1/13 TUE Hasta el Fin del Mundo #104 Not Armando’s finest hour.
Oficina de Alexa
Alexa tells Irais she’s planning to dedicate herself to what
she really cares for. ruh-roh
Dani barges in, complaining about Alexa’s decision to
support Sofia’s resignation. Alexa
explains she only did what Sofia asked.
Sofia needs to “find herself” and needs some alone time. “Mal onda, neta!” opines Dani. Alexa agrees she never would have thought of
taking over the reins but Sofia needed her.
She feels Sofia will soon realize she needs to return and Alexa has the
“perfect plan”. She’s not divulging the
details, but in less than a week Sofia – and the other partners – will agree
that Sofia must return. Que te lo digo
yo! (shot # 1)
Street Walker
Fancy Mercedes drives up to Sofia. “hey, baby, how about a date?” Sofia’s turns him down as usual and as usual
Chava won’t take no for an answer. He
jumps out of the car, noticing something’s wrong. She admits she’s no longer CEO of Ripoll. (note: why would Chava be allowed to drive
this car in a greasy shirt?)
Casa Ripoll
Greta gives Fausto the deets on Sofia’s resignation. Worst of all she left Alexa in charge! Ay Caray.
Greta’s muy alterada (agitated). She wants her pills and her tea. She’s surprised to learn Iker’s still
there. She thought they had agreed he
was no longer needed. Fausto explains
he’s had a change of heart and thinks they should keep Iker on. Greta’s cool with whatever Fausto thinks but
she wants her tea now.
Back on the Street
Sofia feels she has to explain she’s got some personal
issues to consider and admits it’s the same reason for which she jilted
Patricio. He starts to ramble on that no
matter what, she’ll always be……thankfully, she stops him and asks if he would
help her find someone. He stops leg
humping long enough to tilt his head….just like dogs do. HA!
Empresa Ripoll
Alexa is walking the halls with Armie and is surprised at
how quickly everyone is so friendly with her since she became CEO and she
doesn’t like it! She lays it on him that
she looking for work as an actress again.
This is her true calling. Armie
fills her in on Irma’s delusion that their marriage as a happy one. Ostras! Alexa is not amused and isn’t buying
what Irma’s selling. She feels Irma’s
capable of anything to keep him by her side and is playing up her amnesia.
Hospital
Irma is clearly still in pain as she continues to
recover. She keeps replaying in her mind
the day Renzi sent her flying. Even more
painfully, she recalls his threat to Nandito if she opens her mouth! She is freaking out.
Still on the Street
Sofia gives Chava the name Cipriano Fuentes but won’t really
go into detail why she wants to find him.
Chava doesn’t consider himself a detective but if it means that much to
her he’ll do it even though their lives have taken different paths. She’ll get back to him with the details. After she leaves, he admits to himself he
still loves her and that’s why it’s so hard to say no to her.
Renzi’s Office
Manjarrez is reporting on Irma’s condition. She doesn’t even remember working at a real
estate office nor does she remember the marital difficulties. Renzi’s not sure this loss of memory is
permanent. For now, Manjarrez is to
maintain his friendship with the nurse to stay informed.
Casa Ripoll
Iker calls Sylvana to tell her he’s still working at the
manse, having befriended Fausto by making him believe they share the same interests. She’s happy at the news and tells him to
speed things up and increase the dosage to hasten the damage to Greta’s heart. He’s concerned about leaving a trail of
evidence. In the end, he concedes and
Sylvana says it’s time for their mother to rest in peace by having Greta pay
for her death. bwa-ha-ha!
Empresa Ripoll
She’s rifling through Ripoll employee archives and finds a
file
On the Street
Armie has caught up with Chava who tells him he’s concerned
about Sofia (what else). Armie confirms
she resigned but gave no reason. He also
tells him Alexa is now in charge. Alexa
isn’t comfortable with this decision and says she’ll refuse to accept the position. Chava still doesn’t understand how Sofia
could have given up the job. Armie
agrees. He knows something serious is up
with the Ripolls but Alexa won’t let on what it could be. Chava figures it has to do with that guy she
wants him to find. Armie doesn’t
recognize the name Cipriano Fuentes and why would she ask him for help, why not
Patricio. Why would she confide in Chava
and not Pato? Chava would like to think
that maybe, just maybe. “No maybe, Chava,” says Armie. “She’s made it very clear there isn’t
anything between them. Who knows why
she’s asked for your help but don’t read anything more into it. Otherwise, you’ll never get over it.” Chava fears he’ll never get over it.
