Episode 102: German Learns the Painful Truth
The police have just arrived at Dan’s with a warrant to search the place. Dan demands that they leave and the police say the place is suspected of being a brothel and Dan is suspected of holding various women prisoner there. Cris and Esteban emerge from the den, where they were just about to sign the contract. Dan denies, denies, denies, but Ale speaks up and says it’s all true! Cris is shocked. As Esteban asks for an explanation and everyone looks towards him, Dan takes the opportunity to grab Ale and hold her hostage with his knife against her neck. Like a fearless mama bear, Cris marches right up to him, past the armed police and tries to pull Ale out of Dan’s grasp, but Efrain grabs her and holds her at gun point! All the police draw their guns, but Dan threatens to kill if they don’t lower their weapons. The police chief complies and tells his men to drop their weapons, as Dan and Efrain drag the women outside. Efrain locks the cops and Esteban inside the house, as Ale and Cris fuss, and fight, and struggle to get free of the two psychos.

Ulises and Hector come running up to save the day and a six person struggle begins as the two heroes struggle to free the women and disarm and incapacitate the two killers. Uli holds Dan as Hector struggles with Efrain. Dan yells at Efrain to shoot! And he does. Alejandra goes down with a bullet to the abdomen! They all panic and surround her, even Dan, as Hector holds Efrain down. Thinking that Ale is dead, Dan quickly scrambles to his feet, just as the police emerge from a side door of the house with weapons drawn. They shoot and manage to blow his cane to smithereens, but he manages to get in his car and drive away before they can stop him. Ale loses consciousness as Cris wails, Uli and Hector look sad and horrified, and Este looks disappointed that he didn’t get that contract signed.

German goes through his artwork as he packs up and decides what to take to his new apartment. Elena comes in and sees the drawing of Alejandra he’s looking at. She asks about it and he explains how he drew Ale when he first saw her looking sad in a park, but he drew her with a smile anyway. Elena says that German still thinks of Ale, but he denies it unconvincingly. Elena tells him that there are some mementos best left in our memories or our hearts. German thinks she means he should get rid of the drawing of Ale, and is about to tear it up when she stops him. She wants to keep it. German smiles and happily gifts it to her. Since she and JC were planning on going to San Miguel that afternoon to finally see his exhibit, he offers to take them. He was taking a painting there anyway.

Norberto tells Juliana about the engagement between Manuel and Acacia and they happily toast with tequila. Their years of waiting are over.

Acacia and Manuel have coffee and argue about their future. Acacia wants to move far, far away. Not even Mexico City, since that’s where Esteban is setting up his business. Manuel, for once, sounds responsible. He doesn’t want to abandon his dad with all the work at the association and finca, and he wants to set up his business and make a good life for her. Acacia says she doesn’t need much, but Manuel insists that they not go too far away from the area. She concedes and begs him to have his parents keep quiet about the wedding for now until he formally asks for her hand.

Juli asks Norb how Manuel convinced Acacia. He glosses over that and doesn’t mention that it was the other way around. The important thing is that they are going to get married. Juli wants to run off to speak to Cris about it, but Norb stops her. Cris doesn’t know yet, and he doesn’t want Juli to ruin it. He then points out that he’s sure Juli will want to share in the fruits of their marriage alliance with Acacia. If that’s the case, then Juli needs to realize that this is a long-term game (Benavente will eventually be inherited by a Palacios- the child of Acacia and Manuel), and she needs to be a team player and act like his wife for real.

The police gather up all the girls in the living room. The chief speaks with Perla and Julianita. Perla is denying that this is a brothel, while J-nita is falling apart and crying. One of the cops brings some of the evidence he has found to the chief—some ledgers and a cell phone they found hidden in a bedroom.

Luisa pays a surprise visit to Arturo at Uli’s house. She came because he sounded so stressed when they spoke on the phone. He plays it off (just worried about my brother running off to take down a murdering, kidnapping pimp, that’s all), and invites her in. She asks him about the mystery girl Acacia saw with Uli and tells him how sad Acacia was. She is sure Acacia still loves Uli. Art says it was Estrella—a friend of Ale. Uli hasn’t dated anyone since Acacia. Art is convinced he still loves Acacia.

At the hospital, Cris frets in the waiting room, accompanied by Ulises, Hector, and a hovering Este. Hector tells them this was why he called to prevent them from going to Dan’s. Este asks how were they to know that Dan was a murdering, kidnapping pimp? Cris can’t imagine how much Ale must have suffered, and how they were all taken in by that horrible man. She’s so happy they didn’t sign that contract. Este wonders how Ale didn’t know about Dan’s dirty biz. Hector says Ale always knew. Cris is shocked, so Hector prepares her for the news by saying this is worse than they can imagine. He tells them that Ale married Dan so that he wouldn’t kill German or Acacia. That wakes Este up. Acacia is in danger?! Cris looks horrified.

The cops cuff J-nita and Perla and perp walk them to the squad car. They see the blood puddle and ask who was shot, but the police tell them nothing.

Uli informs everyone in the waiting room that the police have Dan’s picture and an APB out on him. Police are guarding Ale’s hospital room and Benavente. Cris still wants them to find Acacia. Uli and Este fight over who should go get her, and nearly come to blows before Hector intervenes. “Gentlemen! Calm down! We are in a hospital.”  He advises Cris to call Acacia and have her come to the hospital right away. He’s also sure that at this very moment Dan’s priority is to hide out. Andres comes out of the operating room and informs them that although Ale lost a lot of blood, the bullet did not hit any vital organs. Ale is still in the operating room, but she should pull through just fine. They are all greatly relieved. Uli thinks they should tell German. Cris agrees, but not right now. He’s driving her parents to San Miguel and she doesn’t want him to receive this shocking news while he’s driving.

Manuel is just going in for a kiss, when Acacia gets the call from Cris about Ale being in the hospital. She asks Acacia to come right away, and Manuel tags along.

All the girls have filled up the jail cells. J-nita and Perla share a cell and Perla curses herself for trusting Ale. She’s sure Ale was behind this, and is now enjoying her freedom somewhere else. J-nita can’t believe it. Perla points out the hidden cell phone the police found. J-nita panics about her father finding out what she was doing for a living and about not being able to send her family money while she’s locked up. They both wonder who was shot.

Acacia and Manuel arrive in the waiting room and Cris tells them Ale was shot. Esteban says that Dan was running a brothel and Ale was kept there by force. Acacia is impactada.

Uli and Hector go to see Perla and J-nita. Perla calls Uli a traitor, and he swears he did it to trap Dan, not to get them in trouble. He says they will be ok, and Hector backs him up by saying they will be fine if they testify against Dan. He introduces himself as their lawyer. Perla is skeptical. Uli thanks her for what she did for Estrella. Perla rants that to save one, the rest of them have to go down. Uli says that Ale always intended for all of them to go free. J-nita demands to know where Ale is then. He breaks the news that she was shot, but she’s going to be fine. He also breaks the news that Dan escaped. Perla loses it. She knows he’s going to kill them. He has eyes everywhere! She drops the bomb that it was Dan who had Nuria killed in prison and ordered the hit on Uli in prison. Uli wants her to tell them everything!

