Mi corazon es tuyo #121 Ana and Fernando enter the set of 'Dirty Dancing' for a while and Fernando likes it so much he now wants to add a dance room to the house...

Refritos:

Nando won’t tell Fernando who hit him, ‘its not my information to give’.

Fanny and Edith talk about Lenin and Leon and her… Fanny claims kiss with Lenin was just spite. But Leon screwed the surprise he had fixed for her. Edith tells her you gotta forgive yourself and figure things out with Leon.

Leon sends Laura ‘por un tubo’. ‘Haz Click & delete yourself … I LOVE FANNY!’

Fernando calls Ana to come to office to take Nando to hospital. Soledad will go with Ana.

Isa gets to hospital with a surgical blade. ‘in any case Freeky is half dead already… if he talks I am lost…’

Lo Nuevo:

Edith and Fanny keep arguing, Seems Fanny learned about Nando getting beat up. Edith feels guilty, is crying. They are rushing to go to see Nando. Edith guesses it was Gabriel (well, who else?)

At office, Ana and Soledad run into Isa, who does not lose time to start namecalling them with her favorite ‘mommy n a c a and little n a c a.’ This gets a slap heard round the world from Soledad. Ana has to hold Soledad to stop her from ending in the floor from her arm swing.

Bruno argues with Manuela about her ‘UFO’ beliefs. Bruno calls them a fanatic sect. She let herself be brainwashed. Bruno prefers her ‘free spirit’ self. Manuela admits her ‘free spirit’ self only brought her suffering. He plays dumb, she almost brings back the old Manuela to rush to hit him, but she stops herself. But it seems it worked, we have the old Manuela… Bruno seems happier all considered.

Isa pulls the pregnant card. But Soledad says it did not prevent her form hurting them. Isa brags about her prank working well. Soledad wants to hit her again but Ana stops her… its not worth it, its like talking to the chair. Isa wants to keep arguing. Isa pulls the fact that she did get rid of the guitar. Soledad asks why she hates so much. Isa wants to twist the knife describing how she destroyed the guitar, but Ana and Soledad play the ‘see how much we care’ stand. Isa is mad that they kept on walking.

Siete is barking at Bruno. He says Manuela is back. Manuela has changed outfit to the old colorful wavy blouses she wore. She says she is the old one, but with a bitter version. Bruno looks happy anyway.

Ana asks Nando who he fought with. He says he needs Edith’s permission to give details. Fernando and Soledad also ask him but he won’t bulge.

Pancho Villa Dorofeo arrives with flowers to visit YoMama. She looks pretty good in royal blue lace dress… she is smiling. Dorofeo asks about Isa, he smirks a smile when she says Isa went to work.

Isa is whining to herself… she calls home but Yomama and Dorofeo are too busy flirting and drinking margaritas. Yomama answers anyway. But then immediately says she can’t talk to her and hangs up (You go Yomama!)

Edith arrives upset. Nando confirms to her it was Gabriel. Fernando and Ana ask who is Gabriel. Fanny asks Edith permission and tells them the story of Edith’s mother marrying a guy with 3 sons, the older, Gabriel raped Edith when she was 15. Edith adds that she did not denounce him because her mom did not believe her. She has since lived in the streets. Recently he found her. He came toward Edith in a bus and threatened her with a knife. Nando says he told Gabriel he had denounced him at the school. Nando swears to Edith that Gabriel will end up in jail. Fernando strongly supports that. He immediately summons for Cornejo. Fernando asks what is that embezzle’s full name. Edith tells him Gabriel Ramirez de Nocolinas (Lacolinas?). Ana mocks the name, that not even the Colinas (mounts) he will save him.

Ana is magically back in Lasc house kitchen. The twins, Luz and Sebas with her are admiring that Manuela is her old self. Ana tells the kids time to change clothes and go do homework.

Some young guy is looking at himself in a car mirror. Bruno comes out to meet him. Bruno is acting all professional sort of scanning and screening the guy… you are Sanson… nope, Hercules… the guy’s name happens to be Zeus, and he was sent by the employment agency. Bruno introduces himself as Bruno Romero, supreme commander and asks him for the documentation from the agency. Bruno leaves Zeus there by the car and goes toward the house.

