bothered me because it seemed to take forever for the characters to mount the stairs in order for the current scene to progress.
10.) Although I’m far, far from being a ‘fashionista’ or expert of any kind in historical dress, the female costumes aren’t ridiculously unbelievable with fabric colors or prints impossible to achieve during the period in which the novela takes place. Moreover, the female upper anatomy isn't ‘popping out’ at every turn.
(contined next section)
11.) At first, I had a hard time with EP’s looks because I don’t feel he falls in the “gorgeous” category of the typical Mexican novela “idols”: Fernando Colunga, Mauricio Islas (gorgeous doesn’t begin to describe this guy’s good looks and mesmerizing eyes), Eduardo Yáñez, William Levy, or Sebastián Rulli (guy with it all: hair, body, smile, eyes, etc.).
12.) In fact, to me personally, EP isn’t that good looking at all. However, he grows on you bit by bit. Also, he doesn’t have hypnotic eyes, isn’t that well “built” with muscles galore, but rather has a slim, statuesque, and lean body. But his hair / hairstyle were very “easy” on my eyes [same as with EY in CS 2008 (I love long hair on guys)].
13.) However, by the end of the novela I was taken in completely and in love with EP. His acting skills almost far out surpass and outshine all the other male actors I listed previously. EP conveyed so superbly and impressively the backstory of “Juan del Diablo” (his anguish, bitterness, resentment, etc.) that one comes to believe utterly that EP truly is Juan del Diablo. I must mention too that EG’s portrayal of Mónica far overshadows that of AA (Regina) in CS 2008. Now I am completely undecided over whether or not to watch “Ramona” with the late Eduardo Palomo and with the great Kate del Castillo (La Reina del Sur). I’ve been told “Ramona” has an unconventional ending; meaning to me that the main male character dies, and, therefore, the novela doesn’t have a “happy-ever-after” fairytale ending. ‘Do I watch “Ramona” or not?’
I've probably driven you guys with this lengthy blog; so please provide your input as to what should be the "real" rating of CS 1993.
I will also add "Dona Barbara: to 'Honorable Mentions', as requested by one blogger.
Thanks for your time in reading the above. I feel like CS 1993 truly is worthy of and deserves a higher rating than 2.0.

Now that I posted the completely Off Topic LENGTHY comment above, I would like to tell you what a delight your detailed recaps are to read. You always add something I've missed in translation, particularly with Ana's slang.
You take such effort to recap the story in its entirety, leaving nothing or very little out of the recap.
Your screen shots are always taken at just the crucial time to illustrate the expression of each character for maximum effect.
One can tell that you put almost unlimited time into your recaps because one is able to absorb the full episode without having seen it previously.
Many thanks for all your hard work for each of your recaps and also for posting your "Weekend Discussions" which are always thought provoking and such a pleasure to read others comments and opinions regarding the Discussion in question.
Gracias, Victoria.
I agree with most of your assessment of CS 93. That was one of my first novelas and I was in love with Eduardo Palomo from the first episode. I often refer to him as the Mexican Johnny Depp. We lost him all too soon.
And no matter what Aracely Arambula will never come up to the level of actress that Edith Gonzales was at that time. I rate that novela as a 9.
Now on to tonight's episode of MCET:
I really wish I could tell the twins apart. They are adorable but one would think that their parents would try to do something to help other people tell them apart by now. I also am wondering whether it's realistic that they never call each other by name.
I thought Alicia had Isabruja's number by now, but I guess we were wrong.
Loved how Yomama stuck it to Hissabela about her gaining weight.
And who else thinks Linda won't be gone for long?
It's also strange to me that the twins have the same first name in reality:
José Pablo
José Manuel
Don't psychologists today recommend distinguishing each twin (dress, hairstyle, etc.) differently so they develop their own personality?
Then do you think CS '93 should be rated 5.0 (same as Amor Real, Pasión, and Alborada), 4.5 (none), 4.0 (only Amor Bravío), or other.
For me, you and BlogMom are the telenovela experts, among others.
As to your question about the twins, I have no idea. What I used to hear is that identical twins typically play up their identical-ness when they're kids and decide on their own to differentiate themselves. I just can't remember what age was identified.
- watching Isa complain for the umpteenth time about starting to show. Get over it. What bothers me the most is that her attitude is affecting that child.
- The Edna cook-off was whatever. Of course we had to have the objectifying of her by the men ( really Bruno? I expect that from Johny, but you?). Why is it so hard to hire a cook? Enough.
- The whole Alicia thing was over the top. Frankly, it did come off too much as a "rich girl" reaction of picking out the right clothes, etc. The average teen girl wouldn't throw on a party dress. Cute jeans outfit maybe...she really is becoming a little too Isa and I think the parallels with the two were evident. Fer's reaction is going to backfire.
- Ana was annoying as all get-out while talking to Pablo. Those type scenes are where I want to smack the directors and the manner they want to portray her character.
- I actually liked the scene with Leon's "girls". I think he's opening Fanny's eyes to the world she claims she wants to be involved in. They may not become romantic, but I would like to see if Fanny continues on this path to help others and see the world outside the cocoon she grew up in.
- I think Edith was having a reaction to the random dude based on past experience with her step-brothers and I worry what that is actually going to turn out to be.
- Nico needs to shut the hell up. Way too much of the men making the rules or decisions for the women in this TN--is that intentional to show how intolerant that is?
- Is Leon going to go dark out of desperation? Something is changing in his character and can't put my finger on it.