Acacia suddenly realizes that the man who abused Ale was not her father, but Dan! “Poor Alejandra!” Manuel says his brother is going to die when he finds out. He demands to know why Acacia never told German what she knew about Ale. “Because Alejandra begged me not to. She didn’t have the courage to tell him.” Acacia then lights into Esteban about wanting to do business with that jerk. Esteban defends himself and says he didn’t know. “Danilo fooled us all!” Manuel says he will inform Norberto. If his brother is in danger, they’ll see how they (Norb and Manuel) defend him!

Acacia apologizes to Cris for not telling her earlier about Ale. Had she spoken up, probably none of this would have happened. Cris and Acacia hug, as Este looks on like he’s not pleased that mother and daughter are so bonded.

Hector tells Perla that if she cooperates, even though she was Dan’s accomplice, as her lawyer he’ll be able to get her out. Perla isn’t sure to believe whether or not they are just trying to trap her again. Hector explains that she too was a victim of Danilo, and was obligated to obey him and help him. He says the law will protect her. J-nita urges her to cooperate with them so that she can be free to be with Memo. Hector latches on to the name like a pitbull. “Perla, who is Memo?”

German rushes into the hospital in a panic, while on the phone with Ulises. He runs into his dad Andres, and asks how Ale is. All he's been told is that she’s been shot. Andres takes him to Ale’s room.

Dan hobbles into a seedy hotel room, illuminated by flashing exterior neon lights. The proprietor is a friend of Johnny who owed him a favor. He hands Dan a bottle of liquor in a classy paper bag and tells him that the chick they shot is not dead. Dan says that Perla is the only woman he can trust, but it’s not convenient for him to call her right now. But that wretch, Alejandra, he will now for sure KILL! He takes a swig of tequila.

German enters Ale’s room as she sleeps, kneels down beside her bed, and takes her hand and kisses it. “My love, you have to get well.”

Dan continues to rant to his new buddy about all the things he needs—money, a gun, a cane, and TIME. But he swears that he’ll get revenge on Alejandra. His new buddy points out that his priority as a fugitive should be to get far away, but Dan isn’t listening. He hands Dan a burner cell phone, untraceable. Dan tosses him one of his rings as payment. Dan calls Johnny and says he knows who turned him in, and he will personally take care of her. Johnny doesn’t have to worry because the cops don’t know where their new drug growing and packing place is located. But he needs money and a few other things. He tells Johnny that he doesn’t have to rush. He’ll take time to plan things out well.

Ale finally wakes up to find German by her side, holding her hand. She immediately smiles and calls his name—happy that he’s well. She didn’t want Dan to kill him. German is totally confused about what she’s talking about. Ale says it’s time to tell him the whole truth. She’s sure once he knows, he won’t want anything to do with her. She’ll tell him about her whole past and why she married Danilo. German starts to cry and asks if Dan did this to her. He starts pacing and saying he’s capable of killing Dan! Ale points out that this is why she didn’t want to tell him anything before. “Well, explain. Because I’m at the point of going crazy.” Ale begins to tell the whole sad and sordid tale. “My father didn’t sexually abuse me…my mother sold me to Dan when I was 13 to work in his brothel…”  German looks like he’s being kicked repeatedly in the gut with each new revelation. He doesn’t know what to say. He would have never imagined this. Ale continues and asks him to just listen to the end. German holds his head and cries.

In the waiting room, Acacia is chomping at the bit to go in to see Ale, but Cris doesn’t think it would be good for Ale to see Acacia so worked up. Esteban, being totally useless through this whole ordeal, points out to Acacia that this could have been avoided had she told them the truth from the beginning. (Thank you, Captain Obvious!) The two start to bicker. They mention how the police and extra men have been posted at Benavente to provide protection. Manuel also says he’ll protect Acacia. Este sneers at him, and basically tells him to let the real men do the protecting. Andres comes to tell them that Ale is finally awake and German is with her. Manuel doesn’t think German will ever forgive Alejandra. (Cris has a WTF look on her face, and so do I. Shut up, Manuel!)

Ale ends her tale detailing some of the things Dan has done to her to keep her in line during the years of prostitution and the time in their forced marriage to protect the people she loved. He let her brother die, he murdered her mother, he carved the scar on her face, and she also carries scars in her soul. Ale is bawling now, letting it all out. In a very male reaction, German gets angry and says Dan has to pay!
G: Why didn’t you tell me? Why? I would have found a way to help you. (He gets on his knees and takes her hand, sobbing.) Forgive me please. I don’t know what to do. It fills me with rage that this was done to you, in the vilest way! (He punches the bed frame.)

Ale says she knew he would react this way. She didn’t want him to stain his hands with blood killing Dan, or worse yet, being killed by Dan. German loses it and starts pounding on the bed, yelling that he’s capable of killing Dan with his bare hands! Ale asks for his forgiveness, but she loves him too much to let him do that. German asks where that asshole is. Did they catch him? Ale says, “I hope so. Because if not, I won’t be able to live in peace knowing that Danilo is looking for me.” German takes her in his arms and says he won’t let anything happen to her, not anymore.

Meanwhile, poor Lizzy has been waiting for German for over an hour, and her dad isn’t letting her forget. She says this is unusual of German, and he probably just got absorbed painting. Dad’s not having it. He sends Lizzy home to her mama, and remains in the store waiting to give German a piece of his mind.

Ale and German continue to talk. Ale regrets having hurt him so much with this truth.
G:  Believe me that I regret it more. You don’t know how much it hurts that you didn’t tell me earlier, when we would have been in time to avoid everything.
A: I know.
G: Why? Did you think I wasn’t mature enough to understand your past? You didn’t believe in my unconditional love?
A: I was scared that you’d be ashamed that I had been a prostitute. I was scared that you would reject me, that you would think I was dirty/impure.
G: Don’t you realize that I loved you so much, that none of that would have been important to me?

German says that the lie hurts him more than anything she might have done in her past. He flies into a rage again thinking about all Dan did to her for years! This time he slams the bed so hard that Ale visibly doubles over in pain. He quickly apologizes and calms down.
G: The worst thing is, now that I know the truth…
A: You’re about to marry Lizzy.
They look at each other with tears, sadness, and regret in their eyes.

Norb arrives at the hospital at Manuel’s bidding. Manuel gets right to the point about what his buddy Dan has been up to. Manuel demands to know if Norb knew about the prostitutes and drugs. Norb denies knowledge, but then cautiously asks if the police caught Dan. Manuel eyes him suspiciously and says he escaped, then asks Norb if he knew that Ale worked as a prostitute for Dan (mind you, he doesn’t say was forced into prostitution as a child by Dan). Norb looks as guilty as sin.

Both Ale and German have calmed down now, and he sits opposite her on the couch. She apologizes again for not telling him the truth, and says she doesn’t expect him to get back together with her. He says it’s now too late.
G: When I thought I had lost you, I tried not to think about you. I decided to remake my life.
A: I know. I want you to be happy with Lizzy. You deserve a woman who is good and pure, without a past.
German says Ale is a wonderful woman—the most dignified woman he knows. She doesn’t have to feel bad about herself or impure. In his eyes, she’s pure. What happened wasn’t her fault. “You’re so good, that you were capable of sacrificing for me, despite the suffering you had to endure daily.” He hugs her tightly and then leans in for a kiss that’s interrupted by Andres coming to kick him out. Ale has to rest and get her meds. German leans in and whispers in Ale’s ear: “I would have loved you, no matter what.” They look deep into each others eyes, and he leaves. Ale sends Andres after German—he needs him. Once alone, Ale starts to weep.

