Quiero Amarte Highlights & Discussion (Week 16-Jan 5)

Lineage and Courtiers of the Montesinos Dynasty
Queen Lucrecia - The Queen of Evil, possesses all the knowledge and power in the royal family.
Mauro, Prince Consort - Weak, but Kindly and Benevolent titular head of the dynasty.
Princess Juliana - Exiled by her evil stepmother and alienated from her family, has recently returned to the fold and has her father's blessing and protection
Prince Alan - Heir apparent to Princess Juliana's land holdings
Cesar - Not Yet Emperor Cesar, but, Emperor in Waiting, cut from the same cloth as his mother, although his level of evilness has not risen to her level--yet. He intends to inherit everything.
Prince Maximiliano - Annointed by the Telenovela Gods to triumph over Evil in all its manifestations, save the family honor and unite with his only love--but it will take awhile.
Princess Flavia and Prince Lucio - Unimportant in the hereditary dynasty, but could make or break their mother's hold over the family.
Sir Jorge - Max's right-hand man, loyal to the death.
Duchess Amaya - Max's love interest, has royal blood, but not the lineage or pedigree the Queen wants for her son--or any son.
Lady Eloisa = Landless and lacking a fortune, lives off the fortunes of her sister, the Queen, treated as a servant rather than an equal.
Lady Constanza - Socially disgraced by her untimely bodus interruptus with Prince Max, but preferred by the Queen as a mate.
Sir Salvador - Up from nothing, learned, but none too wise, former friend and counselor to Max, until his attraction to Lady Constanza was uncovered.

Here it is folks--After some minor problems it is posted. Can anyone tell I've been reading a history of the British monarchy (starting in the mists of time).

LOL, Anita. Great start to our week of familial drama. I would just change Juliana's a bit to say evil stepmother instead of mother.

Caught a bit of the Tudors over the holiday. BBC America was doing a marathon. Your intro for the week reminded me of all the backstabbing and intrigue going on in King Henry's court among the nobles, his wives, and his children.

Thank you Anita! I'm not up on the royalty but I know I do want this "Queen" beheaded!

What's our recap lineup for this week? Please and thank you!

Vivi--Done. Thanks for pointing out that Juliana has none of Lucrecia's genes running in her.

Lila--We have no schedule for this week. We have so few recappers for QA. We can do discussions or bullet points. But PLEASE don't feel obligated to do your wonderful detailed recaps for our benefit.

There's nothing I can do from up here. I won't be home until Thursday.

Floridia--We got enough wet snow to require some shoveling (which I did not have to do). More bad weather expected and the temperature is dropping quickly, strong winds are bringing in the low temps.

Lucrecia is that PSYCHO!

Thanks, Anita. Well, let's at least wait until the west coast is done before we discuss it!

Juliana's an evil stepmother ?

Hi Anita
enjoyed the lineage and courtiers
after the Wisdom & lists you made on RdC I'm starting to wonder if you are a compulsive list maker. Not that that's a bad thing, I might be a compulsive list reader, I certainly enjoy reading your lists, but I can imagine how much time they take you so you should know they are appreciated.

I HATE Cesar. I mean really hate him, for what he's doing to Lucio. I wouldn't mind if he got hit by a garbage truck, like today.
I know he hasn't killed anyone (yet) but I hate him so much more than his mother or any of the other characters. So yeah, he could die now.

Yay! I got to watch the episode. That pink shirt Max was wearing sure got my attention on a huge screen in HD!

Sneaky Two Shoes--
I agree that what Cesar is doing to Lucio is Anvil-worthy. That's Anvil with a capital A. He does not deserve a quick, easy, death. Poor Lucio, if he believes Cesar, he will never utter another word against his mother. (And yes, obsessive-compulsive list maker is a label I've earned and wear proudly.)

I'm sure "they" are setting Amaya up for another attempt on her life...Max will probably doze off during his 8-hr. vigil, she's in intensive care, everyone else goes home. We all know how tn hospitals work. Intensive care means no one on the nursing staff checks the patient, and evil-doers stalk the empty halls after visiting hours are over. Please, please spare us from these scenes. They have been overused, even in the best of novelas.