Casa de Paco
Oh Lordy, Paco is
trying to reason with Aracely. “Ok, so
maybe Pedro didn’t float your boat, but Chava has clearly hasn’t forgotten
Sofia.” Aracely maintains that Chava
just needs time to come to his senses. Girl, he’s just not into you! Accept it! She wants to drop the subject.
Comandante Tavares comes by for an update on Irma’s
condition. Comandante wants them to keep
him informed on anything Irma says. It could help with the investigation. He tells them Renzi claims to have been out
of town and the office was closed on That Fateful Day. However, the maintenance worker knows the
office was open. hmmmm
Casting Call
Alexa auditions. The
casting director is clearly not impressed with the other models. He’s looking for someone fresh! Intense! Someone like……..her! (Alexa) She’s what I’m looking for! Who me?
Yes! Yes! Her face! Her eyes! Those lips!
Divine! The job is to advertise lipstick
(labial). He has thousands of ideas for the storyboard
and wants to sign her up tomorrow.
Director introduces himself as Guillermo Echevarria
The Wrong Side of the
Tracks
Sofia is knocking on a rusted out door in an unseemly
neighborhood, looking for Cipriano Fuentes
A very hostile, talkative woman answers and says, yeah she knows that canalla (swine)! “Yeah, he was my man but he forgot I was his
woman. He left me years ago with no
money, no nothing. I don’t know where he
is. All I know is that whenever he got
drunk, he would threaten to take off to Tirco, near Toluca. His brother Ponciano supposedly owns a
successful taquerÍa there. By the way,
now that I’ve given all that info, why are you looking for him?” Sofia stammers that he at one time worked for
Ripoll. “That lazy a** had a job? It’s a good thing we never had children, or who
knows how they would’ve turned out with that scum as a father.” (gee,
how do you really feel?) Sofia
thanks her and leaves her card in case she hears from him. Maybe
being Gustavo’s stepdaughter isn’t so bad after all, right princess?
Empresa Ripoll
Irais complains to Matias that Alexa doesn’t want anything
to do with being in charge of Ripoll.
She’s left Irais with all this work that’s due to Sylvana and she
doesn’t know what she’s gonna do. She
gets a call from her sister, Jobeth (Williams?) who’s at the airport. This is all news to Irais. Matias offers to pick her up. Irais says he can’t miss her. She’s wearing a red dress and looks just like
her, they’re twins! Well, they’re twins
but don’t really look alike. ruh-roh,
competition for Irais?
Casa de Chava
Aracely calls Chava and tells him about Tavares’ visit and
what he told them about Renzi’s offices being open the day of Irma’s
accident. Achis! Achis! Chava knows Renzi reported otherwise. Aracely is on her way to the hospital and
will see if Irma remembers anything.
Chava will meet her there.
Casa Ripoll
Iker prepares another tea and adds four drops of the “special something” but no tell-tale drop
sounds this time. Greta walks in just
then but doesn’t want to drink it now.
She’ll have it after dinner.
She’s worried about the reaction to the news at Ripoll that Alexa is now
in charge. She leaves and as Iker goes
to dump the tea, Miguelina walks in and tells him not to waste it. She’ll drink it! He hesitates and drops the cup as they
struggle over it. It smashes to the
floor but we don’t see if it eats through the tile as we’ve seen in so many
comedies.
Lucas/Ollie –
Lennon/McCartney they’re not
Lucas sings of heartbreak as he thinks of Dani. Dani and Ollie walk in and listen. Superlindo!
Que chido. Ollie wants to share
some songs he’s written and a battle royale ensues. Lucas:
hey, I’m the songwriter here.
Ollie: I can write songs
too. Lucas: yeah, but my songs have more
feeling. ouch!
Singing Studio
Marisol wants to take Singing lessons?
Airport
Matias looks for Irais’ look alike. In walks a very sultry woman in a tight,
short, red dress (think Jessica Rabbit).
Órale, says Matias. He is
smitten!
Hospital – no pressure,
Irma but you MUST REMEMBER
Armie arrives and he’s brought along Chava and Aracely to
see if she remembers them. She does. Aracely
asks if she remembers going to the real estate office The Fateful Day. She asks if she found anything. Irma starts to hyperventilate and the
machines start to beep rapidly. “I don’t
remember!” Aracely continues to insist
she remember what happened that day.
Irma struggles to speak and tells them she’s sorry but her head is
muddled. Doctor arrives and tells them
not to aggravate his patient. Irma tearfully
says she’s trying to remember, but can’t.