Norb continues to deny that he knew anything, but Manuel now sees things clearly. The brothel he took him to was Dan’s, and the friend he had kidnap Uli was Dan! Manuel can’t believe Norb put them all, and especially Acacia, in danger by associating with Dan. (Because he thought the mystery kidnappers were nice, cuddly guys? Shut up, Manuel!) Norb hugs him and swears he didn’t know Dan was involved in drugs. Manuel says he can’t believe how Norb and his mom continue to surprise him. He doesn’t believe a word he says and believes he knew what was happening with Ale. He walks away from Norb.

German tells Andres he doesn’t understand why Ale didn’t tell him the truth. Andres explains how these guys terrorize the women into keeping quiet—they control them with beatings and threats and make them feel that they are worth nothing. German says he understands so many things now and is mortified that he called her a gold-digger. Andres says neither of them has to feel guilty. “What do I do with what I feel for her?” Andres tells him to have faith. Things will work themselves out. He hugs a distraught German, as Norb approaches. Norb takes in the scene of his eldest child being comforted by his biological father, and decides sadly that he’s not needed. He walks away unseen.

Acacia sees Ale and they hug. Acacia wishes she had told her the truth. Ale now realizes that it’s always better to tell the whole truth from the beginning. She's happy, even though she can’t be with German. Acacia is sure she will be able to remake her life, little by little. Ale asks if the police have Dan. Acacia hesitates, then admits that he escaped. Ale freaks out that Dan is coming after her and German, and doubles over in pain.

Uli and Hector update Arturo. They decide they won’t tell Carmen until Dan is caught, and Art asks that they not tell Luisa either—because of her “state”. Uli wants to know what’s wrong with her, and Art uses the “exhaustion” excuse. Uh, huh. Hector will get his law firm working on the Eldemira Lopez (aka La Perla) case. Uli is going to the hospital to talk to German and to spend the night taking care of Ale.

Cris convinces Acacia to come home to rest. They gave Ale a sedative and she’s going to sleep through the night. Acacia says Manuel will take her back. She takes a moment to hug Cris and voice her gratitude for Cris not getting hurt, and for having the luck to have a mother like her. Unlike Ale (whose wretched drunken mama sold her into prostitution).

At the hacienda, JC is talking over the Dan situation and threat with Elena, Rosa, Luisa, and a very guilty looking Rubio. Luisa goes after Rubio and asks why he’s so worried about Dan. “Because he and I knew each other as kids.” He says that Luisa is right that the straight and narrow path is the best path. Luisa wants to rush off to the hospital to see Ale, but Rosa refuses to let her go. Instead, they’ll go to the chapel and pray for her.

Manuel finally manages to get German on the phone, but German doesn’t want to talk now. Manuel says how sorry he is. As he hangs up, he sees Uli enter the waiting room. They eye each other warily. Feeling he has won the war, Manuel decides it’s time for them to bury the hatchet and brings up what good friends they used to be. Uli agrees. Then Manuel causally drops the bomb that he and Acacia are getting married.

Campusano calls desperate Esteban. He obviously wants his money and doesn’t care that Dan ended up being a fraud. He hangs up on Este. (Remember that Este had one week to come up with the rest of the money, or Campusano was going to set the lawyers on him.)

Uli can’t believe it. Acacia wanted to go to college, travel and do many things before getting married! Acacia arrives and confirms what Manuel told him. “I don’t know why I’m surprised, because you never really loved me, right? What a shame that I didn’t realize before, but now it’s clear.” Acacia says it’s now clear to her that they are never getting back together, and she is going to spend the rest of her life with Manuel. Uli wishes them happiness and leaves.

Episode 103: Manuel and Acacia Play Romeo and Juliet
Cris walks into the bedroom and Este pretends he's still on the call with Campusano and he’s cut him off. He dredges up fake tears and tells Cris that because of Dan, Campusano is going to throw him in jail if he doesn’t come up with the rest of the money right away. Este says he tried to reason with Campusano. But it’s not jail that worries him—it’s leaving Cris all alone to deal with so many problems. “What am I going to do? Boo hoo, hoo!” Cris asks how much he needs. They kiss and hug, as Este thanks Cris.

Acacia scolds Manuel for telling Uli about their engagement when she hasn’t even told her mama yet. She asks if he did it to bug Uli. Manuel plays innocent. He wonders if seeing Uli has made her regret her decision. She denies it, and says Manuel is right that it was best for Uli to find out now. She assures him she’s not mad at him. They decide to go break the news to Cris and Esteban.

Uli speaks to a sleeping Ale and pours his heart out about Acacia. He realizes that he held out hope that they would one day get back together. “Acacia never loved me like I loved her.” Ale wakes up. He tells Ale how much he admires her and kisses her forehead. Ale thanks him for all he did to free her. She asks about Estrella and the other girls. She thanks God for Estrella being safe, and wonders what’s going to happen to the girls in jail.

Manuel and Acacia return to Benavente, looking very chummy. JC is up reading in the living room. He couldn’t sleep and asks for an update on Ale. He heads to bed and tells Manuel not to go home too late. Acacia says they’ll have to wait till tomorrow for the big announcement. Manuel kisses her, and doesn’t see the unsure look on her face as they hug. He then kisses her again, and this time gets more handsy and intense. She pushes him away. He asks her if she knows what being a married couple will signify (i.e. having SEX). Acacia says she just needs a bit more time. He asks her again, if she really wants to go through with this. Acacia plays it off and says she loves (querer) him because he takes care of her and always helps her move forward. Another hug and another unsure look from Acacia.

The next day, Este bites Rubio’s head off about knowing Dan was crooked. He has figured out that Dan was the friend who had Uli kidnapped. Rubio swears he just found out about all Dan’s dirty biz. Este is ticked off that because of Dan he has lost a lot of money. Rubio swears his loyalty to Este.

German shows up at the Soto Mart and apologizes for not showing or calling the evening before. He says he was with Ale. He tells Lizzy that the police went after Dan and Ale got shot. Lizzy thinks it’s too bad that Ale has a criminal husband, but what’s that go to do with German? Why did he go to the hospital? She reminds him they have made a truth pact, even if it hurts. He tells her the whole truth, how Ale married Dan to protect him.

Cris visits Ale and tells her she is like another daughter to her. She doesn’t know how to thank her for what she did for Acacia. Ale thanks them for being like family to her. It was the least she could do. Ale is being released tomorrow and Cris insists she come home to the hacienda. Ale is unsure since German is there. Cris is sure he’ll feel more at ease with Ale safe at the guarded hacienda. They will both be protected there.

Acacia runs into Hector at the hospital and thanks him for saving Cris and helping Ale. They hug. Hectors says Ale is a wonderful girl. He updates her on his trip to Italy. His son is getting married to a great girl who was his son’s best friend since they were kids. Cris walks up and Acacia leaves them alone. Cris thanks him for risking his life for her. He says she knows why he did it. He left to be far away from her, but destiny brought him back to her. He tells her he loves her, but will only be around for as long as it takes to get the girls out of jail. Then he’s leaving again. After he leaves, Cris gets teary and softly calls out his name.

Lizzy is worried German is in danger. She is relieved that German just went to the hospital to get the truth from Ale, and still wants to marry her, right? German affirms he wants to be with Lizzy and kisses her, but when they hug, his face says something different.

Perla and J-nita fret in their jail cell. J-nita wants to spill all and get out of jail, but Perla is scared about Dan’s retribution if she squeals.