I agree about Edith having flashbacks to her stepbrothers.
Alicia is insecure, but the party dress thing is over the top. Pablo is hardly the galan that Nando has the potential to become, so it's not like he has a dozen girls to choose from. Fernando's reaction to this situation is a little extreme; Ana should have recommended chaperoned dates or some other situation that they could keep an eye on her.
Edna as cook... no. Would she be able to handle the different requests of each member of that family like Manuela did? I doubt it. Although it is time for the kids to start eating grown-up food.
Fernando was way off in left field with the punishment because his very latemand extreme punishment is only going to inspire rebellion. Ana was obnoxious interrupting him as he was trying to talk to the kids eventhough her purpose was to save him from doing what he did,

Victoria... don't get me started on CS '93... i transcribed most of the main dialogues in both english and spanish... top of the list...
and yes, Mauricio Islas is the only actor alive that i can say comes even close to Palomo or is at same level. (My favs with Mauricio are El Manantial, Los Plateados, Amor Gitano and Amor Real (he stole the spotlight there from FC)... and his eyes... and his facial and body language say as much as his words...
ok, nuff there...
yes, Ramona is great to watch afterwards, just be aware that the ending is not typical.
i loved Picara Sonadora (you can find the ending and some other eps in youtube... with the late EP and also the late Mariana Levy...
about the chem between EP and Edith in CS 93... they knew each other since teens, were great friends/pals and even worked together in a theatrical play long before CS... so they were very comfortable with each other. but yes, DITTO on all you said there.
I laughed out loud when Fernando was unable to think of a single enemy. Clearly he hasn't pondered deeply enough his eviction from the presidency.
Linda certainly didn't give Reeky much more thought after she got rid of Fernando. On to the next victim!
I still wouldn't be surprised if Leon's mother ends up in the Lascurain kitchen -- and not a moment too soon! Looks like her business is still struggling and again Leon is out of a job.
I hope that Fanny ends up single and pondering all kinds of life options. However, she knows Leon and Lenin in such different contexts that it is hard to compare. She and Leon had little in common but mutual attraction and now some shared history. He is a sweety, IMHO, though he did lie to her about something pretty important. Lenin's personality is certainly lacking but he and Fanny are studying the same field, apparently about to do work in the community together -- the bases for at least a more serious relationship. Hope she has lots of friendships and personal relationships before she settles down.
Great idea Mati- since all the jobs in the mansion have to go to someone they already know, cough cough, give it the one person who really can cook: Leon's mom. Still doesn't answer the question of Leon getting a job or being able to go back to school. He's turning into an angry young man, and that has me worried.
With the Black Widow heading to her next hubby, Eeky just lost his meal ticket to survive if things head south. Anyone else get the feeling the writers are sort of showing that "elite" education isn't all it is cracked up to be: first the manner they showed Fanny & Nando's upscale school vs. public school and this dishing of the Grads in the story? I mean, I'm all for public schools too, but I find that interesting in how it's coming across in this TN...

CS 09? has my vote as less than 0
EP looked more like a typical guy sin bulging muscles etc although guapo. Loved him.
I don't know where the rating site is but I consider the CS 1993 as the most beautiful and tightly written/produced novela I have ever seen. I would put it a little ahead of all that you mentioned, though they are among my faves, too. EP was the prototypical wise and good "bad boy" in looks, action and swagger. Hard to match. Johnny Depp may be his parallel.
Marta - thanks for information about EG and EP. That explains a lot about the chemistry. Absolutely agree about Mauricio Islas.
Victoria - please watch Ramona. It is based on a young adult novel and very different that most novelas but it will win and break your heart.
Why is it we need another man that has to lead a woman and show them the way of the world? Of course the girls at the shelter will be attentive to Lenin, he is the only dude there. He's an arrogant little prick, but the poor delicate waif, Fanny, needs to be enlightened.
I have never like Nic and he continues to reinforce why. He is a condescending, chauvinistic prick and tries to play it off as empathy.
Yomama was soooooo funny.
Fernando does need to think first and react later. It's a business skill that's applicable to the rest of life.
Another vote for Ramona. It's unconventional for a novela but they couldn't change the book that much.
Thank you so much for your feedback.
Very interesting facts about EP and EG.
I'm so crazy I'm watching CS '93 again right after finishing it to enjoy the parts I might have missed.
I loved the telenovelas you mentioned with Mauricio Islas, especially 'Los Plateados' which was great and again for me I loved his long hair. The novela was like a cowboy mystery.
Also, 'Amor Gitano' was similar to a gypsy Montecristo.
Thanks again for your input. Back to reading more comments.
I love the little tidbits of information you guys provide about the actors such as EG and EP, PM, and AF. These tidbits make the characters so much more interesting.
Please, please email to me.

What a fantastic read I will have over the dreadful holidays.

BlogMom has been so helpful and is working on revising the sidebar link with the modified and updated "Table" for me.
Why don't they hire Margarita as the cook? Then Leon can come over a lot.
Not a spoiler, but I predict that when Fernando takes back the corner office he will initiate a program for women like Margarita to start their own restaurants, food truck chains, or whatever or something to get girls like Maricela out of poverty. Maybe Fanny will be in charge of such a thing someday.
That would be the best PSA for Fernando and Fanny to undertake.
Margarita would be a much better cook than Manuela because she would never in a million years cater to the eating whims of 7 different kids. What Manuela has done will hurt these kids in the long run because they grow up to be finicky eaters unable to enjoy the delicious cuisines offered. From one who knows.
Can you delete my first messed up comment at the beginning?
I agree that catering to kids' food whims isn't a good thing. I see it in 20-somethings today who have no sense of culinary adventure. In my time we ate what our parents ate, full stop. If we didn't like it, too bad.