Alicia--Juliana is not a stepmother to anyone. She is not evil. She is the daughter of Mauro and his first wife, Elena. Lucrecia is her stepmother. She is the Evil Queen.

Whoa! Great episode. The contrast of Lu's jubilation which turned to woe and everyone else's relief that Amaya survived was striking. Poor Mauro, who is dopey when it comes to Lucrecia, thought she was distraught because Amaya was shot. Aye aye aye! I fear for his heart when he finds out the truth about wifey. . .maybe it is best that he get little hints along the way so that it doesn't kill him outright.

I FF>> through the Cesar with Lucio scene. Too cruel! I just cannot think of anything that would be harsh enough to happen to him AND is PSYCHO mother (you're right, Steve!)

I will ditto the hate for Cesar. Poor Lucio!!

Thank you, Genoveva, for so quickly telling Max what you knew about Emma and Whor. Yeah, it makes Emma look bad, but she's the fool who ran and made herself look more guilty. Max knowing the truth helped him be able to debunk Whor's lie about not being Emma's lover.

I hope all the worry over Amaya doesn't make Dolores worse, but I'm afraid it will.

Yeah, Delores immediately got a huge pain when she got the news. The Dr. said she needed surgery immediately: I've got the feeling Delores is going to end up being an inpatient and she and Amaya will recover together. (I realized their conditions are quite distinct, however).

Also love Geno's talk with Max. I had to watch a bootleg copy yesterday. Stupid DVR looked as if it was recording, red light and everything but when I got all cozied up and ready to watch -- nada! I have to go back on hulu+ and watch a couple of scenes.

Like, what lie did Whor tell Mauro when they were talking in the cafeteria? Also, did Max tell Mauro what Geno told him?

Thanks!

Anita,

Your description of the Montesino Dynasty was very clever.

If I heard correctly, Cesar told Lucio that certain people will die if Lucio reveals info about Omar and Lu the Lunatic. Who are those people?

I'm about to watch today's episode now.

Anita, enjoy the rest of your stay in Boston area and save travel.

All the best to all ....

Anita,

Please make that "SAFE" travel.

Another thought,

If there is no one to recap an episode, viewers can simply ask questions about parts they don't understand, and those with the answers can chime in. To keep the blog going, we can all make comments about what particularly captures our attention and take it from there.

Thanks again to our beloved and dedicated recappers.

Just watched my recording from today. Well, Max let that cat out of the bag! But really, what business is it of Cesar and Whor-- whose lover just shot Amaya (assumed)?

Do not like Whor rifling through Amaya's documents in her home and staying in her house. Nor do I like hearing that Amaya has not yet changed her will and taken Whor out of it. What was she thinking not cutting him out of her will?!

The wings Lucio painted were quite beautiful, as was seeing how he and Flavia curled up with each other. It made me picture them curled up in the womb with each other that way. But seeing Lucio is so much pain and distress was just horrible.

The Lucio actor, Hernan Canto, really knocked it out of the park. I am so impressed with him, I had to finally look him up. He's 27 (26 at time of filming) and this is his first telenovela. He hasn't had a lot of huge roles. Some role in series for kids, some small roles in a few American movies. His mother is American, his father is Mexican- he lives in both countries. He seems to do a lot of things-- acting, dancing, composing, directing videos. Really will be keeping an eye out for him. Found this short audition video for him on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyNuErFjWjo

I loved the artwork as well.

No matter what Flavia is a champion for her brother and looks out for him. I love her for that.

Thanks for that audition clip, Vivi! What a cutie! Yah, he IS totally knocking this role out of the park! So believeable and authentic. I continue to have to FF>> through his scenes, though: it is just too real and painful!

Valeria's reaction was very real and touching as well.

Emma continues to be stupid. I guess she is too upset to have noted the Detective was trying to flesh out a theory he had and that they seem to believe she may be telling the truth and may have been set up. Doh!

Poor Max and Amaya are getting it from all sides!

Another observation: In one scene Mauro was so perfectly framed by those angel wings Lucio painted in anguish on the wall that it seemed too obvious a foreshadowing. I DON'T think they're going off Mauro. I certainly hope not!

