♥ Mi Corazón es Tuyo ♥ Lunes 12/1/14 ♥ #95 ♥

Capitulo 95: Partners in Crime

Hospital Room: Ana told Diego she felt guilty and he told her she was not at fault. There are things that are not within their control, including their feelings. Diego faced the truth, that Ana and Fernando were meant to be together. He cried.

Bruja Central Redux (Hissabela's New Apartment): Hissabela complained of not having slept the night before; Yomama couldn't hear her because she was wearing earplugs. Hissabela pulled them out and told her that the neighbor was having a loud party all night.

As Yomama answered the ringing doorbell Hissabela talked to the air about how she can't end up like this. The new maid arrived and Isabruja got on her case for wearing her hair loose. She went on about how sorry the girl will be if she finds a single loose hair. As Yomama showed the girl to her room, Hissabruja went on about her being a true naca.

It takes one to know one,” said Hera. “I can't believe she went to Haaarvard.” She rolled her eyes at that. “She has no class at all. You'd think she would have learned some there.”

Madrastra, if I had had anything to say about it she would probably have been expelled,” said Athena. “She has neither wit nor wisdom.”

And I refuse to believe she can handle business decisions and get into such ridiculous debt,” said Hermes. “Fernando should never have paid the debts she incurred before the marriage.”

Hospital Waiting Room: Jennifer told Fernando about how Nick went on about their age difference and how she would be better off with a man her own age. That he even wanted to cancel the wedding when he discovered he could no longer sire children. She was sad about this because she loves Nick. Fernando listened with sympathy.

Public University: Lenin met Fanny and Edith and handed each of them a pile of books. Fanny asked what they were for and he said “They're for my girls.” He offered no further explanation, saying they'd talk on the way. He also insisted that they take the bus, rejecting the possibility of Fanny driving her car there. The two girls shrugged and followed him.

Margarita's Apartment: León was looking at one of Mauricio's drawings while talking to his mother. She wanted him to call his cousin for a second job because of all their bills.

Bus: The three students stood on the bus (which looks smaller than ones in NYC) and lurched as it came to a sudden stop for passenger departure and boarding. Fanny was clearly not used to this and Lenin grabbed her jacket so she wouldn't fall. She politely told him “hands off”.
Another young male passenger handed her a card of pens when he saw the books. They continued on.

Chicago Club / Bruja Central: Doroteo's cell phone rang and it was Yomama. She called him “Pancho Villa” and flirted with him as Isabitch came in wearing black leggings and a boat-neck top, asking if she looked fat. Yomama answered by inflating her cheeks and making a show of clumsiness, clearly getting in a dig at her daughter's vanity.
Isababy left the room and Yomama continued the conversation.

Hospital Room: Fernando visited Nick, who told him he was feeling better. He was getting up and moving over to the couch, along with his IV pole. He was the definition of stubbornness. Fernando didn't doubt that for a minute, telling him he knew. Nick realized that Fernando had spoken to Jennifer, saying that he thought Johnny was a good guy. Fernando told him that this was not his decision. True to the accusation of stubbornness, Nick said that it was and it was final. Fernando sighed in frustration.

Natalia went to Diego's room just as Ana was coming out of it. She asked how Diego was and Ana told her that he was a beautiful person and she should not let him go. Natalia thanked her and went inside.

Chicago Club / Bruja Central: Doroteo asked Yomama what was up and Isabitch came back in a different outfit that shows she's beginning to show. Yomama did the same catty thing as she explained about the neighbor with the loud party. Isabitch left the room.

Edna entered Doroteo's office during this conversation, but he was able to multitask his attentions. He apologized to Yomama about the problem and said he would take care of it.
Isababy came back in wearing a third outfit and Yomama interrupted her phone conversation to tell her daughter that she needed maternity clothes. That made her cry herself into another tantrum.
This gave Yomama some satisfaction as she got back to her call.

Vanity. It's enough to make me ashamed to be female,” said Aphrodite.

I know what you mean,” said Artemis. “It's never easy to be a woman in a man's world.”