Doctor forbids more questions and complains there are too many people in
the room. Aracely agrees but just wants
to say goodbye. Doctor will order more
tests and if everything goes well, Irma will be released tomorrow. Aracely says Nandito will be so happy to see
her at home. Irma asks if Armie would
also be happy. Armie reluctantly says he
will, sure. Chava takes his leave, but
not before insisting that Irma continue to try to remember something – cuz it’s
really important.
In the hallway, Chava
tells Aracely he thinks it’s interesting that Irma reacted the way she did when
asked about the real estate office.
Would she have reacted that way if she didn’t remember anything? Aracely wonders if Irma is just afraid to say
anything. Chava agrees it could be but
also thinks it’s possible the memory is too painful to bring up. They go over Renzi’s insistence that his
office was closed That Fateful Day. Chava
thinks it’s time to pay that tipo a visit at his office.
Empresa Ripoll
Sofia tells Patricio about the appalling locale where the
search for her “father” led her. Patricio
thinks she should have asked him to take her.
She doesn’t feel well and wants to go home (why didn’t she go directly there from the ratty neighborhood?)
Airport
Matias is so mesmerized by Jobeth that when he answers his
phone, he mistakenly says “buena” before correcting
himself. It’s Irais wondering if he
found her sis. He waxes poetic about
Jobeth being an optical illusion, dreamlike.
Irais: yeah, well she can be
quite apantallante (makes an
impression). Matias now hesitates to
approach Jobeth, saying she might not be willing to go with someone she’s never
met. Irais pooh-poohs this and tells him
to just introduce himself, Jobeth is expecting him. Chanting to himself, “si se puede, si se
puede” he approaches Jobeth and introduces himself. We find that Jobeth is quite different from
Irais, and not just in her looks. She’s
a snob! And she has a ton of luggage,
figuratively as well as realistically I’m sure.
Hospital
Irma was happy to see Chava and Aracely. She’s happy to know she’ll be back with her
son, her family. Man, Armie is taking no
prisoners. Although she is in tears and clearly
struggling even to speak, he charges ahead and tells her that even though she
doesn’t remember, they were having marital difficulties. Shouldn’t
he wait until a therapist is present? She
refuses to believe this, knowing they’ve always loved each other. Armie gets agitated and throws it in her face
about all those years she deceived him by making him believe Nandito was his
son! Doesn’t she remember when they took
Nando to meet his biological father?
Irma struggles to say she is remembering some things but thought she was
imagining it. She feels it’s horrible
what she did to him. He tells her it’s
the reason he decided to leave her. Nice.
Empresa Ripoll
Alexa tells Irais the good news about her audition. Irais worries that Alexa is just going to
dump her responsibilities at Ripoll. Alexa
insists her family must realize it’s not her calling. She wants to be an actress and do something
creative. She thinks the director is
brilliant, fascinating. Que te Lo Digo
yo! (Shot #2, hic). She instructs Irais
to come up with some story if anyone asks for her tomorrow.
Hospital
Armie now confronts her with the suicide attempt and the
impact that had on Nandito. Then, he had
to leave because she made his life miserable.
She even told Nandio about Alexa.
Irma is struggling to remember about Alexa. He can’t believe she doesn’t remember jumping
from the building. That’s why she’s
here! Irma refuses to believe she would
have jumped. “Well, you did!” he shouts
at her. “Nandito is the only reason I’m
here helping you and supporting you!
Nandito needs you. But once
you’ve recovered, we will once again be separated. I no longer want to be with you! When you’re released tomorrow I’ll take you to
your house.” Irma is crying and wonders if
he’ll leave her alone. He tells her
he’ll stay to take care of Nandito and as long as he’s there, he’ll also take
care of her but only until she recovers and it would be best that she doesn’t forget
that. “Don’t think I’m coming back to be
‘the happy family’.” This was a very
painful scene to watch.
Irais’ Depa
Matias and Jobeth finally arrive and he’s exhausted by his
effort carrying her luggage and his ogling.
He explains he’s also a designer but instead of designing with colores, pinto con savores. He boasts about his work and agrees he’ll
have her over to visit his office. She
asks him for his number. Her sister is
so boring, she’s sure she’ll need a guide
Casa Ripoll
Pato delivers Sofia safely at home and reminds her to let him
know when they’ll be leaving for Toluca.
She thanks him and tells him she loves.
Fausto reproaches Sofia for her decision to resign. Her mother is very affected by it. Alexa as
CEO? Please! Sofia is sure Alexa will
come up to speed with a little coaching.
She needs their confidence. On
another note, she tells him of her search for Cipriano Fuentes, her biological
father. “Gasp! Did you see him?” asks
Fausto (honestly, this guy’s reactions
are priceless). She didn’t but has
discovered he’s not a very nice guy.