Esteban tries to squeeze more money out of Cris, in addition to what he got out of her the evening before. Campusano has been appeased for now, but they still need to make up for the rest of the money Dan was supposed to invest. He tries to convince Cris to raid her retirement fund for the money.

Uli tells Art about the Manuel-Acacia nuptials. Art gets ticked off. “How can he marry Acacia after what he did to Luisa?!” Uli wants to know what he’s getting so worked up about, as if Manuel did something to him. Art plays it off. It’s enough that he toyed with the woman he loves. Art shares Luisa’s theory that Acacia still loves him. “If you still love her, speak to her. Don’t let Manuel get his way.”

Acacia and Manuel come in as Este is kissing Cris and trying to get more money out of her. Este tells Acacia that with the Dan threat, he doesn’t think she should be leaving the hacienda. Manuel says she is safe with him, and Este once again insults his manhood by saying he’s not capable of protecting Acacia. They are about to get into another argument when Acacia jumps in front of Manuel and drops the bomb that they are getting married!

Cris doesn’t understand. As much as Cris loves Manuel, she has to be honest and say that Acacia isn't in love (amar) with him. Cris tells the men that she needs to speak to her daughter, ALONE. Este asks Manuel if he didn’t hear that invitation for him to leave. Acacia gets in Esteban’s face and tells him to BUTT OUT. “You are not my father. This is something that I am only going to speak to my mother about.” Manuel takes his leave and kisses Acacia goodbye. Este hovers and gives one of his blank stares. Acacia asks what he’s waiting for, and Cris asks him to leave. He slinks away.

Cris wants an explanation for this madness. It came out of nowhere! Acacia gives her vague excuses for how this would be a good marriage and that Manuel loves her. “I don’t doubt that he loves you. But YOU don’t love HIM!”

Rosa once again refuses to let Luisa go visit Ale, even though Luisa felt Ale sounded sad over the phone. Rosa refuses to let her expose herself and the baby to hospital germs. In any case, Ale will be coming back to live in the hacienda tomorrow. German walks in and asks if it’s true Ale’s moving in. Rosa awkwardly confirms and leaves. Luisa asks if German is going to keep going with Lizzy. He says he will, but takes Luisa’s hand and asks her to take care of Ale and to tell him if Ale ever needs anything.

Esteban takes out his frustration about Acacia and Manuel getting married with his machete on some wood. Rubio watches and enjoys the show.

Cris wants to know what happened to college and all of Acacia’s other plans? “What’s the motive? Are you pregnant? What is happening with you?” Acacia says she will continue school, while being married. Cris thinks she’s marrying Manuel out of spite. “Because you love someone else.” Acacia looks 50 shades of guilty.

Art confronts Manuel on Benavente lands and asks how he’s going to marry Acacia after the way he treated Luisa. Luisa overhears and looks stricken by this news. Luisa wonders why Acacia didn’t tell her, but holds her head high and says Manuel and Acacia are free to do what they choose. She’ll speak to Acacia about it later. She collapses to the ground and sobs after Manuel leaves. “This can’t be! It can’t be!” Art asks if she’s still in love with that worthless wretch.

Cris, of course, thinks the man Acacia still loves is Uli. Acacia denies it. She thinks this wedding is best for everyone. Best for Cris. Best for herself and Manuel and everyone. Cris doesn’t understand this crazy logic. She doesn’t want Acacia to ruin the rest of her life with an impulsive decision. Acacia cryptically says that they only thing that will ruin her life is remaining in that house. She runs off to her room, leaving a very confused Cris.

In her bedroom, Acacia is horrified to find a machete wielding Este has entered her room through her window. She backs up against her bedpost and he tosses the machete to the floor before going to lock her door. He tells her the only way she is marrying Manuel is over his dead body!

Rubio sees a distraught Luisa approaching the house with Art. Luckily he does not hear her say that the father of her child is about to marry her best friend. Art asks if she still loves Manuel. Luisa hesitates in answering. Art has had enough—he’s realized that she’ll never love him, no matter what he does. He leaves Luisa crying, and Rubio approaches to rub more salt into the wound, saying she must have found out about Manuel and Acacia.

Esteloco grabs Acacia by her arms and says she belongs to him and no-one else! Acacia is really scared now and says he is hurting her. “It’s no worse than what you are doing to me!” He knows she is running to Manuel to run away from what she feels for him. Acacia says she was lonely and confused and acted stupidly, but she does NOT love him and never will. “Don’t lie! Admit it. You feel the same passion as I do.” He pins her against the bedpost and she struggles to get free, and tries to force a kiss on her. His assault is halted by JC knocking on Acacia’s door calling to her. Este grabs Acacia and whispers in her ear that if she says anything, he will tell Cris that she tried to seduce him. That she came to the hacienda to set a trap for him to prove that he doesn’t love Cris. She planned it all to destroy their family. He warns her to be careful what she says, as he grabs her neck and then rubs his nasty fingers over her mouth. Then the jerk has the nerve to open the door and invite JC in to talk some sense into this girl. He causally strolls out the door, as JC looks at perturbed Acacia and seems to sense something is wrong.

Rosa finds Luisa crying in their room, and wonders if she’s ok or needs a doctor. Luisa says she had a fight with Art. Rosa gets worried that they’ve called off the wedding. Luisa tells her not to worry, it’s nothing major.

JC also tries to find out why the heck Acacia has made such a crazy decision. Acacia discretely kicks the machete under her bed, as she asks for JC’s help to convince Cris and Elena, who have just walked into the room. Acacia says she needs to marry Manuel to forget everything. Because that somehow makes sense. She cries and tries to convince them that her querer love for Manuel is just what it takes for a marriage to work. They still don’t get it, so Acacia goes back to one of her default settings—threats. She’s old enough to do what she wants with her life, and she will! JC pulls out the disappointment card, so Acacia tries soft-touch Elena. She’s not having it either. The abuelos leave Acacia and Cris alone. Cris asks her to think hard about what she’s doing and leaves.

Hector tells Perla and J-nita that the government will provide psychological services for all the girls. Perla wonders why all the other girls are free, but she and J-nit are still locked up. It’s because there is proof of Perla and J-nita being Dan’s accomplices—which could get them more than 40 years in jail! Hector reminds Perla how she can get out. By telling all. J-nita will totally testify. Perla wants to know if the same deal applies to Memo. Hector says his charges are more serious, with the drugs and kidnapping of Uli. But they could get a reduced sentence for him if he cooperates.

Manuel reports to Norb and Juli about Este’s hissy fit, and Cris’ disapproval. Juli will go speak to Cris to convince her. Suddenly, Este’s approaching voice yells out that he’s not going to allow it. Norb points out that they are friends and neighbors. Este gets to the truth—Norb just wants to get his hands on Benavente lands. Juli points out that Manuel has always loved Acacia. Este yells back that she doesn’t love him, just as Cris enters and tells everyone to calm down. They can’t settle this yelling. Cris is sure they all agree that this wedding cannot happen. Juli and Norb disagree.

Luisa bursts into Acacia’s room and asks why she did it. Why is she marrying Manuel?!