At the office, Edith, Nando and Cornejo are back from hospital. Cornejo tells them and Fernando that for the current charges of attempted murder, assault and threats, Gabriel should be arrested any moment now and will be in jail for a good term. Edith thanks Fernando, she feels good envy of Nando for having such a rocking dad… She hugs Fernando even though he keeps saying no worries.

Fanny is with Maricela, Maricela thinks Fanny is dating Lenin. He is special and she is too. Fanny tells her about her issues between Lenin and Leon. Talking about Leon she says he is cute, handsome and a gentleman.

Dorofeo and Yomama are talking about her past marriage to a handsome guy from Spain. Mr Vazquez de Castro. A prince of a man. Yomama says she had another daughter who died at birth. Dorofeo’s cell phone rings. He walks away and tells someone that he wants to bet it all to Johnny to win.

We are transported to the gym where Johnny is training and the trainer tells Dana that Johnny looks real good.

At the house Ana is trying to get the kids to hurry. She gets a phone call from Jen. She rushes to the house. Jen got the divorce papers from Nico. She is really upset. Ana hugs her in support saying Nico is dumb. (we in Viewerville say he is way beyond dumb)

At his doctor office, Angel tells Soledad that Magda called in the morning. The company he shared with Magda was dissolved but she never agreed to the terms of the sale so now Magda is suing him.

Yomama tells Dorofeo that Isa has done everything wrong. Yomama says the whole time she had adviced Isa to try to get along with the kids… but she never did, and the kids even called her witch. Yomama says when she went to the Chicago, she got along well with Dana. Yomama wonders with Dorofeo having so many cute girls at Chicago, why is he interested in Yomama? Dorofeo tells her not to undermine herself. At that moment Isa comes in. Isa comes in angry (when not?) but Dorofeo kisses her hand… Yomama tells herself ‘now I get it’. (he dates Yomama because he is interested in Isa??)

At the Lasc mansion Soledad tells Ana that Fernando called her and sent message to Ana that Soledad would care of the kids because he wants to take Ana out. She tells Ana he said she should wear comfortable shoes and clothes. Ana is totally confused. And that she should hurry up to get ready so they won’t be late (no word as to where to).

Lenin and Fanny are helping cook for the kids at the ‘home’.

Reina is helping Leon with some food… while he is working on his laptop. He says he is almost done with his thesis so he can get degree in graphic design. Fanny calls Leon and wants to meet.

Fernando has taken Ana somewhere blindfolded. He takes the blindfold off her… and they are in the middle of a dance studio room full of young couples practicing salsa steps. The teacher greets them as soon as Fernando has taken the blindfold off her. (Haven’t we seen this guy at the Chicago? Yeah he must have worked there because Ana is lip whispering something to him, probably not to tell he knows her) He asks if they are ready to dance. He calls Ana by name, but she and Fernando both have name labels on their clothes… Fernando is surprised he called Ana by name and asks ‘do you two know each other?’ so Ana is quick to react and says he got her name from the sticker on her shirt. The teacher name is Lazaro. Ana tells Fernando she loved the surprise. They are ready to start. Fernando and Ana hold each other and freeze for a moment before they start with the steps. You can tell JS knows how to dance salsa… and they two enjoy it pretty much. She starts moving her arms seductively… definitely dancing is her ‘release’ and something she feels very comfortable with. They are about as close as they can get without kissing…

(Hmmm. It’s a new way to teach the step timing… 1,2,3 5,6,7… I used to teach some friends how to dance salsa and I used to say ‘quick quick sloowwww…. Quick quick sloowww’… so this sounds better.) Fernando is really enjoying it.

Lenin is telling Fanny he can’t forget their kiss. Sorry. Fanny says it is a moment they both have to forget. He repeats he is crazy about her so don’t ask him not to feel anything. Fanny says she was angry at Leon. Lenin is upset she does not trust him so she tells him she kissed him because Leon had kissed her ex friend Laura. Lenin is now angry she kissed him out of spite and nothing else.