It's also notable that he didn't even notice the painting or the mess. I understand the touching scene of them asleep and cuddling captured his attention and his heart, especially after such a trying day. Sara, you are right: thank goodness for Flavia because so much continues to get past Mauro.

Both Lucio, when he was crouching, and Mauro, sitting in the chair, had moments of being perfectly framed by those beautiful wings. I'm hoping and pretty sure that's not foreshadowing death for either of them. But the two of them seem to be the most innocent/naive people in that house. Perhaps the wings are a reflection of their pure souls.

Ahhh, that did cross my mind! Nice observation, Vivi! I didn't see Lucio framed by them because I couldn't bear to watch his scenes. I won't always fast forward through him but these past two days were really tough!

Isn't Whor really setting a trap for himself trying to frame Emma for the movement of Amaya's funds into Emma's account? The date of the transaction is clearly during the time when Amaya lies nearly mortally wonded in the ICU. That seems blatantly stupid or am I missing something?

I definitely like the pure souls interpretation since I don't want anything to happen to either Mauro or Lucio.

Thank heaven for this show. It makes La Gata a little more bearable.

Hi, Vivi,

Thanks for the info on "Lucio" aka Hernan. He should have an illustrious career from now on.

I agree; those scenes were intensely painful. And those wings incredibly beautiful; -- out of suffering emerged great majesty. I was expecting something horribly dark, but instead the transcendent illumination of his "pure soul."
I like that interpretation. It was all goodness and light.

Thanks to all recappers for thought provoking comments.

Hi, Floridia! Watching today's ep, see y'all later!

Tia Elo to the rescue! I don't like the stairway in that house and Lu is just crazy enough to . . .

Cesar is revealing more psycho characteristics and thinking every episode. How nutso to think he can marry Amaya!

Loved to gang up on Whor from Max, Mariana and Delores! We know Max and Amaya are destined to be together but Delores was absolutely right about Amaya being in danger from Lucrecia. In the crush of events I know she hasn't thought about it but she will soon figure out who shot Amaya.

Emma should be able to figure it out as well but she is also swept away and is not thinking clearly. That damned Lucrazy is too good of an actress! Whoo boy!

*loved the gang up on Whor

Got to watch a bit of this week's episodes, thanks to my son programming his TV for me. What can I say. Watching has been mostly a downer.

1. It was too easy for Cip and his gang of drinking buddies to steal all those bags of coffee berries from the El P. warehouse. Don't these folks have night watchmen? Remember how hard it was for Amaya and Mariana to just get on the property?

2. Uli needs a checkup in the same hospital as Amaya? WTH? He might just as easily run into Flavia as Mariana.

3. Loved the gang up on Whor at the hospital. But he continues to lie to Mauro and Cesar. Dontcha just love that he's in a little cubicle with no door at work?

3. Loved that Mauro showed Lucrecia the door if she wouldn't put aside her anger for the good of Lucio and allow Eloisa to come care for him...and for him to agree to Eloisa's conditions.

4. What Cesar tortured Lucio with a couple of days ago was that if he talked about Omar and his mother, everyone around him would die and it would be his fault. No wonder he wouldn't talk at all. Also, Cesar told him he had to show some love to his mother the next time he saw her, thus that painful, submissive hug when she showed up in his room.

5. Emma's goose is cooked. Who knew she had a daughter? She's pretty good. Wonder if she will have a more prominent role in her mother's troubles.

6. I got the impression that Cesar's strategy is to prevent Max from marrying Amaya at any cost, even if it means marrying her himself. I DO want to see him try. Shame on Amaya if she gives in or even gives him the time of day. Max is too much a part of her life now. Cesar would have to do something really evil to Max to get her to change her opinion. It will be difficult for her, otherwise, they've already gone through that lovely traditional indigenous wedding ceremony.

Will be checking back later. It was 4 degrees this morning. Don't know if my car will start. Will probably not leave until tomorrow or Saturday. You guys are on your own for the rest of the week.

Hi, Anita. As usual, you make some great observations!

1. Agreed. Cip even noted it. The warehouses have Mauro style security: naive, and dangerously "innocent".

2. Yeah, don't know what Uli's after. Did you hear as well that Cesar (as Vivi predicted) is thinking Uli may be a useful ally?