Bus: Edith was curious about how Fanny felt about Lenin. Fanny reminded her that she has a boyfriend. “But that doesn't mean you can't dig another guy,” was Edith's reaction. Another guy in a knit cap was watching them and grinning. He approached them and said “I don't know what I like better, the punk or the blondie.”

This seriously ticked Edith off. She got up, grabbed his lapels, and told him off before shoving him back. He got as far away from them as he could. As she sat down she looked a little freaked out. Lenin asked if all was well. She didn't answer.

Now there's a girl who gets it,” said Artemis.

True, but I wonder what she's remembering now.”

La Costeña: León was talking to Beatriz in the front of the office, telling her he had been up all the night before. He approached Enfrique's office door, but Beatriz told him that Linda was inside. León excused himself and said he would do something else in the meantime.

Inside, Enfrique was shredding some papers as Linda was trying to talk to him. She wasn't pleased at the fact that he wasn't looking at her during their conversation, saying he was treating her rudely. He blew up at her, saying he had work to do. She sarcastically commented on how busy he was and finally told him she was leaving shortly. He came out from behind the desk and asked where she was going.
She said she was going to New York to get married for the third time. She would be living in an apartment overlooking Central Park.

How long will you be there?”

As long as my husband lives.”

How old is he?”

Eighty-three.” She watched his reaction. “You have been putting my interests behind those of the company. I was hoping you'd at least be half as efficient as Fernando Lascuráin.” She stared into his eyes for moment before sashaying out.

I am better than Fernando Lascuráin. Much better.”

Yeah, say it enough times and you might start believing it. We won't.” said Hermes. “I actually wonder if his degree is real.”

So do I,” said Aphrodite. “But Linda is a real Black Widow. I'm sure of that.”

Lascuráin Mansion: Edna arrived to apply to be Manuela's replacement. Bruno's hormones start making themselves known, but Edna was more enamored of Siete.

Orphanage: Lenin, Fanny, and Edith arrived and looked down into the courtyard at the girls. They varied in ages from children to teenagers. Edith commented about them being abandoned, some having run away from bad family situations, others from worse than that.
The teen girls immediately flocked around Lenin who began distributing books.

Lascuráin Mansion: Ana and Fernando were barely into the front door when his cell rang. He looked at it and realized it was Hissabela. He didn't want to answer, but Ana told him he should. The alternative would be to have her charging in uninvited and ranting her nonsense again. She excused herself to check on things in the kitchen because soon the kids would be home from school.

As she exited he answered, prepared for battle. She whined about how her clothes don't fit anymore and he pointed out why. She got sarcastic in her responses, only to hear him say she would need maternity clothes. She said she would able to buy them more easily if he hadn't canceled her credit card. He wasn't fooled by this one, saying he knew perfectly well what she and her mother would do with one. He will decide when she needs maternity clothes.
She ended the call and blew a raspberry at the phone.

Don't they have pre-paid cards in Mexico? He should just give her one to Mama Mia and be done with it.” said Hera.

Good idea,” said Athena. “Let her see how real women deal with this. Wait until she finds out that Dior doesn't make maternity clothes.”

La Costeña: León went into Enfrique's office not expecting to get the blame for Enfrique's failure to hold the reins of the company. In fact, he had no idea what Enfrique was talking about. Enfrique demanded to know why he stayed when he hated him. León was honest, saying “I don't trust you, but I need the money.”
He got his pink slip for that, with Enfrique showing his freak by yelling at him to leave.

Ah, León, you should just have said 'Take this job and shove it.'” said Apollo.

I like that,” said Hermes. “Although I'm sure he wanted to stick around to get the goods on him.”

Then that will probably be up to us, brother. We just have to find a way to tell Fernando.”