Cris can understand the kids being unreasonable, but she’s shocked Juli and Norb are also buying into this foolishness. Juli and Norb try to play up how responsible Manuel is now, with his own business. Cris doesn’t care. Manuel and Acacia have barely dated or been novios. How in the world are they prepared for marriage? Juli says all marriages adjust over time. (Really, Juli? Do you think anyone would take marriage advice from you?) Cris doesn’t want either of them to be hurt by this rash decision. Este and Manuel shout at each other. Juli tries to lay on the charm. Norb shouts that HE will support them. Cris says she’s not having this discussion shouting. She and they know very well that their kids aren’t ready for marriage, and they are making a huge mistake. She leaves. Manuel, Este and Norb have a staring contest. “Que?!”

Luisa demands to know why Acacia didn’t tell her that she and Manuel were so serious, if they are supposed to be friends. Acacia’s excuse that it all happened fast and she only just realized that she wants to spend her life with him. She would not have approached him if she had known Luisa still felt strongly about him, but she seemed so happy with Arturo. Luisa backs down and says she’s just upset because Manuel treated her so badly and she doesn’t want to see him do the same to Acacia. She asks Acacia if she is sure she loves him and wants to marry him. Acacia says it’s a done deal. Luisa tells her to forget what she said then. Perhaps Manuel will be different with her because he truly loves her. She wishes Acacia happiness with Manuel and leaves crying.

Perla is brought to the front desk at the police station to call Memo. Hector reminds her that it will be recorded. She tells Memo what’s going on, and that he will get a reduced sentence if he testifies, but still jail time. She tells him that she loves him, and then urges him to flee and to hang up! Hector and the police are like WTF?!

Esteban tries to bully Cris into bullying Acacia into not getting married. Cris is like, chill yo! I have to handle this situation with care. Este calls Manuel no good, like his daddy, and Cris gets ticked at him for insulting her godson. “Wake up Cris! Manuel shows you his best face, but I know how he is in reality!”

Ulises and German talk about Ale in front of Uli’s house. German thanks him for what he did. He tells Uli that they are going to tell Juli that Dan was in crooked biz and treated Ale badly, but they are not going to tell her everything about Ale’s past. German says Ale is sensitive about what she was obligated to do by that asshole. Uli thinks this is for the best. Everyone doesn’t need to know everything about Ale’s past. German takes his leave, just as Art comes out and asks Uli what he’s decided. Don’t let what happened to German and Ale happen to you. Get Acacia back before she gets married.

That night, Acacia sits thinking in her room. She grabs the machete from under her bed and contemplates it for a while before shoving it back under her bed. She locks her bedroom door, and then hears a knock at her window. Assuming it’s Estalker again, she yells at the window that she’s going to marry Manolo, no matter what he tries to do to prevent it! “Get out of here! I don’t want to have anything to do with you! You go your way, and I’ll go mine, with Manolo!” Poor Ulises is outside the window, and looks like his heart has just been kicked a dozen times as he hears Acacia’s harsh words.

Avances: Acacia and Manuel elope!

Comments:
So no one thought to tackle Danilo after Ale got shot? I'm disappointed in Uli especially because he was within spitting distance of Danilo on the floor and didn't think to grab him by the collar and strangle him or punch his lights out.

Vivi, Thanks so much for this exciting, detailed retelling. I have not had a chance to watch the episode(s) yet, and I will not get a chance until early evening.

Wow...things are happening fast. We know that Dan is still on the loose and still dangerous . I wonder if he is going to manage to kill at least one person on his hit list..
Este is scrambling to get money from Cris and keep holding on to Ack. "Over my dead body" sounded like a good option to me, but not before the.truth about Este killing Alonso is revealed.

Freezing cold here. Most of the local schools have a twohour delay due to the frigid temperatures.

Wow, Vivi, can't express my thanks enough for this. Especially the cuts. I would have loved to hear and see the whole German/Ale conversation.

"Este looks disappointed that he didn’t get that contract signed"

"He hands Dan a bottle of liquor in a classy paper bag and tells him that the chick they shot is not dead."

"(Cris has a WTF look on her face, and so do I. Shut up, Manuel!)"

"“Because you love someone else.” Acacia looks 50 shades of guilty"

If Hector is gonna crime fight he needs to work on his take down technique.

That poor Uli still loves Acacia, foolish boy.

I would think Norberto more nervous, perhaps he is, tequila runs through his veins.

Esteban's gonna blow, just don't know what will be the final trigger. Something little

Good morning, tofie. You are up early, too !

It looks like we are going to have a fast, wild ride to the end with Este sliding down a slippery slope to Crazyville. I am going to be very ticked if Uli loses this lottery and ends up with Ack on his back..ick. This guy has been the true galan snd deserves much better. However, all signs are to Ack being forgiven by all and ending up with Uli. Bio

VIvi..great title.

Thanks so much Vivi for a great recap. Uni cut quite a lot, thanks so much for including it.

Poor Ale, Uli and Luisa. A lot of broken hearts. I feel sure Uli and Acacia and Ale and German will probably get together, but I don't know what will happen with Luisa and Art and Manuel. Someone is going to be disappointed. Poor Lizzy if German leaves her do you think she would want Manuel? LOL!

Art is such a nice guy and is especially nice to Uli. If Luisa lets Art get away, she's a fool.

Ann-NYC

German did get busy with Lizzy, but we all know that Ale is his onetruelove, so they must be together in the end. Ale deserves some happiness. She has been through hades and back with Dan the devil. What a strong woman.

Viv, the title? Perfection. The recap? Incredible. Written with heart and soul. Extraordinary.

I cannot express my gratitude for providing us with everything that happened in the 2 combined episodes. What dedication you have Vivi. You are amazing. Your dialog translations were excellent.

For a moment, I thought Ale was dead. Everything happened so quickly!

My eyes teared up several times last night including "After he leaves, Cris gets teary and softly calls out his name". There is still a scintilla of affection, some small remnant of feeling that cannot be denied. There is hope!

But what made me cry this morning were your beautiful words: "German leans in and whispers in Ale’s ear: “I would have loved you, no matter what” - what a knife to the heart.

Ale and German's heart wrenching discussion would have brought a tear to the most cynical person! His grief was all too real and seeing Ale on the verge of hysteria finally able to tell her entire sordid, sad past was almost too much to bear.

So German is going to stay with Lizzy? The intention is honorable but one needed only to look at his face to know his actions are not mirroring what his heart wants.

I love how everyone is rallying around Ale. Please, please, do not allow anything (further) to happen to Ale or German.

Uli was so very tender with Ale. Seeing them together, it was obvious there is a very special bond and if you did not know better, would easily mistake them for a couple in love.

tofie, as much as I agree (with dismay) that Uli still loves Acacia, I am even more upset that it seems ent silly Luisa still loves Manuel " “This can’t be! It can’t be!” Art asks if she’s still in love with that worthless wretch". Sadly, so it seems...

I feel I have to say something about Acacia so begrudgingly will. She seems to have regained her sanity (well at least as far as Este is concerned) as Este has totally lost his.

Will Memo fight or flight?

I grimly agree Susanlynn - Danilo's damage is not yet done.

I have more to say, I am trying to digest it all.

Vivi, thank you for creating this stunning recap. I am sure you are totally sleep deprived - gracias amiga.

Diana

I see that Esteban is going into the psycho territory!

Juli & Norbie getting what they've wanted all along: the property.

CorazonSalvaje, it does seem ludicrous that Danilo got away.