Back to the dance studio… the lovebirds play the stare and dare game to see who can dance salsa and lead the dance better. She dares him to lead, he says he can lead fine. She says we will see what side the iguana dances from (LOL!). They are getting enthused to do something beyond salsa dancing… but the teacher brings them back to earth and they have to start dancing ‘normal’ but they are really enjoying this. He starts spinning her around fairly quickly. (sort of Dirty Dancing moves… cute).

Nando and Edith are telling the younger ones about what happened to him.. Edith says ‘the other one’ ended up worse. The twins have ‘Hulk’ play gloves on. They swing their arms as if they could be hitting ‘the other one’ now. Edith tells Luz Nando was defending her from a villain. Edith gives Nando a kiss after saying he is her hero. The twins make Nando smile.

Meanwhile in the street, Gabriel is driving around remembering his attempt to take Edith again. But the police block his car and end up arresting him fairly quickly for attempted murder and threats. Gabriel wants to talk to his dad. ‘you don’t know who I am’ (oh oh… now his dad is going to end up the police chief or stte… ni lo mande Dios)

Meanwhile at the dance studio Ana and Fernando are having a great time. (they don’t need that many classes, at least in salsa dancing, from what I can tell). The teacher wants them to keep practicing at home. Ana approaches the teacher and thanks him and explains that Fernando does not know about you know what, he says no worries he can tell there is lots of chemistry between her and Fer, even sparks flying between them (LOL!). Fernando comes back to Ana and is enthused about talking to Bruno about setting up a space in the house to dance, he wants to practice a lot, (she says ‘as if we needed more things to do’) he had a great time today with her. She says me too. He says he likes… he loves to spend time with her like this… (she is smiling wide to him, they are about to kiss but his cell phone rings, she convinces him to answer) He stutters through the call, something he agreed to, then he hangs up. He tells her that Gabriel has been arrested. Ana says this guy will pay everything he has done. Fernando can only talk about Ana.

At the house Soledad is putting the girls to sleep with Sebastian. Sarai and Sebastian are telling her about the dance contest they are practicing for. Luz says she is too young to dance but when she grows up she wants to be a Prima Ballerina. Sebastian tells Soledad it is his and Sarai’s dream, to win the competition. Soledad is sure they will. They show Soledad some of their steps.

Isa gets home. Yomama is still ignoring her. She is a bit miffed so when Isa puts her feet on her lap, Yomama pushes her off. Yomama is mad that her own daughter is stealing her galan. Isa is in disbelief.

Johnny is packing his sports bag, he is praying to the Virgin of Guadalupe about his fight tomorrow. Jen tells him she will go to the fight to support him. He tells her she is beautiful. Like JLo but JLo is not quite up to her. Jen says he can stay here again. She is no longer a married woman. Nico sent her the divorce papers. Johnny gives her a support embrace. Jen says what Nico did to her is not fair. She no longer wants to cry.

In Lasc kitchen, Bruno is making calls to verify Zeus’ references. While he is on phone Manuela is drooling over the photo of Zeus on the folder.

Alicia and Pablo in living room. He is telling her jokes… Fernando and Ana arrive. Fanny calls Ana that she is visiting Leon. Need to talk to him about what has happened. Ana reminds her that love is most important. Reina opens the gate for Fanny and plays a joke on her as if she was going to play bully again. Reina says just kiddin, Reina is friendly now. Fanny thanks her for opening her eyes and letting her figure out what she wants to study as a career and what to do with her life.

Yomama keeps nagging to Isa about taking Dorofeo from her. Isa says not even if Dorofeo gave her a plane or the French Riviera itself, she could never be dating a guy who is so ugly with a gold tooth… LOL!! Ramona comes to ask if they will have dinner. Isa again is rude to Ramona. Yomama tells Isa that she realized today that Dorofeo is not after Yomama but after Isa. Isa feels sick to just think about it. She denies having any interest in him. Yomama wants her to go tell Dorofeo that she is not interested in him.

At Lasc mansion, Ana and Fernando are talking about buying the wardrobe for Sebas’ dance competition. Fernando tells Sebas and the twins that he and Ana went to take salsa dance lessons. Ana jokes around it being ‘salsa ranchera’. Sebas asks how it went. They both say it was really fun. Time for bed. They are about to kiss Sebas on cheeks and Sebas backs up to try to get them to kiss each other but they stop short of it.