Lascuráin Mansion: Ana pointed out that Fernando was not made aware that Edna was applying for the position of cook. Ana further said that Fernando was quite conservative and that her harshest judges will be the kids.
Bruno told Edna she would need to prepare three different dishes as quickly as possible. Thus, in a combination of Iron Chef and Chopped, Edna went to work. Her knife skills looked good. Her first round, two hearty-looking soups and meatballs in tomato sauce, got her reviews of 8, 7, and 9 from Ana, Bruno, and Johnny respectively.
She got scored 1, 7, 8 on the second round (breakfast foods, I think) and 1, 5, 4 for what looked like gazpacho.
Ana congratulated her for her energy, but said they will not have the last word, which belongs to Don Fernando.

Orphanage: Lenin was reading a pirate story and got to the end. He did so wearing a tricorn and getting the girls to participate when he got to the part about throwing things overboard. Fanny and Edith were impressed with how he impressed these girls.

Lascuráin Mansion: Sebastián entered his younger sisters' room to tell Alicia that Pablo was downstairs. While she got a little too excited at the prospect she had no idea that the twins were about to pull one of their pranks on her new novio.
They handed him a jar of something red they said they were too little to open. He said not to worry, started to open it, and they squeezed the windbag just as Fernando, Bruno, and Ana entered. None of them thought this amusing.

Fernando introduced himself to Pablo as Alicia's father, then took his hand. He clearly has an iron grip when he chooses to and Ana could see that he was taking his pique out on the boy. The doorbell rang and Bruno went to answer.
Fernando released Pablo's hand and took a good look at him as Bruno opened the door to two plainclothes detectives. One displayed his badge. Bruno was afraid for a moment, but turned around to tell his boss. Pablo introduced himself and Fernando told him to have a seat. Bruno came in to tell him the police wanted to see him and Fernando said to show them into the library. He then told the twins he doesn't want them to pull any more tasteless jokes like this.

They said “No, Papa” in the most deceptively adorable unison. Of course when the two detectives entered they petted the boys' heads as though they were adorable kittens and one of them squeezed the bag again as the second cop passed them en route to the library. Ana gave them a look, smoothed out their hair, and got them to sit on the couch where she could keep an eye on them.
She introduced herself to Pablo and explained that Alex and Guille (“the clones”) were Alicia's brothers. He said “Hello, clones” to them and they let him know they were less than approving of his possible intentions toward their sister.

Upstairs, Alicia was trying to decide what to wear. Sebastián and Luz were not helpful and Alicia got more nervous than ever until she decided to borrow something from Fanny's closet.

There's nothing wrong with what she's wearing. At least it's not her school uniform. Those would make Priapus need Viagra,” said Artemis.

You know how girls are when they fall in love the first time,” said Aphrodite. Then she caught herself. “Cancelo, cancelo, cancelo. I forgot you're not like most other girls.”

In the library Fernando and the two detectives talked about the hospital incident. They handed him a disc with a video from the ICU security camera, which he immediately loaded into the computer. Bruno came in with a coffee tray and watched the video over Fernando's shoulder. However, Fernando couldn't recognize the killer because of the lighting and because he was masked. Seeing him in person might be different. The younger detective speculated that this had been well-planned. They would have to check other cameras' videos to see if there was anything else.

Hospital: A doctor was telling Diego about what they would do and that his left hand would require complicated surgery because the tendons were all torn up. They would need to replace nerves and blood vessels. His circulation was good but the operation is urgent. Diego consented calmly.

The doctor left to book the operating room for the next morning, leaving him alone with Natalia. Diego confessed he handled the situation with Ana incorrectly. He knew that Fernando and Ana were meant for each other. As for whether he could reconcile with them he wasn't sure. It would take time. Natalia said “This is the man I know. This is the man I love” and kissed him. Nando came in.

Orphanage: Lenin and Fanny sat on opposite sides of a cute teen girl whom he introduced as Maricela. He left her alone with her while he went to see the boss. When Maricela told Fanny she was 15 Fanny said “I have a sister your age” and Maricela said “I'm sure she isn't pregnant.” Fanny looked down at Maricela's abdomen with a sad expression.

How pathetic is that,” said Hera. “This girl who should be studying geometry and foreign languages is handling pregnancy better than a grown woman with a degree from Haaarvard.”

Because Maricela doesn't express hubris,” said Athena. “She doesn't try to tempt us to punish her. She looks like she will learn from her mistakes. Hissabela doesn't.”