In thinking about it this morning, with everything happening at the lightening speed it did, everyone had only one thought: rush to Ale's aid. It was a natural reaction for Uli, Hector and Cris to run to their beloved friend's aid. I do think one of the policemen should have run after Danilo but I could see where everyone's focus was on Ale.

I think the logical person was Este but as Vivi so smartly pointed out he had other things on his mind "looks disappointed that he didn’t get that contract signed". Yup, and there you have it.

I really wish Rubio had heard Luisa and Arturo's conversation. It would have been a shock but less so overhearing it than have it thrown at him or being caught even more unaware. And, he would also know Manuel is the father, not Arturo. My fear is that he will hear the news and jump to the wrong conclusion.

I thought crazed Danilo who vowed to own and control Ale forever was frightening. I'm now afraid Danilo's livid promise of revenge, to kill Ale might be even more shattering.

Diana

Morning all! Thanks for the great comments so early. These were another two great episodes, and it's a shame so much of the talk between Ale and German was cut. It was a LONG time coming, and they both had a lot to get off their chests and out of their hearts. The moments when German calls Ale mi amor while she sleeps, nearly kisses her, and hugs her, show just how much he longs to be with her. It's a shame all those moments were cut. He has a big decision to make, but right now he seems to want to make the "honorable" decision to stick with Lizzy. It was very telling how he flew to the hospital, without even knowing any of the details, simply hearing Ale was hurt, and forgot all about Lizzy waiting for him for their date. Wake up, Lizzy.

Yes, both Esteloco and Danevil have gone into lunatic zone. I really hope Dan does not get the chance to get his hands on Ale again.

As for the takedown, Hector was busy pinning Efrain to the ground and holding a gun to his head. Uli and Dan were both hovering over Ale in shock. All of a sudden the cops came out and Dan took off. It would have been silly for Uli to throw himself in front of Dan trying to grab him, with a half the police force pointing guns at Dan. The logical thing would be to stay down and stay out of the way, which is what Uli did. Hector was only able to stand up while this happened, because a cop came over and took Efrain off his hands. All of this happened so quickly that it is hard to keep track.

Cris, JC, and Elena are at their wits end with this Acacia-Manuel marriage thing. If I were them, I would seriously be considering getting Acacia some psychological help because her behavior has seemed so erratic lately. I had to laugh when Cris asked Acacia if she was pregnant. Nope. The groom knocked someone else up, and she's just down the hall! This is going to get messy! Can't wait to see all the fallout.

Thanks for the recap! I'm mad Uni cut so much out! If anyone just wants to see the full convo between Ale and Germán here's a link:

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x28likh_alejandra-y-german-cap-102_shortfilms

I'm glad Ale finally got to tell German the truth. I gotta give props to Africa Zavala and Osvaldo de León for their superb acting in that scene. Poor German is really battling what his heart wants and what his head is telling him. I know he wants to do the right thing with Lizzy but now that he knows the truth about Ale it will obviously confuse him more.

Este was seriously scary holding that machete. I don't even want to think about him using it. Acacia is rushing into things though but unfortunately I think Este figured out the reason.

Poor Luisa. She really has suffered a lot over Manuel. And poor Uli. I wonder if Acacia will eventually find out that it was him at her window. Again I felt bad for Norbie when he had to witness the father-son hug at the hospital.

So how did the guy who is helping Dan know that Ale didn't die?

Thanks for the Ale-German clip, TF.

We already know that Dan and all those shady guys have eyes and ears everywhere. I'm sure any reports going out about the incident, including the APB on Dan, mention that someone was wounded and hospitalized (not killed). That's probably how he knows Ale wasn't killed. Question is, will Rubio continue to be Dan's eyes and ears inside the hacienda once Ale goes there?

That's true Vivi. If somehow Rubio learns of Dan's whereabouts/hideout he may be lured in. Dan is obviously smart enough to know he has to be careful who he is in contact with of those who are associated with the main characters. Does he really have that kind of trust in Rubio? (Because obviously Este already has Rubio on a tight leash with his secrets)

I let one person on Twitter know of the cuts to these episodes. I told them to pass it along. I even gave them links to these two episodes from youtube. The youtube user I found has some upcoming episodes missing, I think, so I'll see if they are elsewhere on youtube.

It will be interesting to see if Rubio will ultimately turn to the dark side or the light. Hopefully, his love for Luisa will be strong enough for him to not hurt her friend Ale. Right not, one of his evil employers is on the run and wanted by the law, another is crazy in love...well, may that just plain crazy, and the third seems to have had the fight knocked out of him.

Vivi in DC, like Diana, I feel such gratitude that you went to such LENGTHS to provide all the key elements of this very moving story. I cannot thank you enough. Univision is pathetic. I think they must not watch their own novelas. Why would you want to cut such an exciting novela just to jump start a new one. Their actions have made me lose any interest in this new TN.

When I stated a few days ago that I wished Cris would open her eyes, you responded Vivi with how could we expect her to jump to a conclusion that her daughter was involved with Esteban. I replied that I would not expect that, but you have just stated above what I would have expected her to see: that her daughter's behavior was becoming erratic and needed some attention that was more substantial than the endless "What is wrong with you, Acacia". So, on that point (psychological help) we are in agreement.

I think the brutality of what Ale has endured hit me full force last night. For the moment, I feel a great deal of sadness, so I will save my thoughts for later.

Thank you ever so much, Vivi in DC.

Fatima

Hey, Fatima! Yep, I definitely think this sudden marriage announcement has pushed things from "Acacia is having one of her tantrums again", to "Acacia may be crazy". Time for Cris, Elena, and JC to do something.

Fatima, "I think the brutality of what Ale has endured hit me full force last night. For the moment, I feel a great deal of sadness"...

Yes, I share your sentiments!

Also Vivi, I just wanted to confirm that you are recapping tonight?

Diana

Diana- Yes. I'm on for tonight. I have my Sees coffee lollipop ready to help me through.

Vivi, you knock me out. Brilliantly written, carefully observed. And you included all the missing pieces, which is a huge job. Whoever your employer is is very lucky to have someone with your talents and capabilities. We are very lucky to have you, that’s for sure.

Steve – are you new? I don’t remember seeing a comment from you before, but I don’t check in every day, so maybe you’ve commented before. I enjoyed your comment.

In fact, I’m loving all the comments. Great stuff.

TF – thank you for the link. I’m going to go look at it right now.

I’m thinking that machete under the bed is going to come in useful. Meantime, why doesn’t Acacia shutter and lock her bedroom window? Not only is there completely flipped-out Este coming through it all the time, but she knows Dan is out there somewhere and everyone is in danger.

Bless you Vivi.

What a treat for all of us. You are such a gifted writer.

I am clinging to the hope that German realizes Ale is implanted in his heart.

Doing the right thing is not staying with Lizzy.

It is being with the one who has sacrificed everything for him - Ale.

Diana

Susanlynn, While I try to hold out hope for most (except Danilo and Este of course), I really have no idea what Rubio will do.

I cannot believe he will continue to spy for Danilo in view of what has transpired. While Memo's "passing" is still raw for him, he wasn't that affected that he didn't smirk and revel in Acacia's indifference to Este.

I am hoping now that he knows how dangerous Danilo is, he will be concerned for Luisa and her safety. I'm not sure money is a real motivator for him at the moment (other than trying to help Luisa out).

I'm still waiting for the chaos to ensue when he finds out about Luisa and who he thinks is the baby's father.

Diana

TF, I will look at the clip at home tonight (can't do it here at work).

thanks so much.

