TELEMUNDO Y MENOS: Reina de Corazones, Project Chapter a Day, Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 - 139: Countdown to the Gran Fin.

I am sure that I can't write a recap half as entertaining as NovelaMaven's of yesterday but here goes as we hurtle towards the end.
Don't joke about Mom! Channeling Agatha Christie, Juanjo
pulls a gun and tells Reina that the murderer is always the one no one
suspects. Reina can’t believe it. She says this must be a joke. JJ grabs her
and shows her the shrine to his mother.
He says that she was a marvelous woman. She never should have died so young and left her Chiche alone.
Even after the amnesia, the drugs and everything, the Dragon can still remember a casual conversation from 10 years ago - “Chiche” repeats Navier, “no puede
ser.” FELS and Izzy ask what he knows. Flashback to Nav and JJ joking around as Valet Parkings.
Nav tells Juanjo that he got him a job at Estefi’s wedding. Said Estefi drives
up and conspicuously calls Juanjo "Chiche" several times even blowing him a kiss.
“Chiche?” asks Navier. JJ says that he doesn’t know why she calls him Chiche
sometimes – a rich person’s eccentricity. Back to the present. Nav pulls out
his phone and dials.

Reina's latest prison, i.e., Juanjo's secret house - a lot of people in this novela carry the blood of a murderer
JJ tells Reina that Estefi found him and recruited him to Team Revenge. She told him to get close to a Valet Parking – Nicolás Nuñez. [Presumably that was Estefi's Project Nookie, since Navier hadn't even met Reina yet.] It was easy. NN was a good guy. He even got JJ a job at the casino. No one suspected. “Poor NN,” says JJ, “his big mistake was falling in love with you.” His phone rings but he doesn’t take the call. “Mi amigo,” says JJ, looking at his phone. “Navier isn’t your friend,” says Reina, who doesn’t seemed to have learned that it isn’t a good idea to contradict psychopaths. This time it's JJ who grabs her hair [maybe Reina should see Esmeeth's stylist about a short cut that isn't so grab-able] saying that Navier shouldn’t be with someone who carries the blood of a murderer. [El Coyote didn’t ever murder anyone, Juanjo?] JJ continues to make the transition from guy who wears funny underwear to crazed killer. He tells the portrait of his mom that he is going to kill Reina for her.

After sex, Dra Moto tells Laz that this is love. Laz says that he has been lying to himself for a long time.

Poor Reina is tied up again.
Except for the eight years that Victor made Reina's life a living hell - Juanjo
tells her that he is Estefi’s brother [half-brother, actually] son of El
Coyote. Foolishly Reina tries to reason with JJ. She says that they are all
victims. None of them chose to be in this situation. Their parents paved the
way for all this. She says that she knows JJ isn’t a murderer. JJ claims that he has killed people but
doesn’t say who. He says that he met Estefi; she stoked up his hatred and they
killed Reina’s father and decided to make her life a living hell. “And you
succeeded,” says Reina. JJ says that the
gran final hasn’t happened yet – her death. With Estefi in jail, he has to do
it.
Poor Reina is tied up again.

CIA Headquarters - The Dragon can make a mistake?
Navier is torturing himself with guilt. He tells Izzy that he entrusted Reina to JJ. Estefi is led in. Navier tells her that he knows about her relationship with JJ and demands to know where he is. Estefi tells him that JJ is at his house getting married to Susana so he can have the kind of family they all deserved. In comes Susana. She demands to know what is going on and she is surprised to see Izzy.

Reina into JJ’s hands. “Javier Bolivar
no es perfecto,” she says, “you will pay in blood for the error you just
committed.”