La Costeña: León finished telling Beatriz how insane Enfrique just got and described his paranoia. “Just as I think I'm going to get ahead I'm out of work again,” he said. She was shocked that he had been terminated. “What are you going to do now?” “I have to find another job. I have debts to pay.” Beatriz expressed sympathy.

Lascuráin Mansion: Fernando removed the disc from his computer and started answering the ultimate question. His father had no enemies. He's retired, owns shares in the company, he recently married a marvelous woman who's younger than he is, but as far as he knew his father had no enemies. The younger detective then presented the hypothesis that it was an enemy of Fernando's.
Someone who might kill Nick to hurt him. “Do you have any enemies, Señor Lascuráin?” Fernando stared.

La Costeña: Enfrique finished a phone call, then tried to turn his attention to work. Hisabruja entered without knocking. He looked up and right away she got on his case for looking at her the way he did.

Idiot; maybe he just wasn't expecting you.” said Aphrodite. “What an ego.”

But I didn't say anything,” he said.

But you were thinking it.” She looked around and saw the crumpled paper on the desk. “What a disaster, Enrique,” she said.

Lascuráin Mansion: Alicia was in her room and actually wishing that Hissabela was there to help her. She paced nervously. Downstairs Pablo had just told Ana the whole story of how he and Alicia met and the fake photo he had posted to his dating profile.
Sebastián, Luz, and the twins sat in the huge chair opposite them, listening avidly. They made fun of his laugh. Ana even winced slightly. He fessed up that his laugh was his liability. He had posted a photo of a blonde guy because he had the idea that girls preferred them. Ana told him she preferred guys with dark hair. Of course the false photo of Alicia got mentioned and Luz wanted to know more about that. Ana took out her cell and showed that photo to Luz and Sebastián, saying that Alicia made herself look closer to Fanny's age.

The twins tried to sneak over to the library door during this but Ana called them back before they got to the door. Luz said something about Alicia being pretty in that photo.

Ana, I don't think you should have shown that photo to Luz,” said Hera. “She is a little young for that sort of information.”

I agree,” said Athena. “Luz is precocious, but there is such a thing as Too Much Information.”

The library doors opened and Fernando escorted the two detectives out. Both stopped to ruffle the twins' hair on the way out, which the boys found mildly irritating. When the adults were distracted they went into the library and pretended to be inspecting a crime scene.
One of them found a pair of handcuffs on a chair; the other was impressed. They then agreed to say nothing to anyone. The one who found them stashed them in his pocket just before Fernando came back in. He asked then what they were up to. “Nothing,” they each said, whistling. Fernando stared at them.

Hospital: Nando and Diego talked about Ximena. Nando missed her but felt free because her illness was interfering with their relationship. Diego pointed out that while Ximena was a nice girl she had too much baggage and Nando has enough to contend with. It's a long-distance relationship for the moment, and Nando can handle that.

Lascuráin Mansion: One of the twins said they were investigating a crime. “What crime?” asked Fernando. “It was committed in the library with a candlabra,” said the other. “Could be the chatelaine,” said the first. “Or the butler did it,” said Fernando. “Bruno?” they asked. “NO!'
Fernando played along with them as he escorted them out. They asked why the police had come and he said “Nothing bad, boys,” as they entered the parlour. He kissed them both as Alicia came downstairs in Fanny's dress. Pablo stared, his mouth open like a caught fish.
The younger kids teased and Fernando told all the younger kids to go upstairs.

Once upstairs the twins made Luz and Sebastián swear to tell nobody about what they were about to show them. They both swore and they revealed the police handcuffs.

Alicia tried to tell Fernando that nothing bad happened, but he was not satisfied. She had talked to Pablo and determined he was a nice boy, but Fernando wasn't convinced. He had posted a photo that wasn't himself. So had Alicia. No matter that both are much younger than the photos they posted. Fernando finally said they were forbidden to see each other.

Urban, thanks the recap, screencaps and Olympian commentary were great! Thanks!