Fanny tells Margarita that she has been real busy with school and the ‘home’ charity. Margarita leaves Leon and Fanny alone. Fanny tells Leon that Laura told her about their kiss. Leon tries to explain but Fanny wants to tell him first that Lenin kissed her. Leon is visibly upset.

Previews: Isa wears a old lady costume and hurts Sebastian (VO: She destroys Sebastian’s dream, and while Fernnado and Ana come to rescue him…) we see Isa visiting Doroteo while Ana is performing… (VO: Isa gets real close to Ana’s secret)… Doro says something about having information that Isa might be interested in…

WooHoo. Holidays are over but plenty of fireworks in Telenovela Land.

Thanks, Marta, the recap was great as usual!

Best part: Soledad slapping Isabela pregnant or not. Loved it.

Worst part: Fanny turning into a blabbermoith and telling the girl at the shelter and Lenin about her personal problems with León. She needs to keep her private life discussions private with close friends. She has a lot to learn.

Funniest part: Pablo's "Bond , James Bond/llito, pollito" joke.

Cutest part: Fernando amd Ana at the dance lesson.

Re: Fer and Ana dancing. Didn't it look as though Ana the pole dancer was dancing with Fernando?

Thank you so much, Marta!!! You amaze me with your detail and speed on getting the recap up!

I LOVED watching Jorge Salinas dance! LOVED it!

Why in the world would Fanny tell the shelter girl her troubles?! NOT thinking, Fanny; not thinking on that one.

I want to take those twins home with me. I love those little boys.

Fatima

I loved the huge slap Sol laid on Hissabela and that she almost fell over administering it. Her expression was the cherry on top.

Marta, thanks for a great rwcap. I can't wait to watch the episode and see the "slap heard around the world" and the 'salsa ranchera' dancing .

Thanks for the recap Marta.

I didn't have a chance to comment yesterday, but after reading about Ana Obregon as the original Ana, I found this video of the scene where Ana disguises herself as Lana. Looks like the Spanish version treated the pole dancing scene more like we would expect from a sleazy club.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxvajwDqS24

Also, the actress has had a colorful life, from what I gather from this Wikipedia article:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ana_Obreg%C3%B3n

Wow. Gracias, Aleta. That was interesting.

So we now see that Spain doesn't limit leading men to ones with hair and Ana Obregon was older when she did this series than Sylvia is now.

I checked the site; her version had only 92 episodes that were distributed across 3 TV seasons. I guess it ran weekly there.

BTW, great work, Marta.

Hissabela is really getting careless now, actually bragging about destroying the guitar. She's also going way over the line with what she's planning for Sebastian. Her Karmageddon should be a really intense one.

Another good recap, thank you, as I was missing quite a bit. I still don't know what happened tho with Isa in the hospital with the knife .. that scene just died or did I miss something there too. Then all the sudden she's back at work, confused.

Woo--fabulous recap Marta. Really brought the episode to life!

Crud, guess we haven't seen the last of Gabriel? I hope that bragging on who is was just that and he's gone, but we should be so lucky. Probably the lawyer working with Dore's kid. No spoiler, but only thing I can think of.

And Zeus is coming on why? Just a Manuela/Bruno blocker? ARGH

And I don't get Fanny talking about her love life with Mari. I get they are becoming friends, but really? Fanny needs to just take a break from both these guys and start thinking what she wants.

Can't believe Isa is going after a child for revenge in those previews. That's just the ultimate--she needs to have that baby so I can wish the worst on her and not feel guilty.

Exactly, UA. Hissabella has always had a loose tongue and this confession about the guitar did not mean much to Ana and Soledad but Betty was there hearing teh whole thing so it might come back to bite Isa later if Betty feels like telling Fernando... not that it can lower Isa any more in Fernando's book.
But the previews are a bit scary.
Why would Hissa continue to target a 11 year old that has done not much more than call her bruja? she should stick to adults for her target.

Daisy, we were posting at same time... yes, Isa has crossed every conceivable line there is already...
and good point about the Isa with the surgical knife not going anywhere... did I blink and miss something? was it another nurse spoiling her moment?

Did anyone notice the new decorating in the boys' room, the playroom, Hissabela's apartment and possibly the main sala in the manse? Thanks recappers....you do a great job.