Fausto counsels her to give up this quest and accept the man chosen by
her mother to be her father. Sofia won’t
give up that easily. She needs to meet
him.
Garage Band
Lucas/Ollie continue to argue over their songs. Dani comes up with the idea to try out a song
from each and see which one works best.
She fills in Marisol on the strategy when she walks in. Lucas sings his song of heartbreak. He’s singing directly to Dani, who’s in
tears. FF>>
Renzi’s Office
Pato meets with Renzi, telling him that while Sofia’s busy
looking for her father, he has time to destroy Ripoll. Renzi walks out with his Primaso but they
stop to talk in the lobby as Chava walks in and overhears them talking about
“our” plan to continue to convince the homeowners to sell their
properties. Aha! says Chava Holmes. “Our” plan?
Ya salio el peine (the comb is out – which is a considerable
feat considering all the product on Pato’s hair.) “This can only mean you
are involved in the property sales.” tan-tan-TAN!!!

I really had to hold myself back and not rant on the recap itself.
Armando is a bastard in how he treated Irma on tonight's episode. Viewerville has not been given any clue that Irma is faking the extent of her memory loss. The woman is clearly in pain and suffering and yet Armando has to rail against her while she is so vulnerable. I realize it was wrong of her not to be up front about Nandito's biological father but really -- you're going to yell at a woman in a hospital bed? Badly done, Armie. Shame on you!

Go Armando, tell it like it is. We all know that Irma knows what happened between her and Armie, and that she'll cont. doing what she'd done before(the intro gives it away). Seeing Armie give her a piece of his mind was a sweet consolation prize.

My suspicion about Armies treatment of Irma last night has to do with his plan to possibly force her to admit she has her complete memory back. Typical Spanish Telenovela plots. Have the villan kill a bunch of innocent children then fall in the bathtub and bump his/her/its head and have no recall of the masacre.
Thanks so much, Paquita! I watched last night's episode. I think Greta is being extremely cruel to Sofia, and Armie was cruel to Irma-- although she IS faking.
Chava really doesn't have much to do right now, does he? I think the writers have really taken a wrong turn here. Since they brought in a new actor to play Salvador, the way to build chemistry between the two actors and gain audience support for the couple, is to actually have them together, doing stuff together. I'm just not seeing the connection between these two at the moment. Chava and Sofia might as well be in separate telenovelas right now.
Actually, almost all of these characters might as well be in separate tns right now, because none of these stories are really connecting or gelling-- Irais-Mateo-her twin; Sofia on her wild goose chase for her fake daddy; the Wonder Bread Kid Band; the geriatric love quadrangle of Paco-Lupe- Javier-the Lush (Olie's mom); Renzi-Pato and the real estate scam; Alexa and her lipstick ad; Silvana-her brother and the plot to kill Greta; and Irma's recovery and deceit. Too many story lines and not enough of them connect!

Did anyone else see Chava's shower head made from a clear disposable water bottle with holes punched in the bottom? Frickin hilarious attention to detail. I hope they don't have far to go on that Honda Virage 250. :-)
Alexa is so crazy but so beautiful! It's a tie between her and Araceli. Sexy!

Alexa has been my favorite for a while. She has a smoking little body and she loves to roll around between the sheets. And she is just plain pretty. Decent legs too.
Sorry I'm late! I was once in Armando's shoes. A close relative of mine would not leave my house. ..for years! Mind you, I was paying all of the bills and paying for all of the food. The person kept stating that they were trying to get on their feet, but would not get a job. At times I'd find out that the person received checks (other relatives, small pensions), the person would hide the money and tell others not to tell me. One day my relative had a heart attack. Like Armando, I became so discouraged because I thought that I was was going to be stuck for life with that person. I was nice and that person took advantage of me. After awhile , you become bitter. The problem is, I was trying to be nice because I was afraid that people would think badly of me and I loved my relative. I acted like Armando after the heart attack. You all know exactly what Irma has done to Armando, but now you all think he's being a jerk because Irma is hurt. Being hurt doesn't change what Irma has done. It doesn't change that Armando wants to be free. He's discouraged and thinks that he's stuck. I know the feeling!
P.S. the relative finally moved out and refused to speak to me for about a year because was selfish by not wanting to continue supporting him/ her.
ITA. Armando is right. P L U S....Irkme is still dishonest and telling Armie her memory is gone. IE: She is still the lying cheating stealing Ho she was before the accident. I am not crying for her. I'll take flaky loveable honest Alexa any day (or night:-) )