Random thoughts:

Best comment of the night: Ana telling Fernando that by meeting Pablo they would see " en que lado masca la iguana" (on what side the iguana chews).

I liked Yolanda telling Isabel that if she wore maternity clothes at least peolpe would know why she looked like a "tinaco" (water tank). She always puts things in such colorful ways.

Now that León is out of a job, Beatriz is done patting him on the leg, and Edna didn't pass the cooking test, maybe León should be the new cook.

Fernando did a a half of a call out to us: he actually said "Caray".

Poor Pablo! He suffered through the twins, Ana and Fernando just to be told he and Alicia would not be seeing each other again. Hardly seemed like the appropriate punishment at this point. In spite of all that, Ana was annoying trying to direct his conversation with Alicia and Pablo.

Too much Lenin.

I love the possibilities with the twins and the handcuffs.

OFF TOPIC

Corazón Salvaje 1993

With permission, I would like to post this comment for maximum response and for approval to rate CS 1993 as more highly recommended than the rating of 2.0 on the table, “Recommended Telenovelas”. I need a minimum of eight positive responses with a rating recommendation in order to modify CS 1993's current rating of 2.0.

Because so many of you recommended the 1993 version to me during discussions for LQLVMR and MCET, I decided to watch this version for my next telenovela. I just finished watching it and admit that, once I started watching the novela on YouTube, I only stopped once for several hours of sleep because this version was so enthralling.

To me, the 1993 version of Corazon Salvaje is the quintessential telenovela. It has all the components that make a truly perfect telenovela. Just a very few of my limited comments/thoughts:

1.) The story unfolds in less than 100 episodes (here in 80 episodes).

2.) The story is concise, true to the main narrative of the plot.

3.) There aren’t parallel, silly or otherwise, side storylines being told that just make for filler material.

4.) Here the main storyline is about the protagonists (Edith González and the late Eduardo Palomo), and the few side storylines perfectly integrate with the main protagonists and their story.

5.) The plot doesn’t waste our intelligence or time with stupid, impossible, and ridiculously unbelievable happenings (e.g., ESP, girl gets pregnant after “one” and only one time, witch potions, child kidnappings, etc., etc.)

6.) The “love” story between the main characters doesn’t “knock you over the head”; instead it unfolds with a believable background or history (same as with CS 2008).

7.) The antagonist(s), while being mean isn’t (aren’t) necessarily evil, vicious, despicable, or cruel; just appalling nasty (i.e., Ana Colchero as Aimée).

8.) The main characters aren’t your typical novela actors with gorgeously stunning looks, bodies, clothes, etc.

9.) The unassuming, modest scenery of this novela is actually very elegant and credible for the locale and era in which the story is set. Only the numerous staircases of the buildings and interiors of the structures (especially the numerous staircases of the hacienda) bothered me because it seemed to take forever for the characters to mount the stairs in order for the current scene to progress.

10.) Although I’m far, far from being a ‘fashionista’ or expert of any kind in historical dress, the female costumes aren’t ridiculously unbelievable with fabric colors or prints impossible to achieve during the period in which the novela takes place. Moreover, the female upper anatomy isn't ‘popping out’ at every turn.

(contined next section)

(Continued from previous)

11.) At first, I had a hard time with EP’s looks because I don’t feel he falls in the “gorgeous” category of the typical Mexican novela “idols”: Fernando Colunga, Mauricio Islas (gorgeous doesn’t begin to describe this guy’s good looks and mesmerizing eyes), Eduardo Yáñez, William Levy, or Sebastián Rulli (guy with it all: hair, body, smile, eyes, etc.).

12.) In fact, to me personally, EP isn’t that good looking at all. However, he grows on you bit by bit. Also, he doesn’t have hypnotic eyes, isn’t that well “built” with muscles galore, but rather has a slim, statuesque, and lean body. But his hair / hairstyle were very “easy” on my eyes [same as with EY in CS 2008 (I love long hair on guys)].