3. Yep. Love Whor's demotion! And yep, if he speaks, he lies! Anita, what do you think of his diversion of funds to Emmas's account? If I got that bit right, that is.

3. Amen, sister re Mauro showing Lu the door!

5. Yeah, the daughter thing was a surprise. Hopefully Emma will tell her all about her "good friend" Lucrazy and the daughter will tell the police!

6. "Shame on Amaya if she gives in or even gives him the time of day." Anita, I cannot even imagine this scenario! I will be in major shock! She has given herself to him, and he to her. I think this is just delusion on Cesar's part.

Be safe, Anita. We're fine here by the fire! It's awfully quiet at times but, well, it is what it is!

Lila--You got the bank transfer thing correct. It will certainly make Emma's innocence harder to prove. We who are sitting by the fire all know that no one will think to look at the date and time of the transfer.

And....I take it all back. Cesar did indeed say he would marry Amaya and why. I should have thought of that. He gets the lands and, supposedly, more power over Max. Didn't you just love the look on Luce's face when he told her to get with the program, whether she liked it or not.

Loved it that the fake hypnotist doctor was outted by the real regular doctor and not by Elo or Juli. We, who are sitting by a warm fire, all know that Luce is going to make up some story that it was Max's fault--he gave her the guy's name.

It's going to be very difficult not to share Max's and Elo's "secret pact" they made with Lucio not to tell ANYONE. They are going to want to tell Mauro and Amaya.

Whor is telling more lies. This time to Juliana. I don't think she believed his story about Max and Amaya putting the cuernos on him and that's why she left him.

Ok. Gotta run.

Well, here are biggies for me from today's episode:

>Amaya improves enough to be moved out of ICU to moderate care. She talks to Delores and Max and feels well enough to share a kiss. You go girl!

>Delores finds out Lu and Emma are friends and this fills her with dread. She is looking noticeably pale with dark semi-circles under her eyes. Remember, she's got a bad kidney and this revelation doesn't help!

>Lucio talks and reveals part of his truth to Tia Elo and Max!

>Mauro, Max and Flavia find out the so-called preeminent psychiatrist is a fake via the visit of a real Doctor who sees and treats Lucio. Real Doc (RD)agrees to use hypnosis to get to the bottom of Lucio's trauma and to be discrete about it. Lucio will be treated in RD's office!

>Lu gives Emma a supposed fail-safe escape plan: She is to take some drops Lu has given her which will simulate a heart attack. Emma will then be transferred to a hospital and Lu will help her escape! Emma is confused, in shock and grief over how her life turned topsy turvy in a millisecond. AND she thinks Lu is her friend. She said she'd rather die than go to prison: well, I think Lu is going to "help" her but instead of freedom, she'll be heading for the morgue!

Hey Anita, see you later! Be safe! And no, Juli didn't believe a word of what Whor was telling her. It was gracious of her to invite him to dinner and engage him in conversation. I like how up front she is in contrast to his constantly serving up a line of bull.

Also, I love that FD was outed so "soon", that is, that it wasn't saved til the end. I like that, a lot! It's like the fake ticket thing was discovered right away. We may get a cascade of well-timed revelations, which makes things exciting and believable!

*cancelled plane tickets, not fake ticket!

Hey amigos! I am a falling behind on the show this week, but looking forward to catching up. Happy to read Amaya is on the mend and that Fake Doc has been outed. Yay!

Hey Vivi! We miss you but understand you're doing double duty on the LM board. I hated to see Amaya get shot but know she's going to be ok. The devils are upping the ante though!

Commenting on Friday's episode--
ULI IS DISGUSTING. Can't wait until he gets what's coming to him. I wish Flavia had found out the truth from Juliana before Uli called her.

Too bad the results of Hector's investigating is going to Cesar and not Max and Ivan. Where is Ivan, anyway? I hope Hector shares.

I thought it was too soon for the REAL doctor to try to talk Lucio into hypnosis. Lucio KNOWS he has been threatened by Cesar not to talk. Hypnosis in real life is very iffy. Not everyone can be hypnotized successfully.