Did I see a preview where Isabitch physically "harms", for lack of a better word, Sebastian? If I did then we should see that bitch in jail soon.

Yes, Kirby. she disguises herself as an old woman and hurts Sebastian with her 'cane'.

Kirby, yes, that is why i wrote in the recap that Ana was moving her arms in a seductive way, and possibly getting closer to Fernando (what is called his 'space' in ballroom dancing) than she should... but he loved it so who is complaining?

Hissabully is a sick bitch. We need to determine how much blame Yolanda deserves for it.

Way back when she showed that photo of herself to Alicia, I suspected it was photoshopped; I'm not so sure of that now. My own history with a toxic and hypercritical mother says to me that the photo could have been real and Isabitch could have been telling Alicia the truth about that stuff.

A woman like Yolanda who was eager to hide her own "naca" background might very easily take the stand that acne and overweight is lower class (especially if she never had those problems in her youth) and become insulting to a daughter she wants to groom for her idea of success. Years later maybe she can't get that out of her head and always sees Isabitch as that awkward pre-teen. Instead of being proud that her daughter graduated Harvard and made her own way in the world and her own money she still pushes her into marrying for money because that was the way of her own generation. Or maybe out of envy that she never had that opportunity.

This definitely explains why they don't get along. However, it doesn't excuse Hisabully's actions regarding either Sebastian or the twins. Or Siete. She undoubtedly resents all these kids for not only growing up with money but with loving parents and a grandfather whom they can talk to.

I also missed the scene with Isabruja and the knife going into IkkyLizard'so room. What happened there, the sequence just went nowhere?

Yolanda told Isabela that HER mother used to hit her all the time. She (Yola) has emotionally abused Isa all her life by criticizing her and withholding physical acts of love (hugs, caresses, etc); so now, in turn, Isabela is continuing the cycle of child abuse and seems to have targeted Sebas in particular. I wouldn't doubt it if one of these days she decides she's carried her "caring and understanding" act with Alicia far enough and really lets her have it about how she's just been pretending that she likes her. Hopefully by then the relationship with Pablo will have given Lichita enough self esteem to blow the w(b)itch off.

That runs so contrary to what I know about educated children of toxic parents. Most of them avoid having children and many of them never marry.

It would be consistent for Hissabully to one day decide to be sick of pretending to make nice with Alicia and tell her what she really thinks of her. Which also displays her own self-hatred.

Since no else knows what happened with the knife scene either, I've come to the conclusion that Enrique is lying in a pool of blood as yet undiscovered.

Thanks for the awesome recap!

The dance scenes were great and Soledad slapping Isa was priceless!!

So did Isa kill Reeky or not? Didn't she say "today is the day you die"? But then we see her back at the office. What is the point of getting dressed up, pulling out the knife and not doing the deed? Ack

What is in it for Doro to tell Isa about Ana? Ana is his prized hog and he knows Isa is divorced now from Fer so what difference would it make? I don't think he knows Ana loves Fer, only that she works for him. So in that case why not tell Fer? I get that he probably wants to sleep with Isa but would he give up so much just for that?

Dorofeo probably thinks that Fernando would fire Ana if he found out about her dancing at the club... and Dorofeo would have Ana at his mercy. That's what he has to gain by this.

Does he want to boink Hisabitch? Maybe, but I don't think he wastes a lot of time on what can't really happen.

I think that too Urban. I just don't understand why he is going the Isa route and not just going to Fer directly. He must want something from Isa for this info.

Gracias, Marta, for another stellar recap!

So . . . correct me if I'm wrong:
A very-pregnant Isabruja purchases a costume, changes into the costume, murders Enfrique at the hospital (while leaving her fingerprints everywhere), cleans herself of evidence, changes back into her work clothes, and calmly presents her financial report to Fer at La Costena all within 30 minutes!?!? Someone toss me a beanie, please.

The casting crew certainly selected the perfect actor for Inodoro. He looks like a creepy slimeball.

Wow. Ana and Fer don't need salsa lessons! They looked great.

IMHO, like the original, this tn should not have exceeded 92 capitulos. I will stick with this one til its conclusion because of the recaps and Caray discussions, which I enjoy, but I don't think I will ever watch another one by this producer again. I can honestly say this tn is the most ridiculous show I have ever seen.