13.) However, by the end of the novela I was taken in completely and in love with EP. His acting skills almost far out surpass and outshine all the other male actors I listed previously. EP conveyed so superbly and impressively the backstory of “Juan del Diablo” (his anguish, bitterness, resentment, etc.) that one comes to believe utterly that EP truly is Juan del Diablo. I must mention too that EG’s portrayal of Mónica far overshadows that of AA (Regina) in CS 2008. Now I am completely undecided over whether or not to watch “Ramona” with the late Eduardo Palomo and with the great Kate del Castillo (La Reina del Sur). I’ve been told “Ramona” has an unconventional ending; meaning to me that the main male character dies, and, therefore, the novela doesn’t have a “happy-ever-after” fairytale ending. ‘Do I watch “Ramona” or not?’

I've probably driven you guys with this lengthy blog; so please provide your input as to what should be the "real" rating of CS 1993.

I will also add "Dona Barbara: to 'Honorable Mentions', as requested by one blogger.

Thanks for your time in reading the above. I feel like CS 1993 truly is worthy of and deserves a higher rating than 2.0.

Now that I posted the completely Off Topic LENGTHY comment above, I would like to tell you what a delight your detailed recaps are to read. You always add something I've missed in translation, particularly with Ana's slang.

You take such effort to recap the story in its entirety, leaving nothing or very little out of the recap.

Your screen shots are always taken at just the crucial time to illustrate the expression of each character for maximum effect.

One can tell that you put almost unlimited time into your recaps because one is able to absorb the full episode without having seen it previously.

Many thanks for all your hard work for each of your recaps and also for posting your "Weekend Discussions" which are always thought provoking and such a pleasure to read others comments and opinions regarding the Discussion in question.

Gracias, Victoria.

I agree with most of your assessment of CS 93. That was one of my first novelas and I was in love with Eduardo Palomo from the first episode. I often refer to him as the Mexican Johnny Depp. We lost him all too soon.

And no matter what Aracely Arambula will never come up to the level of actress that Edith Gonzales was at that time. I rate that novela as a 9.

Now on to tonight's episode of MCET:

I really wish I could tell the twins apart. They are adorable but one would think that their parents would try to do something to help other people tell them apart by now. I also am wondering whether it's realistic that they never call each other by name.

I thought Alicia had Isabruja's number by now, but I guess we were wrong.

Loved how Yomama stuck it to Hissabela about her gaining weight.

And who else thinks Linda won't be gone for long?

Urban

It's also strange to me that the twins have the same first name in reality:

José Pablo
José Manuel

Don't psychologists today recommend distinguishing each twin (dress, hairstyle, etc.) differently so they develop their own personality?

Urban
Then do you think CS '93 should be rated 5.0 (same as Amor Real, Pasión, and Alborada), 4.5 (none), 4.0 (only Amor Bravío), or other.

For me, you and BlogMom are the telenovela experts, among others.

CS 93 should have the highest possible rating.

As to your question about the twins, I have no idea. What I used to hear is that identical twins typically play up their identical-ness when they're kids and decide on their own to differentiate themselves. I just can't remember what age was identified.

I was thinking about the twins and I Think....they have different hairdos. I'll have to pay more close attention but I thought one combs his hair more to the back while the other is a little more to the side.

Great recap Urban on what I thought was only a so-so episode. Filler and some set up:

- watching Isa complain for the umpteenth time about starting to show. Get over it. What bothers me the most is that her attitude is affecting that child.

- The Edna cook-off was whatever. Of course we had to have the objectifying of her by the men ( really Bruno? I expect that from Johny, but you?). Why is it so hard to hire a cook? Enough.

- The whole Alicia thing was over the top. Frankly, it did come off too much as a "rich girl" reaction of picking out the right clothes, etc. The average teen girl wouldn't throw on a party dress. Cute jeans outfit maybe...she really is becoming a little too Isa and I think the parallels with the two were evident. Fer's reaction is going to backfire.

- Ana was annoying as all get-out while talking to Pablo. Those type scenes are where I want to smack the directors and the manner they want to portray her character.