So, Luce adds another notch to her killer-belt. I think she knew all along what she gave Emma was fatal. Even if the autopsy reveals she was poisoned, how on earth are they going to discover who gave her the poison. She seemed to be wearing all her own clothes and still had her jacket with her in the cell. Aside from the attorneys and officials, Luce and her daughter were the only visitors, right?

Amaya was right, about wanting to get along with Luce, but boy is she ever wrong about Luce not being the one who gave the orders to Emma to shoot her. I was knocking her on the head as she said this. I wish Dolores would come clean on everything she suspects.

I didn't get to watch the last 15 min. or so, but will try over the weekend.

My kids are having car troubles, so I will be up here for several more days, until they get the car back. My son got sick, now my DIL is sick. I've been washing my hands after every time I get near them.

My list of (some) of the big events from the episode of 1-9-15:

>Sure enough, as I predicted and I'm sure many of you did as well, Lu killed Emma! The drops in the little bottle did not simulate a heart attack but brought on a swift and deadly cardiac arrest!

>Prior to Emma's murder her lawyer talked to her about a theory he has that she was set up. Emma thought Whor could be responsible.

>Delores shares her theory that Lu is behind Amaya's shooting with both Amaya and Mariana. Both dismiss it out of hand and think Delores is obsessed with Lu. After learning of Emma's death, Delores calls it "convenient" and shares her suspicions that Lu is responsible for this death as well. Again, Amaya doesn't believe it.

>In a welcome act of intelligence and logic that warms the hearts of my friends watching another unamed novela, an official announces that an autopsy will be performed on Emma: She was in perfect health and they suspect her death was provoked. They plan to investigate who visited her in prison and thus had an opportunity to poison her!

>Delores talks to Caro about what she saw as she waited for Amaya to meet with Emma. Caro recalls that she noted a woman's designer purse as she walked by the car. Delores feels this is further proof that it was Lu at Emma's apartment!

Gosh, I love people having smarts and using them. There were other scenes of importance, this is just my pick. Anything strike anyone else?

>

Hey Anita! Sorry to hear about your kids' car and health! Poopy cakes! Sending you all healthy vibes!))))))))))

I didn't see your comment when I posted mine. Aside from the attorneys and officials, Luce and her daughter were the only visitors, right?

I think you're right, Anita! Here's what I'm hoping: Go back and look at the scene where the official (police or lawyer) was talking to Emma's Daughter and Lu about doing an autopsy on Emma and looking closely at who visited her. To me it seemed that official was carefully watching Lu and perhaps even choosing what he revealed and how he said it and gauging her reaction. It was very subtle and I don't think I was imagining it. For all we know she might already be under suspicion for Amaya's murder. Emma's lawyer clearly expressed that it appeared she had been set up.

Cesar even seemed shocked to learn of Emma's death. How long before the bad seed figures out mommy dearest is behind this, or will she share it with him? They do seem to do a sickening kind of bonding over evil.

Totally agree with you that Ulises is a real slime ball. I think Flavia will believe Juli but unfortunately she will give Mariana hell as if it's her fault!

Thanks so much for the bullet points and commentary.

So Lu had a line on a separate poison supply? Or again used the same stuff that got Omar?

Episodes behind, may have to just skip several and try to watch soon enough to comment.

Chris in FL

Chris in FL--Luce has an endless source of supply for all kinds of poisons.

1. The sarin-like substance she used on Omar was the first we knew about. He touched it and breathed it in and it did him in. (Cesar knows she killed him with it. She got her confidant to get it for her--I think it was the actor.)
2. Then there was the depressant spray put in Juliana's car, with Alan and anyone else who rides in the car being collateral damage. (Cesar was the one who got it for her and wondered how she was going to use it. He knows because he's the one who sprayed the inside of Juliana's new car. Also, we learn it is the same substance she used on Mauro to keep him depressed for 4 or 5 years after Florencia & David died. Cesar knows about that, too.)
3. Eye dropper full of something lethal she used on Emma. Luce told Emma it would imitate a heart attack. But it was for a real fatal heart attack. (Cesar doesn't yet know about that, because he didn't know anything about Luce's planning the attempt on Amaya.