Do we suspect the Univision knife? I mean, this show isn't ending any time soon, but it's not without the possibilities of the editors to start doing the chop and dice with episodes. There have been some odd transitions lately, so just wonder if that's why the whole Isa in the hospital went POFF! Since nothing happened or someone showed up, they chopped it out.
I mean after all, we had to meet Zeus didn't we? (And noticed Bruno didn't stutter or hesitate ONCE that whole introduction with the new guy, but he was doing it slightly on the phone? Did I get that right?)
I like the comments regarding the continuing chain of abuse that seems to be part of the Yomama/ISa background. But if they are trying to PSA that, they need to do a better job. Those I've known who have had that unfortunate fate are not proud of their actions once done, recognizing an inability to deal with their knee-jerk reactions, or have more serious mental health issues to contend with. Isa comes off as just being a spoiled brat who wants her way, thinks herself better than everyone and not the least bit self-reflective of her behavior. Seems a little off to me if they want to throw us the PSA bone.

Is Alicia getting a little bit tired of Pablo?

so far there has not been any chopping, not in the univision side. the eps are ending just where they ended in Mex. I am not aware of the rating in US but i want to watch the whole thing. i like Silvia and Jorge together, esp when Fer is a happy camper. that guy's smile is to die for. just dont have her shout that much anymore. it is annoying.

i agree with UA. if Doro tells Isa, she will run to tell Fer and then Ana won't have the nanny job anymore, making her totally dependent on her job at Chicago. I too also agree that Dorofeo wants to go horizontal with Isa, but i doubt he does not know enough about her from what yomama says to want her to hang around long term. she would be a toxic/dangerous witness to his sleezy deals. they are too much alike (money hungry, unscrupled) to want to hang around each other.

Urban, you seem to be projecting your beliefs onto others. Maybe you feel that you are successful by societal standards and thus believe Yolanda must be jealous of Isabella's "success". You mention Harvard as if by simply attending and graduating from a specific school implies that you are someone. True success is not measured by materialistic societal rules and regulations. A truly successful person is happy. A truly successful person is kind and loving towards others, willing to help others, an honest individual and continually putting others first. No degree or amount of money can buy that. I have no idea what your qualifications are, how many degrees you have, how many student loans you will need to pay back, and I don't care. I am more interested in seeing what type of person you are, how big your heart is, how you handle yourself in compromising situations, how you extend your hand to those in need. I have a meaningless degree in film studies, but I do not base my self-worth on my degree or accomplishments based on societal standards. I am certainly not jealous of someone based upon which school they went to or where they work. Life is so much bigger than that.

Mau is not a baby or toddler yet. he is kinder garden age so no diapers for Fanny to worry about, at least on Mau... but yes it does make her have to mature fast if she is to marry Leon, since she would instantly become the mother of a school age child... even though the parenting of Mau would still fall mostly on Leon. But at this point I don't consider Fanny ready for marriage, even less for parenting.. it is NOT by any means THE SAME thing to watch your younger siblings for a while or help change a diaper or two AS BECOMING A FULL TIME PARENT. not even in same ballpark. So Fanny should stick to her college studies and keep the L boys at bay.

Anon, there is no need to bring out own personalities and background into the discussion. What UA and most of us do is make-believe... imagining the background information that is not revealed when we watch characters in a novela behave a certain way or NOT behave the way we expect... no need to question anyone's beliefs or lifestyle.

OT: TCM is showing two Luis Bunuel/Silvia Pinal movies this month.

Aleta
She sure didn't use the pole, did she?

Anon
I'm not sure why you went off so much on Urban because, the way I understand it, all she has done is comment about and share with us her own views regarding toxic mothers, the harm they might cause their children, and the possible repercussions of their parenting skills, or lack thereof, in this instance with regards to Yolanda and Isabella.

She certainly isn't putting herself forward as an expert in the human personality or mother/daughter relationships.

I think all of us who enjoy this blog (and participate by commenting to the very detailed and much appreciated recaps) use our own experiences in life to try and understand and figure out:

* why the novela characters act the way they do,

* why a character may or may not react in a certain way to a particular event,

* why the writers may portray a character and their actions in a certain way

* what makes them tick.