- I actually liked the scene with Leon's "girls". I think he's opening Fanny's eyes to the world she claims she wants to be involved in. They may not become romantic, but I would like to see if Fanny continues on this path to help others and see the world outside the cocoon she grew up in.

- I think Edith was having a reaction to the random dude based on past experience with her step-brothers and I worry what that is actually going to turn out to be.

- Nico needs to shut the hell up. Way too much of the men making the rules or decisions for the women in this TN--is that intentional to show how intolerant that is?

- Is Leon going to go dark out of desperation? Something is changing in his character and can't put my finger on it.

I am hoping that Leon won't react too nastily to Fanny spending time with Lenin. Lenin has another agenda for her that I think she is aware of but I don't think she has enough life experience to handle it perfectly.

I agree about Edith having flashbacks to her stepbrothers.

Alicia is insecure, but the party dress thing is over the top. Pablo is hardly the galan that Nando has the potential to become, so it's not like he has a dozen girls to choose from. Fernando's reaction to this situation is a little extreme; Ana should have recommended chaperoned dates or some other situation that they could keep an eye on her.

Edna as cook... no. Would she be able to handle the different requests of each member of that family like Manuela did? I doubt it. Although it is time for the kids to start eating grown-up food.

I have a problem with Lenin and him having "another agenda for her". He has come off as arrogant from the start. She can get her life experiences without him leading her.

Fernando was way off in left field with the punishment because his very latemand extreme punishment is only going to inspire rebellion. Ana was obnoxious interrupting him as he was trying to talk to the kids eventhough her purpose was to save him from doing what he did,

Jarifa

The fact that Fernando and Ana didn't discuss this situation rationally is going to come back to bite both of them on the tuchas.

"Tuchas" yes indeed! Diego has to stop crying already.
Not attractive.

Jarifa

UA, masterful again! although i find most of this episode filler... btw, what Fernando told Hissa was that he would limit how much she could spend on the card... that the amount was his decision.

Victoria... don't get me started on CS '93... i transcribed most of the main dialogues in both english and spanish... top of the list...
and yes, Mauricio Islas is the only actor alive that i can say comes even close to Palomo or is at same level. (My favs with Mauricio are El Manantial, Los Plateados, Amor Gitano and Amor Real (he stole the spotlight there from FC)... and his eyes... and his facial and body language say as much as his words...

ok, nuff there...
yes, Ramona is great to watch afterwards, just be aware that the ending is not typical.

i loved Picara Sonadora (you can find the ending and some other eps in youtube... with the late EP and also the late Mariana Levy...

about the chem between EP and Edith in CS 93... they knew each other since teens, were great friends/pals and even worked together in a theatrical play long before CS... so they were very comfortable with each other. but yes, DITTO on all you said there.

Thanks, Urban. I love the goddesses' remarks and the screen caps.

I laughed out loud when Fernando was unable to think of a single enemy. Clearly he hasn't pondered deeply enough his eviction from the presidency.

Linda certainly didn't give Reeky much more thought after she got rid of Fernando. On to the next victim!

I still wouldn't be surprised if Leon's mother ends up in the Lascurain kitchen -- and not a moment too soon! Looks like her business is still struggling and again Leon is out of a job.

I hope that Fanny ends up single and pondering all kinds of life options. However, she knows Leon and Lenin in such different contexts that it is hard to compare. She and Leon had little in common but mutual attraction and now some shared history. He is a sweety, IMHO, though he did lie to her about something pretty important. Lenin's personality is certainly lacking but he and Fanny are studying the same field, apparently about to do work in the community together -- the bases for at least a more serious relationship. Hope she has lots of friendships and personal relationships before she settles down.

Frankly, Fer's reaction is his typical reaction to breaking his rules: he goes just a bit extreme and self-righteous. The idea being all behavior stops, discussion stops and you move on. Then he softens and can be reasoned with later. So how he reacted to Alicia tells me we may see something similar when the truth about Ana comes out. He's never altogether wrong in recognizing there is a problem, but he goes to the extreme in "the fix".

Great idea Mati- since all the jobs in the mansion have to go to someone they already know, cough cough, give it the one person who really can cook: Leon's mom. Still doesn't answer the question of Leon getting a job or being able to go back to school. He's turning into an angry young man, and that has me worried.