Vic tells Cobra that she is the most amazing woman he has ever met. She replies that she knew he needed the diamonds to make him perfectly happy [and her perfectly unnecessary.]
Vic asks where she
hid them. She had hidden them in the falcon statue in Vic’s office [making a
subtle allusion to two Humphrey Bogart movies about valuable things that people
kill for - the Maltese Falcon and the
Treasure of the Sierra Madre].
Vic tells Cobra that she is the most amazing woman he has ever met. She replies that she knew he needed the diamonds to make him perfectly happy [and her perfectly unnecessary.]

Navier asks Susana to tell him everything she knows, no matter how unimportant it might seem, about Juanjo, about a place he might have that no one knows about. Susana doesn’t understand. Navier tells her that JJ is Estefi’s brother and is going to kill Reina.

Juanjo is still trying to figure how the best way to kill Reina. He takes a candle and tells Reina that the past has to be turned to ashes – a fire to finish everything. Once Reina is dead, JJ can start a new life with Navier and Susana. Reina asks how he is going to live with Navier if he hates him. JJ replies that he doesn’t hate Navier – he hates Reina. He tried to keep Navier from marrying Reina. Reina says that everything was a farce then even his love for Susana. JJ denies that. He says that finding Susana was an accident. He loves her, he loves Laz and Connie, Navier and Estefi.

for his son [just Navier, I guess, not Faux O’s other son] and for Esmeeth.

Esmeeth comes on to ORBO saying how much he must have fantasized about her when he was locked up. She can be anything he wants. He starts to untie her. They embrace and suddenly Esmeeth is beating on ORBO. She is about to escape when Vic comes in with a gun.

Susana doesn’t know what to say about JJ. Navier begs her to think – a tough job for her. Finally Susana remembers that her private investigator found a house that Juanjo had bought as a surprise. She didn’t tell him that she knew.

Navier is driving his big white Kia Dragonmobile with Izzy. He prays that he isn’t too late.
Inside the house, Juanjo has been splashing gasoline around. Reina begs him to listen to her. Her daughter needs her. He wouldn’t want her daughter to grow up without a mother like he did.

fire. Reina begs him not to do this.

there for him. He helped take Estefi to the asylum in Florida. Why did Estefi
shoot him? Navier says that something must have gone wrong there [with the
writers? Did they always intend that JJ would be a bad guy?]

Checkmate! says JJ shrugging. He
leaves and is running out of the house just as Navier and Izzy drive up. As
Navier and Izzy get out of the car, the house explodes. “Reina!!!” screams
Navier while Izzy keeps him from running into the house.
Navier clutches his chest and
grimaces in pain.
We hear his thoughts-
it was useless being an agent… or the boss.. or getting his memory back
.. neither all the training nor the intelligence nor even his sixth sense was
of any use. Since Izzy isn’t there to stop him, he runs into the house.

Vic offers to give ORBO the life that Faux O took away from him in return for his loyalty. He makes ORBO agree that he wants Esmeeth dead. Vic says that he will give him that pleasure because he deserves it.

JJ calls Christián and tells him the good news [from his perspective] – Reina is dead. But there is bad news, too – Estefi is in custody and JJ’s participation has been exposed. He also tells Christián that Izzy is alive and working with Navier.

We see that Christián is in Connie’s bedroom where she babbles in sleep about loving Izzy and wanting to be with him for the rest of her life. Connie wakes up, sees Christián and screams.

Navier comes out of the burning house. As before, when he was trapped in the burning corpse storage place, he has only suffered smudges on his face.

FELS and some agents are at Victor’s house with a search warrant to look for Esmeeth. Vic gets a call from his contact at the CIA. This person tells Vic that the jig is up. He can’t cover for Vic anymore. The CIA has the formula for his drug and they are coming for him.

Navier is driving. Reina comes out from behind some trees and flags down the car. In a repeat of the first time they met, Reina is on her knees as the car comes to a stop and we see Navier reflected in the side mirror as Reina stands up.
Navier jumps out of the car and they embrace.
In a flashback, we see Reina manage to get herself untied [fortunately, Juanjo didn’t use handcuffs] and smash her way out of the house wrapped in a blanket. Navier tells Reina that when he saw the house burning, he felt like he was dying with her but now he sees that nothing can separate them. He is right here with her. They are together.