Thank you so much for this Marta.

Suspect Gabriel will be well connected and won't go away so easily.

Televisa must have made a bad cut in the film at the scene when Isabruja goes into IkkyLizard's room to finish him off with an architect's "x acto" knife (which only a surgeon could probably use with any success to kill someone).

On the chapter summary page for MCET on Televisa's website, they state that Isabruja found Enrique's room empty because the nurses had taken him for a tomografía (scan or xray).

Anon, every one here is accepted and encouraged to express their opinions based on this fantasy that we view. It leads to wonderful discussions and honestly I saw nothing in UA's comments to infer she was demeaning anyone outside her opinion on the characters in the TN. The writers have made quite an issue of both Eeky and Isa being Harvard grads in this TN in past episodes and that brings that to the discussion table on characters.

And please, join us in a discussion, but when you do and especially to call out someone for their views, identify yourself somehow like we all do. Thanks!

Daisynjay

I was wondering if the writers were peeking at some of UA's Mt Olympus dialogue: first one of the characters last night mentioned "we need the gods on Mt Olympus", or something TTE, and then, Zeus shows up!

Also, are we to assume that Isa's attempt on Enrique's life was a failure? I hope so, the two of them need to be around to make each other miserable, preferable for a lifetime!

J in Oregon

My guess is Isa missed her window of opportunity since Freeky was not in his bed and she had to run back to the office to comply with Fernando's 30 minute demands. So she had to postpone her plan. But we did not see that last night or it was cut off by Uni.

WOW. Someone we don't know needs to get over itself doesn't it? I don't think Isabitch or Reeky A C T U A L L Y graduated from Haaaavad. Lets just have some fun.

UA: you made an interesting comment: "That runs so contrary to what I know about educated children of toxic parents. Most of them avoid having children and many of them never marry."

I would have thought that an educated child would know that they needn't be that way with their spouses or kids. Or have I misunderstood what you were trying to say.

Nanette, the cycle of abuse often expresses itself in different ways down through the generations. Yolanda's mother hit her, Yolanda insulted Isabela.

Narcissists often breed other narcissists, but the self-absorption will usually vary in focus. A woman who is vain of her beauty will often criticize a (Mama thinks) plain or ugly daughter who will end up compensating in some other way, like academics. That daughter may end up with little or no patience for less than straight A's in her own children.

That daughter may know intellectually that her mother had more issues than National Geographic, but couldn't process this stuff emotionally as a child; it's hard to let go of this stuff. That's why many make the decision that the toxic stuff stops with them.

BTW, if the recap includes everything that was in last night's episode, there are a few seconds missing. As soon as Isabitch saw that the bed was empty the nurse and two orderlies returned with the unconscious Freaky. Isabitch quickly put her glasses back on because it was the same nurse who saw her before and whom she told she was Freaky's stepsister.

Thanks for explaining the Isabruja/Enfrique scenario, Victoria and Urban. I did not see her find Enfrique's bed empty.

Nanette - I also got the impression Alicia's infatuation with Pablo was waning quickly.

Noone is born having taken a quick or extensive lesson on how to read or grade your parents' parenting skills and how to become a parent (including how to break the pattern of 'issued' parents) from generation to generation.
Parents from the 60s and earlier had very little in the way of resources like books or courses on parenting... as compared to nowadays where there are magazines, books, courses, and a lot of online information and plenty of psychology study documentation to provide to-be parents with guidelines and ways to interpret their parents' behavioral issues and how to do things differently.
I myself have science degrees but found in pshchology (took about 15 credits in it) a way to get some education about human behavior as well so i am usually very open minded about how to read behavior traits and patterns on people.
So i guess what i am trying to say is nowadays people have access to tools and ways to break the pattern of 'issued' parenting, even though there is always a certain percentage that the environment you grew up in will potentially influence on the way you raise your kids... So decisions to not have kids in order to break the pattern would seem much more extreme now than... say 30 yrs ago.