With the Black Widow heading to her next hubby, Eeky just lost his meal ticket to survive if things head south. Anyone else get the feeling the writers are sort of showing that "elite" education isn't all it is cracked up to be: first the manner they showed Fanny & Nando's upscale school vs. public school and this dishing of the Grads in the story? I mean, I'm all for public schools too, but I find that interesting in how it's coming across in this TN...

Daisynjay

CS 93 has my vote as a 4.

CS 09? has my vote as less than 0

EP looked more like a typical guy sin bulging muscles etc although guapo. Loved him.

Victoria,

I don't know where the rating site is but I consider the CS 1993 as the most beautiful and tightly written/produced novela I have ever seen. I would put it a little ahead of all that you mentioned, though they are among my faves, too. EP was the prototypical wise and good "bad boy" in looks, action and swagger. Hard to match. Johnny Depp may be his parallel.

Marta - thanks for information about EG and EP. That explains a lot about the chemistry. Absolutely agree about Mauricio Islas.

Victoria - please watch Ramona. It is based on a young adult novel and very different that most novelas but it will win and break your heart.

absolutely awesome UA

Why is it we need another man that has to lead a woman and show them the way of the world? Of course the girls at the shelter will be attentive to Lenin, he is the only dude there. He's an arrogant little prick, but the poor delicate waif, Fanny, needs to be enlightened.

I have never like Nic and he continues to reinforce why. He is a condescending, chauvinistic prick and tries to play it off as empathy.

Yomama was soooooo funny.

Yomama was hilarious in this episode. Such a contrast to the roles CS usually plays.

Fernando does need to think first and react later. It's a business skill that's applicable to the rest of life.

Another vote for Ramona. It's unconventional for a novela but they couldn't change the book that much.

Marta:
Thank you so much for your feedback.

Very interesting facts about EP and EG.

I'm so crazy I'm watching CS '93 again right after finishing it to enjoy the parts I might have missed.

I loved the telenovelas you mentioned with Mauricio Islas, especially 'Los Plateados' which was great and again for me I loved his long hair. The novela was like a cowboy mystery.

Also, 'Amor Gitano' was similar to a gypsy Montecristo.

Thanks again for your input. Back to reading more comments.

Marta & Urban & others.

I love the little tidbits of information you guys provide about the actors such as EG and EP, PM, and AF. These tidbits make the characters so much more interesting.

if anyone is interested, all 3 of the original Corazon Salvaje books by Caridad Bravo Adams ('Corazon Salvaje', 'Monica' and 'Juan del Diablo') (warning, the storyline is similar in first book but deviates GREATLY after episode 15 or so from the '93 version, the '09 version is not that similar to the books either... you have to go to the movie with Angelica Maria and Julio Aleman to follow the book storyline) are available online as text files. or you can email me and i can email them to you...

BlogMom has been so helpful and is working on revising the sidebar link with the modified and updated "Table" for me.

sent. enjoy!

Thank you UA. I agree with some of you that there was a lot of filler.

Why don't they hire Margarita as the cook? Then Leon can come over a lot.

I think the writers have a bigger plan for Margarita. I'd like to see her run her own business.

Not a spoiler, but I predict that when Fernando takes back the corner office he will initiate a program for women like Margarita to start their own restaurants, food truck chains, or whatever or something to get girls like Maricela out of poverty. Maybe Fanny will be in charge of such a thing someday.

Urban

That would be the best PSA for Fernando and Fanny to undertake.

Margarita would be a much better cook than Manuela because she would never in a million years cater to the eating whims of 7 different kids. What Manuela has done will hurt these kids in the long run because they grow up to be finicky eaters unable to enjoy the delicious cuisines offered. From one who knows.

Can you delete my first messed up comment at the beginning?

I agree that catering to kids' food whims isn't a good thing. I see it in 20-somethings today who have no sense of culinary adventure. In my time we ate what our parents ate, full stop. If we didn't like it, too bad.