That pretty much covers it for Luce's poisons right now.

Cesar is busy planning something with either plague or some other infection that will ruin all Max's coffee plants.

When writers can't think of any other secret way of disposing of an inconvenient human, they always turn to untraceable poisons. It's time to cut back, folks!

Good morning Anita, Chris and all!

When Lu gave Emma the little dropper bottle she said it was a potassium based compound that would simulate a heart attack.
So I looked this up and apparently too much potassium can cause the heart to beat very fast and erratically and this is one type of cardiac arrest. Potassium chloride could be what was in the little dropper bottle. It would break down in the body into potassium and chloride, both of which occur normally in the body. Thus, the heart attack will be found to have no known cause.

Another thing on the poison. There was a scene yesterday or day before when poor Alan was telling his mom he was feeling tired. She mentioned she was also a little pooped. I think that was Thursday. It was the same day that Juliana invited Whor to eat with them. So THAT poison is working! I must say, I've never heard of aerosol depression spray!

I am tempted to look back at some early episodes when the deaths of Mauro's first wife and parents were discussed. I remember on the episode when Juli was grieving Franco she had a vivid vision/memory of the day she and her papa took three urns to the family crypts on a rainy, rainy day. I even wrote a comment about it but (embarrassed grin) don't quite remember my "realization." Anywhoo, It wouldn't surprise me if Lu ends up implicated in more murders than these recent ones and those on the day of the Great Accidents. She's a cold-blooded killer and sees other people -- if they get in the way of something or someone she wants -- as annoyances to be gotten rid of as easily as swatting flies!

Thanks, Anita,

It's unfortunate about the sickness in MA and the car delay -- my sympathies -- but convenient that you as a loving mother and mother-in-law were there to SAVE THE DAY for all.

Enjoyed all of your observations and comments.

Lila, thanks also to you for holding the fort and keeping us up to date with details, some of which I had missed along the way.

I find the program Forensic Files fascinating and was surprised to learn that my daughter, a lawyer, living four hours away from me, watches it with great interest and pays much more attention to the details than I do. We know when watching that the true killer
will be caught (and has been caught) by the time the show is aired. I am amazed at the tiny shreds of evidence and the painstaking work done by forensic experts that are ultimately
joined in a concerted effort to learn the truth. It is encouraging to know that this type of work is being done -- in some situations, but it seems rare.

My only thought in Emma's case is why didn't the police check her hands and the rest of her person for traces of gun powder. I know nothing about guns and do not wish to, so I don't know if that type of gun would produce gun powder residue. She could have washed up, but clearly in her rush to make a speedy exit, she did not even have time to clean up the blood on her hands. I would think that there would still be time to do this. Little time has passed. Who knew we would be feeling sorry for Emma?

It will be good if the lawyer and police are diligent, but often there is a rush to pronounce the CASE CLOSED. One thing that is known is the visit by Lulu. It is most annoying to see people being quiet when their suspicions are well founded...i.e. Madrina.
Perhaps she and Caro will form their own team of Private Eyes....
excellent clue with the designer bag. I hope she meets Lulu at a later time with that bag in her possession.

I cannot figure out why Juliana and Eloisa did not tell Mauro immediately about the fake shrink.
At least he had not made another appearance at the house after their discovery. Would they have mentioned it if this had been the case?

This episode was action packed -
moving rapidly from one scene to another. It seems as if we are in for all kinds of heartaches in the near future. What is the ending date of this TN?

Thanks to all commenters..

All the best,

Floridia--I think the lawyer told Emma at the very end--when there was no turning back from her transfer to prison, that there were no fingerprints on the gun and her hands did not show powder residue, but unfortunately, that did not exuclpate her in the eyes of the law. They conclude she was wearing gloves.

Her biggest error was to throw the clothing away. He told her this, too. Not sure why. Bloody clothing would show she was very near the body. Anywho, who are we to outguess the police. The bloody clothing could show she tried to clean up after the murder. Or without them, she fled before cleaning up (because she did). Oooooohhh, this is getting good.

Floridia--I love police/forensic shows too. I was addicted to CSI Miami and still watch re-runs, got hooked on The Bridge and The Killing. Having been a law librarian, I also currently adore The Good Wife.