Diana

It's crazy, but I'm determined to provide as much detail of what happened in the real final episodes of this tn as possible. I feel like we, the actors, and the writers deserve that. Uni is doing this good tn a huge disservice as it wraps up. My process, after I've had dinner, is to watch the online episodes back to back somewhere between 7:30 and 9, then start writing during Hasta (half watching) and throughout La Malquerida, then wrapping up watching the tv version in ffwd to see what was cut. I figure I can survive doing that a few times until the end of next week. :)

You're welcome Diana and Maggie. And thank you again Vivi for basically doing two full recaps. Uni is putting the recappers to work now.

I agree with you Diana that Rubio's fate is still up in the air. There are a couple of possibilities. He will probably freak out when he finds out that Luisa is pregnant with Manuel's child.

OMG---Vivi, you're a godsend with your very complete recap including
what Univision cut out last night.

Another angry email will be on it's way to Univision right after I finish my comments here.

Vivi---I really liked your line, Uli and Hector look sad and horrified and Este looks disappointed that he didn't get the contract signed.

I was certain that bullets would fly. It was just so obvious as Tuesdays episode ended with the police at Danilo's door.

When a bullet struck Alejandra and she went down I think that my heart stopped for a few seconds. OH NO!! Not Alejandra!!! I didn't what to believe what I had just seen but it was true.

At some point my tv screen went black for a couple of minutes. I thought of the last time That Univision had lost their picture,
are they going out again? After a couple of commercials the show continued thankfully.

Susanlynn---She has been through hades and back with Dan the devil.
What a strong woman. Yes Susanlynn
At one point I thought that Alejandra was a scarred little mouse and she was very scared. Anyone would be while being held captive by the devil but it's true---Ale is a very strong woman a true modern day hero. I hope that she is able to live through this all. Devil Danilo is still alive and out to kill her for helping to bring him down. Do I dare to breathe through the rest of La Malquerida?

Diana---Ale and German's heart wrenching discussion would have brought a tear to the most cynical person! His grief was all too real and seeing Ale on the verge of hysteria finally able to tell her entire sordid past was almost too much to bear. Diana, you said it perfectly. The gringo says that Oscars need to be given out to Africa Zavala and Osvaldo de Leon for that very touching and perfectly acted scene. OMG! What acting.

Another great line from last night was---Is Luisa still in love with that worthless wretch?
The poor girl just can't see the forest through the trees.

Too many machetes being slung around. Esteloco is off the deep end. Will Manuel be alive after tonight's episode? Not a spoiler but I just have to wonder.
Must see tv.
the gringo

Hey Gringo! No doubt Manuel is in danger from both Esteloco and Rubio. Little does he know that he's gotten involved with both men's obsessions.

Just to echo Diana's sentiments, I too was on the verge of tears watching the conversation between Ale and German. My heart broke several times over watching it especially when: 1) (as Vivi so eloquently filled in) German cried and said "Forgive me please. I don't what to do" and 2) when he whispers in her ear that he would've loved her no matter what and 3) when he asks "Why? Did you not think I was mature enough to understand your past? Did I not give you my unconditional love?" It was just so heartbreaking. But like I said, I think this will make German understand his true feelings.

I have to laugh every time Manuel opens his pie hole about working to support Acacia. She wants to run away and he needs to stay close to home so he can run to dad when he gets in a bind.

I don't understand the people at Hacienda Benavente not respecting a locked door. What about a little privacy.

I'd love to give Uli some motherly advise and tell him to RUN, he dodged an Acacia bullet. I like Art but want him to shut up about Acacia and his brother together, forever. Let it lie Art, you aren't doing well enough in the romance department to think level headed. You guys are good boys and deserve much better.
Give it a few years and this will all seem silly.

I know German nearly a saint but it is real easy to make statements of unconditional love after the fact. We and they will never know if he could have processed and coped, in his early 20's, with such a horrible life story. My stomach sank, though I already know, when Ale started with, my mother sold me to Dan when I was 13.

Vivi, what can I say but that I am humbled by your dedication and overall awesomeness. I am ever so grateful you are determined to provide us with all the cut scenes. Thank you!

"Fifty shade of guilty" my fave!

I absolutely loved the scene where Esteloco is boo-hooing and Cris offers to bail him out. His complete about face was comical. I had a good belly laugh over that. What a nut.

Tofie- If Carmen knew Uli was thinking about going back to Acacia and heard that Acacia is engaged to Manuel, she'd go right past the motherly advice and straight to yanking the hair out of Acacia's head and telling her to stay the hell away from her son. Mama lioness Carmen will not like this one bit. We saw how she nearly clawed mama bear Cris at the art exhibit opening.

I just read an article where Sergio Goyri, who will be the main villain in the replacement tn, criticized the way Christian M. played the Esteban role. He says the role was a great one, but CM didn't play it with enough passion. He would have played it differently (and did in fact audition for the role). I tend to agree with him, but there are also some things I like or find amusing about the aloof way he plays the role at times. Paquita- The way he played that crying scene also made me laugh, and I kind of liked it. I can also see how it would have been played differently, and well. But CM is playing it a bit tongue in cheek in some of those moments when it's so obvious to the audience that he's faking and pulling the wool over everyone's eyes. Trying to think who else I would have liked to see in this role...Not SG, although I think he's good. Someone young/old enough to not make it icky to be paired with mother and daughter.

Vivi – interesting about Sergio’s comments. It wasn’t very gentlemanly of him to make them, but I must say I agree. It’s a very juicy part – being a dedicated husband, mightily struggling against his unexpected lust, being overtaken by it, and finally losing his mind and going completely over the dark side. Anything to get what he wants!

It must slay Sergio to watch and think about what he could have done with the part. Probably other actors are having the same thoughts about what they might have done with it. Roles like that don’t come along very often.

Can you imagine what the Danilo actor would have done with that part? But of course he’s Danilo, and deserves a flood of awards. Stupendous performance!

I don't like Sergio Goyri anyway so don't care what he says. I actually like Christian Meier in this role. He acts and appears in age between the mother and daughter and I believe both women would respond to him romantically. He had me believing he was a good guy, struggling mightily with his attraction to his wife's daughter. He does have a few goofy looks that pop up occasionally but he can flip his switch seamlessly. Just like last night when he was on the phone desperately pleading with the textile guy and immediately playing Cris. This is a juicy role, Protagonist/Antagonist.

Vivi,
I don't how to thank you for your awesome recap. I am so appreciative that you went above and beyond by giving us the deleted scenes. It is such a shame that we as loyal viewers missed a very important scene between Ale and German. I guess Univision didn't realize how much we wanted to see, feel and be touched by that scene. I am lucky to have found this community of novella lovers. I would be lost without you!

I was struck by how much happened last night. Everything is happening so quickly. It makes me wonder what else the writers have in store for us. I hope that Ale is able to have some breathing room away from Danilo. I pray he doesn't get his filthy hands on her again, but I fear that there is just enough time for him to do something to Ale. No spoiler here, just speculation.

Este has gone bonkers. Acacia is not my favorite, but she needs to watch her back, along with Manuel and Cris. Did anyone else notice that Este did NOTHING last night when Cris was being held at gunpoint. He just stood back there and watched. I bet he was thinking, go ahead and take her, you'll be doing me a favor.

TF, thanks for the link for the Ale/German convo. I will look for it when I get home tonight. I still can't get over the fact that some of the Ale/German scenes were cut. Damn you Uni!