Someone like Isa is CHOOSING to be bitter about it and blame her mother for her own possible parenting habits rather than staying in control and educating herself in how to break the patter.... granted, easier said than done... but the pattern could be broken. Look at Ana. She had no love as a kid (which could have turned her into even more bitter than Isa and more cruel with kids) but is so loving and caring with the Lasc kids and with her mother instead.

This shouldn't be a spoiler as it is information on the Internet but I was very disheartened to read this article about MCET and some changes Osorio plans on making to the show. For one thing, the new opening theme song is terrible!

Seems as if many, like us here at CC, may not be all that thrilled with the Jen / Johnny storyline.

Some of you have mentioned more than once the parallels between the love stories of the characters, this article mentions that very thought.

What do you guys think?

Sorry, here is the clip if you want to read it. It really doesn't give anything away in terms of the storyline.

Sorry forgot to mention that I will be doing so much >>>FF through the J/J scenes, I'll likely need to replace my remote!

hmmm... i just did a 3 hr + watching of cuando me enamoro on youtube and Silvia does her shouting/yelling there too. I wonder if it is a trademark of hers vs on the script.

Marta:

CME is a GREAT telenovela! The first novela that I watched with Silvia Navarro and also Juan Soler. I liked him so much I watched Angela next.
My opinion is that SN is one of the top 3, of not top, actresses who can cry really great and realistically on the drop of a dime--not like Victoria Ruffo TERRIBLE or even Lucero SO FAKE.

Watch "Mañana es Para Siempre" if you haven't seen that one (with SN and Fernando Colunga).

Hmmm.... I usually prefer the more dramatic series but I don't like when producers convert something else to that. It says they're either out of their depth or one or more of the actors are.

SN and JS aren't, so what gives?

Not nuts about Jen/Johnny; shouldn't that feel incestuous to him since she is Ana's best friend?

Did anyone else check out the article saying that Laura Bozzo will appear in this series? I really don't like that because I find her obnoxious.

Urban:
Not sure which article you are referring to about LB, but wasn't she in that one scene with AU where dimwitted Johnny walks onto her talk show set when he is roaming the halls (completely lost) at Televisa before his ONE BIG CHANCE to become a TV comedian?

I hope that was the one and only time we shall see or hear from her.

Victoria, CME is the ONLY remake of La Mentira that I have been able to stomach... and that is BECAUSE of Silvia and Juan. They are awesome there, as is Rene Casados.

As far as MEPS i like the original Pura Sangre with Rafa Novoa better. the lady who plays the villain there is even better than Lucero even though that is the best work from Lucero I have seen to date.

I too consider Silvia one of the top 3 of that age range alive today... and i would DREAM and pay money to see her and Mau Islas act as leads in a novela. I also spent time last night watching the last few eps of Amor Gitano because of him.

Give me Silvia, Mau and Juan in one novela with Leti Calderon and Cesar Evora as villains and Rene Casados and Daniela Romo as senior actors and I am in line overnight to watch no matter what time.

another couple i would love to see together is Rafa Novoa and Carolina Ramirez

Didn't Laura Bozzo appear in another Osorio novela where a male actor (was it Adrian Uribe?) ended up in her show stage right in the middle of her show...?? are Osorio and LB friends and that is why he keeps bringing her for cameo appearances? GEEZ!!!

Marta:

Fantastic actor combo idea!

I really think CC Viewers should write a collective Novela or at least put together an outline of a story and send it off to Televisa/Telemundo/etc.

By the way, shouldn't we, or do we, here on Caray, Caray have a nickname as bloggers, commentators, participants, etc.?

Marta,
Sorry I forgot to say that, coincidentally, I'm off to watch La Mentira after I finish Doña Barbara. I hope it's good.
I'm working my way (in no particular order) through our recommended List!

Egad, I forgot about that. I can't stand LB.

We have past discussions for new story ideas that we should probably exploit. Por dinero, por supuesto.

It should have been Episode 60 where Johnny wanders onto the set of Laura's talk show, and she completely demolishes him; but I can't remember why and, frankly, don't want to stomach a re-watch of the episode.

Victoria, CME is based on the same Caridad Bravo Adams story of La Mentira so La mentira is going to remind you of CME at least for first 60% of the story.

i have the LM book if you are interested i can send you a zip file that has that and the Corazon Salvaje (another CBA original) books.