Floridia--There appears to be appx. 160 episodes. We are at 80+, so there is plenty of time for maldad to escalate before El Fin.

Lila--Thanks for giving us your highlights...and for looking into the poison. Interesting stuff.

Lila--I'm pretty sure you are correct about Elena, Mauro's first wife AND her parents all died at the same time. Not sure that Luce could have been certain Mauro would have married her after Elena's death, but not to put it past her.

She pulled the pregnancy card on Mauro only when Omar rejected her. She really wanted Omar to marry her and he told no and to hook a guy like Mauro, so I don't think she was involved in Mauro's wife and parents' death.

Hi, Anita and Floridia!

Good point, Anita, about Lu at first wanting Omar instead of Mauro. She's such a devil though I'm inclined to keep that on a back burner.

Re keeping quiet about the fake Doc, Juli and Elo wanted to be absolutely certain before they went to Mauro, especially Elo I think. If I remember correctly Juli wanted to go to Mauro right away but Elo urged caution. Seeing how her beloved Lucio has been bullied though has strengthened Elo and she is in mama bear mode now!

Further, I think Elo is so cautious because she has long experience of seeing how clueless Mauro is of the evil of Lucrecia. She knows she would need irrefutable evidence and the real Doc's assertion that he was a fake was just that! Mauro could not question her or blame her assertion on the problem she has with her sister.

Agree that Delores could share some very interesting information with the police but I don't think she ever will. Lucrecia will be found out another way. I hope the daughter will have some information.

I could go back and look but does anyone remember if Emma told anyone that Lu knew about her meeting with Amaya?

Caro's memory of the designer purse is hopeful. I also hope there was a security camera somewhere in that apartment building or on the street!

Anita and Lila,

Thanks for all the responses. I do remember Eloisa's train of thought but didn't agree with it.

Anita, I too was a librarian -- but not of law - at a middle school after I transitioned from teaching Language Arts.

All roads lead to Spanish.

All the best.

Safe trip home.

Lila--You asked, "does anyone remember if Emma told anyone that Lu knew about her meeting with Amaya?"

I think Luce wanted to know that very thing and while Emma was behind bars and Lu was visiting, she asked her. Emma swore she didn't and promised to not tell anyone that Luce was the one who had suggested the meeting take place at her apartment.

It's too bad Emma had to expire before she learned how cruel and evil her "friend" really was.

Floridia--My beanie's off to you. Middle School is hard enough on the kids these days, let alone the teachers and staff. I hope the experience was worthwhile.

I dealt with over 200 attorneys, paralegals, etc. by myself, all with immediate "needs." They were great although some still had middle school attitudes!

Lila--A security camera is just too much to hope for. Maybe it will be the purse, but that leaves it in the hands of an eyewitness, as unreliable as that can be.

Actually, a lot hinges on Caro's testimony. She saw when Emma arrived. Amaya was already there and Caro had been waiting for some time. If Amaya had not been able to get in the apartment because Emma wasn't there (presuming the door was shut), then Amaya would have come back downstairs or at least called Caro or answered Caro's calls.

The time is critical here.

Anita,

Your job sounded demanding but
satisfying with lots of fun along the way. I'm sure you were in touch with quite a cast of characters.

Re our novela, you can add
"Detective" to your title.

Let's hope that a good sleuth will appear on the scene.

Anita! Thanks! Too bad, indeed: Emma died without having told anyone of Lu's role in her fateful appointment with Amaya and not knowing what a wicked, evil, manipulator Lu was! And yes, Caro's testimony IS important. You know, until Delores asked her she hadn't had time to think about what was happening around Emma's apartment building as she waited. I'm glad Delores put that on her mind!

Floridia, The (lawyer)? that spoke to Emma just before her death and then to Lu and Monica (Emma's daughter) after her death seemed to be asking the right questions: he told Emma he believed she was set up and later stated that her heart attacked could have been provoked. I'm not sure of the relationship between investigators and lawyers but I would think the lawyer will share this information so it can be followed up on.

What say ye, Anita?

Hey good friends. Next week's headliner is up (with a small alteration in the title).