Navier’s phone rings and Izzy tells him that FELS is at the DeRosas mansion and Esmeeth is missing. He also got a strange call from Connie and he is going to her house to find out what is going on.

He says that it really bothers him that Izzy is alive and that Connie
still loves him and even talks about him in her sleep. He tells her Juanjo has
killed Reina. She can’t believe it. He
brings her up to speed on the vengeance quartet and that he is now a fugitive.
He will escape but not before killing Izzy.

FELS comes in and says that Esmeeth is not in the house but she was there. He says that Victor is under house arrest. He can’t leave this room and the house is surrounded. Vic tells FELS not to worry. He wouldn’t put the lives of his wife and child in danger. He surrenders. FELS leaves and Vic and Cobra give each other knowing smiles.

ORBO brings an unconscious Esmeeth to, where else, to the ice cream freezer still populated by Docsicles.
He tells her that it feels great to have her
in his arms and know that he has the power of life and death over her. The
voice of Faux O starts to argue with ORBO. Faux O says that Esmeeth is his.
Stuttering with emotion, ORBO tells Faux O that he is dead and buried while he,
ORBO, is alive. Faux O tells ORBO not to
touch Esmeeth and ORBO asks how is he going stop him – the dead don’t even have
the power to complain. Faux O tells ORBO
that he is just an idiot who was locked up for 50 years and was too cowardly to
even try and escape while Faux O enjoyed ORBO’s money, and family, traveled and
had two sons. “Do what you want,” he says, “Esmeeth will always be mine.” “No,
no!” screams ORBO. He says that Esmeeth will die here, frozen, the way Faux O
froze ORBO’s soul and heart.
He says
goodbye to Faux O telling him to rot in hell. He tells Esmeeth to go to heaven and leaves. Esmeeth wakes up and starts screaming. [Ok so I know we have to have the dramatic rescue but how hard would it be to get your hands untied if they are in front of you? Reach up pull off the gag and work the knot open with your teeth. And a trained agent like Esmeeth is freaked out by the docsicles?]
ORBO brings an unconscious Esmeeth to, where else, to the ice cream freezer still populated by Docsicles.

CIA Headquarters - Greta is alive and she wants her baby
Estefi tells Susana that her little brother didn’t deserve to be found out. Susana can’t believe that this is happening to her. Moto comes in and tells Susana that she has to leave. Laz follows her in. Estefi tells Moto and Laz that they will never be happy together and they will never have Agatha. Laz says that she is crazy and no one will take Agatha from him. You’re wrong says Estefi, “because the mother of Agatha will take her from you. You know why? Because Greta is alive. ” Caras de impactadas de Laz and Moto.

FELS comes into Vic’s study saying that he is under arrest and finds no Vic - only a dead Cobra.
Vic is driving away. He says, “never applaud
a magician before the end of the show. A great magician always has another
trick up his sleeve.” A final trick that leaves everyone speechless and puts
the magician head and shoulders above everyone.

Ice Cream Freezer - Oh look, a new flavor!
FELS, Navier and Reina come into the ice cream freezer place. Navier says that he has traced Esmeeth’s cheep here. Navier is hunched over in pain. Reina asks what is wrong. Navier replies that it is nothing. It will pass. They go into the freezer and Esmeeth is unconscious or dead on the floor.

Susana says that she is sorry. She didn’t talk because she was afraid of being arrested. Moto can’t believe it. She asks where Greta has been hidden and if she knows about the baby. Moto demands that Estefi tell him everything. He can’t believe it either. He says that he had a dream that Greta was alive. Estefi says, ‘see doctorcito, he never loved you. Not him, not my brother. Izzy comes to Connie’s house. She lets him in. Izzy asks what happened. Christián says that he felt like talking to the dead and here he is - the resurrected Izzy. Christián says that he is going to kill Izzy.