I was glad and sad to see Arturo realize that Luisa might still have feelings for Manuel. He has done so much for Luisa that she might be taking him for granted. I think Luisa needed to hear that Manuel and Acacia are engaged. She needs to get over her obsession with Manuel. Her childhood crush needs to end. I think part of why she "loved" Manuel is because he was unattainable. Even though they were friends since childhood, in Luisa's eyes, he was always "above" her. She always wanted to be like Acacia. And one way to be like Acacia was to have a well-to-do boyfriend like Manuel. If Arturo keeps his distance from Luisa, she will realize how much he means to her. At least I hope she does. I wouldn't let Arturo go. And I don't normally like beards, but I don't mind it on him. I love his smile and his eyes. They could light up a room.

More to say, but I have work to do.

Thanks again Vivi!

Hasta Pronto...

Maggie, I've been on here since last year.

Excellent recap Vivi!
You are AMAZING!!
Watching on television I felt as if I were on Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride…about 10 minutes in, I just sat back and tried to enjoy the ride…someone pass the Dramamine. At this rate will the TN finish early?
What I don’t understand is why doesn’t Univision simply delay the start of the new TN? They already know how many episodes they have and how many nights / timeslots are needed…so unless this TN received low ratings in the US, I just don’t get it.

The way Uli still pines over over Ugh-cacia reminds me of BonBon and 'Za from PSMA. What is up with the overpowering bratty female lead and leg humping male lead dynamic lately? Sofi and Chava, the aforementioned ones from PSMA and now Ugh-cacia and Uli.

Corazon- I wouldn't call Uli a leg humper. In fact, he's been going about his own business for quite some time now, ignoring Acacia, even turning her down multiple times. But that doesn't change his heart and what he feels, and it's only because of learning she's about to get married, and getting this push from his brother (as well as the warning to not let what happened to German happen to him), that he went to talk to her at the end of the episode.

Otherwise, he's been very dignified in the way he has gotten on with his life without her. Please don't compare Uli to that lapdog Chava. :)

Tofie, you just reminded me of how annoyed I was every time Manuel opened his mouth in this episode. Especially when he said "I don't think my brother will forgive Alejandra". What does he know? He doesn't know the full story of Ale. And if he only knew that it was German who asked first for forgiveness.

You're welcome AuntyAnn. It was the least I could do.

Regarding SG and CM, this is the first TN that I've seen CM in. He's okay as a villain so I kinda get why SG is saying that. The star villain of this TN is Alberto Estrella (Danilo). He plays the part of a villain well. I didn't really see him in Robo but I've seen two other TNs with him as the villain and I have to say he was amazing.

PBN- For some reason, Uni decided a while ago that the new tn HAS to start Jan 19th. Why? Who knows! It won't start in Mexico for many weeks, so they still have time to call it a "world premier", even if they delayed it by another week or two. Yes, this tn got low ratings in the US. In Mexico, it had amazing ratings by this point (slow in the beginning), and had the second highest viewers for a finale of all tns for the year, behind Lo Que la Vida me Robo. In any case, it's just disrespectful and stupid to do this to a tn at the end. Does Uni really think that viewers don't care, after they have invested months watching a show? Just makes me shake my head in disbelief.

Finally had a chance to watch this episode. I thought that it was very creepy the way Estenutso put his hand on JC's shoulder as he escorted him into Ack's room . Kind of threatening.

Este Taking out his frustration by chopping at the wood with the machete was weird. That dulls the blade, dumbass.

Wonderful comments since I was able to check in earlier this afternoon.

I had never seen Christian Meier but Madelaine was fairly enthused about him in this role. While I think it was unprofessional of Sergio to comment on his acting, I can't say I disagree.

In some instances, the blank stare is appropriate but I think that if he had played the part passionately, we might understand why Acacia was drawn to him rather than being bewildered by seeing this man as the one who broke (or who will break up) Cris and her family.

I think Gabriel Soto would have been perfect to play Esteban. After all, he romanced Ms. Romo in Sortilegio and was toally believable. He can bring the romance. Big time.

And AuntyAnn, I agree that while it was difficult to watch Arturo struggling with the obvious - that Luisa is still stuck on Manuel, it was for his own good. If he does stay away, I also think she will realize what she is missing.

Diana

Vivi, I don't know if I am more excited to see tonight's episode or to read your recap! :)

Diana

Hmmm...mi telenovio Marcelo Córdoba played the illfated Alonso, but he has played good guys and bad guys , and I think that he would have made an awesome Estebad, Also, mi other telenovio Fernando Colunga always plays the galan, but I think that he would also have brought us a hot Estebad.

CM is doing a good job of making me hate him, so he is doing okay as Rsteban. I think Sergio is a bit too old for the role. I cannot envision him as Esteban.

TF, I just watched the video.

Thank you! I cried again. Sniff...

Susanlynn, I could never see Sergio in the role. I think he was too old for Acacia certainly, and for me, he holds no charm whatsover.

Diana

Maggie, yes, I could have totally seen Alberto Estrella in the Este role.

Pasion. Need I say more??? As Mario, he and Marisol Del Olmo (Jimena) nearly set the screen on fire.

That said, he is perfect as Danilo. What an amazing actor.

Hmmm...only a few episodes left to uncover Alonso's killer. Cris and Ack will be devastated .

Alberto Estrella is an excellent actor; my question is which of his villain roles is worse?

Marcial Andrade from Entre el Amor y el Odio or Danilo Vargas from La Malquerida?

I honestly look back at EEAYEO and think Marcial was worse because he managed to kill 2 people at the same time while vulnerable from his burn injuries.

Danilo has proven to be the devil himself however and seriously got away with prostituting Ale and co. while his green thumb had his Marijuana farm thriving.

Now in a fight to the death, Danie would be no match for Marcie because of his bad knee and I also remember that Marcie had a katana sword(s) he was going to use to kill a woman although she ended up getting hit by a truck. I also remember the scene where Marcie took on Juan Carlos Casasola's villain El Catrin and his goons one by one and freed Maria Sorte's character Maria Magdalena.

You're welcome Diana. And CS, I agree and think Marcial was worse. He was crazy for sure. Even on his deathbed he wasn't repentant.

Corazon: I didn't see Entreel Amor y el Odio.

Now my question is that after what you wrote (and TF agreed with) - that he is WORSE than Danilo do I really want to!?

Seriously, I'm sure he was marvelous. He always is.

Vivi, you hit this one out of the park. Kudos amiga. I honestly enjoy your recap as much as the show, if not more. Este is cray cray, ugh.

You should Diana. It should be on YouTube. UniMas reaired it about a year-year and a half ago. I'm not sure what year it originally aired but I think it was early to mid 2000s. And the interesting think was that Sabine Mossieur (Perla) was also a villain in that TN as well.

TF and Diana-

I'd only recommend it for Alberto's acting (at the literal very end when he dies you begin to think he was a demon from hell below.) Other than that the novela is depressing, violent and grotesque schlock. At that time in 2002, El Manantial by Carla Estrada was the bomb diggity and best novela of the year.

Addendum on Danie VS. Marcie-

Danilo knows how to pose as a class act in public and especially in front of Cristina.

Marcial was a stand-up asshole as in early on he is killing, maiming and spewing out his negative venom. By capitulo 45 his nastiness and violence had gone public.