Vic has arrived at some other house he has. He tells the baby that the final trick has to be extraordinary and come when it is least expected at the right minute. Flashback to Cobra telling Vic that she will escape with him, she will do anything for him. He hugs her and says how sweet it is that she loves him so much. He says that her love for him is infinite but (we see him taking the Injecto-Death 3000 bracelet off) but it is also “inutil” “useless.” He kills her.

The baby starts to cry. Vic says that he is sorry. His mother is gone but he still has Vic who will give him everything he needs and more.

the four red diamonds, no one will be able to stop him. The Black Falcon is making a comeback. He
calls ORBO padre.
Reina tells Navier that Esmeeth died
thinking Nav was dead [that’s not true]. Navier says that she died thinking
that he didn’t care about her [whose fault was that?].
One Month Later
Hotel Ballroom- We know the Black Falcon can't resist the Fourth Red Diamond
The fourth red diamond is in a case in what looks like a hotel ballroom. the CIA guys open fire and the figure falls.

I still feel like there are so many loose ends/unanswered questions, but as I said, this is my first experience of telenovelas, so maybe this end-of-run craziness is the norm.
So who is the jewel thief in the black mask? It can't be Victor? No way he could do those acrobatics, the amount of booze and cigars he ingests!

Vivi - I think the Juanjo surprise was another homage to Agatha Christie, just like Laz & Greta's daughter being named "Agatha. "

I rewatched the first two episodes of Reina recently before Tijeramundo takes them off On Demand. It was really fun to see the beginning of the novela again.

First of all, thank you to the recappers for making an incomprehensible mess understandable again. I am new to this site -- I only found it after I was trying to figure out what the heck was going on with the seriously truncated episodes. Without you guys, I would have been lost!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Now, on to a comment about the plot. Your comments made me wonder about the Cobra. Does it really make sense that she was the only Coyote kid that wasn't in some way involved in this Everybody Hate Reina grudge match??? The truth is, I don't think her character made much sense ever, but who am I to look for logic in a telenovela! :-)

Encantada, I totally did not even think about Cobra also being eligible for membership in the "reina ruined my life" club. Other than Christian being protective, I would also say it was because Estefi would only allow one BSC alpha female & she occupied that spot.

Although we had to do a 180 on JuanJo, I think that for the 1 1/2 episodes that he had to play BSC he did it well. He had this manic "don't look at him weird or he'll cut you" persona that IMHO worked. & I liked how the writers were able to totally surprise us. & although I wasn't much of a fan of Susana, wish she could of had her happy ending.

jlk, great point about Estefi being the only BSC Alpha Female. There would have been no room for Cobra in the club, even if she hadn't made her play for Victor. It had to be Estefi and the Lost Boys.

This was such a great penultimate episode. I'm still shocked over Juanjo being bad. I never would have guessed he'd turn out being bad.
Estefy was definitely the Alpha Female in all this. It seems like she recruited both Christian and Juanjo and brainwashed them and filled them with hate.
I loved how we were treated to a similar scene of when Reina and Navier met. It was a great scene.

I'm a bit confused about what FELS knew and didn't know about all that Stefi was doing. Are we to now believe that all the inside info she got was not from him but from Juanjo and Cristian, because FELS would not do anything illegal?

What about Estefi's long-standing relationship with Mauro Montalban? Maybe we should assume he was feeding her information for years.
Christian wasn't a CIA insider and Juanjo's access to information was limited, though he always knew what Navier was thinking because Navier trusted him completely (as did we!)

My favorites:
"Oh no! Juanjo unfriended me on Facebook." The look was perfect, the situation perfect.
"Want to see me juggle?" Ditto the above.
"I'm practicing for the part of "Grumpy" in Snow White" Ditto the above.
"You forgot the marshmallows?"
